Before everything, Desire; to meet this need, Secrecy. For this, we are Gathered. ───══════─── ───═══════─── ───═══════─── ───═══════─── ───═══════─── ───═══════─── Guild Leadership Score: The Guild House This is for GM and Guild member use ONLY!!! Ground floor: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/ATXwingkid/groundfloor.jpg 1:This room is a large tavern with the loud music and rowdy drinking that accompanies the riot. Upon entering the room on your right is a desk cut into the wall about waist height. A man at the desk asks you politely to leave any weapons you have on you with him. (To make it less likely to have drunken brawls end in blood shed. If they are too reluctant to give up their weapons they are allowed to keep them, or are asked to leave.) At the far side of the room is a long bar with stools for customers to sit on. In the SW corner of the tavern is a raised pedestal for bards to tell stories or sing songs for the entire tavern to see. The staircase in the NW corner of the room leads up to Room 6 on the second floor. 2: In this room is where the clerk will store weapons and along the walls are weapons racks with parchments so the clerk can write a description of what the person looks like to better be able to return them their weapons. There are 3 jugs of fine brandy for the clerks to sip while they work. The door in the North end of this room opens into a break room for the clerks. This is also used to store some of the finer wines on two different racks. 3:This is the kitchen. There are two cooks on duty to make the meals for the people in the tavern. At the east end of the room is a door leading to the storage area for foods and other cooking supplies. At the center of the room is a large oven. 4:This is a small storage room that the cooks use to store cooking supplies. 5:Both of the secret doors leading to this room are extremely hard to find (DC 35 search check). But in this room is nothing but three vats of brandy. There is also a secret trap door in this room also very hard to find (DC 35 search). This Trap door leads to room 29 on B1. Second Floor: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/ATXwingkid/secondfloor.jpg 6: These are plain halls leading to the rooms on for guests on the first floor. All the doors leading to rooms have Average locks (open lock DC 25) as does the double doors leading to the second floor balcony. The stairway in the NW corner of the floor leads down to room 1 on the first floor and the stairway in the SW corner of the floor leads up to the third floor to room 22. 7-20:These rooms are basic bedroom suits. They have a bed for two, And either a cabinet or a desk for them to put their things. These rooms only have basic accommodations. 21:This wooden balcony, it over looks the surrounding towns area. There are support pillars every 15 ft along the edge. The edge of the balcony has a wooden railing with certain decorative twirls of iron casting. Third Floor: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/ATXwingkid/thirdfloor.jpg 22:This elaborately decorated hallway leads to the rooms of the higher paying inn residences. Every door leading to a room on this floor has a Good lock (DC 30 open lock). The stairway in the SW corner of this floor leads to room 6 on the second floor. The double door leading out to the third story balcony has an average lock on it. 23-27:These elaborate suits are for the higher paying customers that chose to spend a night in the inn. All the rooms contain 2 beds suitable for 2 people each. And other accommodations such as but not limited to: desks, reading material, cabinets and so forth. 28:The third floor balcony is made of wood and has pillars along the edge every 15 ft that attach to the roofing. The ironwork bars of the railing are twisted and decorative. First Basement: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/ATXwingkid/B1copy.jpg 29:The red X on the square in the NE corner of this room corresponds to the exit of the secret trap door in room 5. This room is dusty and old. It seems like nothing ever comes down here except for the families of small rodents. There are old vats of wine. One is even broken open and leaking onto the floor. The trap door in the SE corner of this room is very difficult to find requiring a DC 35 search check. It leads to room Second Basement: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/ATXwingkid/nowcopy.jpg 30:The red X in this room corresponds to the trap door entrance from room 29.The secret door in the Northern side of the room is hidden very well (DC 35 search). If you enter the secret door see room 32. Also this room has no light sores and is pitch black. The doors on the Western side of the room are iron double doors. 31:This hallway leads into a large room; the whole area is pitch black. From this point on the different colored squares correspond to different traps. The Dragon figure in the Center of the room is an Ironwyrm. After combat it returns to that spot to wait for the next people to enter the room. All the spaces under the Ironwyrm are red traps. The hallway leading into the large room begins with a 10 ft by 10ft falling ceiling trap; this is represented by the Blue dot. After the ceiling falls it rises again automatically in 10 minutes. All of the secret doors require a Dc 35 search check to find. 32:This winding hall of unworked stone has large doors at the end of each hall. The halls are pitch black unless some source of light is used or some type of darkvision. Immediately beyond two of the large wooden doors there are glowing symbols of death on the wall. All of the secret doors are made of stone and have a DC 35 search check to find. At the end of the winding hallway it begins to get narrower requiring three DC 15 escape artist checks to squeeze all the way through. After the narrow area it widens into a cavern type opening that seems to be unfinished with some broken scaffolding and other mining materials scattered across the floor. The floor uses the light rubble effect and increases the DC of balance or tumble checks by 2. 33:This U-shaped room has no visible entrance or exits and is lit by an eerie green glow of the everburning torches on the walls.. Every entrance or exit to this room is a secret door requiring a DC 35 search check and they all close on their own one round after being opened. If they are blocked by some physical object the door will remain open and attempt to close again a round later. This deals no damage to objects in the way. It is not a magical affect but rather the clever engineering of the tunnel to create a draft to close the doors. The trap door on the floor leads to the guild house and requires a DC 35 search http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/ATXwingkid/key2.jpgcheck to be found. This trap door is made of stone to match the floor and will not open until the assassin's key is used. On the far wall of the room three bowls lie on an alter, over each of the bowls is one word: Desire, Secrecy, and community respectively from left to right. They are written on the wall in a combination of languages: Draconic, Undercommon, and common respectively. Under the trapdoor is a ladder leading down 20 ft to the floor of the third basement. After staying open for 1 rounds (6 seconds) the trap door closes again and must be opened once again with the assassin's key. It can be opened and closed from underneath normally. Third Basement: 34:This is the main hall to the guild house and leads to many rooms; including the courtyard and two of the fighting training areas. In the northeastern corner of the hall lies an Everful Basin. This enchanted basin always has 6 gallons of water in it, no matter how many times it might be dipped into. In the southern hall right near the training ground lies a ten-foot in diameter platform with the motif of a shield and swords. When a living creature steps on this platform it is immediately subject to the affect of a heal spell and healed 90 hp. Torches lining the walls every 20 ft light these hallways. Everful Basin: Stronghold Builder’s Guidebook p. 76. Cost: 4,500gp Platform of Healing: Stronghold Builder’s Guidebook p. 81 Cost: 30,000gp 35 and 36:These open areas in the guild house are made for combat training. The ground is slightly padded to allow for opponents to be thrown down and not suffer injury on the hard stone floor. 37:This luxury dining hall can seat up to 16 people. The food is cooked in the attached room at the western end of the dinning room. The room is adorned with artwork and exotic poisonous plants. The long table is enchanted to protect the people who eat off of it. Padded dummies lined with powder, bells, or blades hang from the ceiling or on ropes and pulleys, allowing rogues to practice picking pockets and balancing in unusual positions. Dozens of locks of various quality levels are forged into the wall; some may spring needle or gas traps-harmless except to their ego. Walls of various difficulties allow climbing practice as well. 40:This room is used for storage of magical items, including potions, scrolls, and some wondrous items. This code of honor is seen as a very serious thing and any member of the guild who violates its bearing may be subject to the full prosecution of their other guild members. No member of the Guild may strike out against another without justifiable reason. If no justifiable reason excites then the attacker will face death by the hands of the other members. The attacking member is to become one of the top priorities of all free agents. Members already in a mission are not to leave this mission to hunt the attacking person unless it fits into their mission and the free members can still be pulled from the hunt to complete missions. If a member is ever attacked then all free agents are to hunt down the one(s) who attacked the member and kill that person(s). Members already in a mission are not to leave this mission to hunt the attacking person(s) unless it fits into their mission and the free members can still be pulled from the hunt to complete missions. If a contract is ever put out for a member of the guild then the person(s) who made the requested kill is to be killed. All free agents are to hunt down the one(s) who requested the kill and kill that person(s). Members already in a mission are not to leave this mission to hunt the attacking person(s) unless it fits into their mission and the free members can still be pulled from the hunt to complete missions. The corpses of those killed because of the Code are to be placed in an open area for all to see as an example. No evidence is to be left that could openly trace the corpse(s) back to the guild. As well no reason is to be left explaining why the person(s) was killed, just the corpse(s). Alll Guild contracts are split as follows; 70% of the contract along with full spoils exempt from those included in the contract goes to the assassin or assassins that performed the contract. 20% of the contract is even split and distributed to all other members of the guild. 10% of the contract price goes to the guild treasury for security and other various guild agendas. No assassin may accept any contract with out first gaining approval by the guildmaster. Any contract even if it is a person contract approved by the guildmaster is subject to the proper distribution among guildmembers and the treasury. Any member of the guild violating this rule is subject to a trial by the Assassin Council. The Contract Terms Herein lie the terms that all patrons of the Assassin's Guild must agree to when contracting a task. All contracts are verbal agreements only, but are considered binding by the Assassin's Guild. The contracting guild agrees to pay the Assassin's Guild an amount determined by the Assassin's Guild, which will be disclosed before the pact is made, and which will be paid upon completion of the contract. Half of this amount is kept by the Assassin's Guild, while the other half is paid directly to the assassin performing the task. The Assassin's Guild agrees to perform the agreed upon task during the month specified by the contracting guild. If a month is not specified, the Assassin's Guild will perform the task within three months. The contracting guild may request a specific assassin to perform the task, but this increases the cost of the job, administered by increasing the cost Multiplier of the contract by one. In the event that the Assassin's Guild does not complete the task, the contracting guild receives a single reduction in the cost of one future contract, administered by reducing the cost Multiplier of said contract by one. If a party does not fulfill its contract obligations (by not paying the Assassin's Guild the agreed upon amount), they are subject to full persecution by the Assassin's Guild. The Price GuideThe Assassin's Guild requires payment for its services. The cost of this payment will vary depending on the difficulty of the agreed upon task. Following is a guide for the pricing of assignments. Assignments are classified into three distinct groups. Each group has a corresponding Base Price and a set of possible Mulitpliers. To find the cost of a potential task, multiply the Base Cost by the total Multipliers. A task always costs at least as much as the Base Price, regardless of Mulitipliers. Espionage:Base Cost: 5,000 gp Multipliers: +1 per article of information contracted for, if information is specific +1 per 2 months of assignment, if assignment is on-going +1 per 3 members below 10 assigned guild has +1 per 5 ranks of Sense Motive assigned guild's Guild Master hasSabotage:Base Cost: 7,500 gp Multipliers:+1 per target item, holding, etc. if target(s) are specific +1 per month of assignment, if assignment is on going +1 per 3 members above 3 assigned guild has +1 per 5 ranks of Spot/Listen (whichever is higher) target guild's Guildmaster has +1 if target item, holding, etc. is protected from dimensional travelAssassination:Base Cost: 10,000 gp Mulitipliers: +1 per 2 levels of the target above 13 +1 per 5 ranks of Spot/Listen (whichever is higher) target has +1 per 5 points of Fortitude Save bonus beyond +5 target has. +1 per 5 points of Will Save bonus beyond +5 target has. +1 if target is protected from dimensional travel +3 if target is immune to critical hits Contracting an AssassinTo contract an assassin for the performance of a task, an individual (acting on his own or representing a guild) must contact the Guildmaster of the Assassin's Guild in a private communication detailing the nature of the proposed contract. The Guildmaster will then respond to the contracting individual in a similarly private communication, detailing the price of the contract. If the contracting affirms the contract through a final communication, the Guildmaster will then dispatch an assassin of his choosing to perform the contracted task. A party may request a specific assassin whose work they know, but this increases the price of the contract. Because the name of the assassin performing a task is never given to the contracting party, they must describe any taks that the specific assassin has done to contract for that assassin. Becoming an AssassinTo become an assassin, an applicant must locate the guild and show himself to the Guildmaster and any members present. By doing this, and surviving, the applicant has proven his worth and is considered a member of The Shadow's Breath and Blade. To become a member of this guild, you do not need to participate in the Guild Wars. If you don't want to participate in the Guild Wars, just post in-character and discuss the general assassin topics we'll be discussing. Also, finding the guild is just roleplaying -- just post here, and consider yourself a member! In order to participate in the Guild Wars aspect of this guild, first create an appropriate character using these rules (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5132815), then post your character to this thread (http://www.wizards.com/leaving.asp?url=http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=360911&origin=), using this template (http://www.wizards.com/leaving.asp?url=http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5132753&postcount=3&origin=) to fill out the info. Then, send a PM to this person (http://boards1.wizards.com/member.php?userid=328700), containing a link to your posted character. To put a link in your PM that leads to your character's post: First post your character, using the process listed above. In the upper right hand corner of your post, you'll see a little white number (indicating which post number you are on the thread). Click on this number. Copy the URL in the address bar of the page that loads. Then, write your PM. When writing the PM, click the "Insert Hyperlink" button on the toolbar -- it's right there to the left of the Bold, Italic, etc. It looks like a world with a chain link. On the following prompt, type the name of your character. Then press "OK." On the next prompt, paste the URL that you copied earlier. Then press "OK." Now send the PM!We look forward to welcoming all worthy applicants into our ranks... The Assassins' Oasis You step through the veil leading into "The Oasis" and are immediately assaulted by the smells of dozens upon dozens of flowering bushes. Looking around, you see quite an array of what are, presumably, extremely lethal plants. Redflower leaves The tiny red flowers of this plant look and smell like a sunset. When the leaves are crushed together and prepared in a tea or the crushed leaves are eaten they are known to greatly improve hand-to-eye coordination. Initial Effect: None Secondary Effect: As a move-equivalent action, the user may focus his attention upon a particular creature. If he follows that action with an attack against the creature, he gains a +4 competence bonus on the attck roll. This ability lasts 10 minutes. Side Effects: None Overdose: Taking a second dose before the first has worn off causes the user to be nauseated for 1d4 X 10 minutes. Addiction: Low Craft DC: 27 BoVD p. 43 Black Lotus Extract On this plant are large pedaled deep blue-violet flowers. Their edges seem to have small spines on them and the flower smells faintly of a walnut. These plants ten to grow near small and stagnaent swamplands and are known for their use as extremly letal poisons. Type: Contact DC 20 Initial Damage: 3d6 Con Secondary Damage: 3d6 Con Craft DC: 35 DMG p. 297 and Complete Adventurer p. 98 Sassone Leaf ResidueThe Sassone plant is a fern type bush that has many small leaves. The shrub is relitively small and tends to creep along the ground then suddenly grow upwards and strange or alkward angles. When the small leaves of this plant and mixed with water then strained out the tea they produce is somewhat sticky and becomes and toxic residue when dried. Type: Contact DC 16 Initial Damage: 2d12 Hp Secondary Damage: 1d6 Con Craft DC: 20 DMG p. 297 and Complete Adventurer p. 98 Terinav RootThis plant is a fan like tropical desert shrub. It usually grows near small bodies of water in an oasis or other warm desert climate. It grows rapidly and is similar to the aloe plant. When the roots of this plant are mixed with water they form paste that inhibits a persons ability to control their body. When the leaves ar mixed with water it forms a sticky liquid that causes Euphoria and often is used by clerics to help wounded soldiers in war they cannot save to ease their pain in their last moments. Type: Injury DC 16 Initial Damage: Dazed (euphoric) Secondary Damage: 2d6 Int Craft DC: 20 Arms and Equiptment Guide p. 37 Oruighen (“Phantomdust”)This drug is made by refining rare cacti found in the alkaline sands of Azulduth, the Lake of Salt. It is a gray, fine-grained dust normally carried in small paper envelopes. It can temporarily blind and disable anyone unfortunate enough to inhale a pinch, and is popular with rogues and assassins who want a way to quickly discourage those who interfere with their work. Phantomdust is normally employed by casting a pinch in an opponent’s face. Treat this as a standard action, melee touch attack; if the attack is successful, the target must make his fortitude save or suffer the effects. If the attack misses, the dose dissipates harmlessly. Multipul doses of oruighen have no additional effect on the victim until the effects from the first dose wear off. Type: inhaled DC 14 Initial Effect: The victim is blinded for 2d4 minutes and suffers from an extremely painful stinging in the nostrils and eyes. They burrow into the soil and will suck on the roots of other plants liek a parasite. Similarly, when harmed with this plants poison it is often decribed and a choking or constricting sensation. This guild is largely centered around the Inter Foundation Games -- but we're all huge fans of assassins... after all, this is an Assassin's Guild. So, to keep ourselves occupied, we run contests for the creation of some new assassin item, spell, weapon, etc. The winner gets an in-game prize and the recognition of his peers. Here's a list, with link provided, to the contests we've run so far... Best Original Trap (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5552035&postcount=581) Best Original Weapon (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5618547&postcount=813) Best Original Spell (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5700100&postcount=978) There's always a new contest going on. If you want to participate, just post to the thread, asking what this week's contest is, and we'll let you know! When the members in the hall see you, they nod your direction, a clear invitation to join the conversation...ךּבֿסּ Desire, Secrecy, Community |

| TwinSwordStyle05-03-05, 08:55 PM | heheh, alright! New thread! woot! This means the games will be startin up soon. Wonderful :evillaugh |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-03-05, 09:02 PM | yeah im up dating the main page to have the poisons i have in the guild. the ones with the sblocks are the ones ive finished with. but ive got to finish up the guild house 2 rooms left!!! woot. then ill post it with full pictures and all, and have everythign we need liek the guild score and such but it might take a week or two to fully update this page, its pretty intense and hard to do. so much HTML or what not on the thing. it gets hard to read. once we start doing jobs, after each persons name shoudl i make an s block with their credientials like finished jobs and such? any one think thats a good idea? we have time to think and ive got a bunch of work to do with this main page so ill get on it. |
| Wilds05-03-05, 10:37 PM | the s-blocks would be cool. LKike number of completed missions or somethign liek that or even cryptically. Like "number of sheep hanged over south gate" |
| Dyne05-03-05, 10:41 PM | Sblocks won't work for me. :( |
| gabrion05-03-05, 10:43 PM | Alright, a new thread! I think it would be cool to have the info by our characters, but keep in mind that prudent individuals may be able to use that along with the report of the most recent death to determine who the assassin was. Of course I don't really mind since the best they can do is figure it out out of game, but just though I would mention it. |
| Cazic05-03-05, 10:55 PM | Think is amoung my first tries in making items so there are a few blanks that need to be filled. Also did the items have to have a story with them? I couldn't remember. Assassin’s Canvas You look about the room and see wondrous paintings all about. These painting seem almost surreal in their beauty, sorrow, pain, love, and horror. As you look at them you feel as if they are looking back. As if some part of it is alive and you can feel it wants to be freed. The Assassin’s Canvas is in appearance a normal canvas of varying sizes. When first made there are no distinguishing marks on it, but this lies of its true power. All canvases are linked to a weapon of some kind. This weapon is key to the power of the canvas. The canvas is a self painting soul trapping object. When a canvas is activated it will paint a picture upon itself. This picture is a depiction of a mission being carried out by the person wielding the linked weapon. The picture is abstract and unless the viewer knows of the mission itself then they would be unable to tell what it truly depicts. The reason the linked weapon is so vital is that the painting is centered around that weapon and because of the Canvas’s soul trapping power. When a being is killed by the linked weapon they must make a Will save, DC 10+character level of being wielding linked weapon, if save is failed then the victim’s soul is trapped in the picture. When a soul is trapped in the picture a distinct image is painted on the canvas that is in some way similar to the victum. The canvas can hold a maximum of 1+ character level of being using the canvas souls at one time. Once the mission the canvas is painting is done then the canvas is no longer linked to the weapon and wielder, but still holds the trapped souls. The souls can be freed by destroying the part of the picture they are in. To activate a canvas the user must spend one hour of uninterrupted time mentally linking himself to the weapon and canvas. This requires a DC 15 Concentration check. The weapon is something that the user chooses and can be anything the user chooses. Once the three are linked with each other then the mission is to start and the canvas begins painting itself. Standard Canvas- (Price varys) (magic stuff) We could decorate the hall with these. I will post the others later. Please help out on the stuff I left out. |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-03-05, 11:29 PM | In case anyone forgot... Armaments of Legend So here are the specifications laid out: -Origional weapon with magical pricing Under 100k (may be exotic, martial, or simple weapons...you get the picture, just use a weapon that is in one of the WoTC books, don't make up your own weapon, just the enhancments) -Weapon must have a background, so it is assumed to be an ancient weapon of legend. (Something like that; be origional, some of this might also be included in the in character decription but not all of it should) -In game decription of weapon (Like your telling all our characters about the weapon, stories you have heard and such) -Out of game decription of weapon; should be basic and include the cost break down of the weapon and abilities in detail for rules. Winner will recieve a bonus on their first contract. Corsack’s Hand This curved +1 dagger with a ruby encrusted in the hilt is made for the assassin who needs to get close to his target without anyone knowing he is armed. Since getting close can entail both interaction with others and stealthy operations, the dagger has several abilities that help the wielder accomplish his goal. Most importantly, once per day, the user of the dagger can cause it to meld into his body, as per the absorb weapon spell. When Corsack’s hand is hidden inside the user’s body in this way, a detect magic spell does not reveal its presence. Also, while it is melded with the user, he gains a +10 competence bonus to his Bluff, Diplomacy, Disguise, Hide, and Move Silently checks. Cost: 60,502 +1 Dagger base Weapon-2,302 +10 competence bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, Disguise, Hide and Move Silently-(10^2*100+10^2*100*.75+10^2*100*(3/2))*1.5=48,750 Absorb Weapon-CL5*SL3*2000 (Use Activated)*1/5 (1 use per day)*1.5=9,000 Nystal’s Magical Aura-CL1*SP1*2000 (Use Activated)*1/5 (1 use per day)*.75=450 History: Corsack H’Linor is the legendary assassin from whom this dagger receives its name. Corsack earned a great deal of respect as an assassin because of the great deal of thought he put into each job. While others were content to take out their mark by simply shooting him from a rooftop or luring him into a back ally, Corsack knew that the sign of a great assassin was there ability to plan a perfect hit. The way he planned for each job paid off, as customer who had more difficult marks in mind knew they would need an assassin with the skills to carry out a perfectly implemented plan. For those who did business in the dark, the name Corsack H’Linor became well known. After many years of working his dark profession with amazing proficiency, Corsack was offered the most difficult commission he had every seen. Already old age was creeping up on him, so he decided that if he could complete this last mission, he would be satisfied to stop. The difficulty here was that the mark he was to pursue was none other than the Emperor of the neighboring kingdom. Having three months to complete the job, he traveled to the kingdom next door and gained employment as a castle servant. From his vantage point he learned that the Emperor himself only allowed very few guests an audience, and when he did, they were checked in every possible way to be sure it was safe to allow them in his presence. Anyone who met with the emperor would have need a personal summons, they would be stripped before entering, and a group of castle wizards would test them to see if any magic was operating on their person before they were allowed entrance. He would have one benefit though. The emperor only met with people alone-so if he could get past the security, the job could be done. Corsack contacted an old wizard friend of his, who often helped him when it came to creating useful magical items, and he gave the wizards the specifications for the dagger that has come to be known as Corsack’s hand. Once it was complete, the weapon offered him all he needed in order to infiltrate the castle and assassinate the emperor. He thanked his old friend for the help, and returned to the castle town and searched for information on what nobles might be visiting the castle the following day. Finding the name of one who was meant to gain audience with the emperor, he moved to the next stage of his plan. At midnight, Corsack-quite as a shadow and as just as hard to see-snuck past the guards and inside the first castle wall. He knew the outer guards would know the nobleman coming to the castle that day, and so he let the man enter on his own. As the man walked through the gardens toward the inner wall of the castle, a shadow pulled him aside and took the breath from body. Wiping his dagger clean, he held it before him and spoke a word, to have it meld into his hand, leaving nothing but a small red mark the shape of a knife on his palm. He took the nobleman’s clothes, put them on, and proceeded to the inner wall. Upon reaching the castle, he presented his papers and played the role of the man he was meant to be. His clothes were removed, he was thoroughly searched, and finally, a wizard came and cast a few spells on him to be sure that he was no threat to the emperor. He was sent to the private hall of the man who very few were able to meet. A short while into their meeting, the Emperor was suprised to see a friendly gesture by Corsack turn into a flick of the wrist that planted a dagger (which had mysteriously appeared) directly in his heart. Corsack escaped, and when he returned home he lived up to the promise he had made. His life as an assassin was done. He gave all the tools he had used throughout the years back to the man who had made them…a wizened mage who knew the value these tools held for an assassin. Maybe he sold them, maybe he was robbed, truthfully the story has been lost, but it is known that Corsack’s Hand, as the mage decided to call his last creating for his friend, has been used by many men throughout the ages. It has traveled the planes and done the work for many assassins, until it found a home with a group of these men in a demi-plane called Tyranor. Now the "Hand" sits in the vault of the Shadow’s Breath and Blade, waiting to do its next bit of work. You look about the room and see wondrous paintings all about. | Sphendule05-04-05, 09:58 PM | Alright, new thread!!! Awesome poisons!!! |
| Cazic05-04-05, 10:02 PM | yay for new thread filled goodness! :D |
| Droga05-05-05, 12:37 AM | I've decided to modify my character a bit. Well... by a bit I mean a complete and utter change of class and all. He'll be real fun when hes finished... |
| Wilds05-05-05, 09:30 PM | soooo........ Kelreth stands up and walks around. "Need to strech and keep things moving. No point in just sitting here and doing nothing. Any one need anything explosive made?" |
| Darkuwa05-05-05, 10:22 PM | A tall Rakshasas walks into the guild hall, hearing what Kelreth just said. "Heh. Fraid not. I'm quite capable of blowing things up myself. In fact thats part of the reason I'm here." Darkuwa says. His black cat familiar jumping up to his shoulder, and those with the eyes to see such things, notice they have the exact same markings. "I have come to join your guild." Very quickly Darkuwa finds himself at the end of several swords and with several daggers placed against his back. "How did you find this place?" one of the men asked. "Not hard to find a secret headquaters when you can read minds. Nor," His body is wrapped in shadows and when they disapear a small man in a black cloak is standing there. "When you can disguise yourself like I can." The shadows wrapped themselves around him again and he returned to his natural form. "Well?" |
| Wilds05-05-05, 10:24 PM | Kelreth stands up and pulls his spear into a defensive postion. "Hmm a shangechanger, and a mind reader at that. Dotn konw who you are or how you really found out where we are, cause i dont even totally understand where we are. But you will need to tell us who else knows where we are and why you have come here." Looks to the others to see what they do i know darkuwa if that means anyhting |
| gabrion05-05-05, 10:56 PM | i know darkuwa if that means anyhting It probably means he is a horrible, evil person. :D A dark robe figure steps out of a small side room at the sound of this man's introduction and the ensuing ruckus. "Well, it looks like a cat has made his way into our midst. As for how you found this place sir, I wouldn't be too worried about it. After all, we are accessible to those who need us, so your presence itself is not what worries me. No, I am more intrigued by the reasons for which you sought this place. If you wish to stand among us as a fellow member of this fine group, none will stop you, but first look deep in your should and be sure it is the life you want. For once you speak the words and pledge to serve amongst our ranks, it is a deal that cannot be undone." He pauses and looks at the assassin's around him before going on, "You could just as well tell us that you are here to employ our services and leave without incident. However, if your heart is set on this life, then you will want to speak with him," Shador turns and points to Severis, "for he will be the one to bind you. The choice is before you my feline friend, so make it as you will. 'Tis my hope that your resolve was strong enough before you came that I have done little but waste your time, but that we shall see soon enough. Go and speak with our leader." |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-05-05, 11:22 PM | as of now lets say we are in the inn above the guild house so we dont have to wrroy about how people found us and what not it can be a meeting place of sorts. Severis looks at the tall cat figure. The thing that stood out most to him was how the things thumbs were on the wrong side or his hands...they seemed to be backwards. In regards to a humans'. "Well...Dark" Severis says addressing the Rakshasa. "Dark AND empty, i never thought ide see the likes of you. There is true diversity among this land." a grin of both dislike and intrest crossed his face. "I'm sure we could find a use for your talents in magic. I've heard of your kind before. You possess both magical abilities and extreme resiliance against them. If im not mistaken. Your like the Jordini from the far east or Halistria. Back in Faeurn. Welcome to the Shadow's Breath and Blade. After saying this he leans over to Kelreth and whispers in his ear. "I want everyone to carry a handcross bow with a blessed bolt in it...While i my like new prospects...i also don't want to see any of us get killed." |
| Darkuwa05-05-05, 11:36 PM | Darkuwa's cat ears twitch as Severis leans over. Like there's enough platinum in the multiverse to make me tick off an assassin guild. But he just smiles and acts like he didn't hear. |
| Cazic05-05-05, 11:52 PM | Cazic's sensitive Drow ears and eyes scrutinnize the Rakshasas's every movement and sound and speaking quitely to himself he states "This should prove most.....entertaining." |
| Droga05-06-05, 12:49 AM | Time to re-introduce Gardrog. A shadowy figure moves through the room quickly. Suddenly, it disappears. A knife ripping itself from the rakshasa's belt and spinning around on the ground. It stops spinning, then suddenly the floor itself rises upward in the form of a man. It takes a bow then falls back to the ground smoothing itself out. Before finally the large black form of Gardrog appears, first in a hazy and whispy looking way. Then it solidifies and the glowing orange eyes of the 14ft beast reveal an amusement from behind his mask. The mask itself appearing as a twisted mockery of a half-elf whos face is pathetic, dumb and cowardly. He laughs loudly and bows, his claws flashing in the flickering lamp light. "Well my brothers... it looks like we have... new blood. Soon, it will all begin and we shall have our fun. We shall do our jobs as we must... and we shall do what we wish. Because who will stand against us? Who CAN stand against us? We are the most deadly creatures in the world. We are the shadows, we are the darkness... we are the breath on the back of you neck and the figure you never truely see. Who.... would ever.... stand against us?" |
| ShadowNinja05-06-05, 03:20 AM | "I do believe that we will be most... pleased to have you among our ranks. Please, do not take offense at small remarks made by myself and my ... asociates. We, after all, our a guild of people who cannot really afford to be trusted. Even by ourselves." The man blinked constantly as he talked, and it was a trifle unsettling. Great! More characters. Are we the biggest guild? Cuz if we are then it is sort of... not right. An Assasins guild with more people then other guilds? That's just strange. (But helpful) |
| Wilds05-06-05, 08:00 AM | Whispering back to Severis "Understood" |
| TwinSwordStyle05-06-05, 02:03 PM | Whist was standing behind both Severis and Kelreth during the whole conversation. He was leaning against the wall, with his arms crossed, and his eyes closed. He could still hear and "feel" almost everything going on, though. Being a ranger, he had learned long ago to use his other senses to get a feel for a man....or cat in this case. Whist also heard Severis's comment about Holy Bolts, and put that information in the back of his mind for later referance. The ranger made sure to keep his more personal and secret thoughts away from the surface of his mind while the in presence of the cat creature. He opened his eyes when he heard a cat meow, and looked to see a black cat on the creatures shoulders. The cat meowed at him again, and he raised an eyebrow. The animal sat down on the shoulder and began purring, still staring at Whist. The man simply smiled slightly, and closed his eyes again, putting his chin to his chest. |
| turalisj05-06-05, 02:30 PM | turalisj was next to whist, unnnoticed thanks to his ring of invisibilty."intersetsing conversation" he said, deactivating his ring. "it's been awhile my associates. where did the jester go though? i haven't seen him around for a long time." |
| Wilds05-06-05, 07:54 PM | "The jester has acended and drops by every now and then to have a look around." |
| Wilds05-08-05, 10:36 AM | So what does every ones character that is in this guild good at? or should we not talk about it? anyway, as rurik said i am a blaster. well a sneaky blaster i guess :D |

"it's been awhile my associates. where did the jester go though? i haven't seen him around for a long time." Sorry I haven't been posting RP lately, guys. It's just been really busy what with the rules being created. I've got some free time now that vacation's done with, so I'll go ahead and get Ryn re-involved. Suffice it to say there'll be some smart reply for the above post, eh? |
| Dash Rendar05-08-05, 06:44 PM | A sudden swift and cold breeze drifts through the room as the door bursts open. The man who opened it cannot be seen due to the gloom and shadows cast about his feature. He stands there for a moment, then walks into the building with a lively step, his dueling rapier bouncing on his side. He stands out like a giant in the midst of dwarves. He wears a sly grin on his face, which is surrounded by a light beard, and his dark blond hair is slicked back. His dark blue doublet, thin white gloves, leather shoulderpads, grey cape, and tanned leather boots are most unusual compared to the dark attire the other Assassins wear. His crystalline eyes scan the room eagerly, looking at the Assassins. He clears his throat, then brings his fist perpendicular to his chest in a salute. "Greetings Gentlemen! I am known as Dash Rendar, though you may call me whatever you like. I would be delighted to know all of your own names, but might I first attend to my business here. Might I learn who runs this fine, fine establishment? I wish to offer my services as a Fencing master and diplomat for the growth and development of the Shadow's Breath and Blade. I humbly await your decision." |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-08-05, 09:49 PM | sry i havent posted in a few days ive been kind of busy and i juct got my computer back it was at a friends all weekend. ive got some homework to do right now ill try to post more next week i got a lil swamped stressing for the SAT. "Well met Dash." Severis says looking at the individual. "Im sure we coudl find someone with your talents of use. You said you can double as a diplomat?" |
| Cazic05-08-05, 10:31 PM | There is something I need to know. If I got my leader ship score right I should have a 22. Am I right? But thats not my main question. What do I do with my followers? Do I just go to a DM and say "10 of my followers are farmers out in the country, 5 are Aristocrats in different citties, 6 are blacksmiths, etc" or what? I will need to know this if I am going to be making a imformant web for the guild and a prober buisness for my Company, The Dragon's Breath. I believe I have everything else about it down like skill checks and such for them, but need the answers for these questions for me to help this guild properly. :help: |
| Wilds05-08-05, 10:40 PM | i think you can, cause i doubt the gms are going to spend that much time making each individual characters followers and assigning them places. |
| Cazic05-08-05, 10:53 PM | i think you can, cause i doubt the gms are going to spend that much time making each individual characters followers and assigning them places. YES! This makes thing simpler. :w00t: :dancin: :ayyyy!: Was I right about my Leader ship score? |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-08-05, 11:19 PM | your leadership score might be off...i donno...13 for character lvl + 1 for a guildhouse + charasma, witch looks liek 0? i donno thats at a glance. |
| Cazic05-08-05, 11:31 PM | your leadership score might be off...i donno...13 for character lvl + 1 for a guildhouse + charasma, witch looks liek 0? i donno thats at a glance. 0? What the heck?! That must be a typo. Doesn't the Leader ship Reputation Table stak with it self. Like You have Special power(+1) but are cruel(-2) thus having a -1 or having Great renown(+2) and Fairness and generosity (+1) thus having a +3 from that part of the score. I should get a +2 because of the guildhouse since it would more or less be my base of operations. |
| Dash Rendar05-08-05, 11:36 PM | "Why," said Dash with a wide gesture "Those are only a few of my many talents, Master Severus! Of course I can double as a Diplomat, so long as it's... worth my while, eh? But enough of that, let us leave the formalities and such behind. What of the rest of you? I have yet to make the acquaintance of nearly any of you, so please, speak. I am eager to hear a tale." With this, Dash goes to take a seat in the corner and props his feet onto the table and uncorking a small flask. OOC: In case you haven't noticed, I'm new to these boards, lol. |
| Cazic05-08-05, 11:46 PM | Cazic, the Drow Wizard, looks up from his books and looks to the newcomer. "We welcome you to our ranks friend, but if you seek something be more specific than "tale." We are all very busy with the end of the Kings forced Treaty coming to a end soon. I myself must plan out my company. Still need some more men in some areas, but that will be taken care of. Now speak of your desires friend. We may be of aid in them." The "treaty" he is talking about in the finishing of the rules. We have been RPing for a while now, but not fighting so I thought I would make a RP reason for this. It makes sence considering we do have a king last time I checked. If this is not liked by the DMs or other people I can change my statement, but I just figured a RP reason was needed for the lack of fighting since "We just dont have the urge to kill our most hated enemies" didnt seem very good. :) |
| Master_of_Flames05-08-05, 11:49 PM | would a shifter ninja be welcomed in the halls of the jesters guild? |
| Cazic05-08-05, 11:53 PM | would a shifter ninja be welcomed in the halls of the jesters guild? dont see why not. |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-09-05, 01:04 PM | we could use a shifter ninja, im assuming you will probally want to shift to eb smaller animals so you can help sneak inand out or largers ones to aid in battle. Either way sounds alright. We can use as many people as possible. |
| Wilds05-09-05, 01:18 PM | "Greetings, I am Kelreth, a warmage. Welcome to the Breath and Blade." |

Either way sounds alright. We can use as many people as possible. no, a shifter is a descendent of lycanthropes. they can shift into a trait that increases either str, dex, or con. the wildhunt clan of shifters gain the scent special ability for a few rounds. |
| alaron05-09-05, 06:07 PM | here is the link rurik Vorren, the first gunman (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=6042411&postcount=261) I am a master of mundane stealth, so a lack of magic will not affect me much, and I am a damn good shoot aslong as I can avoid being scene which is not a problem because I am naturally invisibe, of at best a blury shadow. |
| Darkuwa05-09-05, 10:05 PM | "I am the mighty and poweful Darkuwa watch and be amazed at my power" He takes 3 small ball bearings out of his pockets and makes them float and roatate really fast between his hands with dumb ferris wheel music playing in the backround. Darkuwa looks at everyone then at the ball bearings, obviously thinking this is a very cool trick. |
| Wilds05-09-05, 10:15 PM | "Cheap tricks" Hurls 3 balls of fire and incinerates the ball barrings |
| Master_of_Flames05-09-05, 11:08 PM | "Cheap tricks" Hurls 3 balls of fire and incinerates the ball barrings "petty trick is more like it." Arcticis, Frost, said, coming out of the shadows. "Assasins shouldn't use tricks to entertain, it is not our job. leave that to the bards. We should be practicing our skills on the field. But if you want to compare tricks..." Three small icy-blue orbs flew from the ninja's fingers, one hitting darkuwa's mouth, one hitting his hands, and one hitting his feet. Each orbs blew apart and formed into thick ropes, which instantly bound and gagged the mage. "stick to your spellbook wizard." The shifter said, walking back into the shadows and dissapearing. |

Darkuwa looks at everyone then at the ball bearings, obviously thinking this is a very cool trick.Jackinock looks disgustedly at Darkuwa. He thinks to himself: <This guy can't be serious... That's supposed to be entertainment? I'll show him real entertainment!> Jackinock then disappears from view. As he takes steps (while invisible), everyone hears one low note followed by a note a half-step higher (similar to Jaws). They start slow, then grow faster and faster as they move closer and closer to Darkuwa. Right behind him, the notes stop, then start again, leaving red footprints as they move away from Darkuwa in front of him. The footprints stop where Jackinock originated from and everyone hears his voice from where the footprints are. "Thought I was gonna do something to you? Nah, I'm not foolish to p*** off a Rakshasa." Darkuwa then feels a poke on his head and jumps from surprise. Behind him, Jackinock comes into full view as he watches the globes fall to the ground. "Nah, I'm only tricksy to pull a joke off a Rakshasa, even if it did use up a good amount of my spell power..." Jackinock grins at Darkuwa, then begins prancing from table to table singing a song by Gimble. [note: I cast Invisibility (surprise round, if anyone cares), then Sculpt Sound and moved, then Prestidigitation, then Ventriloquism and poking] Jackinock doesn't like being one-upped as entertainer, in case you didn't notice... [I didn't know that "p-i-s-s" was that offensive on these boards... interesting...] Man, you guys are so fast... Sheesh... |
| Sphendule05-09-05, 11:31 PM | ... "stick to your spellbook wizard." The shifter said, walking back into the shadows and dissapearing."I resent that! I cast spells just as well as he and I don't use any f-ing spellbooks! H3ll, I don't even think he uses those d4mned things! They're such wastes of space, valuable space needed for carrying other items actually more worth our while!" Jackinock yells this into the shadows where the shifter disappeared. Yeah, in case you haven't read the comparison section in the back of Complete Arcane, sorcerers and any other arcane user do not like being called "wizard" when they have many differences, such as rigidness (preparing spellcaster) vs. free-willedness (spontaneous) and being a book-worm (preparer) vs. being self-taught (spontaneous). Even the specialist wizards prefer to be differentiated from the regular wizards and dislike being called "just another wizard" when the speaker means "just another arcane spellcaster".[/rant] |

| Inverted Dice05-10-05, 11:23 AM | Hey there all of you, I'm back now on summer break. I'm feeling kinda sick, but its no big problem, also, I've been absorbed a bit too much in SC:Chaos Theory and KOTOR. :D Anyway, has the game started yet? Marcus laughs a dry and rattling laugh at the spectacle before him. "Why argue over who can best entertain? Asides, we haven't gotten enough entertainment since the Jester left, never much amongst the grim company of assassins." |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-10-05, 02:52 PM | just for a heads up and to make sure everything is under control, keep this petty fighting in character and everything will be alright. |
| Master_of_Flames05-10-05, 04:21 PM | new item: ring of shadow form. this black iron ring allows you to use shadow form as a move action 3 times perday. cl10th. cost: 60,000gp for a 3/day ring, 100,000gp for an unlimited use ring. what do you think? useful for an assasin? |
| Darkuwa05-10-05, 04:34 PM | Darkuwa shapechanges into a gnome to remove himself from the ropes bindings and then immediatly returns to his normal form. When he hears Jackinock, he gives his cat a small pat, and it runs away. When Jackinock turns laughing at his stupid little trick on Darkuwa he comes face to face with the now 20 ft tall black cat, who roars at him causing him to fall over. |
| Droga05-10-05, 06:04 PM | The 14ft shadow creature sighs as it watches them. This was foolish, and a waste of time... "Now children, Cut it out or we're going to have an accident. We don't want any accidents, that would be bad. This is foolish, and rather pointless. Fighting among ourselves is going to bring no good. So, stop... or I'll kill you. That simple enough?" The creature's eyes flash red as it stares at the two. It's claws shining in the lantern light. It's laugh echoed from behind it's twisted mask, it seemed to enjoy the prospect of killing someone tonight. |

When Jackinock turns laughing at his stupid little trick on Darkuwa he comes face to face with the now 20 ft tall black cat, who roars at him causing him to fall over. He wasn't ever laughing. Jackinock only smiled then started to perform. And he's also jumping from table to table... He sings a lot after a conversation or after doing something he enjoyed... Jackinock looks at the cat and casts Sculpt Sound to make it's voice sound like that of a kitten's. "Now, now, don't take it so hard, Darkuwa. It was just a little bit of fun! Can't you take a joke?" |
| Wilds05-10-05, 11:17 PM | "Lets keep it quiet people, no need to draw attention to our little group" "So lets keep the huge cats in the back and the tormenting to a minimum." Though then he sits back and watches in amusement |

| TwinSwordStyle05-12-05, 01:14 PM | Whist watched as the other members continued their bantering. He opened his eyes when he heard the commotion created by the suddenly overgrown cat. He pushed himself off the wall and slowly walked towards the giant creature, making quiet purring noises. The cat turns its eyes towards the ranger, its fur going flat again as Whist's calming gestures cause it to relax. He walks up to it, and after a moment of staring into its eyes, begins to scratch it under the chin. It purrs as well, and begins to brush up against the ranger as cats do. The size of the creature nearly knocked Whist off his feet at first, but he catches his footing. "I like your cat, newcomer," he says quietly, patting the creature on it's flank. |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-12-05, 10:28 PM | ive been updating the main page regularly so let me knwo if i do something you guys dont like. i put all the poisons in an sblock, im mainly using s block to organize things, if you guys dont liek it let me knwo and ill take them out. i dont want out main page getting too long though thats another reason why im using them so the page is simple unless you want detail. ive finished with the writing of the guild house and now just have to color two more pictures, and put them in. so it shoudl be up soon after i total the final priceing. i might come close to the edge of our limit...so if anyone can spare a feat for landlord..or if one of their 9th lvl followers or cohorts can then bam we are good. lol. we shoudl eb fine anyway. |
| Cazic05-13-05, 10:54 PM | What ever happened to the contest? I still need to right up my story. :weep: |
| Wilds05-14-05, 12:21 AM | still running as far as i know |

Right now it looks like my 12th level feat won't be serving its original purpose, so I may be able to pick up landlord (or leadership and have my cohort take landlord). Not for sure though. I will take a second look and see if I'm missing anything vital, and if not I'll take the feat and let you know. |

When ever i have a cohort i always have them craft or do tihng liek that. IMO As far as the contest goes, its still going on we need more applicants and i want to see more ideas anyway...but yeah keep them comming. i posted the guild house, but the pictures of each floor have yet to be posted. i'll get to that soon and i have to finilize the pricing and maybe add some more thingsjust figured ide get it on the thread. |
| Wilds05-14-05, 04:04 PM | im thinking about doing that taking leadership and having the cohort take landlord for me. think it would work ofr a a warmage? |
| gabrion05-14-05, 04:38 PM | that sounds great. ide recoment takign leadership and having the cohort take landlord. When ever i have a cohort i always have them craft or do tihng liek that. IMO Ya, and considering my character has CWI right now, I guess I could have my cohort do that instead, and I wouldn't even lose the feat. I guess I would just have to make sure my cohort can craft magic stuff for me. Maybe I'll have him be a Warlock...I think they can craft anything. Ya, if I give him 12 levels of Warlock he can craft pretty much anything. I just need to be able to fit 2 levels of Chameleon in there now... |

A cohort always has to be 2 levels below you so if you are wanting Warlock and 2 Chameleon it would have to be a 11 level Warlock and 2 level Chameleon. |
| gabrion05-14-05, 06:30 PM | A cohort always has to be 2 levels below you so if you are wanting Warlock and 2 Chameleon it would have to be a 11 level Warlock and 2 level Chameleon. Right...I was pointing out a problem in making said cohort. The point was that I needed 12 levels of Warlock to be able to mimic any spell when creating items, and 2 levels of Chameleon for the floating feat so I could make any item I want. Of course you're right and this is a problem, so I will have to look elsewhere for a solution. ;) Also on this topic, I've found it difficult to use cohorts to make magical items in the past (and I forgot why until now), because they don't really have an effective number for XP. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but XP gets screwy when cohorts make items....no? |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart05-14-05, 06:50 PM | @Rurik - I had a deal with the former ruler of this...estate. I dont know your views or your opinions on things but quite frankly I don't care. What I do care about is how willing you would be to continue the relation I had between the former guildmaster and myself. I shall PM you our past conversations and a new agreement if your interested. -Frosty |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-15-05, 01:02 AM | im thinking about doing that taking leadership and having the cohort take landlord for me. think it would work ofr a a warmage? yeah as long as the cohort can be 9th lvl. it works for anyone. i love cohorts i dont liek dealing with followers though. one extra guy is enough for me. I dont think XP gets weird or anytihng with cohorts crafting. they can level and stuff so i dont see them as anything different except for an effective PC under your control. Ive used them to craft before too. So you could do right now warlock 11 and chamelleon 2 then have him take lvl 12 in warlock for the next lvl. The only problem i might see with the cohort is role-playing wise you might have to give them a reason to make the item and give it to your character or what not but im sure that won't be a problem becasue a cohort is basically a fanatic. Frostbite, go ahead and PM me your proposition im sure if KB approved i'll approve with the actions. |
| Wilds05-15-05, 09:52 AM | actually your cohort can be one level below as long as your character had died or the cohort had leveled while your character has not. it says it some where near the leadership feat, a couple nice loopholes. i think im gana take leadership and have my cohort take landlord, now i just need to get arond to figuring out the math |

Then you might have died and he might have brought you back. But yeah your cohorts can gain experience and becasue of how leveling is, they shoudl eventually become the same level as you. EVENTUALLY...thats probally around lvl 30 or so...i donno. But yeah its just another effective PC under your control so i don't think there are special rules on them except for when you origionally recruit them. |

I dont see that loophole. Can someone pm or e-mail the Landlord feat if that isn't to much trouble. I might have my cohort take it to. |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-15-05, 05:36 PM | Wait...how is that? I dont see that loophole. Can someone pm or e-mail the Landlord feat if that isn't to much trouble. I might have my cohort take it to. The loop hole is that your cohort can be your same level or one lower and the 2 level difference really onyl makes a difference in the beginning wqhen you pick it. i don't tihnk i can get in trouble for taking one feat from a book. So here you go parafrased and inturpereted from pages 10-11 of the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook. Landlord [Special] by knowing the right nobles, making contacts with masons and artisians, or performing great deeds for a liege-lord, you have resourses to help you build and expand your stronghold. Prequisites: 9th lvl Benifits: basically you get free gold to spend on a stronghold. This gold cannot be spent on anything but the stonghold and the ammount of gold you get increases at each level. So you basically are given a stronghold then when you level up you can build on to it. Also as a second note if you use any of your own funds from adventuring on the stronghold the feat will match that number. So lets say you have 20k left over from crafting a magic weapon and you used it on your stronghold, then you get another bonus 20k that you can spend only on your stronghold. The amount of gold you get to use on your stronghold is based on this fancy table. lvl Stronghold funds Additional funds gained 9 25,000gp n/a 10 50,000gp 25,000gp 11 75,000gp 25,000gp 12 100,000gp 25,000gp 13 150,000gp 50,000gp 14 200,000gp 50,000gp 15 250,000gp 50,000gp 16 300,000gp 50,000gp 17 400,000gp 100,000gp 18 500,000gp 100,000gp 19 600,000gp 100,000gp 20 800,000gp 200,000gp |

| turalisj05-15-05, 06:20 PM | On our cover place (whatever it is (dont say in the open)) We could use some of my followers to handle the place. speaking of that, how exactly do you get a higher position in the guild? |
| Cazic05-15-05, 06:45 PM | speaking of that, how exactly do you get a higher position in the guild? by the higher ups saying you deserve it, voting to see if you deserve it, and then promoting you. |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-15-05, 07:04 PM | yep thats how it goes, im finishing up on the guild house and so im wondering how many peopel did take the Landlord feat, or had their cohorts take it. This way i can determine how much we have left ans such. But does anyone know a place where i can post the maps online so i can put them in here with a URL? i tihnk KB had said photo buckets or something? but huh, yeah i need a place to get the pictures. |
| turalisj05-15-05, 07:04 PM | by the higher ups saying you deserve it, voting to see if you deserve it, and then promoting you. with my reputation around here, thats never going to happen....... oh, and i'm taking my original character out of the guild and sticking zik in. he's better suited for assasinations and such. |

| turalisj05-15-05, 07:55 PM | oh, and i have a new idea for a contest; a training course for rouges/spies/ etc. :D anyone? |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-15-05, 09:01 PM | thats sounds good, for everything can you give me a link to your character and ill put him on the main |
| Wilds05-16-05, 11:09 AM | ive got some tiem so heres what i have so far with leadership total score of 23 so i will have either a lev 13 or lev 14 cohort depending upon whether or not i can think of a good rp reason about why my cohort would be lev 14 so my cohort is going to be a fighter 7/ seul arcanamach 6 (7 depending) im looking at the scout and think that it might be good, i would have only 5 levs in suel but the char would be a lot more versitual and useful for the guild |

| Sphendule05-16-05, 06:20 PM | one striaght class is the best. multiclass=badI'm afraid that that's just your personal opinion on the matter unless you can give specific proof that taking a prestige class isn't going to be any more useful to a cohort than it is to a player. That PrC, btw, makes his cohort very much anti-mage, thus allowing him to specialize in areas where his main character might have problems covering. One last thing... Full fighter is completely worthless compared to the types of abilities you can get from various PrCs... A full fighter will lose to just about any fighter-based multiclassed character because it's multitude of feats usually don't match up to the kinds of abilities gained by multiclassing into a PrC. We could even ask the guys over on Character Optimization or KB whether full fighter is a good idea and most of them should say, "No way, Jose!" |
| turalisj05-16-05, 06:29 PM | fighters are just horrible anyways, i was talking about soulknife, rouge, bard, etc. not the fighter though. it just plain sucks. i never play a pure fighter. :D |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-16-05, 08:18 PM | pure fighter makes a very nice trip monkey type character..not much else from what ive seen,; the barbarian is pretty much better on most levels if you go straight classes. But multiclasses cohorts can be very effective. Imagine An assassin character with a mage slayer at his side(seul arcanamach or spell thief)....(im going to be using assassin a lot because we are an assassins' guild after all)...or what about an assassin backed by the powerful spells of an Archmage. Assassin bringing up melee while an arcane archer fires into the fray. Or maybe even 2 assassins...think of the combos ive even been thinking about taking leadership at a higher lvl to get another assassin to back me or maybe a potent spellcaster. MAYBE |
| Wilds05-16-05, 08:51 PM | so fighter or scout for a stealthish orientated sual arcanamach? |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-16-05, 09:24 PM | scout is my favorite class and they just made the perfect PRC for it too in Heros os war i tihnk its called the dread warrior or something full BAB and +3d6 SA in 5 lvls; for scout oriented rogue type fighter. they might have changed it i dont have the bok but that was what i read about it and the picture is sweet. im gonna buy that book once i get the cash. it sounds sweet. I hope it doesnt have really tough Prequisites...but yeah imagine a lvl 11 scout/ 5 assassin/ 4 dread warrior....i love it, i want to see the class abilities |
| Wilds05-16-05, 09:48 PM | so a scout/suel arcanamach? |
| turalisj05-16-05, 09:59 PM | well, ninja's are stealthy and get good acrobatic bonuses, scouts get a speed bonus and is great at laying traps and, well, scouting. spellthief can steal spells, making him a great anti-mage, and rouge is an all arounder. :D *thinks he's summed up the stelathy classes pretty well* oh, and the monk and ranger are pretty good at stelth too, since they get evasion and uncanny dodge. :D |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-16-05, 10:58 PM | well, ninja's are stealthy and get good acrobatic bonuses, scouts get a speed bonus and is great at laying traps and, well, scouting. spellthief can steal spells, making him a great anti-mage, and rouge is an all arounder. :D *thinks he's summed up the stelathy classes pretty well* oh, and the monk and ranger are pretty good at stelth too, since they get evasion and uncanny dodge. :D thats a good assumption of the silent classes; then we have prestige classes...and i dont want to get my books to list. But when you add prestige classes cleric and Arcane casters become good for stealth too. they can get some *nice* combos * if anyone gets the Hero's of Battle book befor ei say i do let me know how it is... |
| gabrion05-17-05, 12:22 AM | so a scout/suel arcanamach? I vote hexblade/SA, but that's just me. Actually I think Monk 2/Hexblade 5/SA x would be good for an anti mage cohort. With Mettle and Evasion, plus high saves against spells, a good BAB, and some spells and his hexblade curse, he could be helpful. Edit: Hex 5/Occult Slayer 5/SA might be even better (although you wouldn't get evasion). Since your cohort should be 13th level, you will still get some of the important abilities form the SA, while being even more anti-mage. If you don't want to put off SA though, a level of Occult Slayer is still good, since you can take it with +5 BAB whereas SA needs +6 (if I remember correctly). |
| Wilds05-17-05, 07:51 AM | ill look up hexblade some time after school then |
| Dash Rendar05-17-05, 07:25 PM | Speaking of prestige classes, seeing as my character is going to be a negotiator type, I was thinking perhaps something along the lines of a Bladesinger character, such as: Swashbuckler/(some arcane caster)/Bladesinger Opinions? |
| Sphendule05-17-05, 07:37 PM | *clip* Edit: Hex 5/Occult Slayer 5/SA might be even better (although you wouldn't get evasion). I could even see a Hex 6/SA 7, but then the BAB would be much lower. However, the lowered BAB would be made up for with more spells from each class and more uses of abilities. Just make sure that you choose what you feel is best, Wilds. |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-17-05, 08:47 PM | Speaking of prestige classes, seeing as my character is going to be a negotiator type, I was thinking perhaps something along the lines of a Bladesinger character, such as: Swashbuckler/(some arcane caster)/Bladesinger Opinions? if your goign to be a negotiator you might want to look into the Spy master class from CV or the Mind bender even, you get some nice skill bonuses plus the enchantmant bonuses and such and also get to have some thralls; look into them Spy master is in CV and the other in CA |

It may not be as good as the ones Rurik mentioned or who knows maybe its better. But give it a look it is designed to be a Diplomate/warrior so it could be of use to you. Just check my sig at the top of the page. :) |
| Wilds05-17-05, 09:56 PM | im gana go with the scout/suel. hexblade is nice, but scout has more abilities that i am looking for |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-17-05, 10:49 PM | So are we going to get any mroe entries for weapons? anyone have a concept idea or anytihng they want to share? |
| Wilds05-17-05, 10:55 PM | 200k the limit right? ill work on a weapon some time today or tomorrow |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-17-05, 11:33 PM | 100k limit for the contest but, if you want to make a weapon for the fun of it ans its assassin oriented then i'll post it when we are finished in the weapons section. but it wouldn't be in the contest. |
| Cazic05-18-05, 12:01 AM | I still need to make the story for my weapon. Arg! I keep forgeting to do that. |
| Cazic05-18-05, 12:08 AM | Arg! Double post. |
| gabrion05-18-05, 12:30 AM | Speaking of prestige classes, seeing as my character is going to be a negotiator type, I was thinking perhaps something along the lines of a Bladesinger character, such as: Swashbuckler/(some arcane caster)/Bladesinger Opinions? Hmm... well I think you need a level of arcane spellcaster right, and you also need rage (correct me if I'm wrong, since I don't have the bood), so I would actually take wizard as yhour first level, with Precocious Apprentice, with flame arrow, and then take a level of Barb to qualify for the PrC. Of course this is only if you have to play it through, but I think it is a good idea. |
| Sphendule05-18-05, 08:21 AM | Hmm... well I think you need a level of arcane spellcaster right, and you also need rage (correct me if I'm wrong, since I don't have the bood), so I would actually take wizard as yhour first level, with Precocious Apprentice, with flame arrow, and then take a level of Barb to qualify for the PrC. Of course this is only if you have to play it through, but I think it is a good idea. No, Bladesinger doens't need Rage... You're probably thinking of Rage Mage... Bladesinger is an elf-only class that uses only a rapier or a longsword, has .5 caster level increments (as in, every two levels gives "+1 caster level of previous arcane class"), full BAB, and has special abilities that allow it to ignore spell failure in light armor, cast some low-level spells as Quickened spells w/o increasing spell slot x times per day, and give it a dodge bonus to AC equal to Bladesinger level but no higher than Int bonus, among other things... It's really cool, I made a character for the Seafarer's Guild that went something like Warmage 4/Fighter 2/Spellsword 4/Bladesinger 5. I'm just fond of spontaneous casters, but I can see reasons to choose Wizard or Wu Jen so that you can cast metamagic spells without taking extra time to cast them. Yet, a lot of the diplomatic skills are useful for spontaneous casters because their primary spell ability is Charisma, so that's what I'd suggest if you wanna keep your character good at combat but still able to be good at negotiating, Dash. |
| Sphendule05-18-05, 08:54 AM | I'll edit this later to include a history and such about the weapon, but I thought I'd just show the weapon I made so that it could be included in the contest somewhat. Vortex +3 clouting scimitar, AL N, Int 10, Wis 17, Cha 17, Speech, Telepathy, 120 ft. darkvision and hearing, Ego score: 19. Lesser Powers: hold person 3/day, daze monster 3/day, 10 ranks in Knowledge (Nature) [total bonus +13]. Greater Powers: gust of wind 3/day. Moderate abjuration; CL 15th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, repulsion; Price 100,000 gp. |
| gabrion05-18-05, 05:50 PM | No, Bladesinger doens't need Rage... You're probably thinking of Rage Mage... Ya, what was I thinking...sorry about that. |
| Master_of_Flames05-18-05, 09:20 PM | my weapon... nvm :( |
| Wilds05-18-05, 11:21 PM | heres my creation Midnight + 2 Distance composite longbow. Range of 220 ft. Silence and Darkness on strike of arrow. Feeblemind three times per day. Silence lasts for 4 minutes. Darkness lasts for 20 minutes. Silence caster level of 4. Darkness caster level of 2. Feeblemind caster level of 9 Will save of 20, -4 penatly to arcane casters. CL 9. Moderate evocation, illusion and enchantment Price: 96630gp Midnight is the creation of a sect of elves that choose to shun the normal view of life that high elves shared. They choose to worship death instead of life. For this they were cast out from their homes. Still being creatures of the surface world they delved further into the deep forests than their kin ever had. Their they found ruins of a civilization that was wiped out. Scars from a colossal battle were every where. Marks left from fireball and lightening bolts littered the ground. Skeletal remains could be found every where, most were humanoid the others were draconic in nature. Though the out casts did not know what had truly happened or why they settled down in the ruins. Being a place of great death they served as a perfect home for the outcasts. Since that time, they have been lost to history. A few high elves remember who they are and what they did but they don’t speak of the outcasts. The outcasts calling them selves “The Fallen” started to venture out of their retreat after centuries had pasted. Where they went they were met with cautiousness and watched. They eventually became renowned for their expertise at assassinations and espionage. Midnight is one of several versions of its self that served the Fallen in their jobs. The Fallen sold several weapons of their own creation to fellow assassins and collects at a price. Despite the price, many were to pay for a weapon of such renowned creators. A few of the weapons ended up in the hands of the high elves were examined and then destroyed for the corrupting influence they seemed to spread among those who looked upon them for too long. The amount of weapons made and then sold by the Fallen has never been counted and likely never will. No one knows where their dark home resides but they know when and where the Fallen come to sell their goods. Always arriving by shadows and leaving by the same shadows. |
| Master_of_Flames05-18-05, 11:51 PM | i take it the "fallen" are just surface dwelling drow? |
| Wilds05-19-05, 07:49 AM | no not drow, they are not evil inherently. that is just the path they choose to walk |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-19-05, 02:33 PM | yeah, ill try to come up with a weapon for later tonight i was brainstorming some for later during my math class. I was thinking. I might be able to have some of these made for characters; presuming we have some extra money becasue enough people take landlord. I might be able to get a small gift for everyone. Ive got one for our leader in espionage to help with security. But if there is extra i'll hook everyone up with some nice stuff. So, lets see what we can come up with. And remember your calling cards everyone, different chess pieces and such. Can everyone Either PM me their calling card or post it here and ill put it by your name on the main page. Once things get started ill write small bio's by your characters on the main page. |
| alaron05-19-05, 02:59 PM | Vorren uses a wodden rook carved from a blood tree. also I have land lord if you have not calculated that yet. |
| gabrion05-19-05, 03:12 PM | Rurik-Although my character sheet does not yet reflect it, I will have the landlord feat (or my cohort will). I will update it soon, but for your purposes, you can count on one more person with the feat. |
| Master_of_Flames05-19-05, 05:24 PM | Arcticis lives and kills by the shadows, wielding his clans prized sword. |
| Wilds05-19-05, 05:46 PM | a blood red rook |
| Sphendule05-19-05, 10:37 PM | "Marble bishop" will be my callcard. |
| Wilds05-21-05, 12:44 PM | random thought and question: since there are 3 different areas, is each member of the guild going to be put in one of the three areas? |
| Cazic05-21-05, 12:48 PM | random thought and question: since there are 3 different areas, is each member of the guild going to be put in one of the three areas? This came up ealier and the answer was no. Only council members are in one area. Everyone else could be in any one area at a time. It just depends on your abilities and the mission. |

| Wilds05-22-05, 08:39 AM | i mean like would i be in subterjuge cause im a blaster? and a stealth person be in espionage |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-22-05, 11:59 AM | i mean like would i be in subterjuge cause im a blaster? and a stealth person be in espionage well the way the guild house is set up anyone is allowed on basically every floor. The only floor everyone isnt allowed on is the lowest basement witch has the councils rooms on it. Only the council members are allowed on that floor. Mostly just to insure their safty. There is no really seperation between stealth and espionage and such within the guild. I guess you guys don't really knwo that becasue i havent posted the pictures for B3 and B4 yet. The only place thats really watchful is the council area witch also contains a prison and torture room. Guild members can get in this area if they are accompinied by a council member, but other than that they are not allowed on that floor. Again this is to insure safty of the council members. |
| Cazic05-22-05, 01:24 PM | Again this is to insure safty of the council members. And again he is not talking about the base he is talking about the missions. Like he said he is a Blaster and thus feels his abilities are best used in subterjuge. He question is : "Since my abilities are best in subterjuge am I only going to have subterjuge missions or am I going to be able to be in stealth and suh missions to?" We all know and understand about the base (at leats I hope we all do) and on that subject do you think it wise to tell people about the trap room? You have the blue prints in there. People could prepare for it. :weep: |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-22-05, 01:30 PM | And again he is not talking about the base he is talking about the missions. We all know and understand about the base (at leats I hope we all do) and on that subject do you think it wise to tell people about the trap room? You have the blue prints in there. People could prepare for it. :weep: well, i didn't really have a choice about that. I was told to post everything. The Gm's will be the ones role playing the break in's to guilds also from what ive heard so i don't have a problem with honesty. We are working on a trust system basis. And if we can't trust the Gm's to be fair who can we trust? im pretty sure they will roleplay everything fine. Also...who's to say i didn't leave out some vital details? :evillaugh :schemes: As for the question now that i understand what he was asking; yes You're right. Just becasue you specialize in one area it doesnt mean you will not be able to do missions in other areas. But on a side note. The Council members pick the people for the missions basedmon who they think will be able to complete it the best. So if you specailze in one area you might not be picked for another area by that council member. So while notsaying you can't do all areas. You might not be picked for that type of mission. There will usually be 3 or more peopel sent out on a contract at a time though. So on an espionage mission they might need a fall back blaster in witch case Wild's would be a person to go too, or they might want some other type of plan it really depends on the group of people. Im sure we will all be able to work together. |
| Wilds05-22-05, 03:07 PM | even though peopel can see the trap room, that will not help them to much unless they design their characters specifically to get through it. Which would be a waste in and of its self. Especaiily when they die as soon as they get past it |
| Cazic05-22-05, 09:20 PM | even though peopel can see the trap room, that will not help them to much unless they design their characters specifically to get through it. Which would you want your enemies to face, the unkown death or the understood chalanges? |
| Solmund05-22-05, 10:39 PM | i see nothing has changed, except that we have a new guild leader. |
| Wilds05-23-05, 06:33 AM | lol, it doesnt really matter to me, either way they die, if they do get past the room then we would know from the noise and we would be prepared to kill the intruder. Any way rurik explained the room to me one day and it is pretty dang hard to get past. it is ingeniusly designed. |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-23-05, 02:56 PM | yeah IMHO im not sure it would be very easy to get by. And you want to try to get through the room ill run an encounter with you on AIM and we can see if you make it through. And this is you guys knwo whats comming too. So if anyone wants to try then my AIM is ATXwingkid. This is a friendly challenge. And i want to knwo if there is an easy way past our guild to so it would work as a play test if your intrested just give me a heads up or something. Wilds, and others that have 8th peroid free at my school we can try sometime this week to see if you guys woudl make it through alive im curious. Lets play test this thing. but yeah not much has changed still waiting for the rules. If no one wants to do the challenge, Wilds and i are going to try to sometime in the next few weeks to make a group of 2-3 characters spacifically designed to bypass the room and see if they can get through. It will be difficult even with 3 characters im sure. but they might be able to pull it off. We'll run the mock encunter and let you know the results. but if anyone is up to the challenge then talk to me about it and we will arrange something. Also if you have some suggestions feel free to add some input and ill take it to consideration. |
| Wilds05-23-05, 06:40 PM | im working on a VoP monk and then an intiatie of the sevenfold vail |
| Sphendule05-23-05, 08:59 PM | I'd fail miserably at trying to get past it alone with my own characters, even if they did team up... I don't even have to check the room out, none of my characters on here (currently, nor likely in the future) are a rogue of any true sort, most of them are designed for casting and/or combat (I enjoy playing magic-using fighters :D). |
| turalisj05-23-05, 09:03 PM | you know, i do have a ring of invisibility, and i do have several ranks in proffesion(guard). so, you know, if you need anybody as a sentry..... |
| Rurik "The Silent"05-23-05, 09:15 PM | you know, i do have a ring of invisibility, and i do have several ranks in proffesion(guard). so, you know, if you need anybody as a sentry..... that might be useful if you want your character to in down time watch the entrance of the guild. I'm sure you wouldn't want to all the time but when you're not out on a job then that would be sometihng nice. You coudl watch the entrance then if someone seems close come tell the rest of the guild so we can wait for them to see if they make it through and we will wait with blades ready. And if they dont make it through then we can retrive the bodies for their items...We might want to use telekenisis or AMF to do that though... Seriously though everyone, the main defense of the guild is its not out in the open and its location is even a secret. So thats our main defense if you make sure you are never followed and we don;t leak the location then no one will ever even have a chance to get in. |
| turalisj05-23-05, 09:37 PM | okay. i might change to a diffrent class since it seems no one but a few are getting reviewed |
| Cazic05-23-05, 09:51 PM | On the cover place we could use some of my followers to handle that. I can switch some of them in for higher level ones to with the new rules about leader ship. It would cover things pretty well with Turalisj, them, us, traps, and god only knows what else we might make over time. |
| turalisj05-23-05, 10:21 PM | well, considering i have 150hp, well over what any of your followers might have..... :D infact, i could probobly take them all on and still have enough hp to have a few ales at the blue lizard. :D and yes, that is a challenge :P |

Now you being there a lot wouldn't seem to weird since you could just say that you realy like the place( and this in it self is true cause the inn is a part of the guild and you like the guild, last time I checked, :whatsthis) but if the whole Inn is run by a bunch of 15 level PCs people might think something is off. :mymy: (I now that may be a new and unknown idea to some, but bare with me :P ) NPCs are another matter all together though. They are expected to run the Inn. :OMG! (never would have thought that possible huh?) Besides can you, all on your lonesome, protect the guild, run the inn, do missions, get ale for inn, get food for inn, get building for inn, get everything for inn and guild? :rolleye2: Now I bet that you could do this if you bent the rules enough, but that would just complicate things and draw unneeded and unwanted attention to us. :teach: |
| Wilds05-24-05, 07:43 AM | hmm he brings up a point, should i just not have followers or should i have them some where else? like training or something |

And yes i agree. I was planning on having low level followers running the inn or hired NPC's. Problem with hired NPC's is that they can be bought off it will be harder for followers to be bribed. But yes i agree either a tenent will be hired for the inn section of the guild and that NPC will manange everything with the inn or our followers will take care of everything. Mainly the food and stuff will be nitial cost, it won't come into play much. Espically becasue im sure no one else will be doing the cost of food, windows and dorrs and such. Everythign is under control, we can have our cover guild and the actual guild house is a cover in itself also. Both run by followers or tenants. |

| 74705-25-05, 07:26 PM | ךּבֿסּ? What the heck? ךּבֿסּ Desire, Secrecy, Community Desire, Secrecy, Community???? That's certainly not what it means... To begin with, the letters there are hebrew. It's the language used in Israel and in the torah (otherwise known as the old testament). It's not some mystical lettering or anything. The first letter: ךּ (hebrew is read to right to left, unlike most alphabets) does not sound like D or C, it's a Qof and it's pronounced like what it would sound like if you mixed the sounds of K and Q together. Next is בֿ, which is bet/vet. This is both b and v in spanish, sound like a mix of b and v. They are technically seperate letters, bet being used for b, and vet being used for v, and are used as such when one is learning basic hebrew. Vet is denoted by a small dot in the center of the mostly-enclosed area of the letter. But in common israeli life, they are mixed. (Also note that in common hebrew, and in the torah, no nikkud marks are used {which means no accents, vowels, or trope marks are used}) So that's a V/B sound. Finally, we have סּ, which is a samech A samech is pronounced like an s, the s is pronounced a bit softly, like the "s" in son. And does not sound like C or D. End of story. So far, when we put these together, we've got K_V/B_S Which, using the hebrew vowels, is somewhere around Kihbas, or Koobehs, or Kahbohs, or something very close to those. Whatever this guy is trying to say, the hebrew is NOT a word in actual hebrew, nor is it even remotely related to one. Even if we were trying to take this letter by letter, (and no, unlike norse runes, in hebrew, letters have no relation to a particular state of existence or to a particular emotion, so you can rule that out.) Even if we were trying to take the first letter of each to be the first letter of the thing it signified, it still makes completely no sense. There is really no word in hebrew which starts with Qof and means anything close to Desire, there is really no word in hebrew which starts with Bet/Vet and means anything close to secrecy, and there is really no word in hebrew which starts with samech and means anything close to community. So once again, I have to ask, what the heck does this guy think he's doing? He obviously either does not know hebrew or does not know it well (he lives in illinois, not Israel. Yes, his location is IL, but there is no naperville in israel; there is one in Illinois). His word has nothing to do with what he says it's meaning or association is, nor are the letters or it's sound anyway associated with it at all! I'm guessing it's some randomly made-up name, which he doesn't even know what it sounds like. (Kihbehs? Kobees? No one would use a name like that on purpose) Which he made to broadcast it as the guild name because he thinks the hebrew language is super-cool and deadly and secretive. (and while it is pretty cool, it just has about zip to do with deadliness, secrets, or assassins, ninjas, thieves, and shadows in general.) I'm guessing he just picked some letters at random and threw them together, thinking it looked secretive-like enough, and hoping he wouldn't be found out. Well consider him found out. So I'm asking everyone here, can anyone answer this (including the guild leader), why the heck are you guys using a "word" like ךּבֿסּ as a guild name? And how the heck did the leader come up with something like that anyway? Pick letters out of a hat? :P |
| Wilds05-25-05, 08:31 PM | ok im guessing that you saw that on my sig, so sorry if it offended. The symbols were chosen by Kingside Bishop, so i dont really know why they were chosen. |

The previous guild master as far as i knwo had no idea it was hebrew when he wrote it. Just merely wrote The Words "Desire, Secrecy, Community" and changed the font. Untill he found something that looked neat. We didn't mean to offend you at all. But really im pretty sure i speak for all of use when we say we didn't know. We just thought it was another font liek imoticons, or something like wing dings where it replaces the words with pictures. Thx for the heads up PM. | Dyne05-31-05, 05:03 PM | well to get back on track...anyone know how much longer we have till the rules are up? Huh? The rules are already up, they're in the Welcome to the Guild House sticky thread. If you mean when the games will start, the GMs said some time in the middle of June last I heard. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder05-31-05, 06:59 PM | After a bit of delay we should be back on track soon. We've had a few things to take care of lately, saying what it was exactly wouldn't be fair to those involved. The rules are indeed up, with a few pending modifications. Soon we should be ready to begin character approval. So, as far as Orcy can tell, some time in June sounds about right. |

Anyway, I'm dropping in to say hello and try to catch up on guild stuff. BTW, the Hebrew thing was pretty funny. I still need to polish up my assassin since it looks like character approval will be happening sometime in the kinda newr future, but for now I'm off to bed. |
| Wilds06-01-05, 07:55 AM | gabrion: sorry i missed it, guess i didnt look close enough, i only looked in the new thread, and if i missed it still then there is jsut soemthign wrong with me fun time, time to kill here is the rulings on covet ops, from The Guild House (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=417444) Covert Operations Covert Operations are a specific kind of adventure a character can undertake that represent covert attempts to do something to another guild, without that guild’s knowledge (at least until it’s too late…). However, since this is PC-PC interaction (not PC to NPC, as in normal games), we need special rules to cover these actions. Presented here are rules for three basic kinds of actions that can be applied to other actions as needed. (Note that in all cases, the Covert Ops DM will need to apply knowledge of the rules to specific circumstances. For example, rules for bypassing traps are not listed here—instead, the Covert Ops DM will, on the involved character's behalf, attempt to resolve all situations as if he were the character (in this case attempting Search and Disable Device checks). Similar cases will appear in infiltration attempts when guilds have characters capable of casting certain divination spells.) Creating a False Identity This action requires a player to create a whole new user name, so that he can protect his own true identity. When a player wants to have his character pretend to be a new person, he PMs the Covert Ops DM the following information: Which of his characters he'll be attempting the infiltration with. The new user name he intends to use when infiltrating. What guild he intends to infiltrate. The infiltrator then creates his new user name, and posts to the thread he intends to infiltrate as if he were a new applicant. The Covert Ops DM then rolls a Bluff and Disguise check for the infiltrator, opposed by the highest Sense Motive and Spot check in the guild being infiltrated. If the infiltrator fails either opposed check, the Covert Ops DM private messages the member of the target guild that detected the infiltrator, and informs him that the character is not who he says he is. What this character does with the information is up to him. If the infiltrator wins both opposed checks, the Covert Ops DM does not alert the victim guild. This opposed check must be rolled again every turn. The character associated with the false user name is fake, however, and should the character get into combat must use the infiltrator's original statistics (which could itself arouse suspicions). Sneaking Into An Enemy Guildhouse When a player wants his character to sneak into an enemy guildhouse, he PMs the Covert Ops DM with the following information: Which of his characters he'll be attempting the stealth entry with. What he intends to do if he gains entry without alerting the opposing guild. The Covert Ops DM then rolls a Hide check and a Move Silently check for the operative, opposed by the highest Spot and Listen check in the guild being infiltrated. If the operative wins both opposed checks, the Covert Ops DM posts the results of the entry to the guild's thread, informing them of what has transpired. If the imitator fails either opposed check, the Covert Ops DM instead posts to the thread of that guild that an individual was found attempting to sneak into the guild. At this point, any guild members who respond to this alert within by the end of this turn may engage the infilitrator in combat. Assassinate Another Character In order for a character to attempt an assassination against another character, that character must do one of two things: Succeed at an attempt to sneak into the guildhouse of that character with the express intent of assassination. Succeed at infiltrating the target character’s guild by winning three consecutive turns of False Identity attempts. If the assassin succeeds at either of these, he may then engage the intended target in single combat, gaining a surprise round over the target and catching him or her unaware (as the Covert Ops DM sees fit). |
| ShadowNinja06-01-05, 02:42 PM | darn. I don't think I will be able to post during July - August. SO... I guess that means my character wont be that involved. :) Oh well, can anyone here check my character? Its on Page 8 of the character post thingie. |
| Inverted Dice06-01-05, 05:13 PM | I wonder if we'll become the most prominent foundation by default, despite our emphasis on a low-profile policy? Also I propose a move to replace the Guild leadership with a highly stagnant and ineffectual bureaucracy for no reason whatsomever. |
| Solmund06-01-05, 05:19 PM | ya! overthrow the goverment of the guild! yay! |

And bureaucracies are a waste of time, they forget the little people and only care for themselves (yes i saw the sarcasm in your comment). So lets just see how things work out with what we got. Hopefully, it will start soon (sometime in June). Fixed. I noticed that your biggest mistake in grammar was that you forget to capitalize. Remember that capitalization is important because it tells us when you are beginning a new thought. Don't forget that proper nouns also require capitalization too. I'm not sure what "accure" means so I replaced it with "argument". Also, try to put fewer parenthetical phrases into your writing because it is disruptive to the flow of your writing and draws the reader's attention away from your main point. Instead, either remove these thoughts or expand upon them in additional sentences. C+ Good Job, but you still have a lot of room for improvement! Here's your smiley sticker: :) |

Now i know its probally in fun, but take it easy. Im fairly sure we won;t be instilling a new government, but if there are any ideas to make it better just let me know in a PM and i'll see what we can do. Not saying Wild's had the best grammar ;) i still don't think he should be berated. We could tell what he wanted to say and i've seen much worse on the boards. Shadowninja@ if you wont be present for most of july or agust thats nto a problem you can still participate. You might miss out on some gaming but we'll keep you involved. In my opinion Cha poisons are the most devestating. For the fact that for most characters and creatures its the dump stat. But yeah if you come up with some we can see if we can have them approved. I haven't worked on the main page in a while ill get back on that soon ive just got to color the bottom floors. |

But thx for bringing it to my attention. What did you mean by hall fo records what did you want man, ive got another two floors plans to add i might be able to throw it in. Probally can. |

Probally can. It is an item you must pay for. It might be in the Stronghold Builder's but I'm not sure. There are spells that block scrying, but they'd have to be cast several times a day, and being the only remaining pure caster, I'd rather not go that route. While Mage's Sanctum and Mind Blank are great anti-divination spells, they eat up a lot of my more significant slots. The Hall of Records was one of my more malicious ideas that involved raising skels of the victims and using them as a scroll rack for the various contracts. Etch a few serial numbers in skulls and store the contract. "Oh yeah, I remember this guy, that was one nasty hole..." |

| I wish I was06-11-05, 03:14 PM | Hello all. How is every one going. I hope back on the boards to see how the war is going, and come to find out they haven't even started? Oh well, what can one do? Well have a nice time everybody. I am not sure why else I came. Perhaps to clarify some things. My last post wasn't a retirement speech, but since everyone took it as such I didn't bother. I was mainly just very busy with my life, and getting very sick of my poorly thought out very limited character, so I ran away. I am not necissarily asking to be let back in, but... so any way, sorry to be a bother, and to take a post to be fully selfish, and unrelated to the current business of the guild, sorry. Good luck on the war, I hope you all the best of times. Bye |

| Dyne06-13-05, 12:56 AM | Hello everyone. Haven't been here as much since I decided to pull out Strider from the games (for now), but I'm still checking the thread. I'd also like to remind people of something. I've noticed that a lot of you have links to the SBaB in your sig. However, some of them still link to the old thread. You might change the link to go to the new thread, if you don't want to confuse potential new members. |

| DolArrah06-25-05, 09:41 AM | I, Dol Arrah, would like to join your organization. I am only a roleplayer, and am not going to be participating in much, except for in-guild stuff, but I would still like to join. |
| Rurik "The Silent"06-26-05, 11:13 PM | alright, consider your self accepted into the shadows breath and blade. Considering you are role play only i don't think we have to worry about you betraying us becasue you would need to leak information so you would need a character. But, we are an orginazation of secrets and intrigue. Welcome and make your self at home within our compund. (ive chosen not to put up the last two maps, and if and when the GM's need them ill send them to them becasue i don;t want them knowing the lay out of where we rest in particular.) |
| Cazic06-27-05, 12:51 PM | (ive chosen not to put up the last two maps, and if and when the GM's need them ill send them to them becasue i don;t want them knowing the lay out of where we rest in particular.) glad to hear it. :) never liked having the maps out so this puts my mind to greater ease. |
| gabrion07-02-05, 02:04 AM | Hey, I've been writting up a guide to creating assassins for the COB, so I though I should stop back in here and see if anyone had ideas. Assassin in this context means anything with a death attack. I'm looking for a comprehensive list of PrCs that grant a death attack. So far I have: Assassin Black Flame Zealot Dark Hunter Darkwood Stalker Reaping Mauler (kinda) Slayer of Domiel Stonedeath Assassin Strifeleader Telflammar Shadowlord I'm just getting started so I'm sure I've missed quite a few, but I was hoping that anyone who thinks of other PrCs could send me a PM. Also if you come up with feats/equipment/etc that is assassin specific (oh ya, only printed stuff even though I love the items you guys make here) that would be great. Thanks everyone. |
| Wilds07-02-05, 08:30 AM | hey Dol Arrah soooo any new news for when we start? i just got back |
| Sphendule07-10-05, 01:25 AM | I think it's been stalled for a while because there are new GMs. Orcy and KB both resigned. |
| Wilds07-10-05, 08:35 AM | what?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! o dang, is r u sure orcy quit? After careful debate, necrodude16 and Sssargoth have been chosen to be GMs for this forum. Pass on your congratulations to them! |
| Asmodeous_9th07-19-05, 11:30 AM | I would like to join your guild. Both as a roleplayer and as an actual PC. I'm currently working on my character, Kalandrin Yraen'tel Barrimtor, a drow "sniper". I'm thinking about using both fighter and rogue levels, but not too sure. He is going to be using light crossbows, 2 of them. Plus a larger crossbow for long distance. Any help would be appreciated with this. |
| Demonfey07-19-05, 09:35 PM | I just remembered that I have a character here. Tetsuo materializes out of the shadows, confused on how he got back here. |
| Wilds07-19-05, 11:23 PM | Asmodeous_9th: K, Welcome to the Shadows Breath and Blade. Ill talk with rurik some time to get him to add you on. |
| Rurik "The Silent"07-26-05, 08:56 PM | Ok...guys some bad news at least for me as far as it goes. I know i haven't been around lately and things have gone really far down hill. Upon my return i've notied the games haven't started and now we have two new GM's. I've been with the Guild since october last year, but im going to resign as guild master, and appoint someone who is going to follow the guild wars more closely. Im going to be playing an online campaine with some friends though and ill come back everyonce and a while. So ide like to stay on as a member but im not going to be the guild master anymore. I feel as though ide cripple you if i wasn't paying attention so if you are intrested in being the guild master of the most feared assassin's guild in the realms then send me a PM or e-mail me at jfijolek@ameritech.net with guildmaster as the subject. All aplicants must be in within the next 2 weeks. Good luck guys thx for the great time. |
| Ashariana08-13-05, 10:46 PM | A slim pale woman enters the room casually walking in, followed by a large man clad in metal. She holds up her hand as she enters, her silver hair hanging down over her silk covered chest. She smiles warmly standing next to the large man with her hand on her hip. "Greetings gentlemen, do not threaten me like you enjoy doing to all those who are unfamiliar that enter. I have found this place through my own methods but intend you no harm, or I would not speak openly. It seems you gentlemen have been a bit... inactive lately. No unexplained deaths, no reason to expect anyone hiding in the shadows. That needs to change... and soon. You are individuals of great talent, and your talents should be put to use. I, am Ashariana. I would like to offer you my services as an... organizer... perhaps a leader as it seems you no longer have one." |
| Wilds08-16-05, 12:45 AM | "Hello lady, my name is Kelreth, associate of the Breath and Blade, our guild leader is somewhere i shall find him" i meant nothign hostile on the stormhand thread |
| Ashariana08-16-05, 08:41 PM | Ashariana smiles warmly. Looking over the man who spoke she waves a hand dsimissively. "You have been silent for so long. It would seem your leader has abandoned you. Of course, I could help you boys become something more powerful. I can assist you in becoming a dangerous and respected force." |
| Wilds08-17-05, 12:11 AM | "We were rightfully a force to be reckoned with, but times slowed and the need for our skills had diminished, though it seems that such a time is near." Ill talk to Rurik somehow do you wnat to be the guildleader? email him if you do |
| Master_of_Flames08-28-05, 11:09 AM | *throws a vitrolic blast at the window* Hey!! have you all fallen asleep or something? And just when I needed someone killed! |
| Wilds08-29-05, 10:36 PM | "Yes, then guild is no more, our leader has departed and another possible leader has left. I might remake the guild." |
| Zombomaniac08-29-05, 10:41 PM | "Yes, then guild is no more, our leader has departed and another possible leader has left. I might remake the guild." Then do it. We need a Assasins guild. To much is happening that needs assasins and this must be done. |
| Wilds08-29-05, 10:52 PM | We be here now Reincarnated (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=7107178#post7107178) |
| Master_of_Flames08-29-05, 11:10 PM | hmm, if you're going to rebuild this guild, then can I become head of espionage? |
| Wilds08-30-05, 11:19 AM | continue all talk on new thread |
