The Samurai have been the supreme order of warriors since their creation. We as Samurai adhere to the Bushido and dare nt stray from its teachings. We in The Samurai Foundation want to uphold the honor, teachings, and existance of all kinds of Samurai. All races of beings and clans of Samurai are able to join this elite order.

If you want to join, just ask and you will be added to the members list. Also, post your custom Samurai base classes, prestige classes, feats, skills, weapons, and anything else related to the Samurai. even if you aren't willing to join The Samurai Foundation, you can still post your creations and ideas.

When you join, all I ask you to do is to be active, submit ideas and/or criticism about the Samurai, and put Member of The Samurai Foundation into your signature with The Samurai Foundation linked to this part of the Foundation.

Last, but certainly not least, is the topic about role-playing. Roleplay is always encouraged in The Samurai Foundation and is somewhat essential to create and sustain the mood of a Samurai environment. When you roleplay, just put it in red so that we do not get all mixed up.

And as the Shogun of The Samurai Foundation, I say welcome to all of the Samurai out there and join today.

The Shogun looks around the guild hall and sees no one. He is in faith that some eager Samurai, Ronin, or even a Shinobi will come through the door, but for now, he goes back to to cleaning his katana and armor which have been in his family for hundreds of years.

A samurai enters the building. He is dressed in armor that has seen better days. It is obvious he has seen and lived through many battles. I'am ronin. I will not join your house, for i may disgrace it. But if you allow it i will visit once in a while.

Well, don't want to become a member. But i find the samurai interesting. So i will probably post here once in a while. So hope you consider me a welcome guest.:D

This will, of course, likely spawn a Ninja foundation which will spawn a Monk Foundation, which will spawn all manner of foundations that likely fit under a neat heading like: Foundation of the Orient, or Oriental Organization, or Asian Alliance. I was considering starting such a thread, myself, as my tastes tend to run that direction more than any other.

The funny thing is, that everytime I include a feudal Japan type society in my games they are almost invariably made up of kender.

The Shogun gets up out of his seat and looks sternly at the ronin and says: "You say that you may disgrace me and my house, but I see honor and possibilities inside you. If you wish not to join, so be it. You can, however, stay as long as you like." With that said, the Shogun turns turns around to go back to cleaning his swords.

And on the comment made that this would spawn other oriental clans, I don't think so. There is already a Shinobi/Ninja clan...and now there is a samurai clan, so I think that all of the Oriental groups have been covered. Also, you would NEVER see a Samurai and Shinobi getting along whatsoever because as everyone knows, the Ninja and Samurai are devout enemies. the Samurai feel that the Ninja and Shinobi are dishonorable for their stealth tactics and assassinations for money.

I thank you for the kind offer. My reasons for not joining are my own. But my past haunts me everywhere i go. So it would follow me even here. I do not want to repair kindness with problems. But let me make my special tea, so we can share it. He unpacks his backpack and takes out some little paperbags a kettle and two cupps and a little stone heating oven.

The Shogun picks up the cup of tea and graciously thanks the Ronin. The Shogun takes a sip and puts the cup down as he notices two newcomers enter the guild hall through the giant red ironwood doors. The Shogun asks the newcomers to sit down and relax.

if you want to join, just PM me

Kender!

Bring on the Orient!

From the Shadows - there is a subtle stirring - but no sight nor sound of humanoids. Only a sense of Presence...

Except for Monks, Chinese Generals, Marsh Bandits, Mongol Horsemen, Taoist Sorcerers, Strategists, and who knows how many other groups. Japan is not the be all/end all of the Orient.

Also, you would NEVER see a Samurai and Shinobi getting along whatsoever because as everyone knows, the Ninja and Samurai are devout enemies.

Many of them, like the famous Hattori Hanzo (http://www.samurai-archives.com/hanzo.html) were prized retainers and bodyguards. And they kept fairly amicable ties to various samurai.

I must go now. To deal with my past. If it's possible i will return so we can share more tea. He bows and leaves

So what did you think of The Last Samurai?
It was an entertaining movie. It was beautiful filmed. Nice countey pictures (was it filmed in Japan or New Zealand or somewhere else).
Found that the Japanese actor played good and convincing. Cruise i found not so good.

I thought The Last Samurai was awesome. I loved the final battle scene, even though all of the samurai were wiped out. The only thing I didn't like was that they made the emperor look like Michael Jackson. :nonono:

I thought that Cruises character should died with all the samurai.
But is certainly was a good movie. I liked it.

I have returned. One of the ghost of my past will no longer haunt me in this lifetime. I shall make some more tea.

The Shogun looks up as though a new opportunity has arisen.

I know this foundation is quite new, but I have gone along with Tenzhi's advice and my friend has created a Foundation of the Orient. The url is: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=268388 so anyone interested go to the new foundation. I will talk with the Shinobi clan soon to get them to also come over. Let's hope this new foundation does A LOT better. Again...I'm sorry for the short notice.
