They wear topknots and believe in free redistribution of items... they have a kleptomaniacal tendency to borrow knick-knacks from wherever they visit. They have an insatiable curiousity and are immune to fear. But don't let anyone tell you that they lie or steal, as lying and stealing are wrong. Kender may embellish to make things more interesting, and they fully intend to return any objects they come across in their pouches to their rightful owners. |

| Smeagol_Princess11-08-03, 10:33 PM | I'm not sure what it means...but count me in! one of my favorite characters: a kender barbarian caused our party's boats to be capsized by a giant shark! I had climbed up one of the masts to be at the highest ground. After watching dolphins swim by, I saw a large fin swim alongside the boat. Curious, I tied by rope into a lasso and tried to lasso the fin. first I didn't succeed but i did anger it! so it kept ramming the boats. I was one of the first to fall out of the boat, almost sinking due to my weapons ( i didn't take swimming:blush: ) eventually after many attacks with arrows from the one remaining boat weakened him. Then while i was still in the water, the shark swallowed me! I still had my punching dagger so was able to attack from the inside until it died. (with me in it!) I narrowly escaped! it was fun! |

I just convinced the DM that when playing D&D you're playing extraordinary characters, not the average members of the race, so the restrictions don't make sense... besides, if everybody were to play average characters, we'd all be playing farmers... |

Kender my bronze Azer Firelord are the (halfling) race of a world called Kryn (undoubtedly spelled wrong) Kender are mostly thieves but they call themselves handlers (only bad people steal Kender borrow. Kender hate to stay still for long and act like childern. The curousty is often mistaken for stupidity (but it is not) There are no evil Kender so that means the one must be a evil creature in disguise. |

If he was then when he kicked him in the behind he would have added several d6 sneak attack damage and nicked his money, not his hat and belt. He was just out and about and saw a likely victim for his overactive and somewhat insensitive sense of humour. If the dwarf looked particularly upset by the experience he would probably go back and apologise. There is a more than probable chance that if someone else did that to the dwarf he would defend him, there is an equal chance that he will give him his belt and his helmet back if he asks for them. For the time being, however, he is showing off about it in the pub and hoping to be bought a couple of pints for the telling. I suggest the dwarf goes to look for him there. He'll probably share the beer with him as he would never have been bought it if it wasn't for the dwarf's role in the story. The other kender in the pub may well buy the dwarf a couple of pints for being a good sport and game for a laugh as well. If this admiral fellow is going to spend any amount of time in the kenderlands then he had better get himself a little better clued up and learn to be very, very patient! Until then he should just head to the nearest pub and look for a kender reenacting the episode. :) |

Then *POOF* he disapears right in front of you and seconds later you see 10 of them in the room. "All right everybody what are your characters going to do." The Dwarf Fighter-"I ready my Axe and charge the 2 closest to me.", The Hobgoblin Cleric of Pelor-"I pull forth my symbol of pelor and begin to ask for his guidance ." The Half-ogre Paladin(Raised by elves)- "I use my detect evil ability.", The Half-Elf Ranger(1/2 Brother to the 1/2-Ogre)-"I ready my swords and look to my sister.", and The Elf Mage(The 1/2 elves sister)-"I cast Dipel Magic." All Right Dwarf the 2 that you charge and cleve through vanish as you strike them, Paladin there is no Evil in the room, Wizardess at the end of the round All but one of the forms remain. New guy what do you do now. New Guy-"I pull back the hood of my cloak and let it flutter behind me revealing a purple, blue, red, and green clad figure that seems to resemble an elf but more the size of a thin child or halfling. 'Great you Noble Adventurers Might I join you for a drink' I holler for the barmaid to bring over a round for all, a large side of roast, and some of Otiks famous spiced potatoes. 'what you don't serve those here darn.' okay I pull forth the paladins dagger and begin to carve the roast. 'so my name is Capri Wisdor but you may call me Darkkender what are your names, oh is this your knife Mr Large Knight I found it on the floor over there when I walked in, anyways as I was saying.....' So That was not long ago as I was Reborn to 3e(3.5 to) I must be a member since there are so few of us kender spellcasters especially ones who like to travel the planes. |
