A pure-blooded vampire steps out of the shadows and is illuminated by one of the few torches preventing the streets of the village from becoming complete darkness. He looks around, waiting for his next meal.

Welcome all creatures of the night! This foundation is not only for vampires, put for all creatures who call the night home or evil and death their path of life . . . or maybe both. We of the Creatures of the Night Foundation want to promote the power of those who live in the shadows and those forced into the shadows by society.

You can post your new creations (classes/races/feats/skills) here as long as they pertain to the foundation. Also, you don't have to be in this foundation to post. And remember, roleplaying is in red so that it does not cause any confusion.

If you want to join, just post that you want to.

The vampire looks up from his fresh kill and waits for his brethren of the night to appear.

I will join. I love Vampires and Undead. Vampires are on my favorite creature list. I created this Prc that is a Vampire Prc that is based of this cult of Vampires and Undead (mainly Vampires though) that feel that undead are the supremecy and that all creatures should be non-living. There goal is to turn every living creature on the material plane into Undead. Once I dig it up out of my collection of Prc's I've designed I'll post it. I'm actualy thinking of putting it in a book I'm designing called the Book of Corruption.

I prefer undead that are not necessarily restricted to darkness. Lichdom, in particular, is one of my favourites (though any sort of transformation into purely skeletal form where one retains one's mental abilities and sense of self is also awesome).

There was a Ravenloft adventure in 2nd Ed called Grim Harvest: Requiem as I recall where the entire party gets turned into undead.

So this is the member's list so far:

1. Masamune
2. thasis
3. Ouroboros
4. Tenzhi

I would also have to aggree that Lichdom is pretty cool, especially for the "savage" races like Dragons. I once played as a dragon lich and I just slaughtered everything in my path.

Just when I think everyone knows... ;)

Tenzhi doesn't actually *join* foundations. He may contribute from time to time, but actually joining is anathema to his very being.

Maybe I should put that in my sig...

here's my basic view on the Lich vs Vamp argument:

Vampire
Pros: Super Strength, can change forms, can create minions, can summon different animals, gains giant ability bonuses, fast healing, and can only die by certain methods.
Cons: LOTS of methods of killing a vamp, vamps have to suck blood constantly, vamps can't go out in the sun (unless playing by Bram Stoker's rules), no new cool magical abilities, can't cross running water (unless you play according to Bram Stoker), and can't enter someone's home uninvited.

Lich
Pros: A hell of a lot of cool new magical abilities and spells, can't die unless its phylacery is destroyed, can go out at any time of the day, and has a fear aura.
Cons: Can be stuck in its phylacery forever if there is not another body to possess, doesn't gain any bonuses to its combat fighting, and easy to spot if in public.

I feel that by far, the vampire is way better than the lich.

I don't no wnat kind of vampire i like more:

Oriental: Paragon (vampire that carries it's internals with her) and day time it is a old man or woman but at knight it leaves it's body where it's head, spine and internals hunt for blood.

Or the african vampire that has no skin it loses blood al the time so it takes skins and blood :b:

I'm thinking that there should be Prc's that lower the vampires weaknesses and increase there strengths.

Hey... is that some sort of mockery of the green and wondrous one? Orcy is mad... yes... mad indeed....

Anywho, Personally.... Orcy likes the Vampire Lord. They're nasty... and very fun to watch players scream like little girls about... yes... ooooh yes.

Lich vs. Vampire addendum:

Vampires prey on the living and are therefore more likely to get hunted down than Liches, who generally keep to themselves in a remote location.

but many evil spellcaster die (really) when they try to turn into a Lich:b: a few killed liches are a bigger problem for the (race) then for vampires.

As "lich" isn't really a race (nor are they particularly interested in the propogation of their kind), that's not really a problem.

If you look at it, a lich is actually a modified version of the race the creature was before it. For example, you have dracoliches and liches from human or even orcish descent. The same can be said for vampires. All they are are modified versions of their previous races...dragon vamps (found in the Draconomicon) and any other type of vamp.

The pure-blooded vamp looks around anxiously, wanting to test out his new killing technique on a hapless victim.

Right. Since nothing has gone on for a while, I'm going to start a new debat that will run off of the last one.

Which is better:
Vampires or Lycanthropes.

Er, yeah - that's kind of the point. Liches aren't a race unto themselves. A person chooses to become a lich. And a lich doesn't spawn progeny or require sustenance.

The same can be said for vampires.

Vampires are different. One doesn't generally choose to become a vampire. And on top of that, vampires are driven to feed and, by association, spawn more vampires. This procreative drive - unnatural though it may be - makes vampire-kind a "race" for the purposes of my previous reply.

Better by what gauge? Lycanthropes aren't driven to feed on people, nor are they necessarily evil. They often posess a great deal of physical power. And really, a were-bear is more impressive-looking than a vampire.

But vampires do have the edge of immortality.

A creature slithers up to the group.
Any use for an Igor? I figure that since most of my employers have been...undead or children of the night, you could have a use of an Igor.
NOTE: This is my way of honoring the Igors of the Discworld series.

DONT put me in, i'm just passing trough.
Liches are better than Vamps. It's often easy to kill a vamp, or to pportect oneself from it. But liches are completely imortal, unless you find his phylactery, wich is hard.

Also Hey, I read discoworld series, and never heard of an igor. Where he (or it) appears?

Carpe Jugulum, Thief of Time, Fifth Elephant, Going Postal, Night Watch, The Truth, Monstrous Regiment, and maybe a few more that elude memory right now. They even have a job distribution company, called Igors R Us.
