| Von Crown12-13-04, 01:45 AM | Hi again. This time I've decided to start an organization for mad biologists like myself... It's also an extention of the Vaermyl hive, and a group that trains Necrobiologists (spellcasters who specialize in grafts, necromancy, and trasmutation) So anyone who wants to play a mad scientist, join on up! Members List: Me! Grimclaw Thasis Turalisj Dyne Demonfey puffthemagicdragon |
| grimclaw12-13-04, 06:40 AM | Make me a member.I've always been interested in applying modern genetics with magic.Magic is like the ultimate geneticists tool kit.Does this officially make me a mad scientist? If so I should practice my evil laugh. :D no thats not it, :evillaugh there it is. |
| thasis12-13-04, 07:34 PM | Thasis the Evil walks in. "I may not be mad but I have a great intresest in Biology and creation of vile creatures. I will join if I am allowed" |
| turalisj12-13-04, 09:00 PM | :evillaugh some of us are just plain mad. count me in. i just used the perfect graft combo, though some may think it's lame...... 5 unholy whips grafted into the fingers of an ogre mage!!!! :evillaugh |
| Dyne12-13-04, 09:03 PM | Hmmm, I'm not exactly a mad biologist, but I AM a mad chemist. Count me in, I suppose. Would that Ogre even be able to use all those whips at the same time? |
| turalisj12-13-04, 09:05 PM | the dm let me get the multi-attack feat for my ogre. i had some flayed haflings for lunch :D |
| Demonfey12-13-04, 10:14 PM | I'm in too. I am my experiment... |
| Von Crown12-13-04, 10:45 PM | You're all in. Welcome! Mordred steps aside and opens the massive door to the Syndicate guildhalls. "Here you can find everything you may need, from alchemical laboratories upstairs, to a well-stocked repository of preserved parts in the back. Also, the west wing has housing accomodations for all who need a place to stay." |
| thasis12-13-04, 11:06 PM | "I've been meaning to build a half-spider half-frog creature for a long time". With that he walks over to the labotory and get to work. |
| Von Crown12-13-04, 11:12 PM | "Well... that's very... inspired..." Mordred walks through the entryway of the guild, walking arund a massive pillar. "Oh, by the way, after the incident a the Guild of Ultimate Evil involving a certain spy I would still like to see captured, anyone I don't know will have to submit to a brain scan." He indicates towards a large machine in the corner with a dome hanging by some wires "After all, I wouldn't want any of my secrets to escape. One more thing, you will need these rings to bypass all the traps I have set up." With that, he hands one ring each to Dyne's char, Crowley, and Thasis |
| thasis12-13-04, 11:29 PM | Thasis takes the ring. "Thank you, this will be of use". He then goes back to his vile works. |
| Demonfey12-14-04, 06:48 PM | Thank you. Do you know if any Igors are in need of hiring, by the way? |
| Dyne12-14-04, 07:04 PM | "Excellent. Now, to get to work on making new and horrible poisons." Aseir gathers some chemicals and carries them to a laboratory. |
| Demonfey12-14-04, 08:37 PM | Come! The project Mordred and myself worked upon is about to face its first real test! Come see it at the HEF! |
| Gellion12-14-04, 09:01 PM | Hmmm, I am disapointed that I did not think of this. Oh, well, it does not matter, as it is ultimately inconsequential. No, do not count me among your members. |
| Von Crown12-14-04, 09:04 PM | Mordred speaks with his eyes closed- "The assault on the Guild of Pure Good has also commenced." |
| Dyne12-14-04, 09:12 PM | Mordred speaks with his eyes closed- "The assault on the Guild of Pure Good has also commenced." Oh great. Now all my characters will be fighting each other. So far, I already have two good characters and two evil characters. [sigh] This will get complicating. |
| Demonfey12-14-04, 09:22 PM | Oh great. Now all my characters will be fighting each other. So far, I already have two good characters and two evil characters. [sigh] This will get complicating. Fail the saves, and go all evil. ;) |
| Dyne12-14-04, 09:26 PM | Fail the saves, and go all evil. ;) That'd actually be even worse. Dyne HATES Aseir. Imagine to what lengths he would go to destroy him if he were evil. That, and all of them would just fight each other. |
| Demonfey12-14-04, 09:29 PM | That'd actually be even worse. Dyne HATES Aseir. Imagine to what lengths he would go to destroy him if he were evil. That, and all of them would just fight each other. Yeah, but it would simplify things from there, and I could possibly convince them to just attack a common enemy. *coughHEFcough* |
| Von Crown12-16-04, 08:00 PM | lus if he turned evil, they might find things they have in common and ally themselves or something... Also, I'll put our artifact up as soon as I find where in my computer I put the file it's in. |
| Dyne12-17-04, 01:35 PM | lus if he turned evil, they might find things they have in common and ally themselves or something... Also, I'll put our artifact up as soon as I find where in my computer I put the file it's in. Very unlikely. Dyne and Aseir are exact opposites in every way. Even if Dyne was Evil, they would either still be complete opposites, or their interests would conflict. |
| Dyne12-17-04, 03:55 PM | Over at the Purple Dragons of Cormyr, we are trying to make stats for a Purple Dragon Dragoon-like creature (dragoons being a dragon-like humanoid, sorta like Dragon Disciples). | Dyne12-17-04, 09:47 PM | Well, what is it's breath weapon? Cone, line, beam of energy, what? We're figuring that out. Everyone, if you have a comment on the creature, please make it at the Purple Dragons of Cormyr thread. It's hard to keep track of comments from several threads. And, we can collaborate more easily. |
| Demonfey12-17-04, 09:51 PM | From what I remember, the original purple dragon was a good black dragon. It should be a line of acid, then. |
| Dyne12-17-04, 09:52 PM | From what I remember, the original purple dragon was a good black dragon. It should be a line of acid, then. I've never heard that. From my knowledge, the Purple Dragon was a dragon that had elven blood, causing its purple coloring. |
| Demonfey12-17-04, 09:56 PM | Well, I could be wrong, but the dragon probably was both. It makes sense, if you think about it. A little lighter black dragon, maybe a slightly different hue, and it would be purple to the common eye. |

| grimclaw12-20-04, 06:55 AM | I'm going to assume my signet ring was lost in the mail. Location Syndicate auditorium, subject -A method of restoring incorporial undead to life using combined magic and genetics. equipment needed=1 crystal orb enchanted to hold captured spirit. 1 mindless or souless body(still living) genetic material of person to be restored or from close relatives container for unique energies of subject (if applicable) As an example we will use the Chosen of Mystra called Sylune.A spectral harpist she posses special problems as a chosen. step 1-place spirit within crystal orb step2-find and aquire a body(see items needed list)preferably of the same gender as this entails less work. step3-gather genetic material. As Sylune's body was completly destroyed we will have to gather samples from her sisters, preferably all six of them. step4-gather a measure of silverfire from each of her sisters. step5-drain blood from body and replace with samples.spells designed to recreate her dna by combining elements of the sample must be cast simutaneously. If done properly, the body should begin taken on the features of the subject over a period of several days.once completed the body will be a perfect replica of the subjects down to the genetic level.Even magic can not tell the difference. step6-inject the unique energies of the subject into the body,in this case silverfire. step7-Forcably inject and hold the spirit in the body. step8-Using a portion of your own lifeforce you must in effect jumpstart the subject(min.30 h.p.) step9-congratulations,you have just completly recreated a living being. The advantages of this method is the subject loses nothing,no matter how out of date the genetic material was or(as in this case)even if it was her own.Her skills and knowledge were contained within the spirit not the physical. It should be noted that the attending mage can adjust the subjects physical age roughly 10 years if so desired. please note that would be recreationists must devise thier own spells for the process as mine are protected by Baator copyright laws.Thank you for your time. :teach: |
| Demonfey01-04-05, 08:01 PM | You know, we could also help with the direction that the Warlock's Circle is going with the living ship. |
| turalisj01-04-05, 09:51 PM | hmm, time to build an army.... *starts working, shutting himself in the lab* :D |
| Demonfey01-04-05, 09:54 PM | I need help with a project. I want to make a new creature by taking hellfire wyrm blood, my blood, and the blood of another willing test subject, find a way to combine it, and then see if I can make a clone of it and have a large, destructive force that could be used as our main weapon. |
| Von Crown01-05-05, 07:53 PM | "Hmm... This could have potential..." Hey guys, any day now I should be getting Mongoose Publishing's book on crossbreeding, so expect some upcoming tests of the system. |
| Demonfey01-05-05, 07:55 PM | "Hmm... This could have potential..." Hey guys, any day now I should be getting Mongoose Publishing's book on crossbreeding, so expect some upcoming tests of the system. Perfect. We can definitely use that. Just tell us when you get it. |
| Von Crown01-05-05, 08:03 PM | will do. V.C. out |
| grimclaw01-08-05, 03:43 AM | I think I'll crossbreed a kender,a balor and a troll and see what I get. MY theory is a IRS rep. |
| Von Crown02-07-05, 12:48 PM | I'm back, and hopefully things will speed up once I get the book. (It still hasen't come yet. I'm begining to get suspicious.) In other news, one of my more unusual mutations is nearing completion. Bet you guys can't wait. |

Also, what happened with that marriage thing? |
| Von Crown02-07-05, 05:01 PM | I hit a balance snag in some testing. Plus, I was talking about a new type of mutant kobold I've been working on. Also, once everything is up and running, then I'll have the wedding. |

| Von Crown02-07-05, 05:44 PM | I know you didn't. It was supposed to be a surprise. *casts modify memory* |
| Demonfey02-07-05, 05:53 PM | I know you didn't. It was supposed to be a surprise. *casts modify memory* Sorry about that. *Other nine remember.* |
| Von Crown02-07-05, 05:55 PM | *casts it on everybody else* hehe... |
| Demonfey02-07-05, 06:05 PM | *casts it on everybody else* hehe... I didn't think you knew about the other "shard" essences inside of Crowley. Basically, there is one of each alignment, and they all don't like any of the others. There is a better explanation in the Blue Lizard. |
| Von Crown02-07-05, 07:59 PM | From deep beneath the hall, a sudden overpowering droning is heard. Mordred pulls a lever, and a large metal doorway in the floor opens up. From this flies a massive swarm of insectlike creatures, moving too fast for mush detail to be seen, but appearing to be approximatly the size of a halfling. Mordred puts his arm out to the side, and one breaks from the swarm and lands on his arm. It looks mostly like a large jet black moth, but its compound eyes glow red with an inner malevolence, and it's mandibles drip a thick, tarlike substance. It's antennae hum very softly, and carry a strong smell of ozone. There is one other thing that catches your eye. At the tip of it's abdomen rest a wicked, daggerlike stinger nearly eight inches in length. Zel'Ag Small Vermin Hit Dice: 9d8+63 (104 hp) Initiative: +2 Speed: 30ft. , Fly 50 ft. Armor Class: 24 (+2 Dex, +2 size, +10 Natural) Base Attack/Grapple: +6/+8 Attack: Bite +12 Melee (2d6+4 plus Poison) Full Attack: Bite +12 Melee (2d4+4 plus Poison), Sting +7 Melee (1d12+4 plus implant), Electric Antannae +7 Melee Touch (1d6 electric damage) Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft. Special Attacks: Poison, Implant, Spell-Like Abilities Special Qualities: Hive Node, Impact Saves: Fort +13 Ref +5 Will +6 Abilities: Str 18, Dex 14, Con 28, Int -, Wis 16, Cha 10 Skills:- [b]Feats:- [b]Environment: Any Organization: Any Challenge Rating: ? Treasure: None Alignment: Always Lawful Evil Advancement: Special Level Adjustment:- Combat Implant (Ex): The Zel'Ags sting attack injects the target with eggs. Treat this as a disease, fort DC 18 to resist, 1d4 day incubation, initial effect 1d4 constitution damage, secondary damage, death as the eggs hatch as a new Xel'Dri swarm burrows out of the subjects stomach. Spell-Like Abilities: At will- improved hypnotism (No HD limit, up to 3 targets, DC 15), wind wall (DC 17), lightning bolt (DC 17); 3/day- control winds (DC 19), wind walk, whirlwind (DC 22), chain lightning (DC 20). Caster level 18th. Poison (Ex): Blood of Dromkar: Injury poison delivered by the creatures bite attack, the damage is a change in alignment by one step for each effect. To resist it requires a fortitude save DC 22. The pure evil that flows through the targets body changes their appearance as well. With each step their skin becomes darker. If the second save is failed, their skin become black to mirror the taint that is now on their soul. They do not want to change back to their origional alignment, they instead like their new alignment, wishing never to go back. An Atonement spell cast immediately after a wish can restore the alignment to the person. This is because they will need to rid the body of the Blood of Dromkar first. (changes: LG => LN => LE, NG => TN => NE, CG => CN => CE) Impact (Su): The natural weapons of a Zel'Ag hit with great force, and as such cause a sunder attempt against the opponents armor or shield if the item's increase to AC would mean the difference between hitting or missing the opponent. For sunder attempts, the Zel'Ag's natural weapons are treated as +9 for the purposes of determining what magic items they can break. Hive Node (Ex): Each Zel'Ag has a Slave Hive Node. |
| Demonfey02-07-05, 08:24 PM | Yay! They're done! |
| Von Crown02-07-05, 08:30 PM | Yeah, whaddya all think? |
| Demonfey02-07-05, 08:44 PM | I like them, especially since I can control them. Also, let's try not to stir up conflict at the negotiations, Von Crown. If anyone is going to mess them up, let it be someone that they impact more than the people that can simply take residence in another plane. :D |
| Von Crown02-07-05, 09:01 PM | Hm? Are you talking about that weave-collapsing thing I was talking about? *Sends a message over the Hive Nodes* I completely made that up to see how they would react. So far, it hasn't really shaken much up, but wait 'till Sil responds. As for my challenge to Grimclaw, that was more of a joke, but if he takes me up on it, I'll gladly wipe that smile off his face and defeat him in the most humiliating way possible. The real me killed Pelor. In two rounds.:evillaugh |

Not when it leads to the rewriting of the past so that the IFWG doesn't exist. No rules are finished, as far as I can tell, and so conflict now means bringing the wrath of the Admins upon ourselves again. |
| alaron02-08-05, 12:07 PM | I would love to see the un lives of these creatures you are dealing with, and grafts are always fun. The whole mad biologist thing fits me very well. you see a man in taterd clothes and baring the bites of many inscets, I shall be called Tsictor. |

I've begun using them on my characters, and haven't been unhappy with the outcome. Bone plates have saved my character's life, and the antimagic eye allowed his hirer to bypass a nasty little trap without Crowley having to destroy it. |
| alaron02-08-05, 05:52 PM | I am not done making the character yet, but I am going to be a half air elemental, and I volunteer my blood, as long as, it leaves a nice visible scar on my body. |

Also, send me a link to your character, and I'll update the character collection posts. |
| alaron02-08-05, 06:01 PM | I accept your terms I will post the character soon. |

| Rurik "The Silent"02-14-05, 12:42 AM | well i was looking more for an active attacking and stuff role so ill jsut respectively pull out and find a spot where i can fit in. I really liek your idea though. Maybe you guys coudl do some work for my other guidl sometime. ill keep you in mind. We might need some poisonous plants bred. |
| alaron02-14-05, 12:27 PM | I was hoping for a more powerful and offensive guild. I was thinking it would be fun to lead an undead army against the city while I sit in the clouds raining down death and destruction upon those not willing to bow to us. Glad to see you Rurik. |
| Von Crown02-15-05, 11:28 PM | Well, we welcome any mutants, freaks, or other oddities, because the material would greatly help my work. Also, the Blackstar Syndicate could definatly use some 'enforcers'. Also, for undead armies, see the Risen Dead Foundation. |
| Von Crown02-16-05, 12:29 AM | "I almost forgot to mention one other thing. My four children are coming here for a sort of vacation. The first, and youngest, has just arrived." Out of the shadows behind Mordred comes a looming, winged shape. As it emerges, you discern a flat, scaled face, looking somewhat like a cross between some manner of demon and a lizard. Beneath this is a powerfully muscled, black-scaled torso with bright orange pattens swiling on the chest and down onto it's serpentine tail, whitch winds its way to a small horned snake's head at the end. On it's back are powerful looking wings, and it's claws look as if they could tear a balor to peices. It comes forward, and speaks in a very reptilian voice. "I am Gethrys. | alaron02-16-05, 12:06 PM | This guild immedeatly referd to itsself as a coalition of mad biologists so I ask what would be more odd, dominating, and perfect to a biologist than the undead. I also would like to make some creatures but that is a bonus the conquest in the name of science is what I was looking most forward to. Underad are only my pesonal specialty. I would love to lead the army of creatures in addition to my own undead. On a logistical note should we do like the shadows breath and blade and divide this guild in to sections intended to work together but maintain a bit of speciallization. |
| Demonfey02-16-05, 03:47 PM | "I almost forgot to mention one other thing. Well, lets just reiterate that they were interesting times and leave it at that, shall we?" |

Now, there is a hole in the wall.} Gods...I wanted to keep those memories repressed... |

| Demonfey04-30-05, 12:10 AM | Hey, Von Crown! Where have you been? PS: Crowley=dead. (my choice) |
| Von Crown04-30-05, 11:22 AM | I've had stuff I had to do, but now Mordred's gotten a bit stronger. So what's the deal with Crowley being dead? |
| Demonfey04-30-05, 12:13 PM | Less trouble with complaints, makes sure people can't ask him to partake in the combat, sets it up so that I can begin using the other characters I have in mind, etc. His replacement here will be a fleshwarper (Lords of Madness) |
| Von Crown05-01-05, 11:24 PM | Nice. I read that PRC and immediatly thought "Crowley" to tell the truth. |
| Von Crown05-03-05, 05:29 PM | So is Crowley dead dead, or just dead as in gone... I was kinda hoping he could come to Dauthaar. I'm planning and Epic campaign online sorta thing, and was kinda hoping he could come... On another note, for those who don't know, the GOUE carelessly allowed a powerful specimen to escape. They plan on destroying it, but I am even now moving towards convincing them to allow us to capture it for study purposes. Anyone who wishes to aid in the capture should say so. |

Dead as in body is gone but soul is just trapped on Carcerai cursing in every language in the multiverse and a few that don't exist anywhere in reality (outside reality is another matter). He could still be resurrected in a fashion for Dauthaar. |
| Cazic05-07-05, 07:12 PM | A voice speaks out from the darkness and when you look to its source you the the Drow Wizard Cazic. "I believe that this place could prove most....entertaining. Would I be welcome within these halls?" |
| Von Crown05-12-05, 06:38 PM | "Of course you'd be welcome. So, how goes the capture of the escapee?" I think it would be cool if we RPed Crowley's ressurection. I've been planning on starting a board elsewhere (EG, a different board) for a Dauthaar-based epic campaign. I'll post here when it's up. |
| Cazic05-13-05, 11:08 PM | "I know little of the monster's current status. We must make a point to ask of this at the GoUE. How goes your recovery team?" |
| Von Crown05-14-05, 12:23 AM | "I need more data before I can assemble a team." |

| Von Crown05-14-05, 09:41 PM | What to do with what now? Also, could I get an ECL for Crowley? |
| Demonfey05-14-05, 10:10 PM | Resurrection for your plan, and ECL 23. |
| Demonfey07-18-05, 02:33 PM | A...creature enters the hallway, and looks around. This place looks like as good a place as any to set up, although it looks like it needs a transfusion. With that, it opens a bag and pulls out a sack of what appears to be blood and attaches it to one of the walls. |
| thasis07-18-05, 05:40 PM | Thasis the evil walks into the chambers. "Well it seems as if this place needs some work. Where is everybody". He the notices the newcomer. "Hello stranger, who may you be?" |
| Demonfey07-18-05, 06:29 PM | Call me Igor The creature then extends a tentacle from its back, and shakes your hand, and you notice that there are two strange looking wings sprouting from the creatures back, and instead of legs, there is a tail. Oh, excuse me, let me call in a creature that decided to become a pet. Here, Fido! The creature that escaped from the GOUE bounds in, and begins licking the creature's face. |
| thasis07-18-05, 08:17 PM | "I see you've dealt with one of are problems. That is most helpful. Take care of him ;) " |
| Demonfey07-18-05, 09:13 PM | "I see you've dealt with one of are problems. That is most helpful. Take care of him ;) " *Pulls a chicken out of the sack he carries around* Okay, now balance the chicken on your nose, boy. That's it. Just balance the chicken...and eat the chicken, boy! You watch Fido flip the chicken off its nose and eat it with one chomp. Good Fido! |
| turalisj07-18-05, 10:16 PM | Very impressive. Maybe you can have him roll over next time. Jirax said, clapping. Jirax is my evil character, a half-red dragon goliath. bonuses: +12 str (powerhouse), -2 dex (a bit clumsy), +10 con (hit me all you want, i'll get right back up), +2 int (smarter than your average goliath), +2 cha (any words needed?) :D and he likes experimenting with elementals in order to form the perfect goliath army so he can rule over them. |
| Demonfey07-18-05, 10:28 PM | If he did, we'd need a new building. You hear a muffled clucking from the GOUE creature What did I tell you about chewing your food? The creature looks down, looking embarassed |

| Von Crown08-02-05, 08:04 AM | Mordred steps up to a podium. I plan on using this facility to open a portal for tours of Dauthaar's capitol city in the near future. All members are invited to come. That is all." |
| Demonfey08-02-05, 04:23 PM | Yay! |
| Von Crown08-03-05, 11:08 PM | Mordred walks over to a large switch on the wall and pulls it down. Two large, curved metal prongs rise up from the center of the floor, connecting at the top to form a circle approximatly fifty feet in diameter. Arcs of black electricity tarvel up the sides, and several sharp prongs face inwards from the edge, each about a foot long. The electricity arches from the prongs, meeting at the center. Mordred walks up and unsheaths his katana, rising on a floating platform towards the center. Bringing his blade around in one swift cut, he creates a rift in the air, into which the electricity flows, tugging at the edges and enlargening until it fills the enire metal frame. On the other side of the rift, a tunnel of some sort of pulsating purple gel stretches as far as the eye can see, and about every hundred feet, a large ring of gold seems to contain the unusual substance. Parked around a platform are several unusual vehiciles, each seating about ten people. They are sleekly designed, and seem to give the impression that they are quite fast. They are a sort of sandy beige, starting with a curved beaklike shape and gradually widening out into three targe tubes at the back. Certain parts are plated with gold, while in other places odd pipes emerge and run aways along the surface. "I welcome you all to my latest acheivment- The first inter-reality transit road!" |
| Demonfey08-19-05, 02:11 AM | Ooh, very nice... |
| Von Crown08-27-05, 01:16 AM | Mordred and the others with him at the party walk in. He walks to the wall, and presses a switch. From the ceiling descends a long spiral stairway, going up into a previosly unknown section of the base. At the top is a spacious ballroom situated beneath a massive glass dome held up by a metal framework. Near one end of the room, a massive organ rests, it's pipes intermixing with the support structure of the roof. It seems to have five rows of keys, with various knobs and switches all along the sides. Around most of the rest of the wall are many tables, as well as a buffet with dozens of well prepared normal dishes, as well as some... rather unusual cuisine, most of which you can't recognize. Mordred seats himself at the organ and begins adjusting the many settings on it. "I do hope someone shows up... It was a good party... stupid king, going and declaring war..." |
| thasis08-27-05, 02:02 AM | Thasis the Evil carefully walks into the chambers. "I haven't been here in some time. It seems rather cozzy. Oh, and I'm pretty sure Thasis the Good won't be attending this party. He's not to fond of our people or this guild" Shocking Thasis the Evil, Thasis the Good walks into the building. "Hello Mordred. It's a pleasure to finnaly meet you. I don't agree with your methods or ideology in life but I do enjoy talking to you in times of peace" |
| Dyne08-27-05, 11:26 AM | Stormhand strides into the Blackstar Syndicate base. There is no trace of the anger previously filling his every movement. He calmly strides to the buffet and helps himself to a glass of wine. "Foolish do-gooders. I could not stand to be under the scrutiny of so many hostile eyes," he calmly explains, regarding the recent incident at Ghashmal Keep. "But I'm not here to discuss troubles. War has been declared, and I'm certain the Blackstar Syndicate would love a chance to test its experiments on the field of battle. So, I'm here to propose an alliance." |

A rather ragged voice speaks from behind Stormhand. "Finally, someone with balls. Someone who can see the true need for war in this damned land. Perhaps I can make an offer to you as well." Sargatanas stands with a small group of undead soldiers, his lack of flesh in the area of his mouth preventing any noticable smile. His body is covered in black robes lined with red arcane symbols. His hair is long and a ratty black with daggers woven into the ends of his many braids. He walks around him and stops infront of stormhand, his cold icy eyes looking into the king's. "Shall we talk... business..." |

Or would you prefer some place away from prying eyes and ears?" |
| Sargatanas08-27-05, 12:17 PM | Sargatanas looks around and shrugs his shoulders. He takes a seat and puts his arms over the back of the chair. Pushing out another seat with his foot toward Stormhand. He cracks his knuckles and nods to the other undead, who take up positions around the room, some standing by the door, and a vampire taking a seat beside Sargatanas. "Well, as you are going to war I may have some things that can help you. My own undying soldiers, they never tire, and never need sleep. Also... I can make your soldiers more powerful. Giving them eternal life and strength. It would do them well indeed to be made stronger, if you intend to fight as many armies as you have already angered." |
| Dyne08-27-05, 01:59 PM | Stormhand thinks over Sargatanas's offer. "Your undying soldiers would be a welcome addition to our repertoire. However, if you are suggesting turning my own men into undead, I cannot agree to this. I am not their owner, I have no right to force them into a state of being that would ultimately be detrimental to their existence. All of them have families and live outside of their service to Bristol. No one has any right to take that away from them." |
| Sargatanas08-27-05, 02:06 PM | Sargatanas laughs, looking upward as he does so. Bringing his gaze back down toward Stormhand his eyes betray a bit of a grin. "Detrimental? Not at all. I do not ask you to force them. But gather those who would seek to live forever and gain greater power. They will be the ones who gain immortality and power. That is all I suggest. It would be good ideed to have those who you know will always be loyal. After all, even I may change my mind in time. But for now, I will ally myself with you, my guild does the same as you know. So we will fight side by side. |
| thasis08-27-05, 02:12 PM | Thasis the Evil listens into the conversation. "Mmmm, I am one for control but don't you think war right now is to soon? We havn't got anything truely prepared. If we are going to war then what shall we do to build up are... defenses" Thasis the Good shakes his head solmenly. "War has broke out where none need to be. I don't understand why everyone drives for power. Greed is yet another sin leading to damnation". |

I don't understand why everyone drives for power. Greed is yet another sin leading to damnation". Sargatanas turns to look at Thasis the good and growls. He stands from his chair and his eyes flash with an undead fury. "Save me your preaching. My soul was damned long ago, and will stay as it should be. When the demons want me they can come and get me themselves. Until then, I will remain and bring death and rebirth to all those who are worthy of it. For eternal life does not come without death. I am eternal, I am forever. I am the damned, but I do not feel so damned considering how much I have gained. Damnation is a word used to threaten those who are different than what you would like. It means nothing to me anymore. So save your preaching, you won't find any converts here." |
| Zombomaniac08-27-05, 02:20 PM | A young lad walks into the guild and stands beside Stormhand. This young boy, for true he must be a boy little more than fifteen Winters, wears travel worn clothing, the symbol of the Stormhand Federation, and another symbol you do not know apon his chest. Behind him you see several other young lads take up positions around the hall, inside and out. "I have return from my journey away Master Stormhand and came to know your orders for how to serve you best." This is my Jacob "Storm Messanger" Mist PC. I have remade him a bit, but the personality is the same basicly. Still loyal as heck and the only CG PC in the SF. :D |
| Zombomaniac08-27-05, 02:55 PM | As Jacob speaks one of the lads comes up to him and whispers something in his ear. Jacob thanks the Lad and the then the Young man leaves. Jacob then turns to Sargatanas and bows."I am glad you wish to join us and welcome you. Please tell me more of these "empowements." If they help me serve Master Stormhand I may seek them." |

Sargatanas looks toward the young man and his eyes flash a brighter blue. He stands and approaches him, circling him a few times. He nodded his head and placed a dead hand on the young man's shoulder. "You could indeed be... helped in the manner I speak. To make you immortal, and ever living. For this, you would need to give up your life, and give in to that which many would call evil. But it is not as dark as they may think. Undeath and immortality are the same, you cannot gain eternal life without giving up the very life you wish to hold forever. With our help, you could become a powerful creature, dead, yet living. It is a wondrous thing to be... one as we are. It is powerful, and rewarding to be one of us..." |
| thasis08-27-05, 07:07 PM | "Mmmmm, I would embrace the gift of immortal life. That is if I didn't already have it. I am a Skygge. A powerful entity of evil from Dromkar. Immortality is a given if you are one of us" |

"Do not throw your life away! To gain what he speaks of, you would have to make a terrible sacrifice. It is not worth it! Not for you, you are too young!" |
| Sargatanas08-27-05, 07:45 PM | At this, Stormhand's anger flares up once more. "NO! I FORBID IT!" He grasps Jacob by the arm. "Do not throw your life away! To gain what he speaks of, you would have to make a terrible sacrifice. It is not worth it! Not for you, you are too young!" Sargatanas looks toward Stormhand, his eyes flashing red for a moment before returning to their blue color. His jaw sets as he moves toward stormhand, staring him in the eyes. "Who are you to forbid a man to do what he will with his life? You treat him as if he is a child who cannot make his own decisions. You believe him too foolish to decide what he must for himself? Do you see me as some sort of monster because of what I am? Because I am not among the living? It does not matter. The sacrifice is worth the benefits, there is so much to be gained, and so much power to weild as one like myself. There is great strength in forever." |
| Dyne08-27-05, 08:00 PM | Stormhand's stance is unmoving. "He does not realize the consequences in what you suggest. And it is my choice to look after his wellfare. This subject will be dropped, unless you want me as an enemy." Stormhand stares coldly back into Sargatanas's blue eyes. |
| turalisj08-27-05, 08:05 PM | ENOUGH!!You two are acting like a bunch of 20 year olds! The boy can make a choice for himself. So let him. He should deal with the consquences himself. Came Turalisj's voice from a few feet away. had to put a stop to your arguing somehow. |
| Dyne08-27-05, 08:12 PM | ENOUGH!!You two are acting like a bunch of 20 year olds! The boy can make a choice for himself. So let him. He should deal with the consquences himself. Came Turalisj's voice from a few feet away. had to put a stop to your arguing somehow. "Shut your mouth, fool! This is none of your concern." Stormhand is too stubborn to be shut up that easily. |
| turalisj08-27-05, 08:21 PM | You know nothing of the tempations that imoortality could bring. And you know nothing of being torn between those you have sworn fealty to, and those you admire. Turalisj said. He stepped out of the shadows, revealing a scarred and mutilated face. I have been there, and I know what it is like. |
| Sargatanas08-27-05, 08:23 PM | "The subject will be dropped when the boy answers for himself. If you wish to have me as an enemy, so be it. I care not who I must kill. It would be far more beneficial for you to have me as an ally however, after all... you have declared war on the great majority of the world. Only a fool would make a potential ally, an enemy, when that is the case. Now silence yourself and let the child speak for himself, unless you do not believe he is capable. Then, take him home to mommy, he has no place in battle." Sargatanas looked back into Stormhand's eyes. His undead guard standing from their positions, other simply turning toward the men, having been standing in wait should trouble arise. He crosses his rotting arms and looks Stormhand over. Glancing toward Turalisj he speaks roughly. "As for you, I care not what you have to say. This does not concern you." He then turns his attention back toward Stormhand with a growl. |
| turalisj08-27-05, 08:27 PM | Turalisj returned to the darkness, raisin a single finger to the undead as he did so. :P |
| Dyne08-27-05, 08:30 PM | Stormhand waits furiously, giving Jacob a chance to speak for himself. |
| Von Crown08-27-05, 11:30 PM | "Well, it seems I was wrong to think none wished to continue the party. Also, you two, it is also for a compromise to be reached. If he does not wish to give his life to gain the powers of the undead, there are always grafts, or I could perform a more... specialized operation myself. Oh also, Lord Stormhand, I've been meaning to discuss with you the possibilities of a trade agreement between the two of us. Dauthaar, and indeed the whole world I come from, has an extrordinarily powerful magical field. As a 'natural' result, many unusual materials can be found. Take for example, Lytrum. I have here a sample of very pure lytrum." He reaches into his cloak and removes a small stone the size of a pea. "Not very large, I know, but pure enough and in large enough quantity to make enough alloy for a greatsword, if you mixed it with mythril. As for why you'd want to use it, well, look for yourself." He opens his hand, and the small amount of metal slowly begins to rise into the air. "If you were to make the afformentioned greatsword, it would be so incredibly light that a creature much smaller than the intended weilder could use it. For example-" HE reaches again into his cloack and removes a greatsword that seems to be made more for an ogre than one of his stature, but he hefs it as effortlessly as if it were a normal longsword. "As you can see, it is quite effective, albeit also quite rare. However, some of my reconaissance squads have recently located what we presume to be a very large supply. All that remains now is to rope the mountain in, and then we should be ready to provide it at unheard of low prices. Of course, we will need to find a method to price it other than by weight, as I beleive you have already ascertained the nature of lytrum. If you are interested, we may also be able to import some othe rare metals as well." |
| Dyne08-27-05, 11:45 PM | Stormhand sighs a deep, heavy sigh. He slowly turns to Von Crown, and it becomes apparent that he is very exhausted. "I apologize, I am no longer in any mood to discuss any kind of trading or 'business.' I assure you, Lytrum and your other rare metals would greatly interest me, but that would need to be discussed at a later time." He then turns to Sargatanas and Jacob. His eyes are filled with a great, deep sorrow, and he looks as though everything is blurred and meaningless to him. "The choice is yours to make, Jacob. I shall no longer interfere, it is not my business. I apologize, but I... I must take leave of all of you. It is time I returned to the Federation." William Bristol walks out the door and off down the dirt path, not bother to teleport or use any kind of magic to travel. In fact, he doesn't seem to be in any hurry at all, and he walks in order to walk, rather than to actually get anywhere. |
| Zombomaniac08-27-05, 11:56 PM | Before I make a IC respon I have something to say.....wow! I realy didn't expect this to turn into something so big. Bonus experiance for great RPing to everyone here I say...Wow. This fun. :D IC: Jacob looks to Stormhand and Sargatanas seeing infront of him two choices. No longer is his serigget father Stormhand and his new ally and brother in arms Sargatanas standing infront of him, but two very different futures. Jacob thinks upon this wondering how two people, who only moments ago where merely people, could suddenly become so much more without changing at all. He realizes that everyone is waiting for a responce from him and that they think he is still choosing between them, but in reality that choise was already made long before they looked to him for an answer. "I will follow Master Stormhands wishs. I will not move against him and if this is not what he wills for me than I shall not do it." Jacob then falls into a seat taxed more than one would think by the sheer wieght of the thoughts spinning through his head. He still wonders how these two could change into the hands of fate without ever changing. |
| Sargatanas08-28-05, 12:12 AM | Sargatanas looks toward the young man and nods his head. He rolls his shoulders a few times and motions toward the other undead. They all stand and form up behind him. He nods to Jacob once more, his eyes flashing for a moment he almost seems to smile. "Follow your master as you must, I really didn't expect you to go against his wishes. But a time may come when his fate lies upon your shoulders. Know then, that there will always be power within these decaying bodies. That there is indeed life after death for us. There is indeed a future when there is no life. Some day, your master's own life may hang in the balance, and his fate may be sealed by actions taken by you and his people. It is then, that we shall be ready. For we are ever present, we are always lurking. We are the dead, and we are everywhere... know it or not... we are... everywhere." With that, Sargatanas nods to the others and they head out the door. Their dead march accompanied by the sound of beating drums from one of their ranks. |
| Von Crown08-28-05, 12:23 AM | "Well, I certainly can't blame you. It took me a few years to work up the willpower to bring myself to do it. Of course, I was more worried about being able to free myself from my creator, though I got luck and found a particularly dim-witted vampire by the name of Hakkut Mabrinear. I actully convinced him during an eclipse that his patron diety had slain Pelor and destroyed the sun. While he was momentarily weakened, I staked him with a modified crossbow I'd made. I'd already broken his control, but I was feeling particularly malicious at the time. Ah, that was a long time ago..." |

| VampiricBloodlustNemesis10-21-05, 05:05 PM | NO MATTER THE SITUATION, I AND THE KOBOLD MARINES ( AKA Black Dragon Disciples) SHALL STAND OUR GROUND NEXT TO SARGATANAS. |
| Demonfey10-21-05, 07:28 PM | I just brought this page up for the merger... |
| thasis10-21-05, 08:50 PM | So how are we going to go about merging the guilds? |
| Demonfey10-21-05, 08:54 PM | Jagggar is wondering how it would work. It may be time to speak about it on the IFWG metathread |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 02:26 AM | Reality bends as the Blackstar Syndicates current headquarters fuse with a portion of the Half-Elf foundations halls and Carceri. |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 02:28 AM | Amazing what happens around creatures you make. :D |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 02:28 AM | Yeah, funny stuff happens when you mess with the Far Realms. Anyways, since it fused with Carceri, Crowley is free to fight himself... |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 02:31 AM | The creature hears metallic knuckles crack behind it. Fun time. :smirk: Still casting time stop defensively. |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 02:34 AM | You cast it... Now what? |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 02:53 AM | #rounds=5 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=172135) 1 Gate: summon a klurichirr. 2 Gate: summon a great wyrm red dragon 3 fiendform to full half fiend 4 will you allow giant size, even though it is technically a wu jen spell? It should be an easy spell to convert into a wizard spell. If so, giant size 5 reciprocal gyre Just give me a minute to update Carcerai Crowley (half mithral golem, didn't add because I didn't think it'd come up where it'd be important.) |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 02:55 AM | Sure, I'll allow that. I always thought myself that it didn't make sense that only Wu Jen got it. checks recyprocal gyre Doesn't have any active spell effects. Do the Summoned creatures act now or not until next round? |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 02:57 AM | All spells active on the creature hurt it, for a total equal to all the spell levels added together. |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 03:00 AM | What book is klurichirr in again? |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:01 AM | Fiend Folio. |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 03:02 AM | Ah, right, one of those. Okay. |
| Silmarien Aldalome10-23-05, 03:05 AM | *posting* |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 03:08 AM | I can't tell from Gate, would they act now or wait 'till next round? I'd presume now, as the Summon Monster Spells. |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:20 AM | Ah, right. Thanks for reminding me. They do actually act now Klurichirr summons two balors (can do that automatically) dragon exhales breath weapon 121 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=172138) damage. save 40 |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 03:27 AM | The flames lick around it's shell, but the creature seems unharmed. It rushes forward, trying to catch Crowley in it's massive jaws. Damage is 36 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=172142). |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:28 AM | On who? Also, yes or no on allowing the alterations? |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 03:39 AM | Edited post for clarity/finalizing some stuff. And if by alterations you mean giant size, then yes. Otherwise, I don't know what you're talking about, and you need to be more specific. Edited again 'cuz I forgot about Giant Size. |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 03:43 AM | I'm getting tired and it's thowing my DMing off. I'm gonna turn in, we can finish this, or at least progress it further, later today. G'night everybody. EDIT: Err... Good morning, I guess... |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:49 AM | I was talking about the half golem thing, but just realized that it won't matter, considering the choice of spells. Now for the alterations due to spells:First, since I keep forgetting to: Half fiend: +4 str, +4 dex, +2con; +1 AC. Giant size: +32 strength, -2 dex, +12 con, +12 nat. AC, -8 AC/atk mod, 30 ft reach Anyway, AC currently equals 36, so hit +36; +24=60; +25 str bonus 37 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=172144) versus grapple |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 03:50 AM | I'm getting tired and it's thowing my DMing off. I'm gonna turn in, we can finish this, or at least progress it further, later today. G'night everybody. EDIT: Err... Good morning, I guess... Okay. |
| Von Crown10-23-05, 03:46 PM | Grapple is irrelevant since you're too big after the Giant Size to be affected by it's imporved grab. Only works on huge or smaller. Next round, your move. |
| Demonfey10-23-05, 04:07 PM | Red dragon moves to flank creature, tries to begin grapple (37 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=172324) ) Balor1 uses greater teleport onto the neck of the creature Balor2 tries power word stun (DC 23, can't hurt) Klurichirr also teleports onto the back of the creature Crowley casts horrid wilting (DC 25), Roll to beat SR (seems likely) 33 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=172325) Math: 20+8(roll)+5 (archmage abilities taken that I forget the name of) *Meanwhile, on the world Mordred's body is on... Show me the one match for the description. |
| Demonfey10-24-05, 10:22 PM | In the fight... Come ON, NOAH! Where's that might you were bragging about? |
| Von Crown10-24-05, 11:09 PM | Grapple Check:55 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=172979) The creature easily knocks aside the dragon attempting to wrestle with it. It shifts its position slightly, and suddenly sinks into the ground, becoming slightly translucent as it does. A massive transparent tendril emerges from the ground and strikes at one of the Balors (The one that had teleported onto it's back). Becomes incorporeal and moves into ground. Tentacle attack (it changed form, if you hadn't guessed) attack roll 40 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173001) Improved grab w/ tentacle grapple check 58 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173005) EDIT: After I posted this, We will Rock You started playing in the backround. I'm dead serious. |
| Demonfey10-24-05, 11:13 PM | Thanks for leaving an opening for my Klurichir. Whatever happened to my spell, by the way? (Horrid wilting, still would have you save for half, also required you to say yes/no SR.) Also, what size was NOAH, anyway? Gargantuan? You're pseudonatural, aren't you? I used to change into something like you, until the spell was lost to a fool... Free balor charges and swings at NOAH 46 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173018) (+33 attack for balors) Klurichirr (who also was on NOAH) begins swinging its axes (get 4 attacks) 36, 36, 40 (crit, yet to confirm), 20 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173018) To confirm: 46 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173023) Trapped balor tries to teleport out of NOAH's grasp with a spell like: 40 (33 con+7) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173023) No way a balor can break that... Crowley takes flight (perfect maneuverability from feats and enchantments, its on there.) Then, he casts lower spell resistance (10+22+5+13=37+15=50, so fortitude save of 50 (come on, 1!) Red casts time stop. If successful, total rounds=5 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173026) I'll do damage rolls and whatnot after finding out what succeeds. |
| Von Crown10-24-05, 11:14 PM | Forgot to mention, failed SR. |
| Demonfey10-24-05, 11:34 PM | Okay. My above post isn't done yet, by the way. |
| Von Crown10-24-05, 11:39 PM | NOAH is collossal. And, most of it is currently uner the ground by the way, so it has cover. Also worth noting that the tentacle that came out became corporeal. Does lower Spell Resistance allow spell resistance? Better yet, What book is it in? Save is 44 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173027) |
| Demonfey10-24-05, 11:44 PM | Draconomicon, and no. Anyway, they're attacking the tentacle right now (want to see if I can actually hurt the thing, and besides, nat. 20!) |
| Demonfey10-24-05, 11:50 PM | Woohoo, something worked! Green energy surrounds the tentacle, and then flows into it, causing a field around it to become visible and weaken a bit. subtract 15 points from NOAH's SR. |
| Von Crown10-24-05, 11:55 PM | The tentacle is part of NOAH, I'm using normal rules for incorporeal creatures attacking out of objects, which says it gets cover An incorporeal creature inside an object has total cover, but when it attacks a creature outside the object it only has cover, so a creature outside with a readied action could strike at it as it attacks. Since it's staying out due to grappling, I'm treating it as the same as if you had a readied action for this purpose. Also, I'm a tad confused abou the fate of the grappled Balor, it didn't escape, right? |
| Demonfey10-24-05, 11:55 PM | NOAH is collossal. And, most of it is currently uner the ground by the way, so it has cover. Also worth noting that the tentacle that came out became corporeal. Does lower Spell Resistance allow spell resistance? Better yet, What book is it in? Save is 44 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173027) I know, but with my suspicion about NOAH (that being he's pseudonatural, whether epic or nonepic, I don't know), and that his transformation was into the tentacle form, which would be bad to pull up right now. |
| Demonfey10-24-05, 11:57 PM | The balor is trapped, unless it succeeds its concentration check (actually has points in it) to use its spell like ability to escape by teleporting. Since the creature is possessing the ground, the tentacle is a good target (and lets me see if I can hit it at all. |
| Von Crown10-25-05, 12:00 AM | AC is 46 without cover, so 50 with. Regardless, the natural 20 hits. I always forget what happens if you exactly meet the AC on an attack roll... By the way, On checking to be safe, I found Balor's aren't immune to disease as I thought before, so roll a fort save. |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 12:05 AM | Hits. Time stop from dragon? |
| Von Crown10-25-05, 12:07 AM | Would you be casting it in a threatened square? Also, remeber to have grappled Balor save for disease. |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 12:13 AM | It was right behind you, so...probably? I'll just roll for concentration now, then... Also, you hit the balor for the damage. Roll for concentration: 16+31=47 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173034) Using stats from the back of the draconomicon, except for spells Fortitude: 24 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173036) Before I forget: Damage from klurichirr:22 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173040) |
| Von Crown10-25-05, 12:21 AM | Attack Roll- 37 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173037) Damage (On Balor)- 18 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173039) The Balor got Warp Touch, with a 1d100=94 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173041) That's the nasty-smelling pustules, 5 ft. radius stench, DC 15 fort save or take -2 morale penalty to attacks, saves, and checks for 10 rounds. 1d20+39=41 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173042) For NOAH's save vs. the stench, btw. |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 12:24 AM | That's great. I can't believe he has to make a save against something he did himself. Fun fact about reds: they have AC 41. |
| Von Crown10-25-05, 12:26 AM | I know, that's why I did't put damage for that. That was damage to the Balor from the attack that triggered the Improved grab that I forgot to roll. |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 12:27 AM | Oh, that was damage to the balor. Okay. Also, I do believe that means time stop just happened. |
| Von Crown10-25-05, 12:27 AM | I know. Go for it. Also, one quick thing- The Klurichir's axe bites into the tentacle, but the wound seems to be healing already. It's Regeneration! DUN DUN DUN! [/randomretardation] |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 12:38 AM | Round 1: wish to know every weakness and strength of NOAH. Round 2: lower spell resistance Round 3: Wish: imprison possessor :D Round 4: Wish: impotent possessor Round 5: True strike (in case the wish doesn't take effect) I just noticed something I had never spotted about lower spell resistance before: "The target of the spell takes a penalty on its saving throw equal to your caster level." Draconomicon, P 114, second paragraph of the spell, which is 4th level. I sh*t you not. Save: 10+19+8=37 |
| Wilds10-25-05, 01:03 AM | I just noticed something I had never spotted about lower spell resistance before: "The target of the spell takes a penalty on its saving throw equal to your caster level." Draconomicon, P 114, second paragraph of the spell, which is 4th level. I sh*t you not. one of the best parts of that book :D |
| Von Crown10-25-05, 01:38 AM | Wish results being PMed after this. 1d20+39=43 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=173078) for save vs. Lower Spell Resistance. Imprison and Impotent possessor fail due to lack of suitable target. True Strike... happens. |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 01:40 AM | Oh, the tentacle...that would keep a creature possessing anything from having those spells work, wouldn't it...damn. It was a good try though, right? Also, that save doesn't account for the new information I just checked on with jagggar and wilds with. Apparently, subtract 19 from that. |
| Von Crown10-25-05, 01:49 AM | 24 then. DC=37, correct? |
| Demonfey10-25-05, 01:50 AM | Yup. NOAH just lost another 15 SR (unless that would bring him below 0, of course, which it doesn't seem like it would.) One more round of this, and then I have to get some sleep, is that okay with you? |
| Von Crown10-30-05, 07:26 AM | Sorry for being out for so long. Been busy getting a group with two new players together. Anyways- The tendril withdraws again into the ground. Moments later, a massive pillar of darkness shoots up, taking a vaguely humanoid form. Six arms emerge, and it's four eyes glare out at you. It moves with all six arms operating independantly from the others, several chants merging into one bizzare flow that sounds utterly alien in origin. As the effects bagin to take hold, you feel your magic enhancements fading, and a thick fog seeps out around him out to about 20 feet. The inner ten feet, however, seems to exude a palpable menace. Changed form again, takes 1d6=5 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176456) damage for being chucked out of ground uses special ability to use six spell levels of invocations at once (see spellweaver, MM2) for a voracious dispelling (targeted) on Crowley, dispell check results of- Half-Fiend spell (that's from a spell, correct?)- 1d20+10=24 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176457) Giant Size- 1d20+10=29 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176458) chain shirt- 1d20+10=16 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176459) ring of cold immunity-1d20+10=22 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176460) your sword-1d20+10=30 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176461) whatever is increasing your strength (if applicable)-1d20+10=24 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176462) whatever is increasing your intelligence (if applicable)-1d20+10=27 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176463) whatever is increasing your wisdom (if applicable)-1d20+10=28 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=176464) Anything I need more rolls for, let me know. Also, let me know what is dispelled, and since it's voracious dispelling, you take 1 point per spell level of active effects dispelled. It also used Breath of the Night and Miasmic Cloud. Also, once you've confirmed everything, don't take your turn yet. Got a bit more to do, but I need to know how this works out. |
| Demonfey10-30-05, 01:35 PM | I've never heard of a spellweaver warlock. Interesting idea. Anyway, lets see...dispel check is 11+spell's caster level, for casting spells, technically Crowley's caster level twenty five total with the spell power (which I always try to use), so checks are 36. Even without that, its still 31. Oh, so sorry, better luck next time. Also, very nice choice in creature. :P What happens to the balor that was being grappled? And wouldn't there be AoO to be had? |
| Von Crown10-30-05, 04:39 PM | But what caster level are the items at? Anyways, I know enought to keep going. There is a sudden' flash' of darkness, and Madelia appears on the ground a little ways off. A large pair of feathered wings sprouts from her back, and she flies up near Crowley's head. "We're here to help." She incants a spell, motioning while she maintains her location. As she casts, a sphere of nothingness begins to form near her, hovering in place. | Demonfey10-30-05, 04:45 PM | Hey. So, should I just step back and let you keep smacking it? Let's see...can't cast cold spells, plan was to convert stuff into acid, waiting for your response on it. Dismisses all summons except klurichirr (it's the only one with a sample) Klurichirr moves away and takes flight, where it will (eventually) reach where Crowley is. Right now, I'm at a meal hall at my college, waiting for full dinner service to begin. I'll get back to you on items. Also, forgot to take the sword off, and the ring is an item in the EPH, so that probably makes its save since its epic. Increased abilities are mostly items, in the intelligence's case, a tome (+5 inherent) and a headband (+5 mag.), and boosts from levels. I'll have to look at that with my books and remember to make the intelligence legal. |
| Von Crown10-30-05, 04:50 PM | I really don't think it much matters at this point. It only has like 70 hp left, plus it'll regenerate 40 on it's turn. "It would help if you weakened it's resistances further, actually." Please? So I can stop rolling for SR? It's down to 12 as it is, so another casting would eliminate it. |
| Demonfey10-30-05, 04:55 PM | Okay. One LSR, coming up You know the drill. |
| Master_of_Flames10-30-05, 05:08 PM | Would it be too late to bring in my sorc20/fire savant10/archamge 5? (I did some re-editing on him :D |

| Master_of_Flames10-30-05, 05:18 PM | Taiat (my character's true name, and elven for fox flame) appeared in a burst of flames, a pipe in his mouth. Damnit. I'm too late. Knew I shouldn't have stopped by Joramy to see who can turn the most continents into slag... He said looking around. |
| Von Crown10-30-05, 05:23 PM | Meanwhile, in the alternate reality- "Well, here's everything you should need to know to teleport to the one you seek. Small Uncle hands you several sheets of parchment with detailed enough information to teleport. |

Who exactly are you handing the vial of Guerney's hair to? In alternate reality- You see what is most definatley Mordred's body. | thasis11-17-05, 03:18 PM | Here's a little thing I felt like doing. Probally the last post I'll make untill monday or wednesday. A young scholar comes running into the chambers of the Blackstar Syndicate "Sir sir! I've found something you might be intressted in. I found a scrap of paper written by Thasis the Evil. It seems to be from a diary that he once had. Unfournetly I don't have hte whole thing, just this page, but I could go find some more". The young man quickly puts the peice of paper on a table and runs down to the basement once again. Diary Entry #43: When the Scum Rise I’m pretty sure it was the Year of the Flying Dolphin. I can’t remember though. It was some time ago. Whatever the case, I decided to take it upon myself to directly meet with the rumored necromancer DrZearen. DrZearen was one of those people you’ll never find in history books, stories (other then this one), or in any recorded event. The only place you might ever hear of him is from this tale or from a wandering madman who by chance survived his brutal experiments. I should probably provide a bit of information about DrZearen. DrZearen is a small little goblin. He doesn’t really have any doctoring experience. The only real reason there is a “Dr” before his name is because nobody has ever felt the real nitpicking need to take the title up with him, and then come back from the conversation alive. DrZearen is a small time necromancer who I by chance heard off. I heard about him from a man I captured. I was testing out a new torture technique on him. I guess he thought I was hired by DrZearen to get information from him. He started rambling on about not knowing anything and to tell DrZearen that. Well I got what information I could from him before the final killing of him. What really got me interested in him was a new type of undead he designed. He called it the Dread Zombie. It was a more advanced version of the typical zombie. It had the ability to contaminate foes with a zombie-turning virus and animalistic intelligence. It was also much quicker and feral then a typical zombie. They acted like predators, crouching in bushes and jumping on there pray. The concept of a new type of potent ional minion intrigued me, so I decided to go find this DrZearen fellow. Over a matter of three weeks I tracked down his whereabouts and how to get past any traps he may have laid. I got to him and he realized that I was much stronger then he was. He panicked, but luckily I calmed him down. I had no intention of killing him. Not at the moment however. The meeting was rather successful. It lasted for a while of just casual talk about his work and a little talk about common necromancy practices. By the end of the meeting I coxed out the full creation process of the Dread Zombie. I felt it was rather successful. I walked away from that encounter a very happy Skygge. Dread Zombie Medium Undead Hit Dice: 7d12 (45 HP) Initiative: +8 (Improved Iniative) Speed: 30ft Armour Class: 19 (+4 Dex, +5 Natural) Base Attack/Grapple: +3/+9 Attacks: Bite +9 melee (1d8+6) Full Attack: Bite +9 melee (1d8+6) Space/Reach: 5ft/5ft Special Attacks: Contamination Special Qualities: DR5/slashing, Head Vulnerability, Fast Healing 20, Turn Resistance 2 Saves: Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +6 Abilities: Str 22, Dex 19, Con -, Int 2, Wis 12, Cha 12 Skills: Climb +16 : Combat Reflexes, Improved Iniative, and Power Attack Environment: Any Land or Underground Organization: Solitary, Pair, Pack (3-15) Challenge Rating: 7 Treasure: - Alignment: Always Neutral Advancement: - Level Adjustment: - Standing in front of you is a tall person. His skin is a sickly greenish-gray sort of color. He looks at you with a vicious hungry stare on his face. One side of his face is rotted off and covered in blood. He seems to have an arrow sticking from his side. He lunges at you with a single quick motion. Dread Zombies are zombies originally created by the late DrZearen. They were created as faster, deadlier, and more animalistic zombies. The experiment went well until DrZearen lost his control over them and they devoured him. Dread Zombies have only one apparent weakness, and that a blow to there head. They are also more vulnerable to slashing weapons. Dread Zombies are resistant to turning and rebuking attempts for an unknown reason. Dread Zombies stand anywhere from 5’6-6’2 and weigh anywhere from 100lb-150lb. They do not speak any languages nor understand any. Combat Dread Zombies try to get a successful bite in on their enemies as quickly as possible, as to spread their contamination effect. They viciously attack there opponent until either the opponents defeat or the zombies destruction. Contamination[/B]: Any creature successfully hit with the Dread Zombie’s bite attack must make fortitude save (DC14) or contract the virus. If the opponent fails the save he takes 1d4 temporary constitution damage. Within one hour of the contracting the virus the victim must make another fortitude save. If he fails he instantly dies and turns into a Dread Zombie. Head Vulnerability: If struck in the head a Dread Zombie cannot regenerate the damage as per his regeneration ability. Also the Dread Zombies DR does not apply when being stricken on its head. To strike a creature specifically in the head, you must take a -4 penalty to your attack. Creation Any spellcaster who can case Create Greater Undead can attempt to create a Dread Zombie. He must be at a caster level of 17th or higher to create a Dread Zombie. |
| Von Crown11-17-05, 05:31 PM | Very cool. The one teensy problem I have is undead with regeneration. Namely, their immunity to nonlethal damage. Overall, I'd say make it fast heaing, andamassive amount, like 20 or so. Also note that damage from blows to the head should be tracked seperatly and are not subject to fast healing. Then I'd outline what is necessary to aim for the head, like a penalty to attack rolls or something. Undead with regeneration are too nasty. I once fought an imp lich with class levels that gave it immunity to acid damage, so it had regeneration that was only bypassed by holy weapons, something I generally don't carry with me. I retreated, then deeloped an Epic Spell specifically to kill things with regeneration. Namely, Reverse Regeneration. Also, this reminds me of an undead template I'vebeen meaning to make for a while now. It's something from Norse mythology, actually. |
| thasis11-21-05, 04:40 PM | Well I don't have realy any time to post realy so all I can do for today is make the change. I have a couple more diary entries made over the weekand. I have a bunch more ideas to so I'm hoping to post one once or twice a week. |
| Von Crown11-21-05, 05:57 PM | Forgot to change the DR reference in head vulnerability And again, are there rules for targeting body parts? I don't recall seeing any, but that may just be me. I'd say at least a -4 penalty on attack rolls, but probably a lot more. You also might wanna say that if an attck would normally be a critical hitifit wasn't immune, there's 25% or so chance that it hits the head. |
| Von Crown11-22-05, 06:53 PM | Also, Thasis's method of presenting the flavor text for that has inspired me, so here's something of mine. Day 1- We've only just arrived at the house today, and already several of my companions are seriously considering abandoning our search. On the path though the forest on the way here, we had a diffucult time through the heavy overgrowth covering the path, and at one point were attacked by a strange plantlike creature that exuded a very sweet aroma. It almost ate Dunbar, but Eranne managed to lull the thing to sleep when she played a song to help us. We're camped out on the front grounds right now, and if we don't turn back we'll head inside tomorrow. I'll write again later, Eranne is about to play my favorite song. Redbud Large Plant Hit Dice: 8d8+24 (56 HP) Initiative: +0 Speed: 0' Armor Class: 21 (-1 size, +0 Dex, +12 Natural) Base Attack/Grapple: +6/+16 Attacks: Vine +11 ranged (1d8+6 plus drag) or bite +6 melee (1d12+9 plus poison) Full Attack: 4 Vines +11 ranged (1d8+6 plus drag), bite +6 melee (1d12+9 plus poison) Space/Reach: 10'/10' (60' with vine) Special Attacks: Drag, vines, improved grab, swallow whole, poison, poison mist, territory manipulation, rebuke/command will 'o wisps Special Qualities: Close, aroma, song weakness, vulnerability to fire and sonic, immunity to acid, fast healing 15, blindsight 120', tremorsense 1 mile Saves: Fort +9, Ref +2, Will +2 Abilities: Str 22, Dex 10, Con 16, Int -, Wis 10, Cha 18 Skills: - Feats: - Environment: Any Forest (Always found near rarely traveled roads) Organization: Solitary Challenge Rating: ? Treasure: - Alignment: Always Neutral Advancement: (Special, see below) 8-12 HD (Large), 13-16 HD (Huge), 17-20 HD (Gargantuan), 21-24 HD (Colossal), 25+ HD (Colossal +) Level Adjustment: - You see a plant bud approximately ten feet tall. Itbends toward you on it's stalk, and opens into a massive brightred flower rimmed with jagged thorns along the edge of the petals. It lashes out at you with viny tendrils that spring from beneath the underbrush. In the center of the flower is a large yellow eye. Combat When it notices a creature with it's tremorsense, a Redbud uses it's Territory Manipulation in an attempt to drive potential victims toward it. In an open confontation, Redbuds try to drag a victim into the reach of it's bite attack, then attempts to swallow it's victim. Drag (Ex): If a redbud hits with a vine attack, the vine latches onto the opponent’s body. This deals the listed damage and also drags the stuck opponent 10 feet closer each subsequent round (provoking no attack of opportunity) unless that creature breaks free, which requires a DC 24 Escape Artist check or a DC 20 Strength check. The check DCs are Strength-based, and the Escape Artist DC includes a +4 racial bonus. A redbud can draw in a creature within 10 feet of itself and bite with a +4 attack bonus in the same round. A vine has 10 hit points and can be attacked by making a successful sunder attempt. However, attacking a redbud’s vine does not provoke an attack of opportunity. If the vine is currently attached to a target, the redbud takes a -4 penalty on its opposed attack roll to resist the sunder attempt. Severing a vine deals no damage to a redbud. Vines (Ex): A redbud offsets it's lack of manuverability by it's ability to drag it's prey to it with stong vines. The creature can have up to four vines at once, and they can strike up to 60 feet away (no range increment). If a vine is severed, the redbud can extrude a new one on its next turn as a free action. Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a redbud must hit with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can attempt to swallow the foe the following round. Swallow Whole (Ex): A redbud can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of a smaller size than itself by making a successful grapple check. Once inside, the opponent takes 1d12+9 points of crushing and slashing damage plus 8d2 points of acid damage per round from the flower's digestive system. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by using a light slashing or piercing weapon to deal 25 points of damage to the flower (AC 17). Once the creature exits, the creature's healing closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out. A Large flower’s interior can hold 1 Medium, 2 Small, 4 Tiny, or 8 Diminutive or smaller opponents. Also, if it makes a bite attack while it has one or more creatures swallowed, each swallowed creature may make a grapple or escape artist check as if to escape the flower's improved grab ability. If the check is successful, the creature escapes as if it had cut it's way out. Poison (Ex): Injury or Inhaled (see poison mist, below), Fortitude DC 17, initial damage 1d4 Str, secondary damage 1d6 Str plus paralysis for 1d8 rounds. The save DC is Constitution-based. Poison Mist (Ex): As a standard action once every 1d4 rounds, a redbud may spray a toxic mist in either a 15' radius spread centered on itself, or a 40' long cone. Anyone within the selected area must make a reflex save (DC 20) or be exposed to the inhaled form of theredbud's poison (see above). This ability is treated as a breath weapon for the purpose of all abilities that affect breath weapons. the reflex save to avoid inhaling the poison is strength-based, but the DC to resist the poison remains the same. Territory Manipulation (Su): A redbud can manipulate the environment within a long distance of itself, as the creature's roots connect with those of all plants within 1 mile of it, granting the plants a limited ability to act. This ability has two uses. First, the redbud may, as a move action, cause up to a 40' radius burst of plants (the effect can be shaped as the creature wishes within the bounds of the 40' radius) within 1 mile to actively hinder movement. This functions exactly as an entangle spell, except for the increased range and shapable area of effect mentioned above. Second, it can produce a ghost sound effect originating from any point within 1 mile as a free action once per round. The caster level for both of these uses is equal to the creature's hit dice. Rebuke/Command Will 'O Wisps (Su): A redbud can rebuke or command Will 'O Wisps as a clerico it's hit dice rebukes or commands undead. Close (Ex): When the redbud swallows a creature with it's swallow whole ability, or at the creature's option, it closes. While the flower is closed, it gains an additional +6 natural armor, but takes a -6 penalty on bite attacks. Closeing when not swallowing a creature or opening at any point requires a move action. It can still use it's improved grab and swallow whole abilities while closed, but the initial bite attack required may allow one or more creatures to escape (see above). Aroma (Su): A redbud exudes a strong, distinctive sweet odor out to a range equal to one half the range of the creature's tremorsense (usually half a mile). This odor is fairly recognizeable, and a creature that has encountered a redbud before may make an immediate DC 15 wisdom check to recognize it (if the creature has encountered redbuds more than once, it gains a +2 competence bonus on the check for everyredbud encounter beyond the first). A creature that succeeds on this check gains a +2 competence bonus on the subsequent saving throw, and knows what the smell is. This smell has the effect of a sympathy spell, except that it functions out to the range mentioned above and affects all creatures not immune, not just one specific type or alignment. The saving throw is Charisma-based. Song Weakness (Ex): A redbud is unusually soothed by well-played music of any kind. Anytime a creature within the range of a redbud's tremorsense uses a bardic music or other similar ability or makes a perform check that beats at least DC 15, the redbud is soothed into a dormant state for 3 hours (treat as dazed).During this time, however, the creature's metabolic rate increases, and it's fast healing doubles and becomes regeneration bypassed only by fire or sonic damage. A normal redbud is not allowed a saving throw to resist this effect, but one that has attained intelligence through advancement (see below) may choose to attempt a saving throw if it desires. The DC is equal to 10 + 1/2 the creature playing's hit dice + the creature playing's Charisma modifier. Advancement and Lifecycle As a redbud continues to age, it continues to grow. It willcontinue to grow until slain, or until there are no other planys within range of it's tremorsense, in which case it withers and dies over the course of 1d2 days per HD it posseses. It gains HD at a rate of one a year, at which time it spits forth a cloud of cottony seeds, which obscure vision as a fog cloud spell within 20feet of the creature until a wind traveling at at least 3 miles per hour disperses them. Within 2d6 months, 1d4 new redbuds have grown to normal size wherever the wind has blown them, as long as there is other plant ife for it to feed on within range. As it grows, a redbud's network of roots continues to grow, increasing the range of it's tremorsense (and other abilities with the same range) by an additional mile (or half, in the case of it's aroma) every time it's size category increases. A increases one ability score at every even-numbered HD it gains. In addition, a redbud that grows to at least 16 HD gains an intelligence score of 10 (which it can increase as normal), as well as skill points and feats as a plant of it's HD. A redbud that gains intelligence gains XP as normal and can take class levels, though it dice gained through class levels do not increase it's size or other racial ablities, and it gains ability score increases from class levels at the normal rate. In addition, a redbud with at least 18 HD gains the ability to cast spells as a sorceror of a level equal to one half it's HD. However, it's spells known are drawn from the druid spell list, rather than the sorceror/wizard spell list. A redbud with at least 20 HD can choose to cast a spell through a controlled Will 'O Wisp. This is a full-round action for the plant, and the spell takes effect as if the Will O' Wisp were the caster for all purposes except spell slot expenditure, save DC, and caster level. It can cast any spells it can cast through a controlled Will 'O Wisp, not just those from it's racial spellcasting. |

| Master_of_Flames11-25-05, 11:44 PM | Does the balckstar syndicate have a creation forge? I'm going to be tampering around and try to improve the warforged. Perhaps a psionic or eldritch version... |
| Demonfey11-25-05, 11:47 PM | Well, we could... |
| Von Crown11-26-05, 01:38 PM | There is already a psionic warforged in Magic of Eberron. Mordred's planning on invading one instance of Eberron soon, and one of my goals was totry to secure one or more creation forges. I'll bring one here when I do (Not for IGFW, of course). Any suggestions for good base locations? I plan on using fuse sand to build it, and I was thinking about having a base in the middle of the ocean, but that opens up the whole ocean as a possibility. Perhaps near my first target, Thrane? Or that place with lots of pirates (can't remember what it's called)? |

| turalisj11-26-05, 04:10 PM | Could try the Talenta Plains.... |
| Von Crown11-27-05, 03:25 PM | All good suggestions... I've still got an interesting image stuck in my head of a demented sandcastle rising out of the ocean... probably near Lhazaar or Xen'drik. Wait, I think I've got it. I'll set up in the Thunder Sea, somewhere right near the equator. That'll put me in a prime location to dive for Siberys shards, and I won't be too far to travel to either Khorvaire or Xen'drik (Argonnessen willbe pretty close too). I'll have to be sure to fortify the base against Shard Storms, but I'll probably only need to worry about the parts I build above the water. Besides, giant sandcastle is cooler than mountain fort most of the time :D |
| turalisj11-27-05, 04:08 PM | Denrik will be glad to help. He was a xen'drik warforged who was trained to make sure the elves didn't try to rebel. He then was then taken under ownership of the drow. After being traded around a bit, he got tired of being used like some weapon of war and slaughtered and entire villiage of drow. After that, he hopped into a portal and landed in Tyranor. So he knows alot about Xen'drik. |
| Demonfey11-27-05, 09:13 PM | Wait, I thought you were talking about the guild house terrain. Also, would a demented sand castle in the middle of a desert (heat would dry out any "parts", lack of humidity would keep them from rotting) |
