| king_of_evil00701-04-05, 09:00 PM | Erm. . . we can only vote for one option. Is that how it's supposed to be (finding the communities priority)? |
| Gurney Halleck01-04-05, 09:15 PM | I myself cast my vote for having a social heirarchy; having promotions and climbing the social ladder is part of a Guild's life, right? Besides, new members should be treated as sort of underlings, and learn the ways of the Guild. Its at least interesting to me. There are many other additions i would like as well, which are as follows; 1. I would like an experience point system of some sort 2. I'd like a custom avatar; it adds personality and color to your character 3. I feel as though we should have at least 2 characters, but there should be limits set upon each (EX: they cannot both be in the same guild) Basically what i am saying is that I want more of the same. The Original Guild wars were fantastic, and we can take them to a new and outstanding level. Thank you for your time. |
| thasis01-04-05, 09:23 PM | I'll vote if you can choose more then one option. If not well then I'll probally go for "Lack of Limited PC's" vote. |
| king_of_evil00701-04-05, 09:29 PM | Yes, I want to explore NON Epic Level Handbook for post 20 play. Yes, I want a custom avatar reward. Yes to a social hierarchy (although isn't that already built into the guilds, like threadkeeper, member, whatever? elaborate once you come back on please) Yes, I want one PC only. Yes, I want to become a deity eventually. Well, I'm not actually "playing", so I don't want to become a deity. . . but I would like to see players do it :D |
| Xen15501-04-05, 09:31 PM | I believe that level progression should continue as the Epic Handbook says. But I like the idea of PC gods who are able effect the game and other gods. Not DMs but gods to be roleplayed. (I voted for deification) And although I personally am not intrested ( my avatar rocks! ) I think that a custom avatar reward would be nice. |
| Jharviss01-04-05, 10:35 PM | My Vote: I want a "social-hierarchy" where I am rewarded with Promotion (In-Game) Explanation: I do want this to be a roleplaying based game, as D&D is designed to be. It’s roleplaying and in a world with heavy combat. That’s its basis. Sure, its become more of a roleplaying game, but I am sure that there are a large amount of people here who would enjoy the roleplaying aspect of this game more than the combat aspect. Therefore, I’d like to be able to gain power and prestige away from experience and items and more toward gaining political power. That’s what I’m all about, political power. A couple manipulations and I can become a god at 15th level, no problem. Other Comments: I feel fine using the epic level handbook rules. They don’t bother me at all. I want experience point awards... how else shall we gain levels? I don’t care how many PCs people have as long as it is not problematic or confusing, which if people can put up in bold ‘I HAVE SWITCHED TO BOBIUS SMITHIUS’ so that its easy to tell what character they are using, I have no problem. I, however, plan on using one, MAYBE two if I find a lot of extra time. Becoming a deity would be fun, I’d admit, but the rules for playing a deity are about ten times as bad as playing epic level. A little usage here and there, and you can rule the game, killing and destroying whatever you want. Now, maybe quasi-deities and demigods, max, but I’m rather opposed to multiple deities as players. If people demonstrate they can truly handle it, I’m for it, but it should be EXTREMELY hard. Right, that’s my two copper, even if you didn’t want it, and have a nice day. |
| Lady Rolindin01-04-05, 11:15 PM | I have no proublem with epic levels as long as it goes with the class, or the player changes their charater at a level and takes on the new class. I know that a red knight war wizard is consider a epic in some ways, buy having the following abolities. palatin levels purple knight bonus red knight bonus war wizards bonus(all this to become a war tataction) they all stack and are part of the class. as long as it,s part of the clals or like i said if they start from level one on a new class and they get the epic bonus as part of it. part of the class for epic abilities. |
| redhase01-04-05, 11:24 PM | the epic issue, if its part of the class and I like having 2 or 3 charaters that way 3 black death kinghts can rip apart one of those good knight's and then sacarfaice thier hart to thier god. |
| Jharviss01-05-05, 12:00 AM | Well, after that last comment I understand why you are a member of the guilds you are in. |
| Xen15501-05-05, 12:26 AM | Right.... I see why you say that a god pc is a serious threat to Game Balance. But it becomes much less so if their are other gods to check said pc. And I assumed social heirarchy was a given so I did not mention it. |
| Tenzhi01-05-05, 12:54 AM | Aside from what I voted for, I would also like to look at other options for Epic. It's my opinion that the rules as written break limitations they shouldn't and as such end up breaking the system and make it inconsistent. Of course, part of the problem stems from the pre-existing issue of the existence of unlimited ability bonuses in a limited variable system. Fixing it all requires a great deal more house ruling than I think can be done around here, so I guess in the end I realize the task is an unlikely possibility which is why I voted for what I did instead. And I personally like and use Gestalts, but I don't see a feasible way to include them here without troublesome issues. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart01-05-05, 11:17 PM | Just my humble opinions: Would you like to explore options other than Eplic Level Handbook for lvl 20+ play No. I hardly trust the ELH, now you want me to trust other stuff? Most Epic stuff is published by people who want to play the ideal character who cant be killed and gets all the glory for killing insanly powerfull creatures. Doesn't fit with my taste of romance. I want gestalting looked at more closely I don't like the concept of gestalt characters at all. You can do the same thing with multi-classing and roleplaying. Not that the whole concept was bad buts its unbalanced. I want Experience Point Rewards Definitly. We need something to fight for and this is a logical solution. I want a Custom Avatar Reward Don't make fase promises. You sure you can do that? I want a "social-hierarchy" where I am rewarded with Promotion (In-Game) I likewise think this will be another attraction to playing serious. However I would want to have a detailed look into this as I can see many problems spawning from this. I have fought against Hierarchy governments ooc but ig, it can be a good idea. I want one PC only I want two PCs only I want three PCs only I don't want the number of PCs I can have limited One PC. Less confusion, easy to understand the personality of everyone, easier to remember whos aligned with who and what not. I want to be able to become a Deity eventually No, no and no. Bad idea. Too many people will want to become gods and thats a bad idea to have too many. In fact, I question even having any. Just my two silver, -Frosty |
| grimclaw01-08-05, 03:14 AM | I dont think rewards(at least all of them)should be to bound to guild membership. Personally my character is not going to be a member of any guild but an independent loosely allied with a couple of guilds and hostile to a few more. No more than three characters, and there must be a reason for multiple characters.I.E,opposing guilds racial requirements etc. Custom avatars would be cool How about unique magic items.signature pieces no one else has.that would be a great award. |
| jagggar01-08-05, 12:29 PM | Would you like to explore options other than Eplic Level Handbook for lvl 20+ playI currently have no opinion on epic options. My only opinion is that we do not start epic. I have no experience with epic, and I don't think it's any way to start a game. I want gestalting looked at more closelyIf you refer to the gestalt presented in UA, I do not believe there is any easy way to even it out with normal D&D. If you refer to what you were speaking of in meta-thread, please clarify since I didn't understand there. I want Experience Point RewardsVery much so. XP is tied to item creation. I don't want the sudden level up that happened previously. I would very much like clear "ad hoc rules" defined. XP gained from role-playing is supposed to be ad hoc, but I would like to see something along the lines of "If you roleplay like this, you'll get more reward faster.... If you introduce a good plot, you get about this much XP...." I would like that to be clear and SEEN. I would like for each character to be rewarded individually, not on a player basis, very required if we're allowed to have multiple characters. I want a Custom Avatar RewardWhile it sounds cool, it is of very little importance to me. If we are allowed to have that as a reward, I will likely strive for it. If we don't, I'm not gunna cry. I want a "social-hierarchy" where I am rewarded with Promotion (In-Game)I would think that social-hierachies would be built into the guilds as they choose to have them. I would understand some sort of "rankings" in the bid for the throne if grimclaw's setting/background is used. I believe an OoG hierarchy would be against the CoC. I want one PC only I want two PCs only I want three PCs only I don't want the number of PCs I can have limitedI have voted for the last option. It goes best with my opinion. I do not want characters limited, however, I understand the concerns that some have. Rather than just "You may have X characters" I would rather see something along the lines of "You start with X characters. Additional characters will be rewarded to players who Y" where X is a number and Y is the requirements to achive additional characters. This I believe would keep people from having multiple characters if they can't handle it and I believe that is one of the concerns of those who want only one character. I want to be able to become a Deity eventuallyI want my character to aquire divine power eventually. However, I think that allowing that would very much put the game balance at risk. |

| turalisj01-08-05, 01:55 PM | all i want is one char for the HeF, one char for the psionics foundation, and one char for the CoA. my ranger/fighter wouldn't be usable for any guild but the HeF and mybe the guild of pure good (although he isn't exactly "pure" good :D ) |
| redhase01-13-05, 06:12 PM | if we are allowed to have 2 charaters, in different guilds thats fine with me. more than two can be a proublem depending on the person. the dm's can watch the players and decide if they can handle two charaters at first, if they can't then help them or do what you think is nessary. as for the one's who want only one charater, if you choose to bring in only one charater, i have no proublem with that, if you choose to do so. If we have a choose of 2 charaters in different guilds that would be better and it would attract new players to the games. start with two charaters in different guilds would be my vote. |
