The Guild House is a place where you form alliances, make enemies and battle with your allied forces against opposing teams. You have to work out which Guild to trust and which Guild to destroy. Or, if you prefer, you can create your own Guild and add a whole new layer of intrigue to The Guild House.

Basically, it's D&D, but modified sligthly, to accommodate larger numbers of players, in some instances.

Have a look at the URL list below. Or, PM me or post to the thread, and introduce yourself and we'll take it from there.

The Guild House Mythology

They came from nowhere as points of light in a Great Darkness. A sudden well spring of Voice where there were none before. And so they gathered together in the Great Void - for there was naught else that yet existed. In this way, they found solace and kinship with each other. Together they gathered and then saw that each of them was distinct and comprised of many aspects whose varied composition was a great tapestry in the Darkness. And each was glad, for company dispelled the Void and music was brought forth, and Thought with it.

This was the Place of No Time - the Eternity of The Void. And with that Thought - there was sudden discovery, Existence became. And the blending of many competing Voices that sprang to life - who each had something to say. For they had discovered that they were in a Formless and Structureless Place. The Void of No Place and No Time an Eternal Never Ending vastness of unimaginable proportions.

And they each came forth and blended Thought and Music into a Great Discovery. For, they learned how to order thought into distinct Aspects. There was marvel at this in the beginning as they strove to Make. But also from this came the Time of Strife. For so it was that in making thought - it became possible that thought could clash with thought - and the Twin Polar Opposites of the Cosmos were formed: This and That, Here and There, Up and Down, Wrong and Right, Black and White.

Some took one pole of thought - and they called it "good" and in so doing - they sheared off their Twin Polar Opposite - who others called "evil". And others found happiness in disorder and they named this Chaos. But Chaos brought Fear and so Law was crafted in response. Thence the Eyes of Chaos espied Threat from Law. And so it was that the Twin Polar Opposites became afraid of each other - each trying to dominate the other, and the Aspects strove towards Mastery.

But Lo! In all things as the Sisters of Opposites were born, the Lights gravitated in constellations of thought - and so was born Otherness. And even amidst the Strife, the Place of No Space and No Time was also beautiful. Comprised of an Infinity of Possibilities and ever changing formlessness.
Yet even as the Aspects conflicted, suddenly, Magical Power was created. By ordering thought - they also discovered that anything was possible. And each of them discovered a distinct kind of magic.

At first, the basic elements were formed - heat, light, gravity, magnetism and electricity. And they marvelled - for now Light could create Light - and the Void was filled.

Thus - the Stars were born. Stardust from Void. And Time and Space were sheared apart - so that they could bring Order to Disorder, Law from Chaos. But the Sisters of Chaos and Brothers of Evil were stirred to wrath and they devised ways of Ending and Scattering. For they sensed that without these things, The Void would be filled with Endless Sameness and an Eternity without Change.

Thus they strove - bringing forth all their Lore to Create. And as the Twin Polar Opposites strove - they discovered the Higher Elements - Magic, the Planes and Divinity. And so Realmspace and the Multiverse were born. Where intersecting Planes of the Fifth Dimension and Beyond cast off to infinity - and where anything was possible and where Paradox defined all Aspects of Nature.

The world Coalesced into distinct but overlapping Aspects - and The Guild House was named as the Place where Lore is formed. They looked about and were glad - for from this turmoil of conflict - they had created something beautiful.

So it was that they descended into the world - where beings of Chaos, Law, Good and Evil strive towards Eternity. And they had made a place of Great Magic. But a changing Magic. Where the Laws of Certainty are shifted by great discoveries, and where the Laboratories of Mages and Forges of the Swordsmiths form the Powers of world. In This World - anything is possible.

The Guild House Ethos

Rules can tell you how to behave, but what we have here is something more than just rules. Our Guilds are peopled by people - not posters. That means that you can expect more than just civility here to come your way.

We want you to decide to become a part of what we are building.

That means that you can expect to be a part of a community of posters. Our Guilds and Foundations are a place to have fun while you enjoy other people's company. And our Foundations are founded on:

Our Core Principles

Out of Game - OoG - the following apply.

Civility
Diplomacy
Genuinenss
Belonging
Harmony

And

In Game - IG - to your Guild's Enemies, we expect you to be

Combative
Provocative
War Like
Aggressive
Strategic

To your Guild's Allies

Well - whatever works!

The RULES: Foundation Defensive, Offensive and Combat Statistics

Basically -

the power output for your defences may not exceed the sum of the number of people at your keep and;
May not exceed the capacity of your highest level caster, fighter, etc and;
You must feed the people who serve with you and;
You may devise any trap, trick, or otherwise, that a your highest level character could. In terms of Gold and Resources - you have enough. 200,000 should be more than enough to set up some wards, magical fortifications and food supplies. If you want more gold - remember to complete your Underdark Adventure. The trade agreement remains important.
Your Foundation also has physical environment, surrounds, and you should bring it to life with your ideas.

Mass Combat

Think in terms of troups (which are aggregates of 20)
A troup has a nett power level (sum the total levels of the troup)
It has class powers (fighter, Wizards, cleric, - etc)
Keep it simple stupid (KISS) - don't make them too complicated.
If two troups face one - halve the stats for the lesser group. Similarly, if it's a 3 to 1 stack, divide the lesser group's stats by 3.
Average the BAB, Saves, AC of all 20 and all that and - voila - that's your F-PC (Foundation PC)

Breaching Foundation Defences

This will NOT be handled at the aggregate/Troup level, but at the normal D&D Level
