| Dyne11-21-04, 04:21 PM | Ahead of you stands a grand castle, with 20 ft. high walls and six towers guarding the perimeter. Atop each tower waves the banner of Cormyr, a white cloth with a purple dragon in the center. Men patrol the walls and the courtyard, each one wearing a white surcoat and bearing the royal crest of Cormyr. As you approach the gate, it opens for you, and you are greeted by five men, each one distinguished from the soldiers by his cloak, four of them purple and the other white. The leader, a strong man with a purple cloak, greets you. "Welcome to Castle Crag. I am Helm Dundragon, and I command the Purple Dragons. Here is where my soldiers reside, protecting the northern border of Cormyr from invaders. If you wish to join our ranks, you are very welcome. We welcome all stout combatants who are loyal to Cormyr and unhesitant in protecting it. We also welcome Clerics to heal our wounded and arcane spellcasters to join our detachment of War Wizards. Come as you are, and stem the tide of invaders." Welcome to the Purple Dragons. This is a foundation inspired by the army of Cormyr from the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. We are dedicated fighting men who are dedicated to upholding justice and peace. We accept all who wish to join the ranks of Purple Dragons. But, those who are nonchaotic and nonevil are most favored, and are eligible to become a Purple Dragon Knight, a leader of the Purple Dragons. | Dyne11-21-04, 06:38 PM | Yo, Dyne, I'll join the Order. What is needed of me? ;) I'm not sure. The foundation is based off the Purple Dragons of Cormyr in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, which are mainly Lawful and Good. So, I guess this can function as a sort of Fighter's Guild and we can discuss things pertaining to combat, Law, Good, and the Guild Wars. CotDS, are you participating in the Guild Wars? If so, I need to know what your stats and such are. |

| Dyne11-21-04, 06:49 PM | I will have no problem with all of you, just as long as they do not meddle in my affairs. "We are keepers of justice and peace. If you threaten those who we are sworn to protect, we will not tolerate you. Otherwise, you have nothing to fear from us." |
| Demonfey11-21-04, 06:50 PM | But what defines your sense of justice? Is it simply not being evil? Or is it more complex? |
| Dyne11-21-04, 06:54 PM | But what defines your sense of justice? Is it simply not being evil? Or is it more complex? "Justice is the punishment to those who violate our laws. If you unjustly cause harm to another person, you are subject to our just wrath. If you threaten the lands of Cormyr or our beloved leader, you are subject to our vengeance. Do not cross us, and we will not harm you." |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-21-04, 06:59 PM | *go DYNE* Silmarien sees the banner of The Purple Dragon fly in the breeze and the Knights of the Order - and their Chieftain Helm Dundragon, whose shining armour gleams in the sunlight. Sil marches up to the front of the Keep and hands the Sentry the following letter Lord Helm Dundragon, It is with some urgency that I write to thee. Realmspace is haunted by the Minions of Evil and the Dark Lord's avatar walks the lands, in defiance of the Eternal Prison and in defiance of Mythal Arnandahar. Further, a new evil walks the lands - this "Skygge" - which is some servant of the Shadow World whose banefires are a cruelty and defilement of all good beings' auras. At our halls, we have discovered new Lore, and that brings me to my purpose for writing to you. I would give my life to spare the world from evil and the Pereldar seek your allegiance, that we, together with the Guild of Pure Good and The Council of Archmages, may stem the tide of evil and protect the lands from a second ruination. For, 10,000 years ago, all was burned, runined or damned, 'ere the Dark Lord was Imprisoned and I fear the Shadow seeks to sieze the throne and impose tyranny on us all. When you have made your decision - please advise the Pereldar. Your Servant Silmarien |
| Demonfey11-21-04, 07:02 PM | Very well. Here is a gift of goodwill, then. {With that, black flame shoots from his arm, and an area of dirt becomes a bastard sword made out of sleek black metal. As he picks it up, you notice that it seems to bend the light around it, and that it is studded with black diamonds.} This sword is made out of shadowstarfire. This energy is something I created after witnessing the power of silverstarfire. This blade is the first of its kind, and can alter the path of light around it, making it appear to be in a spot different than its actual position. Weapon under blur effect. -2 to dexterity in opponent's AC. |

This blade is the first of its kind, and can alter the path of light around it, making it appear to be in a spot different than its actual position. Weapon under blur effect. -2 to dexterity in opponent's AC. *scratches head* Does that mean his Dexterity effectively decreases by 2 for the purposes of AC, or does the opponent suffer -2 to AC? "Lady Silmarien, I share your concerns. We welcome an alliance with the Half-Elven Foundation, as well as the Guild of Good and the Council of Archmages. As for the Skygge, one of their more prominent creatures, Droga, will face me in a fight to the death at the Mountaintop Arena. I will surely succeed, vanquishing a great evil from the world forever." @Chosen of the Dark Sun: Any ideas for a topic? |
| Demonfey11-21-04, 07:25 PM | The opponent suffers a -2 to AC, because their perception of the blade is that it is in a different spot than it actually is. Against a blind creature, this doesn't have any effect. |

Do you guys have a topic to discuss? |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-21-04, 10:52 PM | Sure, I'll join the guild wars. I haven't done this in any other guilds since I prefer to start with relatively few posts. That and the Purple Dragons rock. How powerful should we be? And can we have cohorts if have leadership feat? And can we be one of the non-standard races from Savage Species? |

This whole foundation is based on taking the Leadership feat, then having your cohort take the Leadership feat, then having HIS cohort take the Leadership feat, etc. etc. That's how I ended up with so many men: 5 of them are cohorts. As for how powerful: 32 point buy method for Ability Scores ECL 15 200,000 gp worth of equipment Use whatever material you like, including homebrew stuff, as long as the GM's can see it and make sure it's balanced etc. |

| Dyne11-22-04, 05:14 PM | I know... By the way, has anyone else figured out that you can be a good demon if someone forces a Helm of Opposite Alignment on you? Happened to my quasit character once... But, what happens if someone takes off the helmet? |
| Droga11-22-04, 05:21 PM | Then you become me :P |
| Dyne11-22-04, 08:15 PM | Then you become me :P  I have a topic. I was surfing around at the FR boards, and I came across an idea: Purple Dragon High Knight. Have any of you heard of such a PrC being created? If not, we can create it ourselves as one of our Prestige Classes. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-22-04, 08:20 PM | But, what happens if someone takes off the helmet? If you read it's entry in the DMG, taking the helmet off won't restore the former alignment. Only wish or miracle, followed by remove curse can restore it. And the changed character regards this prospect with horror, actually prefering their new outlook. And this is completely voluntary. The Helm doesnt force you to think like that, but instead merely rewrites the characters sense of morals. So I had a lawful good quasit running around. Very powerful for an item of it's price, that helmet... |

Maybe a prestige class for a prestige class, so you need a few levels in Purple Dragon Knight to use it. :thinks: By the way I'm posting my character now. I'll use an NPC generator I know of for cohorts. If you wanna check out the generator, I think somone posted a link to it on the first page of the Player Characters Foundation. I think he would have a Full Base Attack Bonus, since it is afterall a combat class. It would have a High Fort Save, being a combat class and following the outline of Purple Dragon Knight. Hit Die d10. Some additional abilities for leading. Maybe something for Mounted Combat? :thinks: |

I didn't realize creatures bestowed their LA to followers and cohorts? I don't have CW either. Even though this is mainly a combat organization, I think we should get involved in the Drow Murder Mystery. We may be later than everyone else, but it'll still be fun to figure stuff out. I've been working on the Council of Archmages case, but I'm totally stumped and am not much farther from where I started. Reminder: We're trying to develop a Purple Dragon High Knight PrC. If you have any ideas, post them. (in the mean time, I have some stuff to do involving other foundations and finding out if this PrC already exists) About Purple Dragon High Knights: There is also a Purple Dragon Highknight prestige class, which is distinctly different than the Knight. Highknights are specifically not current army officers; they are special agents of the Crown. The prestige class is detailed in Dragon Annual #5. The first highknights were former members of the King's Blades -- companions of Azoun IV -- but since then others have been made Highknights. They may function as bodyguards for the Royals, and they may also be sent on special missions directly for the Crown. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-22-04, 11:09 PM | I didn't realize creatures bestowed their LA to followers and cohorts? Since they are hobgoblins as well, they all have the +1 LA. You don't happen to have Dragon Magazine Annual issue #5, do you? For High Knight, I was looking more for a kind of general than an agent. What do you think? |

For High Knight, I was looking more for a kind of general than an agent. What do you think? Dragon is a bit of a stretch for my wallet... As for the High Knight, we could give it abilities similar to a Marshal, being able to inspire troops. And I don't think there is anything in the rules against hobgoblins. |

And I don't think there is anything in the rules against hobgoblins. Nevermind the hobgoblins. They're fine. What is Marshall? I've never seen it before, except in your's and Orcy's characters. It sounds like it would be a good class for a leader. EDIT: Wait. Just curious, aren't hobgoblins usually evil? Or do these ones owe a special allegiance to Cormyr? |

| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-22-04, 11:56 PM | Unforseen delay guys, I'll have to get it to you in two parts since it's an entire class and it's huge. |
| turalisj11-23-04, 12:02 AM | actually i found the archived version, here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20030906b) it is. my leutentant is a lvl 4 rouge and a lvl 5 marshal |

| Droga11-23-04, 12:10 AM | Marshal is an amazing support class. Once used one with a two fighters, they had a good +4 to damage on flanking, and they were almost always flanking. Really great class to use. |

| Xen15511-23-04, 05:33 PM | What is the Purple Dragons current project, we just accepted an alliance with the Skygge Hunters, so will WE be hunting Skygge? |
| Dyne11-23-04, 09:47 PM | What is the Purple Dragons current project, we just accepted an alliance with the Skygge Hunters, so will WE be hunting Skygge? If that is your wish. Personally, Helm will not rest until Droga is dead. If all the Skygge are that bad (and I'm guessing they are), he will destroy all of them. We were trying to come up with a kind of Purple Dragon High Knight, but not with that exact name (since it already exists). It would be like the Purple Dragon Knight, but would expand on the leadership abilities and would be like a general. |
| Xen15511-23-04, 09:51 PM | Xen bursts through the door and snaps to attention. Sir, I have seen your latest challenge to Droga! Sir, are you sure that is a wise choice? |

| Dyne11-23-04, 10:35 PM | A few notes on my character: Half elf, half demon Always wary of people with swords on their person, or any weapon or spell conceivable Fire elemental savant (full) Developer and controller of shadowstarfire wizard and member of the Council of Archmages, Half elven foundation, and Guild of Ultimate Evil (to name a few) You forgot, he also seems to hate Lawful Good people. (which would make sense. Isn't he Chaotic Evil?) |
| ChaosEvoker11-23-04, 10:37 PM | A myseterious gray skinned elf walks into the room. His aura is dark indeed and his bright green eyes stand in sharp contrast to his long black hair. The hair is so black it almost seems purple. "I hear someone has vengance they wish carried out...." The elf pulls out a piece of paper and reads: "I see. 'Droga' is it? Mmhmm. Well I believe I can take care of this little problem for you. For the right price my..." His hand alights in black fire "...services...are avaliable." |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 10:37 PM | He doesn't hate them so much as likes to taunt them and make fun of them as an anxiety release system. He is so chaotic and so evil, he can act good in his own way and still be assured of his own evil. |
| Holy_Man11-23-04, 10:40 PM | I am a person that favors the paladin class for there excellent abilities. I also favor the human race for the extra feat, skills, and no levle adjustment. I lean towards them because I am a human myself, obviously |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-23-04, 10:42 PM | CotDS, I need to clarify something. What is your cohort's name? Is it Bangh? Bagnah? Bahnag? Gabnah? Habgan? Habnab? Man, there are so many possible combinations for those letters. :D The name is Bangh. Not my invention, I just used the name the generator gave her. |
| ChaosEvoker11-23-04, 10:43 PM | "Does no one have interest in my offer?" |
| Holy_Man11-23-04, 10:44 PM | I am fairly new on this site so i would ask how to make a character for this guild |

He is most definently some kind of undead to, I have met this one befor. |

I also favor the human race for the extra feat, skills, and no levle adjustment. I lean towards them because I am a human myself, obviously NO, please NO! Not the paladin again! Be something else for once, please! Even a fighter or cleric! But be something else for a change. And you're all humans, but lots of people don't use them. |
| Xen15511-23-04, 10:49 PM | NO, please NO! Not the paladin again! Be something else for once, please! Even a fighter or cleric! But be something else for a change. And you're all humans, but lots of people don't use them. I asume you two have played D&D with eachother befor? |
| Holy_Man11-23-04, 10:49 PM | Sorry chosen, its just the way i float towards, hope ya dont mind ma man, but im just that way, a paladin lover |
| ChaosEvoker11-23-04, 10:49 PM | Smirks at Xen. "Indeed..." Letting his spell fall, he shows his undead form. Rotting skin clinging to his decaying frame. "I offer services. I may be evil, but I am willing ot destroy evil. I fight for your good cause in this case. Would you turn away help for a good cause simply becuase the source is atypical?" OOC: Just on a side note, my character doesn't smell. You cannot detect his undeadness by his scent! |
| Holy_Man11-23-04, 10:51 PM | I asume you two have played D&D with eachother befor? yep, me and chosen have played before, he's ussually the dm, and im ussually the pally |
| Dyne11-23-04, 10:51 PM | There's nothing wrong with Paladins. I, myself, am a Paladin. You create a character the same way you would in normal D&D, with the following changes: ECL 15 (ECL stands for Equivalent Character Level) Point-Buy Method, using 32 points for Ability Scores 200,000 gp worth of gear Any kind of material you want to use, whether it be official or homebrew. The judges have to looks over homebrew stuff, however. When you finish your character, post him on the Player Character and Statistics thread. Anyways, it also makes sense to be a Human, since the Purple Dragons are in Cormyr, and Cormyr is a Human country with only a small percentage of Half-Elves and Elves, and very few of any other race. |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 10:52 PM | Consider anthropomorphic animals, to start with. It would be interesting to have a wolverine join the Purple Dragons... :) |

| Holy_Man11-23-04, 10:53 PM | oops, sorry, didnt read the whole thing |

And, I sense you do not fight for my cause, but for money. I will be the one to destroy Droga. He is my nemesis now." |
| Dyne11-23-04, 10:55 PM | Ya, I know how to make a character, Dyne, its just i dont know where to post it Post it at the Player Character and Statistics thread. It's here, floating around in the Guild House somewhere. It still hasn't been stickied. [sigh] I need to see Sil about that. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-23-04, 10:55 PM | There's nothing wrong with Paladins. I, myself, am a Paladin. I know, it's just that he uses one EVERY SINGLE TIME I DON'T FORBID HIM TO! |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 10:57 PM | It's on the first page, if that helps. Just remember to consider anthropomorphic animals, or the unlikely hero species, like a tiefling. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-23-04, 11:19 PM | It's on the first page, if that helps. Just remember to consider anthropomorphic animals, or the unlikely hero species, like a tiefling. Here comes his human paladin of Tyr or Torm (he seems to alternate)... As for non-humans, I've tried to convince him on many occasions to no avail. He won't pick anything that isn't obviously at least part human, such as an aasimar. Maybe now is a good time to pull out one of those Helmets... No! That was out loud too, wasn't it?! :censored: :banghead: |
| Holy_Man11-23-04, 11:26 PM | hey dyne, just to tell ya, are you sure we only get 32 ability points! in total! Because that isnt alot. Or is it all the abilities start out with 10, and we add em on |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-23-04, 11:32 PM | hey dyne, just to tell ya, are you sure we only get 32 ability points! in total! Because that isnt alot Look in the DMG, pg. 169, for the rules. You start out with 8 points in every ability, and then use the rules on that page to add to those. That's how we all got our scores (except for me, the half-dragon :D ). |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-23-04, 11:34 PM | The castle door suddenly creaks open, a gust of wind blows in and with it several boughts of laughter. suddenly about five or six pixies, and grigs appear (haven't decided on cohorts etc. yet). You know, just from "Grin Reaper", I figured it was you before I even read your post. Help me get Holy Man to be something other than a paladin! |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 12:44 PM | Holy man, have you considered a cleric? They can be like paladins, but with the ability to help heal those who need it. And a guild full of melee fighters could definitely use a full healer, if you think about it. |

| Demonfey11-24-04, 12:55 PM | Wizards are also good. Why waste your health and strength on only one enemy, when you can attack dozens with one spell? If you also multiclass into archmage, you can reshape the spells to hit even more opponents. |

| Holy_Man11-24-04, 01:32 PM | sorry guys, i gtg |

Good boy. {The dragon looks at him with gudging respect and some disgust at his actions.} Demonfey... Orcy is begining to get tired of coming onto these threads and seeing you threatening people with your EPIC character. If you want to threaten people, use your level 15. Because if it keeps up, Orcy's gonna have some butt to whoop. |
| turalisj11-24-04, 04:05 PM | mybe i could slip a potion of baleful polymorp(chicken) into his drink.... :D |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 04:09 PM | Or use one of my Helms of Opposite Alignment... :D |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 04:21 PM | Alright. I was just trying to convert a fellow board member to the path of wizardness. Relax, will you? In an actual fight, I will use the 15th level shard personality Elf. The reason I don't change this to a 15th level character is similar to why you aren't 15th level. I just can't get the flavoring of the character right in non epic levels. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-24-04, 04:26 PM | That does not mean you should go around threatening other players. Orcy has seen you pop in with your epic character and tell people what to do many a time. Not to mention you talking about having your character behind the scenes controlling things. Orcy suggests playing a level 15 like everyone else. You have no reason not to simply play a different character rather than your epic one for these games. Having an epic character running around threatening people and telling them that he is going to attack them if they don't do what he wants is not right. |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 04:28 PM | I know this is off topic, but I have been trying to ask people and have yet to get an answer from anyone. Orcy, do you know if you have to request to start a thread, or if you can just do it off the bat. I have a plan for an item/weapon/pawn shop that explains where people get some of their items, and can be minorly related to the plot in the case of the fights. Could you tell me? Sorry about the popping in at random points and ordering people around with epic magic. I'll just try and keep to the background, where I won't have as much impact. Okay? Any discworld readers will get this part: I was merely trying to emulate the Patrician in some part. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-24-04, 04:32 PM | Orcy isnt too sure about that. An epic character can obviously make more powerful things than a non-epic. They would be making a lot of money from other players that could then be used for their level 15 "personality" (in your case). Which would make that level 15 a lot more powerful than it should be. |

Wasn't thinking about that part. In any case, the only thing my character can make are beholder grafts. The money would go to workers, the arena, and guilds I am a part of. Is that okay, at least? |
| turalisj11-24-04, 05:09 PM | anyone know what region in greyhawk/fareun southeastern wisconsin would be in? |
| Dyne11-24-04, 06:04 PM | anyone know what region in greyhawk/fareun southeastern wisconsin would be in? :uh-huh: Demonfey, I think you can just start a thread, but I wouldn't really know. I just started this foundation without asking, and it hasn't been closed yet. People, we need to get a topic, and then stick to that topic. Orcy, can you discuss with Demonfey his Epic character on a different thread? |
| Holy_Man11-24-04, 06:26 PM | Im back! Hey chosend of the ds, can you tell me how to make a character with the 32 ability points? :D |
| Holy_Man11-24-04, 06:34 PM | alright, as a topic, I think that we should discuss the favored races of the people in this guild, and i havent made a character yet on the fact that i dont have the dmg |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 06:45 PM | Im back! Hey chosend of the ds, can you tell me how to make a character with the 32 ability points? :D Alright, everything starts at 8, and you use the points to up them. Everythin up to 14 takes a number of points equal to how much above 8 it is (such as 4 points for a 12). A 15 is 8 points, a 16 is 10 points, a 17 is 13 points, and an 18 is 16 points, okay? |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 07:35 PM | Sorry. The conversation just kind of hit the breaking point here. |
| Dyne11-24-04, 08:06 PM | alright, as a topic, I think that we should discuss the favored races of the people in this guild, and i havent made a character yet on the fact that i dont have the dmg Favored Races: Helm is a Human Paladin/Purple Dragon Knight/Divine Champion from Cormyr. I, myself, like Elves, Humans, Dwarves, and Halflings for characters, depending on the type of character. Elves are my favorite, and I play them as all types of characters. I play Humans sometimes for their adaptability. I play Dwarves for Fighters. I play Halflings for Rogues. I don't play Half-Orcs because of their Intelligence/Charisma penalties, I don't usually play a Gnome, and I have never played a Half-Elf. The Half-Elves of 3.0 seemed to have nothing about them that was desirable: They were somewhat like Elves, but their Listen, Spot, Search bonuses were lower, and they didn't have a Dex bonus. They were kinda like Humans, but they lacked a Human's adaptability. So, I just never really saw a point in playing a Half-Elf in 3.0. Just made the jump to 3.5, and I may consider playing a Half-Elf since they now have Diplomacy bonuses. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 08:10 PM | I like wild elves 'cause sorcerers kick ***! :D |
| Dyne11-24-04, 08:17 PM | I like wild elves 'cause sorcerers kick ***! :D Hmmm. I always thought Wild Elves would make good Barbarians, or maybe Rangers. |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 08:18 PM | I still think that an anthropomorphic animal would be great. If you were a ranger, many people could consider you to be your own animal companion. :D |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 08:20 PM | Hmmm. I always thought Wild Elves would make good Barbarians, or maybe Rangers. It says in the Races of Faerun, which is more or less accurate at this point, that their favored class is sorceror. Don't ask me why. Personally, I agree with you, Dyne, because that could make some sense. |
| Dyne11-24-04, 08:20 PM | I still think that an anthropomorphic animal would be great. If you were a ranger, many people could consider you to be your own animal companion. :D The main reason Helm is a Human: The Purple Dragons are in Cormyr, which is a Human country. It would make more sense for the Leader of the Purple Dragons to be a Human. |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 08:23 PM | Yeah, but you just said favored races, nothing about leadership. |
| Dyne11-24-04, 08:24 PM | Yeah, but you just said favored races, nothing about leadership. Demonfey, are you wanting to be a member? Or are you just gonna post here every once in a while? Or are you secretly spying on us for the Guild of Ultimate Evil? ;) |
| Dyne11-24-04, 08:25 PM | Man, has this foundation really had that many posts?! Whew, we've only been around for a few days! |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 08:27 PM | Demonfey, are you wanting to be a member? Or are you just gonna post here every once in a while? Or are you secretly spying on us for the Guild of Ultimate Evil? I just feel like posting here every once in a while. Besides, why should I spy on you guys? My character's motto is attack when attacked. You have yet to attack, so he is edgy but okay around you. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 09:14 PM | Sup peeps im on... making my char for guild wars.... soooo many choices, and no dmg for magic items. i looked at favored races but i was also doing some reading and thought i might be a loxo. Which are very cool. I kinda did a total shift from small to big lol. With leadership feat on cohorts i could potentially get a clan of loxos for our guild lol. |

I've already got a batallion of 70 hobgoblins under my command :D . 71 i you include me. I'll lend you the DMG tommorow. Oh, and I edited my character slightly everyone, since I realized that my weapon didn't really do me any good. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 10:02 PM | cool, sounds fun....... and i do admit that ur character kiks aaa! but loxos are so much more powerful then the hobgobbies... You may get more class lvls but loxos can 2-hand huge weapons normally sized for 1 hand (mmmmmm... huge warhammer) I was looking at the magic items i do have information for and one really evil one: render bait :D gives u as many as ur cha bonus minimum 1 grey renders bonded to you as it says in mon. man. even tho with my sucky cha i could only get 1 its still awesome |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 10:08 PM | Grin Reaper, about your sig, it was 400 years, not 3000. I said he had been there since Waterdeep Castle was still being built. And yes, Keld does kick ***. The problem with your loxo however is that with the low class levels (racial HD don't count) and charisma, you won't have very good or very many cohorts or followers. |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 10:09 PM | {Crowley hears stamping behind him, and turns around to see a Loxo. Then he sees more Loxos, and even his ears droop. Then, he is trampled into the ground. He eventually gets up, and groans in pain.} I hate it when that happens. |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 10:12 PM | What about thri-kreen? They are ECL 3, have four arms, and can use multiple weapons at once. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 10:16 PM | What about thri-kreen? They are ECL 3, have four arms, and can use multiple weapons at once. Sniff, I love those guys! :weep: |
| Dyne11-24-04, 10:16 PM | Loxos? Do you mean Loxodons? Mr_GrinReaper, you can look at the D&D SRD for magic items and such. It has a section for them. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 10:17 PM | Thats true, but loxos poon.... lol......And about Tri-Kreen, Yeah, thought about that, Me and another PC from DotDS's group made one togather at 10th level who duel wielded enchanted gythkas and had a dmg of 38 MINIMUM, that is sickening. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 10:19 PM | Yes i mean loxodons, stats for them in back of savage species. and thx about the info on mag item section. on to the bard: CotDS yeah but he would be cooler if it was 3000 years..... lol since hes really rather unaged |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 10:56 PM | Ooh...can you give me some specifics? (Classes) I need a weaker character. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 11:03 PM | Ooh...can you give me some specifics? (Classes) I need a weaker character. What do you mean? |
| Dyne11-24-04, 11:04 PM | What do you mean? His character is currently ECL 23. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 11:08 PM | His character is currently ECL 23. I know that, but I'm asking what he wants. If you want a weaker character you could always be a member of my favorite race. |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:14 PM | My second favorite species is probably the thri-kreen. I just want some information from someone who made a thrikreen character successfully first. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 11:16 PM | By favorite race I meen kobolds, the best race in D&D. Especially half-red dragon ones... :D |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:18 PM | Yeah, but the thrikreen can use four shortswords at once, and a rogue would get to be really, really good. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:25 PM | Specifics on Loxos? well, they have 6 racial hd, +2 level adjustment darkvision to 60 feet large size base speed 30 feet 2 trunks allowing 2 slam natural attacks (1d6) berserk rage: like a barbs raging ablity except every time a fellow loxo clan member dies trample: can make a 1d8+1 and a half str bon dmg attack by running through an opponents square (overrun, charge or bullrush i guess +8 str +2 dex +2 con -2 cha +4 nat armor bonus favored class:ranger and they look like elephants with two trunks that stand on 2 feet |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:27 PM | oh thri-kreen..... lol, all that work.... just get multiattack tree, and multidexterity and double wield gythka's (1d10/1d10 19-20 crit exotic weapon that thri kreen treat as martial) |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:32 PM | Me like. Now, what was the class the thri kreen had? That tends to be important. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:33 PM | Thank god.... Just finished (mostly) putting my character up on PC and stats thread..... peeps can have a look see, but i dont even have my items up yet so.... yeah... |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:35 PM | Giant greatsword, Mr. Grinreaper. Think about it. It would do over 3d8 each time. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:35 PM | Classes, Try some ranger (because u get combat style multiwep. fighting for free) and some fighter for other feat stuff also. hmmmmm..... maybe even try adding psionic warrior..... hehehehehehe :) |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:36 PM | hmmmmmmm.... Giant greatsword..... Muahahahahah! |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:37 PM | I have it! A thrikreen ranger/druid. That way, I also get good spells! |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 11:38 PM | Giant greatsword, Mr. Grinreaper. Think about it. It would do over 3d8 each time. Yeah Mr. Grinreaper, think about Hruggruk! Hruggruk mad! Hruggruk smash! By the way, it's kinda funny that my hobgoblin has more HP than you loxo. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:38 PM | no, but thats already two handed, i can only wield huge weapons two handed that would be one handed if they were sized for me. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:39 PM | That is lol... but remember my wizzy lvls which i should prolly remove |
| Dyne11-24-04, 11:40 PM | Yeah Mr. Grinreaper, think about Hruggruk! Hruggruk mad! Hruggruk smash! By the way, it's kinda funny that my hobgoblin has more HP than you loxo. Oh yeah, well I have more HP than all of you, and I'm only a Human! (this isn't counting Demonfey, of course) |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:40 PM | That's why I said "at least". I forgot the exact damage for a huge greatsword. :schemes: Crowley's a mage. You're supposed to have more than me. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 11:44 PM | Yeah, well, even though you could beat me one on one, my auras would overpower you if it was you and your cohorts vs. me and my cohorts. And remember, my auras work on me as well... :D |
| Dyne11-24-04, 11:46 PM | I have 150 HP, more than Droga himself. Helm is a true warrior. :D |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:46 PM | hmmmmmm..... but once i find out my cohorts, even if theres not many, would u like to go up against 30 or so raging loxos, because u killed only 1 of them |
| Dyne11-24-04, 11:48 PM | Yeah, well, even though you could beat me one on one, my auras would overpower you if it was you and your cohorts vs. me and my cohorts. And remember, my auras work on me as well... :D Only because I didn't spend all my gold on just my sword. And I didn't take levels in Marshal. |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:49 PM | So THAT'S how many I had Crowley get trampled by. Oh, and consider sizing morphing weapons. They can become virtually any weapon you desire. |
| Dyne11-24-04, 11:50 PM | hmmmmmm..... but once i find out my cohorts, even if theres not many, would u like to go up against 30 or so raging loxos, because u killed only 1 of them If they were Evil Loxos, then I'd beat them anyway. :fight!: Anyway, we're not gonna be fighting against each other. We will be using our armies to support one another, for we serve the same cause. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:52 PM | If u want good magic item to buy, try render bait price: 36 thouandish allows u to bond grey renders= your cha bonus, as the special adoption thing in moster manual and they serve u and every thing, thats X number of cr 11 renders running around ahem DotDS with ur pooning charisma |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 11:53 PM | Mr. Grin Reaper you CAN NOT have loxo followers. The warrior levels given for followers are the total ECL, not the race plus those levels. You couldn't have any loxo followers because of the high LA, and even if you could, you'd have to pull them down to one hit die, and then my 70 hobgoblins would trounce them. So, I actually wouldn't care about 30 raging loxos, if you can even get that many. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:53 PM | sure-- ill get a +4 morphing sizing brilliant energy warhammer lol-- poonishment!!! |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 11:54 PM | But your character would profit the most from a morphing and sizing weapon, which would give you outstanding variety. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-24-04, 11:56 PM | Oh, and lets see how your ONE gray render would react if I shoved my freakishly powerful sword right up its :censored: ... Movin' on... |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:57 PM | lol-- so maybe im a dreamer... but if i could get 30 odd loxos! :D |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-24-04, 11:57 PM | no CotDS i was actually suggesting that u buy one..... |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 12:02 AM | No ****in' way am I given up my sword! Have you seen what that **** does?! Same goes for the armor, since it also gives me a +2 on my leadership score! And remember, since it is a Firebrand, it also has the flaming ability. Now, as you would say, that is poonish. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 12:04 AM | Oh darn, I seem to have lost my wep/armor enh. pricing sheet. would ne1 be so kind as to tell me the cost of +4 morphing sizing brilliant energy? |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 12:05 AM | very poonish, but when we ammass much riches, u should afford your self that |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 12:07 AM | Oh darn, I seem to have lost my wep/armor enh. pricing sheet. would ne1 be so kind as to tell me the cost of +4 morphing sizing brilliant energy? That's your whole 200,000 thousand right there! And its not even as good as my sword! :P |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 12:11 AM | and I just thought up as an alternative to loxo cohorts, antropomorphic elephants would work as well. hyper, i am hyper, hyper, hyper, hyper this is what happens when u combine a mcflurry and a hot caocoa late at night |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 12:12 AM | holy crap how much with no brilliant energy then.... :weep:  |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 12:15 AM | It'll cost you 72,000 GP still, though. Actually, since you're an elephant, why not antropomorphic mice? They could intimidate you! :P |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 12:23 AM | lol, but bedtime now c ya all, bye, so long |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 12:26 AM | Guess I've got the whole guild keep to myself (starts whistling as he systematically begins to steal all the silverwear) ... |
| Dyne11-25-04, 12:34 AM | Guess I've got the whole guild keep to myself (starts whistling as he systematically begins to steal all the silverwear) ... "Chosen, you better put that silverware down before I rip you in half." Guys, I need you to look something up for me. Can you hover with only an Average flying? |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 12:40 AM | In order to hover, you need either the hover feat or perfect manueverability. |
| Dyne11-25-04, 12:42 AM | In order to hover, you need either the hover feat or perfect manueverability. I THOUGHT so! Droga was trying to hover 10 ft. above me while he was attacking me with his claws. But, he can't hover! He only has Average maneuverability. Thanks, CotDS. |
| Dyne11-25-04, 02:21 AM | Helm Dundragon has been slain in battle. However, he left behind a son to take up the sword. I'm working out stats for Helm's son, I'll post them as soon as possible. |
| Dyne11-25-04, 02:49 AM | A man in a purple hooded cloak enters the chamber. He is carrying a corpse. The body is dressed in a purple cloak and white surcoat with the royal crest of Cormyr. The man lays down the corpse and raise his hood. "This is the body of Helm Dundragon, my father. He was honorably slain in battle against Droga. But do not let his death break you. My father would give his life a thousandfold to keep the Purple Dragons from breaking up. For, without you, the borders of Cormyr are undefended, and a terrible evil is allowed to reign freely. I will not allow that to happen. For I am Bren Dundragon, son of Helm, and I will take up my father's sword in his absence. I will not allow the forces of evil to exist unchecked." With that, his eyes swell with tears, and he weeps for the death of his father. For his entire life, he has had to be strong, to be hard, to endure all manner of hardships. But, try as he might, he could never harden his heart. If we have any Clerics in here, and you want to use Raise Dead on Helm, be my guest. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 03:57 AM | There is a a worrying lack of Clerics. I am field with Greif at the (lets hope not permanent) death of your father, He was an honerable man. I trust you will be taking up his mantle as head Knight? |
| Dyne11-25-04, 04:00 AM | I suggest you guys check out the first post from time to time. I add things and update it occasionally. I just updated it right now. |
| Dyne11-25-04, 04:04 AM | There is a a worrying lack of Clerics. I am field with Greif at the (lets hope not permanent) death of your father, He was an honerable man. I trust you will be taking up his mantle as head Knight? "It is my duty to take my father's place. I will not let him die in vain. When the time comes, Droga will suffer for his misdeeds." Bren places several large sacks of gold, platinum, and mythril on the table. This is the wealth my father left behind. 150,000 gold pieces in value. 50,000 will go to the men who lent him the money to cover his expenses in the battle. The other 100,000 gp will be used for the benefit of the Purple Dragons. Xen, you're a member, right? I don't think you're on the members list... nevermind. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 04:11 AM | Yes, im a member of the War Wizards Wing of the PDoC. Be wary Bren, I have heard proclomations of Droga's defeat befor. ALL have faild. |
| Dyne11-25-04, 04:15 AM | Yes, im a member of the War Wizards Wing of the PDoC. Be wary Bren, I have heard proclomations of Droga's defeat befor. ALL have faild. "You will find that I am not like the others. I am not as rash in my actions. I do not foolishly throw myself at my enemies without a good strategy. My father fought admirably, but he failed because one part of his plan was off-set by Droga's additions to his inventory." Bren is not outspoken. In fact, he is rather quiet and reserved. He prefers to not answer those who would argue with him, giving them the right to their opinion. However, if the issue to be argued is a critical issue that involves the lives of many, he will argue his point across to hell and back. |
| Demonfey11-25-04, 10:13 AM | Let me work some of my magic, then. {With that, he takes some remaining blood and begins a clone. He disappears, and then returns about an hour later with a fully formed clone.} It is ready for an inhabitant. Wow. Crowley could actually get along with your character. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 01:03 PM | Let me work some of my magic, then. {With that, he takes some remaining blood and begins a clone. | Demonfey11-25-04, 01:05 PM | To explain time, he went to a dimension with a fast temporal zone. |
| Holy_Man11-25-04, 01:58 PM | as i was looking over the previous posts I saw that you think that there is no chance that Dyne could win against you with his cohots. I dont think so chosen of the ds. you underestimate the power of the paladin class, with divine spells a paladin is pretty powerful, and with cohorts possibly even as strong as he is, he's probably got a fighting chance against you chosen |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 02:14 PM | Actually, you seriously underestimate marshalls and overestimate paladins. For one, a lot of his abilities such as smite evil would be useless against me, since I'm lawful good and none of my cohorts or followers are evil. Second, a lot of paladin spells are useful, but not only do they either come to late to be truly and overwhelmingly effective, but a lot of them are used against evil and chaos, which, once again, is useless against me. So is his swords holy ability. Then you have my auras, and when I'm using a major aura myself and all my folowers get a +6 bonus on the appropriate checks, including the hardy soldiers which would give all my troops (not me though, sadly) DR 6/-, and motivate attack, which gives them +6 to attack in melee. And my minor auras are still a +4. My character is also half-dragon, with a 6d8 breath weapon, immunity to fire, and, thanks to my sword, cold resistance 10. I told you that class was good when I showed it to you the other day. :D |
| Holy_Man11-25-04, 03:49 PM | hey, im looking in the forgotten realms campaign setting thing, where do i find what special abilities I get for worshipping a certain major diety |

You're level 11 right? So, you'd get +2 on all Major Aura abilities. For Major Auras, you don't add the Charisma mod, if that's what you were doing. By-the-way, I was gonna make my cohort a Marshal. Demonfey, is that clone for Bren, or who? EDIT: Again, on the "me vs. CotDS: who would win?" subject. My character is not just a Paladin, he has levels in Purple Dragon Knight, which gives him special abilities. Helm also had levels in Divine Champion, which would also be handy. |
| Holy_Man11-25-04, 04:12 PM | Hey, I also think the cotDS has a good chance against you, Dyne, Im pretty sure it would be an even match. On another subject, what class do you think i should be. Im leaning towards paladin. Also, dyne, what are the rules for the full blade? |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 04:14 PM | Oops, I was thinkin' that I added my charisma bonus to major auras as well. I'm still frikkin' powerful though. However, the point is moot, since we are both on the same side and have the same alignment. |
| turalisj11-25-04, 04:37 PM | cotds-want to have a friendly little match? we could have it right outside the purple dragon's castle. *pulls out his fullblade* |
| Holy_Man11-25-04, 04:41 PM | cotds-want to have a friendly little match? we could have it right outside the purple dragon's castle. *pulls out his fullblade* hey, how do u fight people, where do you go? and also, what race are you? |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-25-04, 04:53 PM | hey, im looking in the forgotten realms campaign setting thing, where do i find what special abilities I get for worshipping a certain major diety Happy Thanks Giving everyone. Hi there Holy Man Which major deity and what PC or PrC. Silmarien bows before the Holy Man, seeing that his heart is True. She says "The Shadow Lords haunt Realmspace with an Abomination. The Skygge Artifact corrupts the souls of the good irrevocably. This monstrosity is in metadimensional space. It is a giant, fanged skull, that may transmit power remotely to Skygge followers. The users of Shadow Weave cloak themselves in Shar's powers from the Void and with her Necromancy. The Half-Elves have Silverstarfire Lore - which is akin to Elven High Magic, but it is distinct. What Lore do you seek, Holy Man" OK - gotta go to work - but I'm stav, one of three GM's and please PM me or continue the discussion here. I'll attend to it later. Regards to you from Oz (not in Crocadile Dundee image) Stav |
| Holy_Man11-25-04, 04:56 PM | I am a follower of torm |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 05:24 PM | Turalisj: sure I'll fight, when? And I still can't get the stupid die-roller working! |

| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 05:36 PM | Is there some othe die roller we can use, cause the one we;re supposed to use doesn't work. |
| Holy_Man11-25-04, 06:11 PM | What page is the leadership description on in the dmg? |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 06:18 PM | Leadership is on page 106 of the DMG. |
| turalisj11-25-04, 06:31 PM | try the die roller again. oh, and my weapon is about as big as i am.............scary, isnt it? |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 07:07 PM | So is Holy Man's in our home campaign. I'll try it again. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 07:12 PM | Yo back on again..... |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 07:34 PM | I am so crazy, i think i may end up back where i started, a CG aasimar bard/virtuoso with tonnes of cohorts :invasion: :hoppingma :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 07:37 PM | We're against chaos, so no chaotic good, preferably. Any other good is fine. |
| turalisj11-25-04, 07:37 PM | @cotds- try filling out all the fields  |
| Droga11-25-04, 07:39 PM | I am so crazy, i think i may end up back where i started, a CG aasimar bard/virtuoso with tonnes of cohorts :invasion: :hoppingma :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: :fight!: I don't think anybody is gonna beat Orcy in the cohort/follower area... |
| turalisj11-25-04, 07:43 PM | We're against chaos, so no chaotic good, preferably. Any other good is fine. um, the skygge hunters are all chaotic good. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 07:45 PM | Yes, but the Purple Dragon Knights are Lawful. |
| Droga11-25-04, 07:46 PM | Heh, still calling yourself a skygge hunter? You wouldnt be able to kill an unconcious skygge :P |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 07:52 PM | Just so you know, Grin Reaper, you don'tneed to tell us when you're on. Thats what the green light is for. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 07:52 PM | yes, and i thought of the prefect way to accomidate that my assimar was a bard with virtuoso levels, was then converted to lawful, say by..... something and became a paladin and purple dragon knight this works b/c bards dont lose ablitys for becoming lawful, they just cant advance, and i could still advance in virtuoso, no alignment req there |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 07:54 PM | Oh well, I say im on any way, b/c i feel like it....... |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 08:02 PM | Grin Reaper, wanna' fight at the arena? Just practice, no kills, just KO. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 08:03 PM | as soon as i fix my char again lol sure |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-25-04, 08:16 PM | I'm currently making a backup character in case Keld gets killed in a fight sometime. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 08:24 PM | Do we have an artifact yet? |
| Dyne11-25-04, 08:25 PM | Helm. I don't remember anything saying that the clone had to be of someone ALIVE. From the SRD: To create the duplicate, you must have a piece of flesh (not hair, nails, scales, or the like) with a volume of at least 1 cubic inch that was taken from the original creature’s living body. I think that means that you would have needed to take a sample before he was slain. Oh well, I don't need two PC's for a single foundation. All my cohorts/followers would easily get into the hundreds. |
| turalisj11-25-04, 08:27 PM | as soon as i fix my char again lol sure you may have to wait until i'm done fighting him :D  :P |
| Dyne11-25-04, 08:29 PM | Do we have an artifact yet? Nope. It hasn't come up. The closest thing I've got is the sword "Justice", which was Helm's sword and is now Bren's. It's not that great now, only a +5 Holy Bastard Sword, but I'll add abilities to it as I gain wealth. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 08:32 PM | Dyne, I noticed you had a Soldier List, May I suggest creating a War Wizard List. If you do decide to do so, me and my three cohorts would go there, there on the statistics thread. Also, is it alright if a say my army is stationed here. It is as follows: 225 1st level Warriors 22 2nd level Warriors 12 3rd level Warriors 7 4th level Warriors 5 5th level Warriors 2 6th level Warriors (2 sorcs and a charismatic loremaster make this army this size) |
| Droga11-25-04, 08:38 PM | 1st level followers have to be an NPC class I think. Unless that changed or something... |
| Xen15511-25-04, 08:42 PM | I did not know that, where does the DMG say that? |
| Dyne11-25-04, 08:44 PM | I did not know that, where does the DMG say that? Under the Leadership feat, it says that 1st-level Followers must be either Warriors, Experts, or Commoners. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 08:45 PM | Thankyou, I shall alter my post accordingly. And about my war wizard idea? |
| Dyne11-25-04, 09:02 PM | Thankyou, I shall alter my post accordingly. And about my war wizard idea? But, how are your Followers War Wizards if they only have levels in Fighter? EDIT: I just got an idea. Have any of you heard of a War Wizard PrC? If none exists, I think we should make one up. EDIT2: BTW, Xen, War Wizards are still "soldiers". They just fight with spells instead of swords. I suppose I could put two sub-sections under Soldier Roster for Purple Dragons and War Wizards or something. EDIT3: Xen, I think only 1st-level Followers have to be either Warriors, Experts, or Commoners. Followers that are higher than 1st-level can be of any class (at least, that's what Orcy said). |
| Xen15511-25-04, 09:06 PM | No no no, that is just my military, the Only war wizards are my self and my cohort and his cohort and his cohort. Xen, Jokai, Dudone, and Talsue (who is, by the way, a non-combatant). |
| Dyne11-25-04, 09:07 PM | No no no, that is just my military, the Only war wizards are my self and my cohort and his cohort and his cohort. Xen, Jokai, Dudone, and Talsue (who is, by the way, a non-combatant). Not if Dyne joins (he IS afterall the Archmage of War). |
| Xen15511-25-04, 09:09 PM | Of course, and the Arch-Mage of law eargerly awaits his revivale, until then though these are the only War Wizards. |
| Dyne11-25-04, 09:11 PM | Of course, and the Arch-Mage of law eargerly awaits his revivale, until then though these are the only War Wizards. They are still part of the same organization as the other Purple Dragons. Unless, you claim that they are not members of this foundation. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 09:14 PM | No No, the War Wizards should just be a branch of the PDoC. They are (in my opinion) the same foundation. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 09:20 PM | Yes true war wizards are a faction of the orginization, and ive been wondering why no one did a war wizard PrC, which is a great idea! Oh and my character is up again, mostly (again) |
| Dyne11-25-04, 09:21 PM | No No, the War Wizards should just be a branch of the PDoC. They are (in my opinion) the same foundation. But they are still a branch of the Military of Cormyr. They are still Soldiers. I'll put in a sub-heading under the Soldier Roster for War Wizards. Your character as well as his cohorts will be put there, but the others will be classified under the other soldiers (since they are effectively no different). Currently, you are the leader of the War Wizards branch. EDIT: Xen, what are the levels and classes of your character and his cohorts? Also, all of your followers that are above 1st-level don't have to be NPC classes. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-25-04, 09:29 PM | well, any hoo, ive got stuff to do so bye... |
| Xen15511-25-04, 10:08 PM | But they are still a branch of the Military of Cormyr. They are still Soldiers. I'll put in a sub-heading under the Soldier Roster for War Wizards. Also, all of your followers that are above 1st-level don't have to be NPC classes. Chohorts: Jokai-13 Sorc Dudone- 11 Sorc Talsue-5 Wiz 5 Lore Master Excellent, ok My revised Military 225 1st level Warriors 22 2nd level Fighters 12 3rd level Fighters 7 4th level Fighters 5 5th level Fighters 2 6th level Fighters |
| Xen15511-25-04, 10:10 PM | Dyne, I didn't relize how many Cohorts you had, Im gonna make some more. Do you have the stats for all yours? |
| Dyne11-25-04, 10:11 PM | Chohorts: Jokai-14 Sorc Dudone-13 Sorc Talsue-5 Wiz 7 Lore Master Excellent, ok My revised Military 225 1st level Warriors 22 2nd level Fighters 12 3rd level Fighters 7 4th level Fighters 5 5th level Fighters 2 6th level Fighters I take it Jokai is your cohort, Dudone is Jokai's cohort, and Talsue is Dudone's cohort? Each one has to be at least 2 levels lower than the one above them. So, if you're level 15, your cohort cannot be higher than level 13, his cohort can't be higher than level 11, and his cohort can't be higher than level 9. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 10:22 PM | Is that in 3.5 because in 3.0 it hust states you cant have one greater than or equal to your level. |
| Dyne11-25-04, 10:24 PM | Is that in 3.5 because in 3.0 it hust states you cant have one greater than or equal to your level. From the 3.5 SRD: Cohort Level: The character can attract a cohort of up to this level. Regardless of a character’s Leadership score, he can only recruit a cohort who is two or more levels lower than himself. We're going by 3.5 rules for the IFWG, so the SRD overrules other sources that it conflicts with. Anyway, in both versions, the level of your cohort depends mainly on your Leadership score. Unless you had a Charisma of 20 something, you wouldn't be able to have a cohort of that level anyway. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 10:28 PM | Very well I shall lower my cohorts levels, my question still stands though, do you have stats for all your cohorts? |
| turalisj11-25-04, 10:32 PM | i have a 13th level ranger/marshal. he has a 11th level marshal/ranger cohort, and so on. in turn each of them control a diffrent outpost. |
| Dyne11-25-04, 10:35 PM | Very well I shall lower my cohorts levels, my question still stands though, do you have stats for all your cohorts? Yes. Their levels are posted on the Soldier Roster underneath Bren Dundragon (my PC). Dorn Tallstag: Marshal 8/Purple Dragon Knight 5 (Bren's cohort) Darvin Greycastle: Paladin 6/Fighter 2/Purple Dragon Knight 2 (Dorn's cohort) Evendur Amblecrown: Paladin 6/Purple Dragon Knight 2 (Darvin's cohort) Stedd Buckman: Paladin3/Cleric 3 (Evendur's cohort) Morn Evenwood: Wizard 4 (Stedd's cohort) I haven't totally finished all their stats, and their levels may change. |
| Xen15511-25-04, 10:37 PM | Ok, I've just decided to make a cohorts list. Joaki-14th Sorc Dudone-12th Sorc Talsue-5th Wiz, 5th Lore Master Magnulf-8th Wiz Piilis- 6th Rouge Agen- 4th Fighter (just remebered im 16th level) |
| Dyne11-25-04, 11:06 PM | Ok, I've just decided to make a cohorts list. Joaki-13th Sorc Dudone-11th Sorc Talsue-5th Wiz, 5th Lore Master Magnulf-8th Wiz Piilis- 6th Rouge Agen- 4th Fighter Pardon, but I think Talsue is supposed to be level 9, since his "master" is level 11. Magnulf, Piilis, and Agen would have to be adjusted accordingly, as well. All right, I'm gonna work on the Soldier Roster now.... EDIT: Xen, I just added a Scouts slot for your cohort Piilis. He will probably serve a special role in the Purple Dragons. |
| Dyne11-26-04, 01:42 AM | I want to get back to our original topic: Purple Dragon High Knight Prestige Class. Does anyone here have Annual Dragon Issue #4? If not, do you guys want to try to create our own version of this prestige class? P.S. CotDS, T'nyagah's cohort is level 8, when he is level 9. |
| Xen15511-26-04, 01:45 AM | I propose we create our own. |
| Xen15511-26-04, 03:28 AM | First of all, what kind of PRC are we attempting to make? |
| Holy_Man11-26-04, 10:35 AM | Cotds, I need you to role my hp, i cant dl anything, my hit die is d10, and role that 15 times plz, also, how do all of you people fight? |
| Dyne11-26-04, 12:01 PM | Cotds, I need you to role my hp, i cant dl anything, my hit die is d10, and role that 15 times plz, also, how do all of you people fight? For HP, we use averages, not die rolls, to make certain everything stays even. So, for a d10, that would either be 5 HP per level or 5.5 HP per level (I have to ask Sil about that). |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-26-04, 01:26 PM | P.S. CotDS, T'nyagah's cohort is level 8, when he is level 9. I'll have to work on that later, don't have time right now. I'm just checking the boards really fast before getting back to stuff. |
| Holy_Man11-26-04, 03:39 PM | gtg, b back by 7:30 |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 06:26 PM | An noble human with chiseled features, and expensive clothes waltz's in, with a large group of excited men and woman of many different races following, and the man says "I am varien, a noble servitor of my lord helm (he dosnt know helm is gone), I have been off on a mission with my followers and have come upon a strategy to defeat skyyge." |
| turalisj11-26-04, 08:02 PM | really? i was going to go straight at the weakest point of many, thier mind. oh, and my cohort's cohort is a giant eagle(he's a wood elf so that works) |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 08:21 PM | lol, same i was gonna invisibility and silence my self cast ambient song and fortissimo use bardic music facinate followed by a suggestion to drown himself or something and voila but even better i could suggest he put on a helm of opposite alignment |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 08:24 PM | ambient song causes bardic music to take on natural qualitys, like chirping of birds, etc. and fortissimo adds 2 to the dc of the affect and with all that my minimum dc is  37! :D for the facinate and suggestion and now i g2g... |
| Droga11-26-04, 10:02 PM | Yes... because you can use bardic music when you happen to be silenced? |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 10:04 PM | The stalking spell is much better. You are invisible, silenced, and untraceable via scent. |
| turalisj11-26-04, 10:06 PM | @droga-can you post a link to the skygge? |
| Droga11-26-04, 10:08 PM | No, because they arent posted. |
| turalisj11-26-04, 10:34 PM | then could you post them incase someone else wants to play as them? |
| Droga11-26-04, 10:54 PM | nope, I've been over this... they arent going to be posted. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 11:39 PM | no, I cant but u forgot about ambient song, I can turn natural sounds into bardic music effects |
| turalisj11-26-04, 11:40 PM | skygge slayer roster: 1st lvl rangers:48 2nd lvl rangers: 4(2 two weapon fighting styles, 2 ranged fighting styles) 3rd lvl rangers: 2(1 of each fighting style) 4th lvl rangers: 1 5th lvl rangers: 1 total:56 all of the skygge slayers have evil outsider as thier favored enemy. the reason i wanted to have 4th level rangers instead of 1st level ones is because the skygge slayers are supposed to be a strike team/mercanary group. owell. |
| Dyne11-26-04, 11:41 PM | no, I cant but u forgot about ambient song, I can turn natural sounds into bardic music effects I thought Silence dissipates all sound in the area of the spell. So, in the part where you were, you wouldn't be able to make ANY sound, whether it be by yourself or by clicking some rocks together. Well, since none of us have the Purple Dragon High Knight PrC, we should create our own. What do you guys think? |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 11:45 PM | Yes, but i wouldnt be making the sound, thats what ambient song does, birds, or crickets, or wind would be creating the effect |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 11:46 PM | and i agree, and as to the name, how about purple dragon general |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 11:47 PM | But don't you have to be able to cast to do that? |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 11:48 PM | i could silence myself after casting it...... lol |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 11:49 PM | or i could have a contigency set up for it |
| Dyne11-26-04, 11:50 PM | i could silence myself after casting it...... lol Mr_GrinReaper, Silence silences all sound within the area. It doesn't matter if it's by you. Even if a meteor were to strike the world in the area of the Silence spell, it wouldn't make a sound. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 11:51 PM | its a 15 ft radius, i would silence only myself, not the Skyyge, so he would still hear the bardic music |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-26-04, 11:53 PM | well i g2g, man i can never stay on the forums for a very long time well see ya |
| Dyne11-26-04, 11:54 PM | its a 15 ft radius, i would silence only myself, not the Skyyge, so he would still hear the bardic music SRD: Upon the casting of this spell, complete silence prevails in the affected area. All sound is stopped: Conversation is impossible, spells with verbal components cannot be cast, and no noise whatsoever issues from, enters, or passes through the area. So, unless you were tossing things 20 ft. away to try and make sound, the Skygge wouldn't here anything from within those 20 ft. EDIT: Actually, the area is 20 ft. EDIT2: I read through your plan. Suggestion gives a saving throw, correct? Well, I believe it would be pretty difficult to get him with it since all his saves are more than +20. |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 11:55 PM | He actually made a good point about it. He can make sounds like, oh, lets say the crowd be music. |
| Dyne11-27-04, 12:08 AM | Some interesting ideas. But, you better hope the Skygge doesn't get too close. Droga, for one, likes to get into melee. |
| turalisj11-27-04, 12:13 AM | hmm, i wonder how my character would fair against him....i have the best melee weapon you can get, the fullblade, and i have a great amount of ac. |
| Dyne11-27-04, 12:16 AM | hmm, i wonder how my character would fair against him....i have the best melee weapon you can get, the fullblade, and i have a great amount of ac. Turalisj, it would be interesting to have a match between Bren and your character. But, maybe some other time. It's getting pretty late here, so I'll have to go in a bit. |
| turalisj11-27-04, 12:17 AM | mybe tommarrow then? oh, and my fullblade does originally 2d10 damage because of its size. not something you want to mess around with. |
| Dyne11-27-04, 12:20 AM | mybe tommarrow then? oh, and my fullblade does originally 2d10 damage because of its size. not something you want to mess around with. How the? Turalisj, are you a member of the Purple Dragons? And I see that you haven't started a thread for the Skygge Slayers. Perhaps we could just combine them into this one thread? |
| turalisj11-27-04, 12:47 AM | the fullblade is a huge weapon,18 inches larger then the bastardsword, so you cant use it w/out proficiency, not even 2-handed. large creatures can wield it two handed, but with all the penalties an such. and i am thinking of changing the name of my group since the skygge slayers dont go after skygge specifically. |

How can you wield the weapon without being Huge size? |
| Demonfey11-27-04, 12:57 AM | There is the monkey grip feat. |
| Dyne11-27-04, 12:59 AM | There is the monkey grip feat. Wait, is it a Huge Bastard Sword? You could just take a Large Greatsword with Monkey Grip and get 2d6 damage without any penalty. A Huge Bastard Sword with Monkey Grip I believe gets 2d10 damage with a -2 penalty to attack. EDIT: A Large Great Sword does more damage than 2d6. I forget how many, I think 2d8 or something. EDIT2: A Large Great Sword does 3d6 damage. A Huge Bastard Sword does 3d8 damage. |
| turalisj11-27-04, 01:05 AM | its a huge exotic weapon. my character, turalisj, has weapon proficiency with it. he wields it with two hands, thus he doesnt have any shields. the weapon is from the arms and equipment guide. |
| Dyne11-27-04, 01:07 AM | its a huge exotic weapon. my character, turalisj, has weapon proficiency with it. he wields it with two hands, thus he doesnt have any shields. the weapon is from the arms and equipment guide. Hmmm. I have to get that book. For the PrC. What abilities do you think it would have? |
| turalisj11-27-04, 02:32 AM | have to has so and so levels of purple knight, must have a bab of atleast +11, be lwaful good, and have pledged eternal alligence to whoever rules over cormyr. |
| Dyne11-27-04, 03:14 PM | have to has so and so levels of purple knight, must have a bab of atleast +11, be lwaful good, and have pledged eternal alligence to whoever rules over cormyr. Probably should make it 5 level of Purple Dragon Knight, since they shouldn't be able to advance until they take all levels in the first PrC. Also, maybe some more Ride ranks, since the Purple Dragon Knight requires it and people from Cormyr are usually good at riding a horse. |
| Holy_Man11-27-04, 06:32 PM | Hey cotDS, do you want to have a practice fight round? Im ready for ya. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-27-04, 06:43 PM | @Holy Man Don't have time now, have to do stuff. As to the Purple Dragon High Knight, make it require the ability to use one of the Purple Dragon Knight abilities, and I would also say it should require the Leadership feat and at least a 18 leadership score. |
| Holy_Man11-27-04, 06:51 PM | Listen, everybody, Im not going to post my character really anymore, Im going to write him down on a Character sheet, but I will post him when the Player Statistics and character thread becomes sticky, and if any one asks me for my char, ill post a shorter version of it, also, is it ok if im a ghost? |
| Dyne11-28-04, 02:22 AM | Listen, everybody, Im not going to post my character really anymore, Im going to write him down on a Character sheet, but I will post him when the Player Statistics and character thread becomes sticky, and if any one asks me for my char, ill post a shorter version of it, also, is it ok if im a ghost? Why do you want to be a ghost? Anyway, if you want your character to be a ghost, then he can be. Guys, there is going to be a tournament at the Mountain Top Arena. 3 members from each foundations will battle it out in KO matches for a reward. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-28-04, 12:08 PM | I'm in if I can use my new character instead of Keld. I think I'm gonna' have Keld be an NPC, since my new one is better thought out. I'll do ,it either way, but I'd prefer my new guy. |
| Holy_Man11-28-04, 01:02 PM | Why do you want to be a ghost? Anyway, if you want your character to be a ghost, then he can be. I want to be a ghost for their extremely good abilities and it's almost impossible to kill one |
| Holy_Man11-28-04, 01:14 PM | Ill go in for that tournament if there is still a space open for me. |
| Holy_Man11-28-04, 08:32 PM | I am going to create a guild, I was just wondering, Dyne, if you could give me any information on how to make one, It will probably be a Paladins Guild. |
| Dyne11-28-04, 08:38 PM | I am going to create a guild, I was just wondering, Dyne, if you could give me any information on how to make one, It will probably be a Paladins Guild. Paladins Guild? I'm not sure if that's really necessary, since the Purple Dragons are basically a Paladins Guild. But, if you want to make a foundation of your own, just start a new thread. Put in whatever you want, including descriptive text about your stronghold or whatever. You could have a Members List and a Library for your creations if you want. |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 07:16 PM | Great. Another group to pester... |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-29-04, 07:26 PM | lol... hmmmmm.... and i re looked over my strategy and decided to scrap silence... and for the last time ambient song has nothing to do with me playing its birds singing or wind blowing, i dont have to do anything... and even though he has +20 or more on all his saves my minimium dc to save is 38 and thats if i roll a one but anyhoo............. whats up... I do agree with DotDC's class req. except maybe add a few ranks of ride, and the spirited charge feat, since thats building on the mounted combat feat requisite for the PDN PrC |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-29-04, 07:33 PM | But I do believe it should require the Leadership feat, since it is a general after all. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-29-04, 07:52 PM | yes i agreed with you on the leadership feat, and it should require the ability to use inspire courage or final stand as a class feature so you'd either have to be a purple dragon knight or a extremly specialized bard. ah and there should be a BAB req, like +11/+6/+1 |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-29-04, 07:55 PM | And since i dont have DMG, id rather not wait till this weekend to find out cohorts and followers, how many do i get if i have a leadership score of 26 (command armor, +10 cha mod, 14 HD) ty if u look it up but i dont care if u dont |
| turalisj11-29-04, 08:09 PM | that would give you 175 1st level recruits, 20 2nd lvl, 10 3rd lvl, 1 4th, 1 5th, and 1 6th level. |
| Droga11-29-04, 08:17 PM | Actually its... 135 level 1, 13 level 2, 7 level 3, 4 level 4, 2 level 5, and 2 level 6 followers. At least from the DMG is says that. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-29-04, 08:22 PM | Actually its... 135 level 1, 13 level 2, 7 level 3, 4 level 4, 2 level 5, and 2 level 6 followers. At least from the DMG is says that. Holy... :twitch:   :looloo: :OMG! :pint:  :uh-huh: |
| Droga11-29-04, 08:32 PM | Man... Orcy has 824 followers and cohorts... now THAT is insane man... |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 08:34 PM | Man... Orcy has 824 followers and cohorts... now THAT is insane man... :whatsthis :mymy:  :OMG! :OMG! :OMG! :twitch:  |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-29-04, 08:36 PM | Man... | Dyne11-29-04, 09:30 PM | Orcy has that many because he's an Orc Warlord, and his cohort's and Orc Warlord, and HIS cohort's an Orc Warlord, and so on. And Orc Warlords get double the number of followers. |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 09:57 PM | But still... |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-29-04, 10:39 PM | But still... Yeah... |
| Holy_Man11-30-04, 06:01 PM | Is it possible for a guild to die? I havent been able to go onto the guild because of other distractions, is My guild deleted? |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun11-30-04, 06:07 PM | Is it possible for a guild to die? I havent been able to go onto the guild because of other distractions, is My guild deleted? No, check the second page of the Guild House. If it isn't there, check the third page. Edit: I just saw it on the first page. |
| Dyne11-30-04, 06:12 PM | Is it possible for a guild to die? I havent been able to go onto the guild because of other distractions, is My guild deleted? Your guild is still on the first page, just a little bit down the list. Also, threads don't get deleted unless there is a serious violation. |
| turalisj11-30-04, 06:48 PM | arent any of you going to bet on me to win? :( |
| Dyne11-30-04, 07:50 PM | arent any of you going to bet on me to win? :( Sorry, Turalisj. Bren doesn't believe in gambling. Neither does Dyne. Aseir, the Shadow Adept, is more than happy to wager on a good match, but he would rather you lost (sorry, he is NE). Alak is a behind-the-scenes kind of guy, plus he can't go out in the sun (he's a vampire). |
| turalisj11-30-04, 07:54 PM | great....and now i can't even hit sssargoth... it's just as bad as when droga used the iron bands on you dyne. almost no way to fight back. |
| Dyne11-30-04, 07:56 PM | great....and now i can't even hit sssargoth... it's just as bad as when droga used the iron bands on you dyne. almost no way to fight back. I know, sucks. I can't really do anything about it, no matter how much I'd like to help. |
| Droga11-30-04, 10:52 PM | Does Turalisj complain everywhere when he loses? Is he going to change over to red dragon slayers now? Maybe he can finally get over it and start hunting something else he cant kill. |
| Mr_GrinReaper11-30-04, 11:02 PM | lol, yeah, not to be mean to him but he stood no chance against u.... and nor do i, unless i get my cohorts... |
| turalisj11-30-04, 11:14 PM | i woul've destroyed sssargoth if he stayed on the ground. atleast you stay where we can hit you. he just flits through the air. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun12-01-04, 06:51 PM | Yeah, which is seriously cheap. |
| Mr_GrinReaper12-01-04, 07:29 PM | true, but if he had done that to me i would have suggested that he land and stay on the ground. |
| Mr_GrinReaper12-01-04, 07:31 PM | CotDS check these variant base classes out they rock, and they are really well balanced and customizable. Ultimate Barbarian Ultimate Bard Ultimate Cleric Ultimate Druid Ultimate Fighter Ultimate Incarnate Ultimate Knight Ultimate Monk Ultimate Paladin Ultimate Ranger Ultimate Rogue Ultimate Scourge Ultimate Sorcerer Ultimate Wizard |
| turalisj12-01-04, 07:45 PM | i know what my next character is going to be! a 10th lvl ultimate rouge with 5 lvls of assasin! >=D |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-01-04, 07:47 PM | Orcy would suggest first posting the links to those classes on the metathread, so everyone can decide if they want them to be allowed. Since many people are already using the normal, unmodified class. |
| Mr_GrinReaper12-01-04, 07:59 PM | Will do Orcy, but i dont plan to use one, just was showing a friend. now i think i should just pmed them but o well |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun12-01-04, 08:00 PM | Sweet variants... |
| Demonfey12-01-04, 08:02 PM | Under the player thread would probably be best. |
| Demonfey12-01-04, 08:47 PM | Would anyone here care to join the Children of the Planes? I am trying to lead its revival. |
| Mr_GrinReaper12-01-04, 08:57 PM | sure, ill join... |
| Demonfey12-01-04, 09:01 PM | Great! Thanks, Mr. GrinReaper! |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun12-01-04, 09:23 PM | Me Love Variant Base Classes!! :D |
| Demonfey12-01-04, 09:39 PM | Turalisj, this would be good for you as well. |
| Dyne12-02-04, 05:21 PM | I know I'm rather behind, but what happened in the battle between Turalisj and Sssargoth? Who won? And Turalisj, I know it sucks, but losing is part of the learning experience. It gives you a chance to see what different style of fighting people use, and it gives you a chance to prepare for the next fight. For starters, you should give your character something to defend against flight. |
| Dyne12-02-04, 05:46 PM | Bren, the Knight of the Purple Dragon calls the Purple Dragons of Cormyr together for a meeting to discuss important business regarding the foundation. "Welcome Purple Dragons, I have something I need to talk with you about. It regards Rankings and Positions within the Purple Dragons. We need a Rankings and Positions standard to govern the way our foundation works and to solidify the Chain of Command. Here are my thoughts so far:" Rankings: These will largely be based on the Ranking System employed by the United States Army (since I am most familliar with it). The system we will use will be slightly different because our army functions slightly differently than the U.S. Army. These will be the ranks we will employ: Private (or Soldier or Infantry if you prefer a different name) Corporal Sergeant Master Sergeant Lieutenant Captain The Big Cheese (AKA Bren Dundragon, the leader) I have not completely thought up what to call the top rank. It could either be General, Colonel, The Purple Dragon, The Knight of the Purple Dragon, or something else. These different ranks also fit into the Positions within the Organization of the army. Organization: Squad Platoon Company Battalion (or The Army, as in the entire foundation's military) Each Position fits into the Organization: Positions: Squad Leader Platoon Sergeant Platoon Leader Lieutenant Company Commander Battalion Commander (or General or The Leader of the Army, basically The Big Cheese) Here's how the whole thing fits together: Squad: Made up of 5 men 4 Soldiers (Privates) 1 Squad Leader (Corporal) Platoon: 4 Squads (20 men) 1 Platoon Sergeant (Sergeant) 1 Platoon Leader (Master Sergeant) Total of 22 men (or some other number) Company: 4 Platoons 1 Lieutenant (Lieutenant) 1 Company Commander (Captain) Total of 90 men (or some other number) The way it's organized is that each group has one leader and one second-in-command, who takes charge in the absence of the leader. I figure that since each of us has around 90 men, we would all be Company Commanders (Captain rank). All the Companies would make up the Battalion, the entire army. Bren, being the leader of the foundation, would be the Battalion Commander. All of us would be equal, except Bren has to coordinate the battles as a general. What do you guys think? I need to take a look at the numbers of followers/cohorts you all have to make it totally fit. Basically, the higher-level characters hold the higher ranks. So, your 1st cohort would probably be your Lieutenant. |
| Mr_GrinReaper12-02-04, 06:13 PM | Sounds like a good system. I like it. It looks to work to me. |
| Dyne12-02-04, 11:23 PM | Sounds like a good system. I like it. It looks to work to me. If it works for you, then it works for me, Commander. I might make a few changes to what the actual words are, but that is roughly what the Ranking System will be. Each of us is a Company Commander (Captain Rank), so we're all equal. As Threadkeeper, I'm responsible as a leader, so Bren (my character) will be a sort of Battalion Commander, same as Company Commander but responsible for the kind of stuff a general would do. But, I'm really no higher than the rest of you. |
| turalisj12-02-04, 11:42 PM | well, i'm just a commander of 1/100th of the whole shadow hunter organization(thats right, i changed the name and now i am working on a prc) |
| Dyne12-02-04, 11:45 PM | Turalisj, are you a member here? |
| Dyne12-04-04, 03:39 PM | "Purple Dragons, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU! I will not allow our forces to become idle when the tides of evil are growing. Everyone, fall into formation now. I will now call role to see who is here. When I call your name, please answer. Warstrike, Keld Xen Holy_Man Mr_Grinreaper Turalisj" (sorry Holy_Man and Mr_Grinreaper, I don't know what your characters' names are) |

Turalisj, I believe I've asked before. Are you actually a member of this foundation? I don't think you've ever said that you wanted to join. Are the Shadow Hunters an ally of the Purple Dragons, or are they a branch of the Purple Dragons, or what? |
| turalisj12-05-04, 08:27 PM | the shadow hunters are allies of the purple dragons. i act as a represenative between the shadow hunters and the purple dragons. what the high council tells me, i tell the dragons. what i hear here, i tell the high council. so in truth the answer to q#1 is both, yes and no. |

In a nutshell, you have either taken or inherited your Foundation environment. Write a history for how you came by it - either by battle or by whatever means sits well with you. You may draw diagrams at home, and spec out the rooms as if it's a real place. Bring it to life with your imagination. I've also posted guidelines for the defences and fortifications that may apply. | Dyne12-08-04, 11:10 PM | Since when do Lawful Good deities strike a deal with an evil being? Nevermind. All right, guys, we need to prepare our men for mass combat and to fortify our keep. Xen is already working on the fortifications, and he'll get back to us when he's done. But, we need to get ready for mass combat. Most of us have close to a hundred or more men under our command. It is planned that, in the Guild Wars, we will use all or most of our men in individual battles. To prevent from making hundreds of die rolls, we will organize men into groups that function as individual units, making a single attack roll for five or more men. I have an idea that will cut back on the number of die rolls. But, we need to organize our men into groups of five (for squads) and groups of 4 squads for platoons, multiple platoons for our entire company (each of us is in command of a company) as I outlined above. The organization posted above will cut back on die rolls, making a single die roll for a squad (or even a platoon) of men. I'll post exactly how it will work as soon as I get everything worked out. Also, I'll post how I organized my company (as a reference), and exactly how my formations attack and act during combat. |

| Dyne12-11-04, 03:40 PM | All right guys, I have a new project for y'all. I'm developing a mass combat system to make war in D&D much easier to handle while keeping the masses of armies and the complexities and strategy of D&D Combat. Any suggestions you might have, please add them. My idea will work sorta like the Combine Fire tactic in the Star Wars Roleplaying, in which a group of attackers combine their attack into a single attack roll. But, I want to change it so that the Supporting Attackers add a bonus to Attack and Damage based on their stats, so that higher level Supporting Attackers will be better than lower level Supporting Attackers. Now, to do this would be rather complex and difficult to come up with, so I need your input. So far, here's what I have: Groups of men, up to 5 in number (could possibly do away with the maximum) make a single attack roll against one foe. One of the men is chosen as the Main Attacker, and the others are the Supporting Attackers. The Main Attacker directs the attack, and the success or failure mainly depends on him. The Supporting Attackers support the Main Attacker, giving certain bonuses to his attack. The bonus the Supporting Attackers give to the Main Attacker depends on the relationship between their attack and damage bonuses to the Main Attacker's attack and damage bonuses. Supporting Attacker's Bonus to Attack Bonus Main Attacker Same as Main Attacker: +3 1 less than Main Attacker: +2 2 less than Main Attacker: +1 More than 3 less than Main Attacker: Cannot support the Main Attacker The bonus a Supporter grants to the Main Attacker can not exceed his actual attack bonus. If the attack roll (with all the bonuses added on from the Supporters) succeeds, roll damage as if the Main Attacker succeeded in the attack. For every 5 points by which the attack roll surpasses the AC of the target, one of the Supporting Attackers deals damage. For Example: Two groups of 5 men are ready to do battle. Each side is made up of average humans (all abilities at 10) with 1 level in Warrior (BAB +1). One side, armed with shortbows, attacks the other. 1 man is chosen as the Main Attacker, and the other 4 are Supporters. Since they all have the same attack bonus (+1), they would normally add +3 to the attack, but each Supporter only adds +1 because they bonus they grant can't exceed their regular attack bonus (+1). The Main Attacker rolls for an attack, adding on +5 to the roll (+1 from his attack bonus, +4 from each of the 4 Supporters). The roll comes up an 11, with a total of 16, beating their target's AC (10) by 6 points. The attacker rolls for damage, but since the attack roll beat the AC by at least 5 points, two of the 5 men are considered to have done damage. So, 2d6 (the damage of 2 shortbows) are rolled for damage against the man they were attacking. Questions? Comments? |
| Mr_GrinReaper12-11-04, 10:18 PM | Seems to work, only, when acs are higher then ten, it would become very difficult for multitudes of enemies to hit eachother. Methinks a unit should be treated as a single creature, and par examplar take size penaltys on ac.. I dunno, also I was wondering that if some high level characters are in a squad, how would there AC factor in, and stuff like that. |

I dunno, also I was wondering that if some high level characters are in a squad, how would there AC factor in, and stuff like that. Well, it was meant to deal with low-level followers fightin en-mass. But, at higher levels, it seems much easier to hit your enemies as I recall.... The way it works is for the whole squad to focus their attack on one person. If you want to change it so that it's squad-attacking-squad, rather than squad-attacking-individual, I can work on that. |

| Dyne12-14-04, 06:50 PM | I've overlooked something. The Dark Tide asked to join. If he's still interested, he is more than welcome. Here's what we've got for the PrC so far: have to has so and so levels of purple knight, must have a bab of atleast +11, be lwaful good, and have pledged eternal alligence to whoever rules over cormyr. As to the Purple Dragon High Knight, make it require the ability to use one of the Purple Dragon Knight abilities, and I would also say it should require the Leadership feat and at least a 18 leadership score. I do agree with DotDC's class req. except maybe add a few ranks of ride, and the spirited charge feat, since thats building on the mounted combat feat requisite for the PDN PrC But I do believe it should require the Leadership feat, since it is a general after all. yes i agreed with you on the leadership feat, and it should require the ability to use inspire courage or final stand as a class feature so you'd either have to be a purple dragon knight or a extremly specialized bard. ah and there should be a BAB req, like +11/+6/+1 Some comments from before. I think it's agreed that it has to have a Base Attack Bonus requirement, as well as possibly a Leadership and Ride requirement. I still don't exactly know what it would do. Also, I recently got another idea for a PrC. It would be something like the Dragon Disciple, but the abilities would be more focused toward the abilities of the Purple Dragon, and the wings and claws could be more like a divine ability that the character could turn on or off at will. It would be something like Chosen of the Purple Dragon or Disciple of the Purple Dragon or something similar. I have no idea what to call it. |
| Dyne12-14-04, 06:51 PM | The sound of alarms snap you to attention. In a secluded part of your domain 4 of your servants have been found dead. There is a note. It reads "Pay or Pay". I don't know how the Half-Elves are faring, but the Guild of Pure Good is our main concern." The Guild of Ultimate Evil is attacking the Guild of Pure Good and the Half-Elven Foundation. I think the Half-Elven Foundation is doing okay so far, but the Guild of Pure Good has virtually NO ONE defending them. So, get down to the Guild of Pure Good as soon as possible. I'll see if I can hold them off with my men (extremely doubtful). |

| Dyne12-14-04, 10:51 PM | Eat the GoUE's brains! :D Exactly. My men are setting up outside the GoPG HQ. They will be no match for the GoUE forces, however, since they just released a swarm of creatures, each one with a CR higher than our ECL's (15). "Gather your equipment and onwards to the Guild of Pure Good! We cannot let our allies fall to the forces of Evil!" The Company of men under Bren's command marches in formation toward the battle at the Guild of Pure Good. "This is it men!" he shouts to them. "This is what we've been training for!" he then starts assigning each Platoon their duties. "All men, ready your bows. We'll try to strike at them from range before we must close in to melee. Second Platoon, ready your spears. You will use them in case the enemy closes to melee range. First Platoon, ready your swords and your steel shields. If the fight comes to melee, you will stand in front of the spearmen and fight with your blades in the name of Cormyr. Now onward, men! Hasten to the battlefield ahead!" We have never come up with a name for our castle. I was gonna make it be Castle Crag from the FRCS, but we can name it whatever you guys want. Man, if my gaming group were here, they would just name it Helm's Deep. It seems like they always rip-off Lord of the Rings names. But, it kinda would make sense, since Helm is revered in Cormyr, and he is also Bren's patron deity. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun12-14-04, 11:33 PM | Just to remind you, Keld is actually not a part of the GoPG. I'm still working on my character who is. He should be ready in only a few minutes if I work fast enough. He's almost done. But Keld will help, since he is allied wht the GoPG. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun12-14-04, 11:48 PM | Throthgar Hammerforge is being stuck onto the characters thread as we speak. By the way, as to the PrC, I think it should have to be any Lawful Non-evil |
| Dyne12-15-04, 08:03 PM | Chosen, you could just use Keld for both guilds. Updated the first post. We now have 3 current projects: a Purple Dragon High Knight PrC, a Favored of the Purple Dragon PrC, and a discussion of our artifact. The Purple Dragon High Knight would be an expansion on the Purple Dragon Knight Prestige Class, so it should have similar requirements and abilities. The Favored of the Purple Dragon Prestige Class would be similar to the Dragon Disciple PrC, but it's abilities would be focused on the Purple Dragon (rather than another dragon type), and it's claws/wings would be abilities that the character could enable/disable at will. So, they could suddenly sprout wings or grow claws if the situation called for them, but they could disable them so that they wouldn't seem like a freak to society. There might be limits to how long they can use their claws and/or wings. For the artifact, I had an idea of it being a massive sword that can either summon a massive creature or shrink to suit the wielder of the sword. |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun12-15-04, 08:34 PM | Well, since all of the other Guilds' Artifact seem to be massively powerful, how about a small purple amulet that summons the Purple Dragon  . Afterall, it is supposed to be a real creature :D . |
| Dyne12-16-04, 02:07 PM | Well, since all of the other Guilds' Artifact seem to be massively powerful, how about a small purple amulet that summons the Purple Dragon  . Afterall, it is supposed to be a real creature :D . I was thinking more of a massively powerful sword that summons a Titan. Hey, maybe we can do BOTH. A massively powerful sword that summons a humanoid Purple Dragon-like creature, like a dragoon (humanoid with dragon powers and wings). |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun12-16-04, 09:04 PM | Or it could imbue the wielder with some of the powers of the Purple Dragon  ! |
| Dyne12-17-04, 12:40 PM | Or it could imbue the wielder with some of the powers of the Purple Dragon  ! Or, that too. It IS an artifact, it could be capable of all sorts of things. So: Massive Sword (Longsword, Bastard Sword, or Greatsword) Summons Massive Dragoon to wield it. Probably has stats that are a combination of a Titan and a Dragon. Can shrink to the size of whoever wishes to wield it (if they meet the requirements) Wielder must be Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral Grants the wielder certain powers (possibly the ability to transform into a Dragoon) I don't know exactly what size the sword should be, or what size the creature should be. It could be either Huge, Gargantuan, or Collossal. The sword should also be intelligent. I think I've already got some ideas for it. I'll post them as soon as I've got them worked out. EDIT: Do any of you guys know what the stats for the Purple Dragon are? EDIT2: I realized there really are no stats for the Purple Dragon, since it's mostly a mythical creature. |

| Dyne12-18-04, 12:51 AM | Ooh. I want one! Nope. Mine. But, I could make you a super powerful non-artifact sword using regular item creation rules. It is quite possible to create items with about the power of an artifact, but they get pretty expensive. I was toying with a concept for a sword for Bren, and it came out pretty powerful, but it's market price was over 300,000 gp. |

| Dyne12-18-04, 01:03 AM | I can do it, too, but hey, you CAN'T go wrong with a dragoon. Yep. I used to have a game in which all the main characters could turn into dragoons. It had an awesome combat system, too. But, it turned out that the storyline was crap. That, and one of my favorite characters was killed off. :( |

| Dyne12-18-04, 01:56 PM | Could always chat with Nightscreamer and have him do it in what... a day? Man's nuts... Well, I slapped together all the abilities within a few minutes. But, Nightscreamer could probably figure out a way to make it better and cheaper. He goes nuts with items and Prestige Classes. It's good to have him around at the Merchants Guild. :D |
| Chosen of the Dark Sun12-20-04, 02:28 PM | Alright, I'm back. My computer hasn't been working lately. |
| Dyne12-20-04, 03:27 PM | Alright, I'm back. My computer hasn't been working lately. The boards were briefly shut down, so you didn't miss anything. The Inter-Foundation War Games were shut down by WizO Cat. So, it's back to the old drawing board. We were working on a Prestige Class for the Purple Dragons. I'm not sure what to call it, but it was originally gonna be called the Purple Dragon High Knight (even though that name is already taken by a PrC in Dragon Magazine). I think the PrC should have abilities that affect the character's soldiers, and on a large scale than the regular Purple Dragon Knight. The PrC should be able to inspire whole armies of men at a time. We might base the abilities somewhat on the Purple Dragon Knight, but with the abilities expanded to cover a larger area. |
| Dyne12-25-04, 03:34 AM | Chosen, let's keep this foundation alive. We need to work on the PrC. But, I have to go right now. Must sleep. |
| redhase12-26-04, 04:56 PM | Where is your Red Knight, the corymr knights have Red Knights as their war leaders. they plan all activaties of war and defence of hall. the main skills for them are knowledge war, knowledge tatacs, knowledge fighting, knowledge personal fighting and so on. leadership skills are part of their skills, with everthing doing with leadership and how to fight a war, how to plan a war. wheres your Red knight? he or she should be leading the wards placment and defences of your hall, and all battles to be fought. Where's your Red Knight? |
| Dyne12-26-04, 05:29 PM | Red Knight? |
| redhase12-26-04, 05:48 PM | yes they are the ones who are incharge of the squads, the company and the are the generals of the amrys. even in charge of the war wizards, they are a war wazards them self but get extra bonus for leadership feats, and war stragery, and tatacits. you need a red knight to plan all the hall defenices and war plans. in the realms the red knights are the ones who make the plans and study for nothing but that how to wage war and defenence, small and large. leadership, tatitics, how to fight a war is their specality. where's yours. |
| Lady Rolindin12-26-04, 10:59 PM | If you don't know how to make a Red Kinght for the defence of the castle I can make one, and a Red Knight battle wizard. their not hard to make, just need to use a lot of skills on leadership and Knoweldge of war, battle tatacis, small and large, for knights and war wizards. they even have their own spells for battle tatices, and war spells they use. |
| Dyne12-26-04, 11:02 PM | I'm guessing that they're either from a previous edition, or they're from Player's Guide to Faerun, since I've never heard of them. You're welcome to make one. We could always use new members. |
| Lady Rolindin12-26-04, 11:11 PM | their in the new players fr bookas as a speacilty class and they have been in the dragon mafazine both the Red knight and the red Knight war wizard. the difference is a Red Knight is in charge of the purple knight depending on thier rank, some might be in charge of a sqaud or a company of knights. a Red Knight war wizard is ib charge of the war wizards and how to best use their spells and what spells to use when and where. they are a knight and wizard at the same time, but they specalize in the war wizards. The Red kinght is just for the planning of all tatics and defences of a castle, from squad to company and can be a genaeral of a army, or a squad leader of the knights. do you have the dragon magazines on the Red knights? |
| Dyne12-26-04, 11:14 PM | Nope. I don't have any Dragon magazines, actually. |
| Lady Rolindin12-26-04, 11:59 PM | You might want to have all the npc, in a line or in the same room. I read all the back posts from other guilds and you might have some of Redhase's fey're allready here in the castle. I will have to arange a time for all of us to be on at the same time and have Coren look at all of the staff, remember that all the fey're can change shape at will. And their is a spell to hide aligment, so if Redhase has eye's all over the place they they could be here allready. I call redhase and get a time to go over the staff of the castle, if she has one or more then they will be spoted. |

I like watching things, and possibly learning new tricks. In any case, redhase is still trying to form a total attack plan, but keeps forgetting that reality has been altered. |
| redhase12-27-04, 12:34 AM | I realiz this, the difference is a new player is in the game and has taken some steps. go ahead and have your witch hunt lr, it won't matter. the castle has weaknesses that have been found. You still need a Red Knight to manage the castle affairs, and so forth. Demonfry stay and watch, this should be fun to watch. remember anything that can happen in a game can be done here, this is a game, and things have been done by me. |

| Lady Rolindin12-27-04, 10:45 PM | You can go to the public libary and request copies all the way back to 2002, in our area the 2001 and back have been taken of the list. You can order ever copy and if I remember right the war wizard and the Red Knight are in the 2003 issues, , and red knight war wizard class, just can't remeber which one's. |
| Lady Rolindin12-28-04, 03:38 PM | Dyne if you go to candlekeep.com they have a list of the Corymr knights and the Corymr war wizards, how their organized and the titles of each rank. seperat list for each. how many in each and everthing you will need to know about the stucture of the organization. how they work, and more. |

| Dyne12-28-04, 08:22 PM | Company Swordmajor is a position filled in each Company. Since our foundation is much larger than a single company (28 men, according to the site), each of us would have at least one Company Swordmajor under our command. Also, I have no second command. I don't want to give the impression that I, or any other person, am above anyone else. Since I founded this guild, I'm responsible for it as a leader. But, other than that, we are each absolutely and completely equal. My rank would be Lord High Marshal. Since we only have one fortress, and I'm the leader of that fortress, I also hold the position of Lord Commander of this garrison. If we were to build any other fortresses, another person would be appointed as Lord Commander of each fortress. By-the-way, for anyone who's interested, here's (http://www.candlekeep.com/library/articles/cormyrforcesa.htm#A1) a link to the page with all the Purple Dragon info. |
| Lady Rolindin12-28-04, 09:51 PM | then since I'm making a Red Knight War Wizard ,then how many the war wizards are needed. heres some stats form the war wizard down load I have. the size of the castle is to me as big as Eveningstar they have 200, , small er castle have 150 to name Waymoot, Wheelon, 200 or 150 war wizards. first level chaiman Emperius second level First Assistants of the leader third level Notable Wizard of Corymr Fourth level Helping magic hand of Cormyr the war wizards have a leader with 4 peolpe under them, and 4 people under the top four, the ones under the leaders woould be the balation, then comapny, then squad. Squad 4 Company 6 sq 24, 4 com 16( when you decide how many comapanies their are 4 or 6. how many companies in a balition. Iwould change the numbers on the site to reflect, every company and how many each. if you have 6 companies then you have 24 war wizards per batiliation. we might need just 1 balatition that shold be 6 by the numbers, and two paltons for eack comapny 28X6=168, =+ you, and war wizards. War wizards, 8 per company, 6 companies, =48 + war wizard leader, +leader, 4 under leader= (53 war wizards total). 53+168= (total 221 every knigh and war wizard) thats a not counting the npc servents all of them. I would think to run a castle that size a guess of 100 to 250 npc servants. I can look in my books to see how many accourding to size and numbers of knights. that should be close. clonsdering that every knight has a page, an armor, and more, every knight has at least 5 to 10 servents below him helping him. we should limit the knights servants to 1 or 2 because more than that, to me adds up to a lot of knight servants. Even the knight npc would have to have knight servants. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-28-04, 09:59 PM | Hi there Lady Rondilin It's good to see you gettin' active. I have to say, that your game products are just fantastic. *looks at Dyne* Dyne - can you bring me up to speed with a summary post of what's happening here. I like the look of it, by the way. regards stav |
| Lady Rolindin12-28-04, 10:46 PM | september 2002 knights need for npc's they are; Animal handler page smith squire flag barrer for each knight. I want 2 for my red knight/war wizard page(someone I could train to be a red knight) and smith, the restof the other players will have to tell you how many to add for them in the npc count. once you know that then you can add them up and then all the other npc's cooks, cook helpers, kitchen help, butchers, bakers, sheep hearders, smiths, smiths helpers, courtier's,heralds, servants, maids, buttlers, farmers if you want help I can look up how many npc's would be be in a castle with 6 companies. to me it's sounds like a medium size castle we have here, close to large. and the surrounding villages and towns who support the castle. those npc's to count to. my guess number for all of it is 3,500 to 5,000 tatal, everone counted for, then make a list of them all. |
| Dyne12-28-04, 10:57 PM | @Silmarien: Well, Lady Rolindin introduced a site to us that has material on the Purple Dragons of Cormyr. Right now, I guess we're processing the material and figuring out what we'll use, and how we'll use it. |
| Dyne12-28-04, 11:01 PM | You might want to have all the npc, in a line or in the same room. I read all the back posts from other guilds and you might have some of Redhase's fey're allready here in the castle. I call redhase and get a time to go over the staff of the castle, if she has one or more then they will be spoted. Whoa, just noticed this post. First off, we're still trying to figure out exactly what we're gonna do with our foundation. I don't want to deal with anything in-game when we still have yet to solidify even who our men are. For starters, my main character may go through a huge change before the IFWG starts up again (if it even does). This means that he may be a totally different person, with totally different stats. |
| Lady Rolindin12-28-04, 11:05 PM | that's ok, I know aboput the level adjustments and its hurts to take off two levels. As for the rest all of us should work on the npc's so we have a count. I know i have made castles with leaders and all of it before, a lot of poeple to support a castle. I posted the paladan's and knights requirements for npc's Who are the other memebers so a count of their npc's can be made up. I want 2 not the whole complement of npc's. You would have the most being in charge of the site and the over lord. I will have to bring in my red Knight as 13 level for level adjustment. so a 4th level knight and a 9th level war wizard. |
| Dyne12-28-04, 11:34 PM | Wait, I still have never heard of that Level Adjustment. It's definitely not in my Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, and it doesn't seem that anyone else has heard about it besides you and redhase. I would DEFINITELY like some clarification before I start taking levels off of my characters. I'm not taking any levels off until I see the LA with my own eyes. (sorry, I'm stubborn like that) And, the number of NPC's that we have will be dependent solely on our Leadership score. Unless, of course, you guys want to hire men out of your own pocket. (but, then again, we still never figured out how time passes, so it'd be pretty hard to pay men on a daily basis) |
| Lady Rolindin12-28-04, 11:49 PM | remembered for 2e, ok this is what I wpould like to see for the purple knights a computer map of the castle and the area, so I caould get a view of it, we could have aventures out siode the castle in our own area if we had a map to view. that would be great to see what it looks likes and the sorrounding area. |
| Dyne12-29-04, 12:51 AM | So, the LA was from 2e? I thought it might be something like that. As far as a map of the castle and the surrounding area, we have to wait until Xen gets back. He was working on a big, awesome castle for us, and he would have a map all drawn out. As soon as he presents it, we can work out the details of the surrounding area. [Sigh] Where did everyone go? Xen's gone, Chosen's gone, MrGrinreaper's gone, Holy_Man's gone. I think we're the only two who are here right now. I suppose we better wait until everyone gets back before we make any major decisions. But, I suppose we can discuss things. For the location of the castle, I was thinking it could either be on the border, acting as a line of defense against enemies. Or, probably better, it could be a garrison outside the capital city, serving as the main defense of the capital. We could possibly pool our funds and construct other fortresses to protect our borders. Lord Commanders could be appointed for each fortress. If we build enough of them, we could each have our own fort under our command (or possibly multiple forts). Also, I'm not certain about using the ranking system. It sounds interesting, and I suppose I could just force myself to memorize the thing, but it would be simpler to just use U.S. Army ranks and positions. Besides, we might have to come up with our own structure that would work with how many men we have, what types of men we have, etc. |

| Dyne12-29-04, 01:03 AM | Well, if you don't already know, the Dungeon Masters Foundation was closed down and moved to EN World. The thread is now quite large, and growing by the day. Lady Rolindin introduced material about the Purple Dragons from a site that gives specific details, such as their ranks, structure, that kind of thing. And we're trying to figure out generally where our castle is placed. Actually, it'd be better if you just read the posts above you. I don't think there are too many of them. |

| Dyne12-29-04, 06:34 PM | I'm coming up with 87 hp, not 106. At least, that's using averages (and the first HD maxed out). Unless you rolled them up on an online die roller, in which case there should be a link to the results. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-31-04, 12:05 AM | I haven't checked the HP, and those details (e.g. # ranks in skills, etc), but I've read through the concept, and approve of the materials. I think the combination of spells and fighting makes it an attractive character and will look forwards to seeing how they play out. regards stav PS - please post at the Poll thread, if you get a chance. Regards stav |
| Lady Rolindin12-31-04, 12:18 AM | Red knight cleric is in the dragon,I have seen the red knight war wizard in the war wizard varent class in one of the dragon mag can't find it but still looking I did find the red knight cleric and used what it said purple kinght 5 levels then 10 levels for cleric. so many dragons to go throught still. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-31-04, 12:28 AM | I've got all the old editions of Dragon here (they're 20 years old) if you need anything looked up, let me know. Regards stav |
| Lady Rolindin12-31-04, 05:35 PM | I know it's there, the war wizards and varients, red knight/war wizard is somewhere between the years 99 to 04 issues, I have all the issues starting from the first isssue to, and I loved the dragon men, those are fun to make. the hef could use some dragon men and so could the corymr knights, even if just in statue form to guard the halls and acative when needed. Thats reminds me I need instay a Red Falcon (red Knights) worship center in the castle. are the devin ranks the one's that a paladan or cleric uses. like a cleric gets. At 10 level cleric red knight he gets, 5 for the war specality cleric spells and 2 for padadin level. devin ranks are confusion me. |
| Lady Rolindin12-31-04, 10:44 PM | I don't know if any one is still working in the giuld, but if you are I have just posted some new paladan spell's on the counsel of arcmages libary, and you can use them for your paladans. levels 1 to 4. really good ones. |
| Mr_GrinReaper01-04-05, 09:30 PM | whoa, alot of goings on since I posted last, lol i know this is late, but welcome the the pdn's Lady Rolandin. 16 pages!, last i posted it was at 10 pages, well, im back on an active again so yeah... |
| Demonfey01-04-05, 09:44 PM | whoa, alot of goings on since I posted last, lol i know this is late, but welcome the the pdn's Lady Rolandin. 16 pages!, last i posted it was at 10 pages, well, im back on an active again so yeah... Care to help Cazic's human bard (some type of good, I believe-she was a half celestial before a curse turned her human) find and free her parents from two prisons? It's going on at the GoPG, and Crowley is helping. Crowley has retired from the GoUE, by the way. |
| Xen15501-04-05, 09:57 PM | As of right now the Purple Dragons are leaderless Helm has left this world permanently. As head of the War Wizards I will take leadership until the Purple Dragons can vote on a new Leader. So I send a summons to all Members of the Purlple Dragons Of Cormyr! Elect a new leader. We need a new official leader. My char Xen can't be becuase the Royal Mage can not lead the actual Knights permanently. With Dyne gone who will take up the mantel or even intends to remain a member of the PDoC? |
| Lady Rolindin01-04-05, 11:00 PM | My Red Knight War Wizard, is the tatatcion of the group and doesn't want to be in charge of the whole thing. just the tataction for the knighs. we need to find out who is still here, if we are the only two then a round table leadership, make descions togehter. once we know if we need a round table approach then we can go on with business. we should have a round table group then one can be the leader and the rest can give their opion and decide together. is your charater a regular war wizard, no varient class like red knight. |
| Lady Rolindin01-04-05, 11:06 PM | I have a lot of war spells posted on the counsel of archmages libary, your war wizard being a specilist of war spells wound know some of these. |
| Xen15501-05-05, 12:11 AM | No im pretty much a straight up wiz, the PDoC dont know about the hole Verse Master thing, and Im just the Head War Wizard not a war wizard if you catch my meaning. But i agree lets give it a couple o days and if no one responds we will go from their. |
| Lady Rolindin01-05-05, 12:19 AM | did you go to candlekeep.cpm and look up the war wizards, they get bonus. do you know your title then as head war wizard. Chairman Emperius is the name of the title, and I would hold the second in command as the tataction for the war wizards. |
| Xen15501-05-05, 12:30 AM | I guess we are both working of differing information Lady. And no I've not had the pleasure of going to that particular source site. What do you base most of you info on. I get mine from the latest Forgotten Realms books. |
| Lady Rolindin01-05-05, 12:53 AM | whick books, it would be good to see somthing in print about the war wizards, besides dragon magizines and other sorcess. this I don't know about the books. |
| Xen15501-05-05, 01:01 AM | Really, the forgotten realms books written by Greenwood, Salvator, Byers? They are books written about characters in Forgotten Realms (the series name). If your intrested Lady, go here--> FR Book List (http://www.geocities.com/dragonfyrez/realms/booklist.htm) |
| Lady Rolindin01-05-05, 03:18 PM | i've read most of the novels by them and have them. A source theat Orcy the green wonder can look up, the pn;y one's I've found are in the dragons magazines and at candlekeep .com. the wotc hasen't even put the red knights in any of their books as a temple as yet, only the dragon magazine has so far. it would be nice to see fr print a book on the classes and varient classes. all in one book, somthing like the fr classes of the realms. the candlekeep.com talks about the war wizard and the different levels of training they go through. the only source i've found on them, besides dragon magazine's. not even the 2e goes into the war wizards and how their made as a class. |
| Mr_GrinReaper01-23-05, 10:27 AM | hmmmm... well if you really want something similar to the idea of the war wizard, in complete arcane there is the warmage. and also, if you want to be more fighter oriented be a fighter/sorc(or wiz) and go into the spellsword prc from complete warrior. But that does suck that they havn't made a Prc of that already. sorry if this has already been said, I haven't been able to access the internet for a long time for reasons beyond my control but im back now... |
| Kingside_Bishop01-24-05, 03:15 AM | You find a blank note attached to the front door of your guildhouse... blank, except for three symbols... Upon examination, there appears to be a message written in ink visible only to the arcane eye... -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- ךּבֿסּ The Shadow's Breath and Blade The Contract TermsHerein lie the terms that all patrons of the Assassin's Guild must agree to when contracting a task. All contracts are considered binding by the Assassin's Guild. The contracting guild agrees to pay the Assassin’s Guild an amount determined by the Assassin’s Guild, which will be disclosed before the pact is made, and which will be paid upon completion of the contract. Half of this amount is kept by the Assassin’s Guild, while the other half is paid directly to the assassin performing the task. The Assassin’s Guild agrees to perform the agreed upon task during the month specified by the contracting guild. If a month is not specified, the Assassin’s Guild will perform the task within three months. The contracting guild may request a specific assassin to perform the task, but this increases the cost of the task, administered by increasing the cost Multiplier of the contract by one. In the event that the Assassin’s Guild does not complete the task, the contracting guild receives a single reduction in the cost of one future contract, administered by reducing the cost Multiplier of said contract by one. If a party does not fulfill its contract obligations (by not paying the Assassin's Guild the agreed upon amount), they are subject to full persecution by the Assassin's Guild. The Price GuideThe Assassin’s Guild requires payment for its services. The cost of this payment will vary depending on the difficulty of the agreed upon task. Following is a guide for the pricing of assignments. Assignments are classified into three distinct groups. Each group has a corresponding Base Price and a set of possible Mulitpliers. To find the cost of a potential task, multiply the Base Cost by the total Multipliers. A task always costs at least as much as the Base Price, regardless of Mulitipliers.Espionage:Base Cost: 5,000 gp Multipliers: +1 per article of information contracted for, if information is specific +1 per 2 months of assignment, if assignment is on-going +1 per 3 members below 10 assigned guild has +1 per 5 ranks of Sense Motive assigned guild's Guild Master hasSabotage:Base Cost: 7,500 gp Multipliers:+1 per target item, holding, etc. if target(s) are specific +1 per month of assignment, if assignment is on going +1 per 3 members above 3 assigned guild has +1 per 5 ranks of Spot/Listen (whichever is higher) target guild's Guildmaster has +1 if target item, holding, etc. is protected from dimensional travelAssassination:Base Cost: 10,000 gp Mulitipliers: +1 per 2 levels of the target above 13 +1 per 5 ranks of Spot/Listen (whichever is higher) target has +1 per 5 points of Fortitude Save bonus beyond +5 target has. +1 per 5 points of Will Save bonus beyond +5 target has. +1 if target is protected from dimensional travel +3 if target is immune to critical hitsContracting an AssassinTo contract an assassin for the performance of a task, an individual (acting on his own or representing a guild) must contact the Guildmaster of the Assassin's Guild in a private communication detailing the nature of the proposed contract. The Guildmaster will then respond to the contracting individual in a similarly private communication, detailing the price of the contract. If the contracting affirms the contract through a final communication, the Guildmaster will then dispatch an assassin of his choosing to perform the contracted task. A party may request a specific assassin whose work they know, but this increases the price of the contract. Because the name of the assassin performing a task is never given to the contracting party, they must describe any taks that the specific assassin has done to contract for that assassin. -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- |
| Dyne11-27-05, 11:02 PM | :bump: I like the Purple Dragons of Cormyr too much to let this guild die. It might be a good time to start a new thread, though. On another note, since the Purple Dragons are based in Faerun, I wonder if the GM's would permit for a guild to be stationed in a plane other than Tyranor. Maybe even make districts for other planes? Maybe that's expecting too much. |
| baron_redscale12-11-05, 09:59 PM | Long Live the Steel Regent and the Infant King Azoun V!! I would be honored to join this guild. I pledge my sword and my life to the defence of Cormyr & Cormyr's intrests |
| Dyne12-12-05, 12:50 AM | A man in highly polished plate armor rides up on a magnificent steed to greet you. "I am glad to see I am not the only one loyal to the throne of Cormyr. The forces of darkness grow and threaten the peace of the land. The time is ripe for new heroes to emerge to meet the foe on the battlefield." This thread is a little outdated, though. The new one is here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=543612). |
