Inside an active volcano, you see a building built into the sides of the crevice, with beings swimming around in the lava far below. In one of the magma pools higher up, you see a demonic being sitting in it with what appears to be a coconut shell in one hand and just laying back in the magma. Above the volcano, in smoke, there are the words "Pyros Anonymous, here to keep your actions involving fire anonymous."

If this takes off, I'd like King's Pyre.

Excellent. I think I know a few salamanders that can deal with construction, so we should have the inner volcano cone with rooms built into the walls soon.
@Priest: okay, although I will just say that the guild hall's going to be built into the inner walls of the volcano, so you might want to have any characters here invest in some heat protection.

Yes, although the terrain might not be wizard friendly (volcano). My suggestion? Fireproof your books.

@ DF: i realize both of those facts DF, and im working on a plan to to make my effigies aquatic/ and immune to the elements but only the 3 kytons, because the Slaymaster is going to become somewhat of a hazmat suit(lmao) for Priest. the rest(Wyvern/BBs) will stay in Tortuga.

jagggar concentrates, her armor manifesting. She begins a quiet chant paired with meticulous gesticulations.
"Ah, screw it." She snaps and a half-red in tattered priestly robes lands at her feet, writhing as though pinned by a powerful opponent.

"Wha?! Th-the creature? What has happened? Where am I?" He looks around frantically as he sits up until his eyes come to rest upon jagggar. "You. . . ?"

"Hi, Aki," she grins.

Our half-red seems half-stunned, half-scared.

"Get up and introduce yourself, boy. Just because I haven't been around since Kurapa took over doesn't mean I don't know you raised yourself better than this, Akaryu."

Akaryu slowly stands showing a small build for a half-dragon. He is of the dragon-y with humanoid form rather than humanoid with scales breed. Behind him he stretches his wings, exetremely rare on a half-dragon of his size. On his chest dangles a black field with a seven-pointed star upon it. "I am Akaryu, a servant of Her Mercy."

Here, it's Crowley. Nhyris is only the GoUE.
@Jagggar: He probably assumed that your character was female, and since he has a half dragon as well, it's working on the basis that they are brethren because they're both of draconic descent.
Standing up and getting out of the magma pool, you first find yourself relieved that it's wearing fireproof pants. Then, you realize that the pool's depth just dropped by about a foot, and that it must have been crouching in the pool, since it's still about five feet taller than the tallest person here, at least. Oh, and that it's an oni.
Greetings, Akaryu. Name's Crowley, leader of the Council of Archmages and this guild.
With that, from seven feet away, the fiend offers one of four hands to the half dragon.
Pleased to make your aquaintance.

It's a volcano in the ocean off the coast of the mainland, the closest part of which is the HorcHound Jungle.
Just to give Aki some idea of jagggar's standing...
Lady Jagggar here is one of the three "God Moderators", or as we call them, "GMs". The other two are Lord Sssargoth and Lord Necrodude. The name of the land is Tyrannor, which is governed mainly by guilds. Recently, the king has decided to retire, and he has left no heir, so we are fighting a war of guilds to see who is fit to rule and who isn't.

Wait, that means a Drow is trying to become Queen of the continent....
Orcy The Green Wonder

12-01-05, 11:05 AM
The Wave Lord slithers onto the island and looks toward Crowley. It nods as it peers around the island at the other things gathered upon it.
"I tink ya be knowin da speech dat I be makin here demon ting. It be de same one I be givin ta dem at dat outpost ting in da hooman city. Don't be messin up me sea and I won't be messin wit ya eeda."

On another note... Effigy suit? That effigy isn't a suit. Priest is currently sitting inside of gears and other clockwork peices, which if he forced his way inside he'll be breaking. It isn't waterproof either, so there isn't much of a way to be swimming around in it without drowning though it can swim if it has a swim speed. Finally, what army? Orcy has repeatedly said that he will not build anything without specifics. You have repeatedly ignored that, so there is nothing at all in the works for you.

The Wave Lord looks over toward the man called Akaryu. Slithering across the rocks he approaches, circling the man and stopping inches from his face.
"Because fightin be what we be born ta do. When we be born we begin to die, it be de way of Gajal to be fleeting. Hoomans and de oder land walkers be short of Gajal, while we be lastin for long time. But we all be endin some time. Fightin get ya de most it can when ya be filled with Gajal. For de land walkers, fightin be a matter of what ya be tinkin. If ya be tinkin in a way dat de oder land walkers not be likin, den ya be fightin. Dat not what ya be fightin for, it what ya be tinkin don't be matterin. Fightin be for de honor, for de pride. Just hammering the point across, Jagggar.
Akaryu, you assume all of us want to protect. I used to run the Guild of Ultimate Evil, until retiring, and how much do you think they'd wish to protect?
@Orcy:
Don't worry, I have no interest in the water. Personally, I dislike the thought of being near it, having my form composed out of fire. The worst that will happen from here is the occasional volcanic eruption, and that's only due to being in a volcano that's active.

Akaryu shakes his head. Spending more time in temples than out in the world had given him few answers to those who saw fightng as a way of life.

"Well then by all means, use 'Lord'."

"If you are not fighting to protect, then it is unlikely you care if you cause harm." He turns to jagggar, "Why have you brought me here?"

"Come now, Aki-kun," she says running her hand over his chest. He jerks back. "They've told you enough to make you fear me. Surely you know I don't hang out with goodie-two-or-more-shoes. And I've given the rest of your family how many reasons for all I've done?"

"I want to go home."

"Home to die? Sorry, I won't do that. Kairi's a big girl who can take care of herself in case it's her you're worried about." There be no problem wit hurtin de enemy, no matter why he be de enemy. Fightin be a part of de world. It be what we make de livin on. It be de way dat kingdoms rise or fall. A blue gate opens, and three figures step out of it. One is a solar, wearing glasses and with a giant greatsword strapped to its back, just looking around. Another is an elf woman, who looks to be middle aged and is fretting over the last member of the group, who is apparently the son of the two, and appears, by human standards, to be in his mid 30s early 40s.
Where is that cur, Crowley? He shall face defeat by my...ow, mommy...
He begins jumping up and down, his feet too hot in the full plate armor he wears to a VOLCANO. A longsword lies across his back, although it seems to have never been used...
Crowley sticks his head through the red portal, and then, with many mutterings and cursings, grabs the area between his three eyes and steps out of the portal, unfolding to his complete height.
Hey. What do you want now?
The hatred and anger in his voice going to such levels that it very nearly manifests as acid in his breath, just lacking enough magic to do so.

Beware of those who made their highschool senior anthology on fiction as a satire on the real world.

Yes! The reaction I was looking for! :w00t:
Ah, the cowardly beast-
The solar clamps a hand over the half celestial's mouth, with a look of disgust on his face towards that which he spawned. He looks at Crowley with a look that says, basically "why couldn't he be more like you", before speaking.
Hello, Crowley. How're you?
The druidess, on the other hand, points at the Oni and begins cursing and calling him a "disgrace upon the family", when he was never part of the family originally, what with the whole dagger to the face as an infant thing. Crowley turns to look at the solar, and says
Hey, Aziraphale. Same as ever?

Better than how he lost his arm. That was his biological father (took the mother via rape) tearing it off and beating him near death with it and then selling him to another demon as a slave/appetizer. The high point of his first 550 years was being stabbed, which is kind of sad...
The half celestial begins trying to wriggle out of the hold on his mouth, but fails until the Solar is addressed by the woman
Let go of his mouth, dear.
The solar rolls his eyes, and lets go of the babbling fool's mouth, at which point the half celestial draws his blade and yells
Defend thyself, fiend!
Before charging, being sidestepped, and being picked up by one of Crowley's upper arms and bodily flung back, landing on his back in front of the elf lady, who begins shaking with rage.
Crowley! I am your mother and-
Then she's cut off by growling from Crowley
You forfeited that the day you stabbed me and left me for dead, Esilvane.

"Really Crowley-Sensie, makeing eniemes again?"
A tall Elf in a Dark Blue cloak walks out from a Gate spell. You can see little more than the lean Elf form and none of his face currently.
"Thank you for the doorway Wanderer."
The Elf then bows to the Gate, but you cant see anyone inside it. He then turns toward the Druid and makes a graceful bow much like that of the standered Wood Elf Style.
"Milady you must parden my Sensie's rudeness. Tell me why does he hate you as such, I have only just returned from travel and know little of the world's happenings as I was gone."

The half celestial, opening his eyes, begins crying, and Esilvane begins crooning and healing the small scrape that the paladin got from being flung. Apparently, Crowley's very good at calculating such throws so that they cause as much pain as he desires at the moment. Once again, Crowley grips the bridge of his nose, muttering
Gods, how is that idiot related to me?
Seeing Zombomaniac's character come through the portal, he turns and looks at him.
This is Esilvane, my biological mother. The whining piece of turd in fullplate's my half brother, and Aziraphale over there's my step father by marriage to my biological mother.
The reason she is my enemy is because she tried to stab me to death after giving birth to me.

Enough of your trickery. DIE!!!
As he charges again, this time Crowley just catches the blade as it is clumsily swung at him, so clumsily that he has to actually reach a foot in front of him to catch it, and then, with his other hand and other claws, slices the blade off at the hilt, a look of unamusement on his face.

For those of you just tuning in: Maloch is the half celestial. He is a momma's boy paladin that can't take a hit, has pitiful stats, still lives in his parent's house being 350 years old, and really is a paladin only because he managed to make a creature laugh itself to death.
Esilvane is the elf druid. She is the biological mother of Crowley and Maloch. She only comes into contact with Crowley when her younger child, Maloch, tries to kill Crowley, and hadn't had any contact with before that except for birthing and stabbing him.
Aziraphale is a solar that has just had enough of the patheticness. He has tried to teach Maloch to be strong and independent, but Esilvane keeps sabotaging the attempts. He sees Crowley as what his son could have been, and sees Crowley as more of a son than Maloch.

Of course, there's no garuantee that he will be the smae person when I'm done, but he should atleast put up a fight for lord crowley. The half celestial barely makes it up the volcano, trying to fly in heavy armor. He goes to open his mouth, but is grabbed by Crowley, has a hook and rope attached to his armor's lower torso, and is then forcibly tossed off the cliff, suddenly stopping due to the rope hard enough to distort the armor, giving him a medieval wedgie.

A boat with a strange vaguely head-shaped red symbol on the back, an odd little old gnome, and a quantity of seawater appears suddenly at the inner rim of the volcano. Cursing in various languages, the old man jumps out of the boat and mutters something that causes the boat to collapse into a small box, which he quickly stuffs into his pack.

Standing about a foot off the ground, he quickly thanks the dragon that transported him here (annoyed though he is, he is wise enough to show courtesy to a dragon when appropriate - which is just about any time it's not eating you) and begins marching towards the cooler outer rim and probably the beach after that.

Dare I ask what manner of beast this 5th Order is, precisely?

The old man watches Crowley's antics with his Paladin-bait, and feels sorry for the shark.

"Fishing, you say? Sounds like a hoot."

After rummaging about in his pack for a moment, he pulls out a large worn tacklebox and his bamboo pole. He carefully selects a lure ("Artificial for me. There's nothing wrong with live bait, per se, however," he says as Crowley casts his Paladin again, "I can't abide the screaming.") from amongst a plethora of multicoloured lures of varying shapes and sizes. After methodically attaching the lure to his line, he corks the barb and scouts out a good casting location.

"If he were actually that weak it seems like he'd be dead by now. But I have trouble feeling sorry for paladins in general - those who choose to live in extremes bring extreme situations upon themselves more often than not," he says matter-of-factly as he expertly reels in his lure, pulling the rod left then right in slow rhythm, occasionally pausing altogether. Every so often the end of his pole twitches with a bite and he nods his acknowledgement.

Muckdweller: weaker, smaller, and all around less powerful than a kobold in melee (no offense, kobold fans).
Lizard king: half fiend lizardfolk, specific race from Serpent Kingdoms.

Silimna smiles. She rearranges the tresses of her silver-white hair as she touches the blue stone pendant around her neck. The stone is almost incandescent, burning with a hallowed silvery blue radiance, and it is set in the familiar silveryblue metal, forged in the smithies of the Pereldar. No doubt at Peredhil Halls, where the Loremasters ever tend to the channeling of energy from the Positive Energy Plane.

Silimna looks at jaggar, with unwavering glance "boredom does not become thee" she teases "for where there are gods watching down upon us, let us not bore them. Instead, a show they need, to entertain them while the aeons pass by as the Immortal folk attend to their minions"

Silmarien smiles at her cousin, and Varendil looks warmly at both his aunt and mother. So assembled, you can see the familiar features of the bloodline that is Silmarien and her kin.

Also how did you get in the Volcano? Appear out of Meta-gamed air as usual?
Mabye you should check stuff more offten since Silimna is dead so she cant smile or have a overly long description of a hunk of stone.

Tell me. Whenever you are attacked IC, or things are other wise not going how you like, why is it that you conveniently "haven't checked" anything?

Also how is it that though you "haven't checked" anything that you can always pop in at the persice moment that things might (and it is a big might) go your way.

Honestly you are never here, but the exact moment something useful shows up you are magicly here and the exact moment something bad happens you are gone.
Why I ask. Why!? Why can you not just stay here and face your problems with conviction and determination? Stand tall and take the attack. If you may die then you die with the only things that matter, your honor and the respect of those around you, but low and behold you run from the sighting of a mouse and cry wrongs upon us for not removing the mouse for you.

No sense in being antagonistic. Since most everyone knows that the aforementioned character is no longer part of the official IFGW (such as it currently is), does it really matter if said character appears out of "meta-gamed air"? Need I point out that there are a number of RP personalities around here that pop in and out without being an official part of the game? Peace, Z. A little more Zombo and a lot less maniac. The Power of an Apololgy

Aplogies aren't given always, just because someone did (not) intend hurt, insult or harm. Mature people recognise that one bestows an apology as a tool for enacting reparations, when, inadvertently, damage has been done.

Many times in my time, I've apologised, knowing that it opens a place in the 'other' to rise above non-forgiveness.

Many times in my time, I've also apologised for things I did deliberately, to hurt, harm or otherwise.

It *always* takes two to tango, and an apology for "my part in what happened" respects that there are always two in a tango, whilst not taking responsibility for more than one's fair share. It also respects that there are *always* more than one way of looking at a situation, and recognises that *no one* is the keeper of "truth" ultimately about the "right and wrong" of a scenario or situation.

It's not very hard to say sorry, when one has the personal resources, insight and wisdom to use an apology.

Without apologies, we fail to grow as people and we end up self-righteous.

Apologies keep us humble and keep arrogance in check.

So, is that supposed to be an apology for your part in what happened? It sounds like it's trying to be, but keeps tip-toeing around the issue. Not that I think it matters. Water is perfectly capable of flowing under a bridge whether you're standing on it or not. That almost sounds like it orta be a hobbit saying.

It's not very hard to say sorry, when one has the personal resources, insight and wisdom to use an apology.

Without apologies, we fail to grow as people and we end up self-righteous.

Apologies keep us humble and keep arrogance in check.

It could be true. I almost never apologize for my actions, and I'm pretty arrogant and self-righteous (though hopefully not maliciously so most of the time). But then, even in all my arrogance, I'm also not arrogant enough to demand apologies from others.

And I won't make any claims of being mature. However, I will observe that in my experience apologies are something adults make children do; whereas adults can often move past an incident simply by accepting that it happened and quietly getting on with life.

And there I go spouting off my philosophy as gospel. Told ya' I was self-righteous. ;)
Silmarien Aldalome

01-28-06, 07:57 AM
well - it's to state the obvious, I think, that things have gone down - that a sorry would really help with.

When their delivered right, conditions aren't put on them.

*looks at reader*

This next bit's for u. Here's my apology to you - for my part in any event that left you feeling discomforted or upset.

Any time, any place, anywhere. And for my part in any of those unfortunate events - and no more than my part.

My apology to you.

To help you feel just a little better about something, and to contribute to your wanderings, in a way where ur given a kind of care, that maybe u don't expect to find from ur experiences with others.

Orcy The Green Wonder

Orcy is still confused on what exactly it is you believe everyone and everything owes you an appology for. You were in game at a place when you suddenly up and disappeared. You checked back many times during the points in which our shadowy friend was attacking you. Yet you didn't check the thread, nor did you respond politely to posts telling you that you should check it. Of which there were many. Then, when you return again you continue to claim that you have no knowledge of what is happening. Once its clear that nobody believes that, you wish the GMs to 'rewind time' so you can prepare a lot of defenses and use two additional characters to defend yourself. When you continue to refuse to roll, the GMs roll the save for you, as is their right as the GMs. Orcy doesn't exactly see where this request for an appology comes in. Nobody has done you wrong in this, other than the occasional insult flung your way by one of our less controled posters or whatever you'd wish to call them. Lets just put this behind us and get on with it, nobody is going to give you an appology for this, they don't need to. Two things can happen now. You can accept this, or you can rant about something, lose what little respect people still have for you here, and run off to return later and demand more. It would appear the 'ball is in your court' now.

Just below, is the Forum Guidelines I was adhering to when I came to post to keep the GM company

They are on the sticky, this forum, and I understand they still apply to this forum, and actually are an umbrella set of guidelines for general posting.

My post, IC - was Forum Compliant.

Thank you

Foundation Board Guidelines

As was noted in the New Guidelines for Foundations on the Wizard Community thread, as the moderators on this board, we truly feel that the foundations can provide insightful discussion and contributions to how a subject matter can be addressed. However, it has been noted that some there should be a forum where guests should be allowed to discuss rules while (a) allowing in character role-playing voice and/or (b) in an atmosphere that allows some fraternal bonding. This is what this new Foundation board is all about. However, at the same time, threads on this board will still also need to meet the other requirements of the Code of Conduct. Thus, please note the following changes to how foundation threads will be moderated on the foundation board (note: the below is only valid on the foundation board - the threads will be moderated as normal on all of the other boards):

1. As with the New Guidelines, foundation will not be exclusionary when it comes to membership. Wizards Community actively promotes inclusivity of members into all forums on the boards, except where there is age limit due to board content. Thus, there will be no “black-listing” of new members or “kick out” of an existing member. This is pretty much how most of the foundations run at this time, and thus there should be nothing new here.

2. If you desire, please role-play in character within a thread on the Foundation thread if it helps express your point.

3. If your foundation desires, please issue membership numbers or any other designation for the foundation if it helps instill a fraternal order. Thus, posts such as “Can I join?” and “Sure, here’s the listing of all of the members …” (usually considered Spam posts) will be allowed on this Foundation board.

4. Please keep the majority of all posts on the subject matter of the foundation. The occasional off-topic response will be permitted if the purpose is to build up a sense of comradeship. However, if you wish to mask a completely off-topic thread, please keep in mind that there is “The Rec Room” which would be a more appropriate board for such a thread.

5. Foundations that promote negativity will not be allowed on the boards. For example, foundations such as “The Anti-Foundation Foundation”, “The 3.5 is better than 3.0 Foundation”, “The Pro-Dwarf Slaughtering Foundation” are not allowed. Also, the foundation must deal with WotC products – no “The Professional Football League Foundations”.

6. Each foundation must develop and adhere to a charter – a goal for the foundation. (all “just hanging around” doesn’t count) Possible examples would be that a Kuo-toa Foundation would be “To promote the use of Kuo-toas in the game of Dungeons and Dragons by developing prestige classes, skills, templates, kill combos, unique spells, unique weapon, campaign worlds (communities), and NPCs for Kuo-toas as well as thought-provocative conversation concerning the race.” Keep in mind we noted that the foundation must adhere to the charter as well. They’re not meant to be meaningless words.

7. Keep in mind that the above noted relaxation of the rules only applies to this Foundation board. When posting on the any of the other boards, all threads must abide by all the rules called out on the Code of Conduct. Furthermore, unless otherwise noted above, all other rules in the Code of Conduct apply to the Foundation board as well.

The key thing is if you feel you can only post in this new posting style, please post as so here and refrain as posting in this style on the other boards. At the same time, if you don’t like this new posting style, please don’t post such views on the Foundation board. There are several other Wizard Community boards that allow the standard posting style.

Note that foundations that do not follow these new guidelines will result with those foundation threads being closed. Continued violations may result in further disciplinary action, which may include official warns and possible loss of screen names.

This is your one shot toward making a board like this work. While on the Players Handbook board, some foundations developed some very powerful material and promoted some interesting discussions. Hopefully this type of environment will help promote and accelerate this type of activity. Let’s make this shot count. Best of luck.

More stuff on half dragons, there's the dragonborn (who can breathe fire), kobold sorcerors (sorceror+fire=natural attraction), draconic grafts (I mean, come on, there's got to be something that allows you to breathe fire with those)...dragons are inherently involved in primal elements. That simple.
Dragons are essentialy elementals combined with a warm blooded lizard.
Actually, in one campaign world, there are only one of each dragon. If any one of those die, the opposite of them (red-silver, bronze-black, etc) triples in power and tips the balance of the cosmos to the other element. So if the gold dragon was killed, the entire cosmos would start to freeze over.

So what about the dragon gods?

The dragons were essentially gods, just in mortal form.

You can't seriously think the Dragon gods apply to every campaign setting, can you?

No, but then again, you can't always be certain which ones are applicable.

And this is different from the normal state of things somehow?

They can potentially grant spells to their followers?

Pfft. Dragons do that now. They just do it in a more recreationally Zeus-like fashion. Hence the half-dragons, dragonborn, kobolds, and sorcerors in general.

Strangely enough, that would explain it.
I was reading through the kobold chapter, and realized that I enjoy the kobold mindset. I dislike gnomes (going through a gnomish city that's underground, and I've already set off painful traps the hard way), like any form of dragon, and can take or leave any of the others depending on situation.

So, was the in-game-ish conversation dead? 'Cuz Mordred was going to show up soon...

Everything's more or less dead, here.
