This foundation is for all beings of the (fire) subtype: Azer, Red Dragons, Salamanders, even Efreet... plus any creature that appears on a Red card in Magic:)

Also welcome are anyone else who wants to join.

The aim is to discuss how fire creartures work, invent new fire creatures, interact with other foundations and generally enjoy ourselves. Both IC and OOC discussion is encouraged.

The aim is not to engage in flame wars. This is a Fire foundation, not the other thing.

Current members

Azer Firelord
Silmar Aldalome.

P.S, do let me know if I forgot something important, Silmar-Gm-ien.

Hi there Azer - I'm happy to contribute here.

I want to discuss ideas about how to progress the Foundation. If you want long-life - to

Sil-Spock-ian: ....live long and prosper...

You'll need to be creative and resilient.

Questions:

1. Do you want IC & "stupid" stuff - i.e. fun-less serious.
2. More serious discussion.
3. Mixed

Tomorrow I am going home for 6 days. This is good news in a way- I love my home and family and it means I won't be trying to do all the cooking! However, it also means that I won't be spending much time here on the boards, because my internet acess is more restricted there. So, if you post something and I don't answer, don't worry...

Gold Dragon!

Hi there Ouroborus.

I'd like to hava look at items, artifacts and magic that work only with those beings - or that impart the Elemental powers to normal mortals.

What is the source of power for the Elemental Plane of Fire? How does this plane intersect with our own?

Fire there is no fuel or air to feed on. The only explanation would be that the flames feed on each other. But that doesn't mean flammables that are broth into the plane of fire aren't consumed at once.

Your own Sil, Azer Firelord lives here

The Elemental plane of Fire is a Inner Plane.

Inner Planes are unique separated planes floating like islands on the Astral Plane.
Inner Planes are not coterminous to each other but can be accessed with the help of a gate spell (or a other spell with plane shifting means)
The limited access keeps the inner planes pure.

So the reach the Elemental Plane of Fire you have to use the Astral Plane to get there.

There is a other way there is a road from the Material Plane to the Plane of Fire.
The heart of a volcano often contains a vortex between the 2 planes

...a woman robed in thick folds of Silver and Blue enters the Halls. She bows low to Ouroborus. Her robes bear exquisite mithril arane symbols on the hems and at the sleeve's extremes. She radiates a potent aura of magic, unlike any you're seen. Her magical signature hints at a Combination of Song and somehow recalls Starlight as you listen to her melodic intonations.

She looks at *you* - whoever you are and says "Fire is a symbol of both creation and destruction. And it can be used for either purpose. I see that you have come to learn about the Secrets of Fire. But ward! If you come with malign motive - burning pain will be your reward. But if you come to see the Fire of Creation - and you are Awed by it for its beauty, serenity, potency and vigor - thence your Lore will propel you in all things.

Speak more of your Fire Lore"

I.e. Hi there! Welcome and thank you. Do you want to elaborate a bit on your Fire Lore...?

Cheers

Fire is important. It keeps you warm when it is cold. And we know how much fire creatures like cold.
Says a figure obscured by the smoke that surrounds him.

A very interesting class, in relation to fire, is the XPH PrC pyrokineticist.

Over at the psionics board there's a discussion on how far fire resistance would protect you against heat, in the sense of environmental heat.

This discussion is here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?threadid=255256)

Edit: Oh and i will join this Foundation.

They watched the structure burn. Even outside the heat was intense, but than he saw something through the flames. It seemed like a person, but no one could life long in those flames. The creature however seemd unaffacted

A creature with the fire subtype wouldn't even think about flames or heat. Fire, that normaly consumed everything, can't touch the creature.

I think intelligent fire creatures would use this to their advantage.
Important sections of their buildings/dungeons could be only accesable through burning corridors or something like that.

The first time he entered these halls they were filled with blazing fires. Now it seems there are only a few smoldering embers left. The hall looks deserted.
Ouroboros

06-23-04, 12:02 PM
It isn't deserted we are only waiting for the foundation leader to return
De Batavier

06-23-04, 12:52 PM
While reflecting on the diminished fires, he suddenly hears a voice behind him. After recovering from this scare, he nods. "Yes we're waiting for the founder of these halls, but we should not abaddon these halls in his absence. We should rebuilt the fires." And he starts with the main forge. He throws some of the strange black stones in the smoldering fire.

The fire in the elemental plane feed on themselves don't worry :)
What I don't understand is why are there half-elementals most flesh creatures can't survive a fire/flesh mating
De Batavier

06-26-04, 09:09 AM
Fire will burn hotter this way. I don't like cold, i like it hot

Flesh and fire together would become smelly quick.
But if you bring protection to your love encounter, protection against FIRE that is, maybe it is feasable

:r:
Ouroboros

06-26-04, 12:08 PM
That may be but I think there are as many half fire elementals as half-water elmentals.
De Batavier

06-26-04, 05:46 PM
Water elementals, where? Such abominations must be eredicated. I will change them in steaming pools and use them for my central heating system
De Batavier

The fires roar once again. Unbearable heat fills the building. Unbearable for other beinings than the ones who walk these halls. They feel at home in the heat and by being surrounded by blazing fires. Ash-rats surround a single person sitting between them. Once in a while he throws strange black rocks into a fire, and laughs at the sudden increase of it's intensity.

Question: How many gods call the elemetal plane of fire there home?
De Batavier

07-04-04, 08:11 AM
Don't realy know. But a god of fire would be a likely choice as chief resident.
