| Dyne01-25-07, 05:27 PM | 611th Year of the Reign of the Kings (Year 1457 in the Tyranorian Chronology) The peaceful times for the Kingdom of Aervenia are about to end. A storm is brewing in the distance, one that will change the face of the land forever. It is a week and a half from Prince William III's 17th birthday. Behind the fanfare and celebration, his true destiny (and that of his comrades) is about to begin. Their path will be a long and difficult one, and they will face many dark times. However, it shall be their choice as to how it ends. | Dyne01-25-07, 05:59 PM | The Creation of the World Millennia ago, the substance of the Elemental Planes was combined, forming the Material Plane. The elemental spirits, known as the Osorum, breathed life into the plane, creating its first inhabitants. These first people are now known as the Ancients. The greatest and most powerful of the elemental spirits, the Primori, became the deities of the world. Timeline of the Kings Year 1 (847 T.C.) Aervenia is founded by Richard Aervenia I at age 48. Year 16 (862 T.C.) Richard I dies at the age of 63 of illness. Harold II is left as king at the age of 36. Year 32 (878 T.C.) Harold II is killed in a bandit raid at the age of 52, leaving his 23 year old son, William I, to take over the throne. Year 74 (920 T.C.) William I dies of measles at the age of 65. Edward I takes over the throne at the age of 40. Year 93 (939 T.C.) Edward I (age 59) is killed by Casimir, who takes over the throne for a short time. However, he is killed by Edward's son, Aaron, to avenge his father. Aaron reclaims the throne at age 29. Year 106 (952 T.C.) Aaron is slain in battle at age 42. His son, Kent, ascends to the crown at age 20. Year 139 (985 T.C.) Kent is assassinated at age 53 by his brother Emrys, beginning the Blood Feud. His 32 year old son, John I, battles with Emrys over control of the throne. John I is victorious, and Emrys' followers are banished from Gaia. Year 176 (1022 T.C.) John I passes away at age 69. Rance becomes king at age 42. Year 187 (1033 T.C.) Rance is poisoned at age 53, reawakening the Blood Feud. Paul II takes the throne at age 24. War engulfs the kingdom for many years. Year 190 (1036 T.C.) Paul II is slain by the Emrys Remnant at age 29. His infant son, James II, is too young to rule, and so the kingdom is lead by the Steward Edward. Year 200 (1046 T.C.) The Steward Edward is slain by the Emrys Remnant, which seizes the kingdom. 10 year old James II is snuck into hiding. Emrys IV takes the throne, beginning the Rule of Darkness. Year 607 (1453 T.C.) Edward III dies of old age at the age of 73. Richard II takes over the throne at age 41. Prince William III is age 13. Deities Primori The Primori are the most ancient and powerful of the deities. They are the creators of Gaia and the races that inhabit it. | Dyne01-25-07, 06:07 PM | Gaia, a world created of all the elements and energies of the multiverse. Even millennia after the elemental spirits brought life to the Material Plane, the mark of the elements remains upon its peoples. Whether they realize it or not, each being is bound in some way to the element of his bloodline. This setting has a special new mechanic: Elemental Alignment. Each character is attuned to one of the four elements (Air, Earth, Fire, Water), and this alignment has an effect on how the character interacts with spells, effects, and other characters of the various alignments. Each element has an opposing element and two complimentary elements: Air: Opposed by Earth, complimented by Fire and Water Earth: Opposed by Air, complimented by Fire and Water Fire: Opposed by Water, complimented by Air and Earth Water: Opposed by Fire, complimented by Air and Earth Each element is associated with an energy type: Air: Electricity Earth: Acid Fire: Fire Water: Cold Base Effect: +1 saves against spells and effects that match your element +1 caster level when using a spell that matches your element +1 Cha-based checks when interacting with a character that matches your element -1 saves against spells and effects that oppose your element -1 caster level when using a spell that opposes your element -1 Cha-based checks when interacting with a character that opposes your element Racial Tendencies: Originally, each race (except Humans) was aligned to a single element. However, the bloodlines of current times are not as pure as they used to be, and so characters have some choice in their elemental alignment. Even so, some races are forbidden from certain elemental alignments. Humans: Do not favor any element over another. Can be any elemental alignment. Dwarves: Mostly Earth-aligned. Can also be Fire- or Water-aligned. Forbidden from being Air-aligned. Elves: Can be Air-, Fire-, or Water-aligned. Forbidden from being Earth-aligned. Goblinoids: Mostly Earth- and Fire-aligned. Can also be Air-aligned. Forbidden from being Water-aligned. Gnomes: Mostly Earth- and Fire-aligned. Can also be Air-aligned. Forbidden from being Water-aligned. Half-Elves: More Air-aligned than others. Can be any elemental alignment. Half-Orcs: More Fire-aligned than others. Can be any elemental alignment. Halflings: Mostly Water-aligned. Can also be Air- or Earth-aligned. Forbidden from being Fire-aligned. Ogres: Can be Earth-, Fire-, or Water-aligned. Ogre warriors tend towards Fire and Earth, while Ogre Mages are almonst exclusively Water-aligned. Forbidden from being Air-aligned. Orcs: Mostly Fire-aligned. Can also be Air- or Earth-aligned. Forbidden from being Water-aligned. Trolls: Mostly Water-aligned. Can also be Air- or Earth-aligned. Forbidden from be Fire-aligned. | Dyne01-26-07, 10:29 PM | To start off discussion, here's the list of character ideas/concepts/roles, according to my latest knowledge: jagggar: Some kind of divine character, possibly unarmed/unarmored, possibly a Warforged. Changes mind far too much. Orcy: Dex-based Knight/Swashbuckler. Not an Elf. Skully: Changeling Scout? I really have no idea what he wants to play, haven't heard from him in awhile. Nightscreamer: Changeling Rogue. So we have the fighters covered, and we'll have at least one stealthy character. Only problem is our lack of spellcasters, arcane and divine. Prince William will be running around with you guys quite a bit, so he might be able to fill that arcane slot at later levels. It looks like Jagggar is planning on playing a divine spellcaster in some form. However, I would really like to see those two roles confirmed. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-26-07, 10:58 PM | Orcy lives, so he will post here to let you know such. Since you have asked him to do so. His character has been sent via Private Message so by the time you read this you will likely know that. |
| Dyne01-27-07, 01:23 AM | There are more people interested in this game than I expected. I might end up opening a second group (which may have its own separate adventures, occasionally interacting with the other group). Thoughts? |
| Sssargoth01-27-07, 01:52 AM | It would be a pretty good idea actually, although I hope Im not the one that caused the overabundance in popularity. Also, how can the Water element be both opposed and complimented by the Air element? |
| Dyne01-27-07, 01:58 AM | Also, how can the Water element be both opposed and complimented by the Air element? Oops. Fixed now. Actually, I had thought about running a sort of "duel campaign" for quite awhile now. Always seemed like an interesting idea, not to mention being able to prevent having a party with like 10 PC's without having to exclude people. We would probably either have a group of "good guys" and "bad guys," or two groups on the same side. |
| Sssargoth01-27-07, 02:16 AM | I just noticed something else. You have Gruumsh up there twice, and apparently his portfolios are Gnomes, Humor, and Gemcutting. Both times. I'm glad I'm not the reason for your contemplation of running a dual campagn. Unless you do mean a duel campagn, in which case things would just get messy.:P |

I'm glad I'm not the reason for your contemplation of running a dual campagn. Unless you do mean a duel campagn, in which case things would just get messy.:P :bored: You know you're going to be the first one of your group to die, right? j/k Apparently I was even more tired than I thought when I typed this stuff up. I'll fix it up real quick before posting the first IC threads. |
| Sssargoth01-27-07, 02:45 AM | :bored: You know you're going to be the first one of your group to die, right? j/k Wouldnt be the first time. Aint gunna be the last. |
| Zombomaniac01-27-07, 04:18 PM | I'll join in on this to. Just give me s bit of time to think up a PC. I'll likely try and fill that caster role at least a little. |
| turalisj01-27-07, 04:45 PM | I'd love to join. How does a treelord elf (dragon magic) dragonfire adept (also dragonmagic)? I can send you all the information you would need. |
| Dyne01-27-07, 06:09 PM | I'd love to join. How does a treelord elf (dragon magic) dragonfire adept (also dragonmagic)? I can send you all the information you would need. Sounds like an interesting combination (I truly have absolutely no idea what those are). Send me a PM with the specifics. Okay, this is what our player's list looks like: Jagggar Orcy the Green Wonder Skull_of_Shadow Nightscreamer20 Wilds Thasis CaptainShar Sssargoth Zombomaniac Turalisj I think I'm gonna have to cut if off there. 10 players is enough to handle. We will have two groups: protagonists ("good guys") and antagonists ("bad guys"). The protagonists are aligned with the Kingdom of Bristol, and as such are defending it from the atagonists, who are trying to bring it down. Protagonists should tend towards Lawful Good alignments, or at least have a good reason for fighting on behalf of Bristol. Antagonists tend toward Chaotic Evil, or have a good reason for being against Bristol (perhaps they believe the kingdom is corrupt, and therefore it must be destroyed). I will send more information about the antagonists to the members of the group once it has been formed. I believe Jagggar, Orcy, Skull, and Nightscreamer all still want to be part of the "good guys" group. We would still need one more for this group, and the rest of you would make up the "bad guys". So: Who wants to be what side? |
| Sssargoth01-27-07, 08:42 PM | Depends on if you are approving the Silverbrow humans from Dragon Magic. I already sent you the game mechanics to you. If your approving, then Im with the good guys. If not, Im probably going to just blow stuff up at random and even the bad guys won't want me... Yay for pure chaos! |
| turalisj01-27-07, 08:50 PM | For the dragonfire adept, think warlock meets dragon. They are stronger (hp wise) than the warlock, but cannot get armor. |
| turalisj01-27-07, 08:51 PM | Depends on if you are approving the Silverbrow humans from Dragon Magic. I already sent you the game mechanics to you. If your approving, then Im with the good guys. If not, Im probably going to just blow stuff up at random and even the bad guys won't want me... Yay for pure chaos! I think it'd be best if me an Sssargoth are sperate.... My character is going to be NE.... |
| Dyne01-27-07, 10:15 PM | Depends on if you are approving the Silverbrow humans from Dragon Magic. I already sent you the game mechanics to you. If your approving, then Im with the good guys. If not, Im probably going to just blow stuff up at random and even the bad guys won't want me... Yay for pure chaos! Silverbrow humans are approved. So the groups are: "Good Guys" Jagggar Orcy Skull Nightscreamer Sssargoth "Bad Guys" Wilds Thasis Zombo Turalisj CaptainShar Any objections? Any changes people want made? |
| CaptainShar01-28-07, 12:10 AM | What does everyone want to play? I'm thinking a swashbuckler would be fun for me (the wizard PM was submitted for when I thought an arcane caster was the desired role), but I'm open to pretty much anything except Paladin. I love Paladins, but I'm playing three already right now, and since I'm a bad guy...y'know. Also, maybe not a divine caster. But I'm open to fitting into the group depending on what other people want to play. |
| turalisj01-28-07, 12:36 AM | I'll be playing a Forestlord Elf Dragonfire Adept with a tatoo of a green dragon covering 90% of his body. He also spits fire. :D |
| Skull_of_Shadow01-28-07, 12:55 AM | Wait, I'm a good guy? That'll be new. |
| Sssargoth01-28-07, 01:00 AM | I just want to know if having the Dragonblood subtype qualifies for taking the Dragon Heritage Feats in Complete Arcane without haveing to take the Draconic Heritage feat. |
| CaptainShar01-28-07, 01:05 AM | I'm currently drawing up a CN Halfling Swashbuckler, Water-aligned. Are there any Water feats, btw? Should be fun...I just wish I had more books so I knew what a Forestlord Elf Dragonfire Adept with a tatoo of a green dragon was.  |
| Sssargoth01-28-07, 01:14 AM | I'm currently drawing up a CN Halfling Swashbuckler, Water-aligned. Are there any Water feats, btw? I honestly don't know about the feats. Should be fun...I just wish I had more books so I knew what a Forestlord Elf Dragonfire Adept with a tatoo of a green dragon was.  Forestlord Elf and Dragonfire Adept are from Dragon Magic. The forestlord is a variant elf with a green dragon heritage, just like the silverbrow is a variant human with a silver dragon heritage. Dragonfire Adept is the base class in Dragon Magic. Their like a warlock, except their "elderitch blast" is actually a breath weapon, and they get a few other things that warlocks don't but also don't get alot of the warlock stuff. This is gping to be interestion though. The bad guys have a Forestlord Elf Dragonfire Adept(turalisj), and the good guys have a Silverbrow Human Warlock(me). |
| Dyne01-28-07, 01:32 AM | I just want to know if having the Dragonblood subtype qualifies for taking the Dragon Heritage Feats in Complete Arcane without haveing to take the Draconic Heritage feat. I'm not sure if it does or not. What are the specifics of Dragonblood? I'm getting kinda flooded with PM's. If you have AIM, that would be a lot easier (you should be able to add me by clicking the little AIM icon on my post). Or just post it on the thread. EDIT: I'm guessing Dragonblood doesn't replace the Draconic Heritate feat. Even Half-Dragons can't get around the feat. |
| Sssargoth01-28-07, 01:51 AM | The Dragonblood subtype first appeared in Races of the Dragon, so that isn't too hard for you to look up, since you have the book. Well, looks like it's back to feat huntin' for me. |
| thasis01-28-07, 02:36 PM | Alright, I've decided I'll play whatever fills the party up. Whatever we're having a lack of. If we're not having a lack of anything, I'll play something else. I'm not sure what. So I'll post what I'm going to be once everybody in my party posts what they want to do. |
| Dyne01-28-07, 02:49 PM | Wait, I'm a good guy? That'll be new. What type of character were you gonna play? So far, our parties look like this: "Good Guys" Jagggar - Human Cleric Orcy - Human Fighter Skull - No idea Nightscreamer - Changeling Rogue Sssargoth - Silverbrow Human Warlock "Bad Guys" Wilds - No idea Thasis - Whatever's leftover Zombomaniac - No idea Turalisj - Forestlord Elf Dragonfire Adept CaptainShar - CN rebel character |
| Wilds01-28-07, 04:56 PM | Hey, sorry i havent posted, was out for the weekend, back now and will have an idea for my char later tonight once im settled back in at school |
| CaptainShar01-28-07, 05:07 PM | All set. CN Halfling Swashbuckler. I'll send it to Dyne as soon as he has PM space. Edit: Which would be now. |
| Wilds01-28-07, 09:05 PM | My character is either going to be a controlling sorcerer or a duskblade, i am not sure yet. just to be sure, Tome of Battle is not allowed correct? |
| turalisj01-28-07, 09:11 PM | I'd like to note that my character and Sssargot's will be an interesting fight... His: Silverbrow Human Warlock, good character Mine: Forestlord Elf Dragonfire Adept, evil character I'd like to see the two characters going at it when at level 20 :P |
| Dyne01-28-07, 10:28 PM | just to be sure, Tome of Battle is not allowed correct? I don't have the book, so it'll be difficult to do. However, if there is anything from the book that you would like to use, tell me the details of what it does and I'll try to work with it. EDIT: Also, just thought I'd mention that I updated the Elemental Feats. I might add a few more. |
| Wilds01-29-07, 12:55 AM | It is far too complicated for me to be able to explain coherently with out the supporting text to show you, so its not worth it |
| jagggar01-29-07, 02:07 AM | I dunno about that. I almost had a Crusader going for a bit. (The cleric is at the very least my 3rd character idea.) Check out the web enahncement for the ToB. Makes playing a martial adept a lot eaiser. . . |
| Wilds01-29-07, 08:36 AM | I was looking at warblade, but i dont fully understand the system yet so was apprehensive |
| Dyne02-01-07, 08:45 PM | Just got my first batch of books in the mail today (UA, DMG2, and Heroes of Battle/Horror). Sorry for the delays, but we should be starting soon. The group of antagonists needs to collaborate on what role everyone is gonna fill in the party. |
| thasis02-01-07, 11:33 PM | Well I'm still feeling a warrior type, but if we don't have any spellcasters I could play a backup healer-esh cleric? My other idea was a Wilder. I had a friend who blew up mass amounts of heads with one. I might try that. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-02-07, 02:00 AM | Orcy suggests you evil folks all make spellcasters with evocation and conjuration as your forbidden schools. Yes indeed he does. While you are at it, make elves and put a low stat into con. |
| Dyne02-02-07, 02:49 AM | Orcy suggests you evil folks all make spellcasters with evocation and conjuration as your forbidden schools. Yes indeed he does. While you are at it, make elves and put a low stat into con. You're just jealous of our pointy-eared magnificence. :elf:  |

| jagggar02-02-07, 11:18 AM | What? New smilies? :cheer: :dancin: :w00t: :dancin: :cheer:* Now which hol- skull do you like better? :b: from Magic or :f: from. . . . that other game. *Ironic that I use old smilies to celebrate new ones, isn't it? |
| Wilds02-02-07, 05:22 PM | Thasis, you want melee? Ill take a sorcerer if you want to play in melee otherwise im gana be a duskblade |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-02-07, 08:18 PM | Orcy hasn't been able to do this in a while since images were enabled. But behold... the Orc Hug. http://www.geocities.com/edymnionii/OrcHug.txt Green and Wondrous baby... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353/BaddieX51/orcy.gif Ah, Orcy's smile tangent is over now, time to plot ways to kill you evil folks in your sleep. Actually, that'll do. |
| Wilds02-02-07, 10:51 PM | time to plot ways to kill you evil folks in your sleep. Actually, that'll do. Your good, you cant do that :P I can ^^ |
| turalisj02-02-07, 10:52 PM | Alignment is relative to views. Hell, everything is relative to one's perspective.... Just ask Einstien! :P |
| Zombomaniac02-02-07, 11:15 PM | Ok I need to pick my level one PC. I want something that can fight, heal, and cast a little..... Druid. Mabye Cleric. Now for the race...... |
| Wilds02-03-07, 02:03 AM | So we have a healerish fighter ish for sure a swashbuckler a dragonadept so thats melee, some ranged and healing so we need a dedicated arcane caster basically and possibly a skill person just me and thasis that need to make up our minds now |
| CaptainShar02-03-07, 01:29 PM | If necessary I can multiclass Rogue - I certainly have the INT to be able to rack up some skill ranks pretty quickly. I would prefer to not fight ranged all the time, but I am a mean shot with a slingshot. Halfling bonuses, and all that. |
| Dyne02-03-07, 02:05 PM | Ok I need to pick my level one PC. I want something that can fight, heal, and cast a little..... Druid. Mabye Cleric. Now for the race...... I'd go with Cleric, personally. Though I suppose Druid could work as well. Some free tips on the campaign, to make sure everyone gets the most out of it: -At least one of the heroes should be able to speak/read/understand Draconic. Same for the anti-heroes. Other good choices for languages: Abyssal, Aquan, Auran, Celestial, Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Goblin, Halfing, Ignan, Infernal, Orc, Terran. You might want to coordinate with the rest of your party on what languages everyone knows. -This game will involve quite a few undead, outsiders, elemental creatures, dragons, as well as a decent mix of others. -Much of the campaign will take place in dungeons, in cities, and on battlefields. In the later part of the game, we will also be doing some plane-hopping. -We will be using the rules for Taint (found in Heroes of Horror) and Honor (found in Unearthed Arcana), with some adjustments. --Everyone will start with 0 Taint and 0 Honor. --If you achieve Moderate Taint, characters with a Good alignment are considered to be Neutral (though their "base alignment" does not necessarily change). --If you achieve Severe Taint, your alignment is considered to be Evil (though your "base alignment" does not necessarily change). --Different things will be considered Honorable or Dishonorable depending on whether you're a hero or an antagonist (generally, acts of mercy are not considered honorable for antagonists [and may actually be the opposite], but the antagonists will be less affected by actions that are normally considered dishonorable). --Your status as Honorable or Dishonorable may have different effects depending on who you're interacting with (i.e. an allied character would be awed of an Honorable character [Diplomacy bonus], but an enemy character would be fearful [Intimidate bonus]). |

| Zombomaniac02-03-07, 03:06 PM | *snip* So dwindling it all down to stuff that is important RIGHT NOW we need: To as a group speak Draconic, Abyssal, Aquan, Auran, Celestial, Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Goblin, Halfing, Ignan, Infernal, Orc, Terran. Not every single person needs to speak them all but we need to cover them as a whole. And We need to be ready for undead, outsiders, elemental creatures, and dragon types. If I go Cleric we got something for undead right there and depending on what the feat says I might be able to turn/rebuke elementals aswell and turalisj has dragons covered. |

Not every single person needs to speak them all but we need to cover them as a whole. It's okay if you guys don't end up covering all of them, as long as you have Draconic (and possibly Auran). Just that, when selecting your languages, it would probably be more useful to select those ones than others. |
| CaptainShar02-03-07, 04:06 PM | I speak Common, Halfling, Gnome, Elven, and Aquan. Will it be incredibly ineffective to play the Critical-focused Swashbuckler? I like the look of the class, but if we're mostly fighting undead...on the other hand, I should have a better chance of hitting dragons' ACs. Finally, can someone point me to, or PM me, with an explanation of Taint/Honor? I don't have those books. I'm getting excited for this campaign - I've always wanted to try going to different planes. |

I like the look of the class, but if we're mostly fighting undead...on the other hand, I should have a better chance of hitting dragons' ACs. It will be the good guys more that will be facing the undead, so you should be just fine. And there should be a pretty even mix of enemies in any case, anyway. Finally, can someone point me to, or PM me, with an explanation of Taint/Honor? I don't have those books. Both are in Unearthed Arcana, but Taint has been revised in Heroes of Horror. Taint is like moral and physical corruption from evil. It can come from committing evil deeds, being in tainted locations, interacting with tainted items, being attacked by tainted monsters, etc. Taint can have a variety of effects, ranging from various physical illnesses to absolute insanity. Honor tracks how honorable you are considered by society based on your actions. Some actions can increase your honor (such as acquiring property, avenging a family member's murder, defeating enemies, fulfilling an oath, etc), while others can decrease your honor (being accused of crimes, breaking an oath, killing an unarmed/helpless foe, losing a contest, etc). Honor can have different effects, such as Sense Motive or Diplomacy bonuses, bonus to your Leadership score, etc). I'm getting excited for this campaign - I've always wanted to try going to different planes. Same here. So far, this is looking like it will be the best campaign I've ever run. I hope I don't disappoint. |
| Zombomaniac02-03-07, 04:40 PM | I don't know how I did it, but I took both of those befor even knowing how important they would be.:mage: Dont flatter yourself to much. Almost everyone takes Draconic as one of their languages.:P I need to look into HoH again read some more on Taint. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-03-07, 10:34 PM | Good ta see you all excited about the game here, but Orcy is waiting on reflex saves from Thasis and Zombo, and it is also their turns over on his thread. |

| CaptainShar02-05-07, 12:00 AM | Dyne, would you allow the feats from Complete Scoundrel that, variously, allow Swashbuckler levels to stack with Rogue levels for Sneak Attack damage, and allow Swashbuckler levels to stack with Scout levels for Skirmish damage? (If I'm understanding these correctly from a post over on the optimization board.) |
| Dyne02-05-07, 12:20 AM | Dyne, would you allow the feats from Complete Scoundrel that, variously, allow Swashbuckler levels to stack with Rogue levels for Sneak Attack damage, and allow Swashbuckler levels to stack with Scout levels for Skirmish damage? (If I'm understanding these correctly from a post over on the optimization board.) Wait, you're wanting to use feats from a book you don't have, that you're not even sure exactly how they work? |
| NightScreamer2002-05-07, 12:21 AM | Well for my "group" (I think thats Orcy, Jagggdar, and Sssargy if I'm correct... but could be wrong); I have you covered on Stealth and Social-Antics... not much for combat but... who needs combat when I look like... your dead mother, who never really died in that fire, no, I'm serious, I escaped but turns out I must have hit my head because I forgot everything until just recently and came back to look for you! SON! |

| NightScreamer2002-05-07, 12:28 AM | Pffft... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-05-07, 02:39 AM | Dyne, would you allow the feats from Complete Scoundrel that, variously, allow Swashbuckler levels to stack with Rogue levels for Sneak Attack damage, and allow Swashbuckler levels to stack with Scout levels for Skirmish damage? (If I'm understanding these correctly from a post over on the optimization board.) There is no scout/swashbuckler feat in Complete Scoundrel that Orcy can see. The rogue one requires 3 levels of rogue at least before taking it, then scout and rogue levels stack for determining sneak attack damage. The question essentially is if she can make a character that takes a few levels of rogue and scout then goes swashbuckler and gets the best abilities of the other two classes at near full progression. Fortunately Orcy doesn't see a scout/swashbuckler feat so it wouldn't work (unless the feat is in another book). A nice trick, but since its from the CO boards, its probably a bit high end. |
| turalisj02-05-07, 07:54 AM | Hey nightscream, you do know to pm your character sheet to Dyne, right :P |
| CaptainShar02-05-07, 01:47 PM | OK, nevermind about the stacking. It seemed a little too good to be true. I am thinking a few levels of either Rogue or Scout eventually, so I can do more than 1d4 + 1 with my rapier, but I'll take them normally. |
| Dyne02-05-07, 03:29 PM | Hey nightscream, you do know to pm your character sheet to Dyne, right :P Oh well, at least this way conserves my PM space. And I don't have to worry about accidentally deleting it. Sorry things have been so delayed, I didn't expect a second group of players to join in (or for it to take this long for the books I ordered to get here...). Those of you that haven't finished your characters yet, take this time to finish them so we can get started quick. |
| Wilds02-06-07, 08:56 PM | Ill be a rogue, thats all im gana say for now |
| CaptainShar02-06-07, 09:55 PM | OK, I probably won't take my Swashbuckler that direction then - might grab a level or three for the sneak attack damage, but I won't focus on trap and lock skills. I'm thinking maybe Horizon Walker eventually - are we going to get that into the planes? |
| Dyne02-06-07, 10:00 PM | OK, I probably won't take my Swashbuckler that direction then - might grab a level or three for the sneak attack damage, but I won't focus on trap and lock skills. I'm thinking maybe Horizon Walker eventually - are we going to get that into the planes? There will be at least several adventures that take us across the planes. And even besides, the campaign will journey across the continent to other locations of various terrain, so you should get plenty of use out of the Horizon Walker. |
| Wilds02-06-07, 11:14 PM | What should i aim the rogue at? Im thinking assassin, but idk, something else would be interesting, black flame zealot? |
| Zombomaniac02-07-07, 12:26 AM | Here's a little something for everyone.:) I was typing up the thesis statement for an assignment in AP English, now I didn't realize this till the end, but intead of typing thesis I typed Thasis. So ya..... I just though at least Thasis would get a laugh out of that.:D |
| turalisj02-07-07, 10:16 PM | Hey, I found Orcy wearing his pimp suit! http://www.dungeoncrawlinc.com/comic121.html :D |

| Wilds02-08-07, 12:21 AM | :bounce: :heehee *runs* |
| turalisj02-08-07, 07:19 AM | *quickly hides Orcy's club* Sorry man, had to do it as soon as I saw that. |
| Demonfey02-09-07, 02:10 PM | Glad to see that things're actually happening here instead of what happened with the war games. |
| Dyne02-09-07, 02:46 PM | Glad to see that things're actually happening here instead of what happened with the war games. Long time no see. Glad to hear from you again. We probably have at least another week before the game officially kicks off. I have a good portion of the Heroes' side of the campaign mapped out, but I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the Antagonists. I'm also going to be rather busy this weekend with a bunch of schoolwork and things. We might start some arena tournament in a couple days. Give you guys something to do while I try to hammer out the details of the campaign and the first adventure. |
| Demonfey02-09-07, 03:38 PM | Who's on the Antagonist list? |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-09-07, 04:01 PM | I say we set up a third group "mercenaries" so that we can kill whoever is paying less. Good idea skull! Great one! Thank you me, thank you. |
| Dyne02-09-07, 06:50 PM | Who's on the Antagonist list? Wilds, Thasis, Zombomaniac, CaptainShar, and Turalisj. I say we set up a third group "mercenaries" so that we can kill whoever is paying less. Good idea skull! Great one! Thank you me, thank you. *Starts losing hair* No thanks. No more groups. I'm sure just two will be plenty for me to handle. |
| Wilds02-09-07, 09:21 PM | Char is in. Ready here, got a sneaky rogue |
| turalisj02-09-07, 10:00 PM | And I'm a treelord dragonfire adept elf who thinks he's the reincarnation of a great wyrm green dragon :P |
| Zombomaniac02-09-07, 10:10 PM | And I'm a treelord dragonfire adept elf who thinks he's the reincarnation of a great wyrm green dragon :P  It has happened once again.:surrender Read the first post of this. | Dyne02-09-07, 10:11 PM | And I'm a treelord dragonfire adept elf who thinks he's the reincarnation of a great wyrm green dragon :P I sense there's a reference I'm missing here. |
| Zombomaniac02-09-07, 10:15 PM | I sense there's a reference I'm missing here. If you are talking about my post the only way it could be is if turalisj is in reality my friend Chass (who did this same thing about reincarnation:surrender ). Other then that he may be talking about how insane the idea is.:D |
| turalisj02-09-07, 10:35 PM | Nope, no idea who Zombo is in RL.... But Shrean basicly speaks as if someday he's going to become a green dragon once again. He also has a birthmark shaped like the unholy symbol of Tiamate on his right butt cheek :P |
| Wilds02-09-07, 10:50 PM | He also has a birthmark shaped like the unholy symbol of Tiamate on his right butt cheek :P lol thats not a little strange......;) |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-10-07, 12:14 AM | lol thats not a little strange......;) Correct, that is not a little strange. That is a lotta strange. |
| CaptainShar02-10-07, 12:15 AM | Some of us are women even if we are playing male characters in this campaign! Some of us do not particularly want to know this! But if it ever comes up in-game, I guess I can be grateful I'm playing a straight guy... |
| Dyne02-10-07, 12:19 AM | Some of us are women even if we are playing male characters in this campaign! Some of us do not particularly want to know this! But if it ever comes up in-game, I guess I can be grateful I'm playing a straight guy... Wow, talk about a blow to your manhood.... |
| Dyne02-10-07, 01:22 AM | To the antagonists out there: I need each of you to come up with an in-game description of who your character is, and his reasons for opposing Bristol. Some of your characters' motives may be weaved into the campaign (or at least inspire certain ideas). Right now, my plans for the Antagonist Campaign are rather foggy, I need something more solid to base it on. |
| CaptainShar02-10-07, 01:27 AM | I had a pretty long character background at the bottom of my stat sheet - do you want more than that from me? I'm assuming Bristol is a port, here. |
| Dyne02-10-07, 01:41 AM | I had a pretty long character background at the bottom of my stat sheet - do you want more than that from me? I'm assuming Bristol is a port, here. Thanks for calling my attention to that, it should do nicely. Though if you want to offer up more, be my guest. Bristol actually sits over a river (the Snake River). Downstream, the river forks, one channel (the Wyrm River) leading to Tyranor City and the other (the Drake River) to the ocean. Ships travel up and down these rivers for trade. They're often collectively referred to as the Snake Rivers. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-10-07, 01:42 AM | Orcy doesn't know, the occasional mooning of friends can be fun, made even more so when your butt is green... and wondrous. |
| Wilds02-10-07, 11:33 AM | I will take a look at the description of bristol and hopefully have a back story sometime today or tomorrow |
| Dyne02-10-07, 04:31 PM | I will take a look at the description of bristol and hopefully have a back story sometime today or tomorrow Description of Bristol? I don't think I have one up yet. Except for the one I put up at the Stormhand Federation awhile back, but that's outdated and from a slightly different time period (post-Stormhand, whereas currently is pre-Stormhand). I should probably get around to finishing that. I've already got the basic layout pretty much figured out, and some of the numbers (population, gp limit, etc). Also, along the lines of character motives, what do you as a player expect to get out of the game? What are you looking forward to? |
| Wilds02-10-07, 04:43 PM | My character is more of a merc if anything. Looking forward to getting into some good fights and maybe some payments along the way if enough wealth isnt gained in missions me? i just want to play and have fun being evil ^^ almost anything will work for me |
| Wilds02-10-07, 04:52 PM | Alth background description: read if you want, just dont meta pls ;) Alth Shrenan was a recluse even among other whisper gnomes. He kept to himself expect for when talked to or possible personal gain was involved. After distinguishing himself for a talent in sneaking and using his silence to good use. He was allowed to leave the community and learn on his own. What the other members of his village didn’t know was that Alth had been training himself not for mischief but for murder. His reclusiveness was an analysis of the other members of his village. He realized that none of them would be a worthy foe or they would simply squash him, he decided it was best to leave town and did so. He now wanders searching for good fights, treasure and a meaning as too why he was so different from the rest of the whisper gnomes. Immediately learning that he was a “short man” which somehow meant he was lesser to some humans. He decided that they would be good targets. If he could not kill them, he would take what he wanted and disappear, leaving the victim none the wiser. Appearing to just be a contemplative whisper gnome, he manages to pass among the peoples of Bristol with ease and comfort. Tough for a gnome, even for a rogue he waits until the time is right and does not show qualms to taking out specific enemies when they are at a disadvantage. He sees it as their weakness that left them open to such an attack and that they should have known better. It is a goal of his to start or become part of a group that will further his wealth, prestige and give him back up when things go bad. Alth has noted Bristol’s keen sense of stopping him in what he considers to be none of their business and has a growing resentment for the authority that think they know him so well. When they don’t. |
| thasis02-10-07, 06:16 PM | Unfournetly I can no longer participate due to some other activities which I had previous commitements to. I had a good time, maybe I'll be back in the future. |
| Zombomaniac02-10-07, 06:34 PM | Unfournetly I can no longer participate due to some other activities which I had previous commitements to. I had a good time, maybe I'll be back in the future. Dam* We'll need someone to coer his spot. Demonfey are you willing to? |
| Demonfey02-11-07, 11:00 PM | Sure. You can go ahead with the antagonists bit if you're ready while I make a character, and I'll just join in later. What role do you need covered, anyway? |
| CaptainShar02-11-07, 11:50 PM | We've got a druid swashbuckler (probably going two-weapon fighting) dragon adept rogue (sneaky) Thasis hadn't made up his mind yet, as I recall, so take your pick. We probably don't need more straight melee...maybe an arcane caster? (Not sure what a dragon adept does - I was guessing it's a tank melee with a breath weapon?) |
| Demonfey02-11-07, 11:54 PM | Dragonfire adepts are like warlocks, they have infinite blasting power. |
| CaptainShar02-12-07, 12:09 AM | Guess we've got our bases covered, then. Be whatever you feel like (that can oppose Bristol, of course. Wouldn't recommend a Paladin.). |
| Dyne02-12-07, 12:16 AM | The antagonists need an arcane spellcaster. Wizard or Sorcerer would probably be your best bet. |
| Demonfey02-12-07, 12:20 AM | I'll let you know when I have something ready, then. |
| turalisj02-12-07, 07:30 AM | (Not sure what a dragon adept does - I was guessing it's a tank melee with a breath weapon?) Except I can't wear armor, and could possibly get my allies with my breath attack. |
| Zombomaniac02-12-07, 08:54 AM | Except I can't wear armor, and could possibly get my allies with my breath attack. Your a green right? |
| Wilds02-12-07, 11:32 AM | I dont think that matters for dragonadept does it? |
| Demonfey02-12-07, 11:37 AM | Casters can always wear armor, it's just a matter of figuring out how to pull it off (which is actually really easy to do). |
| Zombomaniac02-12-07, 01:11 PM | I dont think that matters for dragonadept does it? Oh, I obviously dont know enought about dragon adepts. |
| Demonfey02-12-07, 04:00 PM | Just clearing this up now: is use of the Spell Compendium alright? |
| Dyne02-12-07, 04:04 PM | Just clearing this up now: is use of the Spell Compendium alright? Since I don't own that book, it would be difficult. However, I'm willing to make an effort to allow it if you can explain how the spells work and such. And maybe I'll be able to pick myself up a copy later on, anyway. |
| turalisj02-12-07, 10:12 PM | Casters can always wear armor, it's just a matter of figuring out how to pull it off (which is actually really easy to do). I know there are ways, but it is hard to do at level one. |
| Demonfey02-12-07, 10:14 PM | 'Course, I forgot about that bit of information when I posted that... |
| Wilds02-12-07, 10:22 PM | For a straight caster at lev one that would be hard, a duskblade or warmage would be able to pull of a somewhat decent amount of armor |
| Dyne02-12-07, 10:59 PM | For a straight caster at lev one that would be hard, a duskblade or warmage would be able to pull of a somewhat decent amount of armor Can't forget about Battle Sorcerers. Heck, might as well mention Bards while we're at it. Pretty much any class that can cast spells in light armor. |
| Wilds02-13-07, 12:24 AM | Can't forget about Battle Sorcerers. Heck, might as well mention Bards while we're at it. Pretty much any class that can cast spells in light armor. Ooo...dont like battle sorcerers they loss even more spells for melee. Hmm never really thought about bards as their spell capabilities, interesting, i know they get some fun stuff |
| Dyne02-13-07, 02:33 AM | Ooo...dont like battle sorcerers they loss even more spells for melee. I like them way better than War Mages, which can pretty much only blast things and wear armor. But that's just me. |
| Demonfey02-13-07, 12:28 PM | If the antagonists don't already have a party face, would any of you mind a bard since we already have someone that can cover some artillery? It seems that you only really need support at this point... |
| CaptainShar02-13-07, 12:53 PM | Go Evil Bards! Rah-rah-rah! Or at least Neutral Bards! Useless ponderings: Can you inspire courage when people are trying to accomplish something cowardly? |
| Demonfey02-13-07, 12:55 PM | Evil bard it is! Probably not, but then again, would that be a good time to try? Also, what of the first level necessities do we have? I've got a grappling hook and rope, and light. Also, how many have ranged weaponry? Marxis, the evil bard! (http://www.dndonlinegames.com/view.php?id=52624) |
| CaptainShar02-13-07, 02:28 PM | Ooh, I want to borrow the grappling hook! (It was a little too heavy for me to carry and still have a light load.) I also have rope. I've got a climber's kit, which I hope to use frequently, a bag of caltrops, and a sunrod for emergencies. Plus your usual blanket, rations and waterskin, if we need to go outside the city for a few days. |
| Zombomaniac02-13-07, 02:39 PM | Ooh, I want to borrow the grappling hook! "Outside the city"? My PC wouldn't be caught dead in the city.:D |
| Demonfey02-13-07, 03:37 PM | Alright, then I can get rid of my rope. Needed to lighten the load a bit for a bedroll anyway. Do you have a bow, or some kind of ranged weapon? Same goes to you, Zombo. What do you have? |
| Dyne02-13-07, 04:12 PM | "Outside the city"? My PC wouldn't be caught dead in the city.:D Too bad for her, cause there will be some amount of urban adventuring. I'm trying to work in a good share of wilderness stuff as well, though, to make your druid feel right at home. |
| turalisj02-13-07, 04:38 PM | I have a breath weapon that deals damage either in a 30ft line or a 15ft cone. :P |
| Demonfey02-13-07, 04:51 PM | Yes, 1d6 fire damage. Now that I think about it, we're probably covered. |
| Wilds02-13-07, 04:52 PM | stupid question of the day: rogues need a light load to be able to sneak attack right? |
| Demonfey02-13-07, 04:55 PM | No, but it does make it easier to sneak. |
| Wilds02-13-07, 05:19 PM | Oooooo what penalties are there then for having a medium load? |
| Demonfey02-13-07, 05:26 PM | Medium load counts as medium armor for purposes of abilities and skills that are restricted by such. And it would reduce your speed. Going to make a quick fix for a few of these issues. We now own a donkey. |
| Wilds02-13-07, 05:54 PM | Lol good, my character has some items to put on the donkey when we start |
| CaptainShar02-13-07, 06:27 PM | I have a sling. They weigh nothing, you can use stones as ammo in a pinch, they deal bludgeoning damage, and halflings get bonuses with them. But it's kind of a last resort weapon for my character - he'd much rather be using rapier (and rapier + dagger eventually). What's your race and gender, Demonfey? |
| Demonfey02-13-07, 06:37 PM | Male half elf. |
| Zombomaniac02-13-07, 07:10 PM | I'll just PM you my Sheet once I make a few changes. |
| Demonfey02-13-07, 07:12 PM | What's your race, Zombo? |
| Zombomaniac02-13-07, 07:38 PM | Female Human |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-14-07, 03:17 PM | Halflings make funny little popping sounds when they explode. |
| Dyne02-14-07, 03:20 PM | Halflings make funny little popping sounds when they explode. You say that about anyone smaller than you. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-14-07, 03:35 PM | Not true. He says it about ANYTHING. "Ogres? They make funny little popping sounds when they explode." "Tarrasque? I bet he'd make a funny popping sound when he explodes, followed by an ear splitting roar and a shower of gore that would bury us. Oooh... can I try to put him back together afterwards?" Apparently the only thing that doesn't make a funny little popping sound when it explodes is a half elf. Those, according to him, make elaborately overdone vows of revenge and screams that would make a drowning cat seem plesant. |
| Wilds02-14-07, 04:12 PM | Apparently the only thing that doesn't make a funny little popping sound when it explodes is a half elf. Those, according to him, make elaborately overdone vows of revenge and screams that would make a drowning cat seem plesant. ill take the cat..... |
| CaptainShar02-14-07, 04:54 PM | Halflings make funny little popping sounds when they explode. Now that's a provocation if I've ever read one - didn't get enough of the Half-Celestial Paladin vs. Evil Brute witty banter in the Jeleng thread? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-14-07, 05:00 PM | Well, you are on the 'opposing team' and he has threatened the life of the characters of everyone else on said team at least once by now. So Orcy would say that your turn was up, next it'll be someone else. Then orcy will have to hit him with his metal arm for taunting people too much... again. |
| Dyne02-15-07, 05:43 PM | I think it's important to mention some of the themes and influences that helped shape my campaign world, as well as its distinct flavor. The setting draws heavily on Final Fantasy, Warcraft, Eberron, the Forgotten Realms, and homebrew elements of the guild house (such as the Tyranor setting, parts of which will appear here). If you want to get a good feel for the flavor of this setting, play Final Fantasy IX; that game heavily influenced my setting, especially the overall feel. To put it simply, on the surface, my campaign setting closely resembles a stereotypical fairy tale-esque D&D setting. However, beneath that surface, many deeper elements lie beneath (such as horror, warfare, the meaning of life, etc). To sum it up, things seem may seem very stereotypical and basic at a glance, but they are actually quite complex and detailed once you look more closely. I suppose it is kindof anime-esque in some ways. It's difficult to explain, but it is crucial that this "feel" be understood in order to get the most out of the setting. I hope you all enjoy the game, I know I will be putting all my heart into making sure it's pulled off right, according to how I envisioned it. I'm gonna see if I can start things off now, so watch for the new thread. |
| Zombomaniac02-15-07, 06:31 PM | Wait we're starting really soon? Crap better get those last minute alterations done to my PC. Dont worry their nothing to big. |
| Wilds02-15-07, 07:06 PM | Dyne once the antiagonists get together, im going to be moving some of my heavier items to the donkey, so that will be in-game i guess |
| Dyne02-15-07, 09:49 PM | I'm working on the Bristol City thread right now. Go ahead and take a look at what I'm doing, but please DO NOT POST yet. I still have quite a bit to add, and then I'll edit in some more stuff for each post. Also, I'm not sure if I mentioned, but Jagggar's computer is acting up and will not let her get online. As such, she will probably not be able to be part of the campaign at first. I do not know when she will be able to get online again, but I'm considering running a generic cleric with the "Heroes" to fill in her divine spellcaster role. EDIT: Actually, now that I think of it, it would probably be better if you don't look at the thread right now. I'm still changing things around a bit, and it would only confuse you ("What?! But I thought the arena was over there!"). |
| Dyne02-17-07, 01:36 AM | The Bristol City thread is open for business. You can go ahead and start posting and roleplaying, just don't kill each other. I still have quite a bit to edit in. I hope to be able to finish things tomorrow, and get this Founder's Festival thing started off. |
| Dyne02-21-07, 02:04 AM | Someone asked for an updated/comprehensive "Who's Who" list. So: Heroes Orcy - Sireon Licarnus, Human knight Skull - Richard, Human wizard Nightscreamer - Changeling rogue Sssargoth - Orn Sauriv, Silverbrow Human warlock Antagonists turalisj - Shrean, Forestlord Elf dragonfire adept CaptainShar - Beauregard Sweetwater, Halfling swashbuckler Zombomaniac - Brae Moonwrath, Human druid Wilds - Alth Shrenan, Whisper Gnome rogue Demonfey - And I just realized something: I don't have Demonfey's character sheet. I believe he tried to post up a link, but it didn't work. |
| Wilds02-21-07, 08:10 AM | ty Dyne, now i might be able ot understand what is going on at the keep |
| Zombomaniac02-21-07, 08:50 AM | Is Skull's PC talking to my PC? I'm not an Elf, but I dont remember any other females being around. So.... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-21-07, 01:01 PM | I believe he is yes. He often associates "druid" and "elf" together when he isn't reading carefully. |
| Zombomaniac02-22-07, 11:38 PM | I starting to wonder if I should just change Brae's race from Human to Elf since everyone keeps saying she is one.:P Arthur looks on in amazement, how far this predictament has escalated. He vanishes backwards away from the obnoxiously enraged crowd, looking onward he spots the Human and her friend leave... and begins to tail them. Screamer seems to be the only one who knows Brae's race. :D |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-22-07, 11:58 PM | I starting to wonder if I should just change Brae's race from Human to Elf since everyone keeps saying she is one.:P Screamer seems to be the only one who knows Brae's race. :D *coughs* Actually, Orcy corrected Nightscreamer on that one... he had written elf. |
| Demonfey02-23-07, 02:02 AM | At Screamer's latest post: ...:censored: . |
| NightScreamer2002-23-07, 02:05 AM | Ya I'm the captain of editting my posts... I am inconspicuous! |
| Zombomaniac02-23-07, 11:45 AM | *coughs* Actually, Orcy corrected Nightscreamer on that one... he had written elf. Oh...well then Orcy is the only one who seems to know that I am a Human and not an Elf.:D Good Job Orcy! Also Good Job Screamer for editing so fast.:D |
| NightScreamer2002-23-07, 12:34 PM | I know. I rock. Praise me. |
| turalisj02-23-07, 04:16 PM | Say... what would my attack roll mod be to try and hit Orcy's char with the ball? I would merely take a -4 to the attack, wouldn't I? :D |
| NightScreamer2002-23-07, 04:47 PM | Say... what would my attack roll mod be to try and hit Orcy's char with the ball? I would merely take a -4 to the attack, wouldn't I? :D Well as long as he makes a touch attack roll... no, unless you have Snatch Arrows... |
| Demonfey02-24-07, 12:12 AM | You only steal his party invitation? Why? |
| NightScreamer2002-24-07, 01:22 AM | Hm well... you take an action and maybe we'll find out... |
| Demonfey02-24-07, 01:32 AM | On the morrow. |
| NightScreamer2002-24-07, 01:35 AM | Then you forgo your Spot, moving on |
| Demonfey02-24-07, 01:40 AM | Meh, my spot's too bad to get it on a 20. |
| Dyne02-24-07, 02:23 AM | Alright, I've been gone the last few days because being busy with RL stuff, but that should be taken care of now. Let's get things rolling. First thing, something that's come up about die rolls. From now on, for a die roll to be considered valid, it must: Be rolled on invisiblecastle.com. No other dicebot sites will be allowed. Be rolled under a specific name: your WotC boards username with "CBtS" added on at the end. Example, Nightscreamer's would be "Nightscreamer20 CBtS". You will all roll under that username for the entire game. Instances of "multiple rolling" may receive warnings, or I may boot you from the game outright, depending on how generous I'm feeling. And believe me, I will be watching those rolls. |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-25-07, 03:00 PM | Bah, green font, angry reaction, belief in being corret. It makes me think elf (or half elf at least). When I think tree hugger I think elf, just how it goes. |
| CaptainShar02-25-07, 03:37 PM | I only have the core books - so even if Reg is supposed to know what a whisper gnome is like, I don't. |
| Demonfey02-25-07, 05:10 PM | Whisper gnomes are effectively incredibly quiet and sneaky versions of normal gnomes. |
| Demonfey02-25-07, 11:30 PM | Alright, the char's been sent in. Sorry I didn't deal with it earlier, I hadn't noticed the issue until Dyne PMed me. I'll respond to the newest accusations after Dyne gets back to me on it. |
| Dyne02-25-07, 11:46 PM | Alright, the char's been sent in. Sorry I didn't deal with it earlier, I hadn't noticed the issue until Dyne PMed me. I'll respond to the newest accusations after Dyne gets back to me on it. Hmm? Back to you on what? I received your character sheet, if that's what you meant. |
| Demonfey02-25-07, 11:51 PM | Oh. Wasn't sure if you'd PM me about it being cleared or not, or something. |
| turalisj02-26-07, 01:27 AM | Erm.... dyne.... I kinda deleted the character sheet I sent you when dusting out my pm's..... I need it resent to me.... :embarrass |
| Dyne02-26-07, 02:11 AM | Erm.... dyne.... I kinda deleted the character sheet I sent you when dusting out my pm's..... I need it resent to me.... :embarrass No problem, it's happened to myself a few times (though usually over AIM). |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-26-07, 02:41 AM | Orcy didn't know if you were still going to play. He sees you online all the time but you never post, much like Sssargoth. |
| turalisj02-26-07, 12:09 PM | I spend most of my time back in the guild house..... Throwing snowballs at Shar and DF... :D |
| Demonfey02-26-07, 12:36 PM | It was fun. And to Screamer: Remember, always make sure you can cover every contingency if you happen to play a character meant to replace other characters. |
| Demonfey02-26-07, 09:08 PM | Skull, I just have to know, what's Richard's alignment anyway? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-26-07, 09:09 PM | Orcy wagers that it is Chaotic Nuts. |
| Demonfey02-26-07, 09:11 PM | Probably. Or chaotic drunk. |
| Zombomaniac02-26-07, 11:20 PM | I AM going to kill Richard. Just so everyone knows. Also Skull not to creative thus far. You got Richard from Looking for group (http://www.lfgcomic.com/)and a Druid using trees to take over the city from Order of the Stick.:P |
| Demonfey02-26-07, 11:24 PM | Oh, so he's the unsubtle brand of chaotic evil. |
| Zombomaniac02-26-07, 11:30 PM | Honestly dont care what he is I am going to kill him. |
| Sssargoth02-26-07, 11:33 PM | I AM going to kill Richard. Just so everyone knows. Also Skull not to creative thus far. You got Richard from Looking for group (http://www.lfgcomic.com/)and a Druid using trees to take over the city from Order of the Stick.:P Pretty much our entire party is eventually going to be alot like the cast from Looking for group, so why not start with Richard. |
| Demonfey02-26-07, 11:37 PM | Which role does Screamer fill, then? Also, dibs on his character when it comes to stabbing each other. |
| Dyne02-26-07, 11:37 PM | Honestly dont care what he is I am going to kill him. Not while you're in prison, you won't. Pretty much our entire party is eventually going to be alot like the cast from Looking for group, so why not start with Richard. So which one would Orcy be? The Blood Elf? |
| Zombomaniac02-26-07, 11:38 PM | Pretty much our entire party is eventually going to be alot like the cast from Looking for group, so why not start with Richard. You may start with him, but he will die all the same. I cant say that enough. The very thought of doing it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.:D |
| Zombomaniac02-26-07, 11:39 PM | Not while you're in prison, you won't. I won't be in prison for ever and if he comes within arms reach its his fault. |
| Demonfey02-26-07, 11:53 PM | Stab Screamer in the kidneys once for me. |
| Dyne02-26-07, 11:54 PM | I won't be in prison for ever Do you want to make that bet? Because it can be arranged. *Sharpens axe* |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-26-07, 11:57 PM | Your constant talk about easily killing our party is quite amusing. Becuase honestly I don't know if any of ya got it in ya. Sure, I'm a level one character, and as a wizard, that means I can die easy. But does that mean you can't die just as easy? Each one of you can die just as easy as the people you seem to think you can kill outright. Also, Richard is based off of Richard from LFG in name only. Maybe paleness too, not sure where that came outta. The trees attacking a city thing? Ain't got no idea what you are talkin about, I've never read order of the stick. You can try to kill me all you like, but I was playing. I'll take off the kid gloves if you want. |
| Zombomaniac02-26-07, 11:57 PM | Do you want to make that bet? Because it can be arranged. *Sharpens axe* Thats wrong on so many levels and if you do kill Brae I'll bring in her sister or something like that. *gets a spare character sheet ready* |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 12:06 AM | It was more of a case of apparently two against one, as the halfling and gnome went to go see Screamer's character. Also, your character seems like just the type who'd get close to the bars. At any rate, we're supposed to be the villains. Its part of our job description to assume that we can kill the heroes, Skull. Besides, nothing wrong with calling dibs on which hero you'll face in a climactic battle, is there? |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-27-07, 12:12 AM | Yeah, in character it is, but you all are gettin cocky out of charcter. Its makin me a bit trigger happy ya see? Maybe I'll just make someone splode. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 12:17 AM | Can't, all the splodey spells are out of reach right now. Unless you have alchemist fire, in which case, happy hunting. And its just Zombo making the claims. I'm just cheering the swashbuckler and rogue on to possibly stabbing the guy who got me wrongfully accused of being a fraud Marxis and thrown into jail in the kidneys. Nothing wrong with that. |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-27-07, 12:24 AM | You miss the part about me bein a royal alchemist? Think that answers it for itself yeah? |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 12:28 AM | Not you, Screamer. Long as he looks like me, he's me in the eyes of the guards, especially after that little fiasco where he convinced them he was. Hence, they wouldn't be assaulting someone working for the crown, but some random punk who, if he wanted to get them on attempted murder of an agent of the crown, would have to reveal himself as said agent of the crown, and since there is no record of Marxis being an agent of said crown, my PC'd be free to go. After all, all they would have to keep Marxis there are a few words that seem to have some meaning but could possibly not. Is it a bad thing that I thought that possible scenario out in under a minute? |
| Zombomaniac02-27-07, 12:32 AM | Hmmmm....I think you where misunderstanding me. :lightbulb Your constant talk about easily killing our party is quite amusing. Becuase honestly I don't know if any of ya got it in ya. Sure, I'm a level one character, and as a wizard, that means I can die easy. I never said anything about killing Orcy or any of them. I said Brae is going to kill Richard. As DF said I'm "calling dibs." Brae doesn't care about the others. They're just people who are at the same party as her. :whatsthis But does that mean you can't die just as easy? Each one of you can die just as easy as the people you seem to think you can kill outright. People? No. I bet Orcy and others will be quite the enemy, but Richard? Not unless he has bodyguards or he gains some levels fast because Brae can one hit kill him.:smirk: Now lets put the shoe on the over foot. Can he one hit kill Brae? No:) Two hit kill? No:tantrum: Three hit kill? No:ahem: Well surely he can do a four hit kill. Can't he?:uh-huh: Only if he always rolls a 4 on the 1d4s of damage he can do. No offence toward you. Wizards at low level are just this way. Thats why I didn't want to play one at this level. [Edit] Alchemist fire. Crap! I'll have to look some things over.:raincloud Also, Richard is based off of Richard from LFG in name only. Maybe paleness too, not sure where that came outta. Came out of my head most lilely (:P ) because your Richard acts just like I would expect a living Richard (From LFG) to act with a pretty lady around and yes Brae if pretty, she has good Charisma for a reason. The trees attacking a city thing? Ain't got no idea what you are talkin about, I've never read order of the stick. OotS did that joke awile back. You should read it it is a really funny web comic.:) You can try to kill me all you like, but I was playing. I'll take off the kid gloves if you want. Hmm... I think you missunderstand. I dont want to kill you. Brae wants to kill Richard. OOC and IC are two different things. From an Out of Character point of view you are doing some great RP and creating some good DnD stories. Bravo!:bravo: But from a In Character point of view Richard (not you) has done nothing but been an as*hole and insulted Brae in one form or another again and again, thus she wants him dead. To review: I don't want you dead. Brae wants Richard dead. I dont hate you. Brae hates Richard. You RP very well. Richard is an as*hole. |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-27-07, 12:32 AM | Nah, I mean about the alchemist's fire. And if ya attack the man, even if he ain't an agent of the crown, you'll be gettin thrown in jail anyway for tryin ta murder someone. Also, yes I can one hit kill Brae. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 12:34 AM | Huh, I'd have thought you wouldn't be allowed to keep any on you for fear of accidentally blowing up someone important. Could be considered a mugging. Or they could just get lucky. Either or, I'm just cheering that line of action on. Then you'd be in jail for killing a defenseless person who was behind bars, possibly stripped of your position, and have to spend time in jail with someone who has a spell list that seems specifically designed to annoy people (me). Consider if killing Brae would really be worth that. Especially when you ran out of prestidigitations. And that I have decent diplomacy and bluff. |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-27-07, 12:44 AM | Jail? Why would I ever be sent to jail. Ask 'marxis' about it. He saw the whole thing. Someone robbed me and tried to frame me by getting rid of the girl because they figured I'd have motive. It's just another plot. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 12:45 AM | In prison? Because I was talking about in prison. You'd have to then find the fraud while I told the guards that I witnessed you burn her to death, which may or may not require a bluff check. And sooner or later, they will end up verifying I'm the real Marxis. |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-27-07, 12:48 AM | We'll see. Also, I'm not evil, I just don't like her. Hell hath no fury like a Richard scorned! Also, why are we talking hypothetically about how you'll come up with excuse that won't work when nothing has happened and nothing may or may not happen? |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 12:49 AM | Because you said you could kill Brae with one hit. Evil characters are supposed to brag about the stuff like that, not good ones. |
| Skull_of_Shadow02-27-07, 12:51 AM | I can, which was spawned by Zombo's declaration that I couldn't kill brae in three or four hits. After his declaration that he could kill me in one hit, which may or may not be true. It COULD happen, but would it? Who knows. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 12:58 AM | Unknown animal companion and inflict spells versus probably unarmored flesh (if you are caught unprepared) and unknown abilities/weapons. From the looks of things we know, thanks to druids having healing spells, unless you got a lucky hit, Brae's d8 will beat your d4. Add in that druids can sacrifice other spells to summon more animals, and you look pretty badly off in a straight out fight. Low level Divine casters just beat low level mages in poorly thought out fights on the mage's behalf. Before you say anything about you being able to take Brae or Zombo says something about Richard, this is from a purely analytical view. Judging from what I know about both, this is just how things appear. It doesn't take into account numerous variables, some of which may come into account, but it does take what I definitely have into account. My advice is make sure you have some impressive tricks. Now, the dice hate braggarts, so I'm going to get out of this conversation. |
| CaptainShar02-27-07, 12:44 PM | True... Is Screamer trying to convince us that he really is a half-elf bard named Marxis, and that the man we were talking to before is not Marxis at all, or, Is Screamer trying to convince us that he's the same man we were talking to before (the name of Marxis being largely irrelevant in this case, because even the original one may have been lying)? Two different tactics. I was working with the second one. Okay, reposted here. |
| NightScreamer2002-27-07, 01:11 PM | ...Everyone here that thought I was standing in front of the man I was impersonating pretending to be the original him when I'm pretty sure my clothes are different and that I was acting as if I hadn't even seen that Druid woman before... but was trying to impersonate the same exact Marxis please raise you hand. Then slam into your face really hard. You lost. OOC: Can we get a circumstance bonus, because real Marxis is still being nice to Brae, and we saw him do that before? That was my reasoning for why Reg would know which was which. Because you don't know which is the True Marxis, so what if the fake Marxis was and is nice to Brae, if he is a fake? OOC: your char walked out and made a fool of people and or raised a general rucse. that is enough to note who is who Again, no. How do you know how the real Marxis would act? You guys don't know each other well enough for that to matter. Fact is, that you should be almost astonished that the man with Brae was probably trying to con you guys, and could have ruined all your plans. Actually, fact of the matter even Brae would have to make a Sense Motive to disbelieve my act, leaving Marxis just furious and alone. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 01:34 PM | But here's the real question: why would Brae leave the Marxis she's with alone when he'd been by her the entire time that happened from the time he told her the (not so) secret pass phrase? Also, the little issue of jail kind of makes it a little harder for her to do so. At any rate, since when did Marxis ever get mad during that entire thing? If they're all with you, the "fraud" wouldn't be implicated in anything. Also, you're forgetting about why should she turn away the one that's been nice to her and is going to try and talk her way out of prison. |
| NightScreamer2002-27-07, 01:37 PM | Are you saying Marxis wouldn't be upset if NO ONE believed he was who he said he was and he had to sit in a cell alone, and the only person he made 'friends' with so far believes him a sorry fake? I'd be angry. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 01:39 PM | Considering according to his background he is a conman? Not really, no. He'd probably congratulate you, actually. You outdid him. Nothing like a rival, after all, to make things interesting. |
| NightScreamer2002-27-07, 01:41 PM | Too bad too. Apparently, he thinks I'm through with him. So much to do, so little time. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 01:45 PM | What, you think he's done with you, either? This is just getting interesting! Let's see who can out con who. |
| NightScreamer2002-27-07, 01:47 PM | God. It's funny because you think you'll ever know where and who he is. Hard to con the man doesn't exist. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 01:51 PM | It's funny, you think I care about stuff like that. What he knows is that he has a rival skilled in disguises somewhere, maybe magical, and that, all things considered, they might run across each other again without him knowing. So he just has to work on being able to discern who's trying to trick him, and sooner or later, he might get the right one. It may be hard to con the man who doesn't exist, but it's much easier when you can attempt to con everyone else, including a disguise of the man who doesn't exist. |
| NightScreamer2002-27-07, 01:56 PM | So I would have reduced him to a paranoid fool scared of everyone and anyone because his biggest rival could always be right around to the corner? I have no problem with that. How do you disguise yourself as a man who has no face and no name and thn try to make people believe you are him when they don't even know him, so this would be pointless... You have an identity, you have honor or friends or family, you have acquaintences, you have something to lose. Try me. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 02:01 PM | He already was paranoid. Part of his job, when you think about it. And not scared. Excited. I put his reasons for being an antagonist as the money and the challenge. You're helping the second one. Easy: you don't. And who ever said I was going to do that? You already disguised yourself as me, so it wouldn't be nearly unique enough to him to be worthy of using against his greatest adversary. And no, he really doesn't, or at least no family you could trace easily. He has a face and an easily changed name. What part of the words "con man" isn't connecting? Hope you remain a worthy opponent.;) |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 02:10 PM | In any case, I must go to class now. |
| NightScreamer2002-27-07, 02:14 PM | :D |
| Wilds02-27-07, 03:10 PM | ok so can i get a recap on what is going on exactly cause i know one guy got taken away and the other is wandering away |
| CaptainShar02-27-07, 03:14 PM | OK. Unless you can beat a Bluff of 26, you believe that Screamer is playing a half-elf bard named Marxis, who was invited by Senator Felnan. You still think that the half-elf who's getting dragged of to jail, is the guy we were talking with earlier. So, if we're allowed to change stuff, Reg is NOT following the guy; he thinks it's someone legit, whom our contact tried to impersonate. |
| Wilds02-27-07, 07:06 PM | Alth will not have followed him then. Though if Marxis does disappear then he will search for him |
| Dyne02-27-07, 10:25 PM | OOC: Can we get a circumstance bonus No. To explain it from your character's perspective: You arrive at this party, and a half-elf claiming to be Marxis is going about, being friendly with the other antagonists and such, etc. Seems genuine enough. However, another half-elf also claiming to be Marxis arrives. This half-elf has a genuine invitation to the party, and he speaks with confidence and authority, as though he really is upset about someone taking his place. Because of his invitation and his manner of speaking, he must be the real Marxis. Right? Granted, of course you're going to be suspicious of Nightscreamer's imposter Marxis. But, failing at your Sense Motive/Spot checks simply means you don't really have anything to support those suspicions, no reason to disbelieve him. For the record, I hate social skills (such as Diplomacy, Bluff, etc.) OOC: your char walked out and made a fool of people and or raised a general rucse. that is enough to note who is who ...Huh? Please explain, because this statement makes absolutely no sense. But here's the real question: why would Brae leave the Marxis she's with alone when he'd been by her the entire time that happened from the time he told her the (not so) secret pass phrase? Also, the little issue of jail kind of makes it a little harder for her to do so. At any rate, since when did Marxis ever get mad during that entire thing? If they're all with you, the "fraud" wouldn't be implicated in anything. Also, you're forgetting about why should she turn away the one that's been nice to her and is going to try and talk her way out of prison. Brae needs to make a Sense Motive check as well. For all she knows, you were pretending to be on her side just to catch her off guard. However, she will receive a circumstance bonus because you spoke the code phrase (though if she still fails the Sense Motive, she assumes that you received the code phrase from a spy that's infiltrated your group, or just that you overheard Turalisj's outrageously loud and obvious overuse of the code phrase). |
| Zombomaniac02-27-07, 10:27 PM | Brae needs to make a Sense Motive check as well. So what is the DC and what bonus do I get? So if I smake the save I believe the Marxis I know is the real one? If I fail I: Dont trust the real MArxis? Or Just think he got caught being someone else, but I trust him? |
| Dyne02-27-07, 10:34 PM | So what is the DC and what bonus do I get? The DC is 26. As for the circumstance bonus.... I think I'll give it a +8. Demonfey's Marxis knows the code phrase, but it's reasonably possible he picked it up somewhere else. The bonus would be lower if Demonfey wasn't the first person in the thread to speak the code phrase (which reduced the likelihood that he just overheard it from Turalisj, or something). If you fail, you will not trust the real Marxis. |
| CaptainShar02-27-07, 10:35 PM | Dont trust the real MArxis? Or Just think he got caught being someone else, but I trust him? Yes, that is the point here. Even if we are all perfectly convinced that Screamer's character is "the real Marxis," WE didn't know who we were supposed to be meeting at the party. So, for all we know, the contact IS the half-elf in jail (since he's been acting like it a lot more than Screamer); the half-elf in jail is just not really Marxis. |
| Demonfey02-27-07, 10:36 PM | Which would mean if everyone got caught, I'd have an alibi. ;) |
| Dyne02-27-07, 10:37 PM | Yes, that is the point here. Except the "real Marxis" (AKA Nightscreamer) was invited by Senator Felnan, the same noble who invited the rest of you. |
| CaptainShar02-27-07, 10:40 PM | Yeah, I'm still trying to figure a way to force that little plot twist on him without revealing the rest of us...but what's the final verdict on what we're supposed to be believing about the two twinned half-elves? |
| Dyne02-27-07, 10:43 PM | Yeah, I'm still trying to figure a way to force that little plot twist on him without revealing the rest of us...but what's the final verdict on what we're supposed to be believing about the two twinned half-elves? Have you made your Sense Motive rolls? Because I got distracted by this little discussion, so I might have missed them. Nightscreamer and I explained what would happen if you fail the rolls, but I could go over it again. |
| Zombomaniac02-27-07, 10:47 PM | Are we supposed to roll under our suer name or character anme or what? I think it was Username and CBtS. Also i am going to roll my sense motive in the morning. I got kinda bored a little bit ago and rolled a whole bunch. So I am going to roll in the moring to keep these groups seperate.:) |
| CaptainShar02-27-07, 10:51 PM | I did mention this, I believe, but here 'tis again: Can't beat a 26. And I would very much appreciate a recap of exactly what I think, now, because there's been all this debate. |
| Zombomaniac02-27-07, 10:55 PM | I did mention this, I believe, but here 'tis again: Can't beat a 26. Thankfully I can assuming the die roller doesnt hate me.:) |
| NightScreamer2002-27-07, 11:40 PM | Please pause on the "Reg and Alth following Screamer" thing; I didn't quite understand what Screamer was trying to pass himself off as. If allowed, I'll change my past two actions (following him and talking to him), based on what Reg was really bluffed into believing. There's no way Reg can beat Screamer's bluff. So Reg now believes that Screamer is Marxis, the half-elf bard. However, he still thinks Demonfey's character is his ally, and Screamer's is not. Demonfey's guy just picked the wrong person to impersonate to get into the party. So Reg just lets Screamer's Marxis walk away, if we're allowed to retcon (remember that my previous actions were based on an improper understanding of what, exactly, Screamer was trying to Bluff us into believing). Wrong. You guys said maybe 5 sentences to each other, Demonfey has spent most of his time with Zombo. Plus the fact that you now think the guy you met not to long ago is a scoundrel impersonating someone invited here by Senator Felnan... and that I AM someone invited here by Senator Felnan... so ya. |
| Dyne02-27-07, 11:41 PM | Are we supposed to roll under our suer name or character anme or what? I think it was Username and CBtS. That is correct. I did mention this, I believe, but here 'tis again: Can't beat a 26. And I would very much appreciate a recap of exactly what I think, now, because there's been all this debate. All right, I'll sum it up again. But first, let me say this: Cool down the "protagonists vs. antagonists" rivalry thing that's going on right now, just a little. People are getting a little worked up over this, and I should remind you all that this is a game. I should also remind you that Metagaming is poor roleplaying; roleplay your character the way he would act based on what he knows, not the way you would act based on what you know. Good roleplaying will be rewarded; exceptionally bad roleplaying may be penalized. Also, recall what I said at the beginning of this: You may not kill of members of the opposing team yet. Make life hell for each other? Sure. However, if you attempt to kill another PC, not only will your attempt fail, but you will be penalized. Give each other a chance to play through the game a little before you're at each other's throats: This is NOT PvP; the other PC's are not specifically what you are opposing, but rather the ideals that those PC's stand for. Think of it more as two campaigns run at once, heading in opposite directions. Will it be a train wreck? Only time will tell. |
| Zombomaniac02-28-07, 10:51 AM | Ok heres my Sence Motive roll (Luck be a 20 tonight): 22http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=896490 :weep: Good luck DF. |
| Wilds02-28-07, 11:06 AM | ok, Alth doesnt think anything of the new marxis or the old marxis, dismissing it as "tall people politics" and thus stays at the table to eat and drink |
| Zombomaniac02-28-07, 01:57 PM | Brae doesn't trust the real Marxis. Doesn't trust the fake one either. Brae was starting to like the real Marxis so unless Dyne says other wise she'll give him the benifit of the doubt, wont risk much for him, and wont think he is the real Marxis. Aswell she wont help him unless she has something to gain. |
| Demonfey02-28-07, 03:33 PM | Long as you aren't planning on stabbing me in the near future, I'm okay with that. |
| Dyne02-28-07, 11:58 PM | Ok heres my Sence Motive roll (Luck be a 20 tonight): 22http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=896490 :weep: Good luck DF. ...Why did you roll 15 times for that Sense Motive check? |
| Demonfey03-01-07, 03:59 AM | Where should prisoners post? |
| Dyne03-01-07, 04:01 AM | Where should prisoners post? Since they're still in the city, they still post in the same thread. Though, I don't know what you'd really have to post about. Unless you just want to chat to pass the time in jail, or something. |
| Demonfey03-01-07, 04:03 AM | Oh, you know, things like asking how long we're going to be held, what kind of things would help Brae's case, stuff like that. |
| Zombomaniac03-01-07, 08:47 AM | ...Why did you roll 15 times for that Sense Motive check? Look at the times. The first group. I had gotten realy bored waiting on you all to post. So I rolled. A lot. I said that earlier.:) Then I got bored again before school so since rolling worked for killing time before i did it again.:D Then about an hour or so later i realized I hadn't rolled for real. So i rolled and got a 22.:weep: That cover it?:) Oh, you know, things like asking how long we're going to be held, what kind of things would help Brae's case, stuff like that. Ahhhh...your so sweet helping Brae. :) Dont worry she wont stab you. Or eat you. Or feed you to the wolves. Or....well dang she does a lot of stuff to people she doesnt like.:D |
| NightScreamer2003-01-07, 12:45 PM | Look at the times. The first group. I had gotten realy bored waiting on you all to post. So I rolled. A lot. I said that earlier.:) Then I got bored again before school so since rolling worked for killing time before i did it again.:D Then about an hour or so later i realized I hadn't rolled for real. So i rolled and got a 22.:weep: That cover it?:) Honestly Dyne I'd say all the rolls that say "Sence Motive +8 circumstance bonus +3 Wis mod " beforehand (the 10+ of them), I think he'd have to stick with the first one... I see no reason you'd have to reroll it when you already rolled it using your Ranks, + Wis, + Circumstance so... You shoula kept labelling them before you went ahead and "spam rolled", you woulda had a 31 and 2 27s!... Or well you could just try to stop :censored: cheating? |
| Dyne03-01-07, 02:02 PM | Look at the times. The first group. I had gotten realy bored waiting on you all to post. So I rolled. A lot. | Dyne03-04-07, 05:23 PM | Forgot to mention something semi-important: Zombomaniac's character, Brae Moonwrath, was imprisoned for Out-of-Character reasons, not just In-Character. Zombo was cheating on die rolls, and so his character was imprisoned for the duration of the Founder's Festival celebrations. Do NOT try to get Brae released from jail before the festival is over, unless you want to be smited with my DM wrath. |
| Wilds03-04-07, 08:05 PM | We can bust out the other one though right? |
| CaptainShar03-04-07, 08:22 PM | That's not really such a great idea. If we quietly let him figure himself out, and do what we're supposed to do, I have a feeling the whole thing will go a lot better. |
| Dyne03-04-07, 09:09 PM | We can bust out the other one though right? Sure. I encourage you guys to find a way to free/prove the innocence of Demonfey. However, since you failed the Sense Motive and Spot checks, your characters currently believe Nightscreamer is the real Marxis/your ally. If you want to bust him out, you'll have to figure out a way to do it without metagaming. |
| Zombomaniac03-04-07, 11:23 PM | Forgot to mention something semi-important: Zombomaniac's character, Brae Moonwrath, was imprisoned for Out-of-Character reasons, not just In-Character. Do not break him out unless you want to be smited with my DM wrath." :banghead: |
| Orcy The Green Wonder03-04-07, 11:29 PM | To be fair, it isn't like Nightscreamer has been hiding much about this. So Orcy doubts that most had not put it together in the first place. |

Such as if you do end up getting banned (I should remind you that you are still dangerously close to it; it's from the kindness of my own heart that you are even still in the game). If you didn't want to be "shamed," you shouldn't have done it in the first place. If you shape up and never let it happen again, nobody cares about your previous mistakes. The past is in the past. So I should change my character's personality IG so that he isn't helping Brae any more? You can RP your character however you like. Just realize that he'll never convince the guards to set her free, and don't try to break her out. I suppose I could have Brae and Marxis in two separate cells with separate keys, in case the antagonists do try to break Marxis free. |
| Zombomaniac03-04-07, 11:56 PM | To be fair, it isn't like Nightscreamer has been hiding much about this. So Orcy doubts that most had not put it together in the first place. Wait what are you talking about? I'd prefer everyone to just know the full extent of the situation now. Saves a lot of confusion and explaining later. Confusion? Just say "I dont want people to cheat." Such as if you do end up getting banned (I should remind you that you are still dangerously close to it; it's from the kindness of my own heart that you are even still in the game). Didn't you say that if anyone cheated they would be banned? That would explain it. People: Why is Z banned? You: He cheated resently. If you shape up and never let it happen again, nobody cares about your previous mistakes. The past is in the past. | Dyne03-05-07, 12:15 AM | Wait what are you talking about? I believe he's referring to Nightscreamer shouting out "Cheater!" every other post. Confusion? Just say "I dont want people to cheat." There's a lot more to it than that. Didn't you say that if anyone cheated they would be banned? That would explain it. People: Why is Z banned? You: He cheated resently. Actually, I'm almost to the point where, if you so much as annoy me (again), you'll be banned. Zombo: Woohoo! I love messing around on the die roller and rolling for no reason at all! Dyne: :headexplo *BANNED* Others: What? Why was he banned? Messing around on the die roller is now a capital offense? Dyne: It is if your name starts with "Zombo". Thanks once again for not banning me, by the way.:) Just don't make me regret it. Ya and Judas loved Jesus so he shouldn't have betrayed Jesus, but he had his moments of weakness. So sue me. Wait, so now you're comparing yourself to someone that's seen as one of the most villainous people in the bible? Besides the fact that discussing religion is against the code of conduct. And does that mean you're secretly involved in a plot against my life? I knew it! Hmmmm...I thought we where in seperate cells.:detect: I kinda figured they wouldn't put different genders together (God only knows what two good looking people might do in that cell if left alone:P ) and they wouldn't want us ploting something (:plotting: ). | Demonfey03-05-07, 10:43 PM | T's absence has been explained on the IFWG thread. Apparently, he's been in the hospital for the last week, so hasn't been feeling well enough to post-still doesn't really, so post your sympathies there. For more details, go to the IFWG thread. |
| CaptainShar03-06-07, 10:34 PM | Yes, please; let's move to Day 2. I think Reg's had all the socializing he can stomach for the moment. |
| turalisj03-08-07, 11:51 AM | Meanwhile, Shreans been in the bathroom for the entire incident. The last thing he heard wasgetting clonked on the head with a ball. :D |
| Dyne03-15-07, 03:31 AM | Sorry for all the delays. Don't think I've abandoned things, the game will be moving at the speed of light before you know it. Also, I thought I'd mention the Honor system that I'm using (which is a bit different from the system in UA): Honor is gained or lossed in a similar fashion as described in UA; put simply, by performing an action that is seen as honorable or dishonorable (duh). | Faithful_One03-15-07, 08:34 PM | Hey Dyne I know it is likely a stupid question since you are trying to keep this balanced, but is there a way that I could get in you game? If I can't then i understand. Also Orcy is waiting for you in his game. Shadowwatch has been attacked. |
| Demonfey03-15-07, 08:46 PM | I think the "good" guys are missing a person, actually... |
| Faithful_One03-15-07, 08:48 PM | I think the "good" guys are missing a person, actually... If such is true I would be willing to take his/her place. |
| CaptainShar03-15-07, 09:22 PM | Yeah, their cleric left. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder03-15-07, 09:39 PM | She is at the moment having computer problems. We aren't sure when or if her internet will be back up anytime soon. |
| Faithful_One03-15-07, 10:06 PM | If she is coming back soon I dont want to kick her out:( , but I do want to play so I'll leave it up to Dyne.:) |
| Zombomaniac03-15-07, 10:29 PM | If she is coming back soon I dont want to kick her out:( , but I do want to play so I'll leave it up to Dyne.:) I'm sure Dyne will let you in, but then again I don't know Dyne any better them you so.....*thinks of the worst possible thing that could happen* Good God! Dyne you horrible person!;) |
| Faithful_One03-15-07, 10:30 PM | I'm sure Dyne will let you in, but then again I don't know Dyne any better them you so.....*thinks of the worst possible thing that could happen* Good God! Dyne you horrible person!;) Thats not exactly comforting, you know.:P |
| Zombomaniac03-15-07, 10:31 PM | Thats not exactly comforting, you know.:P I didn't plan for it to be.:D |
| Wilds03-15-07, 10:39 PM | I didn't plan for it to be.:D Meh theres always worse, no matter how horrifying that may seem :uh-huh: just joking :P |
| Zombomaniac03-15-07, 10:46 PM | Meh theres always worse, no matter how horrifying that may seem :uh-huh: just joking :P You think so, eh? Well lets see... :duel: *trys to think of something worse* *thinks of something worse* :surrender :pint: |
| turalisj03-15-07, 11:04 PM | Oh, I know a few more horrible things.... *laughs while holding his BoVD and Hoh* :D |
| Wilds03-15-07, 11:53 PM | You think so, eh? Well lets see... :duel: *trys to think of something worse* *thinks of something worse* :surrender :pint: now that takes the fun out of it and the bovd is rather scary |
| Dyne03-16-07, 02:46 AM | Hey Dyne I know it is likely a stupid question since you are trying to keep this balanced, but is there a way that I could get in you game? If I can't then i understand. The Protagonists are in need of a healer of some kind. Since jagggar may return (eventually), it would be best if you played a non-cleric character with healing abilities. Good choices might be a bard, a paladin, maybe a druid (though I wouldn't recommend it, since we won't really be out in the wild all that much). Oh, I know a few more horrible things.... *laughs while holding his BoVD and Hoh* I hope you realize I'll be making liberal use of Heroes of Horror in this campaign. I've got to head to bed in a little bit, and I'll probably be busy all of tomorrow. So, I'll see about continuing with the next day of the festivities this saturday. Should give Faithful_One a chance to work out his character's stats before then. |
| turalisj03-16-07, 10:04 PM | Heheheh. Where do you think I got the template for Kitae (my warlock in the Guild House) |
| Demonfey03-16-07, 10:18 PM | You mean the one who died in one hit? |
| turalisj03-16-07, 10:38 PM | That's only because massive damage rules are bad to use at such a high level. BTW, what are we using for Tibur's test battle? |
| NightScreamer2003-17-07, 12:24 AM | What template? |
| Demonfey03-17-07, 01:39 AM | He tried Unholy Scion. |
| turalisj03-17-07, 02:21 AM | Never even got to use his fun abilities. |
| Demonfey03-17-07, 02:32 AM | Speaking of which, T, you never posted Kitae. |
| Dyne03-17-07, 02:45 AM | Where do you think I got the template for Kitae A domesticated feline? |
| turalisj03-17-07, 02:57 AM | Speaking of which, T, you never posted Kitae. >.<; I lost the original character sheet... It's in my notebook, but I use that one for all my dnd stuff. |
| Demonfey03-17-07, 12:17 PM | And it never occurred to you to ask for the one you sent me.:nonono: |
| Dyne03-17-07, 04:44 PM | Day 2 has begun. It is a rather long post.... I haven't posted up the competition quite yet. There will be a little bit of mingling before the competing begins. |
| Demonfey03-18-07, 01:09 AM | Anyone mind a shameless plug for a friend here, or is one in the IFWG thread enough? |
| Dyne03-18-07, 02:10 AM | Anyone mind a shameless plug for a friend here, or is one in the IFWG thread enough? There's no point in reposting the same thing all over the place. The one in the IFWG thread should be enough. |
| Dyne03-19-07, 04:12 PM | To the "good guys": You need to come up with a noble patron that your character is competing for in the Founder's Cup. I listed several specific nobles in the Bristol thread, and you can choose any of them (including Prince William). Alternatively, if you don't see one you like, give me an idea of what type of character you want to be your patron and I'll think of something. I might even let you totally create one yourself. |
| Dyne03-20-07, 12:45 AM | Also, please don't pick all the same patrons. Nobles usually only send one champion, and it's seen as unethical to send more. Rualon is taken Felnan is taken Prince William may be taken |
| Demonfey03-20-07, 12:47 AM | So, Faith, what're you (race/class)? |
| Faithful_One03-20-07, 12:52 AM | So, Faith, what're you (race/class)? Oh i didn't make my race obvious when I posted. opps, I'll fix that. Aswell Ill make my class obvious as well. To save you looking time it is Huamn and Paladin. |
| Demonfey03-20-07, 01:09 AM | Ah, alright. Also, with changelings in the game, you can never be sure... |
| Zombomaniac03-21-07, 05:03 PM | We really aren't making much progress post-and-story-wise so far are we? |
| Dyne03-21-07, 05:06 PM | We really aren't making much progress post-and-story-wise so far are we? I can't really start the competing until I know the noble patrons of each of the protagonists. |
| Zombomaniac03-21-07, 05:18 PM | I can't really start the competing until I know the noble patrons of each of the protagonists. In which case my post isn't geared towards you but all the bood guys who haven't chosen their patron. We bad guys aren't holding it up are we? I certianly know I'm not.:D |
| Faithful_One03-21-07, 05:26 PM | Can my patron respond to me now? Reposting so you dont have to look for it. Coming up shortly after the Price and his men a well built and jovial looking Human fellow follows up at a respectful distance. He displays his invitation to the guards and enter, quickly routing around his majesty’s group and making his way toward Senator Rualon. "Forgive my lateness Senator, I was held up in the forests, have I missed anything out of the ordinary?" (OOC: All the while my PC has Detect Evil going. If he sees any one evil just post it or PM my please. There race and class are known. :) ) |
| Dyne03-21-07, 06:03 PM | In which case my post isn't geared towards you but all the bood guys who haven't chosen their patron. We bad guys aren't holding it up are we? I certianly know I'm not.:D Honestly, I'm probably more to blame than anyone else. I disappeared for a few days when I was overwhelmed with RL commitments; that, and I like to RP a lot. :D Except for Sssargoth. What's he up to now, 3 posts? Someone needs to give that lazy dragon a good booting. But yeah, once the good guys all select a patron, we'll be good to go. So far, we're waiting on Sssargoth, Skull, and Nightscreamer (who has to select one for his Arthur alias). |
| Faithful_One03-21-07, 08:57 PM | Except for Sssargoth. What's he up to now, 3 posts? Someone needs to give that lazy dragon a good booting. Looks like he is up to 4 now.:) |
| Skull_of_Shadow03-21-07, 11:30 PM | Eh, I'll work for Rozzel. Not exactly a military man, but I've got some things that could be considered Military assets... |
| Dyne03-22-07, 01:37 AM | Eh, I'll work for Rozzel. Not exactly a military man, but I've got some things that could be considered Military assets... Excellent. You have more in common with him than you know.... |
| Demonfey03-22-07, 01:43 AM | You mean both have a fondness for blowing stuff up with alchemical substances? |
| Zombomaniac03-23-07, 12:40 AM | Excellent. You have more in common with him than you know.... Brae wants to kill both of them? Cause Brae does want Richard dead if you didn't already know that. :P |
| Demonfey03-25-07, 07:53 PM | Quick question, Dyne: since I'm still trying to bust Marxis and Brae out IG due to how I was RPing before, does that mean any attempt I make would fail in the end, or that Brae would just get caught? |
| Dyne03-26-07, 01:31 AM | Quick question, Dyne: since I'm still trying to bust Marxis and Brae out IG due to how I was RPing before, does that mean any attempt I make would fail in the end, or that Brae would just get caught? Depends on the circumstances. Look at it this way, you have a free decoy. ;) |
| Demonfey03-26-07, 01:32 AM | Well, :censored: . There goes some of my plans. |
| Dyne03-31-07, 02:18 PM | Sorry that things have been going so slow lately. I have NOT abandoned this game, I've just been extremely busy lately. We've got a performance a few days from now, and I've been practicing my guitar pretty much nonstop. I'm posting up the details for the first challenge. You will be paired up with someone else (randomly determined, and they could be from the other team), and you guys will also be controlling the NPC warriors that the other PC's fight. You won't have to worry about me disappearing for a week and putting the game on hold, since all I'll be doing is refereeing. Also, don't worry Demonfey, I'll make sure you'll have plenty of stuff to do. Now, next IG post incoming.... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder03-31-07, 05:33 PM | Orcy would love to see Brae and Richard teamed up, but bars tend to make that difficult. |
| Dyne04-01-07, 12:33 AM | Orcy would love to see Brae and Richard teamed up, but bars tend to make that difficult. That would be interesting. Well, we do have the next best thing: Nightscreamer teamed up with one of the antagonists. |
| Dyne04-01-07, 02:37 AM | I'm working on the map and stats for the NPC's right now. Gonna post it all up tomorrow. Also, to be clear, the Founder's Festival thing is basically the first adventure of the campaign. Most of you should obtain enough XP to go up a level before it's done. And, for the heck of it, because I've been gone so much, I'm awarding all of you 60 XP each to make up for it. Now let's get this thing back on track. |
| Wilds04-02-07, 12:39 AM | rgr, wandering in and out to see whats going on |
| Dyne04-12-07, 11:22 PM | I'm sorry to say it, but this game is now fairly dead. I suppose I'm pretty much to blame for that. :( What I want to ask, is if you guys want to pick up the pieces and try to start it up again. I probably made the mistake in starting it out too much "deep immersion storytelling" when many of you wanted more immediate action, and I'll try to compensate next time around if I can understand your playing styles better. Also, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to have a "DM's Assistant" of sorts, someone to bounce ideas off of and to help keep things moving, ease the load of trying to play with two adventuring parties at once. |
| Demonfey04-13-07, 12:03 AM | I'd be willing to give it a try again. Can I get out of prison yet? |
| CaptainShar04-13-07, 12:18 AM | I'm certainly on often enough - I'd be happy to be the assistant unless you need someone with more rules knowledge. Oh, and no problem with the character stuff. It'd just be nice to keep going, either introduce a new character-incident we have to react to, or move on to some kind of combat. Either one works. |
| Faithful_One04-13-07, 09:11 AM | I am more than willing to help and keep going. Aswell I am sure it is much the same for everyone else. Just give us something to do.:) |
| Dyne04-14-07, 02:16 PM | I'm certainly on often enough - I'd be happy to be the assistant unless you need someone with more rules knowledge. Excellent. You shall learn the ways of the Force, my young apprentice, like your father before you. I mean... oh whatever. Actually, I just had an idea. If I could have one or more players from each the protagonists and the antagonists teams, they could aid in setting up challenges/adventures/etc. for the other team. That way no one is really privy to info their characters shouldn't know, and the plot of their own campaign isn't spoiled for them. |
| Zombomaniac04-14-07, 03:54 PM | But with a set up like that the player would be tempted to work things to the advantage of their group. They would make things work out badly for the other team. Now I am not saying that this will happen and personly I think everyone here is better then that, but I felt it must be said. |
| Dyne04-14-07, 11:00 PM | But with a set up like that the player would be tempted to work things to the advantage of their group. They would make things work out badly for the other team. Now I am not saying that this will happen and personly I think everyone here is better then that, but I felt it must be said. Actually, I'd more be using them for ideas and such. I'm not stupid enough to let someone send a Tarrasque after you guys, or something ridiculous like that. |
| Zombomaniac04-14-07, 11:04 PM | Actually, I'd more be using them for ideas and such. I'm not stupid enough to let someone send a Tarrasque after you guys, or something ridiculous like that. Glad to hear it. So basicly they would go "I think actions X, Y, or Z would be great for them" and you would deside "Z is good, but I want to throw in W." Sounds good. If you need help I would be more then happy to. |
| Dyne04-15-07, 10:21 PM | I've been thinking of changing Bristol's name, since it seems kindof lame and tacky to use the name of a real place for my setting. Anyone have any ideas? So far I've been considering: Cristol Pistol Crestol Something with "Tempest" in it Aer, Aeris something, I don't know Aeracus? Aerventus Aervenia is starting to grow on me, maybe I'll go with that. |
| CaptainShar04-15-07, 11:10 PM | Chardon. (Richard Town - Richardton - Chardon.) |
| Dyne04-15-07, 11:55 PM | "My name is Richard Chardon the Third. And no, I don't stutter." |
| CaptainShar04-16-07, 01:01 AM | I wasn't stuttering, I was illustrating an etymology. It starts out being called Richard Town. That gets shortened to Richardton. That gets shortened to Chardon. |
| Dyne04-16-07, 01:06 AM | I wasn't stuttering, I was illustrating an etymology. It starts out being called Richard Town. That gets shortened to Richardton. That gets shortened to Chardon. I know, but Richard Chardon sounds like he's stuttering. Richard-chard. And I want it to still be the last name of the royal family. For example, if I go with the Kingdom of Aervenia, the prince will be named Prince William Aervenia III. |
| CaptainShar04-16-07, 04:15 PM | Ah. Explaining that you wanted it to be the last name, in the first place, would have made more sense. Happy naming. |
| Dyne04-16-07, 05:24 PM | Ah. Explaining that you wanted it to be the last name, in the first place, would have made more sense. Happy naming. Ah, I forgot to specify. Players have until the end of today to get in their posts at the Bristol (name pending) thread, or they lose out on their chance to grab a handful of gold. This is taking way too long, the game has already been bogged down too much, we need to move forward. |
| Dyne04-21-07, 03:55 PM | Looks like Nightscreamer and Turalisj are gonna be left out of the encounter at the game thread. And unless anyone has any objects, the name of "Bristol" is now being changed to "Aervenia" in all instances (name of the kingdom, capital city, royal family, and all). |
| Dyne04-21-07, 06:37 PM | A notice: I posted up this campaign setting in the Campaign Workshop forums. It can be found here: Aervenia (Setting of the Elements and more) (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=833550) Feel free to look it over. There is some new stuff in there, as well as some old. You may learn something new about the world that your character is adventuring in. |
| Dyne04-30-07, 10:21 PM | I was out of town for the weekend, but I'm now back again. I probably should've given you guys notice, but I was so busy I forgot. Anyway, I'm back again, so let the game continue! |
| Dyne05-05-07, 03:30 PM | If Wilds doesn't hurry up and take his turn by the end of today, I will be taking it for him. The game has been in a stall for nearly a week, we need to keep things moving. |
| Dyne05-07-07, 12:23 AM | Woo hoo, WizO_Shadow finally got around to changing the name of the city thread! The transition to Aervenia is now complete. :evillaugh On another note, combats are running exceptionally slow. Such is the nature of PbP gaming, but it can still get a little frustrating and dull. One of the ideas awhile back was to run combats over AIM, and have the roleplay be for the threads. It would require groups to be online all at the same time, but combats could run a LOT faster. What would everyone's thoughts on that be? |
| CaptainShar05-07-07, 12:54 AM | That could work for the next week, but I'm going home soon, and I may not be able to get on the internet regularly and/or for long periods of time...willing to try it, though. |
| Wilds05-07-07, 08:12 AM | I can try ot be online at certain times, though in roughly 3 weeks i start full work due to internship so my time would go down the drain. basically after 6pm -6 gmt which is absurd for everyone else |
| Dyne05-21-07, 04:28 PM | Grr, this game is running so slow. Is there anything we can do to speed things up? Can you guys check in more often? Am I just boring you? Some of you guys haven't even posted in weeks. What the heck happened to Nightscreamer? |
| CaptainShar05-21-07, 07:24 PM | Could just be summer, but perhaps moving on to the competitions and various other plot-related activities might prove more intriguing than a random street fight? Though I do not mean to imply that the current fight is not somehow tied to the larger plot, it sure seems 'random encounterish' at the moment. |
| Wilds05-21-07, 09:46 PM | im checking at least 3 times a day normally, start work in a week so will check at lunch if able otherwise before and after work |
| Dyne05-21-07, 11:06 PM | Could just be summer, but perhaps moving on to the competitions and various other plot-related activities might prove more intriguing than a random street fight? Though I do not mean to imply that the current fight is not somehow tied to the larger plot, it sure seems 'random encounterish' at the moment. Random? Oh, right. Yeah, it's nothing more than a random encounter. :smirk: As for the people that keep holding things up: delays make me irritated. And when I'm irritated, I get the urge to kill off player characters. :evillaugh Seriously, this is the last PbP battle I will ever, ever run. |
| Demonfey05-21-07, 11:10 PM | Kill off Marxis. I wanna get out of jail, and that's not going anywhere IG. |
| Dyne05-21-07, 11:38 PM | Kill off Marxis. I wanna get out of jail, and that's not going anywhere IG. I was gonna have a scene where you and Zombo have a chance to escape, but I've been waiting for this street fight to resolve. :waits: |
| Dyne05-22-07, 12:25 AM | Actually, you know what, I could run that scene right now. Zombo, Demonfey, do I have both of your guys' IM addies? |
| Demonfey05-22-07, 12:35 AM | Yeah. |
| Dyne05-22-07, 12:42 AM | Yeah. Then we can start whenever all three of us are online at the same time. Though, I'll need to draw up a few maps and such first. Tomorrow would be a great time to get started. |
| Demonfey05-22-07, 05:04 PM | Okay. If you and Zombo are on and I'm not, just drop me a PM. |
| Dyne05-23-07, 10:46 PM | Okay. If you and Zombo are on and I'm not, just drop me a PM. Same for you two. |
| Dyne05-26-07, 03:04 AM | Sorry I haven't been online as much the last few days. I have relatives visiting from out-of-state, so I've been busier with them. I pretty much have Demonfey's and Zombo's escape thing worked out, just need to find the time to play through it. |
| Dyne06-02-07, 01:55 PM | @ Zombo and Demonfey: Whenever you guys are ready, just get on AIM. I could run it for each of you individually, if there's too much trouble coordinating all of us online at once. If it takes too long, I'll probably have to move on to the first competition in the Aervenia thread to give people something to do (meaning you guys will miss out on it, since you're still in jail). |
| Faithful_One06-03-07, 11:45 PM | Ok everyone I got an annoucement to make! Both Zombo and I wont be here during the summer. From about today till August we will be in Basic Training for the Army National Guard. I don't know if I will come back to the boards after I get back, but I know Zombo said he wants to. Also Zombo told me that some (if not all) of you think Zombo and I are the same person. We aren't. Zombo got me hooked to the boards and we know eachother in real life (he's the one that got me to join the Army so you can blam him for me leaving;) ). Now that I look at our posts I do see that they look alot a like, but I leard most of my boards and typing styles from Zombo since this is only my second board to post on, thus I depended on Z to tell me stuff.:) |
| Zombomaniac06-03-07, 11:58 PM | Yup. Faith and I will be gone till sometime in August. We leave on the 6th.:) |
| Dyne06-04-07, 01:36 AM | Now that I look at our posts I do see that they look alot a like, but I leard most of my boards and typing styles from Zombo since this is only my second board to post on, thus I depended on Z to tell me stuff.:) That's a new one. Ironic that you "might not be coming back" after suspicions are raised that you're just one of Zombo's MuP's. Further ironic that you log off immediately after posting this message, then a few minutes later Zombo logs in to post a message backing you up. And people don't duplicate someone else's exact posting style like that, it's gotta be one of the most retarded excuses I've ever seen. You know what, I'm sick of this ****. Zombomaniac, take your cheating die rolls, multiple accounts, and crappy excuses somewhere else. You are no longer welcome to participate in my games. I was willing to give you a second chance, but I see that I was mistaken. |
| Zombomaniac06-04-07, 08:35 AM | That's a new one. Ironic that you "might not be coming back" after suspicions are raised that you're just one of Zombo's MuP's. I was willing to give you a second chance, but I see that I was mistaken. :uh-huh: WTF? For the last time Dyne Faithful and I aren't the same f***ing people. He is the only one that sees the resemblence in our posts. I can never see the "posting styles" you people talk about except when someone posts in third person a lot. Thats the only real "style" I have ever really noticed. Also great job building up the courage to kick me and Faithful out when we just told you we were leaving already. Ya real good job there.:bored: |
| Faithful_One06-04-07, 11:59 AM | Well everyone it turns out that Z and I are leaving today instead of Wed. So this will be the last post I make till sometime in August. Z is already up in the city waiting to leave so he wont be making any more posts. He called me to tell you all he has had a great time here and I have had a lot of fun aswell.:) Best of luck in the future!:) |
| Dyne06-04-07, 10:11 PM | Also great job building up the courage to kick me and Faithful out when we just told you we were leaving already. Ya real good job there.:bored: I was not entirely certain you were using multiple accounts until your "leaving post". Now, I become more and more sure of my position with every post you make. I should've banned you when I first caught you cheating on dice rolls, but I wanted to give you another chance. I see now that I was mistaken. Please, do not bother coming back when your "basic training" is over. |
| Wilds06-05-07, 07:09 PM | ...so....where does everything stand now? player wise? |
| Dyne06-05-07, 07:11 PM | The Heroes Orcy the Green Wonder (Sireon Licarnus, Human knight) Skull_of_Shadow (Richard, Human wizard) Nightscreamer20 (Xel, Changeling rogue) Sssargoth (Orn Sauriv, Silverbrow Human warlock) The Antagonists Wilds (Alth Shrenan, Whisper Gnome rogue) CaptainShar (Beauregard Sweetwater, Halfling swashbuckler) turalisj (Shrean, Forestlord Elf dragonfire adept) Demonfey (Marxis, Half-Elf Bard) Nightscreamer hasn't posted in forever, so I'm not sure if he still wants to be in the game. But currently, neither party has a healer (except maybe Marxis). |
| Wilds06-05-07, 08:08 PM | ok, so this can still work, cool im back working, so i can check during lunch if i have too and on after 6-ish pm Central time |
| Demonfey06-05-07, 10:21 PM | Sorry for the delay, I'm still deciding which would be more IC: if I want to escape, or try to talk my way out in the trial. |
| Dyne06-06-07, 05:58 PM | Well, perhaps this will help in your decision (I took the liberty of making your Knowledge check for you): The mark on your hand was put in place when you were arrested, and it is effectively the "mark of the outlaw". If you escape, any guard that sees your mark will try to arrest you. However, there are certain means of getting the mark removed, but most involve the black market. If you went to trial and proved your innocence, the mark would be removed and you would be set free. That is, if you prove your innocence. |
| Wilds06-06-07, 09:32 PM | hmmm guilty until proven innocent. |
| Dyne06-06-07, 09:45 PM | hmmm guilty until proven innocent. Actually, it's to make sure they don't escape before their trial. If the prisoner is proven guilty, the mark is replaced with a different one. |
| Wilds06-09-07, 08:20 PM | i just found the italics amusing and that they have to prove innocence |
| Dyne06-15-07, 02:59 AM | Nightscreamer has announced that he won't be able to keep playing in this game, due to time limitations. So, the "good guys" are down to three players, and they are missing a trapfinder and a healer. "Bad guys" still don't have a healer, though Demonfey's bard could kinda sorta fill that role if he picks a bunch of healing spells. |
| Skull_of_Shadow06-15-07, 11:14 AM | I say we remedy this by giving Richard more money, large firey explosions fix all problems. |
| CaptainShar06-15-07, 10:12 PM | Correct spelling is even better... At any rate, are we now to so few that it would be wise to recombine the parties? Sure would have some interesting dynamics, but it might save trouble in the long run. |
| Dyne06-15-07, 10:35 PM | Correct spelling is even better... At any rate, are we now to so few that it would be wise to recombine the parties? Sure would have some interesting dynamics, but it might save trouble in the long run. Not quite at that point yet. There are 3 "good guys" and 4 "bad guys"; if we combined them together, we'd have a whopping 7 people, but still no healers (except maybe Demonfey). The main problem isn't the size of the groups, it's that we have too many dang warlocks.... Let me rephrase that. The antagonists group could work out fine: Beauregard as the warrior, Alth as the trapfinder, Marxis as the healer/support character, and Shrean as the blaster. The good guys are the ones in trouble, having no trapfinder or healer, but double blasters (Richard and Orn). It could be made to work, but the types of encounters they could face would be extremely limited. If the groups were combined, we'd have a crapton of firepower and very limited healing, if any. |
| Demonfey06-15-07, 10:54 PM | I'm almost ready to give up on Marxis and play a TN druid, or maybe a cleric. I can't think of any good lies except that our team's a counter-group working to prevent anything happening to the Crown, with the fake Marxis being an agent working with Miss Moonwrath that I was trying to impersonate because he is a master of disguise. Main reason I decided on a backup character was because we had a healer. |
| Dyne06-17-07, 04:44 AM | Are you gonna try to get Marxis free, or do you want to create a new character? If you want to play a druid or cleric, it could easily be inserted into the game as another Founder's Cup champion that's part of the antagonist group. EDIT: More news, turalisj has also left the game. So, we now only have 6 players. Looks like we'll be combining the groups. |
| Wilds06-17-07, 02:16 PM | So do we need to have radical alignment switches? |
| Dyne06-17-07, 03:14 PM | So do we need to have radical alignment switches? Depends. We could handle this in either of two ways: The whole "bad guy" stuff is completely forgotten, evil characters probably become neutral instead, and the like. Marxis doesn't need to come up with any lie, since he really wasn't doing anything conspiratorial. Everything is fine and dandy. I work out a clever way to get the two groups to combine in-game. There could be lasting RP consequences, such as the two sides not really trusting each other despite working together, stuff like that. It's really up to you guys, I suppose. I can work with either. |
| CaptainShar06-17-07, 04:08 PM | I'd prefer to stick with the characters as they are. Reg, at least, isn't even Evil at the moment. And it could make the RP so much more interesting, with subtle conspiracies and anti-conspiracies floating through all of the other action. |
| Demonfey06-17-07, 10:40 PM | I would like to ditch Marxis, though that could be done with the appearance of a continued conspiracy. I just can't think of anything convincing. |
| Wilds06-18-07, 08:11 PM | I dont mind either way, the only difference would be Alth going from NE to N or CN, so its no biggy really. Him being NE only means he is looking out for himself and is willing to do some possibly bad things to get it. Hes not some pyscho, though does apparently have a problem keeping his mouth shut :D |
