The chain shuriken can be used to make ranged trip attacks price damage range increment damage type 3gp 1d3 10 ft. piercing

Ummm.... ok (not going to get into the fact that that would complently circumvent the point of shurikenjutsu). Somewhat interesting, but why not just use a spiked chain?? Or a kusari-gama, for that matter?? Laterz.

If you actually threw the chain long distance as a projectile, then it would have no more utility than a bolo --- in wich case, the shuriken end would actually unbalance the weight and make it more difficult to use. If you simply swung the chain as a long-distance melee weapon, then the shuriken would also (generally) impede the strangling and grappling techniques employed in kusarijutsu --- especially due to the fact that the pointed ends of a senban shuriken would 'stick' into your opponent or his armor (not something you want to do unless you've disabled a limb via wrapping restriction). It sounds to me you are looking for something like a variation on the kyoketsu shoge (but without the sickle end). Some kyoketsu shoge rings were bladed, and would be swung about as long-distance weapons (with the cord or chain being used to entangle the adversary's weapon or limb). All in all, I would take a kusarigama or kyoketsu shoge over a chained shuriken any day of the week.

Have you seen the effect of chainshot on two foot thick Norwegian pine?! :D Nice foundation by the way, not one that I would join (I don't play ninja or martial art based characters really) but one I shall keep an eye on as the players in my game like to from time to time.
