| thasis12-07-04, 06:50 PM | Welcome fellow people who love dragon. Here is a place were we discuss dragons. This is actualy a reincarnation of the Dragon Foundation. Hopefully it will get more activity. So far we have in the Guild... 1.)Thasis 2.)Demonfay 3.)jaggar 4.)Chaos Evoker 5.)lightman 6.)Grimclaw Please join and save the dragons. LOL. |
| Demonfey12-07-04, 08:55 PM | I'll join. |
| jagggar12-07-04, 08:59 PM | Do we get to discuss why dragons aren't ruling the world when they should be? :king: + :dragon: = * :invasion: |
| Demonfey12-07-04, 09:07 PM | Do we get to discuss why dragons aren't ruling the world when they should be? :king: + :dragon: = * :invasion: Because metallic and chromatic dragons fight each other. |
| ChaosEvoker12-07-04, 09:26 PM | I'll join up as well, what exactly is the purpose of the foundation? |
| jagggar12-07-04, 09:34 PM | That still doesn't explain why they don't. Or at least why lawful dragons don't. They may fight eachother, but why not also get an army of petty humans to help you out too? I'll join this if we may discuss such things and more. |
| Demonfey12-07-04, 09:44 PM | That still doesn't explain why they don't. Or at least why lawful dragons don't. They may fight eachother, but why not also get an army of petty humans to help you out too? Because then, you have a large group of armed people that know where you live, and where your hoard is. |
| jagggar12-07-04, 09:49 PM | Metallics should be loved enough so that the large group won't want to think of such a thing. Chromatics should be so feared that they believe they'll be eaten a week in advance if they even have souch a thought. |
| Demonfey12-07-04, 09:52 PM | Metallics should be loved enough so that the large group won't want to think of such a thing. Chromatics should be so feared that they believe they'll be eaten a week in advance if they even have souch a thought. Yeah, but there's always someone... |
| Tenzhi12-08-04, 12:39 AM | The reasons dragons don't rule the world is that by and large they are too self-interested (even the Good dragons) to properly bear such a responsibility. |
| thasis12-08-04, 01:15 AM | YAY Activity. So I'll add all you chaps. @Chaos Evoker Havn't you seen the Dragon Foundation. Whatever. Here we basically discuss everything dragon. I might even make a Half-Dragon character to go along with this guild to. This guild will be playing in the IFGW once it's established and it has solid members and activity by the way. |
| Tenzhi12-08-04, 01:50 AM | If I weren't a judge, I might be inclined to make one of my Blood Kobolds. Or I might make one of my Sage Dragons, as their larval forms are almost normal humanoids. Luckily I am a judge, however, so no one need be subjected to that. |
| jagggar12-08-04, 02:01 AM | Hmm, looking ahead, would "normal" races taking Draconomicon stuff for their builds be sufficent for "everything dragon"? Or would a character need to be more dragon than that? Yay for dragons. Yay for making half-dragons! (Am I allowed to say that?) |
| thasis12-08-04, 09:38 AM | Anything Dragonlike is aloud to be said here. |
| jagggar12-08-04, 10:06 AM | I was thinking more about the COC and "adult" content of what I just said. My favorite dragons, in order: Red, bronze, black. |
| Demonfey12-08-04, 08:17 PM | {A wyrmling red dragon walks into the foundation. It looks around and sits on its haunches.} Greetings. I am Pyros, and although I am the familiar of Crowley Maelhaevek, I would like to join your foundation. |
| thasis12-09-04, 09:56 AM | Welcome Pyros. It is a honur to have a dragon such as you" says the Tall Black Dragon, "My name is Qual' toras. I am a Black Dragon and a loyal ally to Thasis the Evil". |
| ChaosEvoker12-09-04, 11:29 AM | Once I make my Gold Dragon chracter i'll post his entrance. In the meantime: The reason Dragons don't rule the world is it's not worth it. They have plenty of power in and of themselves and have no need to prove it to mere humanoids. Why have to deal with the wants and needs of the people when you could sit in your lair on a nice big comfy pile of gold and eat who or whatever decides to enter? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-09-04, 11:34 AM | Once I make my Gold Dragon chracter i'll post his entrance. Besides, its much more fun toying with those humanoids when they think they have a chance. |
| ChaosEvoker12-09-04, 11:36 AM | Exactly. One of the reasons I love being a DM: I GET TO BE THE DRAGONS!...and the dungeons for that matter. |
| Demonfey12-09-04, 06:11 PM | The reason that I love having dragon familiar is that I also get to be a dragon, and a character can make the DM break down and weep for his dungeon, if managed just right... |
| thasis12-09-04, 07:45 PM | I love DMing because I can play Dragons and Dungeons and the such. Such power, what realy sucks is the fact that the players always kill the dragon. *Shakes head* |
| Demonfey12-11-04, 05:20 PM | If I was a member of that party, I would have the dragon ressurrected and try to win it over to working for me. ;) |
| lightman12-12-04, 04:51 PM | can i join? |
| Demonfey12-12-04, 06:45 PM | Sure. |
| thasis12-12-04, 08:44 PM | Welcome Lightman. @Everyone So, we need some activity. Any ideas people for topics of disscussion or projects for the guild? |
| Demonfey12-12-04, 08:46 PM | Ride of the Valkyries: Appropriate music to use for a massive flight of dragons towards one target? |
| grimclaw12-13-04, 04:47 AM | I came up with a real world recipe called dragon steaks, does that qualify me fo membership? No wait I'm doing the whole lone wolf thing never mind. Also the reason dragons dont rule the world is hundred foot flying lizards make excellant targets. :D Oh what the heck I'll make up a secondary character and join(I cant deny I'm rather fond of the things) Heres an idea,we could have clans each of the first few members pick a color and represent that type with a character(the council of wyrms reborn)I'll be silver,my favorite.I'll make a character this week and have it by this weekend(look at me I'm being all enthusiastic and stuff, must be sick). :dragon: Prepare for Artraxus the Destroyer! We should probably have age limits I suppose though council members should be pretty old.Sorry if I'm getting carried away but I'm going thru a creative surge right now(have you read this weeks edition of Grimclaw's Gazzette?). :D |
| thasis12-13-04, 09:55 AM | Welcome Grimclaw. Nice to see new faces hear. Maybe this Dragon Foundation will stand the test of time afterall. Grimclaw, I like your counsel idea. I guess for Dragon type I'm either a Black Dragon Draco-Lich or a Half-Black Dragon Cleric. I'm thinking just straight Black Dragon who is a intellegent mount of Thasis the Evil and a leader of the Dragon Foundation Reloded when not being ridden. I might even make a Gold Dragon who is a intellegent mount of Thasis the Good and the leader of the Good Dragons over hear. Don't know though. I'm probally getting ahead of myself though. :D |
| anglar12-14-04, 06:41 PM | The sound of alarms snap you to attention. In a secluded part of your domain 4 of your servants have been found dead. There is a note. It reads "Pay or Pay". |
| lightman12-14-04, 08:00 PM | okay my character took the dragon diciple class and is now a half dragon. i got an idea for talking about!why don't dragons watch their kin when togther, no adventurer could slay them? |
| NightScreamer2012-15-04, 01:41 AM | There is a mighty roar from outside the Dragon Keep. A Shadow of wings flickers across the front steps as a great *Thud* and cracking his heard from the outside. The door is thrashed open and before the Dragon court stands a Thirteen foot nightmare. His eyes glow with fury, his breath the stench of rotting flesh. His armor is silver colored and magnificent, although dirty and worn. His wings folds up like a cape around his body, battle scarred and tattered but definately usable for flight. He steps into the Guild Hall slowly, a purposeful look upon his dragonesque face. "Who here leadsss thisss pact of worthlesss lizardsss...?" |
| thasis12-15-04, 09:52 AM | You see a small orb glows up to meat this intruder. "I am not the Master, but I am a manifestation of the Masters will. The Master is currently busy with a war that his mortal lord is involved in. I will take his place though. What is it that you want?" |
| Dyne12-29-04, 07:07 PM | I think I may join this foundation. I'm currently working on a Very Young Green Dragon character. So far, he kicks butt! I'm gonna use him as the guardian of the forest of the Forest Dwellers Foundation. |
| Demonfey12-29-04, 08:23 PM | {A figure walks through the doorway, and is definitely draconic in origin, although it has some demonic and elven traits about his body. As he approaches, you catch the odors of the undead upon him, and you notice that he has no pulse.} I wish to join your ranks. I am Sulkyr. |
| thasis02-04-05, 05:48 PM | BUMP!!!! Welcome all new members. Lets get this guild booted into moving. |
| Myrdinn02-05-05, 03:04 PM | A Young adult Green Dragon enters the keep, he looks around and seems to be reassured "At last" he hisses "i have finally found it. I am Akkarin and i have come from the abandoned halls of the old council of wyms. I was told this was the new council and i have come to join that i may reprsent the Dragons of Tara-Huaidh and the great vale of Andore. Who leads you? |
| thasis02-05-05, 09:14 PM | "I am the lord of this fair guild. I may not be a dragon but I have a dragon and I understand dragonkind. I welcome you". |
| lightman02-06-05, 07:07 AM | love your new sig, thasis. A half dragon enters. Thank you for the guilds sercices, thasis. I never thought being a half dragon would be this great So how about we make more dragon types? |
| Myrdinn02-06-05, 07:21 AM | "I am the lord of this fair guild. I may not be a dragon but I have a dragon and I understand dragonkind. I welcome you". The dragon rears up in amazement "You have a dragon? you mean adragon serves you?" he looks round, "well if no-one else seems to mind." he pads off and settles in a corner. Hi every body. I've been thinking about new types of dragon for a while now. I'm trying to create a true dragon that lives in the sea, any ideas? |
| lightman02-06-05, 07:54 AM | theres an underwater true dragon in draconimicon(i mighht not be true, but i think it is) |
| Myrdinn02-06-05, 10:29 AM | I'm afraid i wouldn't know, I come from a very rural part of ireland and i had to go all the way to the capital city to find even the core books :weep: (and it still took me three hours to find them) all i have is the DMG,PHB and MM. Still would it be possible for you to post it sometime. Please.(If its not too much trouble) By the way only my dad has the internet and i only see him at weekends so i can only post on fridays, saturdays and sundays so it may be a while before i'm able to reply to what people say. But until then Long Live The Green Dragons! :dragon: |
| thasis02-06-05, 11:10 AM | @Lightman Hey lightman. Nice to see you come back here. You kinnda disapeared. Hope you have more of a nice stay. @Myrdinn "Yes dragon, I do have a dragon who serves me. I would more like to call it a frienship or a partnership though. We respect each other and help each other. I'm not like other people who request the aid of dragons. I don't tie them up and I don't whip him and I let him roam around when he wants" |
| Myrdinn02-09-05, 03:24 PM | The green dragon relaxes and says "I'm glad to hear that, nothing angers me mor than one of our kind in servitude or slavery. We dragons were born to roam through the forests and skys" He turns away thinking wistfully of his homeland so far away. If anything my character says seems to be rude, dont worry. He has a fierce pride in being a Tara-Huaidh dragon and was brought up to belive that any dragon who serves anothr creature is dishounerd and deserves exile. The Tara-Huaidh Dragons have a strict code of laws with severe penalties for breaking them. Long live the Green dragons! :dragon: |
| Medium Rare02-13-05, 10:44 PM | Yeah, same.... once I make my Gold Dragon character i'll post his entrance.... i'll be back on tues or weds or something .... working on a gold dragon PC for myself :P , gonna have some fun with that, but I've got a bunch of xenocidal maniacs in my group who all want to kill it.... hello?? Part of the story?!? Any chance I could join? :D Peace love and dragons BTW Did you know there's an *epic* DD? It continues where the book leaves off (at lvl 10) and you can go even further... the more lvls you get, the more dragon you are... hello lvl 30 colossal *true* gold dragon disciple :D :D |
| thasis02-14-05, 09:43 AM | Hey Medium Rare. Of course ya can join. Anyone who has a genuine intrest in dragons can join this humble foundation. Your character concepts sounds intressting. Good luck on it. |
| Myrdinn02-25-05, 01:44 PM | Hello? anyone here? We need something to talk about, didn't someone mention about creating mew dragon types. i was thinking about a demonic dragon with a negative energy breath weopen for my campaign in which the armies of angels, archons, elves, dwarves, dragons(?) and humans will battle the armies of the demons, devils, shadow-creatures, orcs, gnolls, goblinoids and evil humans, elves etc. the Pc's are a half red dragon, a aasimar, a wyrmling green dragon and a half bronze dragon. Who have find an ancient weopen to fight the fiends and convince the dragons (all of them) to fight. |
| turalisj03-06-05, 08:04 PM | bumped because of the growing interest in dragons. :D |
| Dyne03-06-05, 08:08 PM | Sssargoth, which level does a Green Dragon's LA go up instead of HD when he's changing to Juvenile? What does he get on that level instead of the extra HD? Knowing this would help me carry out the ECL's to beyond 20th. |
| Sssargoth03-06-05, 08:32 PM | So, when a Green Dragon reaches ECL 19, he only gets an increase in LA? Thats right And what's ELH? Epic Level Handbook I quoted you from another thread, how d'you like that. ;) |
| Dyne03-06-05, 08:38 PM | By the ELH dragons, are you referring to the Force Dragon and the Prismatic Dragon and all that? |
| Dyne03-06-05, 09:01 PM | Are there stats for a tan dragon (http://www.geocities.com/teo592/quiz/dragon.html)? I'm considering playing as one, if there are. |
| Sssargoth03-06-05, 09:07 PM | By the ELH dragons, are you referring to the Force Dragon and the Prismatic Dragon and all that? yup, them. I'll tell you a secert. :shifty: The ELH dragons at the great wyrm stage are just as powerful, if not weaker than the MM dragons as great wyrms. |
| Dyne03-06-05, 09:10 PM | Aren't they supposed to be like CR 50 at Great Wyrm, while the MM ones are around CR 20? Why would they be so much weaker? |
| Sssargoth03-06-05, 09:15 PM | you got me. as far as I can tell, they are only there because the wyrmlings are CR 20+ |
| Dyne03-06-05, 09:20 PM | That's... odd.... Anyway, it looks like there aren't any stats for a Tan Dragon already. So, I'd like to make some up. I'm not too experienced with dragons, however, so any help would be appreciated. Actually, the descriptions of most of the dragons on that site don't match the actual stats for D&D dragons. Perhaps we could come up with a "Green" Dragon that is more neutral and more tied to the forest (the forest animals as well as the plants). |
| Sssargoth03-06-05, 09:22 PM | EDIT: Dont mind this post, my computer is an ass. |
| turalisj03-06-05, 09:46 PM | That's... odd.... Anyway, it looks like there aren't any stats for a Tan Dragon already. So, I'd like to make some up. Perhaps we could come up with a "Green" Dragon that is more neutral and more tied to the forest (the forest animals as well as the plants). i'd say a tan dragon would be a white/gold dragon combo. don't ask me why a gold dragon would want to mate with a white dragon. |
| Cazic03-06-05, 11:30 PM | i'd say a tan dragon would be a white/gold dragon combo. don't ask me why a gold dragon would want to mate with a white dragon. drunk? :D But ya white/gold sounds good. Tan Dragons would probably be Always True Neutral since their description puts then as being out of the ways and not wanting to interfer with other people. There could also be a mix of silver and red. Is there any more feats or items anyone could think of for my Bronze Dragon(Very Young) Cleric? |
| Dyne03-09-05, 12:27 AM | *Starts gnawing on the Very Young Bronze Dragon* Huh? Whoops, sorry 'bout that. Nasty habit, I know. *Continues to stare at the Very Young Bronze Dragon, mouth watering* Gold Dragons are too noble to drink, especially to the point of drunkenness. *At that moment, a wyrmling gold dragon stumbles into the guild* *Hic* Jimmy cracked corn and I don't care. *Hic* *Gasp* Joe! Not again, you can't afford to be like this all the time. *Hic* At least I'm not *Hic* as cracked as Jimmy's corn. *Hic* *Stares blankly at the wyrmling gold dragon* :mymy: *Looks around at all the blank stares* *Hic* Yeah, I'm *Hic* popular. EDIT: Seriously, though, Tans are supposed to be THE magic users. Although the mating of a White and Gold would explain the emotional scarring that causes a Tan's shyness, I would think Tans would get more magical ability than either Golds or Whites. |
| lightman03-09-05, 04:54 PM | how about for tan dragons we just take any dragon that casts spells and add a template? they seem just to be very potent dragon spellcasters |
| Tenzhi03-10-05, 12:08 AM | Why tan dragons? |
| Sssargoth03-10-05, 12:52 AM | Why tan dragons? Why not tan dragons? |
| Tenzhi03-10-05, 01:23 AM | Why not tan dragons? Because tan is such a bland, broad, nondescript range of colour that such a dragon is more likely to be called "Sand Dragon," "Beach Dragon," or "Flesh Dragon" than actually being referred to as "Tan Dragon." |
| Sssargoth03-10-05, 01:27 AM | I wouldnt mind being called a sand dragon on ocassion. At least at those times I don't smell like brimstone. ;) |
| Sssargoth03-10-05, 01:38 AM | Gotta love it when humans start acknowledging that dragons really exist. Dragons are coming! (http://animal.discovery.com/convergence/dragons/dragons.html) Spread the word. :mage: :mage: :mage: :mage: |

(http://animal.discovery.com/convergence/dragons/dragons.html) Spread the word. :mage: :mage: :mage: :mage: I AM WATCHING THAT!!! No forse on this Earth will keep me from that show. :dragon: |
| Sssargoth03-10-05, 11:38 AM | your welcome. I unfortunately have to have someone record it for me. :( |
| lightman03-10-05, 05:35 PM | if i have a chance, im watching that! D&D stats will come! Real dragons...i have an idea! We make 2 types of dragons, the smart ones and the dumb ones! like maybe once they were all smart and then something happened in myth |
| Cazic03-10-05, 10:22 PM | your welcome. I unfortunately have to have someone record it for me. :( I have the same problem. :weep: |
| Sssargoth03-10-05, 10:33 PM | I have the same problem. :weep: Do you have any family with cable and a vcr or dvr? Thats how I'm gettin it. |
| Cazic03-11-05, 08:19 AM | Do you have any family with cable and a vcr or dvr? Thats how I'm gettin it. I have a fellow Dragon Lover recording it for me. |
| Myrdinn03-11-05, 01:11 PM | :cheer: :dancin: :cloud9: :dancin: :cheer:  We're alive again! :cheer: :dancin: :cloud9: :dancin: :cheer:  |
| Dyne03-11-05, 03:12 PM | Is there a 3.5 version of a Dracolich? If so, could someone tell me what changed? |
| Cazic03-13-05, 10:13 PM | Is there a 3.5 version of a Dracolich? If so, could someone tell me what changed? I myself have read some of the Dracolich in the Monster Manual 3.5, but dont know if it has change from 3.0. |
| Dyne03-13-05, 11:19 PM | Monster Manual? It isn't in the SRD for some reason. |
| Cazic03-14-05, 03:40 AM | Monster Manual? It isn't in the SRD for some reason. I don't know. All I know is it is in the MM to. |
| Tenzhi03-14-05, 06:26 AM | Monster Manual? It isn't in the SRD for some reason. Must be one of those monsters that WotC claims exclusive rights to, then. Like the Beholder and the Mind Flayer. |
| Dyne03-14-05, 01:30 PM | Beholder and Mind Flayer? You're right, I can't find them in there either. I never noticed that before. Does anyone here have both the MM 3.5 and the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting? If so, could you compare the stats for the Dracolich of both books and tell me what changed in 3.5? Please? |
| Cazic03-14-05, 11:23 PM | I finally got the Draconomicon! Happy Dance time! :cheer: :w00t: :dancin: :pint: :cloud9: :pint: :dancin: :w00t: :cheer: |
| Tenzhi03-15-05, 06:48 AM | It's a good book, but it's too bad they wasted half of it on NPC stats. |
| Cazic03-15-05, 11:11 PM | can someone post the "Pain Touch" feat I am going to use it for my Dragon. Also my dragon has been redone AGAIN. He is now a monk. :) |
| turalisj03-15-05, 11:20 PM | can someone post the "Pain Touch" feat I am going to use it for my Dragon. Also my dragon has been redone AGAIN. He is now a monk. :) a dragon monk...... |
| Tenzhi03-15-05, 11:42 PM | Gold dragons make fun monks. Tenzhi was a monk when he was in his larval form (see previous Dragon Foundation thread for the monster stats of Tenzhi's dragon type and larval form). |
| Cazic03-16-05, 12:25 AM | a dragon monk...... You have something against a dragon monk? |
| Tenzhi03-16-05, 12:34 AM | You're a bronze, right Cazic? |
| Cazic03-16-05, 01:30 AM | You're a bronze, right Cazic? Ya. Bronze and 6 yrs old. |
| Tenzhi03-16-05, 01:53 AM | Ya. Bronze and 6 yrs old. Which places you in the Very Young category, eh? So for this game you can only have two class levels. That kinda sucks. I do like dragon monks, though. As a Great Wyrm 20th level monk you'd do 6d8 points of damage with unarmed attacks, which certainly beats out your natural attacks in straight damage. |

Ya it should be good. i already have most of the feats taken care of. Most of my items are going to be custom since their arnt a whole lot of Monk Dragon weapons. :( |

Your character could feasibly still wear a Monk's Belt, though. |

| Dyne03-20-05, 03:02 PM | :bump: Another great item for a monk is the Amulet of Mighty Fists. Also, the Bracers of Armor. |
| Cazic03-20-05, 03:44 PM | ya I plan on using them. |
| Deviston03-21-05, 09:17 PM | I am a Green Half-Dragon, I CAN join!! YOU HEAR ME !! And further more, I will be member number #00000333 for 3 and 9 are holy numbers amongst my people and so it is that I wish to bare this number. 9 9 9 | | | 9 - 3 3 3 - 9 9 - 3 3 3 - 9 9 - 3 3 3 - 9 | | | 9 9 9 See? Well, maybe you can't see the amazing-ness of TRHEE, but it is in everything. Please allow me to be #333. Thank you. |
| Cazic03-22-05, 09:54 PM | Deviston what religion are you? In real life? |
| Deviston03-24-05, 08:37 AM | Nordic Pagan, why? (( patron is Odin )) |
| Cazic03-24-05, 07:07 PM | You worship Norse gods? and just to make this clear you worship them in real life not IG? |
| lightman03-24-05, 07:29 PM | Norse gods? Thats your character, right? |
| Deviston03-24-05, 09:43 PM | You worship Norse gods? and just to make this clear you worship them in real life not IG? I do worship them but worship Odin as my patron diety. I have a very wide belief of gods and godesses (( some although are just outrageous )) and have found my faith roots in the god Odin |
| Dyne03-24-05, 10:53 PM | Please don't discuss real life religion. It's against the Code of Conduct. |
| Cazic03-25-05, 12:15 AM | Ok never mind I was just going to point something out, but since you arent the relgion I thought you were then it doesnt matter to you all that much unless you want to know about the religion I thought you were. Well now I know two people that worship a pantheon of dieties. A friend of mine worships the Greek gods and goddess, mostly Apollo. |
| lightman03-25-05, 07:21 AM | I'm not norse, but my favorite norse god would be thor. (Back to roleplaying) You know, it'd be cool if some dragons worshiped odin. also, how accurate do you think Deities and demi-gods is on asgardien mythology if you own it? just wondering because i was thinking about making a new setting where they worship norse gods |
| Myrdinn03-27-05, 01:53 PM | HELLO! Use the old Celtic gods especially the Gaelic ones. I come from an area of (can't say though ou can probably work it out) where the sun god fought a demon who was his grandfather. Gods Lugh- Sun god A.K.A: Lugh of the long hand: WArrior and craftsman Danu- Mother Goddes: Created the race of Tuatha de dannen who were a magical race defeated by men and hid underground (fairies,Fey) Lir-God of the sea: four of his children were turned into swans for 900 years by his vengefull second wife Aoife who was turned into an Air-demon Mannen mc Lir: the son of Lir God of Headlands: Had a magical Boat that could sail anywhere on its own. Angus-Druid of the gods and sorcerer Demons (formorians) The enemys of the gods were demons called Formorians they came in al sorts of hideos shapes and forms. They lived under the sea and their king was a giant/cyclops called Balor who could turn enemies to stone with his eye. He was also a sorcerer. There, if anyone else wants anymore info o these or any other Gaelic gods just tell me and i'll post. |
| Deviston03-27-05, 09:26 PM | yes yes yes, blah blah, i know, not that im blah blahing you, im just saying i know about it all, im just keen to sit down and go by the Sagas and the Eddas, bu tto each his/her/its own! |
| Myrdinn03-28-05, 02:28 PM | I havn't read up on norse mythology for a while now, but are there any dragons in it apart from the world serpant I know someone who worships the tuatha de dannen and the old gaelic gods (By the way, my favorite norse god would be Loki though i know strictly speaking he isnt a proper god) |
| Cazic03-28-05, 09:59 PM | I havn't read up on norse mythology for a while now, but are there any dragons in it apart from the world serpant I know someone who worships the tuatha de dannen and the old gaelic gods (By the way, my favorite norse god would be Loki though i know strictly speaking he isnt a proper god) I am pretty sure there is a dragon in Norse beliefs. i think he is eating something, but not sure what I haven't read up on Norse in a while. Also you might not want to call it "mythology" since myths are supposed to be false and we have someone who worships them here. To him they are fact not myth. :teach: Also I dont know if anyone here would find this insulting (dirrected toward Deviston) and if it is insulting to you I am sorry, but this is a web comic I found that has a lot of it based of Norse storys and beliefs. Link to Web comic. (http://www.sgvy.com/) |
| Deviston03-28-05, 10:54 PM | I AM HIGHLY INSULTED !! OMFG !!! no, im kidding, i dont find anything insulting really, I am one of the MOST laid back fellows you will ever meet. you can call my beliefs myth, i dont care, my only point would be, what makes yours (( christianity )) nonmythical, the fact that people still worship it? (( hello, im not the only one out there )) or is it that there are holy scriptures (( we got them too )) hmm . . . i dont guess you really can say that there is anything (( but then im saying that before you have a chance to pout forth argument, so, uh, nill that , oops, my bad :) )) well, anyway, the point is, do your best NOT to be politically correct. its when the world is afraid to say anything for fear of offending another that we know we have lost our sense-o-humor, and that would be worse than . . . well, anything! so, poke fun, that's all right, but when i start pokin back dont get all up tight (( credit given to Kid Rock the Almighty Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp ))i just request you keep an open mind ond not shoot me down w/o hearing my side of the tale, (( i hate in-the-box thinkers, i do )) and about my membership number? i still want it (( oh, and that holy number thing, that was a joke, i stil want that number though )) |
| Cazic03-28-05, 11:27 PM | It is fear of insulting people and the fact that I like being criptic that I keep stament like that vage at best. On something being Myth or real that is entierly dependent on perspective. To ME Norse beliefs are Myth. To DEVISTON they are fact. To my family Christian is FACT and to a Buddest Buddism is FACT and so one and so forth. Unfortunetly no one can TRUELY prove taht anything is more right than ANYTHING else. If it was a easy as saying I right and your wrong than we wouldn't be having this conversation since ALL of us would be the same religion. Ok I am going to stop myself there 'cause I am starting to rant and NONE of us want me to rant. Trust me. *shivers up spine at thought of last big rant* :gah: |
| Sssargoth03-28-05, 11:29 PM | A previously little known fact about me is that I don't follow any religion/mythology. They are all the same in function to me, so I study them when I'm bored. That doesn't make me an athiest, btw, because I believe in reincarnation. :D |
| Cazic03-28-05, 11:38 PM | A previously little known fact about me is that I don't follow any religion/mythology. They are all the same in function to me, so I study them when I'm bored. That doesn't make me an athiest, btw, because I believe in reincarnation. :D So basically you just poll stuff from other religions taking what works for you? |
| Deviston03-28-05, 11:46 PM | its a good idea, but hey, like i said, whatever floats your boat, an btw, i just finished reading those comix . . . omg, thas funny stuff (( HENTAI 4TW !! )) ahem . . . aside from being only ever so slightly correct (( and only in certain places )) i think the young artist did a fare amount of research! i was surprised for very few people know their facts and she knew a good few!! (( although alot were bunk )) its great art too!! and . . . she kicks high . . . real high . . . and bends over alot . . . :D |
| Sssargoth03-28-05, 11:47 PM | Nah, I stopped believing in any type of religion several years ago. I just have my own reasons for believing in reincarnation that I'm not going to mention to anyone, most likely ever. |
| Cazic03-29-05, 08:40 AM | Nah, I stopped believing in any type of religion several years ago. I just have my own reasons for believing in reincarnation that I'm not going to mention to anyone, most likely ever. never Huh? Well then.... We have hays of making you talk! :smirk: |

MWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!! |
| WorldConquerer03-30-05, 11:01 PM | I'll join, since I was a member of the old foundation. |

| Myrdinn04-01-05, 01:15 PM | I'm sorry if you thought i was implying that the norse gods were not real, i wasn't. Hey i beliveve in the aforementioned ledgend a bout Lugh (Sun God) killing Balor (the formorian demon) in my area. Do you think thats were WOTC got the names for those monsters from? One last thing i'm switching from the greyhawk campaign setting. Do you think i should go for: a) Forgotten realms, or b) Dragonlance I do like dragons but i can't make up my mind |
| Deviston04-01-05, 01:18 PM | DRAGONLANCE !!!! DLDLDLDLDLDLDL !!!!! FR is nice, but how can you pass up a chance to bring in Kender!?!? I couldn't!!!! KENDER ARE THE FRIKIN BESTEST !!!! "Oh, where did that come from? Your lucky I came by to show you how easy it was to take, some dishonest person might have stolen it!" |

"Oh, where did that come from? Your lucky I came by to show you how easy it was to take, some dishonest person might have stolen it!" "Oh is that your's? I found it on the ground. You should take better care of your things." :D I love Kender! They are the best race you can EVER meet. What are the Racial Stats for Kender? I want to use one in a game, but dont have the stats. :weep: I REALLY want to use one in here at the IFW2. It will be awsome. I have read a lot of the DL books and I will have to say the Gully Dwarves and Kender are my favorite races in there. ALL HAIL THE POWER OF KENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D |
| Sssargoth04-01-05, 10:02 PM | You can find the Kender racial traits here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20030713a). Theres also Draconians on that page. :P |

I found it in your pocket, you must have forgot it was there :D )) O! Thank you I was looking for that. *puts the name (and a few other items) into a pouch* Join yee say? Of course! Oh I have this nice item you might want to see. *goes through a few pouches and while searching he pulls out several money pouches that look very similar to those of the people in the Guild Hall, a dead rat, and what looks like a Wizard's spell book* Ah here it is! The Kender Spoon of Turning! *He (or maybe is a she or a it :shifty: , but you dont know since you never saw him/her/it ;) ) then displays a Silver spoon with some strawberry stains on it* It gives the wielder the power to turn or comand Undead. See there is some blood stains on it. :D We should make a Kender foundation if we can get enough people. |
| Sssargoth04-01-05, 11:19 PM | there was a kender foundation once. it didnt last long, tho, which is understandable, since kender have short attention spans, alot like a hyperactive 5 year old with ADD. |
| Myrdinn04-02-05, 02:06 PM | Thanks for the advice guys! :) It's unanomous then Although i won't be able to beat up a Red Wizard :weep: its more than made up for with all the: :dragon: :dragon: :dragon: and lets not forget the :dragon: Thanks! |
| jagggar04-05-05, 12:45 PM | :bump: Anyway, there was talk about dragons gaining power with age and how we're going to deal with that going on in Meta. You guys said you'd bring it over here, but you didn't, you just stopped the discussion. Dragon 320 presents full 20 level dragon classes and says that dragons using these classes begin as weaker than normal dragons but become more powerful than them faster. I'd suggest that's what we do. |
| ChaosEvoker04-05-05, 03:45 PM | *apeares wreathed in green fire wearing a pin that says "GMF: The Game Master's Foundation" and looks around with eyes made solely of bright green light nods and shakes his head then disappears in a flash of green fire The Green Dragon has paid a visit to his bretheren* The Game Master's Foundation serving you from enworld.org (http://www.enworld.org) |

| Sssargoth04-05-05, 07:18 PM | Does it carry out to Ancient age for each dragon type? No, only ECL 20, like in the Draconomicon, and only metalic dragons. |
| Dyne04-05-05, 07:35 PM | No, only ECL 20, like in the Draconomicon, and only metalic dragons. Well, that won't do then. Sorry guys, I've been doing a lot of stuff. Not sure when I'll be able to get back to working on extending the Dragon ECL's. But, if you guys start a discussion and start working things out on your own, I'll post here and there to help out. I just can't tackle the whole thing on my own right now. |

| Cazic04-05-05, 11:22 PM | I seem to have missed this. What exactly are Draconians? Are they a race? A template? If a race, what is their favored class? If a template, do they have a Level Adjustment? Things seem to be missing from that excerpt.... They are a race. They were created from the eggs of Metallic dragons, but are able to have kids on their own. I dont know what the FC is. Mabye Fighter (because of how they were in the books) or Sorc. (because of dragon heritage and a little of in the books). If you can't find the info I have a few things you could use for info. Only one breed can fly. When you kill one their corpses are still a danger. Each breed has their own death ability. Almost always evil. Lawful I think. There is other stuff to. |
| Tenzhi04-06-05, 01:43 AM | Here are a couple of pics the Art Factory have turned out for my Zhi Lung (a dragon I posted in the last thread, IIRC): Dominaria's Pizza's version Psycho Shaolin's version |
| Sssargoth04-06-05, 02:27 AM | I always envisioned the elf-bane to look similar to the first one, but with more color. |
| Tenzhi04-06-05, 02:47 AM | The only time he would have more colour is when he's drenched in elvish blood. ;) Black and silver-white are indeed the colours of the Elf-Bane. |
| Sssargoth04-06-05, 02:56 AM | The only time he would have more colour is when he's drenched in elvish blood. ;) WOO!! Elvish blood bath!!!!!! uh...er...did I say that out loud?... Black and silver-white are indeed the colours of the Elf-Bane. I always thought the elf-bane had a tarnished gold sheen, before the elf blood. ;) |
| Tenzhi04-06-05, 03:09 AM | I always thought the elf-bane had a tarnished gold sheen, before the elf blood. ;) Understandable. Before third edition came along and he got his own dragon file, I often referred to the 2nd Ed Gold Dragon pic in the Monstrous Manual as the image of the Elf-Bane. And I'll thank you to keep your psionic abilities out of my besotted mind henceforth. ;) |
| Sssargoth04-06-05, 03:20 AM | Understandable. Before third edition came along and he got his own dragon file, I often referred to the 2nd Ed Gold Dragon pic in the Monstrous Manual as the image of the Elf-Bane. Actually, it came from my study of asian mythology. The same goes for the physical aspect, before I found out the elf-bane was indeed a lung dragon from said mythology. :D And I'll thank you to keep your psionic abilities out of my besotted mind henceforth. ;) Your will save is adiquately high enough to resist my mental poking and prodding anyway. ;) In reality, I'm quite confused by this comment, despite knowing that it was made in jest. |

But finally, after wracking my brain for weeks I have attained wisdon of the ages in remmebering the name that yours reminds me of, a nifty set of books that are good cept for the 6th grade reading level, would be great if written for higher levels, but not everything can be a +5 book of interesting mental captivity . . . the name is . . . aximilli-esgarouth-isthil so relieiving to finally get that into the open, I can finally sleep, oh, and is this foundations ACTULLY accepting members? if so, I want to be #333 as I mentioned in a past post. |

Besides not spelling my name right, your 2 "s"es short at the begining, your theory as to the inspiration is also incorrect. Sorry if I give you more sleepless nights again, but it originated in a short series of books that takes place in the future about the decendants of prisoners on a desert-like planet that happens to have dragons, but not DnD sized. It was also my first half-dragon psionic charicter in 3e. |
| Deviston04-06-05, 02:33 PM | but it originated in a short series of books that takes place in the future about the decendants of prisoners on a desert-like planet that happens to have dragons, but not DnD sized. :: looks at you with a sly smile :: Three actually. . . and the planet was called a KK planet. . . Oh yes my friend, I know about it. . . I know . . . :: as I read this part, I sat back in shock, the realization of my favorite books came up and I laughed . . . thank you :: Jakkin . . . and Akki . . . and Heartsblood !!!! :: the image you recieve is of color, of rainbows, of a young man sitting in a green feild holding a rainbow colored object that you know as a "book", one of this world's most powerful macig items. "Books" can send one to a very far away place, of different time and setting, of different lives and stories, and of different realities that most would give theirs for. These gifts are of our own creation, as I type this, I see the corolation between the magic of books, and the magic of "Books" of the stories titled Myst. These books (( in the books Myst )) actually take people to different worlds, amazing how ours do the same, but in a different medium. I say all of this to tell you all, this game, is a part of a story. A D&D game is played as a story, a second life. Something more than what is now, something you want. That is why you play, that is why you read, and that is why things in the world can change, and will. I challenge all who read this, to change your reality, to change how your laws of physics work. They say when you drop and apple, it will fall. It only does because you belive this to be true. Make it float. I challenge you all to do what I have seen been done, and make it float. Thank you for sparking this in me Sargoth. I do thank you. May the dragons of the KK planets finally find rest. And the dragons of our world finally find reason to exist :: |
| Sssargoth04-06-05, 02:46 PM | yeah, I stole the name of one of the dragons in those books. He always refered to himself in the third person and had the steriotypical draconic attitude. |
| Tenzhi04-07-05, 01:30 AM | Sounds similar to Elvenbane (one of my favourite books). |
| Deviston04-07-05, 09:17 AM | NOT elvenbane . .. they are called Dragon's Blood, Heartsblood, and A Sending of Dragons and are some of the best books ever. Check them out. their great !!!!!!!!!!! I mean, with ten exclamation points, how CAN they be bad? |
| thasis04-07-05, 10:00 AM | I've never read any of those books myself. Are they part of a campaign setting such as Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance. Forgive me if yah already mentioned that they're part of a setting cause I havn't been following the disscussion to much. Anyways, once I finish Dragons of a Lost Star then I'll check those books out. |
| Deviston04-07-05, 11:05 AM | nope, just a trilogy by Jane Yolen. just a set of books that are real good and add a type of psionic appeal to dragons (( in a VERY minor way, and is only my interpertation to help you understand it a little better )) Everyone who has ever liked dragons should give it a try, its real good! |
| Tenzhi04-08-05, 01:44 AM | I think I read those, too. The author sounds familiar and so do the titles, anyway. I've read so many books that some of them get mixed up in my head. In a few years I'll be remembering a book where a prophetic rabbit journeys with a wizard to a distant land to stop the eye of Muad'dib from causing the Woundwort star to rain thread down on the planet turning it into a barren wasteland that the survivors must trek across to form a city opposed to the walking man. Of course, with the help of the last druid and his many-legged chest they'll overcome the evil just in time to have the planet blown up by space aliens making a hyperspace bypass. |

| Falrion05-23-05, 10:25 AM | A wave of Heat precedes the Piroclastic Dragon, as he enters the Drangon Foundation HQ. "Here I am, Fellow Dragons. I, the Great Firestorm, have risen from the bowels of the earth to come at your calling..." PS: What the **** does IFGW stand for?? |
| Falrion05-23-05, 10:47 AM | I'M trying to create half-dragon, son of a piroclastic dragon and since there is no rules for it, i would like u to help me out... the guy is human (well, half human) sorcerer (or wizard, dunno yet)... The idea is he wants to avenge his fathers killers (aka: the party in the campaign i`m DMing)... They managed to kill my adored Firestorm last weekend after about 6 months of playing (8 hors a week) trying to get rid of him... He made the regret defeating a cult that revered him as a god, at the base of his volcano... |
| thasis05-24-05, 11:05 PM | "Hello Firemind" growls a deep dark voice. "I am Valkrian. Thasis's newest dragon". You see the voice comes from a giant black dragon. "I welcome you into my guild" Well the IFGW is a war between the diffrent foundations. A kind of RPing event thingy we plan on running. We're still working out the rules and stuff though. On the help with the half-dragon, what do you need help on? Anything specific? |

| turalisj06-22-05, 08:23 PM | "It figures for a black dragon to be claimed as property." | thasis06-22-05, 08:51 PM | Yah, it probally would. Unfournetly I don't have time for anything... actualy I have plenty. I jus lack the inniative. *rolls iniative roll* yep no iniatiave. Anywayz, I could probally do something about Chromatic and Coloured dragons within the guild. I'll see what my mind can cook up. |
| turalisj06-22-05, 09:28 PM | and i'll handle any planar dragons with golos (i've changed him over to a CG chaos dragon) who wants crstal dragons, and who wants metalic dragons. oh, and mybe tenzhi would like the lung dragons? :D we can turn this into one of the main focuses if the guild wars. |

My Green dragon character (NPC in the game) has been turned LE (A suprise for my players who still think he's allied with them) by an evil Wiz. So it will be fun to be openly evil. So how will we go about this? |
| thasis06-26-05, 05:26 PM | Mmm, this is dead... :bump: |
| jagggar09-14-05, 03:24 PM | :bump: She felt the claw upon her cheek, its touch tender and caring. She did not tremble, but was filled with warmth. The claw withrdew, but the warmth did not. "What name have they given you, my child?" the great wyrm asked, its voice resounding throught the cavernous temple. "Darby Wallace." "Hmm. . . Free Stranger. . . What is the will of the Father?" "To do that which must be done." "What is the will of the Mother?" "To love with compassion and mercy." "Free Stranger, What is the will of the Parent?" "To-" Her voice faltered. She had not only known but taken to heart these first two answers for years now. But this third had not been discussed. "I know they have not taught you this. This is a question that you must answer yourself. What is the will of the Parent, Free Stranger?" "To. . . to do what is best for my children." "And who are my children?" This too was a new question, but now Darby truely understood, not only the test, but also her life from now on. "Any that should ask of me, any that cannot ask but merely cry out, any who call upon me, these are my children." Silence hung thick in the air as she awaited the response. "Open your eyes, My Child. You are truely a Child of the Parent. Open your eyes, Darby Wallace Drago." The Children of the Dragon is intended to be a drag and drop cult. The core tenants remain the same, but the details can be tailored to fit most settings. The Children of the Dragon worship three dragons: The Parent (sometiems known as 'the Dragon') (LG), the Father (LN), and the Mother (NG). It is unclear (read: Up to GM) if the Father and Mother are seperate entities or merely aspects of the Parent. Children (singular: Child) cannot be evil, and those who are not LG, LN, or NG have not officially been initiated. The Children believe the Dragon to be their parent (again, metaphorically or literally (as in the Dragon is the creator god) is up to the DM). The Children likewise take great measures towards taking care of orphans including monstrous orphans. A great number of Children joined because they were raised in Children of the Dragon orphanages. Any Child who willfully takes the life of a child (be it human or kobold baby) can never atone. Those who join the Children are given one to three new names. The names given have meanings which reflect what the Children see in that person. Should the person become initiated they are given a surname during their initiation ritual. The ritual consists of being asked three or more questions. The first three are always "What is the will of the Father/Mother/Parent?" Depending on the answer to the Parent's will more questions may be asked. The initiate is then given his/her surname based upon which parent the initiate's answers most reflect. Drake means the initiate is a Child of the Father, Draca, a Child of the Mother, and Drago, a Child of the Parent. The Children believe that people can change, and are willing to house those who are hurting so long as they obey local laws and do not intend to go out and do harm. (While they are willing to house those who ding on a Detect Evil spell, if BBEG needs time to heal before roasting more orphanages, they will give him no quarter.) I plan on figuring out domains a bit later. Questions would be helpful because I'm not quite sure what to talk about. |
| Demonfey09-14-05, 05:48 PM | Nice idea, Jagggar. |
| jagggar09-14-05, 10:10 PM | Thanks. Got any questions about the Children I can rant on for a while? I actually wrote the flavor bit last semester before sociology (an 8 o'clock class). Darby's going to be my next character, as soon as I type her up. |
| Demonfey09-14-05, 10:59 PM | How would they feel about chromatic dragons? |
| jagggar09-19-05, 08:17 AM | Well, first I think I need to say what I think about Metallic dragons. As far as I know in western tradition, dragons are always evil. So I believe that when I first read that metallics were always good I was a bit upset somehow. And then on top of that, the most powerful dragon looking like it's kin to an illithid. . . If one is to break stereotype, why only do it for some? Should not the pretty, pretty reds also be allowed to be good? And so I prefer to shift dragon alignments to 'usually' instead of 'always'. That being said, While the Children preach against racism, positive racism towards those of dragon blood is not unknown among their number. (Positive racism meaning that the kobold would likely get healed before the human assuming they are in about the same condition, better beds, better parking spots.) This is usually noticed by outsiders because the Children don't realize it. Should a Child look over his shoulder a few more times when travelling in front of a chromatic than a metallic, his response would likely be that metallics are a bit more trustworthy, not that he doesn't trust the chromatic. Chromatic Children are not unknown, and if you happen to look at Darby's bow, Moni was both a chromatic and a friend. |

If one is to break stereotype, why only do it for some? Should not the pretty, pretty reds also be allowed to be good? And so I prefer to shift dragon alignments to 'usually' instead of 'always'. Then Eberron is for you, because none of the dragons have a "racial" alignment |
| jagggar09-19-05, 06:14 PM | Reaction Chart d% Reaction 01-40 Rant about making eastern dragons western in appearance and what problem is there with cross-cultural learning. 41-80 Rant about needing to have a specific type of dragon to be good dragons. 81-100 Both of the above rants in an incoherent form. *rolls* 89 I'll save my breath. Not sure about Ebberon. I haven't had the time to read much of it. I know I'd like some of the additional materials, but I'm not sure about what I've heard of Ebberon's religions. I think I'd have to be introduced to it by the right DM. |
| WorldConquerer09-19-05, 08:06 PM | I just noticed that "reloaded" was misspelled in the thread title. Sounds cool, Jagggar. Keep it up. |
| Tenzhi09-23-05, 12:50 AM | The metalics were based mostly on the Asiatic dragons, and the tenticles of the gold are supposed to represent a beard a mustasche, which was the symbol of great wisdom in most of asia. Indeed. They're not really tentacles at all, but are more akin to the whiskers of a catfish (or various other fish with similar whisker-like appendages). |

| Dyne12-17-05, 09:20 PM | Sssargoth, when you're ready to roleplay those Blue Dragons. My character's finished, but hasn't been approved yet. An object can be seen in the sky some distance away. It seems to be moving closer, and a ring of fire seems to surround it. When it gets closer, spectators can see what looks like a sea vessel flying through the air, except it has no sails, and has some other differences. This contraption must be what they refer to as an airship. When the ship finally reaches its destination, Alexander descends the rope ladder to the ground. He looks around, anxious to what he might discover. |
| turalisj12-18-05, 05:41 PM | Turalisj look at the airship, wondering why House Lyrandar would be visiting. Perhaps his shipment of drow was finaly arriving. It's about time you've arrived.. oh you're not with House Lyrandar, are you? Darn, I was hoping my shipment would finaly arrive. Leave it to the half-elves to be late with a shipment. |
| Dyne12-18-05, 05:59 PM | "I'm afraid you've mistaken me for someone else. I am searching for a nest of blue dragons. I have things to discuss with them." |
| turalisj12-18-05, 06:23 PM | Ah. Take a left at the grren dragon's forest, head past the black dragon's swamp, then turn right at the gold dragon's temple. Turalisj said. Btw Dynhe, you can't just land that anywhere. You have to have a docking tower set up, or some gliders to get down. Heck, even a feather token will work. |
| Dyne12-18-05, 06:43 PM | Ah. "Ah, thank you." Alexander goes off on a seemingly random course. I know. I didn't land it, it's still floating up there, I just dropped a rope ladder to the ground. Of course, Alexander also knows the Feather Fall spell. |
| Sssargoth12-18-05, 08:02 PM | A horn slowly appears from the ground in front of Alexander. Shortly after the horn, the blue head that its attached to appears, and you realize the air smells of ozone. "So, I hear you got a potential deal for me. Lets hear it." |
| Dyne12-18-05, 08:29 PM | Alexander bows to the blue dragon. "My name is Alexander Validus, representative of the Stormhand Federation, and devotee of Typhoeus. I heard that a group of blue dragons resided here, and I came to make a deal. "The Stormhand Federation would like to make an agreement. In exchange for acting as mounts for its finest soldiers, the blue dragons in question would be rewarded for their services. I actually believe the dragons are getting the better end of the deal, though." |
| Sssargoth12-18-05, 08:37 PM | "I'm the only one within about a hundred miles of here, so your info is flawed. On the whole mount thing, it all depends on how much your willing to pay me, and I aint cheap." |
| Dyne12-18-05, 08:57 PM | "Hmm. How much would you charge? And how many years of age do you have?" |
| Sssargoth12-18-05, 09:15 PM | "Lets see... For one month of my serveces... thirty thousand gold worth of assorted gems, or twelve thousand gold worth of saphires, cuz their my favorite. I hear that insane little red dragon sells gems of all kinds if your short on any. About my age..." He glares a you. "I'm twenty-nine if that means anything to you." |

He continues to laugh, until he gathers himself together. "What is a juvenile like yourself doing out here on your own? And do you even have that much gold in your own hoard?" I don't know if Draconomicon has some other calculations for generating a dragon's hoard, but I calculated the average Juvenile Blue Dragon would have a hoard worth 10,200 gp (treasure for CR 7 x3). "You have spirit, though. And blue dragons are surely might favorite kind. You are surely worth every bit of sapphire?" Nice try on trying to turn this into a profit for your character, by-the-way. |

I don't know if Draconomicon has some other calculations for generating a dragon's hoard, but I calculated the average Juvenile Blue Dragon would have a hoard worth 10,200 gp (treasure for CR 7 x3). You can always try haggling him down. "You have spirit, though. And blue dragons are surely might favorite kind. You are surely worth every bit of sapphire?" "Course I am. What kind of a silly question is that? Nice try on trying to turn this into a profit for your character, by-the-way. Cant blame me for trying now can you? Becides I did it ICily, and Im the only gem merchant in Tyranor. |
| Dyne12-18-05, 11:03 PM | "Course I am. What kind of a silly question is that? "I'd like to see for myself. Gimme your best shot," he points to his cheek, grinning. He then takes up an unarmed stance, looking ready to wrestle. |
| turalisj12-18-05, 11:08 PM | Hey Sssargoth, what's the blue's name? |
| Sssargoth12-18-05, 11:31 PM | "I'd like to see for myself. Gimme your best shot," he points to his cheek, grinning. He then takes up an unarmed stance, looking ready to wrestle. "Okey dokey" and with that he quickly inhales and hits Alexander with a line of lightning that sends him into temporary convulsions. "Good enough for ya?" Just so you know, thats an 8d8 electric line. :D Hey, you asked for it. |
| turalisj12-18-05, 11:45 PM | Turalisj flapped down beside Alex, looking around. Hey, you find those blues yet? He said, then spotted the blue dragon. Oh, hi, you must be new. Name's Turalisj. Just so you know, there's agoing to be a big party in a few hours, something about the Prophecies. |

Hope you dont mind. I know. Just pick out a few feats and spells, shouldn't take too long. And can we assume we're about 10 feet apart? Alexander draws his sword. He then begins to shout and chant in a terrifyingly eery song of war. Using Inspire Awe. Make a Will Save (DC 28) or become frightened. |
| Dyne12-19-05, 11:33 PM | Sssargoth, we gonna finish this or what? |

Never did find what I was checking for tho... |
| Dyne12-20-05, 12:37 AM | I was actually expecting it to fly away, but that works too, I guess. Alexander sheathes his sword and begins heading back to the airship. "I figured it wouldn't work, but I didn't expect it to try to KILL me. It was supposed to claw me, or tail slap me, or something less lethal. But breathing lightning in my face?" He shakes his head. Grabbing hold of the rope ladder, he then turns to address Turalisj. "Do you know of any Bronze dragons that live near here, preferably Juveniles? I've always had better experiences with metallic dragons, but I gave it a try with the blue dragon, out of respect for Grindelwald." |
| Sssargoth12-20-05, 12:42 AM | The dragons head pokes back above the ground. "Hey! Where ya goin? Dont you want to play some more?" :weep: |
| Dyne12-20-05, 12:51 AM | The dragons head pokes back above the ground. "Hey! Where ya goin? Dont you want to play some more?" :weep: "Perhaps later. I would like to rest for a little while first." He tosses a bag near the dragon, and sapphires can be seen spilling out of it. "That's for starters, 1,000 gold pieces worth of your favorite gem. Match your scales rather nicely. We can discuss more specifics later, perhaps." Alexander ascends the rope ladder to the deck of the airship. He then finds his room and takes a nap on the cot for awhile. I've gotta get off, so we'll have to finish things later. By-the-way: Diplomacy Check: 33 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=317403) I forgot to add in the synergy bonuses for Bluff and Sense Motive, so that's why my modifier was higher than what's listed on my character sheet. I'll edit those in tomorrow. |
| turalisj12-20-05, 01:09 PM | I was actually expecting it to fly away, but that works too, I guess. Alexander sheathes his sword and begins heading back to the airship. I've always had better experiences with metallic dragons, but I gave it a try with the blue dragon, out of respect for Grindelwald." I'm sorry, but no honorable bronze dragon would want to associate with the Stormhand Federation. But if you want to try anyways, my cousin Plantagonox, or Plant for short, is taking up residence around the Fve Eye Reef. Carefull though he is a strong zealot for freedom and good, and will do more than this coward over here did if he found out who you worked for. Turalisj said, flying off, perhaps to his own home. This is the young adult Turalisj, just so you know. The IG one is a very young ranger, with elves as his favored enemy. |
| Dyne12-20-05, 06:25 PM | Alexander frowns. "Why is there so much mistrust of the Stormhand Federation? Perhaps Falur's corruption has had more far-reaching effects than I originally perceived. It would be a shame if Typhoeus's plan, which is great and magnificent beyond any mortal's, could be so easily foiled." Aboard the S.F.S. Manifest Destiny (the airship), Alexander is thinking to himself. The boundaries he has been encountering trouble him. But not so much as to make him give up, because pushing boundaries is one of his specialties. "I will visit this Plantagonox, after I have finished visiting this blue dragon (What is his name, anyway? I'll have to find out). It would be a true dream to be able to unite the dragons for one great cause. And it would indeed help our situation to have a zealous crusader of freedom and good on our side. We will need our virtues to make it through this coming storm." By-the-way, Bronze Dragons are Lawful Good, so "freedom" (which is usually connotated with Chaotic Good) might not be as applicable as "honorable." Alexander exits his cabin, and he makes his way across the deck toward the rope ladder. "Warm up the engines, gentlemen. I believe we will be leaving soon. I have a few things to finish up with this dragon first, though." He climbs down the ladder, at an even pace while not in a hurry. He hops to the ground and makes his way toward where the blue dragon was yesterday. |
| turalisj12-21-05, 12:18 AM | Unless you are going by my version of a bronze, which is a freedom loving, priate hating, drow chomping, dragon. Btw, maybe we should start getting the dragon foundation up and running for ingame. Oh, and Kothar can be added to one of our dragon warriors. He has a few draconic followers, and uses them as guards. |
| Dyne12-21-05, 12:19 AM | Unless you are going by my version of a bronze, which is a freedom loving, priate hating, drow chomping, dragon. I just go with how their described in the rulebooks, and according to my interpretations thereof. |
| Sssargoth12-21-05, 10:41 PM | Alexander exits his cabin, and he makes his way across the deck toward the rope ladder. "Warm up the engines, gentlemen. I believe we will be leaving soon. He hops to the ground and makes his way toward where the blue dragon was yesterday. The blue dragon comes up from the ground behind Alexander, and gives him a dragon-sized hug. "Hey mister human friend man! I'm glad your back!" |
| Dyne12-21-05, 11:03 PM | "I think you've pretty well proved your worth. You are truly a magnificent creature, and I would be honored to fight by your side. However, it may be difficult to convince my queen to pay such a high amount to have you on our side. Would you agree to, say, 5,000 gold pieces worth of sapphires each month as payment? In exchange, you would serve as a mount for our finest knights, and help us win major battles. "Also, I am curious. How do you feel about bronze dragons? I am in search of other dragons that would offer themselves as mounts, in exchange for payment." You said it was 500 gp/HD to hire a dragon, which would amount to 7,500 gp. But, because of his Helpful attitude, it's 5,000 gp in sapphires. |

| Dyne12-21-05, 11:31 PM | Alexander "screams"... but in a musical way. "AAAHHHHH!!!!!!! GET 'EM OFF ME! GET 'EM OFF ME!!!" Inspire Awe again. Will Save (DC 28) or he runs/flies away, screaming like a little girl. |

If ya need me, ya know where ta find me." and with that he lets go, jumps over Alexander, and disapears under the ground. The diplomacy check wasnt necissary. |
| Dyne12-22-05, 12:09 AM | Alexander walks over and snatches up the bag of sapphires which the dragon carelessly forgot to pick up. Whistling innocently, he then walks back to the airship, quickly ascends the ladder, and pulls it up after him. "Pilot, get us the hell out of here." And they zoom off into the distance. Well, at least I know how much it costs per year to hire a dragon. Now, I don't have to roleplay "making friends." That, and I can have Great Wyrms and such. :evillaugh |
| thasis12-22-05, 02:10 AM | I'm glad to see some sucess in my guild here. I don't have much to contribue at the momment though. |
| turalisj02-18-06, 04:54 PM | A brass dragon wyrmling flaps into the hall from the bottom entrace, a ring on his left claw. Brothers, I have someting for us to put into use. Come quick! Turalisj said, holding up the ring. What better way to bring this foundation back up, then with a brand new artifect? Rings of Draconic Might These rings color corrospond with one of the chromatic or mettalic dragons. Upon donning the ring, they gains the immunities and breath weapon of that dragon. When the comman word is spoken, they gains armor crafted by one of the ten ancient dragon sages. This armor is infused onto thier skin, imposing no armor check penalty or spell fail chance. Thier natural armor improved by +35 and they gain a pair of wings similiar to that of a full dragon disciple. Thier flight speed becomes 30ft (average). How do you like it? |
| Demonfey02-18-06, 05:07 PM | I believe :OMG! sums it up accurately enough. |
| turalisj02-18-06, 06:51 PM | It's an artifect, since it'd be too powerfull to be able to be made. But honestly, how do you like it? I figure this can be the main focus of the dragon foundation in round 3, to regain control of the rings before anyone else can. Prehaps each of the major districts can have a shrine dedicated to a dragon that matches their alignment (so the red dragon ring for your city DF) with the ring as the heirloom for the priest. |
| thasis02-18-06, 09:34 PM | Boom! I like it alot. Epic Major Artifact I'm guessing? |
| turalisj02-18-06, 09:40 PM | Yep. I figure we can use something like this if we can find it. |
| thasis02-18-06, 10:03 PM | Since I'm not using my original Thasi characters in the 3rd round I could create a Half-Metalic Dragon as my character for the Guild of Pure Good and for the Dragon Foundation. |
| turalisj02-18-06, 11:23 PM | Sounds good. Oh, and there's one ring for each true chormatic and metallic dragon. That would be 10 rings. That means taht a guild with all 10 rings would be nigh unstoppable. As we know the dragons shall become. |
| thasis02-19-06, 05:05 PM | Mmm... how do you think we would go about finding these rings. Traditional high adventure? Dungeoneering? |
| jagggar06-17-06, 10:39 PM | :dragon: So, just found it recently. Bronze-Gold (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=203446) Oh, and does anyone have an alternative name I could use for my half-dragon racial class? It's currently named Dragonborn, but with WotC's Dragonborn, confusion bad. . . |

| Sssargoth07-16-06, 09:48 PM | Ok. I had a really dumb but amusing idea that necro and jagggar added to. Make a dragon for every kind of tea in the world, which expanded to include every coffee in the world and the rare hot chocolate dragon, which expanded to include alcohol. Those ones have a progression like the OA dragons with the wyrmling-juvenile as the 'sparkling ______ juice dragon that all the alcohol-based dragons come from. So, who wants to make them? :D |

So, who wants to make them? :D I'll help, but don't expect me to do everything or some such. I would bet that most of these dragons are going to be pretty weak though still have enough power to be respected atleast a little. Kind of like the Fairie Dragons. There was a Dragon that loved ale statted in a Dragon or Dungeon mag resently, but dont remeber which. |
| Sssargoth07-18-06, 02:20 PM | There was a Dragon that loved ale statted in a Dragon or Dungeon mag resently, but dont remeber which. The Elysian Dragon in issue 344 of Dragon. The only dragon currently in existance that gets fat, and knows how to throw one heck of a party. :D |
| turalisj07-18-06, 02:48 PM | Hmm.... Maybe a line of herbs based dragons? A Ginseng dragon, Peppermint dragon, etc. |

Toward the end of young age, the scales turn a deeper cocoa, and the glossy texture is replaced by a smooth, dull finish. As the dragon grows older, the scales become large, thick, and as strong as metal. The wings are a marshmallow or whipped cream white toward the edges, becoming lighter with age. The pupils of a hot cocoa dragon darken as it ages; the oldest hot cocoa dragons have eyes that resemble orbs of molten fudge. Hot cocoa dragons are long and sinuous, and have a curious grace about them, as if they were made of water, or even air. Hot cocoa dragons love making friends, and doing nice things for others wherever they go. Their unususally cheerful nature has been known to to get a Behir to like dragons, even if just a little bit. Hot cocoa dragons always make the hot cocoa just the way you like it, and it is always just the right temprature for drinking, regardless of how long it sits around Combat Because hot cocoa dragons dislike combat, they seldom start a fight. They much prefer to make friends, and get others to be friends as well. When a hot cocoa dragon is forced to fight, after being diplomatic doesn't help, it always opts to obliterating them with its breath weapon, rather than drawing the battle out for too long. Breath Weapon (Su): A hot cocoa dragon has one type of breath weapon, a cone of steam. Create food and drink (Sp): A wyrmling or older hot cocoa dragon can use this ability as the spell of the same name, an infinite number of times per day, but is restricted in making hot cocoa, little marshmallows, and whipped cream. Aura of Cheer (Su): The aura of cheer is unique to the hot cocoa dragon. Whenever a creature, including other dragons, sees a hot cocoa dragon being nice, the creature may make a will save or become quite cheerful and willing to make friends. This takes the place of the normal Frightful Presence ability. Other Spell-Like Abilities: 3/daysuggestion (old or older); 1/dayfind the path (ancient or older), discern location (great wyrm). Skills: Appraise, Diplomacy, Craft (Hot cocoa brewing), and Jump are considered class skills for hot cocoa dragons. All hot cocoa dragons get a racial bonus to Diplomacy and Craft (Hot cocoa brewing) checks equal to one half their Hit Dice. Dragon traits |
