The Campaign Builders' Guild [Archive] - Wizards Community

Ishmayl here, current Overlord of the Campaign Builders' Guild (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=559035). If you look at our WotC thread over in the Homebrew forums, you'll see that we're already pretty well established; but one can never have too many friends. Therefore, I'm starting an "official" Guild thread over here.

A bit of history for you: We started as just a bit of a coalition here on the site to help each other build campaigns and settings. There were so many people building campaigns, and there were hardly any people reviewing, criticizing, or even reading them. We expanded pretty quickly, and now have our own site and forums.

The purpose of this guild and these forums is to help with the creation of DM-created, homebrew campaigns. In an RPG market where there are literally hundreds of published worlds - some good, some not - it is difficult for DMs to choose a campaign. Often times, they will begin work on their own campaign, sometimes inspired by nothing more than the memory from younger days. This Guild is to help mold the ideas and shape the themes that inspire the creation of wonderful campaigns to play D&D in.

There are forums devoted for your campaign, as well as separate forums devoted to non-campaign specific crunch, writing and fine arts, as well as your typical "goof off here" forums. We have a free wiki hosted for you to post your campaign in wiki format, and we also have free html hosting for those of you who know a bit about web page design and would like to make a real page for your campaign. We're also currently working on the 4th issue of the "Campaign Builder's Guide," a self-promoted e-zine where we put together some of the best ideas from the site in a nice, pretty pdf format, and deliver it all over the net. We also have an April Contest going on, with three places and prizes available.

In general, there are plenty of things to do, and plenty of sources for you to get aid on creating and developing a campaign setting or entire world. So feel free to come on over and join us. You'll find a great group of people ready to help.
