| Dyne06-13-05, 01:08 AM | Interplanar Bank Welcome to the bank that serves individuals across the Multiverse, despite being based on the Material Plane (Tyranor). Here, you can set up an account to store your money, where it will accumulate interest over time. Also, you can receive loan for some extra cash. Notice The following is subject to change. We may change our terms of service to suit your needs. If you would prefer a change, feel free to share it with us and we may institute the change for our customers' well-being. Loans Loans are taken out in 10,000 gp increments, and the amount to be paid back is determined by how much time you wish to be given to pay it back: Time Amount Owed 1 month 10,100 gp 2 months 10,225 gp 3 months 10,375 gp 4 months 10,550 gp 5 months 10,750 gp 6 months 10,975 gp 7 months 11,225 gp 8 months 11,500 gp 9 months 11,800 gp 10 months 12,125 gp 11 months 12,475 gp 12 months 12,850 gp Accounts Accounts can be established in the safes of the Interplanar Bank. To establish an account, you must have a minimum deposit of 1,000 gp. You must also keep at least 1,000 gp in your account at all times. If there is less than 1,000 gp in your account at any given time, the Interplanar Bank reserves the right to close your account and seize any property deposited within it. But, despite the limitations, the gold in your account may accumulate interest over time. To have an account that accumulates interest, you must make an extra payment. But, gold may only be retrieved on certain times of month marked as "Free Retrieval Days." The minimum deposit required to be in the account at any given time also changes, but the more limitations, the greater the interest. Interest is compounded at the beginning of every month. Payment Minimum Deposit Frequency of Retrieval Interest Each Month 500 gp 2,000 gp Unlimited 0.1 % of deposit 1,000 gp 5,000 gp 2 weeks every month 1% of deposit 2,000 gp 10,000 gp 1 week every month 2% of deposit The "deposit" is the amount of money that has been placed in the account by the client, not including interest accumulated. However, at the beginning every year, interest is compounded in the account to be counted as part of the deposit. On "Non-Free Retrieval Days," money may still be withdrawn, but interest is not accumulated for the month that it is withdrawn. Note In-Game, one month passes for every real-life week. So, for Option #2, money may be withdrawn on Mondays and Saturdays of every real-life week. For Option #3, money may be withdrawn on Saturdays of every real-life week. "Would anyone like a tour of the Interplanar Bank? Here, let me show what amount of effort goes into protecting your money." The banker allows you behind the counter, and he takes you to the vault, where the gold from accounts is stored. He waves his hand, and the vault unlocks itself. "We use magic to lock up the vault. Only certain members of our staff have the capability of opening the vault." Beyond the vault door, the chamber is completely dark. You cannot see or hear anything from within. However, once you enter, you see that the chamber is actually well-lit and full of the noises of work going on. "An enchantment is also placed on the vault chamber to make it impossible to spy on it from the outside, by any means." There are shelves with records of various sorts that fill up the room. The clerk takes you to a plain-looking wall, and he walks straight through. You follow suit, and you find yourself in a small, empty room. The clerk claps his hands together, and a large chest appears in the center of the room. "Only a few members of the staff can do that either," he tells you, as waves his hand, unlocking the chest, and opening it. He takes out what seems to be a black cloth. He places the black cloth on the wall, reaches his arm through it (the cloth formed a hole in the wall), and pulls out a hand full of gold. "These black cloths are portable holes, and we have one portable hole for each account. The gold is stored in an extra-dimensional space, where it is impossible to get at, except through the portable hole." He replaces the gold, takes down the portable hole, and puts it back in the chest. He waves his hand again, and the chest locks itself and disappears again. You try to touch the space where the chest was, but you feel nothing, so it isn't invisible. It isn't there at all. "These are only some of the many protections in the bank. You can rest assured that your money is in good hands." The clerk and yourself teleport yourselves out of the room by some means unknown to you (there is no apparent door, and all the walls are quite solid). You once again find yourself before the desk in the lobby. Now Hiring! The Interplanar is looking for new employees to act as supervisors, clerks, and guards. Employees must meet the following criteria: -Must be a member of the Stormhand Federation -Must swear an oath of loyalty and honesty The following positions are open: One additional Supervisor Clerks (currently no limit) Guards (currently no limit) The wages for the different positions are as follows: Supervisor: 2,000 gp per month (In-Game, one week real-life time) Clerk: 1,000 gp per month (In-Game, one week real-life time) Guard: 1,000 gp per month (In-Game, one week real-life time) |

| Dyne06-13-05, 06:38 PM | All right, it's time to decide on the Charter and the Rulings. I'll start with the Charter. If you support the Charter being implemented as is, say "Yay." If you do NOT support the Charter being implemented as is, say "Nay," along with why you don't support it, and what changes you would want made to the Charter. Make only one post for the Charter. If someone else suggests a change, edit that post to include your vote on that change ("Yay" or "Nay"). For example, Player A likes the way the Charter sounds, and so he posts: Votes: Charter: Yay However, Player B doesn't like the Charter, and so he posts: Votes: Charter: Nay Suggestion: Blah blah blah. Player A sees Player B's post, and he decides that he agrees with Player B's suggestion. So, he edit's his post to read: Votes: Charter: Nay Player B's Suggestion: Yay I will tally the votes, and if any suggestions are supported by the majority, I will repost the Charter with the suggestions implemented. We will then go through one final round of voting to make sure that it is exactly what everyone wants. Let's begin: Charter To further the flow of trade; to keep the seller honest in his deals with the customer; to protect merchants by regulating the costs of goods and services. |
| thasis06-13-05, 07:04 PM | Thasis's Objects of Questions You see a small black shop. It's of a rather weird architecture. It's black, tall, and spikey. Looks like something that could have come from hell. It seems oddly connected to the ground as if it came from underneath the ground. As you approach you feel a strange pulse of energy comming from the inside. As you open the door to the building you are amazed. Inside there is a 10ft tall fiend. He slowly beckons for you to enter. "Welcome mortal. Don't be afraid. I'm not hear to kill you. I'm mearly hear to provide you with goods that can help you on your journeys in this world. As you slowly enter the building you see the contents of the room. There are dark books with pentacles, stars, and other runes on them, weapons pulsing with unholy energies. There's all sorts of weird statues and figurines that are off weird satanic beings and monsters. In the back you see a well that has numereous tapestries (all of which have price tags on them) depicting battles of slaughter, evil, and other acts unmentionable. The fiend then grins and says "Now sir (or madam in some cases), what is it that you want" Well here's my shop. I'll try to keep up with stuff this time. |
| Dyne06-14-05, 01:43 AM | On a random note: I've been looking the older Merchants Guild thread to keep track of everyone that has ever joined the guild, and I'm remembering the last IFWG (I know, it's kinda sad that it's been such a long time that "remembering" is necessary at all). I think one of the main problems lately is that people have taken seriously blows to their spirit when the games were closed down and when several GMs quit. But, reading through the old threads, all the memories of the "good times" from before are flooding back. Even more exciting, we are ALMOST at that point again. All we really need to do in order to get them back is to start moving. I would suggest that everyone read through some of the previous stuff, just for ol' times' sake. It might get those creative juices flowing again, and remind us again of what we're working toward. |
| Dyne06-15-05, 12:30 AM | 1) :bump: 2) Just a reminder to vote on the Charter. There was discussion before about the Charter and the Rulings, how they didn't reflect the general opinion of the guild. Well, if that's the case, then let's change them now. 3) I'm going to post links to stuff from the last thread that is prevalent (such as NightScreamer20's Eternity Forge artifact). EDIT: Just for the heck of it: Old Shops Dyne's Magic Shop (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=4978626&postcount=2) Thasis's Shop of Relics and Evil Stuff (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=4978724&postcount=3) Crowley's Rare Metals, Ingredients, Grafts, and Rare Spells (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=4978743&postcount=4) Bait's Shop? (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=4989517&postcount=64) The Hammerforge Corporation (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=4997061&postcount=109) (AKA The shop that almost put the rest of us out of business) Reece's Armor (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=4999793&postcount=111) Sirianth's Crystal Armor and Weapons (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5002531&postcount=115) (Which actually spanned several posts throughout the thread, since Turalisj never compounded it to a single post) Aseir Pashar's Short-Lived "Dark Deals" (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5064749&postcount=306) (AKA clones and loans, but never got a single customer) Bloodrock Smithy (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5064877&postcount=310) (A shop from my short-lived Dwarf character, Rurik Bloodrock, which also never got a single customer) General Stuff of Interest NightScreamer20's Hammerforge Corp. advertisement (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5003010&postcount=133) Clockwork Template (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=246969) Eternity Forge (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5064672&postcount=302) I just realized something. 12 pages of the previous thread were during the time of the IFG. 17 pages were after it was shut down. I never would've thought of that. It's amazing that we kept on that much when our guild depended completely on the IFG. Just a random thought. |
| Bait the Bard06-15-05, 01:16 AM | No Bait's shop ;) It was the place I was tempted to buy, to make a shop/place/thing, but never got around to doing it.. ;) |
| Dyne06-15-05, 01:23 AM | You could still do it now, if you wanted to. You are a member, aren't you? |
| turalisj06-15-05, 01:40 AM | Cruse you, you blasted youngin dragon! Zick yells at sssargoth as he sets up shop. Zick's Gold Sculptures. I'll post later when i'm not so lazy and its not past midnight here. |
| turalisj06-15-05, 01:42 AM | sirianth no longer exists, he's been wiped out of existence. (some say he wandered into a house that turned out to be one of crowley's safe houses, and was turned into a necrolite). |
| Dyne06-15-05, 01:45 AM | I know, I only posted up the Old Shops for the sake of memories. |
| turalisj06-15-05, 01:47 AM | ok. just wanted to make sure... |
| Sssargoth06-15-05, 02:38 AM | Cruse you, you blasted youngin dragon! Zick yells at sssargoth as he sets up shop. "Whatd I do wrong this time? Wait a sec... I'm a dragon, I don't make mistakes." :D |
| turalisj06-15-05, 02:44 AM | Ya set up a gem shop right across from me own shop. that's what you did wrong. suddenly, sssargoth is turned into a kender. Something tells me i should'a turned him into a kith..... that wasn't god-moding, that was a polymorph spell. |
| Sssargoth06-15-05, 03:08 AM | The dragon turned keder looks at his hands quickly, then bum rushes turalisj, glueing his hands to his face with soverign glue. After that, he sticks everything in the shop, except for himself, to the walls and celing. "You willin to call a truce now?" :D |
| turalisj06-15-05, 03:16 AM | Never! I may be old, but I have a few spells up my sleeves...Attack my giant snake of doom! A giant snake appears out of the ground and swallows the dragon/kender. zicks serpent of chaos its a conjuration spell that summons a huge sized snake to the area that obeys to summoner's coomands. it stays in the area for 1 min/per level. :D |
| Sssargoth06-15-05, 03:25 AM | The dragon/kender gnaws its way out of the snakes stomach, freaking it out. "You sure? It looks awful uncomfortable in that corner contorted like that." |
| turalisj06-15-05, 03:35 AM | Yes I'm sure. I've been in worse places, such as the public outhouse at the Blue Lizard. Zick tapped a button on the wall and the room flooded with universal solvent. Now, were where we.....ah yes. The kender now turned into a white dragon. You know what that means... Zick flung a bead of bat guano at sssargoth, blowing up in his face. i just had to put that in. i'm going to remake golos as a gem dragon. i dont know which one yet. |
| Sssargoth06-15-05, 03:45 AM | "Y'know, thats just not nice." The now white dragon causes turalisj to relive the most painful experience he ever had, and slams through the front of the building. He the goes to his shop and waits for the spell to wear off. |
| turalisj06-15-05, 04:01 AM | Throw me out of my own shop will ya? Turalisj, show sssargoth out the door. Zick said as a heavily muscled elf appeared. He went over to dragon, put him into a headlock, and threw him out the door all the way to sssargoths shop. Keep an eye on the shop for me. I'll be at the merchants vernture. Zick said before teleporting to his fortress. that wasn't turalisj, that was zick. theres a diffrence. mainly in age, but also in classes. |
| Sssargoth06-15-05, 04:08 AM | dude, you mis-read it, I slammed through the wall, and I went to my shop... You gotta be more careful when reading things like that. ;) |
| Bait the Bard06-15-05, 04:13 AM | You could still do it now, if you wanted to. You are a member, aren't you? Yes, yes, I am a member, but more for the contacts, better intrest rates from the bank, and possibly access to 'rare goods'. :plotting: I suppose I am a merchant of information, but you need to buy that off me in person. Thouhg I suppose I could make a shop which sells the not so important information, that otherwise would be har to get.. yes, that could be fun. :plotting: Probably under guise of a organisation of foreign merchants. I'll let you know.. ;) |

| Dyne06-15-05, 06:11 PM | Reece may return later, but currently I'm to busy with other matters. If we're allowed to vote even without having a character, then: Charter: Nay. As merchants we would first and foremost care about money. We would be banning together to ensure that we made and kept our money. Adventurers are rich enough as it is, if we can get a few extra copper from them, who is to care? Those who wish to deal completely honestly may do so if they wish, but such ethics should not be forced upon the rest except in our dealings with eachother. I agree. But, how would you suggest it be worded? |
| turalisj06-15-05, 06:20 PM | introduce capitalism to dnd? :D each person who has thier own shop may set the price for thier wares. but, the price may be no diffrent from the normal price for said item. that means that if you want sell a dagger, you could have it for sale a max 1 gold and 5 silver. min 5 silver. sound good? |
| Dyne06-15-05, 06:40 PM | You mean the price could be set anywhere between 50% and 150% of the normal price? In that case, the price for a dagger could be between 1 gp and 3 gp (daggers normally cost 2 gp). |
| turalisj06-15-05, 07:23 PM | no, i mean between -50% and +50%. but if you want to go with 150%, then fine with me. |
| Dyne06-15-05, 11:29 PM | That's what I mean. Between 1/2 and 1 1/2. Or, between 50% discount and 50% extra. Correct? |
| thasis06-16-05, 12:34 AM | I say anyone stupid enough to buy way overpriced items deserves to be ripped. Charge whatever yah want and if yah don't get buisness then it's your fault. As for the charter I vote yay. I'm all for orderly structured enviroment (even if I'm evil). |
| Cazic06-16-05, 02:00 AM | I also say yay for the charter. I say there sould be no price restrictions. let poeple make their own choices. if they want to by a 200 gp item for 2000 gp then so be it and if someone wants to sell a 4000 gp item for 1000 then once again "so be it." I just think the deals should be honest like no "buging" the items. |
| jagggar06-16-05, 09:13 AM | Perhaps we should clarify what we mean by honest then. |
| turalisj06-16-05, 06:47 PM | so wait, i couldn't pay someone with a listening coin? oh, and anyone know the cost to make that spell permanent? |
| Cazic06-16-05, 08:01 PM | so wait, i couldn't pay someone with a listening coin? oh, and anyone know the cost to make that spell permanent? you could but not to your customers. To other merchants why not? |
| turalisj06-16-05, 08:05 PM | ^_^ do you even know what a listening coin is? i could hear your every word with one of those. too bad only bards can cast it.... |
| Cazic06-16-05, 08:16 PM | do you even know what a listening coin is? Do I know what a listening coin does? Let me take a guess..... :thinks: Does it let you see everything I do? Nonono! It lets you smell everything? :help: Not smell? Hmmm...well it couldn't be listening thats just to obvious. Maybe feel everything? :D I will have to get back to you on that. :P *heads toward the CoA to find the anwser* ;) |
| Dyne06-17-05, 04:46 PM | Perhaps we should clarify what we mean by honest then. It can be interpreted however one wants to take it. The Charter is basically just a plaque we stick on our wall. It doesn't affect what happens here at the guild, that's what the Rulings are for. I vote Yay for the Charter, simply because it sounds good and accurately describes what we do here. I'll be less scrutinous of it since it doesn't actually limit us in any way. The Rulings are another thing, but they can wait until later. |
| turalisj06-17-05, 04:51 PM | i vote niether yay nor nay. simply because zick sells more or less unique stuff. |
| Dyne06-23-05, 12:56 AM | Well, since it's been several days since there has been a post, I declare the Charter: PASSED! I'll edit it into the Opening Post. Now, for the Rulings.... We'll do that in a bit. First, just a friendly announcement, the Interplanar Bank is looking for new employees to serve as clerks, guards, and supervisors. See the appropriate post for the Interplanar Bank for more details. Also, I'm wanting to make a character completely dedicated to making items (possibly an artificer or artifex, if I can get my hands on those classes). If there's anyone here wanting to start a shop that sells general magic items and that would like to combine with someone else (or to just hire an extra hand), contact me. Perhaps we could team up. Now, for the 1st Ruling. Vote as before, for the Charter: All goods that are produced at a Merchants Guild shop must be sold at 75% the standard price. If a shop wishes to sell at a different price, they must have the approval of the rest of the guild. |
| jagggar06-23-05, 01:14 AM | :yuck: No less than 75%. The guild has no right to put a cap on prices. All goods that are produced at a Merchants Guild shop may not be sold to the public for less than 75% the standard price. If a shop wishes to sell at a different price, they must have the approval of the rest of the guild. |
| thasis06-23-05, 02:07 PM | I vote Nay. That's the stupidest rule ever. Didn't we already decide that price caps are stupid. |
| jagggar06-23-05, 03:57 PM | Ya know what? I think I'm gunna get right on rebuilding Reece and deciding if he's named Reece or Reese. (Heck, you guys can even vote on which spelling it is.) The capitalist pig in me just can't stand it! |
| Dyne06-30-05, 03:54 AM | Awesome, jagggar. It'll be good to have you aboard, regardless of how you spell Reece/Reese's name. I've been busy lately, so I haven't been able to post here for awhile. I raised the wages for employees of the Interplanar Bank, hoping someone will bite. 1st Ruling: Nay. I no longer like the limitations much either. Jagggar's suggestion: I'm all for it, if the other members are up for it. A minimum limit leaves shops free to set price they like, but it keeps competing down |
| jagggar07-02-05, 08:02 PM | In the process of creating Reese. Trying to decide the best way to divide up his followers. But I've also come to a question: Do we have a joint building for our shops or do we each have individual buildings? |
| Dyne07-04-05, 09:58 PM | Both. We each must design and pay for our own shops, but all the guild's shops will be enclosed in one large building, sorta like a mall. That way, people are free to design their shop however they want, we're gathered close enough together in order to actually feel like a guild (instead of a bunch of competing merchants), and were in one enclosed area for protection. At least, I'm pretty sure that's what we settled on. It seems the best idea to me, but if anyone disagrees, we could change it. |
| jagggar07-05-05, 11:32 AM | Are we allowed to also provide living quarters for our followers or do we just pretend they live somewhere near? (Reese has his own band of followers, enhanced by our trade-in chart.) |
| Dyne07-05-05, 01:40 PM | Hmm, perhaps you could put the living quarters underground, beneath your shop. There, they'd be out of the way. Or we could set aside an area for living quarters, but I think it'd be better for them to be underground. |
| Cazic07-05-05, 03:23 PM | i think the underground one is the best aswell. it provides more protection for your men and makes getting to work 0 trouble for them. :ayyyy!: i like the idea of them all living together in one area, but it is unlikely that the rival shop workers would leave their rivalry at the shop and bar. :pint: Workers could turn up dead or injuried much easier. If this was not a problem i would go for this since it could create a since of community and they could learn from each other. Aswell it could create brotherhood and open things up for fammilies (kids make for free labor :dancin: ). Workers who like eachother fight together and are less likely to kill eachother so this could make for a good Merchant Security..... :thinks: Acully I am starting to like that idea. if we could make it work it would be GREAT for us, but if we cant lets go with underground. |
| jagggar07-05-05, 03:45 PM | So what are we using our guild followers for? Protection I guess? Each one having a craft skill of some sort at least? |
| Dyne07-05-05, 03:49 PM | It's up to you, but I'd use my followers to help craft items. Especially with the rules for trading followers in for higher-level ones, they could make quite a difference in how fast you can produce items. EDIT: Besides, one or two 15th-level characters could squash hundreds of characters lower in level than them. EDIT2: Wait, guild followers? Shoot, hadn't thought of them. Perhaps we could spread them out among the members? I don't think we have much need for soldiers, but we could use them for a sort of militia if you guys really want. |
| jagggar07-05-05, 03:57 PM | Well, my followers are for crafting, but I was thinking it might be good to have some guards which protect the whole of the guildhouse. Perhaps they're not the best defense, but they might be able to stall someone or if someone decides to bring their followers against the guild (for what crazy reason I don't know). |
| Dyne07-05-05, 04:04 PM | Followers are rarely worthwhile in combat. Even against other followers, it'd be easier for one of the wizards in this guild to just launch a few fireballs and be done with it. Besides, if we used them for soldiers, I would feel too much like we were becoming the Trade Federation from Star Wars. *Shudders* Perhaps we could have them be craftsmen that could function as a militia in need. They could craft their own weapons and armor, so with the combined might of the guild, they could be pretty well equipped, well enough to make up for a lack in combat skills. I was thinking about them being artificers. It sounds like an interesting class, but I'm afraid I don't have the stats for it.... Perhaps Experts would do, or even Wizards with Item Creation feats (and a repertoire of blasting spells). |
| jagggar07-05-05, 04:16 PM | If we're sticking them at 1st level, then Experts would be good. I've got no real ideas about Artificer myself. Personally, I don't think a medium BAB class is a bad thing for them to be. I mean more defense wise rather than attacking others. Hmmm . . . NPC merchant caravan. . . No, bad scheming. . . |
| Cazic07-05-05, 07:10 PM | I have read a bit on Artificers (dont know to much) from what i can remeber they are really good for magic items in all their forms (use, creation, etc). i will have to read up on them next time i go to the book store (not sure when that will be :weep: ). |
| turalisj07-06-05, 08:21 PM | zik has his own BoA, so all i need for him is some gaurds and a place to set his shop up at. heck, his place is an island. that means i can get material from almost anywhere. now, if only i could find a portal big enough..... |
| Dyne07-08-05, 11:42 PM | How about, once the Guild Leadership Score is figured, a portion of the levels of followers is given to each member (for workshop helpers and whatnot), and a portion of the followers are set aside for the foundation at large (for guards and such). |
| jagggar07-27-05, 02:57 PM | Do we even have an In-Character Guildmaster yet? And which members have (or rather, will have soon) characters for the Merch Guild? It'll be helpful in figuring out how much we have to begin with. |
| turalisj07-27-05, 03:02 PM | well, zik makes his stuff at his castle, then teleports here to sell them |
| jagggar07-28-05, 11:30 PM | Okay, just figured, and Reese's shop is 30 ss in size. Oh, and after he's got it all built with his landlord feat, he's still got money to spare. So we gunna work on the building any? What about figuring a Guildmaster? |
| Dyne07-30-05, 03:37 PM | I still plan on having Yon's Sanctuary as a place of healing for this guild. I have no desire to be guildmaster here, since I have noticeably less time than the previous time around. If you would be interested, I would be glad to hand the mantle of guildmastership over to you, jagggar. I believe you would be the best suited for it, and I don't believe it would conflict with your GM duties since the Merchants Guild is very neutral. |
| turalisj07-30-05, 07:25 PM | zik votes jagger as guildmaster (or should it be guild mistress?) :D |
| Zombomaniac07-30-05, 10:53 PM | Zombomaniac votes Jagger as the guild Queen :D |
| jagggar07-31-05, 12:08 AM | Well, since it would be Reese rather than jagggar, it would definately be Master, not Mistress. I think I'm gunna make Reese's shop a little bigger than I first thought. At least, I think he's gunna pay for part of the main meeting room (enchantments specificly). How big should that be? And we need to get back to the purpose of the Merch Guild's followers. Low-level? High-level? Guards? Workers? How shall we split them? |
| Dyne07-31-05, 01:58 AM | I don't think we need followers as guards. For protection, we could hire mercenaries, build constructs, stuff like that. I vote the followers be higher-level and that they are crafters. They could be Artificers, but I'm not exactly sure how they could be divided up. Perhaps they could all just be extras that are rented out to members. That could be a way of raising funds for the Guild Coffers, like the Guild Dues from last time. |
| Master_of_Flames07-31-05, 02:19 AM | did i hear you need mercenaries? :D |
| jagggar07-31-05, 02:38 AM | Not as of yet. Especially since there's no danger until the wars actually start. Hmm. See, the great thing about using them as crafters is that craft is a class skill for everyone. We could technically use them as guards and crafters. Have each one take max ranks in a craft skill and have a variety of classes. Okay people, rate from your highest preference to your lowest: Few Higher-level Crafters Few Higher-level Guards Many Lower-level Crafters Many Lower-level Guards |
| Dyne07-31-05, 02:43 AM | By crafters, I meant more as magical crafters, i.e. wizards with item creation feats. My ratings: 1st: Few Higher-Level Crafters 2nd: Many Lower-Level Crafters 3rd: Few Higher-Level Guards 4th: Many Lower-Level Guards |
| jagggar08-15-05, 03:58 PM | YO! We need to know who's still here and IN-CHARACTER member. We need votes on how our followers should be used. We need a little more detail on how our stronghold/mall is going to be designed. We need to decide what districts it would be advantagous to hold assets in. I'm quite sure we want the Marketplace of Tyranor Proper. |
| Dyne08-15-05, 09:29 PM | I'm here, and in-character. Either I'm going to have Yon the Healer or some other character as a member here. The other option would be to have a character designed completely for crafting magic items, ideally an Artifice (but I don't have Eberron, so that's difficult at the moment). I've already given my votes for followers. As for the stronghold, I couldn't be much help at the moment because I'm still struggling with the stronghold of the Stormhand Federation. As for assets: Go for one in every city, at the very least. Marketplaces are the specialty of the Merchants Guild, and so we should have them everywhere, at the very least much more numerous than any other guild. I'd say to aim for having marketplaces in every district there is, but perhaps a more down-to-earth approach would appropriate at the beginning. |
| thasis09-12-05, 12:21 AM | Oi, We need to get this back and running. How can we forget the Merchant Guild! |
| jagggar09-14-05, 12:07 PM | After I get my GM duties done and either before or after I get my new character up, I hope to PM all in the guild. Also, I could use some help making Reece's cohort. Straight wizard made for crafting, I'll recheck the level later. Still gotta type that PM, but until then: We need to figure out what other asset we want, if we want a resource collection facility anywhere or if we want to get another asset in the marketplace (D&D Monoploy!) Still the matter of followers to create. If any of our members happen to have Ebberon and would be willing to craft us an Artificer 6 and tell us what he/she/it can do it would be appreciated. I'm thinking of making this place a good size with an upper and lower floor and a basement. Make plenty of shop spaces, and then depending on the shop space charge a start-up cost as opposed to some sort of monthly rent. Next post, gunna type up a few items. Then I'll get to my duty of seein' who's around or not. |

For example, you could have a silvered frost brand for 54,655 gp (54,475 gp (frost brand) + 180 gp (silvered 2handed weapon)). |

Though in his case he tends to remove the magic/item and add it's price to another. "Rhino" Fullplate for example. Simply subtracting the price of a normal say.. +2 armor from the price of the specific magic item does wonders. Orcy sees no real difference in changing the material. Also... what the hey, Orcy might have a character up for this guild some time soon. |
| NightScreamer2009-15-05, 01:32 AM | Hmm.. I will rejoin soon, I need to get Athran (the Character I intend to be Mr. Merchant) on the boards... When he comes he has more than 200 followers, not to mention the members of the flight crew that his Cohort has in order to Pilot the Airship... |
| Abicus Acton09-25-05, 06:40 PM | Professor Acton of the Academy of Wizardry walks into the Merchants Guild. He seems slightly tired and worried, probably because of the coming war. "I would like to set up a shop. The Academy's Magic Item section needs a place to sell its wares. Whom am I to speak with?" |
| Abicus Acton09-28-05, 01:36 AM | Is anyone here? |
| jagggar09-28-05, 02:04 AM | Yeah. Sorry about not responding. Reece is supposed to be the head of the Merchant's Guild. Been getting tied up with other GM duties. I'll try to reply in character later. But right now, what sort of info would you like for setting up shop? |
| Abicus Acton09-28-05, 08:00 PM | What must one do to join and set up shop? And could you tell me of the structure/organization of this guild? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-02-05, 03:26 PM | A whistling sound echoes from above in the air. Wind rushes as something massive slams into the ground nearby. Outside, the walls of a pod fall to the ground. Within, a huge stone creature carved in the shape of a balor walks out. Behind it, a rather draconic looking Death Slaad follows. From the sky, an erinyes, also with draconic features lands on the stone creature's back. Finally as the dust settles, a man covered in armor steps out of the pod. His arms the only things left uncovered. These however, were made of red crystal. The arms were clawed and had long wicked spikes coming off the back side of them. The shoulders extending upwards in the same types of spikes. One arm bore symbols of an arcane nature, while the other had psionic sigils. Clearing his throat he steps into the main hall of the merchants guild. His face covered by a helmet with a fang filled mouth and eyes set with blue gems. "Hello folks. How are you today? I've come to join this organization. See, these are my buddys here, I've known them since they were born even! I would like to set up shot as soon as possible. Whadda ya say?" |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-02-05, 07:52 PM | Glenn's Mechana This shop is lined with creatures large and small. These creatures appear to be fully living, until taking a closer look. Upon this closer inspection it is obvious that these creatures are made of some sort of clockwork parts. Their bodies are fake, and they do not move without command. A sign rests on the wall behind a desk. Glenn, the owner of the shop sits behind the counter, working on one thing or another. A closer look at the sign will allow the viewer to read the following. Effigies: Size: Tiny (250gp) Small (500gp) Medium (1,000gp) Large (2,000gp) Huge (5,000gp) Gargantuan (10,000gp) Colossal (25,000gp) Hit Dice: 1-5 (HDx700) 6-10 (HDx800) 11-15 (HDx900gp) 16+ (HDx1000gp) Templates: Add 1000gp per CR added Magic Weapons: 80% of the magical weapon's cost Specials: Bugbear Effigy (With shield and morningstar) 2700gp Tiger Effigy 5700gp Note: trades of magical items will have a part of their price subtracted from the cost of an effigy. |
| Abicus Acton10-02-05, 08:20 PM | A figure on a broomstick flies overhead. He points his staff, and sparks fly out, forming words: Come One, Come All! To the 1st Annual Quidditch World Cup To Take Place on the 5th of October At Conscientia, the Academy of Magic Bring Your Broomsticks! The figure then flies off into the distance. |
| Demonfey10-03-05, 05:49 PM | A creature that looks like it was human at some point long in its past slithers into the building. Hmmm...this looks like a good place to set up shop. He looks at Glenn's shop Excuse me, Mr...Glenn? I would like to buy a shop, but until I make enough money to buy a place here, can I use your lab if I get business at all? I will offer ten percent of earnings from what I make off grafting as rent, in addition to any prices for materials, after getting full payment, with a 1000 gold piece loan on it initially as a sign of good will. Is that okay as an arrangement? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-03-05, 05:59 PM | Glenn raises an eyebrow at the strange creature then shrugs his shoulders. He looks around the shop which seems to have no more than the simple display room. "Well, I'd have to speak with my... as-of-yet unknown associate. Our work is done on his eh... ship. Ya know, way up there in the sky. So currently I can't give ya a yes or no answer. I'll be able ta tell ya more once he finally shows up." |
| Demonfey10-03-05, 06:09 PM | Oh. I had just assumed that you had a construction table and a lab here, since it would be sensible. |
| jagggar10-03-05, 06:47 PM | "My apologies gentlemen, I've been busy making arrangements so my craftsmen can join me here. My name is Reece and I am the current guildmaster. We're currently having some troubles with the workers constructing the new guildhouse but the work should soon be complete. If you would like to reserve space to either show your wears or to work on them, I can make sure you get what you would like." Translation: I've yet to actually design the guildhouse (though I know it's mall-like in design). Tell me what sort of stronghold spaces you'd like and I'll make sure to get them in. |
| Demonfey10-03-05, 06:52 PM | Two rooms: one waiting room, with comfy chairs and stuff to look at, including lists of what grafts are offered, and the next room to be full of surgical equipment, and with an operating table with straps. Basically, the job necessities. |
| Abicus Acton10-03-05, 06:58 PM | I believe we will need only a shop and a storage room, both preferably of Fancy quality. |
| Demonfey10-03-05, 07:32 PM | Now, for some business: Mr. Glenn, I believe that a humanoid effigy would be helpful, namely for helping with parts of operations such as handing me tools and whatnot. How much for an effigy without that much strength? Basically, an effigy, possibly commoner, that can be taught how to do simple operations and whatnot. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-03-05, 09:44 PM | Now, for some business: Mr. Glenn, I believe that a humanoid effigy would be helpful, namely for helping with parts of operations such as handing me tools and whatnot. He looks around the shop and taps the table with one of his crystal claws. "How about... a human, or an Orc... maybe an elf really whatever race you want could work. Just tell me what you need and I'll get right to it." |
| Demonfey10-03-05, 09:48 PM | Now that I think about it, a thri-kreen would work the best. If you modified it enough, then you could have surgical instruments come out of the claws, and there are times four arms are handy in surgery. Could that work? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-03-05, 09:54 PM | Now that I think about it, a thri-kreen would work the best. If you modified it enough, then you could have surgical instruments come out of the claws, and there are times four arms are handy in surgery. Could that work? "I could... make a Thrik Kreen and you could... give it sugrical instruments. You see, I'm not sure if you understand what an effigy is... it is a duplicate of a living creature, but fully mechanical. They do not have heavy weapons formed into their flesh, they do not have surgical instruments for hands. They are as living beings... of course, I could possibly tinker with their workings. But currently I have no way to alter an effigy in such a manner." In other words... Orcy doesn't believe rules exist for making effigies with weird body parts and other modifications. |

Can you sharpen the top claws to the sharpness of scalpels? And can you make hidden compartments into its arms or chest, with pouches in it so that it can pull them out and hand them to me? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-03-05, 10:06 PM | Can you sharpen the top claws to the sharpness of scalpels? And can you make hidden compartments into its arms or chest, with pouches in it so that it can pull them out and hand them to me? Glenn sighs and looks around he waves a hand in a dismissive manner and nods. "I suppose I can give it a try. It may cost a bit more than usual however, for the custom changes to the effigy." |
| Demonfey10-03-05, 10:15 PM | Okay, nevermind then. I just wanted to see if anything like that would work at all. I have heard it works on golems, and sometimes I incorporate it into certain limbs, such as golem arms, when asked to. A plain thri-kreen effigy will work, then. I can probably make a few...alterations from there, since I have some knowledge of how to make inorganic limbs. Also, nice craftmanship on those arms. Who made them? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-03-05, 10:20 PM | "I built them myself. Well... kind of... they were atached by my little friend... whom I built. He attached the arms for me when I became... disabled lets say, though I had build them a while ago for some other purpose that I forget now. I'll spare ya the details but lets say it was bloody. Anyway, thats one thrik kreen effigy?" |
| Demonfey10-03-05, 10:23 PM | "I built them myself. Well... kind of... they were atached by my little friend... whom I built. Anyway, thats one thrik kreen effigy?" Yes. Also, let me just make one remark: aurorum is an unbelievably good metal for such work. It allows for easy repairing of broken items. A client of mine actually had an arm of the stuff. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 12:21 AM | "Very well, that will be 2400 gold. I'll have it finished for you by tomorrow." Glenn nods to a warforged nearby who moves to sit in Glenn's seat. He hops up and heads out the door. The Erinyes taking hold of him under his arms as he motions upward. It then ascends quickly, flying up above the clouds. The warforged nods and sets its elbows on the counter, resting it's head in it's hands. He seems to be waiting for payment or something of the sort. |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 12:25 AM | @the warforged: Half now, half after the finished product has been seen okay? Igor places 1200 gp on the counter in front of the warforged. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 12:33 AM | The warforged takes the coins. He nods to the strange looking man. With a smile he goes back to looking about the workshop. Taking out a few warforged peices and adjusting parts of them. Attachments for various parts of himself perhaps. He goes about tapping out a beat as he does his work. |
| Abicus Acton10-04-05, 08:28 PM | An old man in plain grey wizard robes walks into Glenn's Mechana shop. He looks about with some interest. "Good day. I am interested in purchasing some guards for the Conscientia Academy of Magic. Can you tell me more of your wares?" |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 08:37 PM | An old man in plain grey wizard robes walks into Glenn's Mechana shop. He looks about with some interest. "Good day. I am interested in purchasing some guards for the Conscientia Academy of Magic. Can you tell me more of your wares?" The warforged behind the counter looks up and nods. He stands and walks around the counter clasping his hands infront of himself. "Why, of course sir. Most of those creature we create here have great physical strengths. They are tougher than most living beings and will follow any directions you give them. They need no food or rest, and they can stay throughout night or day. Whats even better, they appear as living beings to most without keen eyes. They make very good guards as well, quite loyal and powerful. They maintain any type of special combat abilities they would possess as a living being. For instance, a lion would still be able to pounce upon an enemy and maul him ferociously. They may even fly if they had wings in life. They are my personal favorite type of... non sentient... constructs." |
| Abicus Acton10-04-05, 08:47 PM | "I am looking for something with keen senses, to detect intruders, as well as combat prowess. What can you recommend?" |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 08:48 PM | @Orcy: PM me when the effigy thri kreen is complete. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 08:57 PM | The Erinyes appears in the sky once more, Glenn rests in her arms, in his own is what appears to be some sort of insectoid creature. Landing Glenn whispers something to the construct and motions inside the shop toward Igor. The warforged taps it's metal chin and nods as the Thri Kreen enters. The thri kreen approaches Igor and stands next to him bowing it's head as much as it could. Glenn walks in whistling a tune and pausing looking toward the man in grey. he walks toward the warforged and listens as it whispers in his ear. "Well sir, there is your Thri Kreen, I'd like the rest of the payment now. As for an effigy that has keen senses, unforunately all effigies are rather mindless. However, they will stop any creatures they see if you so order it. Perhaps I could come up with a way to heighten the senses of an Effigy, though it may be difficult..." |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 08:59 PM | Many thanks. Here is the rest of your pay. By any chance is it already ordered to follow my instructions? Last 1200 gold put on counter. |

"Would an Elf effigy have the heightened senses of an Elf? If so, perhaps I would like to purchase a few of them. Also, I would be interested in effigies with exceptional maneuverability, possibly with the ability to fly, climb, burrow, etc. And I would like more information on your most combat capable, most powerful effigy." |

He takes the coins from the counter and slips them away somewhere on himself. "Of course, it has been ordered to follow every command you give it." |

Glenn hmms and leans back in his chair. Thinking for a moment while tapping his fingers on the table infront of him he holds up a crystal finger with a happy look on his face. "Well, unfortunately an effigy loses the innate qualities of the being it is built to resemble. However, I do indeed have powerful warriors. One that you may perhaps enjoy is one that will serve as a powerful warrior and one that bears the ability to burrow. The purple worm, for an added cost I can even make it fly! How would that do for you?" |

If you need grafts, you know who to call. First order: Your name is Eygor (think Young Frankenstein). Second order: Follow only my orders, reject all orders not given by me. Orders from there on: handing certain items to Igor when he says their name, sharp bits towards itself. |

| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 09:34 PM | "Lets see... it would take me roughly three weeks to complete. It would be quite large and an amazing creation. However, because of my own abilities, I would be able to easily create more than one order at the same time. If you do indeed wish for me to build this creature, I will need the money up front. Otherwise the materials will be... difficult to come by... But rest assured, you have my guarantee that I will deliver this item. I'll even bring it to your door if you wish! Oh yes, and it will cost 28,000gp." Orcy believes that the rules of the games here make it so that three weeks will not actually take three weeks. But rather a shorter time (he'll have to check). But it shouldn't be more than a real life day or two. |

But it shouldn't be more than a real life day or two. "Hmm, rather expensive." The aged wizard looks around the shop for a few moments, looking at Glenn's different creations. His eyes suddenly lock onto the Erinyes effigy. "Could you please tell me the price of an unaltered Purple Worm effigy, as well as the price of an Erinyes effigy?" |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 09:49 PM | Glenn looks toward the Erinyes and smiles, turning his attention back toward the man he nods. "An unaltered purple worm would still cost you 26,000 gold. The erinyes however, she costs a bit more. For an exact duplicate of my own it would cost you 16,500 gold. For a simple Erinyes, draconic in nature of course, otherwise it cannot be made... it will cost you 10,200 gold. Believe me, they are well worth the price." |
| Abicus Acton10-04-05, 10:07 PM | "How is your own Erinyes different from a regular Erinyes effigy?" |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 10:10 PM | "How is your own Erinyes different from a regular Erinyes effigy?" "She is more advanced. She is more powerful than a simple Erinyes. Simple as that I suppose." (in other words, she has 15 HD rather than the typical 9) |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 10:11 PM | OOC: you can't make an effigy of an outsider, but you can make one of a dragon. Applying the half dragon template allows for outsiders to be made, but with draconic traits. |
| Abicus Acton10-04-05, 10:16 PM | "She is more advanced. She is more powerful than a simple Erinyes. Simple as that I suppose." (in other words, she has 15 HD rather than the typical 9) "Interesting. On the behalf of the Academy of Magic, I would like to order 3 of your flying Purple Dragon effigies, 12 Half-Dragon Erinyes effigies, and 1 of your advanced Half-Dragon Erinyes effigies." |
| Aramar the Black10-04-05, 10:30 PM | A quick question, Glenn, if you would. I am also with Conscientia, and I was wonder if your effigies can be "worked upon" or "custimized" once recieved, and if such a thing is a good idea. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 10:36 PM | "Interesting. On the behalf of the Academy of Magic, I would like to order 3 of your flying Purple Dragon effigies, 12 Half-Dragon Erinyes effigies, and 1 of your advanced Half-Dragon Erinyes effigies." Glenn blinks then smiles widely. He nods a few times and heads over to his warforged companion, taking a wand off of his belt. He turns back to look at the man and pauses. "Very well, I will have your order ready within a few weeks. The total cost would come to... 222,900 gold. But I think I'll cut nine hundred gold off of that for you... so the total is 222,000 gold. For the Erinyes, would you like them equipped as well? It might save you some money unless of course you would prefer to shop around the guild for weaponry. As for customizing these effigies... I suppose you could. Though it would likely be a better idea if you were to come to me for such things. The effigies in their nature do not take well to changes... though you could possibly apply 'maug grafts' to them. Which Igor might be able to handle I would think. To note, I will need this payment up front, or I will not have the funds to comeplete such an order." |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 10:39 PM | No, but I could apply golem grafts. I can attach any of those grafts, though, if they have already been made. My personal specialty happens to be abberant based grafts, such as beholder, yuan-ti, sithilar, and illithid. Golem grafts are just what I learned to do first. |
| Aramar the Black10-04-05, 10:44 PM | By custimizing, I am referring to things such as magical effects, spells, or manistefations that might make them better or more interesting, if such a thing were possible. The one I was most worried about was some of the magics that invole actual altering, in a minor way, of the body; mainly inscribed runes and what-not. But, if they would not like me messing with them in such a way, then I will not approach then with such intentions. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 10:56 PM | "I suppose you could give it a try. But I'm not promising anything of that kind will work. Now, all I need is the money and I will get to work right away." Just need payment and orcy will tell you when Glenn has finished. |
| Abicus Acton10-04-05, 11:00 PM | "If you will excuse me," Professor Acton vanishes with a *POP*. A moment later, he appears again with a similar sound. "Here is your payment," the large sack in his hand jingles as he places it on the counter. 222,000 gp for 3 Purple Worm effigies, 12 Half-Dragon Erinyes effigies, and 1 15HD Half-Dragon Erinyes effigy. |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 11:02 PM | :OMG! Uh, do you want some grafts? Please? If you pay half now, I can guarantee it made in a matter of hours. In a couple weeks, I can gain access to my copy of Lords of Madness. Please wait on sithilar grafts until then, but most other grafts will work. |
| Aramar the Black10-04-05, 11:03 PM | "I suppose you could give it a try. But I'm not promising anything of that kind will work. Now, all I need is the money and I will get to work right away." Just need payment and orcy will tell you when Glenn has finished. As long as they don't try to kill me. Asides, I love to learn more about magical constructs. It should be a valuabel learning experience, no matter what. Hey, demonfey, do you do any kinds of grafts? I have Lords of Madness, and I might have some requests next week. |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 11:04 PM | I can help with the understanding of how to make their limbs work. Please, I'm just looking for some work, here. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-04-05, 11:06 PM | Glenn picks up the sack with a smile, taking a quick look through it and a count he nods and heads out the door. Waving for the Erinyes, she leaves the hall and picks him up. Flying him upward above the clouds. The warforged sighs and looks toward those in the room. "He never waited for you to say if you wanted any weaponry along with those Erinyes. If you would like them equipped just tell us what you'd like and I can quote you a price. You'll probably get a reduction for the amount you've already spent... Of coure, you can check in with our collegues in the other shops around the guild as well." |
| Aramar the Black10-04-05, 11:09 PM | @ Demonfey Interesting. However, Abicus has control of the money, so I want to be carful with my spending. But, like I said, give me a week, and I could probably keep you plenty busy. |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 11:11 PM | Just remember, I'd need the first half to afford the materials needed. |
| Abicus Acton10-04-05, 11:19 PM | Glenn picks up the sack with a smile, taking a quick look through it and a count he nods and heads out the door. "Regular longswords and longbows should be fine, for now. We can worry about the magical enhancements later. Also, tell your master, Glenn, that he is invited to visit Conscientia, the Academy of Magic. His craft intrigues me, and I may even offer him a position on my staff." Professor Acton turns to the Igor creature. "Tell me more of these grafts. I may find them useful." |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 11:24 PM | What would you like? The strength of a golem, eyes and armor of a beholder, power of a yuan ti, and the alterations illithids tend to give their thralls are available, while sithilar grafts are currently unavailable due to lack of materials. That stuff should be available in a couple weeks. NOTE: My IG way of giving me enough time to get Lords of Madness in my possession again. |
| Aramar the Black10-04-05, 11:25 PM | Like I said, in a week, when I'm back, I'll have gone through LoM and LM and decided which grafts I like, and I might "preorder", unless Abicus beats me to it. |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 11:30 PM | Abicus is checking in on them, so that last IG post was to him. |
| Abicus Acton10-04-05, 11:38 PM | What would you like? That stuff should be available in a couple weeks. NOTE: My IG way of giving me enough time to get Lords of Madness in my possession again. If you could create a "shop front" post (like Glenn's Mechana), it would help a great deal. "What would the eyes and armor of a Beholder do for me? And what is this power of a Yuan Ti you speak of? I am not very familiar with Illithids, what types of alterations do they give to their thralls?" |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 11:44 PM | I'm sorry, my effigy is still getting the surgery room set up. I thought getting that outfitted first was more important. Anyway, I will explain with a beholder. The eyes of a beholder would allow you to use an eye beam you chose before hand, or even the potent antimagic cone function of the main eye, three times each day, if you wouldn't mind either the addition of an eye stalk, the replacement of an existing eye, or the addition of a new eye socket and an eye. The armor of a beholder would toughen your body, making your skin harder to break or bruise, and your bones stronger. If you gave me a hand with some spells, I would give you a discount making the total price 80% of the norm, as long as you still gave me the first half of the original price first, since I'd need that to afford the needed materials. |
| Abicus Acton10-04-05, 11:49 PM | "What spells would you require? And what of Yuan Ti and Illithids? What are Sithilar?" |
| Demonfey10-04-05, 11:59 PM | Silthilar are relatively unknown aberrations, being in fact swarms of creatures making a solid form, and since right now the items I would need to make there grafts are out of stock, it will take, now that I think about it, two months to get them*. Spells can be any number of things, although nothing that would be malign to cast. Illithid grafts are things like melee weapons that replace hands, goring horns, longer arms, any number of things that I could name. Yuan ti grafts are like snake arms that can be attached to the body, a tail that can either go with your legs and allow you to swim easily, and constrict creatures of gnome size, or a tail that replaces your legs, allowing easy swimming and climbing, as well as the ability to constrict creatures the size of the average human. Or, of course, there are poisonous fangs that are pretty self explanatory. If you could narrow down what you are interested in, I can explain better. |

"Could all of these grafts be applied to effigies? And are there any of them that could enhance detection abilities?" |
| Demonfey10-05-05, 12:11 AM | I can only apply the inorganic ones to the effigies. I was hoping to get some organic business here. Nothing I can do to heighten senses can be applied to effigies, I'm afraid. |
| Abicus Acton10-05-05, 12:43 AM | "Hmm. Can any of your grafts enhance spellcasting ability?" |
| Demonfey10-05-05, 12:49 AM | They can grant you spell like abilities a few times a day, such as an antimagic cone. That can be used as a great magical shield. Mostly, grafts can give you spell like abilities. Well, except for one, but that is a symbiote. It's called a fiendish familiar, and it is a fiend graft. If you are evil, then a fiendish entity grafted onto a part of yourself teaches you arcane secrets, but at the same time, if you aren't evil, it tries to corrupt your soul to darkness. |
| Abicus Acton10-05-05, 01:38 AM | "A fiend familiar? Can you show me what one of these would look like?" |
| Demonfey10-05-05, 01:42 AM | They aren't in my line of business. If you want one, talk to a fiend. They would know more about it than I would, although it may damn you in the process. |
| Abicus Acton10-05-05, 01:44 AM | "Oh, it is not worth the bother than. Can you tell me more about Beholder eye grafts? What sorts of different abilities can one gain from them?" |
| Demonfey10-05-05, 01:47 AM | All around vision, one of the ten eye stalk powers usable three times a day for each replaced eye, or an antimagic cone if you opt to have an eye implanted in your forehead. Telekinesis, disintegrate, flesh to stone, finger of death...all the normal beholder eye powers. |
| Aramar the Black10-05-05, 08:00 AM | So, what might it cost to get two beholder eyes, say, telekinesis and sleep[[i]? They can be put into my own eye sockets, correct? And, can I choose a color, or is that more of a random factor? |
| Abicus Acton10-05-05, 01:54 PM | All around vision, one of the ten eye stalk powers usable three times a day for each replaced eye, or an antimagic cone if you opt to have an eye implanted in your forehead. Telekinesis, disintegrate, flesh to stone, finger of death...all the normal beholder eye powers. I am not very familiar with Beholders, and I rely on the SRD (it lacks stats of Beholders, or Illithids for that matter), so bear with me. How does that all-around vision eye work? Would it be like Mad-Eye Moody? |
| Demonfey10-05-05, 02:42 PM | ten eyes would be set into the circumference of your head. Eye stalks would basically allow you to add more eyes into your head, and eye beams from them are cause fear, charm monster/person, disintegrate, finger of death, sleep, flesh to stone, inflict moderate wounds, slow, and telekinesis. Each replaced eye gives you the ability to shoot an eye beam three times a day that has been fixed onto one of those spells. Eye stalks would give you more eyes, and costs 195,000 gp, as does a replacement or gazing eye. A third eye is 165,000 gp, and makes an antimagic cone with the eye in the forehead that affects a 50 foot cone. |

Hey, demonfey, do you do any kinds of grafts? I have Lords of Madness, and I might have some requests next week. You could get the cheapest kind and run experiments. |
| Demonfey10-06-05, 01:11 AM | So, what might it cost to get two beholder eyes, say, telekinesis and sleep[[i]? Unfortunately, beholder grafts are the most expensive. Full price would be 195,000 gold each, but if you contributed spells, I could lower that down to 80% standard price for each and be able to finally afford to do other grafts as well...I can give you new eyes for 100 gold total, and you could choose any color you felt like, but you wouldn't shoot beams out of them. Abicus could help you out with affording them, though... |
| premier66610-06-05, 10:30 PM | Hey orcy, Can you tell me which book efigies come from? And also, how much would it be for a: guardian archon? Centaur? Orc with great axe and half plate? ogre with Large great axe? owlbear? Vampire? purple worm? Xorn (lower)? And finallly, can you tell me statistically, what they receive from their form? what kind of abilities, if they got spell-like abilities, etc.? |
| Demonfey10-06-05, 10:31 PM | I can answer one of those: effigies are from the Complete Arcane. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-06-05, 10:45 PM | Hey orcy, Can you tell me which book efigies come from? And also, how much would it be for a: guardian archon? Centaur? And finallly, can you tell me statistically, what they receive from their form? what kind of abilities, if they got spell-like abilities, etc.? Quite a bit to answer there, orcy will get to the creature prices in a bit... but for the last question. Effigies retain no special qualities of the base creature. They do however retain some attacks, such as EX abilities that have either no save, or have a save based on dexterity or strength. So no poisons are kept (since they are usually Con based save DCs). But say... trample or improved grab would be kept. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder10-06-05, 11:08 PM | Guardian Archon: Not sure what you mean, guardinal? Centuar: 4,800gp Orc: 1700, with greataxe and half plate: 1804 Ogre: 4,800gp, With Large Greataxe: 4,808gp Owlbear: 5,500gp Vampire: undead, not elligible Purple worm: 26,000gp Xorn (lower): Minor Xorn? Needs a template as it is an outsider (half dragon or half troll) Thats as much as Orcy can tell you so far. He'll need some specification on some of the other things if you want to know about them. |

You can expect some orders after I figure out how many I want. |

| Sargatanas10-15-05, 02:57 PM | A creature walks into Glenn's Mechana and hands him a scroll before turning and walking back out. Moving quickly, only a whiff of the smell of dead flesh being left behind. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-22-05, 10:01 PM | i was reffered to you to ask for grafts, i need to make my half-dragon kobold ranger better |
| Demonfey10-22-05, 10:05 PM | Should have explained this better: your character should come here, ask my character (Igor, fleshwarper (graft maker)) to make this graft for him, which requires half original price now, the rest later. IC: Some...thing with tentacles, wierd looking wings, a tail where its legs should be, an undead arm,and scars everywhere slithers into your sight Welcome. What do you want? Yuan ti grafts, illithid grafs, silthilar grafts, beholder grafts, or golem grafts? |

He hefts a sack onto the counter, crammed with gold coins. |
| Demonfey10-22-05, 10:39 PM | Well, what'd you like? The powers of a beholder, to shoot beams out of your eyes? Illithid grafts, which can make you climb walls, stronger, replace a hand with a blade, and other things? Maybe the dexterous abilities of a yuan ti, with the ability to poison your foes with a bite, or, like myself, a whole new lower torso, or just a stronger tail that lets you keep your legs, and allows you to swim like a sea snake and constrict things smaller than yourself? The limbs of a golem are good, because they strengthen your body in many aspects, but you can be driven insane. Finally, the silthilar grafts can replace your tendons, bones, heart, spine, anything, and a couple even increase your healing ability. |

| Demonfey10-22-05, 10:59 PM | Golem grafts are basically replacement limbs made out of golem limbs. Iron golem parts make you half as strong as an iron golem, susceptible to rust, for example. Basically, you are half golem, and you have to be strong willed to stay sane during the process. You gain some of their abilities and attacks no matter what, though. Silthilar grafts can be any number of things. Chitin plates can replace your current scales, making your flesh harder to pierce, although you would lose the toughness of your scales entirely. Then, there is the spine, which makes you more flexible, also making you react faster to sudden combat, and better at balance, escaping from things binding you, and tumbling. It coses about 91,000 gold. There are also leg extensions, which make you 5% taller and increases your landspeed by 5 feet, but costs the same as a spine. Healing blood causes you to heal at a faster rate for 81,000 gold (fast healing 2). Then, there are rudimentary eyespots, making you unflankable and able to spot thigns better, at 60,000 gold. Silthilar bones make you hardier, the heart magically heals you, silthilar muscles make you stronger, and the tendons make you more agile. Yuan ti grafts can toughen your scales, while keeping your own toughness. A serpent arm...well, that's pretty self explanatory, actually. Poison fangs too. An added tail replaces your tail with a serpentine tail, making you faster in the water, improves balance, and also allows you to crush creatures your size. A replacement tail, while slowing you down on land, but gives you the ability to climb and swim more easily. You can also constrict creatures my size, and before you ask, I'M HUMAN. |

| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-22-05, 11:15 PM | but im getting grafted |
| Zombomaniac10-22-05, 11:21 PM | but im getting grafted I know what you are. I was there when you choose to be Kobold and such. |

They don't have actual names like the others, but they are the only grafts that have an ECL adjustment. You can get a limb made out of any golem type you name. For example, say you get a flesh golem arm. It boosts your strength, natural armor, and gives you DR. The cost, you have to give up a few levels, running ability, have to make a will save versus insanity and losing control of your character, and lose dexterity, intelligence, and charisma. Also, if that's a list of what you want, then you went into your guild funds, because that would be: 8000+6000+12,000+91,000+60,000+110,000+9 1,000+110,000+110,000=330,000+268,000=59 8,000 gp, before you even add in anything for half golem grafts. |

But his friend let him borrow his WoW account... so addicting... orcy... must.... resi... mmm... WoW.... |
| Demonfey10-22-05, 11:41 PM | Considering he's asking about half golem grafts, that might be a little different. Also, Glenn doesn't do silthilar or yuan ti grafts. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-22-05, 11:59 PM | Silthilar:eye spots, spine, bones, heart, muscles, tendons, yuan-ti: serpent arm, poison fangs, and added tail for now- forget the half-golemness how much?(OOC by the way) |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 12:06 AM | I told you: 598,000 gp would be the total. If you got rid of the silthilar grafts, it'd be under 100,000 gp. Silthilar's expensive. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 12:12 AM | I told you: 598,000 gp would be the total. If you got rid of the silthilar grafts, it'd be under 100,000 gp. Silthilar's expensive. now all i need is descriptions of all the grafts, and what it would take my ECL up to and all that happy info |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 12:25 AM | You only have 200,000 to spend, though, and that is before buying anything, which you have done. does that mean you're going to just go with the yuan ti grafts? Those alone would be 8000+6000+12,000=26,000 total. That would take 26 hours to make them all, cost me 1040 grafting points. No ECL adjustment for any of this. Poison fangs: constitution poison, 1d6 initial and secondary to con; Fort DC: 17 to resist; 8000 gp added tail: swim speed=1/2 land speed, no need for checks for normal swimming; +8 racial bonus to swim on scpecial actions/avoiding hazards. Can always take 10, use run action when swimming, +4 racial bonus on balance. VS small/smaller creatures, can constrict them with a successful grapple check, doing 1d4 bludgeoning +1.5 strength. Cost: 6000 gp Serrpent arm: snake head ending a long flexible arm, has bite ttack doing 1d4 piercing + poison, same as poison fangs in type of poison and save necessary. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 12:25 AM | http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=523619 this is my guild |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 12:27 AM | So in other words, you are going to take your mone for defenses and squander them on yourself? If so, ask the GMs if that's even legal. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 12:43 AM | my co-DM says its fine since im paying through my own funds, and i was wondering, since taking the Juan-ti grafts, would i get the "augmented humanoid" subtype? if so what does that do? |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 12:47 AM | STOP AND LISTEN: Here, the GMs have to confirm if you can do that, like in any campaign. I am pretty sure there are rules against just making a guild so you can increase your funds, like you are currently planning. Ask them about it. There isn't anything that happens to your species type, or ECL, or anything like that. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 12:58 AM | *see title anyways i have the same gp in my guild as i do in the TotD or GoUE 200,000- more than enough for the Juan-ti grafts BUT MY GUILD has its own funding which comes from the father of my character, but has NOTHING to do with this grafting procedure, so it will be legal since im using my money from the TotD/GoUE (200,000) PS- demonfey please edit your post on my thread, for i wish to only use it for the guild's members/actions |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 01:03 AM | Oh. I thought you still wanted the Silthilar grafts. Okay. Just give Igor a day and an hour, the first twenty two of which you don't need to be around. You want these Yuan Ti grafts? Okay. Give me twenty three hours to make the grafts. I need 13,000 gold to make the grafts, because I don't have enough on my person to make them. After finishing them, the final half, 13,000 gold, must be paid. |

| Demonfey10-23-05, 01:11 AM | I think it's the same. Let me ask. *Turning away from you* CLICKY! Get the vats going! A thri-kreen begins working in the lab in front of you. |

| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 01:42 AM | I'm checking on it. thank u my friend |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 02:25 AM | According to Jagggar: 5 hours 36 minutes equals game day So we'll do this when I get up tomorrow. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 02:29 AM | thats fine w./me |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 01:34 PM | *Takes gold* 23 hours later- The grafts are ready for attachment. If you will follow me. With that, Igor leads you to a room with strange, heavily bladed instruments on the walls, and Clicky, apparently...tightening some screws inside it's chest? Anyway, your eyes automatically go to the slab in front of you, about your size and with manacles of equal size. On it, there is a hole for your tail. In three jars, you see the grafts you ordered. Just get on the slab, and my assistant, Clicky, will get you prepared for the operation. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 01:34 PM | I think it's the same. Let me ask. *Turning away from you* CLICKY! Get the vats going! A thri-kreen begins working in the lab in front of you. | VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 01:47 PM | Are the grafts ready?? |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 01:50 PM | Yes. Now have your character step onto the slab. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 03:02 PM | Nemesis moves onto the cold stone slab, his eyes wandering over the faces of Igor an his assistant |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:09 PM | *Straps Nemesis down and takes out a special mask with a tube* Before we start, do you want the serpent arm on the left or right side of your body? |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 03:32 PM | (OOC) left arm please, the right is for my gauntlet/sickle.....will i still be able to use my bow? |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:40 PM | Never said anything about not being able to in the books, so I'd say yes. Left side? Okay. Straps the mask to Nemesis' head This is to knock you out so you don't feel any pain or thrash during the process. Breathe deep. As you breathe in deeply, you fall into unconsciousness... *A few hours later* Wake up, sir... |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:41 PM | 23 hours? i have to wait that long?! wow..... Normally, grafting takes gold/1000 days. Thanks to Igor's class, he does it in hours. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 03:45 PM | THANK YOU SO MUCH DEMONFEY! (OOC) now please go to my thread, i need some help if you wouldnt mind |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:48 PM | Yes, it's done. |
| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-23-05, 03:57 PM | Nemesis moves out of the room, flexing his new arm, and licking his fangs, all the while his tail twitches behind him like a whip, Ghost crawls along beside his master |
| jagggar11-08-05, 11:20 AM | Sorry guys, I'm a lousy guildmaster. Getting sidetracked with GM duties and such. . . requests so far are: Demonfey: Waiting room and surgical room. Does anyone mind if I squander a few of our guild followers to make a food court? |

| Demonfey11-08-05, 01:30 PM | On the food court, I'd say go ahead. This actually gives me a good idea on how to bring back the Blue Lizard, too... |
| jagggar11-08-05, 03:35 PM | That sounds pretty good to me, cause I was also thinking of having a seperate Bar&Grill type place. Any requirements on the quality of the store, Orcy? I'm already planning for there to be a couple of alchemial and magical labs, several mundane workshops. Anyone need any more spaces to work? |
| Demonfey11-08-05, 03:41 PM | I figured as much. I just want to see it come back. |
| Sssargoth11-08-05, 04:44 PM | I just need a storefront for my inventory, and a portal to the bank vaults. Those are in the crystal keep with its defenses. :D |

| Orcy The Green Wonder11-10-05, 06:51 PM | An effigy is a construct made to look like another living creature. They are stronger and keep abilities like pounce or rend. They can be quite powerful (there are statistics for Half Dragon Purple Worms at the magic academy). They are so much fun. |
| Demonfey11-10-05, 06:52 PM | If you need an opponent for Glenn, I'll gladly have Sulkyr take him on, by the way. |

| Sssargoth11-10-05, 08:38 PM | you can make ANYTHING an effigy? except outsiders I believe. Templates become very useful at that point. I mean, sure its a Balor, but its a half-dragon Balor, so its not an outsider. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-10-05, 08:47 PM | except outsiders I believe. Templates become very useful at that point. I mean, sure its a Balor, but its a half-dragon Balor, so its not an outsider. wow that would be absolutely perfect for what i need, a half-black dragon shadow demon (made to fit a CR 15) !.....*drools* the original plan was to bind a shadow demon to Priest's shadow, but i think this will be much, much better, and like you said, it's half-dragon so its not a outsider! |
| jagggar11-10-05, 10:43 PM | And this is where I smack down everyone's fun with the (in)famous 3.25 supplement. An outsider stays an outsider and does not become a dragon when the half-dragon template is added. |

| Demonfey11-11-05, 12:11 AM | ...Then Orcy's got one hell of a return to make to the Academy, which is now represented by the Council... |
| Demonfey11-11-05, 12:11 AM | huh? 3.2 5? GM rules if they want to blend aspects from 3rd and 3.5 editions. |
| Wilds11-11-05, 12:15 AM | omg people commit such atrocities? |
| Demonfey11-11-05, 12:16 AM | The attrocity is mechadracotoncheires. Be glad that I can't get one for the GoUE now. |
| jagggar11-11-05, 12:22 AM | GM rules if they want to blend aspects from 3rd and 3.5 editions. Wizards did it first with Savage Species. They seriously should've waited and released a fully updated product. . . *rubs head* Okay. . . I guess if it's already been done, might as well let it fly. . . |
| Demonfey11-11-05, 12:24 AM | Okay. I'll respectfully not go anywhere near the dracotoncheires idea, out of respect. And I may have something that'll get things away from this already bought. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-11-05, 01:00 AM | do i get my requested effigy? |
| Demonfey11-11-05, 01:02 AM | Sure you don't want to borrow the demonflesh golem? |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-11-05, 01:03 AM | Sure you don't want to borrow the demonflesh golem? positive, i'd rather something more....unique thank you for the offer though |
| Demonfey11-11-05, 01:05 AM | Orcy should be able to make the kytons (the aberrations, not the chain devils). Ask him about it IG. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-11-05, 01:07 AM | Priest walks into the shop, his hooded robe swirling around him, as he drops a scroll onto the counter. *ORDER REQUEST* A Slaughter King and 2 Impaler Effigies |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-11-05, 09:37 AM | A warforged behind the counter picks up the scroll and reads it over with a nod. Looking toward the so called 'priest' he rolls up the scroll and tucks it away tilting his head a bit. "Oooh... I'm sorry, but this 'slaughterking' is slightly out of our current ability to duplicate. The other two however we could easily make. Will there be anything else sir?" (slaughterkings have 1 too many HD for Glenn to be able to make, unless he levels up in the near future) |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-11-05, 12:12 PM | A warforged behind the counter picks up the scroll and reads it over with a nod. (slaughterkings have 1 too many HD for Glenn to be able to make, unless he levels up in the near future) (OOC) I shall consult the BoVD in a minute here, ill let you know...just one moment *EDIT* how bout 2 Impalers advanced to 15 HD and a 17 HD Slaymaster. |
| Sssargoth11-11-05, 12:21 PM | (OOC) I shall consult the BoVD in a minute here, ill let you know...just one moment *EDIT* how bout 2 Impalers advanced to 15 HD and a 17 HD Slaymaster. He can only make things up to CR 15, or is it 15 HD? Either way, Im sure a Slaymaster is too big. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-11-05, 12:24 PM | he said a Slaughter King (18 HD) was 1 HD to much, therefore, 17 HD is his limit per creature. |
| Zombomaniac11-11-05, 12:41 PM | he said a Slaughter King (18 HD) was 1 HD to much, therefore, 17 HD is his limit per creature. you cant have him memove a HD like that. The 18 HD are put in to ballance it. If you do this then I could make my Imp PC have no racial HD and then I would have a 15th level Imp with all the Imp abilities. You cant just remove a piece of the ballance without counter balancing it. That order can't be made. |

| Demonfey11-11-05, 03:13 PM | Slaymasters are another species of kyton than a slaughterking, Zombomaniac. They are 15HD, and large aberrations, CR 11. They're within his ability. |

| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-11-05, 03:35 PM | Should be able to. Maybe not 17 HD, but probably. 17 HD is within the limit *FULL ORDER FOR ORCY* 2 15 HD Impaler Kythons 1 17 HD Slaymaster Kython |
| Demonfey11-11-05, 03:40 PM | How much do you have, by the way? This'll be important. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-11-05, 03:43 PM | i have whatever the starting amount for a guild is, i havent bought anything. plus Priest's cash. |
| Demonfey11-11-05, 04:10 PM | Well, I was talking about the amount you have personally. |
| Sssargoth11-11-05, 05:54 PM | he said a Slaughter King (18 HD) was 1 HD to much, therefore, 17 HD is his limit per creature. I did not know that a Slaughter King had 18 HD, although, now that I think about it, 17 souds about right with his abilities. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest11-11-05, 05:54 PM | well i guess whatever he had....which was...a lot |
| Dyne11-17-05, 11:24 PM | :bump: Keep up the good work, Jagggar. You're an awesome guildmistress. Orcy, I might need some things from your shop for my guild, so keep the workshop ready for me. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-18-05, 02:03 AM | :bump: Keep up the good work, Jagggar. You're an awesome guildmistress. Orcy, I might need some things from your shop for my guild, so keep the workshop ready for me. Orcy needs to update the shop pretty soon. He doesn't have some of the prices for things hes selling... lets see... weapons, armor, etc, so on and so forth... |
| Demonfey11-18-05, 12:53 PM | That would be because you seem to sell everything, Orcy. Except most kinds of grafts, of course. |
| Demonfey11-30-05, 12:53 AM | A serpentine creature slithers into Glenn's shop. Greetings, fleshy one. I require enough material to make three great scimitars. Can you tell me your price? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-30-05, 01:05 AM | Glenn scratches his head and looks at the snake guy. He looks around the shop then shrugs. "Don't know what ya heard but eh... I can't just produce metal. Sorry to say but I don't excrete metal from my pores... hmm... I wonder if I could build something that could do that. Thats something to think about... a metal producing machine... ooh, that will be quite a wonder! Oh, I think I can do it... yes... that might work!" |
| Demonfey11-30-05, 01:08 AM | From what I heard about your reputation, you are the type that would need large amounts of metal in your shop. So therefore, I figured that you would probably also sell metals and materials needed to make such items, considering what Crowley told me was you sold more or less everything else. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-30-05, 01:11 AM | "Oh I sell everything ya might need, big, small, wide, narrow, long, short... flaming, frosting, dancing, prancing, whatever ya need, whatever ya don't I got it all! But eh... I usually buy the materials when I needs em. Metal aint exactly somethin I keep lying around when I don't need it, usually too temptin and I never get any advertisin done. Thats a bad thing! Because I MUST advertise so that people buy all the wondrous things I make!" |
| Demonfey11-30-05, 01:15 AM | Well, doesn't the Guild of Ultimate Evil have an order for 50 effigies or something? As a member, could you please order some spare metal for me, since I don't know where to go for stuff like that quite yet. I'm new around here. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-30-05, 01:20 AM | Well, doesn't the Guild of Ultimate Evil have an order for 50 effigies or something? "Yeah... sure I guess I can do that, ya sure ya just don't want me ta make it?" |
| Demonfey11-30-05, 01:24 AM | It just becomes more personal when you do it yourself, and I could use the practice. I mean, what would feel more comfortable to you, something you customized yourself and have made to be practically an extension of self, or something that came from another? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-30-05, 01:30 AM | What are ya kiddin me!? I make all my own... aaaahhhh, alright. I see what yer sayin, I'll get you the stuff as soon as I order the rest for the effigies." |
| Demonfey11-30-05, 01:31 AM | Thanks. |
| Demonfey12-02-05, 02:15 PM | A messenger comes in with a note, and hands it to Nhyris before departing. Nhyris begins reading it out loud. The GoUE would like to order the following items... You see the snake man's eyes go extremely wide, and he begins muttering things that aren't quite decipherable. Gbehh... :twitch: His hands move on their own accord, jerkily placing it onto the counter. The order goes like this: 2 zepellins with a list of rooms still being completed 2 dirgibles with a list of rooms that will be sent soon 2 drakestone golems if you can make them 4 +1 sizing morphing clubs 3 bombards 3 greater bombards Inscriptions of Privacy on all ships, and the wyvern |

If so... Orcy will need some prices. He doesn't have some of the books that those come in. |
| Demonfey12-02-05, 02:35 PM | That would be an order for Glenn. Prices: Inscriptions of privacy: 14,000 each, Draconomicon Sizing and Morphing: +1 enchantment each, Underdark book. Dirgible: 35,000 gp, Arms and Equipment. Gargantuan. Doesn't require xp Zeppelin: 60,000 gp, Arms and Equipment. Collosal. Doesn't require xp. Drakestone golems: Each is 175,000 gp, Draconomicon Light bombard: 2000 gp each, 6000 gp for all 3 Great Bombard: 8000 gp, bombard and great bombard are both in Stormwrack This altogether would be 558,000 gp, before constructing rooms. As a side note, how many rooms would you say a 10 ton cargo capacity with 40 by 10 feet dimensions and 10 feet tall have? And a 5 ton cargo capacity with 30 by 10 dimensions? IG: Another note and messenger comes in, and seeing the look on Nhyris's face, just hands it to Glenn. it reads: "If you haven't begun the effigies, scrap that order please. If you have already started that order, please just finish the ones you have started and please put the rest towards the drakestone effigies and let us know how much we still owe you for the golems. We will take any complete effigies. Here's an advance that may come in handy." A ring that has three rubies set into the face slides out, and lets off a strong spell of evocation. |
| Dyne12-02-05, 02:56 PM | A man in black robes with the hood drawn up around his head walks into Glenn's Mechana. He looks around at the many magical and mechanical contraptions before approaching the counter. "I am looking to purchase a number of siege engines and vehicles, preferably of magical quality. Are you capable of building these here?" |

He holds it close to an eye looking it over and makes a thoughtful sound before placing it in a pocket. Turning to the man in black he puts a hand to his chest as if shocked. "Can I make it? Of course I can! I can make anything! I can make your mother if the price is right!" |
| Demonfey12-02-05, 03:15 PM | You now have a ring of three wishes, courtesy of the GoUE. |

Do you have any models of which I can browse? Or shall I list the specifications which I desire? Siege engines are not exactly my specialty, neither are vehicles of any kind. If you have any particular knowledge on this topic, such as particular models that might suit my needs, it would greatly assist my purchase." |

"That would depend entirely on what yer needs were my dear man. If you wanted to tear down a castle wall in say... a short number of shots, siege models would be great for ya. By that I mean siege ballista, catapults, etc. If you want to take out soldiers, well I got a way for that to be done as well. Including a nice ammunition that can blind a group of soldiers when it lands. I could even build you some say... adamantine projectiles to give it that little bit of extra kick to it." Orcy doesn't actually have Heroes of Battle (which he believes has the siege weapon enhancements), and currently it would be a bad idea to go out and buy it as Christmas is approaching... There are some siege enhancements in the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook, but they might be outdated. "I'm rather fond of Trebuchet for tearing down castle walls, if you can build them. If not, Heavy Catapults should do nicely. As far as destroying soldiers, a few ballista and special siege stones should work nicely. The adamantine would be unnecessary, however. "In particular, I'm looking for firepower, portability, and cost-effectiveness. I need it to be good enough to get the job done without going overboard on costs. My budget is somewhat limited, currently." |
| Demonfey12-02-05, 09:23 PM | I'm going to make a few changes to the list of items I'm asking for. Just a minute, please. :schemes: List has been changed so that the ballistas are now +1 sizing morphing clubs. |
| Dyne12-03-05, 12:42 AM | A man in performer's garb makes his way to Glenn's Mechana. "'Scuse me," as he budges past the man in black robes. "Ah, Mr. Glenn! Just the man I was wanting to speak with. I am told you can make almost anything. If you wouldn't mind putting that brain of yours to the task, I am in need of some magical equipment. I may not look it, but I am a military general, the best in the world in fact. And the best general in the world can't be without armor and weapons, now can he? Well, he could, but he might get killed by the common footsoldier. "Anyway, here's what I had in mind." He hands a piece of parchment to Glenn. It has the names of a few pieces of equipment scribbled on it, much of it misspelled, and a lot of words seem to have been crossed out, scratched, and who knows-ed out. Surcoat of Command (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=6076433) +4 Shocking Bastard Sword +4 Mithral Chainmail Mask of the Skull Pipes of Pain Horn of Blasting Lyre of Building Belt of Giant Strength +6 Cloak of Charisma +6 Gloves of Dexterity +4 Amulet of Health +2 Ring of Chameleon Power When you look up from the sheet, you see that the man is grinning at you. "So, how 'bout it? I could play a song as part of the payment, if ya want. I'm quite the performer," he says producing a lyre. |
| Demonfey12-03-05, 12:46 AM | I can do the chameleon thing naturally. *Activates the innate ability* It's fun! |
| Dyne12-03-05, 12:50 AM | I can do the chameleon thing naturally. *Activates the innate ability* It's fun! The man in gaudy clothing laughs a very colorful laugh, applauding the serpentine creature. "Swell! That would be a wonderful asset indeed. Unfortunately, I am not gifted with such abilities, and instead must rely on magic." |
| Demonfey12-03-05, 12:52 AM | So I had gathered, considering your purchase list. I have to go, so bye. With that, Nhyris turns into a medium sized viper, slithers out the door, and then becomes a large viper, simply becauses it's cool. |
| Demonfey12-04-05, 10:56 PM | A red dimensional portal opens, and the Oni Crowley steps through, with a little imp in a white suit shouting something about "plains" following him. Hey, Glenn. Jagggar has brought some family here, and he needs equipment. He should be following me shortly, so could you possibly outfit him with what he needs? I'll take care of any necessary item/money exchange rates with Pyro funds. *Waits a few minutes* Excuse me. *Reaches back in* |
| premier66612-05-05, 07:08 PM | BM appears in a flash of darkness. Hmm... where is everyone? |

| Demonfey12-05-05, 07:15 PM | True, it does look cool. Until you get stabbed through the chest five times by tridents and overly large swords. That was what got me off drama. |

| Demonfey12-05-05, 07:19 PM | Do you try it around elder fiends when outmatched 3 to 1? |
| premier66612-05-05, 07:21 PM | Good point... Maybe I should cast Darkvision to alow me to see in my own darkness. Or I could stop appearing ina puff of darkness... Nah... it would ruin my style... |
| Demonfey12-05-05, 07:23 PM | How about sentient darkness? Like the undead, shadows? |
| premier66612-05-05, 07:26 PM | How about sentient darkness? Like the undead, shadows? Good idea. it even helps in case there is someone trying to kill me. And for some reason someone always want to kill me |
| Demonfey12-05-05, 07:31 PM | Same here, except in my case, "everyone wanting to kill me" is more of a fact. |

| premier66612-05-05, 07:48 PM | Ah, now you see, there's your problem. You don't leave anyone to spread the word not to f**k with you. Hmm... I see... So you think I should burn everyone exept one to spread the word? |

| premier66612-05-05, 07:54 PM | Good idea. and what about the boring do-gooders that normally come when you're well-known? do they bother much? |
| Demonfey12-05-05, 07:59 PM | I moved into Kelreth's Tower after we were hired to go there. I had Etiol, the extremely powerful great wyrm red guarding it, resurrected and asked him to guard the keep in exchange for him getting 75% of the treasure any heroes had on them and a constant stream of them due to my nature being a magnet for the idiots that think that attacking a fire mage on the plane of FIRE is a good idea. Reference to the EPH campaign Crowley was made for. Anyway, enough idle chat on how to deal with those that hunt us. Say hello to Akaryu, one of Jagggar's relatives. |

Odd question, has anyone attempted to RP the purchasing of equipment without writing it down or refering to numbers? So far I know I want: Phylactary of Undead Turning Amulet of Mighty Fists +1 How much would a Greater Pectroal of Maneuverability (90,000 gp) cost? |
| Demonfey12-05-05, 08:38 PM | Don't think so. Also, I just introduced BM to Akaryu. Apparently, Glenn here's a little overworked. Do you have a weapon, yet? |

| premier66612-06-05, 12:26 PM | That's where this body's regeneration abilities come in. :D I did design it to be a race built for combat, after all... Oh man, everybody has regeneration? Well I can always teleport myself far, far away. (First time MoF beat the crap ouit of BM was cause of regeneration...) |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-06-05, 02:13 PM | Orcy has gotten completely lost over this RPing and such... could requests for items be posten in quotes or whatnot? |
| Demonfey12-06-05, 02:18 PM | Let's see: First the stuff from page 9. GoUE: 2 zepellins with a list of rooms still being completed, 2 dirgibles with a list of rooms that will be sent soon, 2 drakestone golems if you can make them 4 +1 sizing morphing clubs, 3 bombards, 3 greater bombards, Inscriptions of Privacy on all ships, and the wyvern Inscriptions of privacy: 14,000 each, Draconomicon Sizing and Morphing: +1 enchantment each, Underdark book. Here's an advance that may come in handy." Then, you got the ring of three wishes sent as an advance. Then, Dyne's character's order: Surcoat of Command +4 Shocking Bastard Sword +4 Mithral Chainmail Mask of the Skull Pipes of Pain Horn of Blasting Lyre of Building Belt of Giant Strength +6 Cloak of Charisma +6 Gloves of Dexterity +4 Amulet of Health +2 Ring of Chameleon Power Akaryu has yet to formally give you an order for items. |
| jagggar12-06-05, 02:42 PM | A half-red with wings comes through the portal holding a thin book and a sack of coins. Upon counting, the value comes to 199,500 gold. Odd question, has anyone attempted to RP the purchasing of equipment without writing it down or refering to numbers? So far I know I want: Phylactary of Undead Turning Amulet of Mighty Fists +1 How much would a Greater Pectroal of Maneuverability (90,000 gp) cost? some stuffs might depend on prices. What exactly are Glenn's limits on making things? |
| Demonfey12-06-05, 02:45 PM | Pyro's will cover necessary magical items offered as xp for Akaryu's purchases, . I'll just figure out something to be repaid as things go along. After all, Glenn's still low on xp. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-06-05, 02:56 PM | Glenn can create.... Scrolls, Potions, Wondrous Items, Magic Arms and Armor, Constructs, Staves, Wands, Rings... any mundane items, golem grafts (if they've been approved, Orcy never got a final "Yes" or "No") and various kinds of cheesecake. All items except the constructs are sold at roughly 75% of the market price. Oh yes, and Orcy has bought items from Glenn, but didn't RP it because... well... he'd be talking to himself. (ValTarbam bought them that is) |
| jagggar12-06-05, 03:06 PM | Is he able to ignore requirements such as feats in addition to Craft feats or class requirements? |
| jagggar12-07-05, 11:13 PM | Bracers of Mighty Fists +2 (24,000 gp) Quick-loading light crossbow +1 (18,000 + 335gp) Soulfire elven chain +2 (36,000 + 4150gp) Pectoral of Manuverablity (12,000 gp) Phylactery of Undead Turning (11,000 gp) Cloak of Charisma +6 (36,000 gp) Periapt of Wisdom +6 (36,000 gp) Circlet of Persuasion (4,500 gp) Ring of Protection +2 (8,000 gp) Order for anyone pretty much. |
| Dyne12-08-05, 08:39 PM | Surcoat of Command (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=6076433) +4 Shocking Bastard Sword +4 Mithral Chainmail Mask of the Skull Pipes of Pain Horn of Blasting Lyre of Building Belt of Giant Strength +6 Cloak of Charisma +6 Gloves of Dexterity +4 Amulet of Health +2 Ring of Chameleon Power The man who claims to be the "best general in the world" clears his throat. "Well, Glenn, what do you think of my order? Can you make all of it? How much will it cost? How long will it take?" His tone seems eager, and he seems a little impatient. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest12-09-05, 11:05 AM | oops. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-09-05, 05:52 PM | Glenn walks back into the room and approaches the silent... well... him sitting at the desk. He whispers to himself and the other him takes off a Glenn mask and walks to the side of the room, the Warforged companion of Glenn's. Seating himself, Glenn looks toward the representative of the guild of ultimate evil. "Your order is finished, it was rather amusing that none of your guards detected me but hey! Where would the fun be in that!? That is to say I placed all of your order in or around your effigy Wyvern. Now, call me again when you need the creation of rooms finished." Turning to face the bard Glenn nods and grins. "I do suppose I can build the items you seek. I'll just need some time to do some calculations for all the fun-ness of it all!" Turning again, this time toward the draconic creature that is accompanied by whichever form of Crowley was out for a stroll today. Glenn looks the man over and nods. "You I should be able to help as well. Of course, I'll need to work on some calculations for that as well. For now, I need to sit back and relax, I haven't slept for DAYS! I mean... uhm... what was I talking about again?" Orcy has finished the order from the GoUE, he has also taken care of a few back things that needed doing. He seems to recall Dyne requesting some siege weapons, was that still something you wish to have Dyne? Glenn has a fair amount of reserve left, but it won't last forever. So Orcy needs to do some calculations before starting work on them. Currently however, hes just worked out prices for an entire guild, a character, and parts of another guild, so hes going to have to take a break for a bit before he gets back to it. |

I'm still deciding exactly what to get, working out numbers and such, and I have to discuss it with my Queen before finalizing anything for the guild. Alright, Siege engines shouldn't be too hard, not costing xp and all. Unless of course you want it magical. |
| Demonfey12-10-05, 01:57 AM | Thanks, Orcy. What can I say, they have no sense of smell. *Flicks out tongue* Anyway, what's your standard selling price? I'll get the gold ready at the GoUE for you. |
| jagggar12-10-05, 11:30 PM | "Thank you," Akaryu nods to Glenn. He turns to his guide once he is done with his business with the craftsman as well. "Where to now?" |
| Demonfey12-10-05, 11:33 PM | Well, there's the mainland, if you want to see that. Maybe the Oriental Guild? Or one of the neutral guilds, possibly? |
| jagggar12-11-05, 12:45 AM | Akaryu shakes his head and flips through the guide, "You spoke of the Halls of Refuge?" |
| Demonfey12-11-05, 12:50 AM | Ah. One gate, coming up. A gate identical to the last one pops up. Crowley goes through. |
| jagggar12-11-05, 01:03 AM | Aki at some point in time managed to drop by the It's So Cheap, First Outfit's Free -- Clothing Outlet to grab a new set of robes. Aki follows. |
| Dyne12-11-05, 03:02 PM | I would like to revise my order slightly: +4 Shocking Bastard Sword +4 Mithral Chainmail +4 Buckler Pipes of Pain Horn of Blasting Lyre of Building Belt of Giant Strength +6 Cloak of Charisma +6 Gloves of Dexterity +4 Amulet of Health +4 Ring of Chameleon Power Circlet of Persuasion Vest of Escape Boots of Elvenkind |
| Zombomaniac12-13-05, 11:13 PM | I have a few questions about some of the grafts. I think I know the answer, but dont want to take the risk of being wrong. On the Graft Bone Mail from the FF it adds 2 to Nat Armor right? Not changes NA to 2 or anything? Do Fiendish Skin and Bone Mail stack? Does Scaly Skin stack with Fiendish Skin and/or Bone Mail? |
| Demonfey12-13-05, 11:16 PM | Grafts that alter NA don't stack, same as the effects of mage armor not stacking with itself if you tried casting it twice on yourself. Grafts improve upon natural armor unless noted (silthilar graft says that the nat. armor graft replaces current natural armor). Bone mail adds+2 to natural armor |
| Zombomaniac12-13-05, 11:19 PM | So the three I mentioned do not stack (just making sure I understand)? |
| Demonfey12-13-05, 11:21 PM | Correct. |
| Zombomaniac12-13-05, 11:24 PM | Correct. Darnit. I was hoping they would. It would have been a big dip but I can hope can't I? :D I might be calling you up for grafts sooner or later, but not sure when. |
| Dyne12-14-05, 06:25 PM | I would like to revise my order slightly: +4 Shocking Bastard Sword +4 Mithral Chainmail +4 Buckler Pipes of Pain Horn of Blasting Lyre of Building Belt of Giant Strength +6 Cloak of Charisma +6 Gloves of Dexterity +4 Amulet of Health +4 Ring of Chameleon Power Circlet of Persuasion Vest of Escape Boots of Elvenkind I don't think I heard back from you on this, Orcy. I believe the total would be 196,575 gp, assuming everything was 25% off standard prices. (37,835 for the sword, 16,150 for the chainmail, 12,165 for the buckler, 9,000 for the pipes, 15,000 for the horn, 9,750 for the lyre, 27,000 for the belt, 27,000 for the cloak, 12,000 for the gloves, 12,000 for the amulet, 9,525 for the ring, 3,375 for the circlet, 3,900 gp for the vest, and 1,875 gp for the boots) |

He just got back home from school and will get to work on these things as soon as he can. |
| Dyne12-14-05, 06:57 PM | That would be because Orcy has been juggling between his other things here, finals, and other such things. He just got back home from school and will get to work on these things as soon as he can. Thanks, Orcy. I've been changing it a little, again, but I think I've got it figured out. In fact, my character is now totally finished. :w00t: |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-14-05, 10:31 PM | Glenn whistles a tune as he begins to set items on top of the counter infront of him. He stacks them along, folded nicely and made in bright colors with storm designs lining many of the items. He waves the strange happy smiling bard over to him. "Alright, that'll be 195,526 gold. No songs, no dancing, no prancing, but money money money moooooonnneeeeey. MOOOOOONEEEEY! Erm... sorry, gold." |
| Dyne12-14-05, 10:36 PM | The man places a large sack of jingling coins on the counter. "Thank you, it is greatly appreciated." He stands and admires some of the storm designs. Even less than I expected. How much did you charge for each individual item? So I can record it on my character sheet? |

| Dyne12-16-05, 09:44 PM | Yeah, but nobody else seems to notice its existance... Oh, they'll notice, in time. :evillaugh Anyway, how much gold ya got in those vaults of yours? I'm considering taking out some loans. |
| Sssargoth12-16-05, 10:11 PM | Anyway, how much gold ya got in those vaults of yours? Damned if I know. I'm considering taking out some loans. Good, good. :plotting: |
| Dyne12-16-05, 10:24 PM | Damned if I know. Isn't it run by your character? Or is it run by the Big Sssargoth, who is a Lord of Tyranor, and therefore has limitless wealth? |

| Dyne12-18-05, 06:03 PM | A man in black robes with the hood drawn up enters Sssargoth's bank. He immediately walks right up to the counter. "The Stormhand Federation would like to take out a loan, totalling 1,000,000 gold pieces in amount." |

| Dyne12-18-05, 08:54 PM | and the universe shudders with fear Stupid universe. Why does everyone fear what they don't understand? :nonono: The man nods. "Thank you," before leaving back to the guild. Sssargoth, what is the source of the funds in your bank? Surely your "mini me" character wouldn't have that much gold to loan off, unless it was taken from the Psionic Foundation's funds. I just want to make absolutely sure, so that the legitimacy of the loan is not questioned. |

Surely your "mini me" character wouldn't have that much gold to loan off, unless it was taken from the Psionic Foundation's funds. I just want to make absolutely sure, so that the legitimacy of the loan is not questioned. Since its big me doing most of the transactions for now, its from the Tyranoran coffers. 10% of any interest made on the loan goes to mini-me, the rest is split evenly between the bank ad the psionics foundation. |

Is that fair for gold from the Tyranorian coffers to benefit your character and your guild? Somehow, I'm reminded of "graft" and other political scandals. Well, it's up to you GM's, I suppose. Happy hunting. *Goes off to plot about what he'll use his gold for* |
| Sssargoth12-18-05, 09:24 PM | Well, the first million goes back to the Tyranor coffers, then you just have to worry about the interest, and Im guuna be makin a lot on that, |
| Dyne12-18-05, 09:26 PM | Well, the first million goes back to the Tyranor coffers, then you just have to worry about the interest, and Im guuna be makin a lot on that, But wouldn't that still be using your powers as a GM to benefit your PC? Perhaps I should ask Jagggar.... |
| jagggar12-18-05, 10:13 PM | Now that seriously sounds fishy to me. If anything, the merch guild should get the money from. . .. okay, that's Reece talking. . . I've got a general idea of a guild layout, but I can't get my head around applying the stronghold rules to it right now. Someone willing to help with that, we can figure out how much the Merch Guild has to loan. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-20-05, 07:25 PM | Glenn places a few items on top of the counter infront of him and looks around. He scratches his head and looks at the other people in his shop. "Hey, did that scaley red half dragon guy leave anything on where to send his things when I finished em?" |
| jagggar12-20-05, 08:40 PM | "I get 'im!" cj disappears in a poof of pink smoke. A few moments later Akaryu comes through a portal. "The small jagggar said my order was done?" |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-20-05, 09:50 PM | "Yes, indeed it is done. Right here on the counter. Now, that will be 142,490 gold." Glenn nods with a smile as he pats the pile of items on the counter infront of him. |
| Demonfey12-21-05, 12:37 AM | You sell at 75% price, right? |
| jagggar12-21-05, 12:52 AM | "Thank you." Money exchanges hands. I'll be annoying and request prices for each item like Dyne did. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-21-05, 02:48 AM | "Thank you." Money exchanges hands. I'll be annoying and request prices for each item like Dyne did. Bracers, 18,000gp Crossbow, 13,752gp Elven Chain, 30,113gp Pectoral, 9,000gp Phylactery, 8,250gp Cloak of cha, 27,000gp Periapt of wis, 27,000gp Circlet, 3375gp Pro Ring, 6,000gp That should be in order of what was ordered. Also, yes Glenn sells at 75% (for the most part). |
| Demonfey12-21-05, 11:42 AM | Thanks. I'll forward the necessary funds over. |
| jagggar12-21-05, 06:20 PM | Slightly confused here. . . What are the funds being forwarded for? |
| Demonfey12-21-05, 08:02 PM | Earlier, I got the GoUE the zepellins, dirgibles, drakestone golems, siege weaponry/portable siege weaponry, etc., and I just haven't been sure how much to deduct for the equipment. |
| thasis12-22-05, 02:50 AM | I think a Seige Weapon Factory is in store. It could proove to be intressting. An exsotic weapons facility would be nice to. |
| Demonfey12-22-05, 03:01 AM | Those would be nice things to have in the Merchant's Guild... :plotting: |
| thasis12-22-05, 03:03 AM | It was a hint for somebody to do it. I'm not exactly how to run a merchants place though so I'll stay away from the position. |
| Demonfey12-22-05, 04:57 AM | @Orcy: would you prefer all gold or mostly gold for the payment? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-22-05, 01:22 PM | Orcy isn't exactly sure what you are paying him for. You are all paid up for the GoUE order already, and Orcy believes Jagggar's things were paid for with starting gold. So... he isn't quite sure what you would be paying him for. |
| Demonfey12-22-05, 09:03 PM | I haven't deducted things from GoUE totals, yet. I want to know how much to deduct, and considering that items as payment tend to muck it up, it's just becoming a mess. Since the actual amount was never wrapped up, here's what you got: 225,000 gp worth of magical items for exp. 1 ring of three wishes (97,950 gp) 299,450 gp. Total: 622,400 gp, the main portion of said expense from the two constructs. |
| Dyne12-24-05, 12:21 PM | @Orcy: I just realized that Glenn is now wealthier than most of the guilds. What do you plan on doing with all that money? |
| jagggar12-24-05, 12:57 PM | Disneyland! Go to Disneyland! |
| Demonfey12-24-05, 11:37 PM | We could make a theme park area...a few modifications to the basic design of the lightning rail, give GoUE and temple the chance to make the house of horror, carnival games, other rides, some base jumping from zepellins and dirgibles...a few tumblers (vehicle)...it could just work! |
| Sssargoth12-24-05, 11:53 PM | We could make a theme park area...a few modifications to the basic design of the lightning rail, give GoUE and temple the chance to make the house of horror, carnival games, other rides, some base jumping from zepellins and dirgibles...a few tumblers (vehicle)...it could just work! Base jumping is done from cliff faces, not aircraft. That would be sky-diving. |
| Demonfey12-25-05, 12:22 AM | Base jumping is done from cliff faces, not aircraft. That would be sky-diving. What if we had them jump from a rock dropping to the ground from an aircraft? Technically, it was part of a cliff face at some point. Sorry if I say wrong things now, it's just been one of those days that you just don't expect to be busy. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-25-05, 12:23 AM | Now that Glenn is rich, he'll build a theme park in his backyard and have children over for... NO! NOT AT ALL. Orcy isn't sure what he'll do with the money. Now that hes finished with his current orders... he has no clue. Perhaps build a massive airship... of doomily doomness... and fly the world. Perhaps buy a territory or two and sell it to other people at a higher price? Who knows. |
| Demonfey12-25-05, 12:32 AM | Invest in symbionts? There's a table for prices in the Magic of Eberron book, and since they want hosts, getting profits off introducing them to hosts would be completely reasonable. Or, you could possibly decide you want to look into upgrading yourself with grafts (shameless plug). You could even devise a new, exotic magical vehicle that would transfer you around to places. |
| Dyne12-25-05, 12:43 AM | Donate to charity? Or maybe take over the world by taking control of all the effigies you built for everyone else? Wait, shouldn't've given you that idea.... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-25-05, 12:46 AM | Donate to charity? Or maybe take over the world by taking control of all the effigies you built for everyone else? Wait, shouldn't've given you that idea.... Come now, give Orcy more credit than that. He's already contemplated that. But, he would rather keep good relations with people that pay him. |
| Dyne12-25-05, 12:52 AM | Come now, give Orcy more credit than that. He's already contemplated that. But, he would rather keep good relations with people that pay him. Well, he could always build the newest attraction at the Pavilion. |
| Demonfey12-25-05, 12:55 AM | He could buy his own district. |
| Zombomaniac12-25-05, 01:13 AM | He could build his own district. |
| Demonfey12-25-05, 02:01 AM | Actually, he really could, if he tried... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-25-05, 02:03 AM | Orcy has decided that he will build his own flying merchant city... It shall have airship ports and it shall be floaty and wondrous... and sexy, oh so sexy. |
| Demonfey12-25-05, 02:06 AM | Flying merchant city? YAY! Something that the GoUE will have easy access to first! |
| Zombomaniac12-25-05, 02:11 AM | Flying merchant city? YAY! Something that the GoUE will have easy access to first! Not if I have anything to say about it! ;) |
| Demonfey12-25-05, 02:12 AM | Still got enough money for spiralburst bottles to sabotage attempts to beat the GoUE to it. |
| jagggar12-25-05, 09:27 PM | Now that Glenn is rich, he'll build a theme park in his backyard and have children over for... NO! NOT AT ALL. "I don't get it, what's wrong with eating people?" Hanzel and Gretal(sp?) is the first thing that popped into my head. |
| Demonfey12-25-05, 09:29 PM | Isn't that what the ghoul bard, Micheel Jackseen, did? |

| Lady Rolindin02-02-06, 08:17 PM | thanks Deamonfey for pointing out how to find the guils frist! a male half elf dressed in light blue robes and a ranger with a bow straped to her back along with another female carrying two longs swords on both side of her hips walk into the area. is anybody home, we have soem business for some one who interested. |
| jagggar03-09-06, 06:02 PM | I think I'm going to create a new thread for the Merch guild and have it be a sort of nice place for IFWG characters to buy their equipment. Have an NPC dealer and such. Might me Glenn if Orcy wouldn't mind that job. All deals with NPC dealer(s) would have to be started in the open, and PMed to GMs after being done, and, of course, be reflected on character sheets. And these of course, would be at book prices. I'm also planning on having an official bank who is run by NPCs. You know, loaning with an actual due date on the money. Savings with low interest rates. I'm planning on one benefit of having a large guild will be the amount of money you can have saved in a non-'borrow'able account. Money over that amount would be in less safe safes. Any guild member would be allowed to access this account, so be sure you trust your fellow guildmembers. |

| Dyne06-07-06, 06:37 PM | :bump: :shifty: Why do my guilds always die when I'm away? I should know better than to leave them with... you people.... ;) |
| thasis06-07-06, 06:42 PM | It has little purpose until we get something running. That's one of the main problems. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-08-06, 09:43 AM | Well, I'll put War Child up for guard duty or a supervising position (over the guards) for the Bank if that's ok |
| thasis06-08-06, 04:33 PM | The ECL7 characters won't be interacting on the normal threads (as they technically don't exist). |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-08-06, 06:42 PM | The ECL7 characters won't be interacting on the normal threads (as they technically don't exist). so wait, this is FoD ECL 15? damn it. |
| thasis06-08-06, 07:23 PM | As of the momment yes. Things are being figured out more now though. Nothing is official, which is why we need to keep In-Game Posts (that can cause conflicts that is) as minimal as possible. My IG posts have simply been from the shadows and making casual comments. Nothing threatening, just casual Thasis ;) You on the other hand make the impression that your going to kick some ass, which you techinically can't do as you don't exist :P |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-08-06, 07:45 PM | what can i say, i like making an entrance |
| thasis06-08-06, 11:45 PM | Yes, entrances can be made in flashy ways, but they can be made in direct non-threatening ways. People know I'm not going to shred them, you on the other hand? |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-09-06, 11:02 AM | Yes, entrances can be made in flashy ways, but they can be made in direct non-threatening ways. People know I'm not going to shred them, you on the other hand? they're non-threatening..... (i never made threats, only hostile promises) |
| thasis06-09-06, 04:58 PM | I'm trying to be serious here. Realy, your character doesn't exist so he can't engage in conflcits so "making hostile promises" as you put it probally isn't the best thing to do at this point and time. |
| Astron the Wizard06-10-06, 03:17 PM | Hello.I tried to start my own thread to participate in the Guild Wars, when it suddenly occured to me that I didn't have even the foggiest idea what the Guild Wars were. I was always facinated in merchants, so, in short, may I join? :P |

I was always facinated in merchants, so, in short, may I join? :P Of course! If you have any questions ask away. :) |
| thasis06-10-06, 04:28 PM | I've been here for a while, so I can answer whatever questions you need, along with Zombo, Jaggar, Ssargoth, Tenzhi, Necrodude, and the others. |
| Dyne06-10-06, 04:59 PM | Hello.I tried to start my own thread to participate in the Guild Wars, when it suddenly occured to me that I didn't have even the foggiest idea what the Guild Wars were. I was always facinated in merchants, so, in short, may I join? :P Welcome to the guild of comfortably fat and wealthy people. Prosper at your own risk. |
| Zombomaniac06-10-06, 05:26 PM | Welcome to the guild of comfortably fat and wealthy people. Prosper at your own risk. I'm not fat! *checks his belly* Ok mabye just a little, but Football keeps that down to a small belly. |
| thasis06-10-06, 09:32 PM | I'm nearly anorexic... :D :P |
| Zombomaniac06-11-06, 01:37 AM | I'm nearly anorexic... :D :P  Quick get that man some Beef! We need ribs and lots of BBQ Sause. NOW PEOPLE! |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-11-06, 09:34 AM | Quick get that man some Beef! We need ribs and lots of BBQ Sause. NOW PEOPLE! hahaha! aside from that, I'll put this a little more formerly: Can War Child be put as like a Chief of Security or something to protect the merchants? |
| Zombomaniac06-11-06, 09:52 AM | You would likely have to earn it IG. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-11-06, 02:54 PM | ok, ill figure something out |
| thasis06-11-06, 04:24 PM | Mmm... is the MG going to be in the new IFWG? I assume so, but it's probally going to be NPC run as it's more of an NPC thing. So once the new IFWG starts up make your character go to the merchant area in whatever city your in and apply for the job and deal with NPC's or whatever. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-11-06, 04:53 PM | ok, good idea thanks |
| Astron the Wizard06-11-06, 05:09 PM | Okay then. Thanks. Here's a question for you:At the beginning of this Guild, Dyne was the guildmaster. Who's in control now? :P |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-11-06, 05:25 PM | I believe it's still Dyne, and possibly some others operating under his permission. |
| thasis06-11-06, 05:57 PM | Dynes still active, so he's still in control. When he's gone it's more of a colabaration of people then one direct person in control. |
| Kobold_Ur_Priest06-11-06, 06:02 PM | Dynes still active, so he's still in control. When he's gone it's more of a colabaration of people then one direct person in control. exactly. |
| Dyne06-11-06, 09:15 PM | Dynes still active, so he's still in control. When he's gone it's more of a colabaration of people then one direct person in control. Wasn't jagggar put in charge? :thinks: It's more like a collaboration anyway, when I'm here or not. |
| thasis06-11-06, 10:49 PM | This is true, almost all guilds are collaborations. Without the collaboration of multiple people with a same intrest guilds can't be function. |
| Astron the Wizard06-12-06, 06:05 PM | Hey thasis, weren't you the ruler of the guild of elemental evil or something? |
| Dyne02-15-07, 12:14 AM | This guild needs a good booting. Where has all the greed gone? What would the world be like without some merchant or another trying to make a buck? Come on, people, let's get our act together. Get out there and try to sell stuff, or something. Or maybe discuss things on the topic of item creation and commerce. |
| CaptainShar02-15-07, 04:14 PM | Hello, merchants! I'm Captain Shar of the Noumenal Blade and the Guildmaster of the Guild of Seafarers, and I seek alliance with your guild. I'm sure you already have a profitable shipping trade; I propose that my guild can improve the skills of this city's seamen, and the make of their ships, and I in turn would be glad to stock my vessel with the goods you have to offer. |
| Dyne02-15-07, 04:50 PM | An Elf in emerald green robes carrying a wooden staff greets Captain Shar. "Ah, another guild of seafarers. I wondered when such a group would return to these lands. Yes, we would be honored and priviledged to have an alliance with your guild. May this unity bring peace and prosperity to our two groups." He nods to the seafarer, leaning on his staff. "In fact, I was just about to fire up the forge and open my shop for business once more. It would be very convenient to have someone to ship my goods to distant customers. Perhaps you will find some use of my items yourselves, as well." |
| CaptainShar02-15-07, 04:57 PM | Agreed. *A slender female human with a hint of the drow about her features (light orange hair and eyes, darkly tanned skin, and longish ears), wearing an elaborately embroidered leather jerkin and a simple rapier, shakes hands with Dyne." |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-15-07, 10:52 PM | A short somewhat plump man with a long red arm that ends in long claws, and another arm made of carved stone walks into the guildhouse. He flexes his crafted arms and waves a hand, an Erinyes entering behind him and a large stone golem behind her. He twirls about, his heavy armor clanking as he waves at the various things displayed in the guild hall. When he comes to a few constructs he pauses and looks them over, left over from the old war he scratches his chin. "AHA! Thats number fifty three and a half... I reused parts of the failed number fifty three you see, so I figure half would be appropriate. Yes, I remember building this! Now was that before or after all those war hungry people paid me a fortune? Ah well, doesn't matter!" Glenn turns toward the others and waves with his stone arm. "Did ya miss me!?" |
| turalisj02-15-07, 10:55 PM | The panel is still deciding on that one Glenn. |
| Dyne02-15-07, 11:14 PM | Dyne nods his head agreeably. "Nice to see some friendly faces, new and old. Glad that this guild got along during my absence. Well, this time I plan on staying around for quite some time. I miss being a part of civilization." He walks about the guild, admiring some of the wares in the windows of various shops. |
| CaptainShar02-18-07, 12:32 AM | Waken walks into the guild, a winged black-and-silver centaur. I'm interested in ordering enough lumber and stone to build a small city. How much would that cost? And personally I'm looking for a Holy Avenger, if you have any at slightly reduced prices. Apparently I can only spend up to 100,000 on a single starting item...I was directed here. And is it OK to time jump a little in these threads? My character isn't really coming here until tomorrow from King's Pyre. So just pretend you got the message tomorrow if time jumping isn't allowed. |
| Demonfey02-18-07, 01:11 AM | Small time jumps like that aren't issues. Never know when someone'll get to it, after all. |
