| anglar12-14-04, 06:42 PM | This is not another murder case. This is an NPC act done to every active foundation IG. The world will be BLUE |
| Dyne12-14-04, 06:52 PM | "Who killed my men! And why the hell is everything blue?" |
| turalisj12-14-04, 06:59 PM | "who ever did this will die!!! i wake up and find that i've been painted blue!!!! and that most of my money has been stolen! without any of the alarms going off even!!!" sirianth storms in. |
| Demonfey12-14-04, 07:11 PM | You look like a pictsie, Sirianth. That's a fey that is about 6 inches high, blue in color, and attacks everything around them rabidly. |
| Dyne12-14-04, 07:13 PM | You look like a pictsie, Sirianth. That's a fey that is about 6 inches high, blue in color, and attacks everything around them rabidly. "Stupid pixies. I had a rather nasty encounter with them in my youth. Can't stand the things." |
| turalisj12-14-04, 07:15 PM | You look like a pictsie, Sirianth. That's a fey that is about 6 inches high, blue in color, and attacks everything around them rabidly. "don't toy with me, i am NOT very happy. not only is most of my gold gone, but my shop has been ransacked. you should go and check your. |
| Demonfey12-14-04, 07:17 PM | "Stupid pixies. I had a rather nasty encounter with them in my youth. Can't stand the things." Not pixie, Bren, pictsie. Also known as Nac Mac Feegle. Confuse the two in front of one, and you'll end up finding out what it feels like to have a boot for a six inch tall person connect with your family jewels with the strength of a mule behind it feels like. |
| Demonfey12-14-04, 07:18 PM | "don't toy with me, i am NOT very happy. not only is most of my gold gone, but my shop has been ransacked. you should go and check your. I don't actually have a set location. My real trade is in hunting things down for customers in need of rare ingredients and whatnot. |
| anglar12-14-04, 07:18 PM | It doesn't take you long to discover that this is the calling card of The Blue Family, an organized crime syndicate that operates soley for their own gain. The price is simple 20,000 in gold every month and you will be left alone. Refuse to pay, and it will cost you more thrice that in people and supplies. And you never know just who is a Blue OOG - Sil, baby, you want Zarth, you get Zarth. |
| Dyne12-14-04, 07:20 PM | Not pixie, Bren, pictsie. Also known as Nac Mac Feegle. Confuse the two in front of one, and you'll end up finding out what it feels like to have a boot for a six inch tall person connect with your family jewels with the strength of a mule behind it feels like. "No matter. I'd probably kill the darn thing on sight anyway. Can't stand pixies, and it sounds like pictsies are just as bad." |
| Demonfey12-14-04, 07:21 PM | "No matter. I'd probably kill the darn thing on sight anyway. Can't stand pixies, and it sounds like pictsies are just as bad." Worse. Think stereotypical Irish man, only six inches tall and with a huge talent for theft. |

We have much to 'discuss' with them." |

The price is simple 20,000 in gold every month and you will be left alone. Refuse to pay, and it will cost you more thrice that in people and supplies. And you never know just who is a Blue I highly doubt they would be able to successfully get past the main hall of the Psionics foundation's crystal keep. there is a giant maze of crystal beyond every door that acts like a hall of mirrors, and it constantly changes it's configuration. Only people truely loyal to my foundation can manipulate the maze to give them a direct course to their destination, which means we can kill any intruder at our liesure while they are lost for eternity. :P Looks like hunting season's open, guys. Shouldn't be to hard, I'm sure there are several trying to find their way out of my keep. |

And yet they did it. Perhaps they have thier own powerful psionicists working with them, maybe even one of yours. |
| Droga12-15-04, 03:09 AM | "You threaten a skygge, and expect us to pay do you? You have crossed the wrong creature. We shall pay you nothing. Step into our halls if you dare, but know that we are watching." Note: If you do send some things into the GoUE. Skygge will be in the shadows watching all over the place. So I'd like to get a PM about it so I can go kill it ;) |
| Sssargoth12-15-04, 03:14 AM | And yet they did it. Perhaps they have thier own powerful psionicists working with them, maybe even one of yours. The only way it could have happened is in the entrance hall because the maze is a flawless defense system, and teleportation of any kind does not work beyond the entrance hall. We also have a dreamborn hydra wandering around as our guardian, and that would have attacked any intruders on sight. |
| Droga12-15-04, 03:16 AM | We're told to put up all these defense then something just randomly pops into our foundations and kills things. Then demands money... yeah... gonna kill something.. Oh, and I'm still waiting to see what I get from that second place in points thing. Though I was first to solve the murder. |
| Tenzhi12-15-04, 04:11 AM | Oh, and I'm still waiting to see what I get from that second place in points thing. Though I was first to solve the murder. The points were given out on quality of roleplay rather than success or failure. There were a lot of participants in the thread, and many of them did well - getting second place is pretty darn good in the circumstances. |
| The Vorpal Tribble12-15-04, 04:27 AM | We also have a dreamborn hydra wandering around as our guardian, and that would have attacked any intruders on sight. A dreamborn thelihydra which has eight neothelid heads to be exact :evillaugh |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-15-04, 04:52 AM | The points were given out on quality of roleplay rather than success or failure. There were a lot of participants in the thread, and many of them did well - getting second place is pretty darn good in the circumstances. Orcy thinks he means his guild should get a higher prize because they solved it first. As for RPing, that should be handled seperate from success or failure. |
| De Batavier12-15-04, 04:54 AM | News of the murders and the following threat reach the Warlock Circle. Knowing they could be next, they dubble the guard. Using their ability to stay invisible indefently and their ability to see others that use invisibility, they guard their temporary base. It's clear that building their mobile and flying Living Ship has become even more important. Karl Abend offers his allies help in this dire time. We shall seek them out and let them feel our wrath. Pain will gain a whole new meaning for them. |
| Dyne12-15-04, 07:16 PM | The points were given out on quality of roleplay rather than success or failure. There were a lot of participants in the thread, and many of them did well - getting second place is pretty darn good in the circumstances. But not quite as good as getting first. :D Also, I agree that GoUE participants should get a special reward for being the ONLY ones to solve it. |
| anglar12-15-04, 07:25 PM | What i love is how everyone presumes that the murders occurred inside their foundation headquarters. I said within your domains. It could have been along a supply line, while they were outside, anywhere. Just needed to get you attention. B.W.O. |
| Sssargoth12-15-04, 07:29 PM | But not quite as good as getting first. :D Also, I agree that GoUE participants should get a special reward for being the ONLY ones to solve it. psionics foundation figured it out shortly after the GoUE |

We also have a dreamborn hydra wandering around as our guardian, and that would have attacked any intruders on sight. You forget that in this world psionics and arcane are the same, at least they act under the same title. So, I, a 13 caster level have a very good chance on bypassing your godamn maze. Besides it's not the point, they have you as target so keep your head on those godamn shoulders of yours. Anglar, Orcy and Sil are still busy confirming my character so I'm on hold - can I still game? |
| Sssargoth12-15-04, 07:54 PM | You forget that in this world psionics and arcane are the same, at least they act under the same title. So, I, a 13 caster level have a very good chance on bypassing your godamn maze. Besides it's not the point, they have you as target so keep your head on those godamn shoulders of yours. Sil told me that we were using the "Psionics are different" rule, and the anti-teleportation field is a natural effect of the crystal that makes up the keep. To successfully manuver the maze you would have to figure out the path and travel over 2,000 Ft in one round, without using teleportation magic/powers before it alters itsself again. The maze only gives a direct path to a destination to any charicter that is truely loyal to my charicter. |
| Dyne12-15-04, 07:58 PM | Mmm. Since most super-natural effects in D&D are magic, Psionicists have a certain advantage if Psionics are different than magic. Perhaps I should make a Psion? Or maybe just a few psionic weapons. I'll have to become more familiar with the Psionics rules. Anglar, is there gonna be any way to retaliate on the guys who killed our men? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-15-04, 08:48 PM | Sil told me that we were using the "Psionics are different" rule, and the anti-teleportation field is a natural effect of the crystal that makes up the keep. This seems like something we need to discuss, because Orcy has been using the Psionics are the same rule. |
| king_of_evil00712-15-04, 10:03 PM | "There will be hell to pay". Slamming his fist down on the nearest table, KoE continues speaking. "This is a call to ANYBODY who wishes to hunt down these no-good-sons-of-rothé. We will band together and destroy these "Blues", regardless of our individual races and foundations. Together, we will be strong. Apart, we will be weak. Who's with me?!" THis will be our retaliation. Swift justice. PS: Sssargoth, is it even possible to enter your domain then? Is there a bypass or something to the maze? (I'm not asking you to reveal it persay, just to let us know if it exists. It's kinda cheap if your domain is completely impenetrable) |
| Sssargoth12-15-04, 10:11 PM | PS: Sssargoth, is it even possible to enter your domain then? Is there a bypass or something to the maze? (I'm not asking you to reveal it persay, just to let us know if it exists. It's kinda cheap if your domain is completely impenetrable) Actually, the entrace hall is the only place that is easilly accessible, and the only place where teleporation is allowed. Just so everyone knows, in my foundation keep, everyone can walk on the walls and ceilings. Edit: I seem to have missed answering one of your questions KoE. There is no way to bypass the maze, persay, but to get it to mold to your will, you have to have extreme, almost un-wavering loyalty to the lord of the keep. I'm sure you can figure out who that is. Other than that, beyond the entrance hall, it's impenetrable. OOC: The easilly breached entrance hall is a bait to make our enemies think we are defenceless. When they get lost in the maze, we can kill or capture them at our leisure, or let them starve to death if they don't have the outsider type. |
| Fuzzy Logic Inc.12-15-04, 11:37 PM | The Thane of the Dwarves rose as he received news of his servants' death. "By Moradin's beard! The Dwarves shall not rest until the Blue are deposed. Scribe! Record this greivous act in the book of grudges." |

Didn't tell me either, so no dice. to get it to mold to your will, you have to have extreme, almost un-wavering loyalty to the lord of the keep. So nobody gets through? Those are some fairly unrealistic expectations. Even Anglar, in all his Lawful Neutral order is everything, self would kill the Emperor of Zarthos if he thought it was for the best of the overall structure of order. |

Bad wording o my part. they have to not have any hostile intentions twards the foudation and its members, and be a recognized ally. |
| anglar12-16-04, 01:50 AM | Bad wording o my part. they have to not have any hostile intentions twards the foudation and its members, and be a recognized ally. Now you're changing the requirements. How can we do things if you change the rules midway through the game? |
| Sssargoth12-16-04, 02:00 AM | The requirements never changed, I just mis-worded it. The way its worded in my previous post is how it works. |
| Tenzhi12-16-04, 02:02 AM | Now you're changing the requirements. How can we do things if you change the rules midway through the game? The same way we've done it so far, I imagine: by muddling through with a lot of biting, scratching, and shouts from the peanut gallery. :P |
| anglar12-16-04, 02:50 AM | The same way we've done it so far, I imagine: by muddling through with a lot of biting, scratching, and shouts from the peanut gallery. :P Can't I even give him a hard time? Jeez. I say we blow up everything and start over. |

I can disguise my alignment and change it so that the maze will think that I'm his ally - not to talk about enchanters and bards special abilities. A few more seconds and viola: the way is open. |
| turalisj12-16-04, 06:48 AM | Can't I even give him a hard time? Jeez. I say we blow up everything and start over. *readies the plasma charges* all set! |
| Xen15512-16-04, 11:32 AM | OK, so about those murders......... ya know the ones im talking about, the ones that lead us all here...... yeah, so what about those? |
| Dyne12-16-04, 01:54 PM | OK, so about those murders......... ya know the ones im talking about, the ones that lead us all here...... yeah, so what about those? Exactly. | king_of_evil00712-16-04, 06:37 PM | You know, a magical or psionic maze really isn't that hard to plow through. . . Antimagic Field. Heck, Anti-psionic field or whatever it's equivalent is, assuming psionics are different (which I hope they aren't). Apply explosives to any walls still in the way, and victory for the invaders. Or at least, bypassing the first "unbypassable" area. . . So does ANYBODY want to stick together and beat these Blues into the ground? Any Wizards or other casters have a Divination spell we can use? |

It also bypasses mid shielding items whe sensing loyalty. Technically it's still under development, but thats how it will work. So does ANYBODY want to stick together and beat these Blues into the ground? Any Wizards or other casters have a Divination spell we can use? I'll help to crush them into a gooey mess, then feed them to my neural putty. I'm sure the crystal library has divination powers in it. It also depeds on if the Blues are blue goblins or not. I'm not allowed to eat the blue goblins inside the crystal keep. |

Any Wizards or other casters have a Divination spell we can use? Well? What have you thought about for finding them. And, em, where the hell are we? |
| king_of_evil00712-16-04, 09:49 PM | Well, let's assume we're all in a mutual meeting place, like the Inn, or just out in some area with a table that I can bang my fist on :D Well, since I'm no longer a Bard, I can't use any divination magic (not that I ever had that much . . .). Is there any magical or psionic finding-spells/powers at our disposal, or [to Ang]anything else that's widely known about the Blues? Like a guild house, city where they tend to congregate, or just anything? Btw BB: I had actually considered making a PrC about a guy who goes around negating magic, but I kind of hit a logic trap (most of the abilities I gave him, like Dispel Magic and Mordenkainen's Disjunction, are magic). I might still make him, but I deleted my rough draft. You got any ideas? (and lets continue this at the ACF) The crystal is effectively a living creature and the teleportation inhibiting is a natural ability that isn't a psy-like ability. It also bypasses mid shielding items whe sensing loyalty. I meant that the antimagic field or whatnot defeats the maze. If any effect cannot happen on our planet earth, then it's either magic or psionics, and assuming they're the same, then an antimagic field will stop your maze in it's tracks. And it woudl also stpo the anti-teleport (but then again, I dont' think you CAN teleport into an antimagic field, so no teleporting anyways :D ) Not that I'm actually planning to attack you, nothing personal, don't get me wrong, I just like trying to beat unbeatable stuff and solving challenges :D |
| Sssargoth12-16-04, 10:08 PM | Well, let's assume we're all in a mutual meeting place, like the Inn, or just out in some area with a table that I can bang my fist on :D that works for me. Is there any magical or psionic finding-spells/powers at our disposal, or [to Ang]anything else that's widely known about the Blues? Like a guild house, city where they tend to congregate, or just anything? the crystal library has object reading in it. I could use that on the note. It isnt going to give a name, but will give plenty of relavent information to work with. Not that I'm actually planning to attack you, nothing personal, don't get me wrong, I just like trying to beat unbeatable stuff and solving challenges :D FF d20 just proves that |
| king_of_evil00712-16-04, 10:44 PM | Great. Send Ang a PM and we'll see what we can whip up. Speaking of FFd20, did you hear about our 'renovations'? Check the FFd20 thread post #1997. I'd link it to that post, but the following posts are also pretty important. Yeah. Kinda OT. |
| anglar12-16-04, 11:39 PM | The pertinent information is the the previous owner was a CN human male who is 26 years old. He bought the parchment at a shop common to the area. The next set of info is about the shop owner. A NG human male 56 years old who purchased the parchment from his supplier |
| BronzeBeard12-17-04, 05:25 PM | like the Inn :headexplo HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO TELL YOU! THE INN IS NOT PART OF THE IFGs!!! :banghead: Next person assuming that and I'll smack him with my DMG! I go to the person that is known to be the shop seller. . A NG human male 56 years old KoE and the other guys are probably following. Then I reach him and asks for his supply of perchments, does he keep record of selling and if he knows the other guy (the one who bought the perchment). And Anglar, can I game? |
| Dyne12-17-04, 05:53 PM | A dwarf with a large axe walks up to the shopkeeper. "You should tell us what we want to know," he says, handling his axe. |
| king_of_evil00712-17-04, 06:39 PM | :headexplo HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO TELL YOU! THE INN IS NOT PART OF THE IFGs!!! :banghead: Next person assuming that and I'll smack him with my DMG! Well, is it not a place where we would all meet and talk? Logically, if we went ANYWHERE to find out about these murders, the Inn would naturally be first, and this isn't even on the inn thread, but it's all good. I go to the person that is known to be the shop seller. KoE and the other guys are probably following. Then I reach him and asks for his supply of perchments, does he keep record of selling and if he knows the other guy (the one who bought the perchment). And Anglar, can I game? I'll follow, but I got 10 silver says that he cannot figure out from an individual piece of parchment who he gave it to, unless we have magical barcodes and reciepts. Then again, since (AFAIK) many notes were written, we should ask if there have been any mass-paper-buying expeditions recently from new customers. |
| Demonfey12-18-04, 02:23 AM | Or, we could just attack anyone painted blue... |
| turalisj12-18-04, 02:26 PM | A dwarf with a large axe walks up to the shopkeeper. "You should tell us what we want to know," he says, handling his axe. that just doesnt sound right...... |
| Dyne12-18-04, 02:28 PM | that just doesnt sound right...... Shut up. He was politely threatening the shopkeeper. |
