Would giving bonus feats change LA in an extreme way as long as there isnt too many or does adding any super charge the character to give them a huge advantage?
Why I asked this (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?p=14877617#post14877617)

Well, if everyone in the group gets them equally, then I wouldn't worry about it too much. Certainly, the more they get, the more powerful they'll become, but you can always adjust the difficultly of encounters based on that.

Where it gets tricky is if one player is getting more or less than everyone else. To keep things simple, I'd just make sure each person in the party gets compensated equally. Keeps it simple and limits complaints.

there is a varient rule that allows players to take an extra feat if they take a character flaw. Some examples are....

Unlucky - Character takes a -2 to all attack and save rolls.

Here are some more flaws to check out..

Good rule of thumb is no more then 3 flaws for a bonus of 3 bonus feats.

Keep in mind that the RAW in the Unearthed Arcana explicitly states that a character can only take 2 flaws (thus allowing 2 bonus feats) at creation.

Keep in mind that what's fun for the group comes first. If you have a great campaign idea, and everyone thinks it would be great to try out, go for it. So long as you try to maintain balance, you should do fine.

Just remember to try to keep everyone in their own fields. Don't give everyone feats that make them sneakier than the sneaky-by-default guy. If you make everyone better at what they already do, they should all enjoy it.

Trust me when i say 3 is still ok. And balance is a big factor. I am currently running a game with a guy who lives and breathes DnD. Has every book memorized, and mastered EVERY trick to the game. I allowed him to run his demi-god char (Cut down to a level 10 char with a ECL 20 and taking a 50% chance to fail on ALL spells even though he runs divine spells as a cleric.) and he still raped a CR 65 modded Balor with over 2000 hp in only 3 rounds. He realizes that my only goal in game is to kill his char, and his is to kill my Mobs, while i try not to kill off the rest of the party. Its hella fun.
