| Lord Nat05-13-04, 03:23 AM | Seeing as how the other topic is a little random to find the rules are such I have posted there I am making this to hold my and any others work for the Multi-verse Foundation. If you want to ask about anything posted here use the other topic. I'd like that to be used for plan talk about the Multi-verse. P.S. I will add to the this in the morning after I get done with work. I made this right now so I know I will get the first 4 posts ^_^ |
| Lord Nat05-13-04, 03:25 AM | Races of the Multi-verse. I will list the races in each game I own (I will list more and more as I get more books) and put how likely they are to travel the Multi-verse and why. (It’s ok to list races from none WotC stuff right? I mean I am not really giving any info about them out from the books just listing the name and saying what I think. But if it is not ok tell me and I will take them down right away) This info is mostly so a DM has an idea of what kind of people are out in the MV so they can kind of have a feel for how the MV looks. This info is just how a see it and you might not see it the same way so use what ever you feel like I am just doing this to give people an idea what the MV looks like in my head. I will list the same race some times if they are part of a nether world. Sense all the races are based off the world they come from a Goblin from one world will not be the same as a Goblin from some other world I will work like this Name: Name of Race Alone: How likely they are to be traveling out alone (Mostly for NPC’s) Team: How likely they are to be out in a team. Why: Why they may or may not want to travel. Alone and Team will range from Rare to Many. Rare = There might be one or two out there but most people will never meet one traveling. (It might be rare for one Race to travel but there might be worlds filled with them out there. This info it just how likely that race is to travel in the MV). Some = There are some out there. You might run into them from time to time. Mid = There are a good number out there. You will see them a lot as you go around. Many = It’s hard to toss a stone in a trading world and not hit one. I am working from the idea that the MV is known of in each world. If you have it where people don’t know of the MV the things I say here will mostly not help you at all. Ok first core DnD! Core DnD: Name: Human Alone: Mid Team: Mid Why: Humans are adventurous and will take the chance to travel if it comes. Be it alone or with a group a good number of Humans wish to head out into the MV to hunt for items, learn about other worlds, or even just try to do it with all the Women in the MV. Name: Halfling Alone: Rare Team: Mid Why: Halflings rarely go out into the MV alone sense they find it hard for them selves getting into trouble a lot. But if a Halfling finds a group willing to back them up they will heartedly go out to see the MV. There have been some Full Clans that travel the MV trading. Name: Gnome Alone: Rare Team: Some Why: Most Gnomes have a hard time leaving the world they are born in. They feel a love for the lands they are from and only rarely wish to see other worlds. Name: Elves Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: Elves all most never leave the world they are Born in. The only ones that do travel the MV are out casts or sent out by Elven Leaders on a job. Name: Half-Elves Alone: Many Team: Many Why: Half-Elves find them selves out casts in many places so many of them head out into the MV to find a place for them selves or just to find riches. What ever they are looking for there are many Half-Elves out there. Name: Dwarves Alone: Some Team: Some Why: Most Dwarves can’t stand the idea of being away from the world they are born in for long. Let alone be away from the Clan. Most Dwarves that travel are seeking new metals to forge or riches. Name: Half-Orc Alone: Rare Team: Some Why: They are just plan to dumb to travel well. They get in fights where ever they go and mess things up for most teams. There are some out there but most the time they are traveling with a Mage that can back them up. Eberron Name: Changeling Alone: Some Team: Rare Why: They are the best known Assassins and Spies in the MV. But they are so good most people never even see one once in a life time. They stay out of most large trade towns and stay in small guild out posts waiting for orders. Name: Kalashtar Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: They are out casts even in the MV. People fear a mix of this kind and the powers some say they might hide. They only ever go out into other worlds when they are hunting the Inspired. Name: Shifters Alone: Rare Team: Mid Why: Shifters are used by many armies in cleaner troops (a cleaner troop is one that clears an area of all living things) for they are powerful and are easy to lead. But it is rare to see one out by it’s self. Name: Warforged Alone: Some Team: Some Why: Some Warforged head into the MV to find a place where they can fit in. But even in the MV things like them are rare. Many find it is hard to get along on your own and join with armies and others hunt meaning by endless travel. Some talk of Warforged that have become story tellers and tell the histories of now dead worlds they have seen. Some say that the way of building Warforged was gotten from a now dead world and some hunt it to find who they really are. D20 Modren: Name: Human See DnD Human Name: Moreau (Any) Alone: Rare Team: Mid Why: Some Moreau are able to get away from who ever owns them and head out into the MV. They almost never travel alone in the fear that who ever they got away from might come looking for them. So they like to join a team to help defend them selves. Warcraft RPG: Name: Human See DnD Human Name: Dwarf, Ironforge Alone: Mid Team: Mid Why: the Ironforge Dwarfs long battle and will travel into the MV to find wars if they can. Most any army that hires people from other worlds will have Ironforge Dwarfs in it. Name: Elf, High Alone: Rare Team: Some Why: They are like the DnD Elves in that they love the land they are born in. But the High Elves have joined with the Humans and will go with a team they are a member of if they enter the MV. Name: Elf, Night Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: The Night Elves see it as the biggest sin ever to leave the world you are born in. The only ones that ever leave are out casts and if they don’t leave they will be killed. But once they leave they can never come back. Name: Goblin Alone: Mid Team: Many Why: Goblins have a strong curiosity and no real ties to a home world so they freely travel the MV looking for new tech and trading with other worlds. You are bound to meet one most places. Name: Half-Elf See DnD Half Elf Name: Half-Orc Alone: Mid Team: Some Why: They Half-Orcs of this world are smarter then others and many of them just wish to find a place for them. So a good number of Half-Orcs travel the MV seeking a place to fit in. They fear being hated so most of them travel alone in the fear who ever they travel with might grow to hate them. Name: Orc Alone: Some Team: Some Why: Sense the Orcs of the world are really form a nether they do not feel in place some times. So some Orcs have left to try and return to the Orc home world and some that are blood hungry set out to find new wars to fight. Name: Tauren Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: They feel linked to their home world and most of them never wish to leave it. There are a really small number of the younger ones that wish to see the worlds and travel. |
| Lord Nat05-13-04, 03:26 AM | Classes of the Multi-verse Ok this is the same idea as the other one only with classes. Doing it the same way as the other one so I will just get started. I am going to do Base classes only for DnD. There are to many PrCs that are set to one world or one type of questing to really go into here. Core DnD Name: Barbarian Alone: Rare Team: Mid Why: They are uncivilized and wild so they rarely ever find a way into the MV on their own. But a number of groups find them useful if they are have to fight out of some thing. But being so dim the Barbarian almost never is left Alone. Name: Bard Alone: Many Team: Many Why: There are many Bards out looking for new stories, songs, magic, etc. Some say that the first MV traveler was a Bard. Name: Cleric Alone: Many Team: Many Why: There are many Clerics that are other the Forces (See next post for more on Forces) out doing the will of what ever Force they are following. Name: Druid Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: Druids are linked to the world they are born in so it is rare to find a Druid willing to leave it. The only known time a Druid has willingly left it’s home world is when it’s grove is lost (To fire, A city, Etc) Name: Fighter Alone: Mid Team: Mid Why: Fighters might head into the MV for many things. To learn new ways of war, hunt for riches, find a person who is able to beat them, or just fight in wars. Most fighters in the MV are out for hire and will work for the highest bidder. Name: Monk Alone: Some Team: Some Why: Most people in the Monk order don’t wish to leave the world the order is in. But there are some Monks that are sent on missions for the order so they are seen in other worlds from time to time doing some thing for the Order. Name: Paladin Alone: Mid Team: Mid Why: Paladins that are followers of one of the Forces are seen in other worlds less then Clerics but are still around. Most Paladins are followers of Fate so they do not go around much in worlds that don’t know of the MV so they are mostly seen in trading worlds. Name: Ranger Alone: Mid Team: Some Why: Rangers are known most worlds for their skills in hunting and tracking. Some Rangers hire them selves out as assassins and are feared by most travelers. When they get a job they don’t stop till the target is dead. But they are loners most the time saying “A Team will just slow me down” Name: Rogue Alone: Mid Team: Many Why: Rogues head into the MV for all kinds of things. Some wish to learn skills from other worlds, some want to rob worlds blind (A story says a master Rogue did still the eyes off all the people in one world), Or just looking for a little fun. Rogues are able to learn to do most things fast and many groups find them a big help when heading into lesser known worlds. If you don’t have the money of the world there is only one way to get what you want ^_^ Name: Sorcerer Alone: Mid Team: Mid Why: Sorcerers find them selves out casts in many Magic worlds for the power to use magic with out having to cast spells. So many of them are like Paladins of the Magic Force (See next post) traveling around doing the will of Magic. Name: Wizards Alone: Many Team: Many Why: You can’t toss a stone with out hitting a Wizard from some where. A good % of travelers are some type of Magic User. Unearthed Arcana Not going to do all the Variants. Only the Ranger ones. Name: Planar Ranger Alone: Some Team: Rare Why: Hunters of the MV. Only a small number of them are around at one time but they are one of the most feared forces in the MV. For good or evil if you can get one on you’re side any one fighting you is more likely to give out right there then fight you. Name: Urban Ranger Alone: Mid Team: Some Why: Rangers trained in hunter and tracking in Tech and City worlds. Are mostly found in large trading worlds. Warcraft RPG Base Classes For all classes from DnD just look at the DnD listing for them. Name: Healer Alone: Rare Team: Some Why: Most Healers wish to stay and help the people of the world they are born in. But some take on the task of helping all peoples of the MV and travel. They almost never travel Alone. Name: Tinker Alone: Some Team: Many Why: If a good % of the MV travelers are Magic Users a good % of them are Tech Users too. Tinkers often head into the MV looking for new tech in other worlds. Most of them work better with a Team to back them up but loners have been see before. PrC Classes (PrC classes in Warcraft RPG matter much more then in DnD so I am going to list them) Name: Beastmaster Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: Beastmasters are linked to the world they come from and most do not wish to leave it. Even if they go out to travel they don’t deal with people well so they give up on it fast. Name: Druid of the Wild See DnD Druid Name: Elven Ranger Alone: Some Team: Rare Why: It is said if you ever cross an Elf in the MV you will die in the next 5 days. Well the Elven Rangers is Why people say that. They are the privet assassins of the Elves and feared where ever they go. It is rare for a person to see one and live out the day. Name: Gladiator Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: Gladiators almost never leave their home world as they are needed for on going wars. Name: Horde Assassin Alone: Some Team: Rare Why: If people fear the Elven Rangers they wet them selves hear the Name of a Horde Assassin. People say if you are marked by one it is kinder to kill you’re self before they get you. But by the time people know they are marked they are dead too. Name: Hunter Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: They are not seen out side their home world at all unless they are being hired out. The skill they have in moving in wooded areas is talking about in many places and they are hired for wars from time to time. Name: Infiltrator Alone: Some Team: Rare Why: They sent of hidden jobs in many worlds but it is rare to see a real traveler. Known as master spies armies have had wars over just who get’s to hire them. Name: Mounted Warrior See DnD Paladin Name: Paladin Warrior See DnD Cleric Name: Priest See Warcraft RPG Healer Name: Shaman See DnD Wizard Name: Warlock See DnD Wizard d20 Modern (I will be listing the Advanced classes only seeing as the base classes are only the type of person the char is) Name: Soldier Alone: Some Team: Mid Why: Soldiers are like fighters. But many Soldiers are trainers in armies and are seen as masters in the art of combat. Name: Martial Artist See d20 Modern Soldier Name: Gunslinger Alone: Mid Team: Mid Why: Gunslingers often hired fighters and will work for anyone willing to pay the cost. They are known for being able to use and train in any type of ranged combat. Name: Infiltrator See Warcraft RPG Infiltrator (But more on Tech side) Name: Dare Devil Alone: Rare Team: Some Why: Most are happy messing around in their home world and see no need to travel. But there are some that want to do bigger and bigger stunts and seek new ideas by traveling. Name: Body Guard Alone: Rare (Ok like NEVER) Team: Mid Why: Most trade worlds have a place to hire Body Guards out and no one is better at it then this group. High in cost but if you can pay the price even the best assassins starting thinking again about killing you. Name: Field Scientist Alone: Some Team: Mid Why: Some times one world is just not enough for some people, They have to see how all the worlds tick. So some Field Scientists start traveling to see the worlds. Name: Techie Alone: Rare Team: Many Why: Tech people make up a good number of travelers and they are a huge help to any Team. Techies have a hard time on their own so it is rare to see a loner of this class but with a Team they are all over the place. Name: Field Medic Alone: Rare Team: Mid Why: May not be magic but the next best thing. Many groups hire or seek out a Medic to join them. Many none magic worlds seek Field Medics to help them with mass sickness. Name: Investigator Alone: Mid Team: Rare Why: Most work of MV papers like Worlds Wide News (More on stuff like this later) and most go it Alone. They get in, get the story and get out. Name: Personality Alone: Rare Team: Rare Why: It is just to hard to have fame in more then one world and when you’re main skill is fame you don’t like to travel. Name: Negotiator Alone: Some Team: Some Why: Mostly work for the cops or army of the world they are in but some hire out to other worlds in the down time. BESM d20 (Ya I know useless to most but if you are using BESM you might like to check this out) Name: Adventurer Alone: Many Team: Many Why: Hell if you travel you might be called an Adventurer. But for the class ALL of them go out into the MV too quest. One world is never as big as you think it is will you have seen the MV ^_^ Name: Dynamic Sorcerer See DnD Wizard Name: Hot Rod Alone: Some Team: Some Why: Most riders see no point in going out into the MV but some go to find new parts for their ride or just are out for some fun. Most MV riders use ATV or Flying rides. Name: Magical Girl/Boy Alone: Rare Team: Some Why: Some Magical Girls/Boys travel the MV to find Why they have the powers they do. But they almost never do it Alone. Name: Giant Robot Alone: Rare Team: Mid Why: Some times made by a Team member or some times you might buy them or even they might drop out of the sky on top of you. But how ever Giant Robots are seen around the MV and never Alone. (Tip: Stay away from None Tech worlds) Name: Gun Bunny See d20 Modern Gunslinger Name: Martial Artist See d20 Modern Soldier / DnD Fighter Name: Mecha Pilot Alone: Mid Team: Mid Why: Mecha Pilots work for armies, companies, or the rare free lancer hires him self out. But they have to do some thing to pay for up keep of a Mech Name: Ninja See Warcraft RPG Elven Ranger / Hord Assassin Name: Pet Monster Trainer Alone: Rare Team: Some Why: There are a lot of monsters out there are some Trainers want to travel and find the best or just to see all they can. Fighting worlds (More on that later) often have huge tournaments of Monster Trainers. Name: Samurai See DnD Fighter and add Honor Name: Sentai Member Alone: Rare (As in NEVER) Team: Some Why: Hero Teams are like any other group that wishes to do good. But this kind looks good doing it. Name: Shapechanger Alone: Some Team: Rare Why: Being out casts from fear of the powers they have some Shapechangers head into the MV to see the worlds and forget the past. Name: Student Alone: Rare Team: Some Why: Some worlds have schools that have trips in the MV and some times you will run into them. A real traveling Student is rare but known to happen. Name: Tech Genius See D20 Modern Techie / Warcraft RPG Tinker |
| Lord Nat05-13-04, 03:28 AM | The forces ae like the gods of the MV. See the other topic for more info on then. The High Forces: Fate: Fate is the force of the Multi-verse of order and balance. The flowers of fate are the believe in the balance of the Multi-verse and that ones are not to dabble in the affairs of other worlds. Fate is a Lawful Neutral force. Fate is associated with the domains of Fate, Law, Protection, and Knowledge. Clerics of Fate: Most of the Clerics of fate are hunters of Multi-verse travelers who dabble in the doings of other worlds. They are the main force of other in the Multi-verse even if most worlds know nothing of them. Paladins of Fate: The Paladins of fate are a powerful force of order and good in the Multi-verse. They do all they can to never be seen by people of worlds that know nothing of them and to only strike when they people they are hunting make a move. Destiny: Destiny is the force in the Multi-verse of freedom and adventure. The flowers of Destiny are a wide group of diverse people all over the Multi-verse who are seeking adventure and freedom. Most people who flow Destiny believe in taking life by the horns and doing all you can to make you’’re lot better and that is why many of them are Multi-verse travelers. Destiny is a Neutral force. Destiny is associated with the domains of Destiny, Luck, Travel, and Knowledge Clerics of Destiny: Most Clerics that flow Destiny are out to find meaning in life. They do not feel the need to help or harm others. They act as they see fit at the time. Paladins of Destiny(Use the Paladin of Freedom in Unearthed Arcana only make it so it has to be NG not CG): Paladins of Destiny are a force of good in the Multi-verse. They travel as they se fit and do good wherever they are no matter if they are messing with the laws of that world or not. Many think they are right no matter what. The Mid Level Forces: Tech: This is the force of science and machines. Most people who follow Tech are people who use the items they have at hand and around them to do what they need. Most followers of tech are weaker in the body but stronger in the mind. The main opposing forces of Tech are Magic and Nature. Forces that work with Tech are the Elemental forces (Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, and Metal). When it comes to Fate and Destiny Tech is neutral and does not favor either side. Clerics of Tech: People who can be called Clerics of Tech are people who like to build new things. And most the time they are from lower tech worlds. They are people who get an idea of what they want to do and then build some thing to do it from anything on hand. By doing this they show the power of Tech to the MV and make more people want to use it. Paladins of Tech: Paladins of tech are the kind of people who use laser guns or Mechs to battle magic. They use all kinds of tech and science to battle magic from other worlds. Magic: Magic is the force of bending the rules of the world around you and making to do as you wish. Most people who use magic are older and have studied it for many years before they gain true power. Magic comes in many guises. The opposing forces of Magic are Tech and Psi Forces that work with Magic the Elemental forces (Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, and Metal) and Nature. When it comes to Fate and Destiny Magic is neutral and does not favor either side. Clerics of Magic: Most people who can be called a Cleric of magic are Mages that travel the worlds to find new kinds of magic. They might be evil or good but they are wise and show people the true power of magic. (For the DnD class Cleric the Domains of Magic are the same as the ones for the God of Magic in DnD) Paladins of Magic: what you might call a Paladin of Magic are Mages with massive power in Magic. Ranging from Summoners to Pyromancers they have huge powers that can wipe life off of hole worlds. Often they have used magic to extend their life and spend most of their time hidden away in a lab making new spells and making magic items. Psi: The power of Psi is the power of the mind. Few people with this power and only a small number of the train in it. But this force is ranked with the Mid level forces for it’’s power. Most people of the MV fear a true master of Psi. The opposing forces of Psi is Magic Forces that work with Psi are Nature and Tech. When it comes to Fate and Destiny Psi is neutral and but leans to the side of Destiny a little. Psi has no real Clerics or Paladins as you are born with the power and can not show people who do not have it how to use it. The closest thing to a Cleric of Psi is some one who travels looking for young and untaped powers to train. New Domains: Fate: Granted power: You gain the power to use Word of Recall (As per spell) once per day to call you’’re self but only to you’’re home world. Fate Domain Spells: 1. Deathwatch 2. Enthrall 3. Dimensional Anchor 4. Sending 5. Scrying 6. Banishment 7. Refuge 8. Dimensional Lock 9. Soul Bind Destiny: Gained Power: Able to cast Tongues on self (As per spell) onece per day. Destiny Domain Spells: 1. Magic Stone 2. Status 3. Obscure Object 4. Freedom of Movement 5. Plane Shift (Can be used to travel to other worlds in the MV) 6. Geas/Quest 7. Scrying, Greater 8. Planar Ally, Greater 9. Gate |
| Silmarien Aldalome05-13-04, 09:34 PM | Thank you Lord Nat - this promises to be a *fantastic* resource and compendium of really interesting things. The Multiverse ideas create fantastic options for Campaign Settings. [GM-Voice]*turns to reader* - I would like to see you involved here too. Even if that involvement means you would like to challenge some of the ideas! This would make for interesting discussions - provided we say it respectfully. Lord Nat has worked tirelessly to provide us with materials - let's help him out! Warm Regards stav[GM-Voice] |
| Lord Nat05-14-04, 01:06 AM | Ok Classes done. When I get the time I will start on the forces then types of worlds. ^_^ I love working on this stuff. |
| Silmarien Aldalome05-14-04, 10:15 PM | Well done on your self-discipline. We'll look forwards to the next installments. If you want me to PM contacts to fire up the thread - let me know. I'd encourage you to actively contact your own people too - to bring them on-board. The stuff on this thread is really adaptable and serves many campaign possibilities. Also - if you want to diversify the scope by introducing an RP adjunct to the work - please do so. best regards stav |
| Lord Nat05-16-04, 11:56 PM | I am working on the forces but work is killer right now ^_^ I will have them up in three days max. But I just picked up the DnD 3.5 Monster Manual and Expanded Psionics Handbook so I will be updating the Race and Class lists too. Some time I will get around to doing all the DnD PrCs and not just the Base classes and adding a MV flaver to each class. I want to do the flaver just so people can get an idea of how one way the MV can look. I mean it's not like people have to use any of it but I just like to write it ^_^ As I work this summer I am going to pick up at lest two new books each pay day (15th and 30th) so I will be getting a lot of books over the summer to add info about. So by the end of the summer there will be a lot of info here. Oh and I am going to do some info about Magic and Psi in the <V soon so keep an eye open for it. |
| Lord Nat05-18-04, 05:40 PM | Ok the High and Mid forces info is up. I might add to them as I think up more. Tonight I plan to do the races and classes for my new books and start work on a thing about Tech, Magic, and Psi in the MV. And yes there will be come about Technomancers ^_^ |
| Lord Nat06-30-04, 02:37 AM | Ok my write up of the new Eberron races is up. I am going to be moving a little slower with the new stuff but it still will be done. But don't think I am dead ^_^ |
| Silmarien Aldalome06-30-04, 05:37 PM | Hi there Lord Nat - good to see you. Thanx for the update. Remember to feel free to join in on any of the other discussions where you're most welcome anytime. And - please don't feel like you need to necessarily produce reams of output to have a say here, either on this thread or others. I hope you've been well - and take care stav |
| Lord Nat06-30-04, 06:28 PM | Really I just don't have time for stuff right now. I am doing my best but I am working to save money to move out this fall (And that might give me more or less time to work on stuff ^_^). But I will keep going slowly. I got an idea for a setting I wanted to work on a little this summer so once I get some of my ideas down I will be able to post a little about it here. Or not if I make up my mind to try and sell it ^_^ |
