| DungeonJman04-23-07, 08:26 PM | As Sir Draxen passes through the gate of the Platinum Heaven in the GoP, he ends up in Mertion, where a trumpet archon is waiting for him. You're from the Guild of Paladins, right? Good, we were starting to think that you wouldn't come and that i would have to report back on my own. Please follow me. *he then starts flying towards the tallest fortress on the layer* |
| theotherdraxen04-24-07, 10:25 AM | (OOC: Sorry for my lateness. As I told you, I've had frustrating technical problems.) Sir Draxen pauses, overcome with awe. He makes to follow, but stops. "Wondrous creature, I have not the ability to fly. I will have to advance on foot." |
| DungeonJman04-24-07, 12:28 PM | Of course. I am just leading the way. *the fortress that he's heading towards is accesible by foot, if not up a really big hill, and he's flying at a speed that you can follow* |
| theotherdraxen04-24-07, 12:59 PM | Sir Draxen mounts up and follows. He doesn't dare ask the creature any questions along the way, for fear of offending it. He hasn't seen a lot of the outer planes; most of his experience comes from fighting wars for his King and serving on special missions. He is still quite awestruck by the Archon. |
| DungeonJman04-24-07, 01:24 PM | After reaching the top fortress, the trumpet archon leads SIr Draxen into a courtyard in the middle. After standing in a patch of the yard brighter than the rest, he begins ascending to the sky without flying (i.e. this is the passage to the next layer) |
| theotherdraxen04-24-07, 02:09 PM | I look around. What do I see? |
| DungeonJman04-24-07, 03:20 PM | *your still in the courtyard. Beyond that, it's a big fortress, similar to the GoP* |
| theotherdraxen04-24-07, 03:55 PM | I approach the fortress, looking for any signs of a guard. "Hello? I am Sir Draxen, Guardian of the Gate and Servant to the Guild of Paladins. I come as a humble mortal before the celestials." *Waits for a response, while approaching the fortress.* Edit: if there is no response, he'll proceed to the fortress and knock on the main entrance if he can. |
| DungeonJman04-24-07, 06:03 PM | *the door opens, but no one is there. It appears as though the door has sensed your alignment and opened of its own volition. The door to the courtyard is open, and the rest of the floor of the fortress is open (no doors between rooms)* |
| CaptainShar04-24-07, 06:32 PM | A light in the shape of a winged centaur briefly swirls past Sir Draxen, and continues upward. |
| theotherdraxen04-25-07, 01:02 AM | "Hello?" Sir Draxen calls out, dismounting. He approaches the door. He tests the entrance, unsure of his own safety, and then tells his mount to follow. If it's safe enough, and there are no encounters along the way, he'll go all the way to the top. |
| CaptainShar04-25-07, 01:28 AM | Tell everyone - Dad, Mom, the other Paladins, Shar, my friends and companions, Dalion - that I still love them. I thought I might stay and work for others, but I have Pelor's assurance that all is taken care of; and I have lost so much in life that now I desire rest and no more loss. Perhaps I'll see them again someday, but for this time I go. Goodbye. The light goes upwards and fades from mortal comprehension completely. |
| DungeonJman04-25-07, 10:57 PM | After ascending into the sixth layer, Sir Draxen and the trumpet archon are advancing through various parts of Yetsirah, the Heavenly City. I assume that you'll be wanting to know what this is all about, and why my supervisors made your supervisor panic about the situation's urgency? |
| theotherdraxen04-26-07, 12:17 AM | "Yes, of course." |
| DungeonJman04-26-07, 03:23 PM | Well, first some background. You know about the Hebdomad, lords of the layers of Celestia, right? Well, the highest one of all, Lord Zaphkiel the Watcher, has finally made a decision after untold years to ascend into Chronias. All of the lawful good organizations were asked to send one member as a show of respect for Zaphkiel's passing. This is an event of utmost importance, because it has never happened, and since Lord Zaphkiel has ruled over Celestia for such a long time, we need to decide who will take his place. |
| theotherdraxen04-27-07, 02:11 AM | "I'm afraid I do not know who these beings are, or what is happening, but I will do exactly as you ask." He pauses to admire the wondrous city. "In any case, my knowledge is limited, as I am accustomed to lesser affairs with fellow mortals and their noble leaders. I only hope I will be able to represent the Guild of Paladins sufficiently despite my ignorance." |
| DungeonJman04-27-07, 07:55 AM | Well, just try to the best of your ability. No one up here will blame you if you are less than well-versed in planar knowledge. *he pauses for a second* One more layer, then to the central building of the 7th layer of the city. |
| theotherdraxen04-27-07, 12:13 PM | Sir Draxen follows the celestial. |
| DungeonJman04-27-07, 04:36 PM | *As you make your way to the center of the city, you see that the entire place is perfect in every concievable way. The people are all friendly, and the streets are paved with gemstones. After entering a building, you then enter a huge courtyard approximately half a mile from the center of it. You see several elders sitting in golden chairs singing praises to good. As you get closer, you eventually reach a huge crowd of other people, (paladins, high-ranking clerics, etc.) which all seem to have come for the same purpose that you have. Six angels stand as a hexagon at the closest to the center, and in the middle is the famed bridge of light, Al-Sihal, where the most powerful and noble looking seventh angel is standing.* I must go, as it is solely my job to escort you here. *the trumpet Archon leaves* |
| theotherdraxen04-27-07, 11:08 PM | "Huh. I wonder whose impression of paradise it was to create a land of pure good where the inhabitants walk upon flagstones of riches. I was impressed with the lustor of this city, and with the raw magnificance of the celestials themselves, but paradise should have comfortable streets, not wealthy ones." He nods, jots it down in his journal, and then begins to ask around the other members here to try to get a better idea of what he's supposed to do. Gather Information? |
| DungeonJman04-28-07, 09:38 PM | OOC: For the record, the streets of gems were designed to be wealthy, well functioning, and comfortable. *A dwarf adorned with symbols of Moradin approaches Sir Draxen and says* Well, lad. I think that we're waiting for the final stragglers to come so that the angel in the center can begin his final speech or something. Us? We're here mainly to listen, but i think he wanted us here for a final request or something. |
| theotherdraxen04-29-07, 05:34 PM | OOC: For the record, the streets of gems were designed to be wealthy, well functioning, and comfortable. Sir Draxen was just being a wise ass. ;) "Ah, that makes sense. My name is Sir Draxen, representative here of the Guild of Paladins. Who might you be?" |
