| Orcy The Green Wonder03-04-08, 11:31 AM | Once, the Keep rose high above the ground with a narrow pass winding it's way up through the mountains. The Knights walked the ramparts and guarded the place against the forces of darkness and tyranny. Now, what the keep stands for is something dark and mysterious. It's very walls seem to be wrapped and covered in a strange organic substance. The courtyard, once beautiful in the dull mountainous surroundings has fallen into ruin, dead trees and the barest remnants of grass struggle to survive. Occasionally one staring hard at the disturbing walls of the building might catch glimpse of something stirring within. In the distance a group of dragons, bearing riders upon their backs approach. Down below the keep is plainly visible from the distance, as are the massive Ballista lining the battlements atop the mountainous outcropping just above and behind the keep. Down below, past the first gate on the winding path, a small group of Armored men crouch, watching the walls in an apparent attempt to size up the garrison. |

| Orcy The Green Wonder03-05-08, 12:34 AM | The Knights are obviously startled by the dragons and their riders, drawing their swords and standing defensively before the woman speaks. They relax a little when she begins speaking and one steps forward. His age is hard to tell with the dust and grime that covers him and his armor. His face is spotted with hair and stubble from going without a shave for quite some time now. His friends are likewise in such states, some with beards filling out and all fairly unkempt and in poor condition. On speaks quietly, his voice cracking from apparent disuse and the dry air of this particular mountain range. "We ARE... those worthy Knights... or... were." |

I would rather die than face the truth, that the horrors I have seen were indeed true! Nowhere is safe in there, it watches us even now I am sure. For there is a beast that walks within those halls. A beast that has devoured my brothers and made abominations of those unfortunate enough to live. A beast that does not exist yet is all around us, inside all of us! Once those halls stood for justice, they stood to protect the people from evil and tyranny, against the ever flowing tides of corruption and death that fill our world. But now it is an abomination of it's old self, a keep hidden within a mass of disgusting tissue. Within walks the abominations that my brothers have become, within walks the twisted and corrupted form of the man who I pledge my life to! A beast walks those halls madame, a beast more powerful than anything I have ever known in my life! A beast that is in all things, a beast that is many.... and it calls itself... Legion." |

Gix stands and crawls ontop of his head and takes a peak wiping his goggles clean to make sure he sees it correctly. "Legion eh? As in the Merregon from the armies of the Nine Hells...? Ya know..." Gix screws up his face as he kicks up his voice so it's like metal against metal. "We are leeeeegion! We are maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany!" His voice goes back to normal once again. "Like that? |

Seems like it should be easy to fix this problem doesn't it Daken?" Daken:"Yes brother, kill them all." Fel:"Come my companions, let us rid this keep of its foul infestation. We need not tarry any longer lest these knights have information that could prove useful in the battles to come." With that Fel begins to adjust his armor and his gear for the upcoming skirmishes. |

"I say again Knights, have you any information that could prove beneficial in the upcoming battle? My blade and my lance are thirsty and my patience is growing thin." |

The Knight turns his back on the group and stares off at the keep. While all this has been happening a man in fancifully colored clothing has stepped up alongside the group. He makes no comments to anyone but simply stands by watching and listening to everything thats going on. The dragon however has disappeared, perhaps flying off while everyone was distracted with the knights. Calibrus looks toward the other as the Knights turn their backs and shrugs. |

He looks over his shoulder and shakes his head. "You mock our pains, you mock the enemy you face. Even were we to give what help we can, you would die because of your ignorance. We cannot afford to waste what little resources we might have against this evil on those who have no hope. Try... but with your attitude you will fail. I find it... a pity, that the first people to come to this place since it's fall have been so deluded in their own grandeur." |

Kneel now and show your utter insignificance or know the end of my lance and the face of your god as you go to him."\ Daken growls and raises them into the ground and levels his lance. |

My brothers have lost their lives or become hideous mockeries of their former selves. My lord is held in the sway of a vile monster that you seem to consider no more than a flea. My lord was more powerful than you or your dragon, savage, and he was far more of a man as well. What hope do you have charging in blind and mocking our pain?" The Knight has turned as he spoke, and is now facing Fel. His eyes are narrowed and his jaw clenched in anger. His knuckles show white around the hilt of his sheathed sword as he stares down the dragon rider. "What would a savage like you know of brotherhood? How could one like you understand what it is like to lose them all save for these few? We numbered in the hundreds... we came from all areas of the worlds and yet we lived as brothers and sisters all. What would YOU know of that? You who so casually threaten the lives of honorable men, you who so casually mock an enemy that is greater than you? Go on, kill me if it makes you feel like a man." Calibrus clears his throat and steps forward, leaning toward Fel and speaking in the draconic tongue. "Sir, I've delt with the knightly sort before and might I make a suggestion? We appoligize and inform these good men that we shall free their keep of the infestation within. As well, we could offer to help those inside, these knights and the owners of this land... back to the saftey of the city. Just a thought." |

| Gulien03-10-08, 04:21 PM | Fel ignores the advice of his companions and looks down on the little knight in his rusted armor. "WELP! You speak beyond your station! Know this in times to come. My name is Fel Drakensteed. For your bards will sing of my bravery today. For I shall be renowned for the destruction of this taint and the freeing of your brothers and sisters. Your name shall be lost in the flotsam of history amongst the other cowards that fled the keep. If truly you felt as strongly for those inside this discussion would not be happening, you would have given your life in their defense. For in my experiance when you call a group family your only regret can be having but one life to give in their protection. Now leave and scurry away like the coward you are. I shall do your work for you and remove this taint." Raising his lance away from the knight he turns Daken and looks to the odd walls of the keep and speaks loudly to the knight with his back turned. "I will not forget your insolence however. When this is done I challenge your honor and will do combat with you in the arena. Pick your terms. To kill you know in your impotent state would be a dishonor to the grandeur due a Paladin of my lady Tiamat." Looking to now to Shar he speaks. "Speak to them if you will. I have no time for oath breaking cowards." |

The ground begins to move and rise into the basic form of a human figure. It stands at easily five times the size of a man, rising high into the air, a towering behemoth. It's eyeless head turns downward and a voice books with the sound of grinding earth. "More... little swine... for the slaughter." |

And now that we've gotten through the ritual comparison of strength, in a somewhat less civilized way than that practiced in a proper tournament, Shar smiles stiffly, perhaps we can speak to one another in a civilized manner. I, for one, do not wish to trespass without the blessing and aid of the lawful (she accents the word for Fel's benefit) protectors of this keep. Yet I would like to think that at least some small part of it may be salvaged. Forgive our rudeness; what would you prefer that we do, Knights of Ghashmal? The blade cuts into the stone, slicing a small gash into it's surface. The massive rocky beast simply laughs and raises a massive limb. A voice echoing from within it's body. "Insects!" Two beams of energy hurl from the creature's body, each racing toward a different target. One strikes Gix and burns his flesh, the second one possibly strikes Fel. 7 damage to Gix Possibly 10 damage to Fel (Orcy knows how Gulien likes his ride checks) |

It slams it's mighty fist into the rider, attempting to pummel him and drive him into the ground. When the blows have finished landing and the and the acid has burned into it's stoney form... the creature collapses to the ground in a heap of rock and stone. 28 damage to Fel from it's readied attack |

Surely the great beasts are more powerful than this! Shar draws closer to the dragon riders and whispers, We all have better maneuverability out here. The more we can fight where we can fly, the better we'll be. I'm trying to delay going into those close corridors. |

A lone figure appears atop the resin coated keep, it walks the upper area carved into the mountainside carrying a greatsword in it's hand. The voice speaks loudly from there... "You wish to challenge me... puny little coward? Then come and challenge me. I will wear your dragon for armor... perhaps make the other into a nice rug... I will feast upon your flesh, and... if you are lucky... perhaps I will take one of you as a new servant." |

The battle lust has consumed him finally and Fel smiles widely and a varitable roar raises from his lips as he responds. "I salute you sir! It takes a great man to be the one standing in our way. Surely you know not what death is when it openly knocks on your door and you come out to greet it. Be you this Legion or the master of this keep I behoove you to enjoy this, the last day of your little life. You face the Dogs of War! We are the might of the all-mother and you will know it!" Fel pounds his chest and levels his lance on the man and Daken roars loudly. |

She activates her Chameleon ring, and her coat, boots, and skin fade to the gray of the surrounding stones. She starts climbing up towards the ballistas. | Orcy The Green Wonder03-25-08, 02:44 AM | A great volley of arrows flys forth from the appropriately named "murder holes" on the keep's walls as Captain Shar approaches. Twenty of the projectiles launch from within the keep, all streaking through the air toward the captain. The majority of the projectiles fail to strike the captain through her quick movements and armoring. But a fair number still manage to peirce the woman's flesh as she approaches. The man atop the battlements laughs loudly. "Did I forget to mention the archers? How terrible of me... and how foolish of you to announce your pressence and ask me to come and kill you. If you are done with your bravado and fool attempts at assaulting a keep head on... then I'll be done with this and kill you." Shar takes 59 damage. Orcy supposes he should post this since he found them again... Ghashmal Keep Entrance (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353/BaddieX51/Arena/ghashmalfront.jpg) Ghashmal Battlements (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353/BaddieX51/Arena/ghashmalback.jpg) The sections that are off the map on either side are sheer rock-faces that act as natural walls, trimmed a bit when the keep was built in the area to allow for a full range on the ballista. Each of the Ballista rests up above the battlement walls, giving them a clear line of sight all the way down the entrance, which is a winding path that leads upwards. The strange shaped objects on the walls at certain points (A and F on them) appear to be some sort of small cannons. |

The bolts cut across Daken's hide, but do not manage to pierce his flesh. They come crashing down upon the ground all around the others. The man on the battlements manages to dodge away from both lance and take cover, protecting him from a majority of the dragon's breath as well. The man below raises his hand and hurls a yellowish orb upward after the Dragon. The ball explodes in a burst of electricity, sparking out in all directions, the electricity flowing over Fel and Daken alike. The archers down below open fire on Mach, groups taking shots against different images of him. Two arrows strike the Mach on the left, two strike the mach in the center, and one lands on the mach on the right. All of the arrows flying into the images and, perhaps, the real mach as well. His greatsword slices clean through the Knight, who tumbles unceramoniously to the floor. Calibrus barely manages to avoid Fel and Daken as they come down just above him and find themselves forced to land, unable to keep airborne in the enclosed tower. He gives Fel a rather incredulous look at the unneeded excess of his attack but says nothing. A strange sensation comes over Fel after he has landed inside the tower, a strange feeling passes over him for but a split second, Daken feels likewise. Fel and Daken both need will saves. |

From his outstreatched hand a brilliant beam of energy flys across the battlefield, striking Calibrus on the chest. The man seems completely unphased by the energy however, the color changing to red as it strikes. While all this happens, Fel and Daken feel a strange sense of dizzyness come over them. Flying through the air he dives at the revealed Arcanus, bringing his sword to bear he swoops down to slash at the man. As he swings a veil of shimmering green energy flows over Arcanus. Calibrus continues his swing and an energy flows from the veil along the man's sword, running into his body. Calibrus shouts in sudden pain from the attack, he brings his sword up in preparation for Arcanus' next move. Fel watches the occurances and quickly mounts Daken once more. The two look as one toward Mach and Daken beats his mighty wings. They fly swiftly through the air, Fel's lance leveled toward Mach. He attempts to drive the weapon into the dragon's body as he flies past. The lance sinks deeply and the image that was not Mach bursts back into it's magical base. Wheeling around once past, Fel and Daken speak at once. "You cannot defeat us foolish Mortals... we are Legion... we are many." Arcanus grins, drawing his own greatsword as he takes a step away from Calibrus. His eyes shift to Gix himself and, cocking his arms back he hurls his sword across the battlefield at the small figure on dragonback. Gix narrowly avoids the blade, his size saving him as the blade spins through the same location a larger man's head might have been. It spins past the Kobold and twirls back across the field to Arcanus' hand. ((Shar is up, and actually Screamer jumped the gun and skipped her turn. So if shar would like to, she may take an action that would have taken place before the recent string of rounds.)) |

The obscene amount of magial bolts streak through the sky and vanish when they come into range of Arcanus, a faint, shimmering sphere flows like water from their touch. He looks up toward the little creature in suprise and stares at him while he flys past. Calibrus pushes backwards away from the man about five feet, keeping himself hovering in air he concentrates and his weapon elongates, shifting and changing into a long, metallic glaive. Arcanus nods his head toward Calibrus, Fel, flying high above, reacts and plumets. Flying down and stabbing at the man, Fel's lance is barely dodged by the winged Calibrus. Daken likewise cannot get his jaws onto the man and they fly past without much luck. Climbing again to a higher point, about 80ft to the side of the many Machs. Arcanus stares after the dragon riding kobold, watching and calculating. He examines the rider and dragons before raising his hands and weaving a spell. When he is finished he directs the energies toward Gix, and a cloud begins to descend upon the Kobold's mind. Gix needs to make a will save VS feeblemind DC 22 It is Shar's turn. |

Arcanus stumbles, staggering and wounded, the cuts opening large portions of his chest and side. The strike combined with the array of missiles that burst through his magical protections seem to have the man quite wounded, his body standing with no pain felt by that within. |

However, the poison seeps into her and weakens her. It is then that the storm of silver magic comes down in a blinding rain before her. Crashing into Arcanus' body and exploding outward. The silver flash is the last thing she can see clearly before she sees no more. Shar takes 3 con damage from Arcanus' veil then 42 damage from Gix's missiles secondary effect. |

"You are fools! You cannot defeat me, I am Legion! I am many!" Arcanus raises his hand and a cone of energy errupts from the palm of his hand outward, flowing over Calibrus. Again, a red beam strikes the man and seems to cause him no harm, save perhaps to his clothing. Fel swoops around for another pass, flying downward toward Calibrus. He pulls back and lowers his lance, attempting once more to plunge his lance into the man. The lance strikes the man's skin and simply deflects off of it, as though it were as hard as steel itself. Fel and Daken both appear quite annoyed as Daken as well fails to peirce the man's skin with his jaws. "This worm is not what it seems." |

When they are in position, a wraith-like figure appears in the center of the sphere. The creature has no discernable body below it's black robe, nor does any hint of it's face show from beneath the hood. It looks upward toward Gix and all around the creature below on the ground, others drift up out of the earth, visible only to Gix with his enhanced sight. They float all around the sphere, swinging their ethereal hands at the surface. Calibrus as well appears much different through Gix's sight, but none like those that float around him. With all these creatures floating around it and Fel watching and waiting, the creature begins to speak. "Well done rider. But this will not kill us, and you cannot hold us forever. Release us now and leave this place... and you will be spared. If you do not, your friend will finish you all and we will simply wait for your bodies to expire. Or perhaps you would like to be my new host? I can grant you great power, great strengths." |

"We are one, we are powerful, behold our QUICKSILVER LOTUS!" And with that a tidal wave of magical energy erupts from the two across the figures below them bouncing between each of the beings around them. But when they are finished exploding and striking at unseen targets, Calibrus sees the devestation wrought. All around him bodies begin to appear, falling to the ground in piles. The gaunt, horrid form of these creatures is difficult to view. Their human-like bodies withered, flesh tight to their bones. Their heads bear many sets of eyes and their mouths drip a foul-smelling goo even as they lay dying. Some are clad in hardened organic armor, concealing their bodies. The thing in the orb looks up toward Gix and emits a shrieking laugh. It's eyes suddenly flare to life beneath the cowl before dying down again to a black nothingness. Daken shouts loudly in some foreign tongue, his words carrying through the mountainous region. With them, the gates to the keep grind open. "Impressive tiny one, but do you think you have slain all of my servants? You assault a keep, surely you do not think it so ill garrisoned. My soldiers will fight to the death for me, this prison will never hold me for long. Even one of your own does my bidding, you cannot hope to win this battle. Do you hear them? Here come the drums." Indeed the beat of war drums echoes from within the keep's interior as the gates are swung open. The sounds of assembling troops echoes though the eerily quiet mountain air, only the sounds made by the warriors and the coming force audible. Upon hearing the creature's words and the drums that beat from within the keep's walls. Calibrus turns from the ghastly figures and flys toward the building's entrance, taking a place beyond the courtyard, covered by the Keep's own outer wall. He closes his eyes and his body begins to change, multiple heads growing from an enlarging trunk of a body. His limbs grow thicker and he lowers to the ground on all fours as he expands to more than twice his size. A pair of draconic wings grow from his thick skinned back and each head takes on similar appearances. When the transformation is complete a cross between hydra and red dragon stands upon the ground just past the outer gate. One head swings back toward Gix and nods. From it's mouth comes Calibrus' voice. "If you have a plan, then it might be best to enact it swiftly, I don't know how long I'll be able to hold them off, not that it appears you need such assistance." Fel turns with Daken toward Gix, he spurs the dragon and the two begin to charge forward. It is not the lance that is used this time however. In passing over the images of Mach, Daken opens his mouth and a burst of flame pours outward, spraying over all of the images and the real dragon alike. 24 fire damage, DC 23 for half |

| Orcy The Green Wonder04-25-08, 03:51 PM | Despite Daken's struggels to hurl Fel from the saddle, Fel manages to hang onto the dragon's back. Keeping his grip on the saddle, however he cannot manage to do a great deal more than hang on with the beast's twisting and rolling. Seeing the latest turn of events, the creature trapped within the sphere shouts toward the keep. "Kill them! Kill them all!" Upon his words a large force begins to march forth from the keep's interior, making their way toward the battlements on top and the gateway down below. When the first soldiers have reached it they swing open the gateway, only to be greeted by the monstrous form that Calibrus has taken. All seven heads grin at once when the gates are opened and Calibrus lowers them closer to the ground. Opening each of his seven maws the heat in the area rises. Instantly a gout of flame pours from the opened maws of the draconic creature. The fire burns across the ranks of monstrous soldiers that lurk within the keep. Their organic armor and flesh burning away with the flames. The screams of many creatures echo through the mountain air, and with them shouts in a hideous gutteral language. From the battlements, gaunt creatures open fire with their bows on the draconic beast below them. Hardly the elite archers that had struck before, only two arrows sink into the beast's hard flesh, and even those wounds immediately begin to close themselves. The 'beast in the bubble' can only look on angrily as his plans slowly unravel around him. |

The creature screams an unholy, hideous sound, screaching in pain. Seconds later the creature is dead, it's body collapsing into a heap, covered by it's cloak. With the death of the creature, chaos errupts inside of the keep. Knights battling against the black clad monstrosities that lurk within the building. Calibrus as well approaches and with seven heads begins to tear into the creatures until none are left at the entrance. |

They both chuckle, a little menacingly, and then Mach and Gix rocket forward and around the keep watching the ongoings and Gix slinging magic missiles upon any lowly fiend trying to escape his sight. "Brothers! For we are DRAGONS! That is something that instills fear in most men! Let them know who they fight for! Let them know that they are 'safe' as long as they stick within our rule!" Once we have rested, I believe we should perhaps return her to her crew. They will know her wishes in regards to her death." Lower down the path where the battle's end was fought, the first contingent of knights to be met in the surrounding land near the keep make their way up the path. They stare at the keep, smiling slightly until they come to the body of Arcanus, where they lower themselves to the ground. They stare down at their Lord and a few of them begin to weep. |

But... we will ask for your services. We will come and go as we please. We ask for your allegiance, your oath, and your obediance. This is now our home as well. Mach and Gix then begin hovering above the men. "Bury your general..." And they take back to the skies, blasting away more fo the wretched resin from their new home. |

They turn from the keep, eyes filled with sadness and a burning sense of pride. The men gather their wounded and dead, those carrying Arcanus taking toward the front of the procession. Once gathered, they form up into ranks, Knights with bloodstained armor and ragged visage. The shouts of orders are given, and the men begin to march forward, making their way down from the keep and marching toward parts unknown. The last march for the Knights of Ghashmal Keep. |

After she speaks the smile still gleams on his face. "My love, it is good to see you, all-mother be praised. Transgressions? Shar? I know not of what you speak but... you have always seen that which has been lost to me. But which ever it matters not, she has fallen in battle and we are preparing to search our newly gained keep. Yes my love... a keep. The dogs of war now have a base of operations and this world will soon feel our presence." With that Fel, Avorio, and Daken fly down to the doors of the keep. Dismounting Fel wades through the gore and pulls his greatsword from the sheathe and walks around plunging it into any corpse that he thinks may still be capable of life. He makes sure to gather any coin he finds as well as separating the weapons that look as if they can still be used for battle. Looking up he calls to his comrades. "Jump in everyone, the spoils arent going to separate themselves from the fallen. We should move in to the keep and attempt to organize as best we can before we head out to tyrannor to gather supplies." |

After seeing you performance in battle however I have to ask you. Have you thought of aligning yourself with any of the guilds in tyrannor? With the aquisition of this keep I intend to return to Tyrannor and register the Dogs of War. Perhaps, you would think of joining us? Our numbers are small now but in time our compatriots will come. Gix laughs and Mach's eyes fill with fiery greed and almost throwing Gix off his wings beat downward and he rockets towards keep, Gix hanging onto the reigns in almost terror. I know I would hate to be on the opposing end of that lance, that I can say for certain. It would seem however I was lucky in this battle. You fought well, and your friend's magic was impressive, I... was that there before?" Calibrus ends abruptly, staring at a neatly rolled scroll that sits in a clear spot on the floor, untouched by the bloodshed and chaos around the castle's entrance. I think I have found my home. Wanton destruction! Gold to be had! Fel, this land will surely do!" Placing both hands to the corners of her mouth she shouts loudly into the castle. "Osvith'kosj'gix!!! Front door! Strange Scroll! Hurry!" Skipping to Calibrus she feigns a curtsy and introduces herself. "Well met my brother! I am Avorio Drakensteed! Talon of Tiamat, scourge of the weak, breathe of the all-mother, wife of Fel, proud ***** of War! Well met, well met indeed!" Turning inward again her voice flies shrill through the keep. "By the all-mother! "Quick" little claw my backside! " |

When she speaks to him he smiles and bows to her with a slight flourish. "Well met Lady Drakensteed. Today, I am Sir Calibrus Uth Damarus." He appears inclined to continue onward but it is then that Gix begins reading the scroll. "Winter's bite, summer's breeze, all these things belong to me. The raging rushing winds that whirl are just a part of my grand world. Thunder and lightning, storms of the sky, upon my arms even dragons fly. In highest peeks that call my name, the echoes can be heard. If bold and brave you name yourselves then come and try your luck. Guardian of storm and thunder's voice, come if you dare, make your choice." "Well... that is... quite interesting." Calibrus raises a brow and looks toward the others for their reactions. |

Gix's eyes still shimmer with his True Sight as Mach's focuses his Detect Magic and his Blindsense to find their way around. Mostly looking for secret passages because, as every adventurer knows, secret passages lead to secret treasures. | Gulien05-06-08, 12:29 PM | As he walks deeper into the castle Fel picks up the scroll and looks it over again before folding it and placing it withing Daken's saddlebag. Walking into the throne room he stops and looks around and faces Daken. Fel:"The day is done my brother and the battles have been won let us relax a bit." Daken:"Aye, my wings are sore from the efforts as of late. A day or two for rest will do even I some good." Walking to the throne Fel takes the sheathe from his back and lays on the ground next to the throne and then sits. Looking around he takes in the throne room and yawns. "This scroll is worrysome my friends. It was placed directly under our noses and none of us noticed. That is either extreme magic or extreme stealth and I have a stomach for neither unless it is in an ally of mine. The message itself is a separate matter though. We are challenged. I am not one to deny a challenge and neither are we all as the Dogs of War. On the morrow we will talk of this in more depth. But for now let us rest. I am saddle sore and have wounds that need tending." OOC:I dont know how well kept the keep is but if it is functional Fel is going to unsaddle Daken, retire to the baths, wash up, come back, clean his armor and weapons then look for a place to sleep. People are welcome to accompany him ofcourse. |

When the barding is off Essux approaches Daken and speaks in the ancient tongue of dragons. Essux:"Hello, little-red. I have missed you. This castle, there is gold in it, I know, I can smell it. How would you feel about a look? " Avorio leaves the dragons behind in the throne room and follows Fel in search of a bath. When she finds it she takes it upon herself to "warm up" the water with a flow of flame from her mouth until the water begins to steam soothingly. She enters the bath with him and hugs closely being sure to avoid his wounds. "I have missed you. This keep is a good welcome though. Rest now, I shall try to help soothe your wounds." Essux is taking a 10 on the search through out the keep. For a 30. She doesnt have all the fancy smancy magic stuff though. So boo. Hopefully Daken will join her and give Avorio and Fel a moment to themselves. |

Sore from the days battle he growls begrudingly at the thought of moving more but the fact that he is indeed a Red Dragon and there is shiny treasure to be had comes into play as he stands and grunts. "Yes, I shall come with you. With any luck there will be a room full of gold. The floor is no place for a dragon to sleep and I do not wish to spill my horde until I am sure of this place's safety." | Orcy The Green Wonder05-07-08, 02:00 PM | The three dragons travel through the keep, examining every room, corner and hole that they come across. Amongst their travels they come across a kitchen which is stocked with food, including some meats and a lot of local roots and plants. They find, as well, a training area located on one side of the keep. There are many rooms throughout the keep, the largest of which is situated directly behind the throne room, finely decorated and possessing tapestries and small statues. Little glows in the room save perhaps the bed under Gix's magical detection, likewise, a statue that stands just outside the door of the room has a magical aura about it. Within this room, there lies a hidden door, located behind one of the larger tapestries it swings open and reveals a personal bath. Located upon one wall above a table with bathing supplies rests a greatsword. It too emits a magical aura. On the other side of the throne room, the storage room is located. This room is locked by a heavy door, but being dragons, they have no problem opening it. Inside are many sacks that, upon being moved, appears to be full of coin. Upon a shelf at the far side of the room there rest a ring that emits it's own aura as does a pair of goggles resting beside them. While much of the keep itself is cleaned out, the armory holds a number of magical armors and a few weapons that radiate a magical aura, though they are faint there are a fair number of them. Plate armor, chain shirts, Very large bows, as well as a few rings and even a pair of wands. Two large maces as well rest in the weapons racks and there are a few weapons outside the keep by the bodies of the dead. Including a longspear and a shining breastplate. Overall, there are a good number of weapons, enough perhaps to equip a small army with magical arms, and a number more with non-magical. One of the most magical items in the keep however is the throne itself, which seems to have a number of different auras on it. The walls too seem to bear within them a magical energy, focused around the throne room and a particular block of stone. This block has a peculiar feature, a G glows on it's surface when the magic-sensing sight of the dragon and kobold passes over it. While the dragons search and their riders play, Calibrus walks about the keep, doging out of the way of small speeding dragons bearing kobolds. As they search for magic and discover the treasures that the Keep holds, Calibrus makes his way downward into the basement area of the keep. There, he is force to pause and shout back up the stairs. "My friends, you may wish to see this!" |

When he arrives she frowns with her bottom lip jutting out and a child like whine in her voice as she asks him for help. "Daken, I am wet. Daken... I am COLD. Help me my friend, I did not pack a towel!" Daken having done this many times in the past knows what she is insinuating and walks to her. Standing less than 3 feet away he opens his toothy maw. Smiling maniacally she extends her arms outward and prepares herself. From deep within his gullet flames pour over her body and evaporate any remnants of bath water. When the flames disperse she is standing there smiling. Jumping up she hugs Daken around his neck before he leaves. Essux comes to her at the end of this and smiles at Avorio. Essux:"One of these days you should allow me to..."dry" you." Avorio:"The day that happens my sister,you will be without a rider. Now enough. Let us go see what that Calibrus man is shouting about." Jumping Avorio mounts Essux and the two go to Calibrus. Jumping down she stands before them and dances around like a child at the summons. Avorio:"What oh what? Is all, if all? This clamour, so clamourously. About?!" |

Those who's eyes can cut through the darkness below the keep can see it. A gaunt creature covered in thick organic armor. One of those that they had fought up above. It is huddled in the corner of the room, shaking and cowering, staring toward the group through the helm of it's armor. "That. That is what this is about." The thing yelps, and it's voice comes shakily from behind the helmet, a sort of broken common with a heavy accent from some distant, mad world. "Don't... don't kill... please... not... kill me." |

Some part human in the middle of some terrible transformation. All of them have been cut by a very thin weapon, sliced at the throat in some situations, cut down in battle in others it appears. One or two also show signs of singes on their bodies. When Fel looks on the scene the creature whimpers again and shakes it's head. "All... mad..." |

Why havent I killed you already? Ugh." Walking back out from behind the wall Fel speaks to his friends. "There is some sort of twisted mutilated body thing in there. Looks like its part of these demons and has some human parts as well. I dont understand the importance of it all though, like I said, magic... not my thing. Im up for letting Avorio have some fun in there and just going upstairs to bed. You lot?" |

All those voices, hearing the thoughts and words of your closest friends and family at all times. But then suddenly... having them silenced." |

A moment of sympathy leaks into his heart as he knows how it feels to be of one mind with one whom is close to you. However it lasts for no longer than a moment. "It is our enemy. I care not for its losses. Had it been any sort of a warrior it would have found and died with its brethern as I would fight and die along you all. Someone kill it or Gix keep it for your experiments I am going now." With that Fel and Daken go up the stairs and retire for the night. |

Avorio:"Do not be afraid little thing, mama Avorio is here to take away all your problems! Hahahahaha!" At the end of her cackle she and Essux let loose a torrent of draconic breath on the little thing. Far beyond overkill a torrent of flame and a blood red beam hit the little thing scorching it seconds before disintegrating it. Avorio is Maximizing Breath and doing 114 damage reflex 30 for half. Essux is Using Heighten Breath and breathing her disintegrate on the thing. Fort Save 36 or be disintegrated. |

The corpse's head turns toward it then back to Gix. "Can... useful... being." With his enhanced sight, Gix can see the creature leave the corpse and fly over to Calibrus, moving into the man's sword. The sword suddenly bursts into flames and sparks with electricity. |

The lance begins to glow with a dark energy and feels heavier, though it's balance is perfect in Fel's hand. It shifts and thunder, fire and ice burst along the surface of the lance. Again, it shifts and takes a reddish glow, a feeling as if the weapon itself hungers for blood comes upon it. |

Donning his armor he goes and checks on Daken who has found a room for himself and lays sleeping still, a line of smoke lazily floating from his nostril. Walking the walls he looks out on the lands and knows that all he can see will be their domain farther yet when the time comes. He stands on the battlements and thinks about their future. |

Standing up she scratches herself here, there, everywhere and the skin that was soft and unmarred begins to toughen. Soon her entire body is covered in brilliant scales and she dons her clothing and her cloak. Looking about she skips through the halls of her new keep, singing a little song as she goes. "Where oh where could my lovely Fel be? Oh where oh where could he beee? With his lovely strong arms and vicious brevity, oh where oh where could he be?!" After a while she comes upon him standing at the battlements looking out. "A platinum for your thoughts my love." |

Return to Tyrannor and send for our followers? I am sure there will be time for all, but it still weighs heavily on the mind." He hugs her and looks down to kiss her on the forehead when he spots Calibrus advancing on them. He nods to the man of many... everythings and calls out to welcome him. "How does the morning find you my brother? What plans do you have for the future and how might we help?" |

But for now I would like to return the captain's body to Tyrannor and her crew. She did what she could against those demons... I suppose, and the least we could do is return her body to them." The man's body changes, along with his clothing. A red shirt, sleeves cut from the arms appears over his body, carrying a wolf's-head insignia on the chest. His hair shortens and rises in spikes, paling and turning white. His colorful pants turn black along with much of that which he wears turning black and red. When finally he stops before the two his eyes shift to a red color as well. "Of course, this is only if you find such a thing reasonable. She was a good woman... and an ally. But I am a newcomer, it is not up to me, I don't believe. After that perhaps I'll gather some supplies or... maybe con some fool out of his coin." As he speaks the last words his form changes to that of a busty redhead in too-tight clothing. The woman winks and does a little bounce before changing back into the man with white hair. "Anything is possible." |

"Of course, it would be wholly disrespectful to keep the captain's body from her crew after she so valiantly fought and fell in battle. Regardless of her actions prior to meeting us or her questionable alignment, she fought along side us as if she were a Dog of War." Kissing his wife on the head again he leaves her and goes to Calibrus. Placing his arm around the being's shoulder he begins to walk down the battlements. "As for the question of your say as a newcomer. You are a full-fledged member of our organization. We trust in your abilities and your motivations in all things. You bring a new viewpoint on things that may be lost to Avorio, Gix, Daken, Mach, Essux, and I. So never miss the chance to speak your mind. Might makes right is what we say and I would be at a loss to speak the name of one we have ever met more able to wade into battle than yourself." Stopping he faces the man, as he is right now, and stands tall. "Now I have a question of you. I have business in Tyrannor, would you give me the honor of accompanying you while you deliver our comrade's body?" |

He walks along with a military stride rather than the fanciful walk that he had previously shown. When Fel has finished speaking he pats the man on the back and grins. "Of course, I've no problem with you accompanying me. There is much to do and little time to do it, always something that needs to be brought about. It seems much time has passed since we've come here but it has been little in truth. I've much I wish to accomplish, as I'm sure you do. There is also the matter of that strange note. While we are in the city I'll have to check out the library for any clues." He turns to face Fel and cracks his knuckles. "Oh... and today... I think I shall be Jacob Nohrr." |

"To the city my love? We can have all sorts of fun there. Let us leave soon though. I have not seen Gix all morning, no doubt sequestered somewhere hidden, studying this keep and its magics. Though we should still invite him." Turning he places his hands to his mouth and calls for Gix. Moments after he does so Daken appears fully saddled and looking well rested. |

Immediately she begins to bustle about. Returning she has all of her gear and appears ready to leave, Essux is quick in tow as she comes back to the battlements. "Oh yes, oh yes. I musn't forget that! Essux was just reminding me of when last we were in tyrannor. We were watching and there was a fanciful orc being led about by an impetuous drow on a shopping spree, it was rather funny.... though they did have one marvelous ottoman... I am ready to depart! Lets get a move on people! " |

"Alright... lets see... keeping up with a dragon... that isn't Mach." Jacob extends his arms and feathers begin to form, stretching wide and growing larger as his body does likewise. His arms become wings and his legs shift and change into clawed feet. A long plumage tail and a tuft of feathers grow around his head in a crown while his face elongates into a beak. When the transformation is complete, a huge bird of prey stands in 'Jacob's' place. It bears a single feather between it's nostrils and many more along it's body, with a pair of irregularly shaped pupils shifting toward the Dakensteeds within yellow eyes. The creature's beak begins to move. "This should do nicely, as long as we aren't trying to keep up with Mach I should have no trouble." |

Seconds later Daken rises them into the sky and they begin their journey back. "Let us leave Gix to his studies, no doubt if want overtakes him he will catch up to us in less time than it would take us to get to Tyrannor and back." |

They both stretch and yawn once more, Gix clinging onto Mach's back. With a long fluid motion his wings outstretch and slam backwards as Gix weaves a spell. They rocket forward, Mach's body reacting with almost double his normal speed. ((Heading out full speed, Gix casting haste on Mach... Moving at 1,400 ft per round all out flight)) |
