This potent weapon has all of the above abilities, with the following unique aspects: The Dread ability is effective against whatever creature type it strikes. Also, the Energy Blast ability can be set to any of the five energy types (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic) as a move action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. Either or both ends can be changed in the same action. It ignores hardness less than 30, severs the target’s head on a natural attack roll of 20 with subsequent successful confirmation of the critical, and has a critical multiplier of x1d4 rather than x2. In Dyrxakis’ hands, the keen ability of Quietus stacks with the Improved Critical feat. Mark of the Messiah Spellcraft DC:55 27 (reflect: melee) + 27 (reflect: ranged) + 27 (reflect: spells) + 20 (reflect area spells) + 180 (reflect all spells from 1st-10th level) x 5 (duration permanent) = 1405 - 100 (burn 10,000 XP) - 450 (ritual: 50 5th-level slots) - 350 (ritual: 50 4th-level slots) - 250 (ritual: 50 3rd-level slots) - 150 (ritual: 50 2th-level slots) - 50 (ritual: 50 1th-level slots) Upon the completion of this ritual, the target is bathed in an irredescent, blinding light. After the light fades, the target nevertheless glows with an otherworldly light for the rest of their lives. All spells and attacks made against the target rebound on the attacker automatically without a save involved, with the sole exception of epic spells (which require an opposed castor-level check). Ultima Transmutation Spellcraft DC: 54 Components: XP Casting Time: 1 quickened action Range: 12,000 feet Area: 400-foot radius sphere Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: Fort half Spell Resistance: Yes To Develop: 486,000 gp; 10 days; 19,440 XP. Seed: Destroy (DC 29). Factors: 1 quickened action casting time (+28 DC), no somatic or material components (+4 DC), change area (+10 DC), change area to 20-foot radius (+2 DC), increase area by 2000% (+80 DC), additional 20d6 damage (+40 DC), increase damage die to d20 (+40 DC), +10 save DC (+20 DC), +10 on spell resistance checks (+20 DC). Mitigating Factors: 20d6 backlash (-20 DC), burn 20,000 XP (-200 DC). Your mere thought vaporizes civilizations. Upon casting this spell as a free action, a 400-foot radius sphere of destruction blossoms into being within 12,000 feet and deals 40d20 damage to everything in the area of its effect. Creatures may make a Fort save for half damage (DC 30 + relevant modifier), and spell resistance still applies (although you get an additional +10 to your check to overcome it). Creatures reduced to -10 HP and objects reduced to 0 HP by this damage are burned to ash which blankets the mammoth crater this spell usually creates. Longinus Lance Transmutation Spellcraft DC: 52 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: 300 feet Effect: Lance of destructive force Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: Yes To Develop: 468,000 gp; 10 days; 18,720 XP. Seed: Destroy (DC 29). Factors: 1-action casting time (+20 DC), change area to ray (+4 DC), additional 10 damage dice (+20 DC) increase damage dice to d20 (+40 DC), +10 bonus on rolls to beat SR (+20 DC), penetrate force and magic barriers without destroying them (+5 DC, ad hoc), increase range 200% (+4 DC). Mitigating Factors: 40d6 backlash damage (-40 DC), burn 5,000 XP (-50 DC). Drawing out your very life-force you form it into a two-pronged lance of pure, destructive energy. Once hurled, the lance flies towards the chosen target, penetrating all magic and force effects in its arc without destroying them - the lance even defeats Prismatic Walls, Antimagic Spheres, and all spells using the Ward seed (although this requires a successful caster level check). The only defense against a Longinus Lance is Spell Resistance (which the caster gets a bonus +10 to defeat) and if the thrower happens to miss with their ranged touch attack. The lance strikes with tremendous, annihilating power. A struck target takes 30d20 points of damage with no save, or 60d20 on a critical hit. If this amount of damage is enough to reduce a living target to -10 HP (or an undead/construct to 0 HP) their bodies vaporize, leaving nothing behind but a trace of fine dust. Survivors are usually in no better shape. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 06:29 PM | Quietus: Major Artifact Obdurium +10 Keen Dread Vorpal Maiming Energy Blast Unholy Power Two-Bladed Sword. In Dyrxakis’ hands, the keen ability of Quietus stacks with the Improved Critical feat. The reason I made it maiming is because I figure it would take little to no effort for Dyrxakis to use his Alter Reality SDA to have all his d4's come up as 4 for a round or two, which sets up the energy blast and unholy power abilities rather nicely. |
| Blasphemous Revenant10-23-05, 07:24 PM | What do you need? *Looks at posts above* What is that massively powerful multi-headed dragon? And the artifact? By-the-way, Obdurium is an extremely hard metal, a step above Adamantine. I know it is in the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook, but I am unsure if it appears in more detail in other supplements. |

| Blasphemous Revenant10-23-05, 07:39 PM | Well, I'm not very familiar with dragons, kobolds, or paramilitary complexes, but I suppose I could give it a shot. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 07:40 PM | what have you got in mind Immodicus? |
| Blasphemous Revenant10-23-05, 07:54 PM | Hmm, I'll have to think.... For soldiers, you could take Leadership to get a bunch of Kobold followers. If you build them right, you could have a whole army that is adept at creating traps, hiding in the shadows until they're sprung, then ambushing enemies after they're weakened. And since Kobolds have darkvision, you don't need any light sources in the complex, and the darkness could be another obstacle for intruders. There's an excerpt in one of the monthly previews for restrictive tunnels. Because of a Kobold's small size, you could build the complex to be difficult for larger creatures to move around in (or, at the very least, you could make the hallways very cramped). I'll see if I can pull up that excerpt. You could bound a few devils and put them in different rooms to act as guardians. You might be able to come up with some kind of outsider that is more similar to dragons, kobolds, and other reptilians, since that might suit your guild better. The DMG has simple traps you could put in your complex, with the appropriate prices listed. However, I believe the highest CR for the traps is 10, so you might have to spend extra for the most potent traps, and they might not be as effective against PCs. The Stronghold Builder's Guidebook has everything you need to build, destroy, defend, or capture a stronghold. It has plenty of mundane and magical accessories, as well as expands upon siege weapons and gives a lot of suggestions for getting the most out of your stronghold. If you want to have any kind of stronghold, I would really recommend getting this book. EDIT: This (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20050602a) should take you to the excerpt on restrictive tunnels. |

| Blasphemous Revenant10-23-05, 08:06 PM | This (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mm/20030920a) has a little bit of something for reptilian creatures, in case you want to expand your guild to include more than just half-black dragon kobolds. Can I get your help at the GoUE, Revenant? I'll see what I can do. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 08:14 PM | see title* :chicken: |
| Blasphemous Revenant10-23-05, 08:29 PM | I'm searching for anything kobold-related, such as PrC's or magic items. But, most of the entries seem to be for D&D miniatures. I believe Draconomicon has a great deal of information for reptilian creatures, especially dragons. I think it enables you to get dragon eggs and raise dragons from wyrmlings. Perhaps your guild could purchase a bunch of black dragon eggs and raise dragons? |

| The Kobold Hero10-25-05, 08:26 PM | Varek "Thinking to walk the deep tunnels alone and unseen?" the kobold sneered. "Kurtelmak whispers and warns, and so you are found. Dead now, by our hand." Varek displays little of the cowardice common to most other kobolds. Spawn of a union between the tribe's leader and a black dragon named Malsifae, Varek has excelled in both martial combat and the art of assassination. Having heard many tales of knights, wizards, and scoundrels, Varek has left his tribe to pursue a similar path. Though typically a loner, he occasionally falls in with other groups of kobolds, serving as a potent ally or even a short-term leader. Varek has no fear of throwing himself into melee with a larger opponent, but he isn't stupid and avoids foolish fights. If he is losing, he doesn't hesitate to withdraw so that he can fight another day. | VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-25-05, 09:00 PM | WELCOME TO THE KM:BDD! what would you like your position to be? |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 10:35 PM | You know, characters are supposed to only go on the Player Character Thread 4, really... On that note, Nemesis, first, I never did approve your character in the PC thread, and secondly, a half dragon must be at least large to have wings, or maybe the variant Jagggar introduced. I was thinking about this and finally got around to checking it, especially after I saw it say "approved" on your character sheet. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-25-05, 10:41 PM | i never said he was approved for YOUR thread, but i dont care because he is on MINE and about the wings its a 50%-50% chance. |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 10:44 PM | 3.0? Because we use 3.5. In 3.5, it's fixed at large. Also, that's NOT how the rules work. Here, it works like this: The character is either approved, not approved, or approval pending (ie, somewhat fuzzy in certain areas, but not currently game affecting would be approval pending). Board GMs or the Character GM decides if your character is approved, and not the players, no matter where they are in the forum. You have no authority to approve your own character, as it said in the PC thread. For pulling this Nemesis & Ghost / APPROVED: YES Nemesis,Male Half-Black Dragon Kobold Ranger 12 you are now officially last in the list for review. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-25-05, 10:47 PM | 3.0? Because we use 3.5. In 3.5, it's fixed at large. i cant freakin remember, i have wings lets just leave it @ that |

| The Kobold Hero10-26-05, 01:37 AM | WELCOME TO THE KM:BDD! what would you like your position to be? Sorry for the late reply. Position? Elite Gnome Hunter Updated character sheet! Varek is now Half-Black dragon Half Kobold. |
| NobleKobold10-26-05, 07:30 AM | Say, if you want a sergeant: Why not a kobold Sorcerer Mindbender? Guarenteed loyalty from his minions. Nothing like a dominate or eternal charm to ensure complete obedience from those annoying Demons. Really helps when you're on the lookout for henchmen recruiting. I like the idea of some monstrous PC smashing through the front door, look down to see a two foot kobold, and promptly kneel before the little chap swearing his eternal loyalty after failing his will save. I could make one up... But I'm not sure of the ECL you're after. - NobleKobold |
| The Kobold Hero10-26-05, 12:44 PM | I've always had bad luck as a spellcaster. . . And also Varek is a ranger, and rangers are a little more suited of tracking down troublesome foes and killing them. :plotting: But the idea of a henchman would be cool. |

| The Kobold Hero10-26-05, 06:39 PM | Yeah i can see that. Okay so its not the most original idea, but kobold rangers work out preaty well. |

| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-27-05, 07:18 PM | Varek Varek displays little of the cowardice common to most other kobolds. If he is losing, he doesn't hesitate to withdraw so that he can fight another day. | gabrion10-27-05, 08:14 PM | Got my Level 15 ranger/rouge/assassin up. look in my originalcharacter sheet post on page one. Also keep in mind that your character is too high of an ECL. You have 15 class levels and a +3(?) LA for the template, making you ECL 18. You need to bring it down by three levels. |
| Demonfey10-27-05, 08:19 PM | Gabe's right. |
| The Kobold Hero10-27-05, 08:23 PM | I used this (http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htm) As for the level thing: Whoops i should have rememberd that. I'll fix it in a sec. :( EDIT: fixed |

| The Kobold Hero10-27-05, 11:35 PM | What kind of character do you want? i assume some kind of half-dragon-half-kobold. :D |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-29-05, 04:30 PM | What kind of character do you want? i assume some kind of half-dragon-half-kobold. :D ^_^ yes of course, though, check title as for classes: Black Dragon Disciple 10 / Shadow Dancer 10 / Assassin 10 as for weapons / armor something along the lines of "Quietus", the Son's artifact weapon (for info, review his rough draft on the epic board) would do nicely since we will be hunting for dragon orbs, artifacts, and Legacy Weapons..... it is effectively a ECL 33, right? the DM said that would be fine since the other player just recently came into the 30-35 range instead of 25-30 which i originally thought. |
| Demonfey10-29-05, 04:43 PM | You have to have some sorceror in there, though. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-29-05, 04:50 PM | You have to have some sorceror in there, though. i hope 2 lvls will be enough cause i dont like to use a lot of spells anyways, i shall not be here for some time due to problems @ home w/grades and such so, Hero & Demonfey, please mind the guild while i am gone. thanks |
| Demonfey10-29-05, 05:16 PM | All yours, Hero. I'll check in from time to time, though. |
| The Kobold Hero10-29-05, 06:38 PM | Okay, i'll porbley have him ready by the end of the weekend. (halloween party tonight) :P |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-30-05, 04:54 PM | if anyone is able, the Son of Asmodeus/Tiamat on my epic thread needs a little bit to finish him, his basis is done right now, just class skill points, abilities, etc need to be written out. thanks |
| The Kobold Hero10-30-05, 05:58 PM | Right now, multiple prestige classes are not possable at my skill level. I can't quite figure out how it would work. . . Sorry, but i think you will have to take this issue to the character optimasation boards. :( I'll still try my best to come up with a character that matchs the concept. EDIT: I found out that creatures of the dragon "type" cannot take levels in Dragon Disciple. I'll probley make him a Dhadow Dancer or Assassin with decent levels in Scorcer, and a lerge amount of levels in rouge. |

| gabrion10-30-05, 11:32 PM | how bout, just make him half-black dragon from the start, and make him an epic shadow dancer/epic assassin I do fair bit of CO work, so if you can tell me exactly what you want this character to be capable of, I can probably help you out. In order to be of any help though, I will need the following... 1) Exact level at which you will start 2) Sources allowed 3) What purpose you want him to serve. This is the most important and I will need you to be very specific. For instance, I need to know if you want a spellcaster type or something else. If you wanted a spellcaster, I would need to know if you want arcane or divine spells. After that I would need to know if you want him focussed on blasting or buffing. Etc. (This is just one example) 4) Any details that must be part of the character. IE, I'm assuming you want a kobold half-dragon. Anything else that must be there should be listed. |

| Demonfey11-01-05, 08:40 AM | Needs rogue or monk in there, too. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis11-01-05, 06:56 PM | Ok, so starting ECL of 43? Can I use other classes to accomplish the assassin theme instead of just shadowdancer and assassin? just stick with those if you can |
| gabrion11-01-05, 11:27 PM | just stick with those if you can A few things... As DF pointed out, a build can't just consist in those classes, since they are PrCs. I will need to add a base of some kind in there (probably rogue). If you want me to make something really kick***, it would be best not to have me use the assassin PrC. It is a suboptimal class and lots of other classes grant a death attack, so their is not reason to use that one in particular. If the point is to make a really awesome and sneaky assassin, you would be better served by other choices. If you insist though, I can try to make something worthwhile out of an assassin/shadowdancer combo. |

| Demonfey11-02-05, 08:41 PM | Pretty sure the PrC requires some kind of sneak attack ability. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis11-02-05, 08:43 PM | Pretty sure the PrC requires some kind of sneak attack ability. classes would be soulknife assassin shadowdancer do u mean that instead of soulknife i'd need somethin with sneak/death attack or the like? like a ninja ? |
| The Kobold Hero11-02-05, 09:27 PM | To get assassin or shadowdancer you do not need a class with Sneak attack or death attack. In fact, the only other class with death attack (other then the assassin) is the blackguard. |

In fact, the only other class with death attack (other then the assassin) is the blackguard. Not true. Actually the ones I can think of off hand are... Stonedeath assassin Dark Hunter Darkwood Stalker Telflammar Shadowlord Strifeleader Black Flame Zealot Reaping Mauler (well not really a death attack, but kinda like it) I'm sure there are others as well. @VampiricBloodlustNemesis-How would you feel about me using a casting class for the base and throwing in the fatespinner PrC? I'm putting something together for you right now, and I'm putting the emphasis on three things (in this order): High Death Attack DC. At the level your talking, people can have fort saves in the 70+ range, so making a death attack DC really high is super important. Stealth. I'm trying to make something that can infiltrate a place perfectly without drawing attention or being seen. This is hand for assassination, but also for just being a rogue type. Being able to death attack anything. Normally Undead and Constructs are immune to this, but I'm making this character so it can performa DA on pretty much any foe. Let me know if you have different priorities for the character. Also, when do you need it finished? Lastly, will the game you are in be using epic spells? |
| The Kobold Hero11-03-05, 11:37 AM | Yes well i'm talking about CORE (or at least close) classes. |

| Demonfey11-03-05, 07:10 PM | That would have repetitive abilities, and you still have no core class. Just PrCs. |

| gabrion11-04-05, 03:06 AM | i just do. not that i dont like your build, i just would rather use something along my own lines Well as I said above, I'm more into getting the most "bang for your buck," than worrying about what PrCs are appealing, so I can provide a super effective build for you (as done above), but if you just have a particular picture of what word you want on the page in the "classes" section of your character sheet, I won't be of much help. ;) That said, if you're bent on having a character w/ levels in assassin and shadowalker, make sure you pick up the ability focus (death attack) feat and the Darkstalker feat (LoM). Other than that, I won't be able to offer to much advice if you are super set on playing those classes. |

I HATE DEALING WITH A LOT OF SPELLS |
| gabrion11-04-05, 08:50 PM | BUT PLEASE KEEP SPELLCASTING TO A MINIMUM! I HATE DEALING WITH A LOT OF SPELLS I can do that, but just keep in mind that any 60th level character without access to at least 9th level spells is going to be extremely weak. If you insist though, I'll keep spellcasting to a min, but keep in mind that the assassin does cast spells. Don't get too freaked out by the Fatespinner and cleric in the build, since they are a minor part and you can just ignore their spellcasing if you want (the benefits come from BFZ and the special abilities of the Fatespinner). So here's the latest, and I think it will serve you nicely. Rogue (or something else w/ SA) 4/Cleric 1/Assassin 20/Shadodancer 20/Telflammar Shadowlord 6/Black Flame Zealot 4/Fatespinner 5 You'll have to rule that all the levels granting death attack stack for determining the DC, but if you do you should end up with the following cool stuff... Death attack DC of about 67 and you can force a reroll if they succeed. If you were to waste all your epic feats on raising INT, you could get it up to 76, but I don't think that's worth it. 19 Epic feats, which should give you everything you need make this guy absolutely amazing. The shadowlord+shadowdancer combo gives you the ability to dim door quite a few times each day, and follow it up with a full round of attacks. One last thing I must say is that if you are making this a "god" type character and using 60 levels, there really is no need to optimize it. Give it some salient abilities an you'll be good to go. |

| Demonfey11-08-05, 07:26 PM | It doesn't matter anymore, since Nemesis left. Care to loot the place with us, as acting master of this place? Or would you like to take it over, and make it your own? |

| Demonfey11-08-05, 07:30 PM | Well, up to him and Jagggar. I just PMed her. |
| The Kobold Hero11-08-05, 07:31 PM | I'll be glad to get some loot. But the offer of leader just isn't my thing. Someone else can lead, i'm more of a secound-in-command. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-08-05, 07:37 PM | Priest begins thoroughly searching the place for Nemesis' personal and most valued items..... $$$ ! |
| Demonfey11-08-05, 07:39 PM | I was just going to loot the place and let it rot, but I just came up with an idea...Priest, with some rennovating, maybe a new name, couple other things, how'd you like to run this place as your own? Hero, you're now an official member of the GoUE, if you want, and can be second in command, or head something if you want to. |

| The Kobold Hero11-08-05, 08:49 PM | Anyone have a linky? Or do I have to find it myself? |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-08-05, 08:58 PM | Anyone have a linky? Or do I have to find it myself? its one of the major guilds you'll spot it |

| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-08-05, 09:03 PM | Your prolly going to wnat to restart the thread so that it is more formal and shows more class this one? ill remake it, to the fairness of all the guilds |
| Wilds11-08-05, 09:19 PM | ok |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-08-05, 09:22 PM | ok name suggestions? Guild of Deicidal Assassins? Deicidal Abominations Unholy Despoilers? |
| Demonfey11-08-05, 10:00 PM | sounds cool what do i have to do? I like Unholy Dispoilers, personally. For what you have to do, well, basically you are in charge of the guild, get funding as a guild, all that good stuff, but are a branch of the GoUE. In other words, if you need help, or are attacked, the GoUE will automatically come to your aid, and vice versa. Another way to put it would be that you are an outpost. You are also a member of my council of generals. |

| Demonfey11-08-05, 10:10 PM | You can just be the Unholy Despoilers. I just wanted to mention that you are basically an offshoot of the GoUE. Another thing I forgot to mention: if you need to retreat, you head to the main building for protection, and if we need to retreat, we come to stay with you until we can rebuild our base. Are you okay with that? Oh, and all members of the Despoilers would be GoUE members as well. |
