Before you stands a fortress, thousands of pillars of stons surround it. As you come to its doorway, which is made of solid stone. Imprinted on the doors is the three symbols of the Triad. As you look up you see that the fortress goes up 200 ft, As you stand there, you see the doors opening 10 men pushing each door open, and you see a figure emerging from the door in a shining suit of armor, he gets to one knee and says, "The Paladins' send their regaurds." The gaurds move to the sides Giving you a path to walk in.

Hmm, what I dislike about the paladin class the most is, ( Im, not saying I hate the paladin class) is that you can only be good and only be a paladin to good dieties

But, that's the point of the class. A good guy who runs around fighting evil and helping people. That's what his abilities are designed around: Smite Evil, Lay on Hands, Remove Disease.

I think it may be possible to be a Lawful Good Paladin of a non-good or non-lawful deity. St. Cuthbert comes to mind. And I believe there are Paladins of Pelor. I have to look it up.

There are Paladin varients in Unearthed Arcana. Paladin of freedom (CG), paladin of tyranny (LE), and paladin of slaughter (CE). Which gives a bit more choice for a paladin.

Not really what I ment, I mean why can't their be some evil paladins, I do know about the Black gaurds but what about Starting out an evil paladin with evil paladin abilites, like smite good, or harming touch or something
Dyne

11-30-04, 06:36 PM
I don't really understand that, but oh well. To me, there isn't really a need for an Evil Paladin class because there's already Blackguards, and they are basically the opposite of a Lawful Good Paladin.

Any one can join my guild, and I really want to join that tournament, so i need some good characters in here

There is an ECL test thread for anyone interested. It involves fighting to test characters with characters that include a PrC or species that is new and hasn't been used before to the point that they fall against an opponent too powerful for them. It is simply a test arena, and so it should have no effect outside of the arena. The idea is that if they hold their own against enemies at 20th level or CR, then they are too powerful, and if they are above normal power for a 15th/16th level character, then they need minor changes.
Holy_Man

12-02-04, 06:01 PM
sounds kind of cool, I may make a race there and try it out

You shouldn't post the creation there. Rather, you should post that you want to test it there. In the mean time, I am looking for any potential competitors.

A tall, aasimar who seems to be radiating beauty, waltzs in, holding an exquisite harp and smiling brightly. He speaks in a prefect voice, in a way that makes you hang on to every word, seeming to drip honey from his lips. "Hello, your eloquence, I have heard of this orginization and desire to join, for i am a child decended many generations from a Solar angel, as you can see."

You don't have to have a character for a certain foundation to be a member of that foundation. The foundations have been around since before the IFWG. If you want to join a foundation, join it. You don't have to participate in the IFWG.

I know you like half-drow, but drow my ***! You don't seem to like anything not resembling a human. We all keep trying to convince you to play something else, and the few times I've suggested you play drow you told me you didn't like them. Well, maybe you've started to loosen up recently? :thinks:

I actually play all kinds of characters. This is, I suppose, partly because I'm a DM, and part of being a DM that I really enjoy is trying out different character concepts for NPC's.

But, as PC's, I like Dwarves as Fighters and characters who act as the defenders of the party; I like Elves as Wizards, archers, and generally dexterous fighters; I like Halflings as good Rogues; I like Humans for their flexibility; and I like all the other races for the color they bring to the game (and for so many other reasons that I couldn't list them all).

The reason for this behavier is because all the other races just dont look to cool, I may start to loosen up, but one thing that I dont like is just plain elves, I think this may be because elves are just way to common, and plus when i see them I think of everything that elves can be, like santas little helpers, or really short people, or the maniacal things that laugh in my head all the time telling me that knives are my friends and can make ketchup. and I like drow because drow, in my opinion, are something totally different and new.

Drow are evil, canniving little buggers. They make wicked villains, but man is it tiring to try to understand their culture....
Holy_Man

I think that drow are one of the most cool races in dnd. For me, elves are too common, so I sort of dislike them as my own race.
Chosen of the Dark Sun

12-21-04, 02:20 PM
Everyone seems to see all drow as either maniacal back-stabbers or Drizzt wannabes. Actually, there are many different ways of playing a drow (my favoriter race). Actually, in a game Holy Man and I are both in, I'm using this variant to play a CG paladin of Eilistraee. I've also done the evil Llothite bit, and many others, so there are definitely many ways of playing them.
But as to races I like as paladins, dwarven paladins of Moradin are always fun.

A figure stands at the entrance. Her form is loosely covered in a hunter green cloak having an elaborate gold writing woven into the fabric of the garment around the edges. Her softly glowing amber eyes can be seen from inside her hood as she slowly approaches. As the figure in the shining suit of armor gets to one knee she speaks in a thick rustic accent, gently bidding him not to do so. She watches the guards move to the side and modestly moves forward to enquire within.

Hmmm...Interesting first choice in guilds. I would have expected you to go to the GoPG first, considering the reality of the planet has been changed so that it had never been attacked.

He's really good at remembering things like that. Also, he tends to wander around the planes, and so has had this happen more than once...
