Ok, first off, this ain't no clan. Second, if you want to be part of this outfit, you've got to hate all clans with a passion. Third, the Bounty Hunter Guild has been created soley for the purpose of Rocket Ranger taking the Boba Fett name before some Jedi, Imperial, Fringe, Jawa or Rebel scum clan member takes it. Fourth, if you want to be part of the Bounty Hunter Guild, check out the following:

#1...Be the Bounty Hunter
-If you want to join the Bounty Hunter Guild, you've got to make a name for yourself. Bounty Hunter titles from Star Wars lore would be nice, but, as long as it inspires respect, dread or even curiosity from the rest of the galaxy, pick any name you'd like. I pick Boba Fett (see above).

#2...Break all ties
-If you want to be part of the Bounty Hunter Guild, you can have no part of any clan, club, group or fraternity...unless, of course, that clan or group pays you a very, VERY high fee for your membership. If this happens, feel free to join 'em and offer 'em your services. Just remember your Bounty Hunter Guild dues. Cash or minis would be best, but we'll settle for Guild members poppin' in once and a while to shoot the breeze.

#3...Embrace the hunt
-To be part of the Bounty Hunter Guild, you've got to be the best hunter you can be, not only for your own survival, but for the sake of the Guild. Hunts can take various forms, but, for our purposes, the most dangerous and daring hunts that are successful will get ya the highest regard in the Guild. Such hunts are defined by those hard-to-find miniatures that have escaped your grasp. When you catch up with that mini, as part of the Guild, you are required to share your Bounty with the Guild by letting us all know when you are successful. The more rare the miniature and more difficult the hunt, the greater the admiration when successful.

#4...Nothing personal
-Remember, Bounty Hunting is a business. Let's keep it focused. We're here to boast about our latest hunts, our latest kills (in game terms), what weapons worked best for us (successful teams), and how great it is not being bound to any clan that requires your membership. The Guild doesn't require your exclusive membership...just your loyalty and dues. ;) Share whatever you want with the Guild, but keep it tied to the business at hand, which is the SWM game.

#5...What's Your weapon of choice?
-Ok, last thing needed for Guild membership is some entry info on what weapon has worked best for you. In other words, what's a Bounty Hunter based SWM team that has been successful for ya, or is simply a favorite of yours that you can't seem to part with? I know its not usual business for Hunters to share such "tricks of the trade". Think of it more as trade secrets that you've got to share if you want the backing of the Guild. ;)
Just to show we're all equal here in the Guild, here's mine:

*Boba Fett...50pts.
*4-LOM...21pts.
*Greedo...12pts.
*Devaronian Bounty Hunter...12pts.
*Jawa...5pts.
= 100pts.

Now, who wants in?

I already hate this one as much as the other 2.

Sorry couldn't resist :D, enjoy your fun.

That's ok. Bounty Hunters are used to being hated and regarded as scum. It goes with the territory.

However, I'd like to point out that this is an official guild, not clan. The points that distinguish the two are lengthy and complicated and too many to post here. Also, I tire easily.

If forum members are looking for a clan, they're looking in the wrong place if they're looking here. The guild's purpose is to actually post about SWM, unlike the clan counterparts. If a little clan-bashing goes on, as has already began with your post, it is not necessarily endorsed by the Guild, but it won't be argued with either. ;)

Now, to share a little about the personal hunt I'm undertaking, here's a taste of the job I've just been hired for:

*********THE ENTIRE REVENGE OF THE SITH SWM SET!!!!!!************

I'll let everyone know how it's going in about a week! :D

I'm Dimetrodon. And have had good experience working with Dengar, IG-88, and 4-LOM.

Fett has been an ally at times, but only on the big hunts.

Theres been times where we get coofed up in alleys or single entry rooms, and have no choice but to go all out. There is no running from battle, only the last man standing. Firing twice isn't optional, but mandatory to crush your enemies, and capture big hits.

The last good capture I had was of a Jedi known as Mace Windu. He is currently encarcerated in my person prison facility, and waiting for pick up. I just haven't gotten a good offer yet. (trade for my windu)

Well I'm off for more galactic adventure

Part of membership requires you to post a Bounty Hunter themed squad that you like to use in the game. This is simply for the other members of the Guild to reflect upon and maybe use themselves.

Battling each other would be counter-productive for members of the Guild. Every member of the Guild is bringing something to the Guild. If you eliminate a Guild member, how are we all supposed to share in his bounty? ;) That being said, I could foresee occasions when one Bounty Hunter might take offense with another Bounty Hunter. (Bounty Hunters are kind of a sensitive sort) When this happens, we try to keep a "NO BLASTERS!" rule in effect while on the Guild thread. If you'd like to battle other Bounty Hunters to keep yourself sharp or to solve an argument, I suggest those members who are up for a fight and want to try out a Vassal game or something to post a "game wanted" message or something. Usually, those who are looking for a fight will eventually get it.

but how do you battle someone

Well, I'm afraid that's entirely up to you. I suggest looking for someone who's up for playing an online Vassal game. (You might have to look outside the Guild for this as membership is quite low at the moment. ;) ) But, one of the traits of a Bounty Hunter is resourcefulness. If you're diligent, you should be able to find someone somewhere. Unfortunately, I know nothing of Vassal or similiar gaming sites. You might want to do a search for it on the forum. As for "battling" it out on the Guild thread, I feel I must discourage this both in play by post or "imaginary" battles like certain other clans enjoy doing. This thread is for SW Bounty Hunter lovers to talk about all the stuff that has to do with the SWM game. All who use the Guild thread to talk about anything else will have a bounty put on their head so large, they won't be able to go near an inhabited star system. ;)

That's it. You're in. It's as easy as posting a team featuring a bounty hunter and letting us all know what Bounty Hunter name you're going by for the thread. Darth Sideous says more Sith than bounty hunter to me personally. ;) So, would you like a different BH title for the Guild thread, or are ya going to stick with Sidious?

Welcome to the Guild, Gents!

Now, if you'll all take a seat, we can get started!

As Bounty Hunter Guild Members, you are all advised to not read more into this thread than there is. It's meant to be a fun thread to chat about Star Wars, Bounty Hunters and SWM. Oh, and to poke fun at the other clan threads! Most of what I say is done tongue-in-cheek so keep that in mind. I just wanted to be Boba Fett, and the Guild is the place I can go to be that. :) Membership is exclusive, but it's exclusively open to all Forum members! ;) Let's just keep the topics on Star Wars, bounty huntin' and SWM subjects at hand...like the new ROTS set coming out real soon!!!!!

So, anyone got anything to say?

Let's get a few things straight before you ask any questions. I work alone and trust no one except the sound of creds. I have no business with you unless you have a bounty that needs hunting or blaster to your head.

Fett? Never heard of him... you must be mistaking me for someone else. What?! Do I look like ghost to you? I'm the real deal Mandelorian armor and all. Why is my skin blue? You ask too many questions... if you value you life you'll still your tongue and never talk of this again.

All you need to know is that I'm Jodo Kast, the best bounty hunter of the Outer Rim. My last bounty was for a Clone War criminal by the alias of Asajj Ventress. Right now I'm doing a job for the Empire hunting for a Rebel Commando who stole an Imperial Speeder on the moon planet of Endor.

My weapon of choice? None in particular... last time I used

Boba Fett
Aurra Sing
Durge
Gran Raider x1
Bespin Guard x4
150 point squad

sfx *beep* *beep* *beep*

I've stayed here too long... if you're still alive and have more questions talk to my contacts "Side Trip" by Michael A. Stakpole and Timothy Zahn. Until then [exits]

I might as well throw my lot in with you guys. Bane Malar is my bounty hunter handle.

Favorite Weapon (at the moment anyway):
Jango Fett......47 pts.
Count Dooku...52pts.
= 99 pts.

My latest acquisitions of interest were Qui-Gon Jinn and Emperor Palpatine and I'll be looking for Emperor Palpatine, Sith Lord and Anakin Skywalker, Sith Apprentice in just a few short days.

Boy, does that image bring back issues from my childhood memories! Well, it'll take more than a "sith wannabe" to take the head of Fett! I yawn in your general direction spawn of the sith! Besides, I don't think "anomanous" rebels have enough dough to make it worth the blaster wounds you're going to get for your trouble. :P

By the way, Arvor, do you have to supply your own platter, or did they give ya one for the job? If they gave ya a silver one, maybe I'll forget your comments if ya hand that over nice and quiet like.

I may be the best Bounty Hunter in the galaxy, but I've had a heck of a time trackin' down a nice silver platter to go with my Mandalorian tea set!
Rocket Ranger

03-31-05, 05:47 AM
Well, it's nice to see Bane Malar and Arvor Scarface have hunted down Qui-Gon. He's the only one from Clone Strike I need to complete the set. Something tells me, though, that he will soon be mine. Oh, yes, he will soon be mine! :evillaugh

Sorry to interrupt. This is just a reminder to stat out your characters in the Player Character Thread 3, and then to send me word of their completion and (preferably) a link, so that I can update the current PC list.

The Rebel Commando with the stolen Imperial Speeder eluded me once more but I picked up a bounty on a changling by the alias of Zam Wesell. I will not stop until the Rebel Scum is sealed in Carbonite.

I received a tip about on a new bounty for a band of Clone War criminals:
x1 Quarren Raider
x1 ARC Trooper
x1 Gungan Infantry
x1 Battle Droid Officer
and x2 Gran Raiders

What I'm saying is OOG, for all the newcomers to learn the first main rule. This rule is that we have player characters in the game, which we call the Inter Foundation War Game. I am the keeper of the current incarnation of the Player Character Thread, and so, to make sure people don't decide to just begin making stuff up, we have IG characters, the PCs who are statted out on one board, and the players that control them. It's really just a matter of making your persona have statistics and whatnot, and this way, people also know what name is taken and by who, as well as anything you would like to include.

Sorry I still have a hard time understanding what to do. So we state our character names and Star Wars miniature Squads? I hope you know this thread is only for Star Wars Miniatures... small skirmish battle and not RPGs.

Demonfey was referring to the Inter-Foundation Games, a giant RPG we're running on this board. Anyone who wants to participate is welcome. Currently, the main focus is D&D, but Star Wars RPG and D20 Modern will also be introduced into the game as soon as we work out the details of how to adapt them to one game.
