| Bait the Bard12-06-04, 01:27 AM | Okies, here's where you can make your bets :plotting: I am setting this up as a way to ern money, so I will keep track. Odds work like this; you place 20gp on a 3 : 2 bet. If your guy wins, you get 3 times the amount the amount of money you betted. On the other hand, if you betted 20gp on a 2 : 3 bet, if your guy won, you would get twice the amount. I will take 10% of the money betted to make a profit. :plotting: Bet's will not be taken for the current battle, and will only be taken when Orcy announces the battle. - The Betting Booth - Money made: 0gp The ever present entrepreneur, Delwyn, had arrived on the scence of the duels, and quickly set up his stall, made of polished wood, with stone corners, to keep it stable. Painted red stips rimmed it, alongside large pasty white canvas to the side, showing the days bets for the keen gambler. Two hired mercenaries guarded the stall, to the sides, incase a gambler got to angry at the amount of money he lost. The stall was now open, with Delwyn behind the counter, eager to begin the bussiness day, and with a more subtle purpose, to find out who was here, and their bussiness. |

You can take a percentage of the money that is bet for yourself, and split the rest among the people who won. Just a suggestion. EDIT: Wait, why won't you take bets on the current fight? And probably you would get only the mony you bet and half that amount again from betting on Demonfey (crowely) 2:1 (for every two gold pieces betted you gain one if you win) The more people bet the more the rates fluctuate. Bait, my earlier bet was made before it was clear Demonfey would take the challenge instead of Orcy, can it be changed to Demonfey (those pesky timezones darn) |

Don't think it works the way you do now. 3:2 means, i think, for every 3 gps betted you gain 2 if you win (and offcourse the amount you betted in the first place. From this amount you should take a percentage, your fee for taking the bets ;) Think the starting rate for a bet on Gurgetar would be like 5:1 (because he won all his battles) If a lot of people betted on him for a new fight the rate could become even worse (the booky covering his behind ;) ) And on my charachter Karl Abend maybe 1:5 (because he lost most of his battles) And if more people betted against him the rate could be even higher for the few that do bet on him (the underdog) |
