Zetz replied by saying "Youz thinkz ay, watch this". Zertz pulled out a old crudly made staff and shouted a single word in goblin. THe elf disinigrated into nothing but dust. "Foulish elfz, tinkz theyz can hutz me. Evenz if hez couldz seven more would replaze mez" Goblins. A creature that breedz fast. There more powerful then any speciez alive. If all the goblin tribze would ally themselfz together they could rule the world. I devoloping this thread for people such as meez who thing goblins rock. | Ouroboros05-29-04, 11:38 AM | Hope this helps it is from a question i asked. At the Deities and Demigods. Originally posted by Filby You can find more about the goblin pantheon in 'Monster Mythology'. To sum up... Maglubiyet The Mighty One, the Lord of the Depths and Darkness, Fire-Eyes Greater Deity Symbol: Bloody axe Home Plane: Acheron (Nine Hells in 1st edition) Alignment: Neutral evil (was lawful evil in 1st and 2nd edition) Portfolio: Goblins, hobgoblins, war, rulership Cleric Alignments: LE, NE, CE Domains: Destruction, Evil, Trickery Favored Weapon: Battleaxe Maglubiyet is the head of the goblin/hobgoblin pantheon, over which he rules with an iron fist. In 1E he was listed as living in the Nine Hells, but in 2E in Planescape it's noted that he and Gruumsh were forced to leave by Asmodeus, who had grown weary of their bickering. His realm on Acheron's first layer is Clangor, the goblin heaven, where they drill endlessly in preparation for the eternal war with Gruumsh. Maglubiyet looks like a giant goblin with black skin and hair, with eyes made of fire. Khurgorbaeyag The Overseer Lesser Deity Symbol: Red and yellow striped whip Home Plane: Acheron Alignment: Lawful evil Portfolio: Goblins, slavery, oppression, morale Cleric Alignments: LE, NE, CE Domains: Evil, Law, Protection Favored Weapon: Whip, bludgeoning weapons One of Maglubiyet's court, Khurgorbaeyag is the racial totem-god of the goblins. He and Nomog-Geaya are both rivals for Maglubiyet's attention, and both live in Clangor with him. Khurgorbaeyag is secretly trying to overthrow Maglubiyet, but unbeknownst to him Maglubiyet already knows and plays him against Nomog-Geaya to keep him occupied. He is also an ally of Hruggek, the bugbear god, who helped him once in a battle against the orc pantheon. Khurgorbaeyag looks like a tall, muscular goblin with flame-red skin flecked with orange and yellow scales. Nomog-Geaya The General Lesser Deity Symbol: Crossed broadsword and handaxe Home Plane: Acheron Alignment: Lawful evil Portfolio: Hobgoblins, war, authority Cleric Alignments: LN, LE, NE Domains: Evil, Law, Strength, War Favored Weapon: Nomog-Geaya is the racial totem-gods of the hobgoblins, and Maglubiyet's general. He and Khurgorbaeyag vie for Maglubiyet's attention, but unlike Khurgorbaeyag, Nomog-Geaya is content to remain in a subservient position to the Mighty One. He lives in Clangor with Maglubiyet. Nomog-Geaya appears as a huge hobgoblin with ash-gray skin, cold orange eyes, and shark-like teeth. Bargrivyek He Who Brings Together Lesser Deity Symbol: White-tipped flail Home Plane: Nine Hells Alignment: Neutral evil (lawful evil in 2nd edition) Portfolio: Cooperation, territory Cleric Alignments: LE, NE, CE Domains: Evil, Knowledge, Protection, Travel Favored Weapon: Any flail The only major goblin god not directly in Maglubiyet's service, Bargrivyek nonetheless scrambles to please the Mighty One whenever ordered to. Both Khurgorbaeyag hate him as a snivelling coward. He is a god of cooperation - not of cooperation with other races, but of cooperation between goblins so they may present a united force against them. His realm on the First Hell of Baator is called the Peaceable Lands, where goblin spirits drill for eternity in endless excercizes, and occasionally raid the realm of Kurtulmak, the kobold god, to show their strength. He looks like a tall, handsome goblin with a rounded forehead (like a human's), clad in white armor. Other gods may exist, but none over lesser god rank - Maglubiyet destroys any deity that might challenge him. BoVD notes that some goblins also worship the devil Mammon, the Lord of Greed, and that some hobgoblins worship Dispater, the Iron Duke. Hope that helps. :) |
| Azer Firelord05-29-04, 08:26 PM | Herewith, information on a goblin race from my homebrew: These guys even rule their own plane (via a theocracy( They have a silly name to distinguish them from MM goblins. The Goblinsks are specialists in unarmed combat and monastic discipline in the name of their God, Lord Yar. They are also incredibly arrogant towards other races- they have the attitude of the elves that they are the ruling class, but without the elven charm or sensitivity. Amazingly, this arrogance often persuades people to obey them, as they subconsciously accept the Goblinsk world view, at least for a few moments. Their stat adjustments are as follows: -2 Str, +2 Cha Indeterminate Size. The Goblinsks are considered either Small or Medium depending on which would be advantageous to them- i.e, they use medium endurance limits, but still get +1 Ac and +1 to hit. If monks, they use the medium size monk tables. Commanding Air: Goblinsks get a +2 bonus on any check which involves them ordering other races (not fellow-Goblinsks), around, including spells such as Command and Lesser Geas Arrogant tactlessness: Goblinsks get a -2 penalty on any check which involves them persuading or co-operating with other races, including spells such as Charm Person. Automatic Languages: Common, Goblinsk, Bonus Languages, Any Goblinoid, Buteo, Elven, Dwarven, Mermish Darkvison 60ft Favored Class: Monk. |
| Ouroboros05-30-04, 04:56 AM | But do the carry stuff as a medium or small pc ? |
| Azer Firelord05-30-04, 06:44 AM | Well, clearly as a Medium PC. That is the most advantageous...unless there's some special circumstance I've missed... |
| thasis05-30-04, 11:28 AM | I find your goblin variant quite intrestting. All the Goblins!!! |
| Ouroboros06-01-04, 03:14 PM | I don't no really if i like it, it smalls a little like power gaming. ;) But this could be becouse i did only see the stats and why are they monks if they don't have to be lawful? |
| Azer Firelord06-01-04, 03:28 PM | If they are monks they do have to be lawful. They only use the monk damage tables if they are monks-sorry that should be clearer, Now yes, they are stronger than normal Goblins. Which are CR 1/4 so hardly suitable as a player race if you want to keep up with the others. But, the -2 Str +2 Cha is horrible. The abilities are nice but balanced I feel- they don't get any skill bonuses, unlike most non-human races... And of course, outside that, they are hated and feared by the other races. |
| thasis06-01-04, 05:56 PM | Goblins feared. Ha! I like goblins but goblins being feared. Thats a little outrageous don't you think. |
| Azer Firelord06-01-04, 07:08 PM | Well, the goblinsks have conquered and enslaved every race on their home plane. They have ogres and trolls eating out of their hand (via command magic items). They are utterly arrogant and totally vindctive. And they look a bit like those pathetic primitives who live in tunnels near your home. I'd say they qualify as scary... ;) |
| thasis06-01-04, 07:39 PM | These are the types of goblins I like.:smirk: Some Prcs based around them would be nice. To bad I don't have enough Imagination that doesn't involve rape, torture, more rape, and more torture. I could make a Goblin Raper Prc but they would probally ban my guild to the Mature Section. I probally have a chance to be sent to the Mature section now by just saying the word rape. I better just shut up. |

But what would be better for game play? How  a legend is that - beings that no-one is quite sure of that inhabit the old ruins of ancient sites - or that are somehow connected to old ruins. Hmm - maybe some ancient sights are connected to "protective" spirits. Great spells cast on castles by their occupants when they were alive, to Hallow the sight. Hence, dwarves, pixies - or elves. But in terms of the Shadowy Side - either equally powerful Dark Citadels - where Shadow Stuff haunts the ruins - a conduit to the Demiplane of Shadows. Or malevolent spirits bent on displacing former owners - goblins - evil pixies, Shades..... |
| thasis10-10-04, 12:20 PM | Time to restart the Goblin Foundation in time for the Guild Wars. Rally are goblin swarms and prepare to crush are wayz to the topz. |
| thasis11-07-04, 12:01 PM | Is this guild permently dead or can we actualy do something? |
| Dyne11-07-04, 05:51 PM | There is a foundation that includes Goblins, Hobgoblins, Bugbears, Orcs, Trolls, and other Giants. It would probably be easier on the Goblins if they became part of that foundation. |
| thasis12-14-04, 09:54 PM | We have returned. Let us reck havoc on the Half-Elven Foundation!!! |
