Bard's Corner [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-11-04, 12:01 PM Well folks I've decided to make my own foundation. We as Bards must spread the knowledge of all the peoples we encounter. Join in my quest to have the best stories in the land. I wish to thank all of you for your support and anyone is free to join.

Stories include: adventures you've had, another persons story in your troupe, anything that is clearly in character.

Lord Darius Gyrone, Storyteller Extraordinaire.

Well, since I've recently become interested in Bards, I think it'd be nice to have a foundation for Bards.

I don't have many stories, especially not very epic ones. I'll share what I have later, 'cause I have to get off now.

But, I particularly like the Bard class for several reason:

As a musician, I find it an interesting concept to weave magic using music.
The class combines decent fighting skills with spellcasting ability. (And I particularly like spellcasting characters, as well as more martial characters)
Bards are very good at bolstering others, which is a nice thing to have in a group.

I'm currently working on a Divine Bard (Bard who uses Divine spells, and concentrates more on healing and bolstering), as well as a Forest Bard (Bard who's spells and abilities emulate the Druid and Ranger more). I'll let you know when I have something.

This is just a Role-Playing character. I doubt I'll use him in the wars.

and his gallant men
and heroes long dead..."

Gurney shouldered his baliset once more with a smile upon his face.

01-08-05, 04:41 PM Sign me up! I've always been a fan of bards and had pro-claimed myself "Chimrical and self-proclaimed King of Bards" a while back...in my earlier years. By chimrical I mean...the word that looks like that word and means imaginary.... :confused:...

Anyways...I'll post a little latter as I'm kinda sick and about to go to bed.

"My dear Gurney, a dirge singer is the frightful king of Bard, sing about evil and doom and what not. I have never really met one myself, but I believe there exists an ancient text, the Libris Mortis, which can tell you more of the interesting dirgesingers. Unles those around use know more, which they may tell."
And with that he unstraps his bastard sword and goes off in search of a comfortable chair.

Any being free to join, I'd like to make my self known as Palon Xilo, bardic spellsword and a dear friend of Aramar the Black. (Palon is another of my PCs.)

Unfortunitly, I can little of our adventures right now, it's still just a large jumble in my head. If permitted, however, I can dig up some wonderful stories of ancient times and things long forgotten.

(Mind, however, that the epic stories I could tell take place in my own campaign word, so they don't really match up with common campiagn settings, like Fearun or Greyhawk.)

Dire Singers are like country singers, they wank and complain about how much there life sucks and they spread lots of doom and misery. :D

A note to country fans: I have nothing against country music. I actualy listen to it myself. I'm just stating facts.

True, titles ae something I care little for as well. But they are fun when one decides to play around in royal politics, no? :)

And perhaps there is one thing you should know about me. While I carry a might blade, I do not wish swift death upon my enemies. My enemies can be my grestest teachers, and they may never be past hope of redemption. It is a shame when they must be killed, but somethimes it just has to be that way.
(traveling with a philosopher, monk, ex-hermit, and wizard can do these kinds of things to you.)

It is truly a shame when a creature commits an act so dreadful that it must be slain. This is one of the many things that I have learned in my travels. So naive was I, when I set out. I sought to change others to my point of view. So wrong was I. I realize now that it is both impossible and dreadful for everyone to think the same. Every living thing is different. There really is no best way of living or doing things, as far as what is in our hands. The best we can do is try to help each other out, and be accepting of different people.
