| thasis09-27-04, 10:52 PM | Well it's me Thasis again trying my hand at starting another guild (hopefully lasting longer then my other ones). Here we discuss necromancy, we design new necromancy spells, feats, PRC's, and the such. Everything here is necromancy. Heres the current members list Thasis, The Demon Lord Turisilg Lightman Pharun Gak Seriggan |
| turalisj09-30-04, 06:35 PM | count me in. oh, and isnt your lawyer prc a lawfull evil one? ;) |
| thasis09-30-04, 09:03 PM | He He He. I should put that down shouldn't I. Now that I got a member what do you want to discuss. |
| lightman10-02-04, 08:45 PM | oh what the heck. ill join |
| thasis10-02-04, 10:20 PM | Your in. |
| lightman10-06-04, 07:56 PM | so what are we supposed to be doing? |
| thasis10-06-04, 08:15 PM | Well I'm trying to create my own Necromancer Class. Wanna help? |
| thasis10-10-04, 12:22 PM | Lets us Necromancers raise armys of the dead and swarm these other foundations. We will win the guild wars. We will prevail. |
| turalisj10-10-04, 12:44 PM | unless we go against the psionic, orient, or half elf foundation, my loyalty is to them first and foremost. *summons some spectres to clean around the place* |
| Pharun10-13-04, 07:47 PM | I'd join, and by class, do you mean a base class, If so Awseme I've alwas wanted to play a True Necromancer. |
| thasis10-14-04, 09:54 AM | Tottaly Base Class. I've got like a whole sheet of paper for the fluf stuff alone. Then the class I want to make asome. It might be hard though. I don't have two many ideas for cool special abilities. Also, Have you seen the Ultimate Barbarian through Ultimate Wizard classes (basically this guy took all the core classes and redid them the way they should have been done). Thats the way I want to do it. If your unfamiliar with what he did then I'll expain. What he did was made it so at like first level or something you chose a specilization (such as Thief or Assassin for Rouge) and you gained special abilities based on that specilization. Basically each specilization is almost like another class. It was very well done. So wanna help with the Necromancer Class now that I've gave more detail? |
| Pharun10-14-04, 05:17 PM | Ya the Ultimate Wiz is good, so far one of the better "Necromansers". |
| lightman10-14-04, 05:24 PM | Create weapons Prequiste: wizard 1(must be specialzed in necromacy) If you find a dead body, you can use it's body to make any non magical wepon. You can only use this feat once per day. |
| thasis10-14-04, 05:32 PM | Very good, mind if I use it in my book of corruption? |
| Pharun10-14-04, 11:37 PM | I have a point thing to make classes, so there balanced I could send it to you if you want. |
| thasis10-15-04, 09:39 AM | I don't realy like those point score things. There usuful but they can be to limiting when creating your special abilities. Especiouly for what I'm thinking of doing. What I do is I just create it as it comes out of my mind and I set the abilities at a level I find appropiate. Then I play around with it for while to makes sure its balanced. Next I post it on the boards. The kind people on the boards typically help me fix and tweak the class. I even started a thread to help people with there custom classes (see sig). Creating a class isn't to hard without a point-based system and it's actualy pretty fun. It takes a little longer though :D . |
| lightman10-15-04, 03:49 PM | Very good, mind if I use it in my book of corruption? sure, just could you wriite that it wasn't your work? and could you send me that point buy class maker thing |
| thasis10-15-04, 05:18 PM | I don't no wear it is. I have like hundreds of discs of RPG stuff. I can't keep track what each one has on it especiouly when theres over 1000 files per one. |
| necrodude1610-15-04, 10:12 PM | A shadowy figure unmelds with the shadows on the wall revieling himself. Followed by a halfling sized shadow: he greets each of you. He sends his shadow outside to fetch something. The shadow walks through the wall and returns a few minutes later carrying a small chest. I am the great necromancer, Gak Seriggan. He reaches deep in to the chest, his arm looks like it should have come out the other side of the chest but hasn't. He pulls out a very old looking book. I present to you the book of the dead. The artefact that can insure our place at the top of the current guild war |
| thasis11-16-04, 08:32 PM | "People, what do you think of allying with the Guild of Ultimate Evil? They are are type since Necromancers are primarily (not always though) evil" |
| Dyne11-16-04, 09:18 PM | Hmmm. I don't understand why this foundation isn't merged with the Risen Dead Foundation. The two go together well. Anyway, I have a Vampire character with levels in Cleric, which he uses to become sort of a Necromancer. |
| thasis11-16-04, 09:47 PM | That counts. My evil character is a Cleric/Master of Shrouds. Clerics alone make the best Necromancers I think. |
| Xen15511-17-04, 11:35 AM | Would this guild in someway be connected to the Risen Dead Foundation? |
| thasis11-17-04, 05:56 PM | Not realy. My character who owns this guild is friends with Von Crown, the owner of the Risen Dead Foundation but we havn't struck a treaty of allyship or anything yet. Theres not enough members in this foundation to realy do anything such as being involved in IFGW. |
| Droga11-17-04, 06:18 PM | Who needs a lot of members when you can create massive armies of the dead with a few spells and a nice cemetary? |
| lightman11-17-04, 06:34 PM | Evil!? All there is is the power of the undead, and the men who will cease it, and the ones who will not. THASIS, how can you claim to be a necromancer(much less a guildmaster) with those views! Just so you know, my evil character is a necromacer/cleric/fighter who is scheming to take over the guild. My good character is the Lightman, a great champion of Pelor |
| thasis11-17-04, 10:36 PM | I never said that all necromancers are evil. Theres just a large portion of evil necromancers. |
| Dyne11-18-04, 03:39 AM | I never said that all necromancers are evil. Theres just a large portion of evil necromancers. Necromancy itself is not evil. Animating dead and manipulating undead, however, IS evil. Hence, Animate Dead, Create Undead, and Create Greater Undead are Evil spells, and Rebuke and Command Undead is an Evil Cleric ability. Neutral Necromancers can still use the evil powers, but Good Necromancers do not use Animate Dead or any of the other stuff. They use Necromancy for its Life aspect, not its Death/Undeath aspect. |
| lightman11-18-04, 04:26 PM | guys im just roleplaying my character. i myself think that necromancy is one of the most evil things to do in D&D. but my character is evil, but doesn't beleive that he is |
| Dyne11-18-04, 05:40 PM | guys im just roleplaying my character. i myself think that necromancy is one of the most evil things to do in D&D. but my character is evil, but doesn't beleive that he is I wholeheartedly agree. I also believe that Vampires are one of the most vile creatures in D&D, yet I play a Vampire Necromancer as a villain. |
| ShadowWarrior12-06-04, 05:13 PM | What the heck, I'll join, and my first contribution is for those non-evil necromancers out there (you know who you are). Orb of Disruption Sor/Wiz 5 (V, S, F) Range: Medium Duration: Instantaneous Effect: Energy Missle Target: One undead Description: This spell is a significant improvement over the mostly useless Disrupt Undead. Orb of Disruption deals 1d8/level (max 15d8) damage to a single undead creature as a ranged touch attack. This spell does not affect living beings, or non-living creatures that are not undead. Focus: A holy symbol (edit: I forgot the required focus, yes you read it right, the focus is a holy symbol (doesn't matter what one though, any will do) if you disagree you are free to change it for your games) |
| thasis12-07-04, 09:48 AM | Welcome ShadowWarrior to the ranks of the Necromancers. Nice new spell by the way. Looks pretty balanced. Keep up the great work. |
| ShadowWarrior12-16-04, 02:00 AM | Bump! |
| thasis12-16-04, 10:06 AM | I've been meaning for this to get activity. We need something to do. Are you going to get into the Inter-Foundation Guild Wars Shadow Warrior? |
| ShadowWarrior12-17-04, 11:50 PM | Excuse me if I sound like an idiot but what are you talking about? |
| thasis12-18-04, 12:26 AM | Also known as the IFGW. The IFGW is a magor war between many of the diffrent guilds. I run 2 main characters. One good and one bad. They verse each other in the war. Check it out and ask someone such as Silmarian. She will explain everything to you. |
| lightman12-18-04, 07:36 AM | maybe we should make new undead types, perhaps? |
| thasis12-18-04, 12:10 PM | That might be a good idea. I preferbly like undead as templetes because I think that the transission from Life to Undeath requires a templete change and not a downright automatic stats. Like would a skeloten of a commener be as good as a skeloten of a big barbarion with much combat experiance. Thats just my opinion though. |
| ShadowWarrior12-21-04, 05:00 PM | This is for all the RE fans in the crowd Infected (Template) Can be added to any corporeal undead hereafter reffered (sp?) to as the base creature. The base creature gains HD, feats and skill points at standard progression. Special Attacks: Contaminate: If a melee attack peformed by the base creature is successful, the victim must make a DC 30 fortitude save or suffer infection, an infected creature takes 1d2 points of CON drain per minute and 1d4 WIS + 1d4 INT damage per round (INT & WIS can't go below 3). An infected creature rises as a zombie with the infected template upon death. This can not be prevented by any magical cures currently known. LA:+2 (edit: added the fact that once contracted there is no cure, added the LA) |
| ShadowWarrior12-29-04, 07:01 PM | Bump! |
| ShadowWarrior01-02-05, 12:39 PM | *casts raise dead* |
| thasis01-02-05, 03:11 PM | Thasis the Evil walks into the Guild Halls. "I see that Shadow Warrior here is intressted in getting this foundation up and going. Well now that I have decided to return to everything... lets get going" Hey Shadow Warrior. Nice to see your efforts of getting this guild some attention. I've finnaly aswered your calls. To keep this foundation going we need something to do. Any ideas? |
| ShadowWarrior01-02-05, 04:13 PM | Well for starters we should find ways to enhance undead and their masters (most likely fiends of some sort, though there are plenty of evil mortals trying to create an undead army), variant alignment undead (for example, deathless versions of the traditional vampire, lich, and mummy), half-undead such as dhampir (human-vampire crossbreed), some new spells for arcane based necromancers to put them on a level where not everyone who wants to be a powerful necro has to be a cleric, and finally some feats that involve undead or combatting undead. |
| thasis01-03-05, 12:15 AM | Do you have the Libris Mortis book of undead. If you don't pick it up. It's not good for people like me who havn't updated to 3.5 yet (even though I bought the book) but thats why I'm going to read over the SRD. It has all sorts of asome stuff for undead and nercomancers. They redid the Palemaster, True Necromancer and Master of Shrouds wich is realy asome (I hope I didn't break the CoC by saying that) and they added all sorts of new Prc's. Check it out and hopefully buy it. Totally kick ass. Also for stuff we can do... I like all your ideas. If you have any other Necro stuff on the forums post links to them and then I'll put the links into the first post. Right now I'm creating a core class called the Necromancer and I need some help on it. If you could help that would be asome. New feats and stuff would be asome. By the way, the Necromancer class is going to be arcane wich is going to kick ass. |
| ShadowWarrior01-03-05, 01:32 AM | Sure I'll help with the core necromancer. IMHO each school specialization should be it's own core class (works flavor wise, for example, an evoker shouldn't know how to subtly disable the opponent's protection, he should just bash through the defenses with sheer overwhealming power). My idea for the core necromancer is to base it loosely off the standard wizard class, with flavorful and balanced changes. For example, instead of being able to gain a familliar the necromancer can get a skill bonus (maybe to hide or bluff cause a necromancer would be a fool to let his true identity be known), or change the skill list to include hide, move silently, bluff and disguise so that they can hide their true natures from potential vict... er servants, get some necromancy spells that create undead at a discount for a temporary period instead of having to make permanent undead which can get expensive if you want to have an army of the things. |
| ShadowWarrior01-03-05, 12:06 PM | bump |
| ShadowWarrior01-05-05, 07:09 PM | *casts Raise Skeleton Mage* "There, that should be enough to revitalize this place. MWAHAHAHA!" |
| ShadowWarrior01-09-05, 01:41 AM | *casts Raise Skeleton Mage 10x* "There, now let's see this die." |
| thasis01-09-05, 12:32 PM | You realy like this Guild don't you. Well since your so persistint... "I'm back!!!". Well lets get back to work. For the Necromancer I think he should have Low Fort, and Ref and High Will, Low Base Attack and D6 HD. |
| ShadowWarrior01-09-05, 07:38 PM | How about giving him an ability on par with the familiar ability of core wizards? I'm thinking something along the lines of: Skull Servant A 1st level necromancer can perform a special ritual that animates the skull of a medium or smaller creature at the cost of 100 gp in order to get the required ritual components. The ritual takes a day to complete and upon completion, instantaneously animates the skull used. A skull servant is two size categories smaller than the creature that the skull came from. No matter what kind of creature the skull belonged to, it has the following stats*. Skull Servant HD: Master's level HP: 1/2 master's HP AC: 12 (10+2 size bonus for being small) Ability Scores: STR: 10 DEX: 10 CON: n/a INT: 10 WIS: 10 CHA: 10 Natural Armor Bonus: Every four levels of the master, the skull servant gets +2 natural armor (this effectively increases it's natural armor bonus) Speed: 30 ft/round Attacks: Bite that deals 1d3 points of damage and an additional 1 point/master level. *these are stats for a skull servant that was created from a medium sized humanoid, a skull servant created from a small creature subtracts two points from each physical stat, use smaller die for bite attack and increases it's size bonus to AC, hide and attack rolls. (if you don't like the name you can change it, I'm just using skull servant as a placeholder untill something better can be thought up) |
| thasis01-09-05, 09:49 PM | I rather like the idea. I have nothing to add at the time but as soon as possible I'll start to get some more stuff. I'm thinking about a very limited spell list (except when it comes to Necromancy) but in return they get numereous special abilities. Thats just my idea though. |
