Welcome to the All Races Foundation!

”Ummm, what is this place, again??”
This is a general thread for all races foundations, all the 11 foundations. We gather here, we discuss, we chat, we create... I will soon open a library for the custom stuff we created. Plus, if you have a question about races, our members can help you!

”Why a new foundation overlaps all the races foundations?”
Because we have lots of foundations, lots of foundations means lots of threads, lots of threads means lots of thread/ post traffic. Plus, When making a one big thread, we would have at least 75-100 members, this means a warmer place for commenting on each other. Plus, this will be a more social then the other foundations, whenever you post a custom stuff, there will be someone to comment on. Always.

”So, how do I join?”
The foundation divides into 11, as stated below. When you join the races foundation, you actually join one or more sub-foundations of the races foundation. For example, I’m a member to following sub-foundations: Elf, Human, Half-Elf, Drow. Not to forget, if you’re a member to one of the races foundation, you’re automatically a member.

”I’m confused, my previous foundation thread stays still and they are still discussing there, why??”
Of course they will. Many members mean many topics, so this place will be exclusive to big topics and / or general topics plus custom stuff comments. If, say that a dwarf foundation member wants to create a new sub-race of dwarf, he needn’t to post his questions here. But if an half-elf foundation member and dwarf foundation member wants to create a dwelf (dwarf / elf), it would be healthier to post the questions here. In the end, when the race is finished, he / they (gaia :P) can post the link here so everyone could comment on.

The FAQ will be edited soon...

Cool, an automatic member because im with Kirellagen...:D

I like any unusual race/class combinations, but my favorite race ever are the Filchers...:)

Well, everyone is gonna have to get used to my weird ideas!. I currently want to play... ;)

NG Female Musteval Wizard (brought up by Ursinals)
CN Male Rhek Fighter/Ranger (sick n' tired of upholding his races laws, so he left them)
CG Male Umbral Human Sorceror (although a good guy, he is kinda insane and has a darkside)

What do you think, which one should I play?...

Ok...I am a tad bit confused...

Before I dident read top and I just thought everyone was picking a title and stuff and I was gonna be the Equal Rights Man.

But uhh...

Whats with the listing with all those peoples names in bold then words after them? What does that describe? Is that bascially describing what foundation you are from or what position/race you want to represent.

If I may...I would like to become the "Judge" sorta who makes sure all races are treated and respected equally.

I am a memeber of the Elf/Half-elf/Harper(Meh there are a new breed!)/Dwarf/Half-orc Foundations. The last two I havent visited much and I focus more on the harper/half-elf foundations.

Sorry For my Confusion: Lord Frostbite Ravenheart.

HALF-DROW RACIAL TRAITS

- Half-Drow are medium-sized
- Half-Drow base speed is 30 ft.
- Half-Drow get 60 ft. darkvision
- Half-Drow get low light vision
- Half-Drow if raised by the drow parent know drow sign
- Half-Drow get drow spell like abilities 1/per week (instead of 1/per day)
- +2 dex
- -2 con
- +2 int
- +2cha if female
- Half-Drow have Drow weapon prof.
- Half-Drow have spell resistance 6 + char lvl
- Half-Drow have +2 racial bonus to will saves vs. spells and spell like abilities.
- Languages
Automatic languages=Elven, Undercommon, and Common
Bonus languages=any
- favored class=any
- ECL adjust +1

they have no light sensitivity due to their human parentage
racial features are human eye color and silver/white hair, black tan skin

female half-drow would fallalong the same line a male Drow, maybe a little lower. I guess some of it could depend on who the Drow parent was. Male half-drow would be lower on the social scale, probably just above slaves.

humans would see drow as they see "black" humans and elves would generally hate them.

Cool stats, very cool. I personally think the SR is uneccessary. What is Drow Sign, just out of a matter of intrest?. But altogethor these stats are perfect. I'd imagine a half-elf with white hair and dark (but not quite black) skin.

Im thinking of playing a beatiful Elf druidess, completly flawless in grace and form. The only twist being she has 2 heads. Just imagine a very loving, charismatic Zaphod Beeblebox. What does anyone think of this...:)

the SR would be a racial carry over from drow parentage

drow sign is the silent hand code that drow use
it is like signlaguage in RL but far more intricate
basically you can talk about anything with some one in your line of sight

that discription of skin is exactly what i was looking for

and they also have silver hair it actually says that in the FRCS

Odari: Looks good. Not being familiar/comfortable with the concept of how to translate the LA, I wouldn't know how to comment on that point.

Unknown: Your half-drow is something I might consider playing someday if I weren't so comfortable playing dwarves.

Buried in the Dwaf Foundation is someone's idea for a Jade Dwarf, which is an Oriental influenced dwarf. At some point, I'll see if I can dig it out for others to see.

My name's CaptMeathead, but friend's and Dwarves may call me Oskar.

Wherever the trade routes shall take me goes I...:smirk:

Any other catchy title I could earn would be welcomed! My character is a mountain dwarf and is relatively new for me to play, just wondered if any one had any race info regarding them that I could use for referance in regards to playing him "correctly".

Welcome, Oskar/CaptMeathead. When I read your post, I thought that you played a character that liked killing dwarves; I'm glad that's not the case. Please accept my welcome to the All Races Foundation. I'm not very good at coming up with new titles, so I'll leave that to our illustrious Foundation starter. I'll respond to your question about dwarves in the Dwarven Foundation.

The biggest female chooses often a male with the biggest and colourful tail feathers. A Oxlaku male is between the 6 and 6 and 6¡¦8¡¨ feet and weight approachability 80 pounds. Females are note worthy bigger between the 7¡¦7¡¨ and 8¡¦4¡¨ and weight approachability 116 pounds.
Relation: If a Oxlaku could choose she wouldn¡¦t bother with other races as all. They kill any Tabaxi and Jaguahare on side. Distrusts Humans, Chac and Aarakocriaan. But are on good terms with the pipintu doing for there work on there roads and with the jade dwarfs.
Alignment: As a Oxlaku you don¡¦t care if someone is good or evil. It is a duty to kill as many humanoids as bloody as possible and to inspire others to protect there children and community just as they do. Many Oxlaku¡¦s are Lawful but since females lose there temper often it looks more that a Oxlaku community is chaotic but female Oxlaku are often more natural then chaotic.
Oxlaku Lands: The Oxlaku live deep in the rainforest. Although it is against there believe to hurt a strong tree (they respect that a tree apart from al its dangers still stands strong) they do not allow new young trees to grow on Oxlaku roads and cities. A Oxlaku city is connected with a other Oxlaku city by a road system. Many of them cared for by the pipintu folk. A human with the right mind would approach parts in a forest where the hoots of owls grow louder with every step you take.
Religions: The Oxlaku has a ritch patheon that strongly rebesents that of man. Once they believed that there gods needed blood and bravery of there devoted followers to survive. Not many believe it now and a new believe has herrised in its place. The gods are full and the Oxlaku have the change to turn into deities as well when a tribe shows in of Honour, Diternemasion and Compassion. In the Oxlaku mind it is more like this Allowing both allies and nemeses to grow as strong as you are, Bleed till you and your enemy can¡¦t bleed no more and kill cowards to spear them a worst suffering in the afterlife. The ascension could take hundreds of generations to undertake.
Language: A Oxlaku speaks it own language and jade dwarven only the males can read and write both scripts. For a female to read and write she has to buy a other slot females don¡¦t bother to learn to write it is saved for the weakest members of there race the man. Intelligent Oxlaku both male and female can learn Merchant tong, Pipintu, Aarakocriaan and knot script.
Adventures: Numerous are the male adventures sick of there treatment in there soseity they head into the realm of man where they enjoy the killer reputation of there own race. Females leave doing lost power struggles to seek fortune elsewhere.

Cool races Ouroboros, especially the Oxlaku. Im gonna repost my old race the Musojen, inspired by Fox Lee... (cheers my dear... :D )

MUSOJEN
Musojen are known for their charming personalities, grace and feminity. They have an innate understanding of young children and a mastery of the healing arts. It is also well known that Musojen have a fear of the living dead, more so then any other race. It is rumored that Musojen are somehow related to Fey due to their mildly magical nature and almost boundless beauty.
Personality: Musojen are very friendly and charming creatures. They are good at settling arguments and patiently listening to those who need someones shoulder to cry on. Despite their diplomatic natures they care little for politics. They prefer a life of artistic expression and creative practice. Their patient friendly natures also allow them to be at one with the sometimes inexplicable innocent nature of children. One of their most intresting features however is their inherent feminity regardless of gender. They can be sensitive and over emotional, but they are forgiving and respectful of others lifestyle choice. They seem to have an unusually potent fear of death, either of their own or of those they know. This is probably linked to their unusual phobia of undead beings.
Physical Description: Musojen stand around 4 1/2 feet tall, standing a head taller than dwarves but a head shorter than elves. They weigh around 75 to 95 pounds. They have slim feminine bodies and hairless exotic yellow skin and black bands going around their arms, neck and legs. They have no nose and their head is like that of a female deer. Their feet are somewhat hoof-like, but they have 3 toes on the front of its circumfrence like a rhino or an elephant would have. The only hair they have is on their head so either gender like to keep it long, luxurious and well-kept. They have two small blunt horns on each of their temples that are black in color with bands of yellow going around them. Regardless of gender they all look feminine. Infact male and female Musojen have identical larynxs and voice-boxes, so men speak at the same picth and tone as women in their society. Those who are not familiar with Musojen may have to take a few minutes to figure out who in a group of Musojen is male. Musojen have feathery tails that get bigger and longer due to their age. Babies dont have any but as the child grows so do their feathers, which are small and fluffy to begin with. As the grow older they become longer and stiffer. The oldest Musojen have massive peacock-like plumage, and all though the color has faded by then they far from unimpressive. Their feathers are at their best during the age of 20 to 30 years. The feathers are always black with blue, magenta, violet, cyan or purple patterning. The movements of these feathers also work as a sort of sign language that only other Musojen understand. They reach adulthood at 18 and live around 90 years.
Relations: Musojen find it hard not to get along with other races. Their curious patient natures allow them accept others for what they are. Musojen love the care-free friendly natures of gnomes and halflings. They appreciate the elves subtley and artistic nature. They find the varied cultures of humanity fascinating, as well as the fact they are another race who has learnt to fear mortality. They cant understand the gruffness and tough natures of dwarves and rarely like the bestial approach of half-orcs.
Alignment: Musojen are almost always neutral good. Adventuring Musojen however perhaps lead a somewhat different lease of life, but rarely straying from the path of good. Adventurers are often the minority of Musojen who choose to face their fear of death rather than turn away from it. Those few Musojen who are evil are lusty, manipulative and deceitful monsters.
Musojen Lands: Musojen often live in lush forests, often those that are enchanted in some way. They like to have plentiful supplies of water, medicine and herbs. Infact their isn't much that a Musojen forest does'nt supply. Musojen in human lands are generally child-minders or medicinal alchemists, sometimes working as traders to-and-from human and Musojen lands.
Religion: Musojen will worship any god who is benevolant and cares for his or her worshippers. They have an adoring respect for gods like Ehlonna, Pelor and the like. The godess who created the Musojen race is named Tensh'iri. She looks like a tall four armed Musojen with large butter-fly like wings that shift with eldricth colors. She teachs to comfort the innocent and traumatized. Hence her clerics tend to aid the injured in times of strife. She grants the Charm, Good, Healing and Protection domains.
Language: Muso is the language of the Musojen, it is a gregarious tounge that sounds like a cross between elven and gnome with a slight oriental hint. In truth however their language is actually a sub-text of Sylvan, perhaps something to do with their rumored Fey ancestry.
Names: Musojen children are given the first part of their name, which has to be only one syllable long that has significance with an event on the day they were born. When they reach the age of 10 however they must pick the other part of their name of something that is personally significant to them. When translated, a Musojen's name might be 'Snowrose' or 'Suneagle'.
Adventurers: Musojen adventure out of wanderlust and innate curiosity. A few adventure to face their fear of death and confront it head on. They probably gain this innate adventurous spirit from their supposed faerie ancestry.

MUSOJEN RACIAL TRAITS

+2 Charisma, +2 Wisdom, -2 Strength, -2 Constitution: Musojen are charming, friendly and understanding beings, but they have feminine and gentle physiques.
Medium-size: As Medium-size creatures, Musojen have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Musojen base speed is 30 ft.
Low-light vision: Musojen can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinquish color and detail in these conditions.
+2 racial bonus on Diplomacy, Gather Information and Heal checks: Musojen are easy to get along with, and have gentle caring personality.
+1 racial bonus on Spot checks; Musojen have sensitive eyes.
+1 innate bonus on Diplomacy (stacking with their racial bonus) checks when dealing with humanoid children who are of adolescent age or under: Musojen adore children and have an innate understanding of their somewhat incoherent natures.
+2 racial bonus on Appraise checks that are related to healing potions or medicinal items: Musojen grow up among a hospitable and medically well-stocked culture.
-2 morale penalty to attack rolls against undead, due to their innate anxiety of death and a phobia of the living dead. However they may make a Will save (DC 10 + undead opponents Cha modifier) to overcome the phobia for 2d4 rounds.
Because of their charm and grace a Musojen if it so desires can attempt to make itself seem as non-threatening and submissive as possible. If they choose to do this, their opponents must must make a Will save (DC 10 + Cha modifier). If they fail they become one level friendlier towards the Musojen, for example a hostile NPC will become unfriendly. If they suceed their Will save they suffer no penalty and gain an attack of opportunity against the Musojen. If there is more than one Musojen, the DC gains a +2 circumstance bonus, up to a maximum of +6. Constructs, oozes, plants, undead, vermin and other Musojen are unaffected by this.
Once per day, a Musojen can cast cure light wounds as a 5th level Druid. If a child of adolescent age or under is touched by a Musojen, the Musojen at will can cure each child of 1 wound per day as though casting cure minor wounds. A Musojen cannot use its healing ability on itself, but it can heal and be healed by other Musojen.
Automatic Languages: Common and Muso. Bonus Languages: Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Halfling and Sylvan.
Favored Class: Sorceror. A multiclass Musojen sorceror class does not count when determining whether she suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing (see Experience for Multiclass Characters, page 56). Musojen are friendly and creative, the ways of sorcerory come naturally to them.

So what you're saying is that the Gnow (half-gnome/half-drow - entirely Silmarien's fault with all the "gnow" this and "gnow" that and "take a look at all my shiny half-elfy Gnowings") I created should have been posted here rather than the Half-Elf foundation...

Oh well.

I would imagine, Tenzhi, that where you post on a particular race depends on the characteristics of that race. If you feel more comfortable posting about your Gnow in the Half-Elf foundation, then that's where you should post, unless Lady Sil has objections to such postings. (I would imagine the same goes for other races and their respective foundations...)

Yes your Musojen look good now... but don't get overboard with balancing good stuff (bonuses) with some bad stuff ( a penalty)
Your Musojen are bad at fighting undead. So if the player had a choice it would never enter graveyards and haunted places. With that the penalty goes in feign.

Still following Admiral Ourobouros, Molth Kul brings his blazing bronze body boldly by the bar of the all races foundation

Hallo: here we have another race...

The other unusual race to come through from the Goblinsk Plane is a very different sort. The Buteo were once a proud republic of equal beings in the skies above, but the Goblinsks invaded their cloudy dwellings and enslaved them. A Buteo can easily be mistaken for an elf at a distance, and indeed scholars think they have elven ancestry, for they are as frail as elves, but closer to they have an air of tragic beauty which is very poignant- and a less poetic witness might note their vestigial wings. They are great musicians and have composed long laments on their loss of freedom and the various disasters which have happened to them- and the music is so beautiful that the listener normally doesn't reflect that this is basically a drawn out whinge. They are generally humble individuals, and they try to avoid Goblinsks where possible- they wander the world composing fresh dirges.

Buteo can also be played as Pcs in the Illuvatade (some are with the other bards). Favoured class is Bard, tend loosely towards CG but adventurers can be any alignment.
Stats: -2 Con, +2 Cha
Size M
Vestigial wings- these have no effect
Low Light vision
Like Elves, Buteo enter Trance rather than sleeping.
Great musicians: +4 on Perform checks, +2 Listen +2 Bonus on checks against spells cast by playing a musical instrument for peaceful purposes.
Languages: Common, Buteo, Goblinsk, Bonus Languages, Elvish, Dwarven, Mermish
Any comments welcome.

Welcome, Azer Firelord. That looks like an interesting race; were they always of flesh and blood? Or were they incorporeal (at least in part) at one time (to help with their aerial existence)?
Azer Firelord

06-02-04, 01:14 PM
Ooh, good thought I hadn't even considered that.

So, my original intent was no- when they lived in the sky, they had functioning wings, and could fly magically. Then the Goblinsks (see Goblin Foundation), invaded their cloud realm and enslaved them and later bred their wings out.

By the way, this back story makes Favored soul/Rainbow Servant particularly suitable classes for the Buteo- you can get your wings back!

So far, so good, Ouroboros. I like what I see, and if the rest of what you post is equally good, then we will have alot of material from which to draw "socially different" types of races. Kudos. :tiphat:

Well, I guess I'll join, since I doubt that there will be a Myconid Foundation anytime soon. (Myconids are mushroom-people found in the MM2)

Unless you create it, you doubt correctly.

If you build it, they will come

Ouroborus that's

Is the idea here that the way a race is "nurtured" by another race affects its core ability points. I.e. the nature-nurture thing?

Those additions are really cool.

Like Silmarien, I'm curious as to whether you did to reflect the nature vs. nurture concept in making the decisions you did? (I just wish I'd thought of it.)

Actually, I tried that with the Hybsil Foundation. And you can see where that got me. I had to change it to the Tauric Races Foudation.

Well it started with elfs raising a dwarven child.
He/she wil learn the ways of the elfs and seldom will go into caves.
The dwarf would grow into a more plompy elf wasn't it for rasisme other elfs would swing at him.
A dwarf child would be more coftroble alone then to be serounded by elfs it will turn to his connection to earth.
Making him/her a ideal druid because it had nothing to loose

then i did turned the table and let dwarves raise an elf most of the elfs racial skills are intressed in magic dwarves don't bother with it so a elf raised by dwarves wouldn't like arcane magic

then dwarf human, human dwarf, elf human ect :behold:

Well dwelf was posted at half elven foundation, and I don'T know where it is!

the raised system is really cool but:

High/Grey/Wild/Wood Elf:
A +1 bonus against enchantments
* And a +1 bonus to spot and search checks.

These bonuses are not cultural bonuses but parental bonuses. Gnome seeing better just because an elf raised it -doesn't sound balanced or logical.

And my try with half-elf-half-humans:

Half-Elf Half-Humans:
All half-human half-elves have:
+1 bonus to listen, spot and search checks.
+2 bonus to gather information and bluff
Sleep effects immunity
Favored Class: Any

Human raised (half-human)
Bonus Feat
Bonus Language: As region

Elf Raised (half-elves)
Elven Weapon Profiency
Save vs Enchantments
Bonus Language: As elven parent.

@ Ukkodin - greetings Ukk -

@ Kirellagen

Remember if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. I'd be curious to see the item here.

I should add that I've posted many a post in my time that has been ignored. And many that have not. I focus on the wins.

Win some, lose some.

@Sssargoth :rofl:

@Ouro

...a more plompy elf...

 - I'd guess that this "elfy-dwarf" or "dwarfy-elf" would have more constutition for being a bit more plompy....

What about charisma folks - and being raised by other races? Is Charisma a "Nature" thing of "Nurture" thing? Or both? How?

@Kedi

About the Dwelf - my apologies - I've got to re-post the Summary URLs at the Half-Elven Foundation.

OK - I like the "Parental" Bonus thing! We've thus got at least two "kinds" of "nurture" influences:

1. Cultural
2. Parental

What about "peer influences" (i.e. the race of your Mentor/Trainer/Friends...)

[GM-Voice]Oh Threadkeeper Kedster! And all the People of the Foundation - this Foundation is nominated for an Award this month. One or several of the products will received a reward.

We don't know if that means packaging it up and sending it to a magazine, or to the WotC newsletter! But - you'll get something....There's a sticky top of this forum. Please contribute to it - for the Next Month's Nominations if you get a chance....[/GM-Voice]

Cheers everyone

Elfs have an other look at the world and why should a parent decline to teach her/his adopted child to look at the world as an elf does (if not the child wouldn't fit in and a good parent wants his children to have a carefree live wouldn't they  )
A gnome looks at things to find some joke
An elf looks at things for there beauty and has time a elf would be more alarmed if something doesn't seem right a gnome would ignore it if it doesn't look interesting.

Well a gnome adopted by elves learn the elven ways they learn to have more time in live and to look at the beauty of live

as for the enchantment bonus elfs don't like to be ignored and are a real pain in the donkey if you don't go in on the offer.
Why you didn't surly believe that save was pure racial elfs have to be immune for there own arrogance ;)
So elfs learn to be more resistance against enchantments effect and so does the gnome.

side not: Gnomes have much in common with elfs and dwarves

I don't think giving a race a attribute bonus
if raised.
With the more plompy elf i would say that the dwarf moves like a elf (mostly) thinks as an elf and follows the gods of the elfs.
But he/she still is a dwarf in the eyes of the elven community
The elven raised dwarf still has +2 con and -2 cha it is as the dwarven body works

As for "peer influences" just assume they are the same as ther foster parents.

A half-elf even if it has both a elven and human parent where it grows up it becomes.
Surely an elven parent tries to teach her/his child in elven ways but if her/his child grows up in a human town the child would grow up human raised.

So for a half-elf you can grow up as an elf, human or into a mixed society (basic)

<<I think mentor, trainer, friends can serve you in this way: despite the fact that listen and spot are in your skill list, you haven't spent a single rank to them. Your elven friend teaches how to use your eyes and ears, so next level your spend in listen and spot makes sense.>>

The Month is over this means the foundation loses his foundation of the month status.
But this doesn't means the posting has to stop by al means post more (not so hart in the condition it is in now)

So answer some questions please:

What was the best post in this foundation?

What was the best creation into this foundation?

Best art? Not so hard is it we had none.

And who was the best poster?

keep on posting

Where is everyone? Have we been partying a little too much, celebrating our wonderful foundation's diversity?

Speaking of celebrations, how do the different races celebrate some of the fancier events in life (weddings, completion of apprenticeships, adulthood-rites, new children, etc.)?

....inspired by Birth - Kedi's words resound through the mind. For Sil is now a parent of twins. And in birthing the newborns, Great Magic has become possible. For the fusion of Birth and Magic is a reminder that Necromancy is overly focussed on Death.

There is a side to Necromancy that is Life-Affirming, and Kedi has named this New Force. The first of these powers has become known in the New Lore of this world. For, as the children arrived, Sil was transported to the Otherworld, where Rh'iel, goddess of Half-Elves stood by, and where the surge of Life-Affirming Power was shaped by Intuition alone in the Moment. This sphere of Power exploded out to Eternity at the Speed of Light as the Twins were born. And through all matter did it pass, unhindered, and unweakened by distance.

Two Spheres of power they were. One pulse for each child. An explosion of Pereldar-Blue: Azure fused with Silver that is the Power of Stardust. Therefore, Silver-Starfire Lore has come to the Lands, and none, even amongst the Wise, can foresee what will transpire from this discovery. And from the airs, it was seen as a flash that passed through all the Lands, even mountains, before vanishing into the skies and over the horizon. Thence, and from above the atmosphere, as a living bubble below, the exploding Spheres passed through the entire planet, and then off to the Stars and to Infinity.

And Lo! Those from the Planes, claimed it passed through all the Dimensions also. Thus the Silver-Starfire of Life-Affirmation passed through multiple Dimensions, including the Prime, all at once.....

I see Sil missed this foundation, so I put it here for her. She also wants us to visit the half-elf foundation.
