| necrodude1611-13-04, 06:52 AM | This is an incharacter rpg kinda thing. Come talk forge alliances or make enemies. The Ball The lower floors of Lady Nairobi, Flower of the Morning, Lady to the Queen, Heiress of House Nairobi, Ruler of the Seven Cities, among several other titles, were extravegent. Overly grand glass doors opened onto the main entance, with 2 foot vaulted ceilings, painted by (supposedly) one of the best artist to have ever lived - a life cut well short after e was discovered to be having an affair. There were silk and gold thread tapestries on the walls, taking up almost the entire space form floor to ceiling; vases worht more than an entire city were displayed on inlaid gold on ebony tables, carved in the most equisite shapes. The floor itself was of green marble, imported thouseands of miles from the mines of Iilictia, and polished daily. 30 foot wide stairs led to the next floor, with its equalily lavish and extensive rooms, the centrepoint of the level being the ballroom, said to be as big as - or even equal - the King's itself, not a small boast, considering he had spent 15 years buliding it. It was truly enourmous, occupying a third of the floor, with the softest of couches, beautiful chairs, and the finest tables money could buy spread around the room, though more toward the edges, and constantly being spread with fine pates, caviar, truffles, roast turkeys, and the like, by a never ending army of servents. Other servents moved about the two floors, carrying trays continaing any number of items, from small waterbowls for finger cleaning, various exotic fruits, the latest fashionable liquors and wines, and various messages being passed between guests. Other servents awaited at the entrance to take coats, hats and jackets, to polish shoes, as well as to lead people to wherever they may wish to go. Standing near these were the House Guards, very much for show this evening rather than anything else, resplendant in their livery, gold and red, emblazoned with polished silver. The Ball had truly commenced, with dignitaris and nobles from within the kingdom and even a select few from outside the kingdom. The ruse of 'for freinds only' was an old one, it just served to keep the minor political gamers away, to not disturb those with actual power, and while this reduced the number significantly, there were srill a very large amount of people arriving by the minute, in the most expensive dress they could afford. Delwyn had seated himself by this hustle and bustle, sending a servent to bring him a chair, situated by the door, from which he watched all those who entered and went out. He carefully observed who talked to whom, and how real those conversations were, rather than something to throw a watcher of the track, but Delwyn had a lifetime of training. Delwyn occasionally started up a conversation himself, sometimes serious, sometimes to soemone he didn't know, the old ploy to get rid of someone, and also had several serious appearing ones with minor players, to make it seems that they were in with him, again to throw people, and another trick he occasionally threw was to have an obviously fake conversation with one of his allies, a trick which only the most experienced of people could pick up. There were a few of them at the ball, all surroptisiously watching each other to see what they were up to, while taking fingerfoods and having a conversation at the same time. Lady Nairobi was one of these, as was Delwyn, and there were a few others scattered around, including a couple of foreigners, interestingly enough. Some people would come and start a conversation with Delwyn, mostly those of little or monor power, trying to gain alliances, or to appear important; these Delwyn pretended to have an ear for, while twisting anything he said to his advantage, gaining minor favours here and there, which could ahve some use later on, unknown to any at this time. But most of the guests had arrived by now, and were heading upstairs to the ballroom, so Delwyn followed, eager to take part in the political battles that might follow.. |
| necrodude1611-13-04, 06:52 AM | Now heres bait. |
| thasis11-13-04, 01:05 PM | A tall pit fiend enters the main room. "Hello, I am Thasis as you probally know. I have decided to come to this ball if you will accept a Pit Fiend. Just a quick question. What are we supposed to be doing here". |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 01:30 PM | {A fey'ri (part demon/part elf) enters the room, his wings draped like a cloak around his body. Underneath is a black robe that looks like a trenchcoat, and in his hand is a masterwork cane, with a dragon as the head.} Greetings. I am Crowley, as you probably don't know. How are you, Thasis? |
| Droga11-13-04, 01:39 PM | A man in extravagant robes, beatifuly designed black robes trimmed with gold. From the sleeves of these robes, long black claws came part of a set of gloves he wore. Quite a strange fashoin to be sure. Behind him followed another man, he wore a form fitting outfit. Light did not seem to reflect from it and it covered the majority of his body. His cloak seemed to be made of the same material. Upon his head he wore a black strap across his eyes. He followed behind the man in the fancy robes. They both headed up the stairs and into the ballroom, glancing at the pit fiend as they passed by him. The main man, looked about the room at the people gathered and a slight smile spread across his face. This might be... "fun" after all. I wonder how loud I could make them scream...Droga smirked at his own thoughts then continued on. The man behind him following, his face set and hard, not a smile crossing it. Droga is using alter self to make himself look like a medium sized aasimar (with strange tastes in clothing). Note that you cannot detect his alignment, the same as the undetectable alignment spell. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 01:44 PM | Droga, behave yourself. Necrodude is a judge, I am a fire elemental savant with genocidal tendencies, and Thasis is one of his pit fiend incarnations. Don't do things you will regret here. |
| Droga11-13-04, 01:50 PM | Luckily that wasnt in character since you cant read my thoughts, maybe see through the spell, but cant read my thoughts :P |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 01:52 PM | I have heard enough from your character to take a well placed guess at what he's planning, though. |
| Droga11-13-04, 02:02 PM | The man kept walking, completely ignoring the Fey'ri who had called him Droga. After all, he wasnt Droga tonight. None should know who or what he truely was. Of course, it was inevitable that some would use magics to identify him. But that did not matter in his mind. All the better that they know what it was that tore their worlds apart. Droga did so love parties... |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 02:22 PM | {He goes and taps Droga on the shoulder} Droga, you do realize that the hands give you away, as well as the fact that you seem to be absorbing all light around you. Trust me, its the little things in a disguise that make it useless, and I didn't even have to use magic. On another note, you don't know who else could be attending, and if you decided to maim the wrong person, it could be one of those things that cause a person's life to end prematurely. Please just pay attention to this, because I hope to use this place to make alliances. |
| Droga11-13-04, 02:34 PM | "Droga? Who is Droga? I am Emeraude Moonlight Demarcus the Third. What about me absorbing light? I seem to see the light just fine. Oh, you must mean around my friend here. Yes, I met him on the road. Hired him to be my bodyguard tonight. Never know who might be around. The hands? These are just gloves, magical ones at that. Can't seem to get the blasted things off. After I put them on the buclkes disappeared! Oh, how ugly they are. But I make the most of it, they can be really usefull for snatching snacks." He reaches out and sticks one of the fingers through some fruit, bringing it back up infront of him. "Care for some fruit? You see, I do not believe I am who you think I am friend. I would looove to be rid of these horrible gloves, but have not found a mage that could remove them... without destroying them of course. I would rather keep them for memories and all that. Oh well..." He turns and begins to walk away. The other man leaning close to Crowley's ear, and whispering to him. "Lord Droga may be a very violent man, but he knows an oppourtunity for allies when he sees one. He will do nothing to disrupt that unless things go a bit... wrong. No matter how much he would enjoy killing everyone here." The man stood back up to full height and followed after "Emeraude." |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 03:05 PM | {Sighs, and goes after them. He gets to the "guard", and says to him} He does realize that he can just come in as his true form, right? No one cares what you are as long as you are polite. Also, he realizes that people who notice his real form when he has disguised himself like that will be suspicious, and think he might have hostile intent, does he not? These are just a couple things I thought I should bring up. Who's Delwyn? My character's name is Crowley. |
| Droga11-13-04, 03:32 PM | The man leans over and speaks to Crowley again. "For one, he feels people would be less frightened by something that isnt sixteen feet tall with claws bigger than they are. He knows that many would be more suspicious of that than of some man. Besides, he can always lie his way out of it." Ya know... bluff check vs sense motive. Like you should be making. And whoops, I said Delwyn instead of Crowley... heh. First post got into my head I guess. I'll edit that. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 03:40 PM | One of the characters here is an undisguised pit fiend. Also, necrodude16 is the only one here who I don't think is in the guild of evil. |
| Dyne11-13-04, 03:51 PM | An Elf in Emerald Green robes enters the place and has a look around. He walks with a staff, leaning on it as a walking stick. "Crowley, have you seen Delwyn? I'm certain he was supposed to arrive some time ago." Delwyn is Bait the Bard's character. |
| Droga11-13-04, 03:53 PM | Theres going to be more people, from different guilds showing up. Right now theres only us, but if you think thats all theres going to be, well you will very likely be wrong. Whats wrong with keeping some people on their toes and suspicious, I think it adds to the roleplay a bit. So let me play my character how I want to. You wont be changing my mind... so... yeah. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 06:15 PM | Alright. Just thought I'd give it a shot. @Dyne: He went upstairs into the room near the balcony. |
| Bait the Bard11-13-04, 06:47 PM | Certainly there were some interesting people here tonight, mused Delwyn, as he watched the late arrivals from a balcony on the second floor, sipping a glass of fine red wine, subtly spiced with some unusual herb. The party of female mages, clothed in white, that had arived sometime earlier had aroused some intrest, they being a group of the 'White Mages', an order of healer mages, with an unheathy political intrest. More interesting still was the Pit Feind that had turned up earlier, obviously some form of wizard in disguise, whom most ignored, and the cleverer ones divined, then ignored. he must have been new to the political scene, for, while accepted, wizards turning up in a guise was seen to mean that they were to proud of themselves, or scared of someone finding out about him. Still, no matter. There was an assimar who had arrived as well, causing comment for his outlandish dress, and the fact that no one appeared to know him. Unusual certainly, for new or minor political players very rarely turned up to these 'Balls'. One worth keeping an eye on.. Delwyn was disturbed out of his musings by the arrival of Dyne, his fellow mage from the Council, if slightly out of his depth in political situations, he came in handy sometimes. Still, there were a few people he should meet here, and as the 'official' representie of the council, various polite conversations had to be made. "Ah, welcome Dyne. I trust you are well? Good.. Did you wish to see me about something, otherwise we should head over to the ballroom, I have some people I should introduce to you, you know how it is." Indicating Dyne to take a seat with him, Delwyn sank into the red and gold couch, signaling a waiter, who brought over some sweetmeats and mulled wine, which Delwyn liberaly took. At least the food was good here, thanks to the virtual army of cooks located in a wing of the mansion. Then Delwyn turned back to Dyne, and leaned in to hear what he would say.. |

| Droga11-13-04, 07:01 PM | As Emeraude, Droga approached nobles and began conversations with them. Learning as much as he could about these mortal's political structures. Meanwhile, his 'bodyguard' stood by and kept an "eye" on the archmages in the room. It was more that he was watching them with his blindsight than actually looking at them of course, since he was indeed blind. He hadnt smiled all night and was simply standing by Emeraude, he had barely spoken at all either. Emeraude smiled and nodded to the people he had been talking with. Heading off away from them. He went up to the ballroom. Taking a seat at a table near the dance floor he watched the humans dance. His 'bodyguard' sitting across from him, watching the movement with his sightless eyes. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 07:07 PM | {I flit up to a balcony, holding a drink. He thinks to himself} I still hate crowds. They remind me of all those angry mobs that hounded me during my childhood. |
| Bait the Bard11-13-04, 07:14 PM | What about me? :( Well arn't you in your Guild of Evil character? If not, RP yourself in. ;) |
| Dyne11-13-04, 07:14 PM | Dyne refuses the sweetmeats offered to him by the servant. He disliked eating food from other people for the chance of it containing poison or some undesirable substance. Still, he would enjoy a few dishes during his time here. "Delwyn, my friend, I knew I should find you here. There is much political maneuvering to be done at this ball, and I would find it curious to see how you interact with the other guests. Still, it has been some time since I have heard your progresses in the political arena, and there are things that must be discussed. One of the most controversial things to be discussed is the conflicts between the Guild of Evil and the Half-Elven Foundation. Rumor has it that a member of the Guild of Evil has slain a Half-Elf and has declared war on the Half-Elven foundation. The High King himself has become involved, and he is deciding on how to proceed. It looks like there will be a trial for this member of the Guild of Evil to decide whether or not he is innocent of this crime, but there is also talk of a Death Match between this accused man (Shall I say man? He is more of a Devil) and a champion of the Half-Elven Foundation. I find that the latter would be much more interesting, but it would cause much more conflict between the Guild of Evil and the Half-Elven Foundation. The Guild of Pure Good is allied with the Half-Elven Foundation, and the Risen Dead Foundation is also allied with the Guild of Evil, but it is unclear as to whether they will get involved. Still, this whole mess looks like it will blow up into a war that will tear the whole world apart. Stuck right in the middle is the Council of Archmages. We are officially allied with the Guild of Pure Good and the Half-Elven Foundation, and many of our members owe allegiance to either one, but we also have members that support the Guild of Evil. If this conflict blows, it could tear the Council in half. I don't want the Council to become officially involved, but many of the members will likely take sides anyway. I myself am a member of the Half-Elven Foundation and a supporter of the Guild of Good, but I may have to stay neutral for the sake of the Council." The Elf paces for a moment, deep in thought. He came in fine robes, the usual Emerald Green, leaving his staff and weapons behind for this social event. "But, these things can be discussed later. I see there are people to meet. Let us go to the ballroom." |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 07:28 PM | {Crowley spots Dyne, and glides over, landing in a vacant spot. He overhears the conversation about the war, and decides to join in.} You almost escalated it, Dyne. The gladiatorial idea was the only thing I could come up with on such short notice. The point I tried to raise is that good can't exist without evil, and vice versa. In truth, that is why this war would be so devastating. |
| necrodude1611-13-04, 08:02 PM | Delwyn, my friend and fellow archmage how are you this fine day? Turning around he notices Dyne and Thasis aswell. Good evening to you aswell. Turning further and spoting Emeraude he bows and introduces himself quite casually... I dont believe i've had the pleasure. I am Kayne Shadowborne. An archmage and planetouched. God of shadows and stuff, yeah so you are?? ;) |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 08:06 PM | Well arn't you in your Guild of Evil character? If not, RP yourself in. ;) I did, right after Thasis did. |
| Droga11-13-04, 08:07 PM | "God of shadows are you? Interesting. I am Emeraude Moonlight Demarcus the third. Here for a bit of fun, mayhaps a bit of business. We shall see we shall see. This..." Emeraude motions toward the man sitting across from him. "Is my body guard. I believe he said his name was Vadok. Of course, I'm not sure. Tis a pleasure to meet you." |
| thasis11-13-04, 08:49 PM | "My full name is Thasis Svall Tanis Al'Kahara Nether Sentint Shivis Carvolin Eviar but lets just for times sake call me Thasis." He then turns to Droga and Demonfay. "Pleasure seeing you here fellow comrades". |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 10:19 PM | Hey, thasis. {Points at Droga} He doesn't feel like acknowledging the fact that we know who, and what, he really is, so he'll deny that to the end. So, what's up? |
| Droga11-13-04, 10:22 PM | OOC: Mainly because you dont know who or what he is unless you can see through the magic effects on him... yeah... |
| Dyne11-13-04, 10:34 PM | OOC: Mainly because you dont know who or what he is unless you can see through the magic effects on him... yeah... *Casts True Seeing* "Hi there, Droga. I'm looking forward to our match. You should be a formidable opponent." |
| Droga11-13-04, 10:37 PM | *hits head* Metagaming... hurt... Droga.... head.... |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 11:12 PM | I tried to tell you, Droga... |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:14 PM | I figured the people on the boards were much better... and wouldnt Metagame. Like necrodude and bait didnt... |
| Dyne11-13-04, 11:16 PM | I figured the people on the boards were much better... and wouldnt Metagame. Like necrodude and bait didnt... I didn't metagame. My character is always very cautious (I've already stated this before), and your character's bizarre appearance especially put me on guard. |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:17 PM | Yes but it happening right after Demonfey and Thasis both said. Oh hey droga... without any magic. Just saying, oh look, its him. See the name of the poster gives it away, no matter what hes doing in game. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 11:18 PM | Care to drop the disguise now? Or will you persist in this failed attempt to conceal your nature, Droga? Also, the gloves do give you away, since you are the only person I have ever met with a pair of those gloves, Droga. And you forgot to mask the scent of death surrounding you. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-14-04, 12:23 AM | The High King put on a disguise before he teleported to the ball. He was dressed as an Archmage but he couldn't help but keep a since of royal bearing. He was of the race of Gold Elves and looked extremely powerful and arogant, trully fitting in with the nobles. The High King wanted to more about the rulers and powers of the land so he went without a distracting consort. He mingled with the crowed a bit using a sprinkle of magic here and there to truly get a better sense of whos who and whats what. He casually made his way over to his "fellow" archmage Dyne. In a very dominating tone he said "Greetings fellow Archmage Dyne. My name is Avaliar and I'm sure we've meet before..." Sorry Ava...I haven't made fun of a gold elf in months...I just had to take my anger out on somone :embarrass ;). -Frosty |
| necrodude1611-14-04, 01:58 AM | Greeting Avaliar ;) |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-14-04, 02:16 AM | The doors fly open as Orcy walks into the room. His armor beautifully designed. A black color with red running along it. In the center, the eye that was his symbol was set. A red gem in the center of the eye symbol. His hair was white with age, but he seemed as energetic as ever. He waved to some people as he entered, his metallic left arm scarred with battle. A scar running across his left eye. Orc smiled at the others as he entered. "Ladies, Gentlemen! Greetings! How goes your day, Orcy has come to have a bit of fun here. He hopes nobody will deny him that." Orcy goes to mingle with others. Grinning and making a few people walk away a bit disgusted at his stories of battle and death. He was a warrior after all, there was not much else but battle in his life for a long time. It was understandable that he spoke of it so freely. |
| Bait the Bard11-14-04, 02:16 AM | At least these people seemed to have something to talk about, mused Delwyn to himself, as he lifted a full glass of wine from a waiter. Dyne was well intentioned, but he did not have the feel for large scale political manouvering, so Delwyn decided to leave him to talk with whom he wished, a gain some hands on experience that way. After the ball Delwyn would tell him the more obvious mistakes he had made, so that he would hopefully learn from them. The news about the duel between the Guilds was interesting, though old, and it was good to hear from a different perspective. A war could be interesting, it lessened politicval activity, but it gave Delwyn a chance to show off his talents with a knife. And that Du=yne had told him about how he felt, that was certianly odd, he should have known by now that Delwyn would pnly use it to his advantage, or take no note of it, in this case the latter. Still, he might learn with time. As for the other archmage, what was his name, Deamonfey, barging into the conversation, while not overly rude, was a bit.. impertinent. Still, Delwyn had had worse in his time, but the other odd thing about it was that he seemed to be instantly on the defensive about his apparent suggestion, something to take note of.. Turning back from the waiter, Delwyn rejoined the conversation: "Good evening, Necromancer. I trust you are well this night? Old bones not getting to you, eh? At least the introductions are complete, so we can move, though prehaps not now, toward the bussiness end of the evening." Which was when Avarilar turned up, his old elven arrogance showing again, which he could not, or would not hold won. Elabouratly dressed as always in his elven finery, he certainly looked the part, though Delwyn knew how to bring that out of him with a quick word. Still, every man, and elf, had his weakness. "Ah, excuse me. I have important information to depart to our elf freind. I shall speak to you later, if I catch you. Kepp well." Delwyn turned and walked over to Avarilar, excusing him from Dyne, and took him to the other side of the room, where he motioned him to sit, taking a seat himself, and some small biscut handed to him off an engraved silver platter. He leaned foward over the glass table, the latest fashion, and in Delwyn's oppinion very likely to break, but each to their own. "Ahh, Avarilar. You are well I hope? I trust that you have not been wearing yourself out smuggling wine, or whatever dodgy things you getup to when I am not around?" A slight griin spread accross Delyns face as he said this last statment. It was an old joke between the two, and often brought up. "Still, there are more important matters to be talked off tonight. I have been expanding the Councils influence, though subtly, and have been keeping an eye on some of our old freinds. And yourself, how was the expedition to Lyleia?" |
| Dyne11-14-04, 11:20 AM | When Dyne spots Orcy in the crowd, he makes his way over. He found war and battles much more interesting than the usual political discussions at these parties. Perhaps he could get a few tales out of Orcy. "Hey, Orcy. I didn't expect to find you here, but it's much better nonetheless. I find these political discussions boring. All they're about is what who wants and what they will do to get it. I prefer the straightforwardness of war, something we seem to have in common. Do you happen to have any War Stories to pass the time?" |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-14-04, 05:27 PM | Avaliar tried to hide his grin as best as possible "Greetings my old friend..." Envoking magic he entacted a silent form of communication "Ha! World-Walkers you are you amuse me. Sad though what happen to the world of which you speak. The good of days smuggeling wine and such other peacefull activities are over...now were stuck in a world of suffering and death. Tis what happens I guess when you try to travel to places you shouldn't." |
| thasis11-14-04, 08:53 PM | "Hello Demonfay. How are you doing? I'm doing quite fine myself" |
| Demonfey11-14-04, 08:58 PM | I'm doing well, thasis. I've joined the half elven foundation, now, so I am officially unable to take part in a war between the two. |
| Von Crown11-14-04, 09:02 PM | The doors open and three people walk in. The first, on the right, is a well-dressed man in a tophat and tuxedo. What strikes you as more than a little odd is that where one would expect a head, there rests a jar of greenish-blue fluid in hich gently bobs a grayish lump of flesh- a brain. The second, standing in the middle, is a young-looking man dressed in a cloak, jacket, and trousers. On his head he wears a bandanna with a skull-and-crossbones motif, and from his right ear hangs a gold earring of a similar design. The third, all the way to the left, appears to be a young girl of about fourteen, dressed in a fine silk gown, in a style quite unknown in this land (a kimono). Her long black hair falls around her somewhat pointed ears, and her hands end in wickedly sharp claws. The three walk out into the ballroom, and the man speaks to the girl. "Kadena, why don't you show me that new dance you've been learning? I'm sure you could find someone to dance with." He then inclines his head slightly to "Not Droga", and concentrates slightly, sending him a telepathic message. "Hmm, good attempt with the illusion. I can see why you might want to hide your true nature to avoid drawing undue attention to yourself. Not that it was an obstacle for me, mind you. Now, tell me, do you think the investigation is nearing a close? I hope we can find the one who was behind it soon." He grins, knowing that droga surley knew what he meant and that anyone using divinations to listen in would not know exactly what was implied. |
| thasis11-14-04, 09:17 PM | "It seems allys helpfull to me against the Half-Elven Foundation are running thin. We have Me and Droga and Soul Collecter (who hasen't posted in a eon). Thats it as I know" |
| Dyne11-14-04, 09:38 PM | "It seems allys helpfull to me against the Half-Elven Foundation are running thin. We have Me and Droga and Soul Collecter (who hasen't posted in a eon). Thats it as I know" "You should be careful with this war, Thasis. The Guild of Pure Good will surely back the Half-Elven Foundation, as well as many Archmages. It would be a shame to see the forces of evil wiped from the face of the planet so early." (by-the-way, what is the name of our planet?) |
| Demonfey11-14-04, 09:45 PM | I think it's time to rethink this war, thasis. Let's cut our losses here and work on strengthening our position before engaging in a true war. |
| Von Crown11-14-04, 09:52 PM | Out of the corner of your eye, a shadow sweeps around from behind Crowley, and Mordred is suddenly standing beside him. I am quite in agreement. I think a peace treaty would be well advised, for we have not had enough time to prepare ourselves. I do not want a war in which we are not fully and completely prepared. If you do not do something to stop this upcoming war, then you cannot hope to have my support in whatever battles may ensue." With that, he turns awary curty and walks back over to the couch where he sat before, and with a snap of his fingers is holding a wine glass full of a thick red liquid, from which he begins to sip. |
| Demonfey11-14-04, 10:01 PM | {I walk over to Mordred, and take a seat in a chair next to him.} That is why I negotiated the gladiatorial fight. It was either that, or possibly have the skygge attack for destroying Droga. I felt that I did quite well with the situation. Do you think I handled it the right way? |
| Von Crown11-14-04, 10:07 PM | Mordred grins, revealing a pair of rather pointy fangs. "I thought you handled the situation quite admirably. It is not that I do not see war as avoidable, merely something we an attempt to stave off as we prepare ourselves for it. I find that in the end worlds such as this one unavoidably come to war eventually, but it is rather rare to find one that can avoid it so long." |
| Bait the Bard11-14-04, 11:58 PM | "Indeed.. still, you have done well for yourself in this plane, though not quite to my tasting. As you have known, I always prefer to work behind the scenes, whereas you are now in the open. I notice you have passed a law to protect the forests; still fond of them?" Delwyn took a small sip form his glass - crystal glass, finely engraved, mind you - to wet his lips, then turned back to Avarilar. There were more important things to do here than talk to old freinds, even those who sported much power, as Avarilar did, and for a long time had, though on and off. "I don't suppose you have met Dyne, a new member of the Council? He is here, but as of yet lacks political aptitude, so I must introduce him to the correct people, you know how it is. Care to join me? We might even run into some old freinds." At Avarilar's nod of agreement, Delwyn rose of the pillowed golden chair and looked over the room, seeing Dyne talking to someone he had met before, though not a major political player, so he was unlikely to be revealing anything important. Moving through the crowd, moving aside for other guests, while servents moved quickly out of his way, Delwyn pointed out the occasional person to Avarilar, and gave a breif comentry concerning their current status, or soemthing else important or interesting. Reaching Dyne, Delwyn exused him from the conversation, and introduced him to Avarilar. "Dyne, I woudl like you to meet Avarilar - oh, you have already met. Well then, this makes it all the quicker. I have some people you should meet, as I said earlier, and Avarilar has decided to join us, he is an old freind of mine, so I could not refuse," said Delwyn, with a slight grin on his face at the end. |
| Dyne11-15-04, 12:11 AM | "Dyne, I woudl like you to meet Avarilar - oh, you have already met. Well then, this makes it all the quicker. I have some people you should meet, as I said earlier, and Avarilar has decided to join us, he is an old freind of mine, so I could not refuse," said Dekwyn, with a slight grn on his face at the end. "Then take me to these new people. I look forward to meeting them." |
| Droga11-15-04, 12:23 AM | 'Emeraude' shakes his head. Looking around at everyone he leans over and says something that sounds like growls, roars, and grunts. "Well, everyone seems to be insistent on blowing my cover. So lets give them what they want." Droga stands up. Looking around the room he raises his arms into the air. His body begins to grow and his clothes tear. His form shifts until he is 16ft tall, his claws as big as a man. He looks around the room with his glowing red eyes and grins. "Are you happy now my... 'friends'?" |
| Dyne11-15-04, 12:26 AM | 'Emeraude' shakes his head. 'friends'?" I'd rather see a Giant Fiend than an Aasimar with a poor taste in clothing. :D |
| thasis11-15-04, 09:31 AM | "I think you are rather correct. I should stop this war before it goes farther. I shall since a truce. I will never go as far as to sign a peace treaty though. That is beyond what I am willing to do." |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-15-04, 12:24 PM | Orcy grins widely at the mention of war stories. He laughs loudly and looks at Dyne. [i]"War stories? Of course Orcy has some. You don't get to live as long as Orcy has without seeing some battle! Theres even less a chance of that if yer a half orc like myself. Oh but Orcy has had many battles, he wouldn't know where to begin. He could tell you about that time with the demon prince. Or maybe that vampire lord. Hmm... perhaps that other time.." Orcy goes on mumbling about what story he should tell. Rubbing his head with his big metal hand. |
| ChaosEvoker11-16-04, 07:58 AM | In walks an elf. His skin is an odd pale grey. His pitch black hair is fairly long and he wears a blue-violet robe. He carries a twisted black staff topped with a large green gem. On his robe are two golden medals. The first has the phrase "Overlord and Founder of the DMF" the second says "Overlord and founder of the PCF." He has bright green eyes and an aura of evil and power to match many a fiend. He is extremely handsome and quite charasmatic. He surveys the scene. Though he is startled by the presence of so many fiends and odd creatures, nothing shows on his face. He walks confidently into the room. He makes sure to cast True Seeing before joining the crowd. After a few trifling conversations he walks up to Dyne. "Hail to you Dyne, Archmage of War. I believe we have met before in other places." He suddenly notices Orcy who is standing there. He thought Orcy was talkign to himself, but realizes he is talking to Dyne. "My appologies. Orcy, I believe? We have also met before. So gentlemen, how goes the ball?" With this last statement he embraces the Shadow Weave and brings forth a small ball of black fire to play with. Nevertheless the sudden presence of the Shadow Weave is a bit startling to Weave users at the ball. As he tosses the black fire between his hands, he waits for a responce. |
| thasis11-16-04, 09:57 AM | "You are a intressting man Chaos Evoker. You seem to enjoy attention". With that he walks up to the Guild of Ultimate Evil members and says "Chaos Evoker are newest member to the Guild of Ultimate Evil so be nice" with a big grin. |
| ChaosEvoker11-16-04, 11:07 AM | Chaos Evoker nods, acknowleging that looks that come to him as a result of the announcement. He extiguishes the black fire in his hands and makes his way to thasis. "I am proud to be a member. So, is this little event an extension of the guild or a place for anyone to meet and socialize?" He surveys the crowd again. As he does he analyzes constantly, finding who he can use to further his purpose and Shar's purpose. He absentmindedly fingers an adamantine box at his hip as he gauges what his next actions should be. |
| Droga11-16-04, 11:44 AM | Droga looks down at the people around him, growling at them ass he passes through the crowd. He approaches Thasis and the newcomer. Looking him over a bit he shrugs. "Let him do what he can. We shall see if he deserves his position when battle comes. Though I doubt something so tiny will put up a good fight in full out combat. Perhaps it has useful spells." Droga leans over till his face is level with Chaos Evokers. "Yes, I see the shadows within this one, he may be useful yet." |
| Demonfey11-16-04, 03:29 PM | {Crowley walks over to Chaos Evoker.} Welcome aboard, Chaos Evoker. Don't mind Droga. He just believes that all beings from this plane are inferior. So, you use the shadow weave? |
| thasis11-16-04, 05:57 PM | Thasis smiles at Droga. "I see much potentional in this mortal. But like you I think he needs to prove his powers. Of course there will be a time in place. Let us just wait. I think he will prove himeself well" |
| ChaosEvoker11-16-04, 06:59 PM | "I think you will find my reputation is other places is quite...impressive." He takes a hard glance at Droga "Even by your standards. Though I have lost some of my power coming to this world, I will regain it. In battle, I am no newcomer. Droga, I would be careful not to judge too much by size. You may find one day that the human or elf next to you can fell you faster than Mephistopheles himself could." He turns to address Demonfey "As for you question, I do indeed use the Shadow Weave. i find its dark power invigorating, especially for my favorite school of magic. If I ever tell you about my past experience in other worlds, perhaps you will know which school that is..." He trails off and surveys the scene again. "Who is the host of this gathering, and where is he?" |
| Demonfey11-16-04, 08:11 PM | Delwyn is the host. I am unsure where he is at the moment, because he has decided to mingle with the guests. |
| Von Crown11-16-04, 09:03 PM | "Hmmm... the Shadow Weave. I have heard much about it, although I draw my personal power straight from the Far Realms. I find it makes my magics somewhat more... unpredictable. At that, he gets up and walks over to Droga. "I find it interesting that you assume that he is mortal, and indeed, not more than he appears. You would do well to learn not to judge things by their appearances. Take me for example. I don't look to impressive, but I can level mountains with a single spell, and I've seen the deaths of gods. Killed a few myself. But that's not the point. The point is that appearances are not indicators of power, and physical and magical might are usless without the knowledge of when or how to use them. Strategy is important, I should know." |
| Dyne11-16-04, 09:07 PM | Delwyn is the host. I am unsure where he is at the moment, because he has decided to mingle with the guests. "Actually, Lady Nairobi is the host. Delwyn is just the one who dragged us all into this ball, even though we're uninvited." A ghost glides over to the group. "And this isn't an extension of the Guild of Evil. It's just a coincidence that most of the guests happen to be from that guild." |
| Demonfey11-17-04, 07:33 PM | Hey, Dyne. How's being undead working out for you at the moment? |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-17-04, 09:44 PM | As "Ava" was following Del he whispered again "Ahh just beacuse my powers have changed a little doesn't mean I'm no longer a ranger at heart. Ah Power. Who really has more power between the two of us? I would suppose I do but then again - I have to deal with two other equal powers while you posses lesser power you control all that works around you. We could debate it for years... " -Frosty |
| ChaosEvoker11-17-04, 09:52 PM | "I find it interesting that you assume that he is mortal, and indeed, not more than he appears" at this comment Chaos Evoker makes a slight chuckle as he fingers the box at his hip again. "I shall have to find this Delwyn." "Hey, Dyne. How's being undead working out for you at the moment?" At this comment he quickly turns a curious head toward Dyne."Undead? I hadn't noticed." |
| Xen15511-18-04, 12:56 AM | A shimmering blue door appears behind Evoker and a slender elf strolls out of it. He bows to everyone in attendence who dosn't look like it will rip his head off for the action and clasps Evoker's shoulder. You can generally tell from that stench that often unfourtanently comes with undeath. He walks off mumbling to himself about the prospects of a mask scent spell..... |
| Dyne11-18-04, 03:34 AM | You can generally tell from that stench that often unfourtanently comes with undeath. "Undead? I hadn't noticed." The ghost glides away from the group, leaving the place by flying through a wall. A moment later, an Elf in find Emerald Green robes enters. He strides over to the group. "I was killed in the fight against Droga. But, thanks to Demonfey, I have a clone to inhabit." Hey, Dyne. How's being undead working out for you at the moment? "Being a ghost wasn't so bad. I couldn't physically touch things, but I could manipulate objects with telekinesis. And I didn't have to open doors anymore, I could just glide right through them, or, better yet, just go straight through a wall. But, it's good to have a body back. I still need to go find all my equipment, though." |
| ChaosEvoker11-18-04, 07:10 AM | "You can generally tell from that stench that often unfourtanently comes with undeath." At this comment Chaos Evoker smiles slightly, gives Xen a challenging "Oh Really?" look, and begins playing with black fire again, but he makes no comment but looks around amusedly. |
| Droga11-18-04, 09:38 AM | Droga laughs as Dyne enters the room, looking him over. "Come back to die again have you? Cheating death, HAH! A cowards choice. Though I should expect no less from one so dishonorable as you little swine." Droga laughs again. His glowing red eyes falling upon Dyne once more. |
| Xen15511-18-04, 11:15 AM | Droga, is that which Dyne has done cheating or good preperation? |
| ChaosEvoker11-18-04, 11:25 AM | Chaos Evoker gives Droga an incredulous look and a deadly glare. "Cheating? Only a foolish extraplanar like you would see it that way. It is not cheating, it is a clever way of getting a second chance." He firmly grabs the box at his hip smiling with a truely evil and almost smug look. "Though I still find his methods...incomplete. Why obtain only a second chance when one can be..." He looks almost admiringly at the mysterious black box"...immortal." |
| Xen15511-18-04, 12:47 PM | Imortality........ that suggests that you will LIVE forever. You seem to be found of that box.... |
| Droga11-18-04, 01:02 PM | "It is cowardly and dishonorable. Death is the end, to die in battle is to live forever. Though in truth the heart still wishes for combat, and the chance would be taken, death in battle is a beautiful thing. To be torn apart in combat, having fought valiantly and well is the highest honor a Skygge could ever wish for. Those of us who are needed come back, those of us who are satisfied die with honor. For we ARE immortal. We cannot truely die as you little creatures do. In the death of our bodies, our 'spirit' everything we are returns to the begining. We Droga live forever, returning after death to strike down our enemies once more. For we are needed. This foolish mortal swine. The one you call Dyne, he is not needed, he is simply here. If he were still dead nothing would change. Mortals die in combat, then are given chances once more by their magics. This dishonors them and their families. All those that share their blood. For a mortal creature serves its purpose until death, and then it has no more purpose. Brought back it is nothing but an attempt to cheat death." Droga's eyes flash a brighter red as he looks across those who has spoken. His eyes resting on Dyne for a moment, then shifting to Chaos Evoker and Xen. |
| Xen15511-18-04, 01:17 PM | Hahahahahaha.... your awfully long winded Droga, an excellent speech. But, your intemidation will not work on me or Evoker. |
| Demonfey11-18-04, 03:17 PM | A moment later, an Elf in find Emerald Green robes enters. He strides over to the group. "I was killed in the fight against Droga. But, thanks to Demonfey, I have a clone to inhabit." And after doing that, Silmarien threw me out of the Foundation. |
| Demonfey11-18-04, 03:25 PM | "It is cowardly and dishonorable. Death is the end, to die in battle is to live forever. Droga's eyes flash a brighter red as he looks across those who has spoken. His eyes resting on Dyne for a moment, then shifting to Chaos Evoker and Xen. First off, "We Droga"? I thought you were the skygge. Second off, to have another chance at life is not dishonorable, but to have forsaken your eternal reward. To tear yourself away from that means that you have given up more than either one of us could truly understand, for if we are lucky, we shall see all things between now to the very end of days. |
| Droga11-18-04, 03:45 PM | "I am Skygge, yet I am Droga as well. We Droga are the leaders of our clans. It is a high honor to be given the name and title of Droga." |
| Demonfey11-18-04, 03:49 PM | Yes, but does that mean that skygge on the whole are not immortal? Or that you mispoke? That is what I wanted to know. |
| Droga11-18-04, 03:54 PM | "We Droga do not die. Our lessers, die in battle and are gone. They return to the begining. Perhaps their energies are combined with anothers to form a new skygge. But they are not like us. For we are special, chosen by the Lightbane himself. We are lords amoung our people." |
| Demonfey11-18-04, 04:00 PM | Ah. That I can understand. Thank you for clearing that all up, Droga. In any case, our use of magic to come back is a more straight forward way of returning to the beginning. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-18-04, 05:19 PM | As Frosty overheard the conversation he thought to himself "It will never go away, leaders will always see themselves are greater than their followers, at least most do...What true courage is there anyways if you know you can return to life? What valor is in that? Foolish creatures mortal or not - I would rather see a large tribe of unified and honerable barbarians than a horde of Mages waring both political and magical wars." Although "LoreWarden" of the Council of "Archmages" I value chivalry/Honor/virtue/Ect over magical skills in any game :P -Frosty |
| Xen15511-18-04, 07:39 PM | Is a leader then no better than his followers? How does a leader rise above the rest if he is on the same par as the ones he leads? By the way... do we have any bards here? |
| Demonfey11-18-04, 07:41 PM | As Frosty overheard the conversation he thought to himself "It will never go away, leaders will always see themselves are greater than their followers, at least most do...What true courage is there anyways if you know you can return to life? What valor is in that? Foolish creatures mortal or not - I would rather see a large tribe of unified and honerable barbarians than a horde of Mages waring both political and magical wars." So I brought him back with a clone. It seemed like it would help me with arranging a temporary truce. |
| Xen15511-18-04, 09:45 PM | Thats awfully calculating. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-18-04, 09:57 PM | Is a leader then no better than his followers? How does a leader rise above the rest if he is on the same par as the ones he leads? By the way... do we have any bards here? Well the character I'm RPING right now is the High King/God/Judge who is in disguise as a friend of his. The conversation with bait might have gotten a few of you confused I'm sorry beacuse I was four people. One from another game, Frosty, The High King and Ava and only really the two of us can discern when we where who. Anyways Baerdith, Bait and I (And does kedi have a few ranks?) are the Arch-Bards of the Council of the Archmages. While Bard has fallen second to ranger in my book of favorites - Never forget - THEY ARE BOTH INFERIOR TO ME Its a little well-known inside joke between the three(or four) of us - Feel free to join the frey but beware...the scorpio bait will attempt to hound and discredit you at any chance he gets  -Frosty |
| Demonfey11-18-04, 10:05 PM | Thats awfully calculating. That's the way my character thinks. Also, that was out of game. In game looks like this. One of my favorite quotes from my favorite author is "Sometimes, you need a cold, calculating bastard to save the day." |
| Xen15511-18-04, 10:07 PM | *cough ego cough* Perhaps then Frostbite you could sing us a uplifting song about the Foundation war? |
| Xen15511-18-04, 10:08 PM | That's the way my character thinks. Also, that was out of game. In game looks like this. One of my favorite quotes from my favorite author is "Sometimes, you need a cold, calculating bastard to save the day." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA      |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-18-04, 10:18 PM | *cough ego cough* Perhaps then Frostbite you could sing us a uplifting song about the Foundation war? Well Frostbite is my formers characters name. He is the name I orginally entered the council with and if you seen my in-game "stats" or rather history in the players and stats thread then you will understand it better. The name Frostbite should prehaps only be known only to Delwyn, The judges, other gods and prehaps lady sil might one day remeber me. But don't forget I'm the oldest active CoA so thus in story only those people that would have known me back in the begining, or have traveled to other worlds with me (Aka delwyn/bait) would know me as Frostbite and know my past. Now as High King you know me more as the God that came down to earth, who bears no name other than "High King" or "Lord" or "God of Justice" ect. In the form I greet you with my presence at this ball with today is the form of Avaliar...a archmage from my time who few would know. Those that knew of him are most likly dead and those that recognize him probably know its not him, as Avaliar disappeared by this time probably. Avaliar we all knew and loved him, although still around today inactive within the council itself so thus the story must adapt, was a Gold Elven Archmage. The older he got the more templates, cockyness, spells, elven high magic, aragance (JK) and deity wives. Now as that would probably unfitting to both setting in story but that was how he was roleplaying I'm going to say he was also one of the "worldwalkers" along with me and bait and on this world was just an extremely powerfull archmage from long ago. Not a trace of bardness in him. Sorry for the long prehaps confusing explination, bad spelling and long sentances. -Frosty |
| Bait the Bard11-19-04, 12:55 AM | As "Ava" was following Del he whispered again "Ahh just beacuse my powers have changed a little doesn't mean I'm no longer a ranger at heart. Ah Power. Who really has more power between the two of us? I would suppose I do but then again - I have to deal with two other equal powers while you posses lesser power you control all that works around you. We could debate it for years... " "As I recall we have had this depate many times, in various places. Still, as you know, I prefer to work in the shadows, out of sight, so as not to become a target. While the people may see you as being more powerful than me, they will also be more likely to come after you, and then you have no power. A slight gain in one instance cancelled out by another later on, compared to constant control. Your only weakness is that you have no patience, and a certain belief that you are somehow better than me." This last sentance was said witha fond smile on Delwyn's face, for indeed they had debated the subject many times, and to no certain conclusion; but it was a depate that would no dought continue for many years. These thought and fond memories of old times drifted through Delwyn's head as he made his way to the other side of the ballroom, occasionally stopping to speak to one person or another, and all the while keeping an eye on everything going on, a skill learnt from a lifetime of practice. Eventually Delwyn spied Dyne who seemed to be engrossed in a debate with a few other peple, msotly those he had dragged him away from before. He seemed drawn to disreputable company, no matter what Delwyn could do. Still, that might be an interesting thing to find out later, and work with; someone wo could instincivly find the dodgy people in the room. Possibly useful to have around. Both Delwyn and 'Avarilar' had approached near enough to the group to hear the last lengthy statment concerning morals and death, and Delwyn found it quite intruiging. There was certainly no room in Dleywn's mind for a concience, but he enjoyed depating philosophy, and used it to help predict the actions of others, and many more useful things. Death in itself could come in many forms, and while Delwyn enjoyed a good fight, he was not so stupid as to pit himself in a chance that could kill him for no extensive gain. The greatest risks brought the greatest rewards, but only the cleverest knew when to take those risks, for death brought and end to all power, position, and wealth. He could also see the many advantages of aving magic that would extend or prolong life, and those that brought back the dead, but these came with many prices, the highest of them not obvious, either. In his travelling of the Planes, Delwyn had met being obsessed by death, and never wanted to become one; in his travels his own life had being extended, though the intrisic magic of planeswalking, and though deals with dieties and powerful mages, but only those who's drawback were very minimal, or granted in favour. - - - - - - - - - - - Please note: Me = :king: Frosty = :chicken: :P Yes, there is an extensive and long story between me, Frostbite and Aravilar, and another one between me, Frosty, kedi and Beardith. Lots of fun, I tell you. Its a little well-known inside joke between the three(or four) of us - Feel free to join the frey but beware...the scorpio bait will attempt to hound and discredit you at any chance he gets  Also true :schemes: If you really want to find out more, you can PM me or add me to MSN/AM if you want. ;) You have been warned.. |
| ChaosEvoker11-19-04, 07:36 AM | Chaos Evoker chuckles sinisterly. "Easy to be brave about death if you are immortal, Droga. If you are immortal than you have no right to criticize those who have found a way to obtain it. You, Droga, are not Lord Ao, and are not the one who determines who is meant or worthy to live or die." Turns to Xen "Yes I am quite fond of this box, one might say my whole life centers around it." He notices someone looking in his direction. (Delwyn) Having always had a weakness for curiosity, he quickly moved to the man. "Hello, my name is Racanath Xiltyn, who are you?" OOC: My character's name isn't Chaos Evoker it is Racanath Xiltyn but I just haven't told anyone yet. |
| Droga11-19-04, 10:58 AM | Droga growled, he glared at Chaos Evoker as he walked away from him. "Do not insult me little creature. You know nothing of our kind, and so there is nothing you can say of us. You insult me, and you would do well not to. I have no problem with tearing your feeble body apart, and destroying all you hold dear. I die, yes, but I live on as well. Something you mortals would never understand. When you creatures die, you become nothing more than spirits. Bodyless forms that are used by demons and devils for currency and eaten when they grow hungry. Though some of you choose to live longer, giving yourselves false life. You do not live, yet you are not dead. A dishonorable act, but there is not far to fall from the honorless mortal scum we have seen. We care not for what you creatures do. We do, or did not, concern ourselves with mortals. Until you creatures brought into us the hate we have for you now." |
| ChaosEvoker11-19-04, 11:35 AM | Chaos Evoker turns sharply on Droga. "You can destroy my feeble body, but thanks to my spirit I can never be destroyed. With my magic I have enhanced what I have become, and am nearly invincible. If you judge by size you are a FOOL!"With this, he transforms into his natrual form, his skin seems to decay and evaporate, his clothes disolve into the air, soon all that is left of him is his skeleton. Then, all except the skull turns to dust. Six blood red gems appear on the skull. Two in the eye sockts, the rest inlaid into the skull in a circle around it. His voice, which before carried a myseterious silkiness, now is a rasp that booms with a deep bass under it. almost as if he is whispering and speakign with a deep voice at the same time. "Now, I dare you, try and destroy me. Prove your point" |
| Droga11-19-04, 11:40 AM | OOC: you do realize that we're limited to ECL 15 characters dont you? |
| Xen15511-19-04, 11:42 AM | OOC: you do realize that we're limited to ECL 15 characters dont you? I dont think that is his IFGW char. |
| ChaosEvoker11-19-04, 11:42 AM | OOC: For what? This isn't my IFWG character. Are we limited in the GoUE? |
| Droga11-19-04, 11:47 AM | OOC: The Guild of Ultimate Evil doesnt have a limit, but this is an in character thread for the IFGW. I'm playing my guild war character here, not some random high powered guy... |
| ChaosEvoker11-19-04, 11:50 AM | OOC:Oh...hmm I haven't made my IFWG character yet and didn't know that. Um..... In a cartoonish pop, Racanath disappears until Chaos Evoker makes his IFWG character. |
| Xen15511-19-04, 11:50 AM | OOC: The Guild of Ultimate Evil doesnt have a limit, but this is an in character thread for the IFGW. I'm playing my guild war character here, not some random high powered guy... Well your character certinly is random Droga, the other part...well..... @ Evoker           |
| Droga11-19-04, 11:53 AM | OOC: Hes not random, hes big, evil and sooooo cuuuuuuute :P |
| Demonfey11-19-04, 03:01 PM | Droga, I thought that you had realized that he was a lich. If I had realized you hadn't, although his hints about the box did give it away, I would have warned you. |
| Von Crown11-19-04, 04:09 PM | "Hm. I thought it was so obvious that everyone already figured it out. Of course, I can generally tell undead by how they act, even in disguise. Besides,he reeked of undeath..." Mordred reaches inside his jacket and pulls out a small pouch, which he begins to toss up i the air nonchalantly. "Of course, maybe it takes one to know one..." |
| Droga11-19-04, 05:20 PM | "I knew well what he was. He simply annoyed me, so I wished to test him. He has a short temper. Typical of a mortal that has gained many more years than they should have. Amusing to say the least." Droga turns from them, stalking through the crowd with Vadok at his side. He moves up a wall and sits on it, watching the others in the room. Vadok following him and doing the same. |
| Xen15511-19-04, 06:37 PM | Xen walks up to Droga Hey big guy, whats wrong hmmm? You want a soooda eh? soooda? |
| Demonfey11-19-04, 08:51 PM | "I knew well what he was. He simply annoyed me, so I wished to test him. He has a short temper. He moves up a wall and sits on it, watching the others in the room. Vadok following him and doing the same. You mean like I have? Except, of course, my patience has lasted so far. Maybe it's something you learn only when it has been a part of you your entire life. |

Cause ... cause of all the magic tricks? -Frosty (Sorry couldn't help it - Just found a new family-guy quotes website.) Frostbite, it looks like you had a double post that was split by one of Xen's posts. Very odd. A man in plate armor with a white surcoat and a purple cloak enters the chamber. On his back, you see a heavy steel shield and a bastard sword, and his helmet has a purple plume. "Hello, fellow citizens of Faerun. I am Helm Dundragon, Knight of the Purple Dragons of Cormyr." His expression becomes bothered when he sees Droga and the other members of the Guild of Ultimate Evil. "I didn't realize such abominations would be invited to this party. But, if the host can tolerate them as guests, I shall do the same for the sake of peace. But, know this. NO ONE will be harmed here. Do you understand, minions of evil?" |
| Droga11-20-04, 06:32 PM | "Keep your own word little man, we have been here for some time and there has been no... harm done. But keep insults flowing from your mouth and one may be leaving without a head. We do not take orders from foolish mortals who think themselves strong." Droga growls as he crawls across the wall. Looking down on everyone from his high location. He grins at the knight as he passes him, just another creature that wished him dead, like all the other foolish mortals who had come before. |
| Demonfey11-20-04, 06:32 PM | NO ONE will be harmed here. You know, that is exactly what the paladins said to me just before they pulled out their swords and began running after me when I was a child every single time. |
| Xen15511-20-04, 11:13 PM | You know thats really sad :( :weep: :( :weep: :( :weep: Hey! has anybody heard of The Amber Chronicals? |
| Demonfey11-20-04, 11:20 PM | You know thats really sad I meant for that to be one of those moments where the original speaker falters and has their train of thought derailed horribly. It makes them have to rally, and what they say is more interesting and revealing than they mean to be. |
| Xen15511-20-04, 11:28 PM | You just might be to calculating. You sure your not a mentat? |
| Demonfey11-20-04, 11:32 PM | I'm insane and calculating, Xen. Does that answer your questions? |
| Xen15511-20-04, 11:35 PM | Yes, yes it does. |
| ChaosEvoker11-21-04, 01:00 AM | I think the problem with my character is that he was a DEMI-lich. Those are quite pwoerful. I wasn't aware that this was for the IFWG so I'm making my character |
| Demonfey11-21-04, 01:22 AM | Only during a fight, ChaosEvoker. |
| ChaosEvoker11-21-04, 09:57 PM | I'm afraid demiliches are powerful, fighting or not. VERY powerful. |
| Demonfey11-21-04, 09:58 PM | Epic's epic. Besides, you still have your weaknesses. I'm epic, too. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-21-04, 10:24 PM | Since when did everyone become epic? And who allowed a demi-lich? I know Sil certinly didn't...don't they have like a ECL of 15? Their about the closest thing to god-like I can think of and those with extra powers...  . -Frosty |
| Bait the Bard11-22-04, 01:35 AM | Alright. To clear up, from now on in this thread only your characters from the PLayer Character Statistics thread will be allowed. ChaosEvoker can be a non-epic lich, and Demonfey can scale his guy down. Not that it really matters here, but people do seem to be taking over the thread with it. Keep on with the roleplaying :) - the alightly annoyed bard ;) |
| ChaosEvoker11-22-04, 10:48 AM | Right, sorry it was my fault for not being clear, I'm getting that fixed. |
| Xen15511-22-04, 01:26 PM | You know, for a ball, there isn't that much dancing going on. |
| Droga11-22-04, 03:06 PM | "That is because many would rather challenge me to death battles than take part in a ball. Simply because of what I am, they believe me a horrid being. I was not born, but made, made by the hate and darkness in the mortal heart. The fear of that which is unknown and the need to destroy that which is different. I am the son of all that is dark in the world. All that his hidden away in the shadows. I was made by your "righteous" actions holy knight. Now, as you continue to throw yourselves at me. You only make me stronger." |
| Demonfey11-22-04, 03:22 PM | I just thought that too few people knew how to dance. ;) |
| ChaosEvoker11-22-04, 11:09 PM | Racanath appears again, but is not a demilich, only a lich. Though he does appear to be a fully living elf, unless one has true seeing or some such spell active. "Perhaps there is no dancing becuase there are no ladies. At least no PC ladies. I would gladly dance with any who were willing. Though not many people like to dance with liches...." He turns to Droga. "I do not wish to battle you to the death, or fight you at all. Nor do I prejudge you. So far you have proven to be fairly admirable, if not a little prejudiced and stubborn. Do not let whatever you were birthed by cloud your judgement. We do not hate you. we are workign together for our foundation." |
| Dyne11-22-04, 11:27 PM | "That is because many would rather challenge me to death battles than take part in a ball. You only make me stronger." "I find irony that you can only blame your destructive nature on the actions of others. For, no matter what effect others have on us, we can still make our own choices, and be whoever we want to be. You, creature, cannot blame your horrid and vile nature on the fallacies of others. You are dark because it is darkness you seek. And my "righteous" actions are what protect the common people from creatures like you. For I am Helm, Paladin of Helm, The Vigilant One, God of Protection. For 'lo since I have been brought into this life, my destiny has been thus. You will not stand against the Guardians, for those who violate them are subject to their wrath. For it is not by the fault of my mind, neither my arm, neither my sword that you will die, but it is by fault of your own destructive tendencies. For none can withstand the Guardians when they come between the Guardians and the Guarded. And I guard all the innocent. You have already violated our sacred Law, Droga, and for this you must die. You have slain innocent blood, and for thus you will be punished. As the Forces of Good gather, the minions of evil grow weaker. We will destroy you, and nothing grows stronger that is destroyed." |
| Droga11-23-04, 12:00 AM | "Grow weaker? I grow only stronger as the days go by little man. This crime you accuse me of I have been proven innocent of, or do you go against the kings own laws and rulings? I do not solely blame others for what I am. I love what I am, I am power. My people have our views because of you creatures. We were willing to be allies of mankind, but they turned us away. So now they are enemies. That which they hate and shun, we embrace and give assistance to. You claim to guard the "innocent" but none are truely innocent. You kill because you assume you know what lies within me. Yet you do not know for sure. You creatures are the evil ones. You strike out and kill what you wish, claiming it is because they are evil and must die before they harm others. You are the vile beasts. You little swine, are the true demons." Droga hung down from the celing, looking Helm in the face, his breath a thing of death and decay. |
| Xen15511-23-04, 01:10 AM | Xen hurridly shoves his hands in one of many pockets linning his cloak in preperation for trouble. A quarrel hear would be illadvisded for both of you. Perhaps we could discuss this out of weapon range? You Droga do have a nasty habbit of blaming you Evil on others. Are you saying that befor the horrible atrocity your race suffered you were a goodly um...er...people? |
| Droga11-23-04, 01:25 AM | "No, we enjoyed battle just as much as we do now. We killed those who got in our way. But our obvious hatred for mortal beings was not as it is today. We have always known we were superior, for we are born from all that is dark. But we had never been as we are until they brought about the change. Their betrayl will be the doom of this pitiful world." |
| ChaosEvoker11-23-04, 07:15 AM | "I would be careful assuming your race is more powerful, Droga. That is a mistake you don't wish to make. Go tell Elminster, Blackstaff, or Drizzt Do'Urden that and I'm sure they can provide condradictory information." Turns to the Paladin. "Just like a paladin to see everything as black and white. Good and Evil. Innocent and Guilty. There are grey areas you fool, don't presume to be the judge of everything. Of course, considering what deity your serve, it is unsurprsing that you are willing to make foolish assertions as if you are the authority on everything." |
| Dyne11-23-04, 08:29 AM | "I would be careful assuming your race is more powerful, Droga. That is a mistake you don't wish to make. I am Helm Dundragon, Paladin of Helm, the God of Protection, and Knight of the Purple Dragons of Cormyr. The protection of my people and those who are innocent is my honor and my duty. For I have to charge of protecting both our borders and our mainland, from invaders and from traitors and from violators of our laws. As a Knight of the Purple Dragons, it is my job. And there is no shade of grey, as many believe. There is only Good and Evil, compassion and hatred, creation and destruction, prosperity and suffereing. Most people simply don't possess all Good or all Evil traits, or are a mix of traits. People are judged by their actions, and I will not allow their actions to harm others without enough cause. For that is a violation of our law, and I am a guardian of the law. Break it and you will be punished, no matter what excuse you have at the tip of your silvery tongue." |
| ChaosEvoker11-23-04, 06:15 PM | Chuckles lightly at the Paladin's ranting. "Oh please, so how do you define those who are neutral? Your prized deity for example, is neither good nor evil. And innocent? How do you define innocent. I will tell you know, paladin. There is no innocence, only the illusion thereof..." |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 07:39 PM | "I am no fool. I am Helm Dundragon, Paladin of Helm, the God of Protection, and Knight of the Purple Dragons of Cormyr. This is why I made sure to be epic. That way, I can, more or less, resolve these things without worrying about having to use lethal force when they are in improper places. It allows me the greatest number of choices in dealing with people without killing them. You are a fool when trying to pick a fight at a ball, and antagonizing a being that is already showing a great force of will in not attempting to slaughter any of the guests. |
| Dyne11-23-04, 07:45 PM | Chuckles lightly at the Paladin's ranting. "Oh please, so how do you define those who are neutral? Your prized deity for example, is neither good nor evil. And innocent? How do you define innocent. I will tell you know, paladin. There is no innocence, only the illusion thereof..." This subject is getting redundant. Helm is a Justicar, meaning he takes justice into his own hands. He hates evil because it destroys progress and harms people. He sees the world in total black and white. He was named after his deity, since his parents planned and hoped for him to be a devout follower of Helm. Their son proved them right, and he has been training as a Paladin since before he could walk. Now, enough with my character, I want to get on to a different subject. (sorry, this is slightly boring me to explain Helm's philosophy so much) |
| Dyne11-23-04, 07:54 PM | You are a fool when trying to pick a fight at a ball, and antagonizing a being that is already showing a great force of will in not attempting to slaughter any of the guests. "I don't pick fights. If I want to fight, I fight. Now, show me one moment in which I have antagonized anyone here. For, I have done no such thing. I have been the one antagonized, ever since I stepped foot into this palace. The only reason I endure your **** is to make certain order is kept here. For, if but one of you steps out of line, I shall be there with my trusty blade to your throat in an instant." With that, Helm leaves the group. He strides over to a corner, watching the members of the Guild of Evil with a cautious eye. |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 08:07 PM | What would you call poking at a topic that makes a highly violent being feel even more violent, then? Like Droga's reasons for hating all mortal races? Now, for some smilies dancing. :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: |
| ChaosEvoker11-23-04, 10:42 PM | Glares narrowly at Helm as he walks off. "I always hated paladins......" |
| Xen15511-23-04, 10:47 PM | It does appear that this ball is seperating into two distinct groups. |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 10:49 PM | {Crowley, looking at the separation of the group, sighs and flits up and takes his seat on the balcony.} |
| Dyne11-23-04, 10:58 PM | Helm and Dyne gather and begin talking to one another, exchanging war stories and such. They have known each other for quite a while, and are friends. |
| Xen15511-24-04, 02:14 AM | Xen, standing in the center of the ball all alone, begins doing an Irish jig that, thanks to his semi-good dex, is done with a deft foot and a certine flourish that could only be outdone by the Lord of the Dance (or the next person to claim he does it better. |
| Bait the Bard11-24-04, 05:34 AM | Certainly, there were sides obviously appearing here, mused Delwyn, as he stood to one side of the room and watched the happenings. Many of the Guildspeople were incredibly inept, and lacking manners; proposeing a deul in a ballroom? No wonder they only had chance to gain power through military might, they were very unsuited to political games. Still, they were amusing the other political players in the room, even though they did not notice it. "See that fool dancing in the center there? Yes, that's the one. Apart form being a horrible dnacer, he has no clue how to behave here.. yes, I entirely agree." This last remark was made to Faibian, a trader from out of town, wuite a major one, and also quite firmly in Delwyn's pocket, and he supplied all kinds of useful things; items and information, of most note. Then making various exuses about things to do, and people to talk to, Delwyn surveyed the ballromm with his keen green eyes, and spied a lonely figure, sitting on a balcony overlooking the now dark landscape, and appearing lost in thought. possibly of some intrest to talk to, and maybe even intellectually stimulationg, mayhap a long gone poet, philosopher, or the like.. "Good evening, sir, a fine veiw, I must say, if you would come here during the day. I am Delwyn, one of Lady Nairobi's aids. Who might I have the pleasure of conversing with?" And for you who didn't pick it up, yes, that's Crowley ;) |
| ChaosEvoker11-24-04, 09:58 AM | Shakes his head sadly at Xen, wishing he could cast Hold Person or some such spell, but his manners were above that, he would not pick a fight at a place like this. HE began looking around seeing what alliances he could form and notices a man approach Demonfey. He approaches the two of them and addresses the man. "Hail to the two of you. Sir, I don't believe we have met. Might I inquire as to who you are?" |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 12:49 PM | Greetings, Delwyn. Racanath, this is Delwyn. Delwyn, Racanath the lich. What did you come to talk to me about? |
| ChaosEvoker11-24-04, 02:28 PM | *sighs* "You know most people are too wary if a lich is around I don't have this amulet of nondetection and perpetual disguise self spell on me for no reason. People like my grey elf form alot better." "Yes, I am a lich, however. I hope that doesn't bother you too much Delwyn." |
| Dyne11-24-04, 09:01 PM | Xen, standing in the center of the ball all alone, begins doing an Irish jig that, thanks to his semi-good dex, is done with a deft foot and a certine flourish that could only be outdone by the Lord of the Dance (or the next person to claim he does it better. I can't dance, but this smilie can :dancin: |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:04 PM | Must...resist...urge to...use smilies...NOOO!!!!! I CAN'T RESIST!!! :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: |
| Dyne11-24-04, 11:06 PM | Must...resist...urge to...use smilies...NOOO!!!!! I CAN'T RESIST!!! :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: Argh! Too... many... dancing... smilies... can't... resist... cuteness... NOOOOO!!!!! |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:10 PM | :turkey: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! :turkey: (Yeah, I know I'm an hour early, but why not?) :D |
| ChaosEvoker11-25-04, 10:03 AM | Happy Thanksgiving! :turkey: THE SMILES....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: :dancin: And now for a taste of France: :surrender :rimshot: Ok I am so done.......(I think we are a bit off topic here) |
| Demonfey11-25-04, 10:16 AM | Sometimes, you have to get off topic for the sake of humor. |
| ChaosEvoker11-25-04, 10:49 AM | Amen, I woudl post some roleplaying except I'm still wait for DELWYN'S RESPONCE!!!!!! |
| Bait the Bard11-26-04, 12:03 AM | Amen, I woudl post some roleplaying except I'm still wait for DELWYN'S RESPONCE!!!!!! Chill. I get on here.. like once a day. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Greetings, Racanath. I have met my share of liches in my time, and the only conclusion I have come to is that you are really to desperate to live. Life is good, but useing such means to extend your life is not worth the tradeoffs. Nevertheless, it is good to make your aquaintance. However, gentlemen, I am here for a more official purpose. Lady Nairobi wishes to have strong allies, allies who have great power in this realm, and she has dispatched me to find such allies. I have watched you two for some time, and I would say that you are both what she needs; one to watch the shadows, and another with great magical power. How would you say to meeting the Lady Nairobi at some later time?" |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 12:04 AM | I have no problem with that. At this point, all I have is time. |
| ChaosEvoker11-26-04, 12:12 AM | "As is the case with myself. I would be glad to meet this Lady Nairobi.Though I must say Master Delwyn, that you mistake my reasons for being a lich. Power, not life, is what I sought. Though, I must admit, being the first lich in the realms who achieved lichdom with Shadow Magic is somethign that will at least put me in the history books...." As for my comment, Bait, I was just playing around...sorry. |
| Bait the Bard11-26-04, 12:58 AM | I'm not offended at all. :D - - - - - - - - - - - - "Good, good. Both of you agree. I think you will both profit greatly from this decision." Raising his diamond encrusted gold goblet, of which lady Nairobi possed several hundred, Delwyn brought it to his lips, toasting them, and sealing the deal, in the time hounoured fashion. Then relaxing a bit, Delwyn sorted out, at amazing speed, what he had to do for the rest of the evening, and afterwards, that related to the evening; the meeting with lady Nairobi, talking to Dyne about being less.. direct, and a few other things he had arranged or thought of.. certainly this evening had been useful, in more ways than most people would imagine. "However, to gain power, you must extend your life, and then, once you have mroe power, you will want to use it, meaning an even more unaturally stretchedlifespan. A vicious cycle, as I see it, but one of personal choice. I have met others that have extended lives, yet are in their full prime, and not subject to bias and suspicion, as liches, such as yourself are. You should ahve found out what you could before venturing dwon the path of a lich.." |
| Xen15511-26-04, 03:24 AM | Ahhhh, These tangled webs we weave as we prctice on this eve. |
| ChaosEvoker11-26-04, 09:41 AM | "What you say is true enough, though becoming a lich offers quite a bit of protection from many dangerous sources. However, should I ever find an alternative, there are ways to put myself back in my elvish form." At the toast he raises his glass, but does not drink, knowing that doing so will only create a nasty mess, he instead uses a small cantrip to evaporate the liquid in the glass. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-26-04, 03:04 PM | Orcy laughs. Looking over at the lich he shakes his head and grinning. "Well bag-o-bones, Orcy knows a few ways to stay around longer. Orcy himself is a good 200 years old. Ever heard THAT from a half-orc before?" Orcy laughs again, smacking his knee as he did. "Orcy is sure you can see that he aint no bag-o-bones, and he certainly is quite alive. Aint no reason for none of that undead stuff. Orcy don't like it and never has. Smashed himself quite a few of you bone bags in his time. Still can too! But what you kind don't understand, is that this undead stuff aint needed. The only problem is Orcy doesn't know if anybody would do whats needed ta make you like him. Thats the real trick right there." Orcy nods to himself. Looking back up at Racanath he grins. "But doin somethin like that for power. Well thats just disgustin." |
| ChaosEvoker11-26-04, 03:09 PM | "Evil is evil. But how would you propose one lives longer? How do you maintain alive for so long, as as a half orc, nonetheless." |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-26-04, 03:13 PM | "Well now, thats a good question isn't it? Orcy has his ways, but sharing them with a decaying corpse wouldnt be what he would do with them. Orcy supposes that you may just have to figure it out for yourself." |
| ChaosEvoker11-26-04, 03:17 PM | Racanth gives Orcy a surprised and inquisitive look. "I suppose I shall...." he turns away mumbling to himself. "...one way or another." |
| Dyne11-27-04, 08:37 PM | :bump: I just realized something. If you look at the smilies while the page is loading, they move in slow motion. I noticed this when I saw the smilie dancing in slow motion. (or maybe this is just because I have a crappy internet provider) |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 11:07 AM | I noticed that when my computer was loading slowly. |
| ChaosEvoker11-28-04, 04:07 PM | "So when are we to meet this Lady, Delwyn?" |
| Bait the Bard11-29-04, 03:02 AM | "Lady Nairobi will be avaliable after she has delt with all her various obligations as host; I do not know when this will be. Still, I can sho you to one of her meeting rooms where you can be refreshed and watered, while I see if she is not currently occupied. how say you?" |
| ChaosEvoker11-29-04, 11:20 AM | There is a blinding flash of light, and then Racanath stands there. He is obviously a true Sun Elf, and no longer a lich. His dark aura is gone and his beautiful golen skin sttract then attention of no small amount of ladies in the room. His robe is now a pure white rather than the pitch black it was. "I am healed. Show me to this meeting room. I look forward to meeting with the lady." |
| Droga11-29-04, 12:29 PM | Droga growls at the creature that has just appeared. He stalks along the roof, dropping down infront of Racanath. His eyes glowing as he moves his head to eye level with the ex-lich. "Racanath, have you betrayed us? Your new form is as disgusting as it is pitiful. You wear white as if one of those 'good' creatures. Have you turned your back on your allies?" |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 03:32 PM | "Lady Nairobi will be avaliable after she has delt with all her various obligations as host; I do not know when this will be. Still, I can sho you to one of her meeting rooms where you can be refreshed and watered, while I see if she is not currently occupied. how say you?" I am ready at any time. I too would like to be shown one of the meeting rooms. @ChaosEvoker: Why the sudden change in heart and form, Racanath? |
| ChaosEvoker11-29-04, 04:57 PM | "I have found a higher calling. One with more oppurtunity, more power, and a better road. I no longer follow the evil path. Nor do you really. You fight for good causes in evil manners. I hope someday you will come to find a way to achieve your goals without resorting to foul tactics. My power is no less however." |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 04:59 PM | I've already learned darkspeech, though. Besides, I also have my reasons for using the tactics that I do... |
| ChaosEvoker11-29-04, 10:30 PM | "And what reasons are those? Also, I do not know what you mean by 'darkspeech,' my friend." |
| Dyne11-29-04, 11:21 PM | Droga growls at the creature that has just appeared. He stalks along the roof, dropping down infront of Racanath. His eyes glowing as he moves his head to eye level with the ex-lich. "Racanath, have you betrayed us? Your new form is as disgusting as it is pitiful. You wear white as if one of those 'good' creatures. Have you turned your back on your allies?" "I agree. It would be most 'unpleasant' what we would do to a traitor." A man wearing a black robe has just walked into the ball. He is quite handsome, with jet black hair, and he walks with a staff of ebony, though he does not lean on it. Light seems to be slightly dimmer around him. |
| Droga11-30-04, 01:10 AM | "Traitors must be dealt with... you will not see it coming Racanath. But it will come. You will die a horrid death and fall into the pits of hell for the crims you have comitted against your people. For while we die and return to the begining, you will be judged, and fall far and fast." |
| Demonfey11-30-04, 07:57 PM | "And what reasons are those? Also, I do not know what you mean by 'darkspeech,' my friend." Darkspeech is the language of the most foul and unholy denizens of the lower planes. To speak it without being physically prepared can kill the speaker. I can speak darkspeech without fear of killing myself because of a vowel. My reasons are my own, and no one else's to know. |
| Tenzhi11-30-04, 08:13 PM | A little old man apparently of gnomish descent quietly slips in. He is dressed in simple loose-fitting black silk garments. His head is bereft of hair - a fact made up for by prodigious silvery-white eyebrows and a long, narrow silver beard. His eyes are completely hidden by impenetrable shadows as if to protect onlookers from the weight of wisdom they might see therein. Any who view him through the eyes of true seeing will become disoriented as they will be seeing everything and nothing all at once. To those whose eyes detect magic, his entire being glows brightly with all the colours of the magical rainbow and a few besides - the whole display producing a colour that one might describe as "octarine." |

Ah, another Pratchett fan. :D |
| ChaosEvoker11-30-04, 10:25 PM | Racanath spins to Droga and the newcomer "You fools! This..." He holds up his hold phylacerty. "...was a crime against my people! I do not pledge my allegance to an alignment but to a cause. THe cause of avenging my families death. Beware what threats you make before I decide to crush you. I have no grudge against you, Droga. Consider me a "Traitor" if you will. I allied with your guild because it suited my purpose at the time. I have found the best way to achieve that goal now. My powers are stronger, not weaker. We shall see who has the last laugh in this. Wait until the tournament, I fight for the Counsil of Archmages, we shall see who is weaker there. I am a war mage, after all." |
| Droga11-30-04, 10:47 PM | "You will recieve what you deserve traitor. Your magics are nothing more than pathetic parlor tricks. You are nothing compared to me. If you wish to battle, then let us do so. It will be over so fast, you'll be wishing you still were an undead beast." |
| ChaosEvoker12-01-04, 11:13 AM | Laughs mockingly at Droga. "Maybe I will show you what true power is. If you wish to battle, we will sometime. Now is not the time or place. But I am no triator. I do not serve you or your guild. I serve my cause. If this must come to blows, I will crush you." |
| Demonfey12-01-04, 03:58 PM | Droga, here is a tip: never taunt a person who is a true archmage. They have more variety on their spells than even a wizard who knows all spells. |
| Droga12-01-04, 04:09 PM | "Here is a tip for you crowley, shut your mouth. I grow tired of your constant defense of the so called good creatures. As for you traitor, you have betrayed us. You will never be able to defeat me. All that will come of your threats is death, just as it has for all those before you. All that has happened with you change into a mortal beast, is you have grown more cocky. Which will lead to your downfall in the end." |
| Demonfey12-01-04, 04:23 PM | That was not in defense of them. That was a warning I found out the hard way. Besides, if you kill them now, then things will become less interesting. :schemes: |
| Von Crown12-02-04, 08:16 PM | "Ah, the sweet smell of hatred. This promisies to be a good show, although I am quite... displeased at Archmage Racanth's "defection", though I also wonder if he was not indeed originally a spie serving our enemies all along. We will, of course, still be victorios, and for any who do not beleive this to be so, I find your lack of faith disturbing" At that, the 7-foot tall suit of armor turns to him, and speaks in a rasping voice. "Master, I have just received word that our forces have broken through the Auntiril defensive lines. We have finally claimed Hive World number sixty-seven." "Very good. Perhaps it is time to plan the invasion of the next..." |
| ChaosEvoker12-02-04, 09:20 PM | "Yes go on rambling, Droga," Racanath thinks. It's that arrogance I'm counting on to be your downfall. He laughs at how Droga ignores Crowley's sound warnings. "Say what you will, we will let battle decide when the time comes. I have...better things to do with my tiem currently than waste it on smiting you Droga." |
| Demonfey12-02-04, 09:23 PM | Oh, Droga could still take you. I was just warning him that you wouldn't be easy to defeat. No offense, but he can still take you. |
| ChaosEvoker12-02-04, 09:42 PM | OOC: Oh I'm aware that right now Droga coudl probably kill me. But my character doesn't show fear and is not easily intimidated. Hence the reason he's acting like Droga is a waste of his time when really he is going to be building up his power so that he will be able to defeat Droga. Racanath turns to Crowley. "Perhaps you underestimate me Crowley. Some day you and I shall have ot mageduel. That is my favorite type of fight. Any fool can swing a sword...." He takes a sideways look at Droga "...or claw. BUt it take true skill and cunnign to cast spells." |
| Demonfey12-02-04, 09:46 PM | I admit, I would enjoy that. Unfortunately, you are still too weak to face me. You are just beginning to learn the powers of the archmage, while I have mastered them. In any case, perhaps you underestimate Droga. Remember, he defeated Dyne. That took some strategy on Droga's part. |
| ChaosEvoker12-02-04, 09:52 PM | "I myself can summon others to do my fighting for me. Strategy, or cowardice?" What level is crowley? |
| Demonfey12-02-04, 09:56 PM | He fought Dyne head on. The fight you're thinking about now is his fight against Helm. His level is 23. He is currently standing in the background and doing what he pleases short of combat and crimes. |
| ChaosEvoker12-02-04, 09:58 PM | I see, yeah way above my head. Epic level and all. "The controversilal Iron Bands Fight. I wouldn't even question whether that was strategy or cowardice. Only a fool would think that to be strategy." |
| Demonfey12-02-04, 10:03 PM | Wrong fight again. I'm talking about his first fight. |
| ChaosEvoker12-02-04, 10:06 PM | "I guess I did not see that battle. Nevertheless, his last two battles have showed what he has to resort to now to win." |
| Von Crown12-02-04, 10:07 PM | "Sometimes great strategy is born of cowardice, take for example the battle of Kuren Dom... But I can see I bore you, and I'm sure you know not the battle of which I speak. It is lost in millenia of Dauthaari history, and many great sages now debate whether the battle ever even actually occured. I, of course, know the truth, but I don't feel like talking. However, know that while bravery may die and be remembered, cowardice lives on" |
| Dyne12-03-04, 05:56 PM | I'd like to take this space of text to remind everyone that I have several characters participating in the IFWG. Each one uses a different text font and a different text color to be able to distinguish between them. If you forget which is which, my signature has my various characters with what font/color text they use in-character. "The one you recall, Racanath, is the fight with my father, Helm Dundragon." A knight in heavy, metal armor with a white surcoat and purple cloak approaches the group and interrupts the conversation. "My father fought valiantly, and he would have won. But, he came to the battlefield unprepared. That is a mistake he will not have the chance to repeat." "Quit your whining boy. It's your father's fault he is dead. And he deserved his fate for being a thick-headed fool. Now get over it." These words are spoken by a handsome man in a black robe. He has black hair and he walks with an ebony staff, but he does not lean on it. You recognize him as Aseir. Helm is no longer in the ballroom (because he's dead). Dyne is no longer in the ballroom. Bren Dundragon and Aseir Pashar are engaged in the conversation between Crowley and Racanath, and they're about ready to tear each other apart. |
| ChaosEvoker12-03-04, 07:47 PM | As if this place couldnt' become more tense, in walks a dark looking man. He wears black spiked plate mail and carries a truly wicked greatsword. He is intimidating. He has no hair and is tatooed all over his body, including the top of his head and the back of his neck. His icy blue eyes are frightening to look into. "And from what I hear of your father, Bren, good thing. I hope your father suffered a painful death, I regret I wasn't there to laugh as the life went out of his frail body. He deserved to die, the wretch. He and any other goody-two-shoes that dares to exists shoudl suffere a long-painful death. Good thing Droga got to your father Bren, for if I had killed him, he woudl have suffered the longest most painful death I could concieve." |

The look on his face shows utter disgust and hatred. "Watch your words, for I am not easily provoked, but I am a devil in a fight." The man in black robes laughs at Bren as if he were a pathetic child. |
| ChaosEvoker12-03-04, 07:56 PM | He dismisses Bren with a wave of his hand. "This is no place for fighting, put your sword away. Much as I wish to crush you, I have more tact than that." He gives a look at Bren that obviously says "unlike some people" and laughs darkly. "But we will battle, soon. When we do, I will kill you. When I do, you will die, just like your father did. But I will make sure you suffer enough for both you and your father before you do. When you go to meet him in the afterlife, make sure to tell him all about it." He begins to laugh again as if he had told a particularaly funny joke and looks around surveying the area. |
| Von Crown12-03-04, 09:15 PM | I feel stupid, I posted in the complete wrong thread |
| Bait the Bard12-06-04, 05:02 AM | Spying a group of unusual, to say the least, guests standing by, without any obvious refreshment, a non-descript servent quickly takes up a tray of drinks, exquisite white wine and pate with crispbread, and skillfully slips into the group, offering drinks with practiced sub-servience and skill, and if so inclined, food all around, as well as taking away empty glasses, and the like. As he heads off toward the bustling serving tables, he surupticiously brushes by Crowley and Aseir, much practiced hands slipping a small note into their pocket. The servent then turns, bows and leaves, the gold ornamentation on his uniform shining in the light. |
| Demonfey12-06-04, 06:21 PM | {Crowley checks his pockets, and reads the note inconspicuously.} |
| Tenzhi12-06-04, 06:29 PM | The old man stops the servant before he slips away, and orders a mug of kerosene on ice. So practiced is this waiter's skill that he doesn't bat an eye or raise a brow at the order, if he finds it unusual at all. |
| Von Crown12-06-04, 08:23 PM | A robed figure with a topknot and bushy eyebrows walks in. He seems on edge, until he spots Mordred. When he does, he immediatly does a backflip away, and enters a fighting stance.Mordred stands up and reaches inside his jacket. "Ah, Allegro, It has been a while. I suppose your still mad about your brothers, aren't you. But you know, I really isn't healthy to be so angry for so long." He throws back his head in a laugh. Although, I could have Toccata here very quickly. Would you like that? He pulls a fist-sized cube out of his jacket "It really wouldn't be any trouble... Now listen. This is neither the time nor the place. We shall meet on the field of battle some other time."At that, Allegro backs away and turns towards a waiter, attempting to sign what he wants. |
| Bait the Bard12-07-04, 12:44 AM | The note reads as follows: Follow the waiter and wait by the door. All has been arranged. Meanwhile, the waiter was heading over toward the servents' tables, ostentasiously to fetch some 'kerosene on ice', and glancing around, trying to see wether any other guests needed refreshment. |
| ChaosEvoker12-07-04, 12:35 PM | Racanath noticing Crowley pulling out the note sees Delwyn walking off. Not wanting to seem like he is suspicious of Crowley, he plans in his mind to follow Crowley at a distance and see what's going on. He has not seen what the note reads, but he is suspicious nevertheless. Demogor notices Crowley and Droga and walks up to them. "Ah fellow GoUE members! What sinister smiting of good are we currently planning here?" |

| Xen15512-07-04, 07:07 PM | A bit of intrigue for the evening eh? |
| Demonfey12-07-04, 08:57 PM | I didn't cause it. |
| ChaosEvoker12-07-04, 09:27 PM | Racanath follows Crowley at a distance. Keeping a close eye on him. But not getting close enough to raise suspicion. |
| Demonfey12-07-04, 09:30 PM | {Crowley activates his detect thoughts spell-like ability, and notices Racanath. He acts as though the elf mage isn't there.} |
| ChaosEvoker12-09-04, 11:24 AM | Fortunately Racanath was wearing his Amulet of Non-Detection and Crowley can't read his htoughts. Though he may notice the elf, he has no idea of his intentions. |
| Demonfey12-09-04, 05:58 PM | Fortunately Racanath was wearing his Amulet of Non-Detection and Crowley can't read his htoughts. Though he may notice the elf, he has no idea of his intentions. Right now, it's to notice who may or may not be planning to try and assassinate him and if anyone is currently diverging on him. |
| Dyne12-09-04, 08:46 PM | Aseir uses magic to read the note without pulling it out. Seeing Racanath following Crowley, he gives the "traitor" a nasty look before heading after the waiter, thinking of what this could entail and preparing himself in case of any "surprises". |
| Dyne12-09-04, 09:08 PM | <<These double posts are really irritating me. That's the second one tonight>> |
| ChaosEvoker12-10-04, 08:00 AM | Racanath noting Aesir, also thinks to use magic and instead goes to the waiter. |
| Dyne12-10-04, 09:29 PM | Racanath noting Aesir, also thinks to use magic and instead goes to the waiter. Racanath feels a link open up in his mind, and he feels claws tear at the fabric of his soul. The feeling is horrible, a reminder of what he once was and where he may end up if he isn't careful. The feeling disturbs him, and makes him think twice about following. The spell was actually a Demand spell, with a Suggestion to not follow Aseir and Crowley. Will Save DC 31 to resist the Suggestion. |

| Von Crown12-31-04, 04:24 PM | I'm going to assume their's a massive chandelier for this (there should be) Mordred takes a crossbow bolt through the stomach but dosen't seem to notice. Closing his eyes, he takes a dagger out from under his cloak, throwing it at a large, ornate chandelier hanging from the cieling and using mis mind to use it to cut the gold chain holding it up. The chandelier come crashind down, most likely killing about half the attackers. Good? |
| Bait the Bard01-02-05, 12:21 AM | Not bad, not bad. The only thing being that there are about.. 25? chandeliers just hanging around the place ;) Still, it will work :D Exept that I'm off to the coast for two weeks, so just put it on hold till then :) |
| De Batavier01-02-05, 10:58 AM | Using the plate he was eating from as a shield to deflect the incoming bolts, Karl Abend moves to the side. He has no weapons, but a warlock does not need such things. An invoction makes him invisible. Feeling that he is now safe he watches the other remaining guest and the attackers fight. He takes a nearby apple. Looking with interest at the fight while taking bites from his apple. |
