| Orcy The Green Wonder12-14-05, 11:09 AM | THE MOUNTAIN TOP ARENA Before you stands massive walls of stone. Carved from the very mountain itself, this place is large enough to fit battling wyrms. Within, the walls are lined with the banners of the various guilds. A seat carved of black stone sits in the center of the far arena wall. In this seat, The Green Wonder himself has sat himself. A lover of combat, he will watch over the fights that take place here. The arena itself is a large area, seats lining it's walls. A beautifully crafted building. As legend goes, the top of this mountain was sliced apart and hurled to the earth below by The Green Wonder. From then, Orcy had an arena carved out of its top, helping with the work himself. Now it stands atop the very same mountain. It is still used today to solve differences between guilds and other groups that do not wish to go to war. Rules: General Rules: Any item resulting in the instant death or the instant subdual of an opponent is not allowed in combat until 8 rounds have passed. Any spell or ability resulting in the instant death or the instant subdual of an opponent is not allowed in combat until 6 rounds have passed (this includes any spells that force an opponent to surrender). Combat begins with no weapons, wands, staves, and other such items drawn. No spells may be active on a character before combat begins. This includes magic item abilities that are not permanent. The combatants must agree on the number of combatants to take part in the battle. If a number cannot be agreed upon, no combat will take place. Interruptions in combat will not be allowed. Any who interrupts a battle will be asked to leave the arena. If they fail to comply they will be forcibly removed. Combatants may not take part in two consecutive battles, however special acceptions may be made during events. Any combatant who surrenders during a knock-out battle must be granted mercy. In a battle to the death, 1/4 of the losers wealth in GP shall be given to the winner. The other 3/4ths shall be given to the guild of his choice. This guild must be decided before the battle. At any one time there will be 4-6 gladiators employed by the Arena. (Still trying to decide wether their payment will come only from the battles they fight or if they'll get pay based on turns.) Battle will be by standard dungeons and dragons rules. Rolls will be made using Invisible Castle (http://invisiblecastle.com/index.php) using the character's name and his/her actions under the notes section (along with the date perhaps). Movement upon the battlefield will be done using the grids listed below. Each square represents five feet on the battlefield. For example, a character standing in square C3 moves 30ft to the east and the opposite end of the arena. They would end their move in square C9. This should be placed at the end of the players movment section of their post. Characters using a fly spell or a natural ability to fly may only move upt to 100ft above the arena floor. Battle Types: Knock out: A battle that continues until one combatant (or team) is left standing. Death: A battle that continues until one combatant (or team) is left alive. Physical Combat: Only physical attacks may be made in this type of battle. Magic or spell 'creating' items (Wands, Scrolls, Staves, etc.) are not allowed. The opponents begin 60ft apart. Mage Duel: Only magical attacks are allowed in this type of battle. Physical combat is not allowed. If a combatant runs out of spells, they must wait until their opponent is out, then they will both be granted their full range of spells. The opponents begin 100ft apart. Anything Goes: Magical and Physical attacks are allowed in this type of battle. The opponents begin 80ft apart. Gladitorial Combat: Gladitorial Challenge: A combatant challenges a gladiator to a duel. The gladiator decides the field of battle. The fight continues until one of the combatants is unconcious. The reward to the winner is (500 x challenger's ECL)gp. Last Man Standing: Combatants join in numbers, any number (up to 6) may participate in these battles. One third of these combatants must be gladiators. The reward to the winner is (2000 x number of combatants)gp. Sentencing Match: Courts that decide to throw a criminal into an arena match choose these types of matches. Depending on the severity of the crime, 1-3 gladiators will be pitted against the one who has comitted the crime. The sentancing court is responsible for paying the gladiators who participate. Experience: Knock out Battles: The experience for a knock out battle is 3/4ths of the normal experience for a challege of the loser's ECL. Death: The experience for a death match is the full normal experience for a challenge of the losers ECL. Gladitorial Challenge: Same as knock out battles. Last Man Standing: The experience awarded for a last man standing match is calculated by the number of combatants. The total exp for defeating all of the combatants divided by the number of combatants -1. For example: with 6 level 15 combatants the total for the winner would come out to be 4500 ((4500 x 5)/5). This calculation is more important for characters of varying levels. Sentancing Match: This match is much like either a knock out fight or death match, but is divided by among the gladiators (or the sentanced if he/she wins). |

| Orcy The Green Wonder12-14-05, 11:12 AM | For this third incarnation of the Mountaintop arena, we have the first ever 'team game' event. This will determine who the third gladiator is in the mountain top arena. The combatants for this match are (in teams)... Team 1:Denrik Shador Tetsuo Team 2: Zombomaniac (unspecified character) Sssargoth Black Mage |
| jagggar12-14-05, 01:11 PM | jagggar takes her place in the box seats for the Lords of Tyrannor. "Quiet the match we shall see. . ." AKA Reserving a post. . . I'll try to keep a record of who battles, outcomes, and rewards for the arena. Orcy, I think we changed XP for Last Man Standing matches. Person who delievers Kill Shot gets (XP/Combatants-1) for every kill. Last Man gets his ECL*75 XP. Example: In a 6 person match-up, 15th ECL character would get 900 XP for every 15 ECL character he delivered the final blow to. He would also get 1135 XP if he were to be the Last Man Standing. |
| premier66612-14-05, 06:34 PM | Black Mage walks in, his rod of metamagic straped at his leg and with the staff of fire at his back, ready to fight. He adjusts his hat, and waits for the match. I hope I kill someone this time. BTW, orcy, I think you should repost the rules for this match, so we dont forget anything. |
| turalisj12-14-05, 07:16 PM | Denrik turned to his allies and bowed. Let us show these dishonorable fools our power. |
| Zombomaniac12-15-05, 12:36 AM | Gabriel walks into the Arena and takes up his position with his team. "May honor guide our actions." OOC: @Turalisj :P @everyone I dont know if I can fight tomorrow or not but will try my best to be active. The weekend will be the best for me really. As long as Mom doesn't deside to take over the computer. DF can you look Gabrial over and approve him. |

Anything else? @Orcy In the rules for the match it says we can only attack if they are on our side of the river. Does that mean we can't fight them on their side? If so every where but the brigde would be one sideed battles. Person A Team 1 attacks Person B Team 2. Person B cant fight back. Person A keeps attacking and soon enough kills person B. |
| Demonfey12-15-05, 02:10 AM | Not that I noticed. I do believe the character's in order, but I'm going to reevaluate the character in the morning to make sure I didn't mess up |

| Orcy The Green Wonder12-17-05, 04:34 PM | Speaking of which, how will the next gladiator be chosen? Since there are 3 guys on each team, will the gladiator be chosen from the most outstanding member of the victorious team, or somesuch? Orcy stated that the winner will be chosen by a point system that he will be using. Now, to answer an earlier question... You may attack anyone on the same side of the field you are on. Someone on Team 1's side can attack someone on Team 1's side. You may attack anyone in any of the towers. The towers may attack anyone on their side of the field. A tower on team 2's side may attack anyone on team 2's side. Anyone may attack anyone on the bridge. Is everyone ready to go then? |
| jagggar12-17-05, 04:40 PM | So if you're on the other side, you can't attack at all (less ye be in a tower), correct? Might be a good idea to quote the whole set of rules here. |
| Sssargoth12-17-05, 06:53 PM | Is everyone ready to go then? Once everyone declares where they are starting on the field from the spots available. |
| Zombomaniac12-17-05, 11:10 PM | I'll take K28 or what ever the spot for that area is. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-18-05, 03:22 PM | Here is the rules post and the post on positions. Once everyone has declared their positions we can begin. Orcy waves his hand and the arena floor begins to change. The earth rises up in a few places in large objects of stone. A river spreads out through the center as towers build themselves up on each side of the river. A bridge stretches itself across the river as fortifications of stone create themselves on each side of the river. Orcy looks out across the arena and grins as he looks down upon the combatants. The Arena (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353/BaddieX51/Arena/arenagridflags.jpg) "Orcy has told you that a new arena shall be used... but what has not been mentioned is you will not be alone. Here are the rules for this battle!" There will be two sets of teams, the teams are... Denrik, Shador, Tetsuo Gabriel, Sssargoth, Black Mage The objective is to capture the enemies flag. Teamates shall not attack eachother. The winner shall be the first person to capture the opponents flag three times, to do this you must take the flag and bring it to your own base. No teleportation is allowed. You may only attack enemies who are on your side of the river, on the bridge, or on one of the towers. If killed in battle, you will be ressurected 1d4 rounds later at your flag. The individual who wins shall be the one who has defeated the most enemies and gathered the most flags. Points will be awarded for each, and these points will be kept secret. Team 1 will have positions in... C12, J13, and Q12, decide amongst yourselves where each of you will start. Team 2 will have positions in... D29, K28, and R29, do the same with your positions. |
| turalisj12-18-05, 05:34 PM | I will take J13. |
| Zombomaniac12-18-05, 06:29 PM | K28 In the K28 area there are brown squares are those walls and if so how high are they? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-18-05, 06:38 PM | K28 In the K28 area there are brown squares are those walls and if so how high are they? Orcy believes he adressed that already, those red and blue parts are walls made of wood. They are five feet high. The brown part in the center is a bridge across the river. |
| turalisj12-18-05, 06:42 PM | How thick? Btw, I changed Denrik's ancestral katana into a +5 icy burst katana for this match, mainly because I can, but also to use against a certain dragon... :D |
| Zombomaniac12-18-05, 06:57 PM | How thick? Btw, I changed Denrik's ancestral katana into a +5 icy burst katana for this match, mainly because I can, but also to use against a certain dragon... :D Is that legal? |
| jagggar12-18-05, 10:15 PM | Are you changing it for just this match? Because if you are, that's illegal. |
| turalisj12-18-05, 10:22 PM | ? I thought a smauria could change it from day to day.... nvm then. |
| Sssargoth12-18-05, 10:22 PM | Wouldnt matter anyway, I wouldnt get too close to the tin man, and it wouldnt do any extra damage to me because of the feats I have. |
| turalisj12-18-05, 10:33 PM | Damn. And Denrik isn't made of tin. He's made of mithril. Big diffrence. |
| premier66612-19-05, 01:37 PM | I'll take R29 if no one wants it. [out of topic note] I gotta say this: YEAH!!!!! I'M IN COLEGE! YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! After painfull months, I finally got accepted in law school. and it only starts in april. SO... I GOT 3 FULL MONTHS FREE!!!! My posting here will become a lot more regular by the way. so orcy, anytime you wanna start this match, I'm availble. [/end of out of topic note] |
| gabrion12-19-05, 03:39 PM | Ok, I don't know what spots have been claimed so far so Shador will claim C12, if that's taken then he will claim Q12 and if that's taken, he will resign himslef to starting in J13. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-19-05, 04:02 PM | Characters, teams, Initiative and finally positions (DF gets the only one remaining). Gabrial T2 20 (K28) Shador T1 19 (C12) Tetsuo T1 16 (Q12) Sssargoth T2 13 (D29) Denrik T1 10 (J13) Black Mage T2 9 (R28) Once everyone has taken up their positions. Orcy stands and walks up to the edge of the arena wall, raising his fish up into the air. "Let us being, HOOAH!" |
| turalisj12-19-05, 04:17 PM | I finally got accepted in law school. You are now officially pure, uncensored, evil. Curse you. |
| premier66612-19-05, 04:50 PM | You are now officially pure, uncensored, evil. Curse you. I know. Aint that great? Now I have a real reason to bear the "666"... :D |
| Zombomaniac12-20-05, 12:43 AM | As the match has began Gabriel makes his move as he is the first to respond to the battle Crie of Orcy. He runs from his position and quick makes his way across the bridge and to the enemy wall. Base Land speed of 70 goes from K28 to L15. That is my round. I am not sure, but I think that if I go all out run then I can go about 4 times normal speed. If this is the case I will go to J1. If I have done anything wrong please tell me. |
| gabrion12-20-05, 04:59 AM | I am not sure, but I think that if I go all out run then I can go about 4 times normal speed. If this is the case I will go to J1. If I have done anything wrong please tell me. You have to have a straight line to run and it can't pass through any obstacles that would hinder movement. Even so, you can make the move above just fine (btw, double move doesn't require straight line or any of that junk). ________________________ Seeing the battle commence, Shador grows impatient. He wasn't used to these kind of fighting conditions, being fully exposed, and he planned to adopt a more favorable position quickly. With a few waves of his hands and a muttering of eldritch words of power, Shador blinks out of existence. To those watching, he seems to have disappeared. OOC: Casting Greater Blink and moving from C12 to I12, still the same height in the air as the tower. Edit: From my reading of the Greater Blink spell I gather that I can stay ethereal, which is why I don't fall. If this is wrong, then my movement will change only slightly, leaving me in the same square but on the ground. |

| premier66612-21-05, 01:46 PM | Hey Orcy, I just remembered I ahve'nt sent you my spells yet. They are still the same ones I sent you for that one-round fight against MoF. If you deleted the pm say so I will sent it again. |

From Orcy's reading of the spell, he believes you become non-etherial when your turn ends. He judges this by the part that mentions stopping one's movement inside an object and becoming material. This leads Orcy to believe that you become non-etherial when your movement stops. |
| Dyne12-21-05, 06:15 PM | From Orcy's reading of the spell, he believes you become non-etherial when your turn ends. He judges this by the part that mentions stopping one's movement inside an object and becoming material. This leads Orcy to believe that you become non-etherial when your movement stops. That's not how I interpret it. With Greater Blink, the caster has control over the timing of when he switches planes. I believe the sentence "When moving through solid objects, you do not risk materializing inside one unless you actually end your movement there," refers to that you have to blink at least once per round, but you still choose when that time is, "you have control over the timing of your 'blinking'". |
| Demonfey12-21-05, 07:59 PM | With the signal to commence, Tetsuo turns invisible, takes flight and charges across the arena in mid air (charge action, arrives at Q24) |
| Sssargoth12-22-05, 12:25 AM | I just have to say this. Witnes the lumbering dragon perform amazing arial feats in tight spaces, and points for me! :ayyyy!: The dragon leaps off his pilar and flys twards the keep, flying out of reach over Denrik, and grazing the celing over Gabriel. He makes as tight a turn as he can, grabbing the flag as he goes, before heading out the way he came. "I got the flag! I got the flag!" Move ends at K6. |

| Zombomaniac12-22-05, 01:04 AM | Fly speed: 170 Feet. :uh-huh: I beleive it is Denrik's turn now. |
| Sssargoth12-22-05, 01:13 AM | :uh-huh: I beleive it is Denrik's turn now. Clear up your confusion a bit. Base Fly speed: 150 + Improved Speed feat which increases Fly Speed by 20 feet, and all other speeds by 10 feet. |
| Zombomaniac12-22-05, 01:29 AM | Clear up your confusion a bit. Base Fly speed: 150 + Improved Speed feat which increases Fly Speed by 20 feet, and all other speeds by 10 feet. I know it was legal. It just took the wind from my sails. Thought I was the fastest. :) Well I'll just have to change plans. |
| Zombomaniac12-23-05, 12:54 PM | :uh-huh: I beleive it is Denrik's turn now. I think it is still Denrik's Turn, yup still his turn. |
| turalisj12-23-05, 01:25 PM | Wtf, I thought I had posted my actions just last night! :banghead: |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-23-05, 01:25 PM | You canno't simply fly into one of the flag keeps like that Sssargoth. Orcy told you that there is a big pair of wooden doors blocking your way. Orcy supposes he could calculate damage for slamming into a wooden door at the speed you were going and see if it was enough to break it... but that might hurt. |
| jagggar12-23-05, 01:37 PM | I don't see an explicit statement that the brown slivers are wooden doors, at least not on this thread. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-23-05, 01:44 PM | I don't see an explicit statement that the brown slivers are wooden doors, at least not on this thread. They are, Sssargoth specifically asked Orcy on AIM. He also uses that same design on the doors for the maps on Ghashmal keep. Beyond that... he thought it would be obvious. To clear things up then... The little brown slivers are doors, the thing they are connected to is a closed off stone 'keep' of sorts. |
| Sssargoth12-23-05, 06:46 PM | I just figured the doors were open, since Gabriel already went through them. Thats why my move is what it is. |
| Zombomaniac12-23-05, 08:19 PM | Ya I am litterly under Sssargoth so that would mean the doors are open and his plan works. If the doors are considered a oppstickle for my running then I will run to them open 'em and then cover Ssargoth's entrance. |
| Zombomaniac12-25-05, 03:47 PM | Ok from what I can tell I went over and opened the door. That makes is possible for Ssargoth to get in and grab the flag. It is now Denrik's turn. Please make your moves and lets get this match going. |
| gabrion12-26-05, 12:24 PM | Ok from what I can tell I went over and opened the door. That makes is possible for Ssargoth to get in and grab the flag. It is now Denrik's turn. Please make your moves and lets get this match going. Actaully if you have obstacles in your way, I'm quite sure the best you can do is make a double move, and you would actually have to go around the obstacles (or make some jump or climb checks), which means you couldn't have reached the door on your turn. Also, since it has been established that the dragon has to fly through the door to reach the flag, the rules for flight and maneuverability (sp?) should be read carefully for this match. |

Ya I can make it to the door. I counted on having to go around stuff. At double I can go 140 ft. that is more than enough to get me to the door. |
| gabrion12-26-05, 02:47 PM | Ya I can make it to the door. I counted on having to go around stuff. At double I can go 140 ft. that is more than enough to get me to the door. Starting at K28 going around the short walls and across the bridge, even with a move of 140 ft., I don't see how you can reach the doors. Are you walking across the water or something? Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but right now I guess I don't understand your move. I know it would be a lot of trouble, but maybe you could list out the spaces through which you move in order to clarify? |
| Zombomaniac12-26-05, 09:10 PM | 5 ft per square right? I jumped over the first wall then went running to the door. [EDIT] Its a 5-ft wall right? If so then my move needs to be changed. The DC would be 40 to jump it. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-03-06, 04:36 PM | The wall is 5ft high, Zombo needs to redo his move and Sssargoth needs to decide if he wants to run head first into the doors or not. Opening them is a move action. |
| Zombomaniac01-03-06, 08:18 PM | All right Gabriel is at L10. I ran through the water and I am assuming that it will be half speed through that. It is shallow and not moving so not swim check needed. If I am wrong about half speed in water and can move at full then I am at K9 opening the door if I can. |
| jagggar01-11-06, 12:48 PM | jagggar watches, yawning from boredom. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-11-06, 01:01 PM | Alright, Orcy has gotten tired of waiting too. Zombo didn't open the door, but Sssargoth reached it and swung it open from the air. They are both at the same spot, Sssargoth flying above Zombo. It is now Denrik's turn, lets get on with this already before Orcy just cancels the whole thing. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-15-06, 12:40 AM | Turalisj has until tomorrow to post Denrik's actions. If they are not posted by the time Orcy returns from work, we're skipping him. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-15-06, 10:42 PM | Since Turalisj has yet to post after Orcy's declaration (and he has seen him online) the order goes to the next person in the initiative. It is Black Mage's turn. |
| premier66601-16-06, 10:19 AM | BM walk out of the tower. He points at the brdge, and a huge dragon zombie emerges from the earth. Moving to P27 Casting summon undead III to summon a adult red dragon zombie at 25N |
| jagggar01-19-06, 12:11 PM | I believe it's Zombo's turn. . . |
| Zombomaniac01-19-06, 07:16 PM | I believe it's Zombo's turn. . . Already!? Ok Gabriel sprints into the small castle, after Ssargoth opens the door. "Lets get this taken care of." He takes the flag and then begins his retreat. From K9 to J2. Grab flag Finish move action J2 to J10. I am right next to Sssargoth |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-19-06, 08:12 PM | BM walk out of the tower. He points at the brdge, and a huge dragon zombie emerges from the earth. Moving to P27 Casting summon undead III to summon a adult red dragon zombie at 25N Whoops, can't do this anymore. They changed summon undead. Summon Undead III can now summon a... Ghoul, Troll Skeleton, or Ogre Zombie (according to Heroes of Horror, they may have changed it yet again in the spell compendium). |
| Demonfey01-19-06, 08:16 PM | According to the Spell Compendium, you got it right. |
| premier66601-20-06, 06:53 AM | wait, so, I can or cant cast it the way I did? |
| Demonfey01-20-06, 09:42 AM | Can't. I really have to begin referring to who I'm talking to all the time... My last statement was directed towards Orcy. |
| premier66601-21-06, 09:43 AM | Whoops, can't do this anymore. They changed summon undead. Summon Undead III can now summon a... Ghoul, Troll Skeleton, or Ogre Zombie (according to Heroes of Horror, they may have changed it yet again in the spell compendium). Okay, then I summon a Ogre zombie. ( :weep: I wanted a dragon...) |
| gabrion01-21-06, 04:32 PM | Seeing that his team's flag has been captured by the monk, Shador turns toward him and casts a spell, then he moves toward the bridge. OOC: Casting Wall of Force around Gabriel at J10 and then moving to J18. BTW Orcy, did I send you a pm with my spell list for this tournament? |
| turalisj01-21-06, 05:56 PM | Sorry for not posting, Guild Wars has taken over. Now, isn't it my turn? If so, can someone tell me where everyone is currently at? |
| Sargatanas01-21-06, 11:35 PM | Sorry for not posting, Guild Wars has taken over. Now, isn't it my turn? If so, can someone tell me where everyone is currently at? They skipped ya cuz you were takin too long. |
| turalisj01-22-06, 12:35 AM | Gah, curse mmorpgs. they are like crack online! (not like I would know what crack is like.....) |
| Demonfey01-22-06, 01:51 AM | Let's see...Gabe just went, which means it's my turn. Yay! Expect action sometime Sunday (probably morning). |
| gabrion01-22-06, 07:47 AM | Sorry for not posting, Guild Wars has taken over. Now, isn't it my turn? If so, can someone tell me where everyone is currently at? Besides the (true) comment Sarg made, keep in mind that you can always go back through the thread and figure out were people are. For jimminy sake, I have to do it all the time since I don't remember where everyone is, and I frankly find it somewhat rude that you expect everyone to tell you what is going on. |
| Zombomaniac01-22-06, 11:41 AM | So what action you gonna take turalisj? :) |
| turalisj01-22-06, 02:29 PM | screw it. It's too late for my character to make a diffrence. |
| Zombomaniac01-22-06, 02:46 PM | Well it is to late to make that action now Turalisj. You will have to make a different one since you where skipped. Currently I have the flag and Sssargoth is next to me. [EDIT] Adding this ine so we dont have to look back in the pages to se turn order. Gabrial T2 Shador T1 Tetsuo T1 Sssargoth T2 Denrik T1 10 Black Mage T2 |
| Demonfey01-22-06, 05:35 PM | Turning visible again, Tetsuo flies full tilt in a straight line Flying charge from Q24 to Q36. |
| jagggar01-22-06, 08:17 PM | Seeing as that the flag has to be captured three times, I don't think it's too late to make a difference. Orcy, could you set up a clear rule about late posting? I'm personally in favor of "You have X long to post. If you do not post by then, you delay until you do post." But if you'd rather skip people instead of delay, that's up to you. |
| Zombomaniac01-27-06, 08:33 AM | Come on people there are betts riding on this fight. Lets get moving! :) |
| Demonfey01-27-06, 08:53 AM | Does anyone really want to do this fight any more? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-27-06, 11:47 AM | It doesn't appear like it does it? |
| Demonfey01-27-06, 11:53 AM | Yeah. We should put it to a vote, though, just because it would be better to do it that way. |
| jagggar01-27-06, 12:41 PM | Not only are there bets on this match, there are bets that this match won't finish, last I recall. In a way, yeah, I'd like to see the arena open up if these guys aren't going to take their match seriously. If they ain't gunna battle, why did they say they would? If they're going to do it, then the better get here and do it. |
| Demonfey01-27-06, 12:51 PM | Well, I've been in the fight, but with the waiting...yeah. Also, I'm the one that bet it wouldn't finish. |
| gabrion01-27-06, 01:43 PM | I'm am (and was) interested in this fight from the beginning and I've tried to keep up when it was my turn. Some people don't seem to care about it though, so it may be pointless. If the match is cancelled, will people get there bets back at the booth? |
| turalisj01-27-06, 05:52 PM | I woul;d still like to finish, but now we're waiting for another dragon....... |
| Zombomaniac01-27-06, 08:21 PM | I would like to finish the match, yes the bets would be returned if the fight was canceled, and DF yours was a OOC bet so it dont count unless you go IC. The fight can work, but we need to get on together more. So far it has been a post a week kinda thing. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-27-06, 08:49 PM | Orcy himself has lost track of a lot of the things that have happened because they've taken so long. |
| jagggar01-27-06, 08:59 PM | turalisj is correct that it's the other dragon's turn. So Orcy, I guess that means you can smack Sssargoth next time you see him if he doesn't post. . . (And I just told him it was his turn, so he can't say he doesn't know.) |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-27-06, 09:45 PM | Just to remind everyone, Orcy doesn't know if this was clear when he mentioned it... To capture the flag you must bring one flag to the other inside your base. So if a blue team member is carrying the red team's flag. They must bring it to their flag position while their flag is there to capture it. If your flag is not there, you must defeat the enemy carrier and 'return' your flag by taking a move action to pick it up (it will return magically once it's been picked up by a member of the team it belongs to). |
| Sssargoth01-27-06, 10:15 PM | The red dragon follows Gabriel through the door, while slowing down a bit. "Looks like your in a tight spot there, Gabriel. Stabbity doom!" As he says the last part, he points at Denrik. Following Gabriel around past the flag, and stopping at K8. Manifesting a maximum augmentated Crystal Shard at Denrik. Touch Attack: 25 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=348383) Damage: 16 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=348385) |
| turalisj01-28-06, 12:04 AM | Stabbity doom indeed dragon Denrik sneered. He drew his blade and, in one swift motion, closed in on Gabriel. He struck with lightning speed, bringing his blade down twice on Gabriel. He missed once, but the one hit was all that was needed. An audible 'crack' was heard as he cut into the human. I would suggest dropping that flag. Denrik growled, bringing his blade out for another swing. http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?u=Denrik&limit=on Actions: Docent activates haste. Draw sword Move next to Gabriel. Use normal and hasted attacks Attack: 36 Haste Attack: 37 damage: 15 con damage: 1 that good enough? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-28-06, 12:13 AM | Gabriel is surrounded by a wall of force, courtesy of your teamate Shador. So you can't reach him to attack him. Also, a hasted attack can only be made if you are making a full attack action. So you would still only have one attack. |
| turalisj01-28-06, 12:31 AM | :banghead: great. Guess I'll just move as close as possible..... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-28-06, 12:34 AM | As close as possible to what? |
| Zombomaniac01-28-06, 12:58 AM | So there is a 10 ft (How tall is it?) wall of force around me and just me correct? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-28-06, 01:17 AM | Orcy will need the specifics of the wall from Gabrion. Since he didn't state how wide or tall it is, simply that it was around Gabriel. Once he answers, you'll have your answer as well. |
| Demonfey01-28-06, 01:20 AM | Hope it's not a dome. Then all we'd need is water and some white flakes, and we'd have a life sized snow globe. |
| Zombomaniac01-28-06, 01:32 AM | Hey Orcy you said that if we die then we are brought back a number of rounds later right? If so how long is the wait? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-28-06, 01:40 AM | Hey Orcy you said that if we die then we are brought back a number of rounds later right? If so how long is the wait? Orcy can't remember what he had originally intended, or if he wrote it down. But currently we'll go with 1d4+1 rounds. |
| jagggar01-28-06, 01:43 AM | It's quoted on the first page, near the bottom (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=8033317&postcount=27). 1d4 rounds at your flag (And I assume it means at the flag holder incase someone has the flag elsewhere). |
| Demonfey01-28-06, 01:44 AM | Probably should become "base" |
| Zombomaniac01-28-06, 01:52 PM | Ok so we're waiting on Gabrion to explain the wall, your revive 1d4 rounds after you die, and Ithink this wall will last 15 rounds. I am hopefully wrong about that last part. |
| gabrion01-29-06, 04:37 PM | Sorry bout the wait, I've been away. Ok so we're waiting on Gabrion to explain the wall, your revive 1d4 rounds after you die, and Ithink this wall will last 15 rounds. I am hopefully wrong about that last part. The wall surrounds gabriel, five feet in any direction from him, and includes a top (effectively making a 10x10x10 cube with him at the center). It will last for 15 rounds. |
| Demonfey01-29-06, 04:44 PM | No floor? :plotting: |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-29-06, 05:07 PM | A wall of force can't be made into a cube. Wall of force creates a flat plane that takes up an area which is a 10ft square per level. |
| Zombomaniac01-29-06, 05:29 PM | A wall of force can't be made into a cube. Wall of force creates a flat plane that takes up an area which is a 10ft square per level. Also take into account that Ssargoth is right next to me so the wall couldn't be in his space. |
| gabrion01-29-06, 06:01 PM | A wall of force can't be made into a cube. Wall of force creates a flat plane that takes up an area which is a 10ft square per level. My apologies...I was misreading the spell. In that case, since the point was to trap gabriel, casting the spell would have been pointless, so Shador would have simply made a full run to J36 (full run at 4x because while blinking Shador is not impeeded by solid things in his way). I think this also means that Denrik's attacks against gabriel would have been valid. Sorry about the confusion. |
| Zombomaniac01-29-06, 06:59 PM | http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?u=Denrik&limit=on Actions: Docent activates haste. Draw sword Move next to Gabriel. Use normal and hasted attacks Attack: 36 Haste Attack: 37 damage: 15 con damage: 1 that good enough? Wait dont you have to beat my AC? Not match? My AC is 37. Also Denrik's Sheet says "Dead." as its title. Denrik isn't dead. |
| gabrion01-29-06, 10:00 PM | Wait dont you have to beat my AC? Not match? Your Armor Class (AC) represents how hard it is for opponents to land a solid, damaging blow on you. It’s the attack roll result that an opponent needs to achieve to hit you. As far as I can tell, this means that rolling an attack that meets AC means a hit. |
| jagggar01-29-06, 10:20 PM | AC or greater hits. But I do believe Orcy said you have to make a fullattack to get the extra attack from haste. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-29-06, 10:51 PM | Indeed Orcy did say that. The extra attack from haste only comes when making a full attack action, and meeting the AC is indeed a hit. |
| Zombomaniac01-29-06, 11:14 PM | Darn, well he forgot to put in the DR 5/evil. |
| jagggar01-29-06, 11:24 PM | Well you don't take any damage since it's only the haste attack that hit you and you didn't get that one. In fact, I think we're currently trying to clear up where the wall exists (or if it even still does) to see if you can be attacked or not. |
| Zombomaniac01-29-06, 11:33 PM | My apologies...I was misreading the spell. The wall is not there. So neither attack hit? |
| jagggar01-29-06, 11:44 PM | Orcy may have to give the official ruling on this, but I believe: Denrik can make 1 attack. That, being the first attack, missed. The second attack does not happen. No damage. |
| turalisj01-29-06, 11:54 PM | Ok, then I guess none of the attaks hit. Pity too, seeing how that would have serously hurt him. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder01-31-06, 01:15 AM | Orcy believes it is... Black Mages turn now. |
| jagggar01-31-06, 10:44 AM | Say, Orcy, this is one of those matches where you are given back the supplies you use, right? |
| premier66602-02-06, 10:27 PM | Due to some pending issues, I left the guild house for a while, ca anyone explain where is everybody and what happened around here to me? cause i knda lost track at the "wall of force" issue. (And who are my teamates again?) Sorry for that, but life has taken over in the last few weeks. I'll post more tomorrow morning. |
| Zombomaniac02-02-06, 10:33 PM | Reading back pages will always solve confusion problems like this. The wall of force never happened, Gabe's guy is running toward me. Sssargoth is right behind me. Denrick tried to hit me, but failed. It is your turn so i think that covers the highlights so far. |
| turalisj02-02-06, 10:45 PM | IOW: Gabriel is the life of the party right now. |
| Zombomaniac02-02-06, 10:58 PM | IOW: Gabriel is the life of the party right now. |
| premier66602-03-06, 08:45 AM | BM moves towards Shador, and draws a small rod Moves to L29 and draw rod of metamagic empower lesser. Folowing an order from BM, The ogre tries to chase Shador, without much success. the thing moved from N25 to L32 |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-03-06, 10:53 AM | Shador blinked through the doors, so they are still closed and you cannot see him to cast desintigrate on him. |
| premier66602-03-06, 01:08 PM | okay, edited the post. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-03-06, 02:03 PM | Alright, that puts Gabrial up. |
| Zombomaniac02-03-06, 07:23 PM | Seeing the Warforged come at him with imposiable speed Gabriel narrowly dodges the Living Construct's attack. He then takes leve to escape to battle and capture the flag. Move from J10 to N29. That provokes 2 or 3 Attacks of oppertunity (exit threatened space, enter threaten space, exit threaten space). |
| turalisj02-03-06, 09:29 PM | :evillaugh: Thank you Zombo. I've been waiting for this ....... Bad move fleshbag. You should have stayed still and taken your beatings like a human. Denrik roared, swinging thrice and hitting twice. In both hits, Gabrile began bleeding profusly(sp?), and both attacks look as if they could have felled a lesser man in two. Attacks: AoO1: 35 AoO2: 42 AoO3: 39 Damage1: 17 Damage2: 18 Con damage: 2 |
| Zombomaniac02-03-06, 09:53 PM | I am still out of there and on my side of the map. :P And if I die then when i get brought back 1d4 rounds later i will have the con back. Double :P |
| gabrion02-03-06, 09:57 PM | I hate to rain on anyone's parade (especially my own teammate), but I think the following from the SRD applies here... Moving out of more than one square threatened by the same opponent in the same round doesn’t count as more than one opportunity for that opponent. Anyway, I think it's Shador's turn, so I will post his actions shortly (as soon as I check where everyone is and whatnot). |
| turalisj02-03-06, 10:25 PM | SHUSH! *hides gabrion's post* you saw nothing..... :D |
| premier66602-03-06, 10:38 PM | Okay, form now on, we should all check the SRD to see if our action are leagal, cause that was, what? 5th time in a row that we had to redo our posts? And I'm not excluding me, btw. Things get really confused wahen you're trying to understand what happens in the battle. |
| gabrion02-03-06, 10:55 PM | Shador moves in and grabs the enemy flag, then moves out of the fortress to K28. OOC: This only works if grabbing the flag is a free action (can you clarify this Orcy?). If it takes a move action to pick up the flag, then Shador will end up at K37 instead. |
| Sssargoth02-03-06, 11:00 PM | :evillaugh: Thank you Zombo. Attacks: AoO1: 35 AoO2: 42 AoO3: 39 Damage1: 17 Damage2: 18 Con damage: 2 Denrik doesnt have the Combat Reflexes feat, so he only gets to make one AoO. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-03-06, 11:22 PM | One AOO. Grabbing the flag is a move action, Orcy has mentioned this before... a few times he believes. Also, Orcy believes the 1 aoo missed. |
| Zombomaniac02-03-06, 11:35 PM | One AOO. Also, Orcy believes the 1 aoo missed. I dodge bullets! :D |
| Sssargoth02-03-06, 11:41 PM | I dodge bullets! :D When the time comes, you won't have to. :D |
| gabrion02-03-06, 11:42 PM | One AOO. Grabbing the flag is a move action, Orcy has mentioned this before... a few times he believes. Also, Orcy believes the 1 aoo missed. Ok, I'll make sure to remember this for the future. So Shador is at K37, still inside the little castly type thing. |
| turalisj02-04-06, 12:32 AM | grah! Everytime I acutally, hit, the attacks don't even count. I swaer, one more time and I'm giving up. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-04-06, 12:58 AM | Orcy believes it is Tetsuo's turn now. Also Turalisj, thats the way things go. You should know the situations around you before you act, that way you aren't disappointed when something is pointed out like this. |
| Demonfey02-04-06, 01:12 AM | Disappearing and becoming more insubstantial than mist, Tetsuo flies through the wall and into the keep. (Using ghost step to turn intangible, charging diagonally from Q36 to L40) |
| Sssargoth02-04-06, 01:52 PM | Sssargoth flys at Denrik, getting a good claw-hold, and attempts to lift him off the ground. Denrik needs to make an opposed grapple check. Grapple Check: 28 (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=355415) |
| Zombomaniac02-05-06, 10:18 PM | :bump: |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-05-06, 10:21 PM | Denrik needs to make his opposed roll... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder02-11-06, 11:07 AM | Alright, because of the lack of interest or the fact that folks just plain aren't doing anything with it. Orcy is going to end this match right now. You all regain any magical items you've used up and there is no winner. |
| Demonfey02-11-06, 12:10 PM | Well, I won one of my bets, at least... |
| jagggar02-11-06, 12:26 PM | And now there should be some more assassins at the SBB? :) |
| Demonfey02-11-06, 12:45 PM | Maybe. Or more people that are wondering why the swamp's on fire. Is it okay for me to light it up yet? |
| Moriok_Mephidross03-09-06, 08:53 PM | Anybody wanna fight? I kinda wanna test out my character. |
| Wilds03-09-06, 11:28 PM | Hmm... I could find Incarin. I have an Uncarnate? i think its called and his cohort the annyoing voice that was responding to you before |
| turalisj03-09-06, 11:32 PM | I could make an incarnate up real fast to fight you. Doubt the gm's would approve the character though.... |
| Moriok_Mephidross03-09-06, 11:36 PM | If ya wanna whip out a 15th level character ya got for the games, I'm lookin for a fight. So if ya aint all... busy elsewhere killin stuff... |
| turalisj03-09-06, 11:39 PM | I can whip up a lvl 15 evil incarnate in about a day, that work for you? |
| Moriok_Mephidross03-10-06, 12:20 AM | Isn't this supposed to be an in game place. Meanin that characters in the game do the fightin? |
| Wilds03-10-06, 12:39 AM | It is an ingame place and an out of game place. I dont know what Orcy would say now. Care if its a 3 way battle? I an approved char that I want to see if I can actually use in a fight |
| jagggar06-30-06, 11:21 AM | Can I go off on a limb and guess that this could be opend up to matches of any level (with, of course, both match participants being the same level)? |
