WELCOME TO THE PLAYER CHARACTER'S FOUNDATION!

Well I'm taking a page from thasis here and creating the polar opposite of the DMF and creating the PCF.

Mebers of the PCF need to be or have previously been PCs. This place is designed to vent about our DM's, share stories, share tactics, ideas, and basically have fun.

There will be RPing on this board everyone who joins needs to create a PC and post it and then RP it on occasion when you feel it would help. Make it obvious when you are In-Character and OOC. RPing is NOT required, but rather suggested.

NOTE: PC CHARACTERS WILL BE AT 15th LV!

There is no counsil here, just me, so if you have problems, come to me. The DMF has a ranking system, this foundation won't. Instead, those who are highly active and help out the Foundation will be allowed to gain levels. Until then, your PC stays at 15th. When creating your budget limit is 250,000 GP.

Rules:
1) Be kind to others and respect their opinions
2) No mocking people, only their actions
3) Have fun
Welcome to the Player Character's Foundation!

You see a slender elf about 5' 2" walk through the door, his silver eyes gleam as his black hair and grey cloak drip from the storm outside. He takes of his wide brimmed hat and bows.

Greetings Evoker! I humbly request to join in this fine Foundation! I posses a small amount of arcanic knowledge and have no place to exercise it, perhaps this is the place?

OCC: forgive me evoker but as I post this I have no PHB handy

I'm willing to help out here when I can, and to pop my head in occasionally.

An Elf in Emerald Green robes enters. He leans on a staff as he walks. "I am Dyne, Archmage of War, of the Council of Archmages. Xen155, you are welcome to practice your arcane talents at the Council of Archmages. We are always accepting new members."
Xen155

11-11-04, 11:23 AM
Ahhhh, the council of ArchMages...... yes i've been there before...... i'm happy with my life as a caster of little or no title. Oh and Xen will do ArchMage Dyne but I appreciate the invitation to your wounderfull council.

Master Evoker your awfully quite.
Dyne

11-11-04, 04:20 PM
Hmmm. Xen155, how about until new members join this foundation, we make it the Spellcasting Player Character's Foundation? :P

Topic: What are your favorite spells? Your favorite Attack Spells? Your favorite Defense Spells? What spells do you find most useful?
ChaosEvoker

You see a man in a red cape and with a green tunic appear. His black pants seem almost to blend with hsi shadow. He has somewhat long, wild brown hair. His eyes a a violent bright green. He nods his head indicating Dyne and Xen.

I am Master Evoker. I have come. Welcome to one and all!

I like offensive spells mainly. I especially enjoy the area of effect dmg spells. Fireball, Lightning Bolt, cone of Cold, and Horrid Wilting among them.

A dark figure enters the chambers. As he emerges from the shadows and reveals himeself to be a pit fiend. "I am Thasis the Evil. I come here to ask if I may join this humble foundation for I am both a Player and a Dungeon Master"

OOC: I like some other don't have a character currently made. I know what I am though. I am a Tiefling Cleric. Levels: 10 Cleric/ 2 Master of Shrouds/ 3 True Necromancer.

Chaos Evoker nods to thasis.

Indeed and welcome!

11-15-04, 11:38 AM
Hmmm.... a balor, do you focus on the Physical or mental abillity of you powerfull race? And to you Archmage Dyne, I find that even to extremly powerful wizards like yourself, the most early spells a wizard obtains are the most handy. Such as the floating disc spell created by Tenser, or the Unseen Servant spell, not the most usefull in combat (unless you get really creative;) ) but really handy to have.
Dyne

11-15-04, 05:42 PM
"I find it important to have a wide array of spells handy. You never know what situations you might get yourself in, and you may find yourself needing a spell from any of the schools of magic. That is why I chose not to specialize in one school: all of the schools are important, even though you may use one more than the others."

I like to use whatever spells will help me the most in a certain situation. Fireball and Lightning Bolt can be very powerful and handy, but may prove worthless to certain enemies because of their resistances. Magic Missile and Melf's Acid Arrow are almost always useful, as well as Shield and Mage Armor if you don't wear any type of armor or shield. Many spells such as Shout, Vampiric Touch, and Glitterdust can have multiple effects, and can be very useful. Vampiric Touch, for example, causes a nice amount of damage to your opponent while restoring some HP.

"Do not confuse me with a Balor sir for I am a Pit Fiend. I am the what would they say... opisite of a Balor. I am the more pricipled and intellegent version of a Balor"
ChaosEvoker

11-16-04, 07:17 AM
Chaos Evoker chuckles at thasis's remark and cocks an eyebrow. He brings forth a green ball of fire and tosses it nonchalantly back and forth between his hands

Wouldn't a Chaotic Good Solar be the opposite of a Pit Fiend? A Balor and Pit Fiend may be opposites on the Law/Chaos spectrum, but you are both evil. You just have different approaches to the job.

11-16-04, 07:35 AM
dyne has fallen. thus i now have my chance.
Xen155

11-16-04, 11:04 AM
Xen, in a sweeping gesture, bows to the Pit Fiend.

You will have to forgive me master Thasis. I never paid much atention to my Planar studies.

Pushing the bright red roman cloak signifying his rank as Dux for the African campaign, Legate Thanil Arendies of the Holy Roman Empire saunters in. Wearing a bright crimson doublet buttoned up to his neck and with silver bracers covered in the etchings of Baal the Lord of Destruction, the Legate strikes both an imposing and a beautyfull figure.

Wiping the long black bangs away from his auburn eyes he gives a graceful bow to everyone present. "I pray the day finds you all well my Lords and Fiends." A brief smile crosses his face the dissapears as he straightens again.

"To answer your earlier questions Dyne, I have always been fond of Stormwall as both an offensive and defensive spell. It is Firewall but with Lightning element presented from the Dragonlance campaign setting. I find Lightning to be a more useful weapon then fire. Now as to a spell I find merly useful, Passwall. There are many things which you can do with Passwall and many of them are even offensive in nature."

OOC: I need to actualy lower my charecter who I am currently using for a campaign. He is a Marshal 16/Annointed Knight 3/Dragonfriend 1/Dragonrider (Dragonlance not Draconomicon version) 1 and I don't think I can carry his two favorite items. The "Sword of Hannibul" and his Orb of Storms. Darn low money cap. Though I have got to say making in snow in the desert was the greatest thing ever!
ChaosEvoker

11-16-04, 06:47 PM
Yeah I'm raising the money cap to 250,000 GP

*strums his baliset with a soft cord as he walks into the room, black boots clicking against the hard floor*

G'day to ye all, I humbly request to join this fine, fine foundation...

*bows humbly, his jet black hair unsettling from his shoulders as he returns to his original posture, readjusting his baliset strapped across his torso and resting his hand casually upon his sword hilt*
Dyne

Thanil grasps his ivory flute and sends a shrill note to pierce the cacophony created by Gurney and Dyne. "Only 10 ranks but still good enough to beat down those two." He says with a sly smile.
ChaosEvoker

11-17-04, 05:45 PM
*summons a full orchestra* I win.....O_O
Xen155

11-17-04, 05:51 PM
How about Bethovens Ode to joy? :D

Evoker you have experiance in this matter.... does a lich actually have a +4 to effective character lvl?
Droga

11-17-04, 06:22 PM
According to the MM a lich has a +4 level adjustment. So a level 15 character (I'm guessing this is dealing with your character on the stats thread) has 11 class levels and all those good ol lich benefits.
Tekas_Tinkered_Dragon

11-17-04, 07:54 PM
Just to clarify terminology, Effective Charecter Level is Hit Die + Level Adjustment. Since you are required to have a Caster Level of 11 to craft the Lich's Phylactory a Wizard 11 who turns himself into a Lich would be concidered to have an Effective Charecter Level of 15 due to the Lich templates +4 Level Adjustment.
Xen155

11-17-04, 09:10 PM
Thankyou, and what says that im gonna have a lich character <_< >_> :thinks: oh wait..... no...no i am. :D

ChaosEvoker

11-18-04, 07:18 AM
*has his orchestra play Bethoven's 9th Symphony after summoning a choir to sing the choir part* (and yes that includes Ode to Joy, Xen) Ah Liches....good times. I think one of my favorite characters ever was an epic level shadow weaving Demilich named Racanath....tried to conquer the world, after creating a major artifact. Yeah....good times......good times.....
Xen155

11-18-04, 10:58 AM
You forgot the Part where he destroyed half the sword coast
Gurney Halleck

11-18-04, 08:33 PM
Well, Xen, I have yet to hear such a clever remark from you that sparks what ye will call 'good music'.
Xen155

11-18-04, 09:44 PM
Perhaps then Gurney you should play us a tune!
ChaosEvoker

11-19-04, 07:39 AM
Yeah Half the sword coast, and the entire nation of Amn are now a massive undead wasteland.
Xen155

11-19-04, 06:48 PM

Gurney Halleck

11-21-04, 12:19 AM
Well, Xen, that sounds great, but I'm afraid I must decline. Instead...

*strums baliset* I believe you requested a song?

This clear time of seem ambers-
A gold bright suns lost in the first dusk.
What frenzy senses, desperate musk
Our consort of remembering.
Night's pearl-censored requi-em…
'tis for us!
What joys run, then-
Bright in your eyes-
What flower-spangled amores
Pull at our hearts…what flower-spangled amores
Fill our desires.
