| aaron2hot08-26-07, 10:33 PM | can a person be a trumpet archon and still pickup vow of poverty and keep his trumpet /sword. If so how will that magic stack in it? with its level gain (archon)and then then exalted strike (vow of poverty) |
| EpicEvokerElf08-26-07, 10:37 PM | Probably, as it's an innate ability. Some DMs would say no. And a person can't technically be a trumpet archon, as then he's no longer a person. |
| Tedronai08-26-07, 11:36 PM | A trumpet archon's trumpet is a racial ability, rather than an legitimate magic item (if taken away, for instance, it is transformed into a non-functional lump of lead). It may not be on the list, but that's something a DM has to be prepared to deal with when allowing non-standard pc races into a campaign. Some things designed for normal pcs just won't work the same way for a monstrous pc. I'd suggest that it should be allowed. Technically, purely by the book, though, it shouldn't. A Solar's weapon, on the other hand, is closer to a Soulknife's Mindblade in mechanic (it doesn't exist at all out of their posession) and would be a much easier sell (though the Solar itself would be much more difficult to pull off) |
