A bluff check in combat can deny your opponent his dex.

With mounted combat you can negate a hit directed at your mount.

Why not more of these?

Perhaps toughness could be a skill instead of a feat.

Expertise could become parrying.

and so on....

They could be class skills for say a fighter and cross class for other classes.

Of course ,the fighter would need the 4 skill points per level, that most people on the bards, already feel that they deserve.

Well, rather than inventing new skills, I try to always include terrain that makes climb/jump/balance useful. In any event, I think Fighters should have had 4 skill points to begin with.

1. The problem with fighters is they typically turn Int into a dump stat.

That is, most people choose to play stupid fighters. If you want to play a dumb fighter, you have no business complaining that you get no skills.

2. Fighters are feat masters, not skill masters. The Barbarian and the Ranger are the fighter with skills. Play one of them, if you want the skills.

Expertise could become parrying.

Nit-pick here, but Combat Expertise -is- parrying. You're reducing your chance to hit, because you're focusing on keeping their weapon away. Dexterity/Dodge bonuses are an abstraction of dodging, parrying, blocking, and all that.

Fighting defensivly is parry. Combat expertise is being good at it:P

You missed the point. The OP knows Combat Expertise represents parrying, he was changing the name of the feat to a different name for the skill so as not to confuse anyone. Thus a skill called "Parrying", not "Expertise."
