Ancient loretomes place Mythal Skybridge in the southern hemisphere of the Known World. Many aeons ago, the three Princedoms of the Elves were settled in a part of the world where the Elf-Forge was at their centre. This was a place nestled in the arms of a forking mountain range: The Rilla Mountains and these run north-south for many hundreds of Leagues.

These white-capped mountains are home to a catacomb of passageways - smooth and cunningly crafted by the benevolent Stone Giants and some of their lands were taken by Orcs and it is said, that a Great White Wyrm lies on the treasures of The Vanished Elf Lords deep in the vaults of the earth.

In any case, one mountain, a half days walk from the Elf Forge, is separate from the main mountain range, and one can take a broken switch-back road up very high, into the clouds, where the Elves fashioned a great stone bridge, into an arch, that connects the main range to the mountain.

it was here that I discovered my powers - when the resonances of Mythal Skybridge called to me - and when the Elves sang to me from the past. Though I was a half-blood - I found my way into the Mythal - and there - exalted - I discovered the truth.

As one crosses the Great Bridge, one may command a view of 100 leagues to the south, west and north. To the east, are the Rilla Mountains, and to the north - on a clear day, one can descry from afar the Great Northern Flame - the Ost-In-Edhel and City of Elves, with its seven-towers that climb to such heights that the clouds meet them. Each spire is radiant with one colour and together, they are like a great prism that bends white light and 'tis said that the magic is a Mythal as well. The city is in the Great Forest which is home to many Elves, some of whom, may yet be Loremasters of Elven High Magic - mayhap they have heard of Angrolachon, I cannot tell....

In any case, in the lone mountain, is the former Council Halls of the Elves, now only ruins within, where scattered Tomes may still be found.

A lone bird sang in the depths of the forest, one fo the few sounds breaking the silence, apart form the gentle afternoon wind rustling the leaves. The trees themsleves were magnificent, tall and stately, mostly silver beach and pine, but with a sprinkling of others, as well as patches of bramble or berrie, though the seaon was not right for them. The pine needles made a thick coating on the ground, muffling sound, so that the forest remained silent, the soft pine needles absorbing the sound, so that the birds of prey had difficulty hearing the slight sounds of a mouse, vole or other small animal foraging for food.

Intermingled among the trees, their branches brushing, lay ruins. White marble now lay shattered by tree roots, weathered by wind, and hidden by sprouting bushes. Once tall walls now lay on their side, providing a home to many small creatures, once mighty spires, once cleaving the sky, reduced to half the height of a tree, fit only for birds nests. Once golden temples were now only a circle of stone, once grand villas now buried in the forest floor and mulch.

But an air of greatness, power, and being still haunted the area, an aura, unseen, but one that proclaimed its position, its long gone power, its lost era as centre of the know world. Statues could still be seen, of equisite craftsmanship, the weeds growing apon them failing to mask their beauty. Long scince working fountains sat in huge city squares, judging by the boundries now remaining, easily the size of a good village these days. Great arches spanned walkways that would allow 20 horses to pass side by side. Towers, half broken down, still proclaimed majestic heights, seeming to dwarf the trees that grew along and above them.

The city lived on.

Delwyn now strode through the magnificent trees, marvelling at their beauty, while hs other side carefully surveyed his surroundings, keeping an ever cautious eye out for danger. He had had severl 'interesting' encounters so far on this 5 month trip - bandits attempting to rob him, crazed woodland animals, barbarian tribes, and the like, but he had managed to escape, as he had his entrie life; he was getting good at it.

What led Delwyn here were scraps of information picked up in the Council libraries, snippets here, the odd mention there, the seemed to imply an object of great power lay here, known only as the "Aleatir Eathrium", which translates as any one of the Gateway of the Planes, Mover of the Heavens, and the like - obviiously an object of incrdible power for ones that walked the planes, and Delwyn had sent himself on this quest to find it. he had been the only one, as the other powerful Archmages had decided to remain to hold the Council, and the more minor mages had never heard of it, for the information was kept on the older libraries, rarely visited, ecept by the older Archmages, but which contained, in their opinion, much more information and magic than the many more newer libraries.

And so Delwyn approasched the ruined city, ready to embark on his quest to further the Councils power..

Which was when he noticed the single footprint in the ground nearby, only made in the last day or two, indicating the presence of another in the city. Delwyn palmed a knife..

The city had suddenly become much more dnagerous..
