Hello! I know many have noticed the lack of GMs and so now with spring its time to liven up the place. By Friday evening CDT I will be posting up the GM application. Questions/comments/concerns?

About time. The forum might actually regain some semblance of life if it has some active GM's again.

Is there a recommended level of familiarity with the rules? I've been playing for just shy of 2 years now.

Also, is there a prospective time commitment? I will probably have time all through next year, but I have no idea about after graduation, with, you know, work and all that. So that's about one year's worth of commitment.

Orcy will once again be putting in his application or whatnot. Now that the primary reason he stepped down in the first place is gone he would like to try and get things back in gear around this place.

I second this.

So, is this thing gonna happen today, or what?

Yes, here are the questions I would like answered and I hope some preemptive answers to your questions as well as answers to the above:

1. There is no time commitment. There is only a commitment to the betterment of this forum.
2. There is no requirement for level of rule knowledge. The rules are the crunchy bits/foundation of the game. There are other aspects as well that do need attention and which you can contribute to the forum and the community.
3. There is an age requirement of 18 years old. There are several factors that do play into making this a requirement.

Being a GM is not always an easy task. You are going to have to make decisions that rule for the betterment of the community rather than personal beliefs of how it should be. Being a GM can be a fun, inspiring, lively time bettering something you gain personal enjoyment from partaking in. Being a GM boils down to you getting what you put into your commitment to the Boards Community. With that being said, please answer the questions below in an email to me at: shadow at wizo.wizards.com (replacing the word “at” with “@”).

1.Why do you want to be a GM?
2.How long have you been an active member of the Guild House? Did you take a break? How long have you been on the Wizards Boards Community?
3.What do you think you can contribute to the Guild House as a GM?
4.Have you had a conflict of interest with another member of the Guild House? What was the resolution that was made? (This does not disqualify you.)
5.Have you received a warning for violating the Code of Conduct? (This does not disqualify you.)
6.What changes do you think need to take place in the Guild House?

I would like to see at least one up to three GM's for the forum. This is up for vote though of what you all think would make the Guild House perfect.

Is there any estimate on when we'll know who the new GM's are?

The cutoff time for the GM applications is Monday June 18th, at 5pm. I expect to have an answer by that Thursday however I will be on vacation Friday, Saturday, and Sunday going primitive camping (which means no technology for 3 days. I might go into shock...). I can't ethically choose a GM and then leave them for their first 3 days alone.

You can say that again, being a GM was one of the hardest things i ever did, It unfotunatley clashed with my real life which lead to several months of not being able to get back here. Well, best of luck to whoever gets it!

It is the 25th! Yes, it is *still* the 25th!

Thank you everyone who submitted an application. It was really nice to see new faces and a sincere dedication to revitilizing this forum. I actually may be able to get the GMs in contact with the people in charge to work out "advertising".

I know of two but I would like to confer with the two before I choose #3. Without further adue, the two that I am picking for GM's thus far for the forum are:

Orcy The Green Wonder
and
Aramar the Black

Woohoo to the new GM's!

GM's: First duty will be in your inbox tomorrow and that will be a handbook I would like to go over with you two as well as discussing the third GM. I would also like to meet with you in a meeting as a group or individually to go over new powers, etc...

Sorry, you were exactly one minute late according to the time stamp... Orcy will forgive you however. He is also looking forward to see what has changed and what has stayed the same since his last stint as a GM.

Orcy as well would like to Congratulate Aramar on his GMship. He would pat himself on the back but he is unable to reach...
Aramar the Black

Well, I thank you all for the kudos.
I'd like to congratulate Orcy, and I'm very glad that I'll be working with someone of his expertise and experience.

*pats Orcy on his back for him*

So, how long after the third is announced should we give you guys before flooding you with questions?:P

Can we have some order to the IFWG now? Oh, and who should I send my event-idea to?

Oh, and who should I send my event-idea to?

Probably both of them.

And in conclusion the last GM that is being selected from the list of people who sent in applications is CaptainShar. They should all have their powers soon. :).
