hello and good day or good night (depends when you are reading this)

i was wondering if there was a feat that allowed wisdom to ac

for example the class feature of the swordsage or the monk

other wise here is my take on this

inner instinct

prequisite

wis 13+ lvl 6

you tap in you wisdom of previous battles and form that you are able to participate the enemy's next move

now you may add your wisdom bonus to your ac

special

to be able to add this bonus you now may only wear light armor or none
you may not be encumbered or else you will lose this bonus

Wisdom to AC is beyond the power that a feat should grant.

No thank you.

but how about shock trooper. headless charge simulates the class ability of the ronin of bansai charge
so why is wisdom bonus to ac beyond the power a feat should grant

although the requirements could be more

although the requirements could be more

1) Shock Trooper requires 6 BAB and two feats to take. Yours requires practically nothing.

2) Headless Charge also requires the user be Power Attacking for at least -5 damage. Banzai Charge requires only a -2 penalty to AC minimum and does not go through Power Attack.

3) Shock Trooper is a tactical feat, not a normal feat like this one.

4) Your feat is actually better than the class ability. It allows for light armor/shield use and use while encumbered. Even the Swordsage's AC Bonus ability only allows for light armor.

5) Just buy a Monk's Belt (DMG 248, 13,000 gp).

Wisdom to AC as a feat? No. I would be hard pressed to accept a feat that just gives you a stat to AC. The best you could probably get by with is something like Divine Shield, which lasts for a few rounds when you activate it, requires use of a shield, and requires the expenditure of a turn attempt, thus limiting it to two classes that can take it.

NO.

Well, you can get it in the form of an item, almost; since there's the Monk's Belt, and and so it's not THAT impossible and unthinkable, but it's too easy to get...

Maybe if you put in some other requirements, there's an argument that at least the rejections are out of hand and over-emphatic and making a bigger deal than it is worth.

But as it is, yeah, it seems like a bit much for the feat. What class that wears light armor and is powered off of wis wouldn't take it?

.... huh. That's an interesting question, really. What sort of impact DOES that feat cause? I mean, think about it people. Most light-armor wisdom users already get Wis to AC. Paladin and Cleric are, absent late-game high-power, would pretty much be better off in medium or heavy armor; at most this seems like (absent twinkery) a few extra AC to the ranger. And that's just OH NO.

There's actually been a feat for this for a while.

ONE LEVEL OF MONK [GENERAL]
You have one level of monk.
Prerequisites: Lawful alignment.
Benefit: You gain +2 to all saves. You also gain all the class features of a 1st-level monk, including the AC bonus class feature which allows you to add your Wisdom bonus to your AC when unarmored, unencumbered, and not immoble.
Special: Monks automatically gain this feat at 1st level.

The Cleric would be better off with Chain Shirt with this feat.

4 base AC + 3-4 Wis AC + 1-2 Dex AC > Full Plate. Cheaper too.

Same with Druids.

And Rangers.

Paladins maybe not because Wisdom isn't their key stat.

It seems a bit much for level 1, but fairly level-appropriate at 6, 5, or even 4. So I'd add a minimum level requirement for such but, otherwise, it seems fine.

Oddly enough I've got a cleric that'd been doing quite fine with that Monk's Belt; helps that Divine Power makes the Belt of Giant Strength unneeded, of course.

(also helps that the Monk's Belt doesn't require one to be lawful.. I mean it's a piece of rope!)
