| Dyne06-02-07, 06:36 PM | In the Northern wastes of Tyrannor, a black-haired Elf woman makes her way across the frozen wilderness, followed by an entourage of undead. A white wolf of patched up fur and stitched-on parts walks by her side. Finding a suitable spot, she nods to one of the undead holding a lyre, and he begins to play it. Suddenly, the ice seems to rise up, forming walls and ceilings. Before long, standing before Anastrianna and her followers is a colossal fortress, entirely made of ice. Anastrianna makes her way inside (flanked by her undead guards), and finds her way to a frozen throne. Atop it is a clear crown of ice, which she places atop her head. Crowned Dark Lady of Glacialis, she takes her seat on the throne. This guild is dedicated to Cold and to Undeath. Anything relating to either of these two things is welcome here. | Dyne06-05-07, 05:08 PM | Practiced Turning Prerequisite: Knowledge (religion) 4 ranks, ability to turn or rebuke undead. Benefit: Your effective cleric level for turning or rebuking undead increases by 4. This benefit can't increase your effective cleric level to higher than your Hit Dice. However, even if you can't benefit from the full bonus immediately, if you later gain Hit Dice in levels of a class without the ability to turn or rebuke undead, you might be able to apply the rest of the bonus. This allows characters with the turn/rebuke undead ability to multiclass with less of a loss to their turn/rebuke undead progression. |

| turalisj06-05-07, 08:07 PM | An elf child entered the Fortress, followed by a guant black dragon. He bowed low to the 'Queen'. Ah, so you are the ice queen I have heard about. I would like to join your royal court. But, if you would, I do not live inside such....decoration. I prefer the comfort of a well made dragon's layer. If you perhaps knew the location of a white or silver dragon, I could both rid you of it and bring the dragon here for experimentation. Would you be willing to run a short little adventure? Nothing much, just the gaining of a home for my elf... |
| Dyne06-05-07, 08:24 PM | "Ice queen? I like the sound of that. Very well, you will be allowed to join the court of Glacialis, but you must first prove yourself. Slay an adult silver dragon and you will be one with us among the ice. However, I warn that we deal mercilessly with those who are disloyal." She gestures to a zombie at her side, mindless and completely under her will. "But rewards come to those who serve. Knowing this, are you ready to undertake your task?" To be clear, this guild is completely evil, no doubts about it. If your character is one of those "conflicted good guy" types, he probably won't feel comfortable here. Also, if you want to stay neutral, you'll probably be happier in another guild instead, since this one will be going to war (Sargatanas and I plan on conquering the world and filling it with eternal winter and undeath and such goodies). On the subject of an adventure, sounds interesting. I'll need some time to cook something up, but I'd be willing to give it a try. |
| turalisj06-05-07, 08:35 PM | Oh, he's evil all right. I'm just being cautious with this guy. Heck, his 'best friend' is a tartarien dragon, the planar equivilent of the red dragon. Conflicted? Not realy. He wants power, and the more the better. I'm just trying to be more subtle. I can have endure elements on 24/7, so the winter is no problem. I have finals this week, then I'm off of school for the summer, so time isn't an issue. It shall be done quickly. You will have a necklace of dragon teeth to go with your crown m'lady. The child said, bowing with a wicked grin. Just give me some time to hunt it down. |
| Dyne06-05-07, 09:02 PM | It shall be done quickly. Just give me some time to hunt it down. Thought this was a little ironic. "It will be done quickly" and "I need some time" are kinda contradictory. ;) Anastrianna smiles. "The dragon lives in the mountains near here. I will have a guide take you to its lair." She gestures toward a nearby undead, who steps forward. "Beware, though, for you will likely face opposition from a group of foolish knights trying to protect it. And if you come across a white dragon or two in your travels, please do not harm it; I am rather fond of them." So, what exactly is your character's tie to this guild? Wouldn't a fire dragon be a bit contrary to a guild of cold? |
| turalisj06-05-07, 09:15 PM | Actualy, it's more like a non epic force dragon/red dragon. And Mei'Lia wants power, and this place happens to be the best place to go right now. That, and I was in the last ice-based guild that popped up.... Then show me where this guide is. |
| Dyne06-05-07, 09:31 PM | Anastrianna blinks. "That is the guide," she says pointing at the undead. The guide looks at Mei'Lia with a confused expression. |
| turalisj06-05-07, 09:38 PM | A pair of draconic wings erupted from Mai'Lai's back with a few quick hand gestures. Then let's go. He rose into the air, and started to fly off towards the doors. |
| Dyne06-05-07, 09:59 PM | The undead guide shambles off outside, and the gates to the icy fortress close behind them. I'll make a thread for the adventure thing when I have something ready. |
| turalisj06-05-07, 10:02 PM | Mai'Lia mumbled something in Abyssal under his breath. Lazyass undead... |
| Dyne06-05-07, 10:09 PM | I'm not sure if you saw this, so: Actualy, it's more like a non epic force dragon/red dragon. And Mei'Lia wants power, and this place happens to be the best place to go right now. That, and I was in the last ice-based guild that popped up.... I'll add your username to the members list, but your character really should fit the theme of the guild in some way to be a part of it. Just doesn't really make sense for some random draconic Elf to join a guild of ice and undeath. Maybe if he had some cold or necromancy powers, but I don't know.... Whatever happened to the Dragon Foundation and the Pyro place? |
| turalisj06-05-07, 10:13 PM | They both died, one with the leaving of Tenzhi and Sssargoth, the other's location was taken over by the CotP. He can form a cloud of ice any number of times per day as a standard action, and he can spout a breath of cold any number of times he wants every round. I don't know if that counts.... I was planning on making him a snow elf, but the -2 charisma would hurt more than help. |
| Dyne06-05-07, 10:22 PM | He can form a cloud of ice any number of times per day as a standard action, and he can spout a breath of cold any number of times he wants every round. I don't know if that counts.... Eh, that kinda counts. It'd help if your cohort was some type of cold dragon. Also, you might want to invest in further cold protection than just an Endure Elements spell, since Glacialis can get below -50 degrees sometimes.... |
| turalisj06-05-07, 10:24 PM | Next level, I can become immune to any energy type for 24hrs, so it'sall cool. :D |
| Dyne06-07-07, 11:23 PM | I'm happy to say I've finally finished Anastrianna's stats (link in the first post). Now I just need to stat up her cohort, followers, and the stronghold. |

| thasis06-12-07, 01:20 AM | A resonating voice shimmers through the icey fortress, "My name is Thasis the Evil, you might know me as the founder of the Guild of Ultimate Evil. I wish to request membership for this guild, and a possible alliance with the Guild of Ultimate Evil. What do you say?" |
| Dyne06-12-07, 03:35 AM | Anastrianna glances around for the source of the voice, but sees none. She speaks up to the open room. "It is an honor to have you here, Lord Thasis. As the goals of our two organizations coincide, I believe we will do very well together. However, we may have to make battle preparations very quickly. It seems a warlock has stirred up the forces of Good, and war may be headed toward our doorstep. Though, I suppose it will make things a bit more interesting." She smiles, in a morbid way. |
| thasis06-13-07, 12:40 AM | "I thought the forces of good have all but been eliminated as a real threat, scattered and divided, with no real organization or plan. Change has been made I see... do they have actual organizations or attack plans of known nature?" |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 01:12 AM | A huge greatship flying the colours of Sargatanas comes into view on the horizon. Standing at the front of the ship with his foot up on the rail. Walking up beside him comes the undead king of bristol and the animated remains of Nhyris. Turning and heading toward the side of the ship, Sargatanas waits until they've docked or set out on a launch as appropriate. Arriving on land Sargatanas leads his group into the icey palace, behind him comes a group of pale orcs with tightly drawn skin, carrying three stretches with bodies on them. Setting down the bodies in the middle of the hall, Sargatanas waits for an altar to be brought in and set beside the corpse, which he then has placed upon the altar. The body, is that of the paladin Waken Skydame. Sargatanas palces a few gems in her eye sockets and mouth then holds his hands over the body. "Lets kick off my entry here with something fantastic. Here lies Waken Skydame... paladin of Pelor and friend of the planetouched. Here she lies... but not for long. I call upon the powers of the damned... rise again! SERVE ME!" A nearby corpse-like man begins playing a set of drums hanging from around his neck. William takes a mace from Sargatanas' belt and holds it forward over the body, a soft glow coming from the mace head. The body rises and turns toward Sargatanas, his holy symbol glowing fiercly around his neck with a dark light. It tries to resist at first, but stops and kneels, bowing to sargatanas. "Ah... such a fitting new servant. Don't you think?" |
| Master_of_Flames06-13-07, 01:35 AM | As much a show off as ever Sargantas. Li'ruak said, the light shimmering around him as he faded into visibility. Tell me, what are you planning to do in Horchound. I've only heard rumors so far, the usual whispers at the bars and brothels. I'm all for the killing of things, I had just clipped the wings of a pixie a few hours ago, but I'd like to know what's going on around here. |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 01:49 AM | "Lerack? Nah, that ain't right. Whoever you are, wantin ta know about the jungle eh? I'm takin back my throne of course. Some fool has decided that he can do the job of Lord of the Damned better than me. Took the throne during my... temporary inanimation. So I'm takin the damn thing back by force, reclaiming the armies of the dead that run wild in the area, and taking the plauge generator the bastard built. Stole my plans, made my generator, took my throne... hes got a lot to answer for now that I am.. back. A nice little assembly of bodies here..." Sargatanas waves towards Nhyris, William, and Waken. "Nhyris, the leader of the Guild of Ultimate Evil until he was killed and the throne as taken. William, King of Aervenia* and once called the Stormhand, and of course, my newest little gem, Waken Skydame. She was a paladin, and a friend of Crowley's weaker self from what I hear. Was a powerful warrior from what I'm gatherin from round here. She died. Now she'll be a powerful warrior in my armies. I've got some more tricks up my sleve too..." Sargatanas motions toward one of the corpses behind him, it is currently being ripped apart, the skin and flesh being removed from the skeleton and set aside. *Aervenia is the new name for Bristol, Dyne changed it since he didn't like the name Bristol or somethin. So eh... pretend it was always Aervenia. |
| Master_of_Flames06-13-07, 01:56 AM | You can go have the pixie too, as soon as the fools at the Halls get around to burying him. And the 'Paladin Supreme' will be joining him in the ranks of the dead. Li'ruak said, taking a bottle of wine and a goblet out of his bag. He poured some wine for himself, offering the bottle to Sargantas. Want some wine? |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 02:11 AM | "I might take ye up on the offer... but that stuff runs right through me." Sargatanas walks over to the pile of skin and takes a bit of some, making as weird a face as he can without a mouth and tossing it back on the pile. "I think this one worked with fertalizer a lot. Anyway... killed the pixie eh? Why? Rather screws up my plans Lerak. I had a nice chat with that pixie, mighta gotten through to him, shown him that I ain't some crazy killer that goes round murderin folks if they look at him wrong. But NO. Ya have ta go and show otherwise don't ya? Gotta run around and kill folks without purpose, what the hell is wrong with you?" |
| Master_of_Flames06-13-07, 02:18 AM | I got bored. And they know it wasn't you that murded him, because you don't appear to be able to turn invisible, fire blasts of eldritch energy from your palm, or fly. Don't worry, they'll find out it's me after thier paladin supreme is dead. Li'ruak said, pouring some more wine. I'm interested in thinning thier ranks, not random killings. |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 02:31 AM | "I'm not happy Lerkauk... not happy at all. When ye thin the ranks, ye make sure it ain't somethin I got a bit ridin on. Mighta been able to get them paladins outta the way... keep them from attackin us because of a sort of 'similar goal' what with the... peace I'm tryin ta bring. The unity.... I'm tryin ta bring. You killin folks beacuse you think us outnumberin em means that their ranks need ta be thinned? That don't sit well. I'm thinkin on killin ya and makin ya smarter when I bring ya back... but I'll pass for now... less ya say somethin stupid." |
| Master_of_Flames06-13-07, 02:35 AM | You can try... Li'ruak said, his form beginning to vanish. You can try. |
| Dyne06-13-07, 02:37 AM | Anastrianna taps her chin. "Actually, Sargatanas, perhaps that would be beneficial overall. There would be many benefits to gain from bringing Li'ruak the power of Undeath. The unliving are so much more efficient servants, and by deferring to our judgment, they are without the... quirks that so many mortals are flawed with." |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 02:39 AM | Sargatanas snaps his fingers and whispers a short prayer. A fiend on un-invisibilty radiates out from around Sargatanas, stopping Li'rauk's invisiblity short. "Ya know, what is it about when I say 'unless ya say something stupid' that theres always something stupid that follows? I mean really, is there somethin about those words that scream 'say something stupid' or am I imaginin it? Is there somethin wrong with your head?" |
| Master_of_Flames06-13-07, 02:43 AM | Li'ruak snapped his fingers, vanishing again.I'm afraid there would be more to lose for me. I wield a strength known as hellfire. Inorder to use it, part of my soul must go to the lords of hell. If I were to become undead, then my soul would be locked, and I would no longer be able to use such a power. As a lving being, the lorsd of hell get a small portion of my soul and I gain power that most could only dream of. As an undead being, I would lose that power, which is something I am not interested in. I take it that was purge invisibility? |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 03:01 AM | ((Yes, which is an aura that lasts for 1 minute per level, meaning you find your invisibility doesn't work.)) "Then don't say stupid things! I mean really, what is wrong with you? Gotta wave the danglin bits around to prove thatcha happen ta be a big man? Gotta make vocky comments and all sortsa rants? What the hell is wrong with this picture? We're supposed to be on the same side, but ya run around doin whatever ya feel like at the time, and ruinin my plans!" Sargatans raises a hand and speaks divine words of power, energy flowing around Li'rauk and causing intense pain. His minions raise weapons and step forward should Li'Rauk make any move to attack. DC 22 fort save, not a death thing |
| Master_of_Flames06-13-07, 03:08 AM | We may be on the 'same side', but our goals are diffrent. you see undeath as a thing that liberates a being from oppression. That is fine for you. I prefer to keep my life. What I say is what I want to say, no matter how much it scratches at your dead flesh. I do not rant. To the contrary, I keep myself as calm as possible. Li'ruak said, shaking off the spells effect. A red orb of flame formed in his palm, orbiting his hand. I had to endure the very pits of hell to gain this power. I'm not about to give it up for something as redundant of 'eternal' life. Fort Save: 27 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1099261) |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 03:16 AM | "Did I say I wanted you undead? No, I said I might make ya one if ya keep screwin with my plans. I ain't goin ta free nobody that don't want it, how it's always been. You are actin like a fool child, thats the problem here Leerk. Undeath in no way 'liberates one from opression' in fact it brings it on from crazed paladins and mad 'defenders of good' who think yer nothin but a monster. Thats what I'm tryin ta change. Now, we can continue this dance, you maybe get ta me before my warriors here rip you to shreds, then we both lose. Or, we can settle this like smart and intelligent folk and agree not ta do reckless things with killin folk who one of us might have interest in eh?" |
| Master_of_Flames06-13-07, 03:19 AM | Perhaps you should list those that you want still alive. I cannot read minds, so it would be hard for me to know which you want living and which you want dead. |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 03:23 AM | "Well that'd be why ya ask me before ya fly off ta kill someone fer no apparent reason. Ta thin their ranks, I know what ye said. But we got more boys than they do, so hows thinin their ranks gonna really matter? We already outnumber em, and random killins ain't gonna get us nothin when we can't get the bodies. Think before ye attack somethin." |
| Master_of_Flames06-13-07, 03:28 AM | I can always retrieve the body when the commotion after the killing dies down. And there are the small towns across Tyria that are open to a massacre. I also have something that a friend designed in Stygia that you might find interesting. Li'ruak said, taking a long cloth wrapped crystal spike from his bag. It is called a Fimbulwinter Spike. Place it into the ground, and the land around it turns into a frozen wasteland for weeks. I'm heading to bed now... night. |
| Dyne06-13-07, 03:34 AM | I'm afraid there would be more to lose for me. I wield a strength known as hellfire. Inorder to use it, part of my soul must go to the lords of hell. If I were to become undead, then my soul would be locked, and I would no longer be able to use such a power. [COLOR="Navy"]Anastrianna shakes her head. "What does undeath have to do with the soul? Are you implying that I stand here before you as merely an empty shell? I assure you I am not, and my transcendence has not diminished my powers in any way. On the contrary, I am stronger than before, stronger than I could have ever been." The Elf woman pauses. "But tell me, Li'ruak. Are you willing to follow the Frozen Throne? Will you cooperate with the plans set forth by Glacialis, rather than blaze your own path with no regard to the Ice Fortress?" You know, I'm considering putting an "Undead Only" restriction on in-game membership. Might cut down on all the characters coming in here that don't really have anything to do with the theme. Though, at least Li'ruak is a Snow Elf that carries around "icicles of wintry doom". |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 03:36 AM | "I'm not as interested in freezin everything just yet as the lady there is.. ya see, grounds harder to dig up and get ta the pretty skeletons in when its rock hard frozen. Ah right, demonstrations!" Sargatanas turns to the skeleton that is now flesh-less and drags it outside the large ice palace. He tosses it rather haphazardly on the ground and raises his staff. The bones twist and turn, growing larger and more powerful. They shift, twist and reform into a massive draconic skeleton, inanimate and resting on the snowy tundra. Tossing a few gems into it's massive eye sockets, Sargatanas speaks quietly and then chants, his pitch rising high until the beast raises it's skeletal head and lets out a haunting undead roar. "Ah... good boy fido." |
| thasis06-13-07, 09:59 AM | Thasis grins, "As beautifully destructive and blasphemeous as usual Sargantas. You havn't changed in the least. And to take back te Throne aye? Worthy cause, and it might benifit the Guild of Ultimate Evil as well. I'm assuming you are still on good standings with the Guild? If so, I'd be willing to send one of my necromancers over to assist with the seige. OOC: This time around I decided it's best not to create Thasis as an actual character for combat. I'm using him as more of a storyline character and his wills will be pushed through by his "minions". He's to far in strength to be represented in this game if of my original vision of him. I found stats far to limiting. So I plan to create a character or two to represent his will (and combat representive) in the IFWG. |
| Sargatanas06-13-07, 08:25 PM | "Yes, its quite a bit of fun isn't it? Taking back the throne is my goal of course, I'd like my damned throne back and I think it would be nice to slaughter the bastard that stole it. Good standing with the guild, so far, say hello to Nhyris why don't ya. Necromancers? Don't really need any more tryin ta take corpses that I'ma be usin myself." Sargatanas glances over his shoulder as Nhyris slighters up, his boney form clacking it's jaws and nodding to Thasis. "It has been some time Thasis... greetings." |
| Dyne06-14-07, 09:13 AM | Anastrianna looks up at the skeletal dragon, then back to the staff in Sargatanas' hands. "I see you have got yourself some new toys. I am not sure I like the name, but it is your pet." She shrugs, then turns to Thasis. "Even if the Lord of the Damned prefers to do things on his own, I personally would be delighted to meet your necromancer. There is so much work to be done, so many people to kill and then un-kill. More help in these matters would always be useful. However," she says turning back to Sargatanas once more, "I disagree that spreading winter across the land would make it difficult to retrieve bodies. The pathetic mortals are more susceptible to the cold than we are, and lowering the temperature would similarly lower their longevity. As the peasants die of disease, famine and exposure, their graveyards would swell with the newly deceased, making our job that much easier. And even supposing the ground were to harden with frost, the earth will yield up its secrets to me." Anastrianna glides around the room as she speaks, finally seating herself on the icy throne once more. "Speaking of which, I am reminded. There are creatures that could greatly aid us in retrieving the dead from their graves, or in entombing those who would defy us. We would be wise to make them our servants." Referring to the Entomber from Libris Mortis. Can raise any corpse to the top of its grave with ease (even if the ground if frozen hard), or it can smash enemies into the ground. I was thinking about going to find one and command it with Anastrianna. |
| thasis06-15-07, 12:07 AM | Thasis peers over to Nhyris, "It surely has. It's a... pleasure to see you again". He then turns to Anastrianna, "Mmm... winter is beneficial to the undead, but it not beneficial to all of the Guild of Ultimate Evil... unless I'm mistaken. I will have to discuss this with the other members of the Guild, but I think an arrangement can be made to help you with your goal. Maybe converting the lands of good into a winter wasteland, while keeping the Guilds lands intact? That might be an intresting alternative. Or we could take over the lands, and split the lands up between Guild lands and Winter lands?" |
| Dyne06-15-07, 12:18 AM | Anastrianna nods. "That would be an acceptable compromise. We could also aid your guildmates in adapting to the cold." |
| thasis06-15-07, 01:05 AM | "Mmmm... we will have to work something out. We need a formal meeting between the members of the Guild and the Fortress and some point and time to make a compromise/deal that will be in agreence to all particpants of both guilds" |
| Master_of_Flames06-15-07, 01:04 PM | I never meant that you are merely a soulless husk, Lady Anastrianna. I mean that the lords of hell can not touch your soul in your current form. Li'ruak said. He listened to what Thasis said. I can survive the cold well enough. And my warforged cannot be harmed by the weather, except for a bit of rusting. |
| thasis06-15-07, 05:49 PM | "I see, what about humans and other species not generally adapted to the cold, they can be used as useful minions and having them all turned into undead would reduce the production of them, which would be no good. So like I said before, non-frozen lands would be necessary" |
| Dyne06-15-07, 07:40 PM | I mean that the lords of hell can not touch your soul in your current form. OoC: I'm wondering if this is just RP, because as far as I know, there is no restriction on warlocks being undead. Also, I revised the in-game requirements of the guild: In order for your character to join, you must either be undead or a cold creature (or at the very least immune to cold). Anything other than that does not make sense to even be here. "Production, you say?" Anastrianna responds to Thasis. "The unliving never grow tired, they are never afflicted by disease. They are in every way more efficient than mere mortals. Just look at this fortress," she says gesturing to the frozen walls lined with bones. "Do you think the living are the ones that carved Glacialis out of the Frostfell?" |
| thasis06-15-07, 11:03 PM | "I mean Undead cannot reproduce, that tends to be a problem when numbers get low" |
| Orcy The Green Wonder06-15-07, 11:04 PM | Master of Flames is refering to the hellfire warlock class which requires you to 'burn con' to power your hellfire blasts. |
| Sargatanas06-16-07, 01:34 AM | "Who needs reproduction when ya can make your family from any ol corpse lyin around? I've got plenty of family and I ain't been able to reproduce for oh... hell, a lotta years! Ain't stopped me from 'reproducing' at all. All else fails, ya get a stock of livin folk for breeding if ya gotta. Ain't the plan, but it works don't it?" |
| Dyne06-16-07, 02:10 AM | Master of Flames is refering to the hellfire warlock class which requires you to 'burn con' to power your hellfire blasts. Hmm, that could be a problem. "Mortals only need to reproduce because of how quickly they die. Obviously, that is not a problem for us," she says looking around at the walking corpses around her, some appearing to be quite ancient. |
| thasis06-16-07, 01:04 PM | "As long as their is enemies their is more corpses I presume. After their is no enemies then their is no need to worry about minions falling. Mmm... I'm liking the sound of a non-undead genocide...". He suddenly pauses, "Ah yes, it seems as if my minion grows close. The necromancer I mentioned earlier has almost arrived from my home lands. He shall be here soon" |
| DragonStrife06-16-07, 05:43 PM | A horrid screeching is heard from the tallest spire, followed closely by the sound of frantic wing beats. Though the window a Very Young Silver Dragon is seen flying off into the distance. A sad, lonely song floats trough the frosty, dry air. The words aren't recognizable, but have an ancient sense about them. The weather picks up and become a full scale blizzard. The wind howls, screams, seemingly longingly, like an animal who has been trapped for many years in a torturous condition through the hallways. The sad melody laces the noise of the storm. I'm not sure how to induce my character yet, she's a very young silver dragon whose parents have be kill horrifically before her eyes. Because of this all the other dragons in the mountains have run her out so the only place she can rest is on the top of the tallest mountain in a snow cloud. She is very skilled at controlling storms, but, sometimes her power gets away from her and her feelings effect the weather. She is a bit timid to use magic and doesn't really trust anyone. Plus she blames herself for her parents death. She still believes that she could have done something to save them. |
| Dyne06-16-07, 06:12 PM | Hearing the dragon's lament, Anastrianna gets up from the frozen throne and walks out into the icy courtyard. "A silver dragon?" she thinks to herself. She calls out, "Why have you come to Glacialis? Are you friend or foe?" Wouldn't a Young Adult Silver Dragon be an ECL more than 20? I suppose that's fine if all you're gonna do is RP without stats. |
| DragonStrife06-16-07, 06:19 PM | A song in common comes from the storm... If foe I be dead by mornings light, But by friend I be not right Lost in head is this choice Thus is the reason this I voice. The song dies away and a loud THUMP is heard in the courtyard. Queen of Ice you have heard my plight, A gust of wind sends the doors flying open Tonight, I become one with your court, If you highness will let me A Large Very Young Silver Dragon with swirling snow behind her enters the main hall and bows. My name is Atllay of Neayshot Peak. says the dragon with a low rumble in her voice. I'm known to adjust class levels to my needs, so I can make her any level. Atllay is a bit of emotional wreck at the monument she hates all evil things because of what they did to her family, but despises all of the silver and white dragons that drove her out. If a trigger is tripped she'll loose complete control over her magic and staqrt a mailstorm where ever she is. |
| Master_of_Flames06-16-07, 07:04 PM | That is known not to work around here. This guild is strongly evil too, I doubt a silver dragon would be welcome. |
| DragonStrife06-16-07, 09:02 PM | That is known not to work around here. This guild is strongly evil too, I doubt a silver dragon would be welcome. Says you, Oh so bitter sweet. Perchance every dragon you meet. Has been bond with out a thought to an alignment strongly wrought. Silvers dragons warped by pain Don't also do things sane. (I'm not sure if that comment was IC or OOC so I respond sort of IC and OOC.) |
| Master_of_Flames06-16-07, 11:42 PM | GAH! What's with the poems! And that was ooc. Most people here use colored text to talk IC. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder06-16-07, 11:57 PM | OOC: MoF is correct, the games here are ECL 15 characters and 'adjusting HD and whatnot will not be accepted. However, if you wish to RP (but have no real stat-based effect on the game) you are welcome to do so. Just know that you cannot attack other players or whatnot unless they consent or whatnot. |
| DragonStrife06-17-07, 09:13 AM | A young adult silver dragon gets 19 hit die so can be assumed to be ECL 19, however a Juvenal Silver Dragon gets 16 hit die so can be assumed to be ECL 16! How about I change her to a Juvenal which is only one step lower in the age ranking and call it fair. MoF, I respond in rhyme just to fluster you. Just kidding, I thought that maybe you had forgot color text and I as Atllay and me as me so it sort of got mushed together. I'm a very good poet and I'm having that reflect through Atllay's speach, how else was she to amuse herself? |
| DragonStrife06-17-07, 09:29 AM | After looking around the court see notices groups of people pointing and whispering about her in oblivious disgusts. The old feeling of not belonging and being unable starts to rise in her. Do you doubt me or my power? If either you do look to the night sky I've scoured. If still doubt be in thee hearts I'll remember you in parts For if doubt, should sprout in black hearts Then I shall have to weed it out. Deadly silence meets the end of the poem. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder06-17-07, 11:21 AM | Actually that is not correct at all. HD does not equal ECL in the least. You need to factor in their level adjustment as well, since dragons are more powerful than your average creature. As a Young silver dragon is ECL 18 according to the MM (13 HD and +5 LA) Juvenile would be far out of range for these games. A very young silver however would be ECL 14 (10 HD and +4 LA) which would be playable. |
| DragonStrife06-17-07, 12:35 PM | I'm sorry Orcy but I will not make her a very young Silver Dragon. I understand your logic, but she needs to be older then that. A young Silver Dragon is ok with me and I hope it's ok with you given it's middle ground. She needs to be old enough to be able to hunt on her own or be able to steal a meal. A Very Young Silver Dragon wouldn't be old enough to do that. Also, she needed a long time to gather enough hate for other Dragons and humanoids so that she would side with Anastrianna and be evil. I hope this clears up my reasoning. |
| thasis06-17-07, 12:37 PM | Yah, just make it very young and add a level of some class, and then you will have ECL15 IFWG playable creature. Of course this board isn't all about the IFWG and it quite playable as a more role-playing figure then anything. That's what I'm doing with my character Thasis the Evil, I find his power is to great to represented in even D&D stats, so I am using him for RP and having his representitives do his combat movements for him. |

I hope this clears up my reasoning. That's not very good logic, since many dragons seek out their own lair by the time of Very Young age. I think you are vastly underestimating dragons, since even wyrmlings are pretty capable of taking care of themselves. If anything, it would make more sense to make your character younger, saying her parents were killed when she was a wyrmling and she's been harboring such hatred for a decade. But, reason as you might, characters have to be ECL 15, and a Very Young Silver Dragon is the max you could play. Unless you don't want to have stats at all, which would be fine. |

It makes more sense that what ever crazed thing I was doing.... |
| Dyne06-17-07, 03:08 PM | *Grumbles* Oh all right she now a Very young silver dragon I was kind of hoping this wouldn't happen but I accept it. It makes more sense that what ever crazed thing I was doing.... Sorry you're disappointed. Anastrianna rubs her chin, looking the silver dragon over. "Do not confuse our curiosity with doubt, for of course you are welcome here. However, I wonder, how does one of your kind come to be at such a dark place as this? Silver dragons usually make themselves our enemies." |
| Master_of_Flames06-17-07, 05:28 PM | If you have need, I can bring my own followers here within a few days. They are warforged, not man but not exactly a construct. They were created for the purpose of fighting wars. The one advantage they have over undead is that undead can be harmed by divine strength, my men cannot. Li'ruak said, he then turned to the silver dragon. Why would a silver dragon, a dragon whose very color is that of freedom and equality, want to join an organization that seeks the conquest of the land? |
| DragonStrife06-17-07, 05:39 PM | Atllay rises from her bow. Queen of Everlasting Ice, The race of silver dragons are not my friends, I am their enemy as much as you are after my parents' death only one tried to reach out to me and after a while even she fled. To them I am a bad luck charm. They fear what I can do so the push me away instead of honoring me. I am, because of them, but a humble servant seeking knowledge and recognition for my experiments. She shape shifts into the form of a Winter Wolf with a blinding white coat, and bows again. If your Highness will allow me I would like to request a position in your Court. Turns to Li'ruak, her solid black eyes examining him down to his very soul. Do you believe I am like the others? Obsessed with goodness and balance? Well, with that respect you are wrong. I was cursed to be born the color I am. I am anything but for goodness and balance. Her eyes turn steely and glint in the candle light with the suggestion of a warped, evil mind behind the cold, emotionless eyes. Looks to Anastrianna. I think I might be able to work her better as a very young silver dragon. So to all who told me to switch thanks! I'm not sure if I should have her be a member of the guard or a bard for Anastrianna. If anyone has some ideas please let me know! |
| Sargatanas06-17-07, 10:36 PM | Sargatanas laughs, entering the halls riding atop his massive dragon skeleton. Slipping off the back of the skeleton he steps forward and looks the dragon over. "So, ye want ta join us here do ya dragon? What can ya offer ta us? Ya might be a dragon, but what exactly do ya got to offer ta us that will be useful in our goals? Ya ain't a fan of other dragons, sure, that could be useful if we had us some dragon enemies. But are ya willin ta fight and kill other goodly things? Things that will stand against our goals? My dreams of unity throughout the world... To make a place where those such as myself, who are looked down on for what they are can live without worrying about the filthy beasts that think we should be destroyed for what we are! What do you have to contribute?" |
| thasis06-18-07, 12:01 AM | "Though he is a fanatic and biased in many things, he does have a point. If you do not have a use then why should we accept you into a position within this palace? We can all provide usefuleness to the Fortress, can you?" Just some friendly RPing ;) |
| Master_of_Flames06-18-07, 12:17 AM | You are barely out of your shell. you may be a dragon, but your abilities are weak. You can barely hold your own in a fight against a cleric or paladin. However.... I doubt they will be expecting a hatchling that is just out of it's shell to be on our side. |
| thasis06-18-07, 12:22 AM | OOC: How large is a Very Young Dragon, cause it could be possibly used as a mount. |
| Dyne06-18-07, 01:49 AM | Anastrianna rolls her eyes at Li'ruak. "It is unwise to insult a dragon. Really, your bickering tempts me to eat you myself." She turns from the warlock, bowing to Atllay. "As a creature of cold, you are most welcome here noble dragon. I never expected to align myself with a silver dragon, but there are always benefits to gaining a new ally. Though, I am curious of your abilities. What is your specialty?" Why do the evil guilds always seem to have some "let's gang up on the newbie" game? I know it's roleplaying, but it becomes rather tiresome after awhile. I'm not sure if I should have her be a member of the guard or a bard for Anastrianna. If anyone has some ideas please let me know! Well, it's up to you. There's not a whole lot you can do with just one class level, so you might use it to supplement the abilities you already possess as a dragon. I'd be tempted to dip into Fighter, but it's your choice. OOC: How large is a Very Young Dragon, cause it could be possibly used as a mount. Medium-size. |
| Sargatanas06-18-07, 02:19 AM | Wasn't gangin up on him/her or whatever. Was askikn a question. Same thing I tend ta do ta everyone that comes up ta me ain't it? Sargatanas has always asked people what they can do to aid his goals. |
| Dyne06-18-07, 02:45 AM | Wasn't gangin up on him/her or whatever. Was askikn a question. Same thing I tend ta do ta everyone that comes up ta me ain't it? Sargatanas has always asked people what they can do to aid his goals. Wasn't referring to you in particular. Just seems like this guild is becoming too much a duplicate of the GoUE, complete with the typical greeting to newcomers of "What do we need you for? You're not worthy." Then again, maybe I'm just being grumpy. Move along, move along. |
| DragonStrife06-18-07, 07:19 AM | The Winter wolf gleams Queen of Everlasting Ice I am a mage specializing in controlling ice. However, I have gone farther then most I have created living breathing things out of ice. Of course they melt when exposed to too much heat but unlike most zombies and other undead, you get the absolute control with out the mindlessness. They are my work of art. The wolf bows and turns toward the others, If you still doubt me let it be known that I have been able to raise a Mailstrom in absolute calm air since I was a Wyrmling. How many Silver Dragons can do that? |
| thasis06-18-07, 01:59 PM | Sargantas does have a point, we always tend to ask what they can benefit to the guild. Good guilds are freegiving to everyone, anyone can join no matter their strengths and weaknesses. Evil guilds are a bit more... selective. Unless you can benifit the guild what's the point of having you their. But in the same vein you are correct, we do not need another GoUE clone. The GoUE is their for a reason, and the Fortress is here for a reason also. Let's keep them that way. |
| DragonStrife06-18-07, 02:19 PM | *Snip.* Good guilds are freegiving to everyone, anyone can join no matter their strengths and weaknesses. Evil guilds are a bit more... selective.*Snip* In the same vein you are correct, we do not need another GoUE clone. *more snipping* I agree on both accounts. But would asking how could the person help in their wold conquest work? It isn't copying and it isn't too goody-two shoes... |
| Aramar the Black06-18-07, 07:14 PM | Many now are the mages of cold some are young and some are old but like the facets of a frozen gem, winter bows in all ways to them. Some wish this to always be, others to bring a unity. Under banner of frost, or banner of bone the coldest beings walk not alone. Dragons and zombies, elves and men; will you join the frozen ken? Listen, then, for the gelid call when the snowflakes start to fall. Sorry to interupt. I just couldn't help myself. :) |
| CaptainShar06-18-07, 07:27 PM | A mechanical lobster-looking vehicle lumbers up to the Ice Fortress. |
| Dyne06-18-07, 07:39 PM | The Winter wolf gleams Queen of Everlasting Ice I am a mage specializing in controlling ice. The wolf bows and turns toward the others, If you still doubt me let it be known that I have been able to raise a Mailstrom in absolute calm air since I was a Wyrmling. How many Silver Dragons can do that? Anastrianna nods at the polymorphed dragon. "Very impressive. I am certain you will be very useful to the guild. I am very intrigued at your mention of ice zombies, I would like to discuss them in further detail when we have the opportunity." One of Anastrianna's undead guards strolls across the courtyard. "Mistress, a strange vehicle is approaching the ice fortress." The Elf woman nods to her servant. "More visitors? This day is becoming more and more interesting. Lead the way." The guard leads her to the gatehouse, then points out the mechanical lobster below. Many now are the mages of cold some are young and some are old but like the facets of a frozen gem, winter bows in all ways to them. Some wish this to always be, others to bring a unity. I agree on both accounts. But would asking how could the person help in their wold conquest work? It isn't copying and it isn't too goody-two shoes... Sounds fine to me. |
| Aramar the Black06-18-07, 07:42 PM | I've thought about it. The guild's "dogma" is pretty different than what I'm used to doing, hence my hesitation. |
| CaptainShar06-18-07, 07:45 PM | The top pops off of the 'lobster.' Ana! Twinkle jumps out and gives her a big hug. A blast of warmer air escapes from the vehicle, quickly cooling to the ambient temperature. Twinkle smiles. I like it here. |
| Dyne06-18-07, 07:47 PM | I've thought about it. The guild's "dogma" is pretty different than what I'm used to doing, hence my hesitation. Yeah, I sorta combined two different ideas. Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. If you don't feel like joining in with a bunch of zombies and other nasty things, that's understandable. |
| Aramar the Black06-18-07, 07:53 PM | Aramar half-climbs out of the 'lobster'. He takes in the surroundings, and finally centers his gaze on Astriana. "I do hope we're not interupting." |
| Dyne06-18-07, 07:54 PM | Anastrianna gently pats Twinkle's little head. "I am glad it meets your approval," she says smiling. "What brings you this far north?" She looks curiously at the apparatus of Kwalish and the man climbing out of it. "Interrupting? No, not at all. It is rather refreshing to have visitors here. The cold air grows stale having to see the same frozen corpses all the time." |
| Aramar the Black06-18-07, 07:55 PM | It's not neccasarily the undead that do it; it's the pure and active (i.e. war-starting/world conquering) evil. |
| Aramar the Black06-18-07, 07:57 PM | "Good, then." Aramar hops out of the contraption. "We felt like taking a break. The halls get stuffy every now and then. It does feel very nice up here. And Twinkle missed you, I think." |
| CaptainShar06-18-07, 08:00 PM | Mhmm. Twinkle is busy burrowing into the snow that she didn't have to make. |
| Dyne06-18-07, 08:24 PM | Anastrianna nods to Aramar. "Ah, Conscientia. I have not had the chance to visit the magical academy, despite my intentions. I hope all is well there?" She smiles while watching Twinkle, who seems to really enjoy the frostfell's colder climate. "You know, Aramar, I have an associate who was interested in becoming an instructor at Conscientia. He seems to have a great interest in alchemy and building magical constructs." It's not neccasarily the undead that do it; it's the pure and active (i.e. war-starting/world conquering) evil. Ah, I see. That could be a problem. |
| CaptainShar06-18-07, 09:44 PM | Twinkle looks up and sees the fortress itself. Ooh...you must've made a lot a lot of ice to build that! She flies inside the fortress, holding her white kitten familiar. |
| Sargatanas06-18-07, 10:13 PM | Sargatanas looks at the child-like mephit, busy polishing the gem that covers one of the flames that floats in his eye socket. He puts the rag he was using away and puts his hands on his hips. "Hello there little thing. Didn't happen ta come so ya could join my horde of the living dead did ya?" |
| Aramar the Black06-18-07, 10:26 PM | Anastrianna nods to Aramar. He seems to have a great interest in alchemy and building magical constructs." Well, yes, but also slow. Might I meet this assosiate of yours? |
| Dyne06-18-07, 10:44 PM | Well, yes, but also slow. Might I meet this assosiate of yours? "Certainly, I will be sure to send him your way." She looks over her shoulder as Twinkle flies into the fortress. "Glacialis is made entirely out of blue ice," she explains, "a rare material that is as strong as steel and constantly cold to the touch. I think it adds a nice touch to the fortress, making it even colder than its frozen surroundings. Of course, I imagine most mortals would not find it very comfortable." |
| Sargatanas06-18-07, 11:00 PM | "Comfort is for the living and the confused. Since if ya ain't livin and ya want comfort, then ya got somethin wrong with ya in the head. Ah well, thats how 'life' is ain't it? Not really sure what the hell I'm talkin about, but hey, I got work ta do I'm thinkin. Still need ta be takin back my throne! Think we'll have ta get ready ta do that." |
| Aramar the Black06-19-07, 12:38 AM | "Of course, I imagine most mortals would not find it very comfortable." "When one thinks about it, one finds that mortals are not comfortable with a lot of things." |
| DragonStrife06-19-07, 12:23 PM | Atllay pokes her head around the corner and heads toward the "lobster". Turning she sees the newcomers in more clarity. New visitors I see, Friends I assume. I will be over joyed for you, To stay in this castle blue, Glacialis by name and glacier in type The Place of the Queen of Everlasting Ice. Aramar, I here that you are a poet like myself. I will be nice to share some rhythms with someone who understands the art in it. As long as my Queen will allow it. Nods her head respectfully to Twinkle and Aramar, then bows to Anastrianna. She leaves and climbs the frozen steps up to the tallest spire. |
| CaptainShar06-19-07, 06:40 PM | Twinkle looks at Sargatanas quizzically. How could something be living and dead at the same time? And maybe you don't know it, mister, but it looks like you're one of those humans that doesn't like the cold. Your skin's getting all funny. |
| Master_of_Flames06-20-07, 10:57 PM | Flames wrapped around Li'ruak's hands, causing the floor to melt a bit. One more dragon...one more poem and I'll fry you. At first, it was bearble. Now, it's starting to p*** me off. |
| Dyne06-21-07, 12:50 AM | Anastrianna's expression changes to annoyance. "Carry through, Li'ruak, and you will face the wrath of the rest of the guild. Really, if you cannot find some way to get along with the other members, you do not belong here. One more outburst like that and you will be banished, if not destroyed outright." |
| CaptainShar06-21-07, 04:34 PM | Twinkle touches the sparkly blue walls. Ooh! I haven't felt something cool in a long time. |
| CaptainShar06-27-07, 05:16 PM | Twinkle starts exploring the ice palace, flying through windows, into nooks and crannies, and even over the roof. |
| Aramar the Black07-13-07, 03:19 PM | The winds die down, the palace cools, moreso than before. Might this silence be the calm, that harkens what's in store? Undead can wait, most of all, for obstacles to pass. And winter knows that in the end, it will cover all the grass. The flower of most beauty, is the one that blooms so late. Perhaps when this winter strikes, it's force will be that great. |
| CaptainShar07-15-07, 10:25 PM | Do you think we should go back now, Aramar? Is school going to start soon? I like it up here, but nobody here wants to play either. |
| Aramar the Black07-16-07, 07:02 PM | We may as well. School should start soon, assuming we still have our staff. |
| CaptainShar07-16-07, 09:36 PM | Bye-bye, Ana! I'll come again soon, but first I'm going to school! Twinkle climbs into the lobster as before and begins her journey back to Conscientia. |
| Aramar the Black07-16-07, 10:32 PM | Aramar, watching the lobster leave, gives a small bow. "Farewell." He then holds a finger to his lips, smirks, and disappears. |
| DragonStrife08-13-07, 02:46 PM | Muttering to self Where did I put that scroll, I know it's around here somewhere. Bows to Anastranna as she searches every part of the fortress Pardon me my queen. Continues looking for her lost scroll |
