| Silmarien Aldalome10-25-04, 07:52 AM | Type=Player Character Thread Racial Composition=Any Sovereign Alignment=Player Defined The Sovereign's Army=5000 Strong The Sovereign's Enforcement Forces=based on thasis's Law, Good, Chaos, Evil threads. Depending on the Sovereign's Alignment. Courtiers=3X20th Level NPCs; 10X10th Level NPCs; 20X5th Level NPCs; 200X0 Level Servants Lands=200 square miles of Farmlands about the Main Palace Location=Lake Evendim (excuse the LotR ref) The Sovereign Palace is a work unsurpassed wonder. It's fortifications and ballistrades are unfathomable and vast, whose ramparts reach into the airs to unscalable heights. The Main Gate has all manner of magical fortification and none who have dared to lay siege to the palace city have ever survived. Within it's bounds, are the beautiful and ornate Palace Gardens, which are thousands of acres in their scope and filled with all manner of plant and animal life. And beyond the gardens, the Sovereign Palace, whose Stonework is cunningly crafted, smooth and inviolate. To enter the threshold of the palace, is to obey the Sovereign, or risk certain death, for our Lord's resources and armoury are great. With the wave of a hand, you can be Knighted, Rewarded, Imprisoned, or Executed for Treason at the Sovereigns discretion. And this only begins to recall the glory and splendour of our Sovereign, whose power is vast and unknowable. All Hail & Praise the Sovereign! |
| thasis10-25-04, 06:47 PM | So what are we going to do here. Is this the place were the soveregn rules and takes actions. Can I be soverign. Or do we have to take a vote because if we do then I'm out of the race oready. I can see you, anglar or KOE being voted king and in your case Queen. |
| Silmarien Aldalome10-26-04, 09:15 AM | Thasis - you're the first and brightest of the bunch. The King may declare Edicts that Affect ALL THE LANDS *here* on this thread. When an Edict is passed - if people aren't aware of it, and they don't Honour the Edict, then the High King will send his Enforcement buddies round to a Foundation - any number from the 10,000 strong Army. The equivalent to Ingoring an Edict, is effectively Treason - and in our modern times - equivalent to, say saying "but...I didn't know about that law". As Laurie Anderson says in one of her songs "tell it to the Judge". Posting on this thread, ensures you see an Edict when the High King Declares one! The High King sits on his throne. He is tall and fey, his eyes burn with the power vested in him by his Unchallenged Authority and by Divine Grace. His gaze is like an assault on the senses, and his stare evokes a sense of feeling inconsequential. He is adorned in the finest of Silver and Blue - the regalry of the lands, and his hair is long and flowing. Jet black. By his side, is The Sceptre, which you can feel radiates such a strong, palpable aura of magical power, that you do not need a spell to sense it. And suddenly, He senses you looking in - Scrying from afar - and his beating gaze turns upon you His face is grim. "You DARE to look in upon our Throneroom uninvited!!" his eyes flash with anger and the sceptre erupts into magical power. Immediately - two Wards appear - tall muscular men - with featureless stares. They are KingsWards - and all in the Lands fear them. For they are magical beings who have taken an Oath of Fidelity to the Sovereign. And all who resist them die. The King turns to the Wards and says "Find the Scryers - and bring them to me" as he turns again and looks at you "Your intrusion will not be suffered" ;) Capiche everyone! stav |
| thasis10-26-04, 09:53 AM | Thasis looks at the King and his men. "Don't make me kill you, I just come here to check things out. I'm not here to kill anyone... yet" Thasis then grins "Now let me see. This throne room is in poor shape. Lets fix it up". He then changes the kings chair/throne into a throne made of human bones, he waves his hand and all the tepestrys change to tapestrys of Demons fighting Devils (AKA The Blood War), and then he blinks and makes a moat of blood around the king with a small little bridge to get across. "Now this is what in hell we call a throneroom. I could do better but I can sense your going to get your men to come and kill me very soon. Just to finish this off before I leave" Thasis then casts a permentent spell on everything he casted making all the objects permently their. "Got ta go before I get killed" Thasis then waves his hand and disipears. |
| Dyne10-26-04, 01:29 PM | Dyne, the Archmage of War, strides into the throne. He uses Dispel Magic to get rid of all the abominable changes that Thasis wrought on it. He then faces the king (or queen), kneels down, and says, "Your Highness, I pledge my fealty to you, the all-powerful sovereign. May your reign be long and just, and may my loyalty be unwavering." Thasis, don't mess with the throne room unless you're the sovereign. |
| Demonfey10-26-04, 05:30 PM | A demonfey enters the throne room and holds his hands up. "I am here simply to suggest something. You should declare fiefdoms in the land headed by the guilds, each headed by someone working for you. That way, you have less to worry about, as each one has a duke that monitors the activities of the guild and can act on your behalf in these matters. Also, here is a gift to keep out pesky intruders, O mighty Sovereign." Presents an anti-scrying/teleportation ward. "I'll just leave now." As you watch in stunned confusion, he walks out of the room and teleports out, with a note and a ring where he was. One of the Kingswards picks it up, and tells you that it is a note with instructions to activate the ward, how to deactivate it, and how he knew about the intrusion. Apparently, he was keeping a close tab on Thasis to try and keep things like this from happening, and failed this time, and the ring is included in the contents of the note, which says that it allows the owner to activate and deactivate the ward. |
| Demonfey11-01-04, 08:02 PM | Can I work for you as the person who punishes who you say to punish? |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-01-04, 08:22 PM | Thasis looks at the King and his men. "Got ta go before I get killed" Thasis then waves his hand and disipears. thasis!!! I'm going to really enjoy your sojourn as High King - or Arch Necromancer!!!!! We shall love the various changes in "season" that the Throne undergoes!! @Demonfey !!! If you want to be a leader of the High King's guard - that's a  idea!! ....none will be able to withstand the reach of the King, with the High Guard so well armed. The King's beating presence re-focusses, his attention suddenly drawn by Demonfey.......post borrowed until Frosty returns........His piercing gaze finds you, Demonfey, and the power of the High Kingship is suddenly bent upon you. The humourless features of the most powerful man on earth reveal little of the King's feelings. As he stares, you feel as though you are a transparent bottle, filled with clear liquid. His beating gaze sees through your disguises and weighs your fidelity and courage. After a pause that feels like an eternity, he says "Yea Demonfey! Thou shalt command the High Guard. When thou art summoned, by the King, thou shalt enact Our Will - to fail to do so is Treason, and I shall send the KingsWards after you. Akin to the Elven Tomb Guardians, they are, and some say they are contrived of spells in similar fashion. But greater manifold are KingsWards, for Our magic is mightier than that of Elvendom! Do you accept your Charge? We need FROSTBITE RAVENHEART - our Steward to continue here (with support from GM). stav |
| Demonfey11-01-04, 08:31 PM | I humbly accept, O Mighty Sovereign. |
| thasis11-01-04, 11:16 PM | What, high king, me no high king. Me just a maniualator of the mind. :D |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-02-04, 12:15 AM | No matter where you are in the world you can feel it. As the whole world shakes ever more violently a great swirl of colors slowly start to build over the Imperial Palace. The wind starts picking up at a great speed. Those unfortunate as sea feel the terrible sting of the cold, harsh waves. Where it is hot, its gets hotter. Where it is cold, it gets colder. It seems to you that the whole world is about to ripe apart, as if thousand demons were trying to break free from the earths crusts. Then all of a sudden it stops. The wind dies down, the waves surrender back to the mariners and the ground stops shaking. You stare in wonder and amazement as the colors coming down from the heavens all merge into one stop upon the palace walls. Magnificent crowds like that which has never been seen before crowds around the mountainous base of the Palace. Friend and foe stand side by side in awe. For out of the colors arises a man. He looks of human size with human features and is dressed like the most decorated of paladins. You notice no shield but one long sword by his side and one great on his back. Emblazed upon his the center of the armor is a gavel* wielded by a muscular, holy-white arm. You recognize this man not but come to realize that this must be one of the gods and supreme judges of lands, chosen from and by the heavens, to be High King of all the land. His breastplate of what seems the most beautiful of gold, the rest of the armor so purely white it could only have been coated by the tears of a thousand angels. As lustrous as his armor is you cannot help but then be attracted to his fine, red cloak which could only be woven from the hair of the most innocent of griffins. You continue to watch in amazement as nine more similarly dressed men step out beside him. Four men stand on each side of the king while one man marches forward to the crowd. Overlooking the entire crowd the one man standing alone raises his sword into the air “He has returned to you!” he cried. Point his sword towards the man in the center of the line “All Hail, High King Frostbite Ravenheart!” You cannot help but begin cheering along with the crowd. This time the High King himself steps foward from the line and speaks "The First Law I create for all under the sun to follow goes as follow - No guild, no matter there status, make take arms against another guild except in self-defense for the next Three Weeks. These three weeks shall be known as "the weeks of returning" and this is the law laws! *Judges Hammer The First Edict: - No man shalt draw blade against another. --- I shall introduce a few more edicts tomorrow. I have a couple worked out but I don’t have any others finalized yet. -Frosty |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-02-04, 01:15 AM | .....There is a sudden stillness and a great hush falls upon the lands. As the High King steps forth - his arm ablaze with the power from The Other Side. The blazing armour and cloak fly in the breeze. All eyes turn suddenly towards the High King - many thousands of people - and they fall to their knees in awe at the High King's power. A woman - adorned in Silver and Blue robes - and bearing a runed metal shod staff - one of the Many Thousand finds her courage and her voice. Her face is shining with joy and her eyes tear-filled as she says - with all the Power of Verse The King is Come Unto our Lands His Hallowed Halls and Lawful Crown Beyond you Home His Reach is Long From Shore to Wood and Mountain High His Voice a Spell of Peril Come Defy his Law and So shall Ye Be Ruined then beyond the Sea But Lofty Heights to you are Known When all you Say and Do and Be Makes Whole the World for all to See There is an explosion of Incandescent Azure from the Runestaff - propelled skywards as a surge of power into the Heavens. The Nine Horsement make formation and the head Knight speaks in a voice that finds you clear and hale, no matter where your are. For his Word is Law and to break his Edicts will cause your Doom" There is a rumbling of thunder as the KingsWard speaks 'doom'. The thunder passes - and 10,000 cheers call out into the skies as the People rejoice "All Hail High King Frostbite! All Hail the King!" |

| necrodude1611-02-04, 08:03 PM | As a Judege, Kayne Shadowborne appears at the left side of King Frostbite. "I shall enforce this rule troughout this land" And with this he floats out into the world beyond....... |

| Tenzhi11-03-04, 12:12 AM | emm, guys. could you plz STOP WITH THE COLORS! I'm a color blind person, and it's hard to read as it is! Keep it :censored: black If you're using IE, goto Tools>Internet Options>Accessibility and check the box that says to ignore the colors used on the page; then goto Tools>Internet Options>Colors and set the text/background colors to something you can see. That will solve your problem, and meanwhile some of the rest of us use the colours to easily discern between RP posts. |

I can read the colored sentences if they're just a few words or less not a whole paragraph. |

| Bait the Bard11-10-04, 05:20 AM | The palace balconies stretched on into the distance, offering magnificent veis over pristine gardens, flowing fountains, selectavly arranged flowers, and guards. There were always guards. The balcony itself was built out of pure marble, and shone in the glow of the setting sun, obsured only by a few orange rimmed clouds. Exotic plants of all varieties were set out along its length, as were ornate polished wooden tables, and lavish couches. There were quite a few people around at this time in the evening, courtiers running errands, guards patrolling - trying to remain inconspicuous, and failing -, high class ladies in overflowing dresses gossiping over cups of the finest tea, young lords trying to catch the eye of younger maids, and everyone inbetween. There had been more activity in the Palce of late after the Kings decree, and while weapons werestill allowed to be worn, open dueling was prohibited. The guards semmed to have found the Kings decree somewhat confusing, were they allowed to draw when threatened, or what? Delwyn eyed the Palace going ons with the seeming distracted look he could paint on his face at will, and wandered the balconies, picking up snippets of conversations, watching the guards, glimpsing the occasional scroll that revealed some information. He avoided anyone who could regognise him, which was a small number of fools and an even smaller number of very clever place dwellers. They had come easily onto his side once they discovered what information he knew, and that he was willing to use it. The palace suited Delwyn perfectly, he, within a week here had discovered most of the undercurrents, tensions, and alliances, and made a few of his own, carefully selected. Which lead to the current result of Delwyn controlling almost half the palace, a useful tool. He had many informants, some who knew, and some who didn't. Both worked well. A courtier sitting down with a cup of tea help in a china cup quickly put it down and left as Delwyn approached, and sat down at the same table. Carefully checking that noone was around, he lifted the cup, took a breif look at the note it concealed, then chewed it to shreads. Well, that was interesting, though not entirely unexpected. Lady Nairobi, one of the other major players of court games, was going to have a ball open only to her freinds, and likely discuss very interesting matters. Delwyn stepped lightly off, heading for his suite, to change and then attend the ball.. |
| Von Crown11-10-04, 10:50 PM | A bird flies down from a tree, land, and changes into a young (looking) man wearing a long black cloak wih red runes glowing along the bottom, a gold earring glinting in his right ear. "A ball, eh? this should be interesting." He then ducks around a pillar and dissapears, but a small spider is seen crawling away along the ceiling |
| baerdith11-11-04, 12:17 AM | [COLOR=DarkRed]The First Edict: - No man shalt draw blade against another. -Frosty a richly dressed Elf steps forward and says: "My lord does that include Elves as well?" |
| Dyne11-11-04, 12:23 AM | a richly dressed Elf steps forward and says: "My lord does that include Elves as well?" I think Frostbite meant to include all creatures. Otherwise, everyone would still be killing each other because there are only a small number of characters that are "men". P.S. All hail Lord Frostbite, High King of all the land! |
| Droga11-11-04, 01:00 AM | So, is this king supposed to rule over everything? Because if he does, where does that leave us evil characters? Some all powerful king tells us what to do and kills us if we dont follow him? |
| thasis11-11-04, 11:36 AM | I agree with him. It leaves us evil ones at a serious disadvantage. Of course we could just kill people secretly, but then no one wood see the bodys and be appaled at how mutilated they are. Thats a large portion of the fun. |
| Dyne11-11-04, 04:23 PM | Frostbite only made that Edict to give everyone a chance to adjust to the IFWG. He didn't feel it was right for characters to be dying right from the start. If you want to disobey the High Sovereign, go for it. If you don't want the High Sovereign to be in power, then remove him and become High Sovereign yourself. |
| Demonfey11-11-04, 05:29 PM | Just remember that my character is bound by the word of the king to try and destroy you utterly. Also, I have no problem with unnecessary violence. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-12-04, 08:14 PM | That Edict was only ment to represent what was happening "In game" while were still debating the game itself. Once the date for the start of the game is out their and we have a general feel that everyone is here and starting to play I will slowly remove the edict. This High King...Dont picture it as in a total feudal since where one lord rules over a more powerfull lord in a crazy chain of command in feudal england or japan but rather think of it as the most powerful King who has the most influence and his word is spread over the world. Not his kingdom but the world. The High King, as I understand it, only really has one very powerfull city and everything else anyone has after taking over high kingship from me will pretty much be seperate. He will be both King of that empire and high king of the world. Hope that makes sense, -Frosty |
| Bait the Bard11-13-04, 04:58 AM | If Frosty doesn't mind me hijacking the thread.. ;) Please note, anyone is welcome to come anlong and play, depending on how you roleplay you may be able to gather alliances, form plots, or whatever you feel like. :) I may even get the judges to make this somewhat offical? What say thou? The Ball The lower floors of Lady Nairobi, Flower of the Morning, Lady to the Queen, Heiress of House Nairobi, Ruler of the Seven Cities, among several other titles, were extravegent. Overly grand glass doors opened onto the main entance, with 2 foot vaulted ceilings, painted by (supposedly) one of the best artist to have ever lived - a life cut well short after e was discovered to be having an affair. There were silk and gold thread tapestries on the walls, taking up almost the entire space form floor to ceiling; vases worht more than an entire city were displayed on inlaid gold on ebony tables, carved in the most equisite shapes. The floor itself was of green marble, imported thouseands of miles from the mines of Iilictia, and polished daily. 30 foot wide stairs led to the next floor, with its equalily lavish and extensive rooms, the centrepoint of the level being the ballroom, said to be as big as - or even equal - the King's itself, not a small boast, considering he had spent 15 years buliding it. It was truly enourmous, occupying a third of the floor, with the softest of couches, beautiful chairs, and the finest tables money could buy spread around the room, though more toward the edges, and constantly being spread with fine pates, caviar, truffles, roast turkeys, and the like, by a never ending army of servents. Other servents moved about the two floors, carrying trays continaing any number of items, from small waterbowls for finger cleaning, various exotic fruits, the latest fashionable liquors and wines, and various messages being passed between guests. Other servents awaited at the entrance to take coats, hats and jackets, to polish shoes, as well as to lead people to wherever they may wish to go. Standing near these were the House Guards, very much for show this evening rather than anything else, resplendant in their livery, gold and red, emblazoned with polished silver. The Ball had truly commenced, with dignitaris and nobles from within the kingdom and even a select few from outside the kingdom. The ruse of 'for freinds only' was an old one, it just served to keep the minor political gamers away, to not disturb those with actual power, and while this reduced the number significantly, there were srill a very large amount of people arriving by the minute, in the most expensive dress they could afford. Delwyn had seated himself by this hustle and bustle, sending a servent to bring him a chair, situated by the door, from which he watched all those who entered and went out. He carefully observed who talked to whom, and how real those conversations were, rather than something to throw a watcher of the track, but Delwyn had a lifetime of training. Delwyn occasionally started up a conversation himself, sometimes serious, sometimes to soemone he didn't know, the old ploy to get rid of someone, and also had several serious appearing ones with minor players, to make it seems that they were in with him, again to throw people, and another trick he occasionally threw was to have an obviously fake conversation with one of his allies, a trick which only the most experienced of people could pick up. There were a few of them at the ball, all surroptisiously watching each other to see what they were up to, while taking fingerfoods and having a conversation at the same time. Lady Nairobi was one of these, as was Delwyn, and there were a few others scattered around, including a couple of foreigners, interestingly enough. Some people would come and start a conversation with Delwyn, mostly those of little or monor power, trying to gain alliances, or to appear important; these Delwyn pretended to have an ear for, while twisting anything he said to his advantage, gaining minor favours here and there, which could ahve some use later on, unknown to any at this time. But most of the guests had arrived by now, and were heading upstairs to the ballroom, so Delwyn followed, eager to take part in the political battles that might follow.. |
| Dyne11-13-04, 05:16 PM | An Elf in Emerald Green robes enters the king's chamber. "Your Highness, your Edict has been violated. The one called Droga has slain innocent Half-Elven blood, in the hopes of provoking the Half-Elves to violence. His act cannot go unnoticed. You must punish him for this act." |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 05:41 PM | I would suggest a trial, first. From there, if he is found innocent, the half elves still demand vengeance, and so I suggest we give them a chance in a gladiatorial match, where Droga is put against a champion from their foundation of equal strength. We make sure Droga doesn't cheat, they make sure their champion doesn't cheat. If they lose, then they will have had a chance for vengeance and failed. They win, then this is all put behind us. If he is found guilty, then I will execute his sentence personally and take full blame for any consequences. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-13-04, 05:43 PM | Who do you want to preside over this? You can defer to the "judges" if you have to or even the High King if you want an absolute opinion. The High King stands up and the room is quite for a second. "We could argue and bicker about who will preside over this. Some shall argue the gods, some shall argue me, some shall argue themselves. This will lead us no where. I perpose a Trial by arena. This is only fair, unless you all wish I to cast my one royal vote. Do not bother about watching for fairness...I will take to that. However I will just enforce the rules, the two parties must create and agree on them. ooc: Word to the wise: Dont bother cheating or bribing :fight!: :fight!: :king: :fight!: :fight!: :raincloud :raincloud :surrender :raincloud :raincloud -Frosty |
| Droga11-13-04, 05:44 PM | Well I'm convinced I'm completely right, since the wording says guilds in the "kings" actual words. But I would say its up to the judges, or whatever the rules say. Oh, and demonfey, you'd carry out the sentance if you could :P hehe...I'm evil.... |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 05:45 PM | I want any judge that isn't biased, and if the High King isn't biased, him too. Basically, think of it as being like the US Supreme Court, with the High King being the Head Justice. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-13-04, 05:54 PM | Well ok one party says they want me to do it. Does somone representing the H/E party agree to this? :coolcthul :inlove: :behold: Sorry bored, -Frosty |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 05:59 PM | Let me check. What would stop me from carrying it out? Is it okay if I'm stronger than other characters, but don't take part in guild wars, if I act as the official that carries out the judgement of the court? |
| Droga11-13-04, 06:01 PM | That would be what the wards are for. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 06:02 PM | I thought they were nearer to police. |
| Droga11-13-04, 06:04 PM | I'd just say make the character level 15 and then you can do whatever. Its just a lot easier that way. Oh, and I'm fine with fighting against Dyne if thats what he wants. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 06:07 PM | the level is a flavor thing, really. I made him for a short lived epic campaign, more or less as he is here. I'll do stuff via lackey as soon as I decide on what I want as a lackey. |
| Droga11-13-04, 07:05 PM | Droga grinned evilly at the soverign. His throne would be his eventually, but for now, there were other matters. "Battle is the best solution. What say you dyne? Are you still prepared to lose your life? To die like any mortal who faces the power of the skygge?" |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 07:31 PM | Keep that attitude up and I'll fight you myself, Droga. It's irritating, and what caused all of this in the first place. |
| Droga11-13-04, 07:42 PM | "You keep speaking of your power son of man. Yet you have not shown a bit of power at all. You would be best off leaving these matters to those concerned. Lest I should consider you a traitor." Droga growled, looking back at crowley. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 07:47 PM | Shall I, High King? |
| Droga11-13-04, 07:54 PM | You'll have to lower your level ya know. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 07:59 PM | What I mean right now is to show you my power. As is. I'm seeing if I can get permission. If I do, then your soul will become a spell component. |
| Droga11-13-04, 08:01 PM | You have to lower your level if you want to do anything. The required level is 15, if you wanna fight me, you have to be level 15. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 08:04 PM | I am not talking about fighting. I am talking about teaching your character to be humble. You dared me to show you as I am, and so I wish to see if that will be allowed. |
| Droga11-13-04, 08:09 PM | Well as you are you happen to already be breaking the rules. So I don't see how you should be allowed to do anything until you fix it. Since you shouldnt even be playing this character if he isnt level 15, its assumed that he should be level 15 if you are going to do anything at all. |
| Dyne11-13-04, 09:00 PM | "I'm willing to fight you, Droga. If I must be the sword to deal justice, then so be it." I have a few questions about the statistics of your character, though. Exactly what adds on to your AC to make it equal to 34? What are your natural armor, deflection, etc. bonuses? What is your Touch AC? What is your Flat-Footed AC? You didn't put any of those in your entry. |
| Droga11-13-04, 09:01 PM | I suppose I'll go modify that now, though not everyone has put that in. To save time in the furture I'll do it now. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 09:54 PM | I figured out what I can do as my fighting character. If you want to fight me still, then I will let you fight the personality named Elf. {With that, his body changes into that of an elf with silver hair and grey eyes. If you used sense magic and alignment, you would detect a CG nature and a weaker magical aura.} I am known as Elf. Centuries ago, Crowley had to make numerous aliases to survive in the world of man. He let them go on so long, that they became sentient beings, with their own powers and skills, and at varying levels of strength. I am the "good" side, and was his most recent. Demon was the first, and is more powerful than Crowley. |
| Droga11-13-04, 09:59 PM | "Fight me if you wish little swine. You will not defeat me, no mere mortal can. Will you take Dyne's place then, and die for him? I have no problem killing either of you fools. So come if you must, I shall kill either of you just as easily as the other." Droga laughs a deep and dark laugh. Grinning at this 'elf' he taps his claws on the ground. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 10:10 PM | Happy? |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-13-04, 10:11 PM | There is an explosion of Blue and Silver and you can hear a melody in the aether than recedes as Silmarien materialises. Tears are streaming down her face and she holds the head of her fallen comrade in her arms, washing away the ruin with her salty waters. "High King and Lord Frostbite" she is wracked with tears as she falls to one knee "Send the ThroneWards - I beg you - after the murderer of my people. What greater proof do you need that this!" the Half-Elf - even in death, appeals to you "For in Realmspace - in the airs above - do you not feel it - there is a Great Evil that has been summoned - and it corrupts the heart and soul, so that the Legions of Darkness may be swelled in number. Please Help Us Oh Sovereign" Hi there Frosty - and co. good to see you. Frosty - handle this as you see fit. Regards stav |
| Droga11-13-04, 10:11 PM | Much better |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 10:12 PM | Worth a shot. Besides, decapitating scarf is a spell that affects the scarf. |
| Droga11-13-04, 10:13 PM | We actually going to fight, or are you going to be annoying about it? |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 10:14 PM | If the High king says we will fight here, then sure, why not. |
| Droga11-13-04, 10:15 PM | Then edit that post, its like a 4 year old trying to roleplay. I mean really... |
| Dyne11-13-04, 10:52 PM | I suppose I'll go modify that now, though not everyone has put that in. To save time in the furture I'll do it now. You're wearing armor?! I don't see it anywhere in your stats. |
| Droga11-13-04, 10:55 PM | Droga's armor is a skin tight kind of thing. Its right up against him so it doesnt look like hes wearing anything. Thus catching the opponent off guard. As for belt of magnificence. Its from the mini handbook, the version I have adds +2 to all stats for slightly more than having items on half the slots I could have. Look again in the stats, the armor is there. |
| Sssargoth11-13-04, 10:56 PM | You're wearing armor?! I don't see it anywhere in your stats. Its there. you just need to look in the right place. I think its right under HP. |
| Dyne11-13-04, 11:01 PM | Look again in the stats, the armor is there. It's not listed under equipment. What kind of armor is it exactly? Sorry for the prodding, I'm just making sure of things. |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:01 PM | Its listed after attack, under the word Armor: |
| Dyne11-13-04, 11:13 PM | Darksoul Protection Skygge Shadow Mail +4 What the heck is that? And what is a Skygge, by-the-way? Is it out of a specific book? Are there stats for a Skygge posted somewhere around here? |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 11:13 PM | So, where is this fight taking place, anyway? |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:15 PM | Anglar has stats for the skygge, I've sent them to any DM that asked about them. They arent posted, why wanna get some tricks to use on it from looking at the stats you shouldnt know anyway ;) The armor is a Skygge armor, the enchantment is from the BoVD. |
| Dyne11-13-04, 11:19 PM | Anglar has stats for the skygge, I've sent them to any DM that asked about them. They arent posted, why wanna get some tricks to use on it from looking at the stats you shouldnt know anyway The armor is a Skygge armor, the enchantment is from the BoVD. Nope, don't have BoVD. I'm not trying to cook up tricks. I'm just wondering what the heck a Skygge is, and if it's acceptable to use as a character. If the GM's have the stats, I'll trust them on it. Allright, I'm ready to fight as soon as an Arena thread is cut. |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:21 PM | I can give you a whole lotta info on the skygge... if you roll a high enough knowledge the planes :P |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:22 PM | Well Silmarien is gone, so anybody else wanna set up the thread? |
| Dyne11-13-04, 11:23 PM | I can give you a whole lotta info on the skygge... if you roll a high enough knowledge the planes Darn, I don't have ranks in that skill :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :P |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 11:24 PM | Why not wait until sometime tomorrow, Droga. That way, you will both be thinking straight enough to make things interesting. I do :D . Tell me of the skygge, Droga. |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:25 PM | Why am I not thinking straight right now? I seem to be fine to me. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 11:27 PM | You are. Let me put it another way. Tomorrow, you will both have a better plan of what horrible things you will do to the other. |
| Dyne11-13-04, 11:28 PM | You are. Let me put it another way. Tomorrow, you will both have a better plan of what horrible things you will do to the other. I've already got about the best plan I could possibly have, so that would.... I don't know about you guys, but it's 9:30 over here, and I'm still awake enough. |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:30 PM | I don't really see that I need TOO much of a plan. But then again I've never been one for too much planning. I think I can handle him :P |
| Dyne11-13-04, 11:32 PM | I don't really see that I need TOO much of a plan. But then again I've never been one for too much planning. I think I can handle him Then let's get it on. :fight!: How are we gonna handle this? Are any of the other GM's or Judges on-line right now? If not, what then? |
| Droga11-13-04, 11:33 PM | Orcy is online if you wanna PM him or hope he sees the thread. |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 11:36 PM | Personally, its about 11:40 PM where I am. You still have to be able to describe it in posts, too |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-13-04, 11:38 PM | Hmm? What? I'm awake, I'm awake. What is it you need from Orcy? |
| Demonfey11-13-04, 11:41 PM | Sorry Orcy. I just cluttered up your message box a bit asking you to make and monitor an arena thread for these two. |
| Dyne11-13-04, 11:42 PM | Hmm? What? I'm awake, I'm awake. What is it you need from Orcy? Me and Droga are gonna have a Death Match over the death of a Half-Elf. High King Frostbite commanded a Trial by Arena, but we need a GM or a Judge to monitor it. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-13-04, 11:43 PM | Alright give Orcy a minute or two. He should get the thread up with a nice little background... maybe. Gives Orcy something to do for this guild war thing too, if Sil doesnt end up objecting. |
| thasis11-14-04, 11:08 AM | Well it seems that I have totally missed whats happened. Droga and Demonfay, you have killed someone? |
| Demonfey11-14-04, 11:14 AM | Not quite yet, although if I get my wish, we might have a fight to the death between a shard personality and Droga in an arena. |
| thasis11-14-04, 12:31 PM | Cool, that would be something to see. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-21-04, 11:33 PM | A parchment materialises before the Throne - it is sealed with wax High King and Lord Sovereign, Frostbite Ravenheart As you know, one of the Half-Elves was decapitated in cold blood. It was the case that the Half-Elves did visit the Guild of Evil to warn that Guild - for in the airs flies an Abomination - that would take any soul and corrupt it, so that it becomes evil, irrevocably. The response from the Guild of Evil was a decapitation. I write to object to the High King's ruling - that you would allow the decapitation without sending the ThroneWards. And secondly, allowing the battle at the Arena to decide what "justice" means. The Half-Elves, of course, will not challenge the Sovereign - but the evil acts that were tolerated are recorded by us and we express our concerns to thee in writing. Your Servant Silmarien |

Your Servant Silmarien Helm Dundragon, Purple Dragon Knight of Cormyr, enters the chamber. "Do not worry, lady, for I will handle to burden of carrying out justice. After my match against Droga, justice will be served." This time, I'm using a character specifically designed for combat, especially for fighting evil creatures. So far, he looks VERY powerful, SURELY enough to take down Droga. ;) *hint at ironic arrogance* ;) |
| Bait the Bard11-22-04, 01:46 AM | Ooh, I sense tension.. Yet another thing to discuss in the Ball, so discuss away :D |
| Demonfey11-22-04, 03:33 PM | Oh sweet fires of Garyx, not this again... |
| Droga11-22-04, 03:56 PM | Droga stalks into the room across the celing. His glowing red eyes gazing down on the knight. He laughs and drops down. Standing infront of the knight he smiles. "Justice? You'll have to find something else to fight in the name of little purple swine. I have been found innocent. You can fight for the cause of "destroying all evil" but that would be far too common. You see little man. I will not fall to you. I will take your life in combat as I have the others before you. You will know fear when you battle me little man, you will know pain, and suffering. You will die, just as all others who stand against me have." Oh yes, surely he could do that... or... can he? |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-22-04, 04:39 PM | *grins* - hi there Droga - nice post. The Shadow skulks along the ceiling, traversing the Material Plane by accessing the Shadow Plane. In the wink of an eye, he can cover vast distances and he is close to a place of dread. For the Shadow Plane is filled with things that have never known Light and where mortal flesh is vulnerable and preyed upon by all manner of Undead - vampires, wraiths, and worse. For Droga is a creature whose soul is merciless, cruel and taunting. And he haunts the Realmspace, seeking to cloak the world in Evil and doing the Skygge's evil. There are three before the Royal Throne. Droga, The Purple Knight and Silmarien. And the Divinity of the High King beats upon the party with palpable force. For as you stare at the robes - you see they aren't filled with flesh - they are filled with pure radiant force. Lord Frostbite pulls his hood back and - just for a second - and an Aura of Divine force hits you in a wave of power. For the High King has no body. Legends speak of the Burning - whence, 10,000 years ago, and whence Arnandahar was raised, the High King underwent a terrible transformation. For they cast a great spell, designed to destroy the King and strip him of his power, and carry him to the Shadow World, so that they could return him to destroy his own lands. But, in the final moments of the Dark Spell, and in the Moment Arnandahar came into existence, one of the ThroneWards sacrficed herself. And as the corrupted Archmage emitted a volley of Shadow Power - and even as the High Kings face was drained of life, the ThroneWard transformed herself and hurled herself at the HighKing. A corruscation of colliding forces rang out into the night sky, and from afar, the upper parapet of the King's Tower exploded into dust and showered stone splinters upon the lands. And in the aftermath, the High King was spared, but his flesh was burned away forever, and the fusion of flesh and ThroneWard resulted in an Immortal Being. Cursed to Eternal Life, some say. For a Deathless Watch until the Return of the High King. From whence - none know or can say. And his powers *perilous to use* - bound by the ThroneWard and the Shadow Spirit in eternal deadlock. And to stray but one inch - would result in the Release of Shadow and the High King shall become possessed and craven a threat to all mortals. And so also - the explanation for the High King's Neutrality, who once was good and noble. Sil's turns her attention to Droga. Her patience with the taunts of the Evil Ones are wearing thin. For, right here, before the Throne Room - his fell mouth and dark words insult the land's protectors. She turns to you, Droga, and her keen green eyes find you. Her face is a mask of propriety, but her eyes promise scourging fires and unrelenting pain. "Words mean nothing without action" she says, momentarily summoning the PluriPotent ManyInOne Voice of the Half-Elves. A power akin to the Psion's Metaconcert, some say - yet differet "Shadow cannot withstand the presence of light. For Darkness is not something of itself, but merely the absence of something." She her attention to The Purple Knight and thence to Frostbite. Droga stalks into the room across the celing. You will die, just as all others who stand against me have." Oh yes, surely he could do that... or... can he? |
| Droga11-22-04, 05:04 PM | "Then too can your light not exist without darkness. For then it would have nothing to shine through. It would be nothing. Without a darkness to drive away, the light cannot exist. As for words meaning nothing without action, your words hold no meaning. For you continue to threaten me and my people. Telling me you shall destroy me, and that I am bound to lose for I am dark. Yet, you take no action against me. You simply speak words that have no meaning. I can smell the fear in you Silmarien. I can taste it in your very soul. You are afraid. You know, to challenge me means death. You know that while your goddess will speak, she can take no action. For it would bring down wrath of the other gods. They can take no direct action without great purpose. You are afraid that you will fail. You are afraid that you will die. You are afraid. You fear what will happen to your friends... your.... family. You. Are. Afraid." Droga's dark body moved in circles around Silmarien as he spoke. His eyes flashing occasionally as he spoke. His claws forming a small circle around Silmarien from his walking. He smiled when he had finished, he could smell it. For the anger she had shown, was simply formed from her own fears. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-22-04, 06:29 PM | *perilous to use* - bound by the ThroneWard and the Shadow Spirit in eternal deadlock. And so also - the explanation for the High King's Neutrality, who once was good and noble.[/b][/color] [/color] Thank god, my words finally got through. I got your pm, don't know if you or anyone else will ever get what I was trying to get across but I will base the entire office off of this post, history aside. Lets forget all that was said about from either side and I won't keep bad blood but trying to convince you my opinion is right. In response to the letter written to the High King another Golden Griffin Feather falls like a bolt of lighting to the ground stopping peacefully before Sill it reads: Your appeal is not necessary. The trial was agreed upon by both the defendant and the prosecutor. I have personally witnessed the fight between Droga and Dyne along with the completely trustable Orcy and both of us can attest it was a tragic, yet fair fight. Tragic as may be, the law is the law and cannot be broken my any mortal power, even my own. There is little the other gods [Aka Judges] will be able to do as even their combine power cannot overrule this most sacred of earthy laws, unless under the most extreme of circumstances. Should another conflict arise between the two awesome powers of the Guild of Evil and the Half-Elven foundation – I suggest you try your best at swaying the hearts of those involved to take a different trial or form of judgment if you disagree with the one formerly agreed on. Signed, The High King of [What world is this?] Then unlike the last Golden token given to Lady Sil, the feather turns into a miniature griffin and flys into the sky for a minute for disappearing into the clouds. P.S – Sill I just thought of something while I was writing: am I as the High King the same “character” as me being the judge? Or am I really playing two “characters.” -Frosty |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-22-04, 06:44 PM | Double Post |
| Demonfey11-22-04, 07:52 PM | {Crowley walks through the doors earlier, and says his small prayer to the Dragon god of fire, destruction, and reincarnation. Then, after witnessing the feather incident, he says.} I must admit, the griffon was a nice touch. @Sil, Droga, and Dyne: Do I have to separate you three? ;) |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-23-04, 07:40 AM | @Demonfey (there's a post involving you at the Guild of Pure Good. I just posted it - *enjoy*) @Frosty As a Judge - you are a true Divine Ranks poster. As the 'typical' King - you occupy a sphere of power between Mortality and Divinity. But - the current High King is a "special case". You are bound up with the mythology of the lands. And - I'm not going to ruin the surprise for you by giving you too much information... *grins* [GM-Cryptically]...The High King is a paradox of Light and Shadow. He is a paradox of Divine Power and Mortal Vulnerability; Shadow and Light; Free Will and Bound to Fate all at the same time. In my last post - there are important clues for you. I said this at the Half-Elven Foundation too - i.e. I'd encourage you to "play" with the character and see what happens....[/GM-Cryptically] @Droga: that last post was particularly good Droga. It will score you nearly a 10 out of 10. Sil sees the Shadow wisps and claws of the Abomination, encircling her. Like a vulture circling around prey, it does not grasp or rend until the prey is weak and helpless. But like a vulture - it cowers from true strength and knows no courage. Before turning to Droga, she addresses the High King. She says "Thine Edict proclaims that "no man shall harm another" - a Half-Elf is dead, felled by the hand of Shadow. Again! I ask thee to Honour thine Edict and send the ThroneWards against the Evil Ones. The Shadow haunts us and will steal, even a child, if let be. Hast thou seen the Skygge High King. It is a creeping Doom!" Her voice rises in volume - as she Summons Verse "Dost thou ignore the Pleas of the Good!" She raises her staff - placing it horizontally and in front of her forehead.... Then, turning to Droga "Abomination!" she hisses as he circles "Yea! We fear you!" she jabs him with the metal shod heel of the staff, tripping him when he is at his most cocky. She grins and says "but it is my fear that inspires me to courage." She incants - and her hands are immolated in roaring bluefire. She stretches her arms out and says "come then Droga! Fall into mine grasp then..." her eyes are pools of intense fire "..and know the cleansing fires of Silverstarfire. They shall burn you all the more for knowing Shadow." She incants - sweeping her arm in an arc and a sheet of arcane fires comes hurtling towards you. Just before it strikes you - she incants again, gesturing with her hand as she clenches her teeth and the sheet of fires entombs you in a cylindrical canopy. It is hot, and it carries the smell of summer fires. Closer it tightens about you. Sil is a tower of sudden fury, as she reveals her true feelings and as she says - in PluriPotecny "Shall the Being of Shadow escape the purging fires Droga! I THINK NOT!" she roars She extinguishes the dweomer with a sudden deft gesture. Pointing a finger at you she warns. "ONE step beyond your confines - and you are Doomed" - the final word echoes in the sudden silence of the room. |
| Droga11-23-04, 09:49 AM | Droga grins, the amulet around his neck flashing once, and the magics around him are snuffed out. He rises up and move foreward, stopping inches from Silmarien's face. Placing one massive claw on her shoulder he smiles. "Again little one, nothing more than words." He leans close, his breath smells of death and decay, and his eyes glow with an anger that threatens to consume Silmarien. "In the end, all your magics, all you can summon forth from your human gods. All of it, is but parlor tricks compared to the might, and power, of the skygge. When you are dead and gone, we shall live on. You fear us, but we do not fear you. If you should strike me down, far greater evils will fall upon this world. But that will not happen. For you have no power compared to my might. You are nothing compared to my people. You shake and cower at our very name. Your fear betrays your fancy words little one." (To note: Antimagic aura around Droga) |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 03:40 PM | {Crowley walks over and steps between Droga and Slimarien, pushing them aside and away from each other.} That is enough. We do not need a fight to break out here, gods and Lightbane damn it. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-23-04, 04:38 PM | (To note: Antimagic aura around Droga) Antimagic Fields: I was waiting to see who would be first to try it..... 1. All your own supernatural powers, are halted as well - including all Shadow effects. We have no lore that is selective about halting magic. While you use the device, you are severed from your connection from the Skygge (the source of your supernatural powers - which doesn't make your Overlord happy at all). If you seek to lower the field to use a spell and put it back up as a free action - Sil has Reactive Counterspell. 2. You have to get past Sil's SR for the AMF to take effect and suppress her own supernatural powers. 3. I haven't even started talking about Mordenkainan's Dysjunction. 4. Orcy may forbit the suppression of magic at the Arena - but that's up to him. 5. And in any case..... When the clawed Abomination places its hand upon her shoulder, she grimaces - barring her teeth. Silmarien says grimly - with the ManyInOne "I see! Only a scared being would try to halt my magic, Droga." Jumping back - 11 feet - she Incants - gesturing with her right hand and Azure erupts from the Runestaff - and she propels it at Droga BY RH'IEL! She clicks the Runestaff on the ground Be Imprisoned - THOU ART ABOMINATION - You will not be suffered. Sil concentrates - immersing herself in the Lattices of Magic - where Stardust meets The Weave. From there she attunes herself to the very essence of magic and studies Droga's Antimagic field with Supernatural sight. FORCECAGE BE! She roars - and a 20 feet, barred Wall of Force appears. If Droga tries to use any magic - by first lowering his Antimagic Field Sil is Readied |
| Droga11-23-04, 06:38 PM | Droga smiles at Silmarien. "You may wish to release this cage little one this is an act of cowardice and battle. If this cage is not lowered, I will take it that you wish to declare an act of battle. Thus, I will not be against the king's edict by defending myself, as was the purpose of the antimagic field. So release me vile woman. Or we shall see what happens." Droga reaches his claw through the barred walls growling a few things pointing at silmarien. I don't have to overcome SR unless you happen to be a summoned creature. I believe thats what it says in the spell description. You don't really know enough about my "overlord" to say what makes him happy or not. |
| BronzeBeard11-23-04, 07:04 PM | Enought is enought!!! A full grown Rakshasa enters, his walking stick and cylinder hat make him look very 18th century. This has gone far enought. Sil, Droga, behave yourself! You're in front of the king in a respected area, now you too must show some respect, If you can't then I suggest you two will head towards the arena and finish this up. and with that the rakshasa target a meta-dispel into droga's bars and redirect them 50 ft. behind him. |
| Dyne11-23-04, 07:11 PM | {Crowley walks through the doors earlier, and says his small prayer to the Dragon god of fire, destruction, and reincarnation. Then, after witnessing the feather incident, he says.} I must admit, the griffon was a nice touch. @Sil, Droga, and Dyne: Do I have to separate you three? ;) I hold no grudge against Droga as a person. And, let me point out, that I am running MORE THAN ONE CHARACTER. Helm Dundragon is not the same as Dyne. Dyne accepts the fate he was served in the battle. Helm, however, will not accept a murderer to walk free simply because he beat someone in combat. Also, I would like to point a big difference between my two characters, Dyne and Helm, that you may not have noticed: Dyne is Neutral Good. Helm is Lawful Good. That really affects the way they think, and Dyne and Helm have similar values but very different approaches to things. |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 07:16 PM | And, let me point out, that I am running MORE THAN ONE CHARACTER I meant screennames, Dyne. It allows less confusion when trying to talk to people on the forums. |
| Dyne11-23-04, 07:26 PM | I meant screennames, Dyne. It allows less confusion when trying to talk to people on the forums. But, you spoke in-character. When speaking in-character, you do not speak to the screen names, you speak to the characters. Ah, nevermind. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-23-04, 09:07 PM | Guys – Let this warning be a role-playing warning only. I enjoy and in-fact encourage this chaos that has spawned such great role-playing. To think…one tiny innocent incident had inspired everything that has happened. Anyways – The High King is going to do his job and try to scare you but…;) ;) some rules are meant to be broken…perhaps however it might make you wish to be a bit more subtle. Also Sil – I won’t ask for any plot-spoilers but feel-free to PM with a “Do this when I say to do this” sort of a post. I’m wiling to be an actor for story purposes. The High King Frostbite Takes up his Judges Hammer [The name is lost on me] and strikes it into the air causes loud, yet painless sparks. “This has gone on long enough!” With that he dispels the spell over Droga “This man has been proclaimed innocent. He has not killed the man that Dyne has fought for." “YOU!” He points to sill looking a little taller “You have constantly been pushing my law and going beyond your rights to defend your people. If you would prefer another judge or another method of dealing with you…have no doubt that I have no fear of calling down the Divine-Power known as the Elf-Bane to handle this. You will however not be punished for anything as of now.” “You” he says in much less threatening voice “Chaos and destruction seems to follow you around and you seem to do nothing about it…” Frost’s words seem to hang in the air for a second before continuing of Droga’s (and only drogas) mind “and don’t start…it as getting so boring…perhaps you might even be rewarded for this…entertainment and all the virtue you have shown throughout.” “As for the rest of you – I promise you swift justice will be dealt to the next person who wrongly accuses the honorable Droga…wether it was his former conviction or a new one…” Also Is Tenzhi still around? Is he just being quiet? I don’t want my threat to be an empty one :P. -Frosty |
| Dyne11-23-04, 09:13 PM | What ever happened to Tenzhi, anyway? By-the-way, Frosty, I think you might have gotten a little confused. Dyne WAS killed by Droga, in the Arena Deathmatch. But, he was brought back to life through a clone the Demonfey made. He is now 1 level lower, but otherwise perfectly fine. The crime against Droga is that he murdered a Half-Elf (Dyne is a full-blooded elf). This is because he posted on the Half-Elven Foundation thread, holding the head of a half-elf and threatening more bloodshed. |
| Demonfey11-23-04, 09:58 PM | This is why epic level characters plotting and using the guilds and foundations like a giant chess game make things so interesting. You get so many interesting threads, and interesting solutions to problems. :) |
| Sssargoth11-23-04, 11:30 PM | The High King Frostbite Takes up his Judges Hammer [The name is lost on me] A gavel comes to mind... “As for the rest of you – I promise you swift justice will be dealt to the next person who wrongly accuses the honorable Droga…wether it was his former conviction or a new one…” Droga? Honerable? Huh, I guess you do learn something new every day... just messin with ya, man, as usual ;) |
| Xen15511-24-04, 02:19 AM | Forgive me if im interfiering in a semi-serious conversation, or disscussion as you would have it, but I have recently seen the movie The Lady Killers and am feeling in a particualry good mood. You know what this place seriously needs? A jester for moments like When LORD Frostbite procliams a Lordly proclomation so he can run out and tell a joke from Sienfeld. Hibidy Hop Music! |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-24-04, 03:10 AM | @Frosty: well done - it's a great post Frosty! Before I act on it please see below OoG: The Droga-Sil conflict is *frozen* 1. Magic of Faerun is explicit on antimagic auras (a spell one level higher than Antimagic Field). SR=YES. That aside, PHB is actually silent about SR more generally. That is, the text is ambiguous. 2. There are a number of spells I have, from being around WotC for going on two years that are anti-antimagic spells. 3. The Initiate of Mystra - is exempt from Antimagic Field effects. Ergo - a game precedent here as well. 4. All the "force" spell effects are exempt, as are the prismatic series in any case. 5. Your GM can make a ruling in any case - should she or he choose. 6. There is sufficient ambiguity, and game precedents in the rules to justify a decision, if I chose to at this stage. 7. In any case, I am researching this, more thoroughly and thinking about it. until I've made my decision, the Sil and Droga bits only (on this thread) are frozen Silmarien glowers at the King. She says in tones as cold as ice "Lord Frostbite: it was *not* Dyne who was felled by Droga, after I visited the Guild of Evil. It was *ANOTHER* Half-Elf. She incants - and seven silvery-blue symbols appear, incandescent and they encircle a field of Energy - a roaring magical fire. Silmarien locks eyes with the High King. She says "Before I act further look >>HERE<< (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=4823159&postcount=3343) Do you see the head of my colleage Lord Frostbite!" Sil says in cold, hostile tones |
| BronzeBeard11-24-04, 07:51 AM | oog, whenever you studied fearun or not - I already cancelled the bars you summoned. So Droga, you're free. ig, a stout, short halfling comes into view, carrying posters under his one arm and holding paste bucket with the other. He reaches for the nearest board and then hang on one of the giant sized poster. He then takes his leave. On a closer look the poster reads: "You are all hearby invited to the following Grand Foundation Tournement. Prices for the viewing seats are as per Orcy's normal fee rate. Any foundation willing to participate in the league must declare so at the arena (thread) and subscribe three of her members that would be taking part in the combats. Fights are not to the death, actions will be taken to prevent so." |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 12:37 PM | You could have ressurected him, Sil. Why didn't you? I could have given therapy to him and his family, to guide them through their pain, and yet you pushed for vengeance first. You need to learn to think with your heart and your brain at once, and learn when to listen to either one. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder11-24-04, 04:00 PM | Orcy just wants to ask a question about magic of faerun. Is it a 3.0 or 3.5 source? Because if it is 3.0, then the PHB should be used since it has the most "up to date" information. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-24-04, 04:06 PM | Sorry I made a mistake while typing - I ment "He has not killed the man that Dyne was fighting for." My post has been edited to say just that. The rest of my words stays the same though ;). -Frosty |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-24-04, 04:45 PM | Let me begin by saying that Droga won't be destroyed or eliminated from the game - no matter *what*. As a fellow campaigner - he is *beyond* welcome here and it's great to have him. He is encouraged to develop all kinds of methods that destroy the Good - but - we have the following to consider on AMF here. Orcy just wants to ask a question about magic of faerun. Is it a 3.0 or 3.5 source? Because if it is 3.0, then the PHB should be used since it has the most "up to date" information. Hi Orcy. MoF is back-cited in PGtF (3.5 materials) that back reference MoF in its reference to the spell. In that back-reference, the spell's parameters are unaltered. In PGtF, Antimagic aura is a seventh level spell not a sixth level spell and its AMF parameters are *distinct*. It's a higher level spell with more constraints. Add to that, FR stuff is that magic is handled a little differently in some areas. Necessarily, with a distinct lore-base (such as FR - that has large numbers of distinct references that don't exist in PHB - e.g. "Shadow Weave"), you need and have distinct kinds of magic. FR has many distinct "force" spells (that could bypass AMF anyhowz), and the Spellmatrix series, and you can do stuff with it that you can't in PHB. We are a essentially an FR campaign. Add to that - again, please everyone, read my posts - the Initiate of Mystra also gets rolls to bypass AMF. And conceptually - it makes no sense to me that someone who has magic resistance - and who understands the fundaments of the magical universe - would not have a chance of shortcircuiting magic. The "force" and "physical universe" effects are excepted from AMF's effects altogether, anyway, for very good reasons, those being that material forces of the Prime Material Plane are matter, not magic. If we are going to discuss this further, we need to do it at Metathread. Regards stav |
| BronzeBeard11-24-04, 05:24 PM | I think that we should set a rule for whenever one uses any spell with an identical name but different effect then in the normal PHB, so that some of us wouldn't get lost. |
| Droga11-24-04, 05:34 PM | Cant say I'm happy about Antimagic field being nerfed. Don't really see why rules from some other spell should apply to antimagic field. But I'm not a GM, so I don't really have a say on what gets nerfed. Doesn't bother me too much, I can get rid of Sil in other ways. Oh, and since I cant PM you sil. I'm nowhere near scared to fight your character. As a matter of fact, I've been waiting to take her out. ;) |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 07:40 PM | More or less all faerun stuff is 3.0, except some of the prestige classes may have gotten an update in other books. In any case, the majority is 3.0 |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-24-04, 08:44 PM | Thank God Droga - Obviously I couldn't do it but I was waiting for somone to take on the intimidating Sil. Not that of course, I would want you to win  as I have had the pleasure of her company slightly longer than yours...but it would be good change to see Sil doing some of the fighting instead of just organizing this whole thing ;). -Frosty |
| Demonfey11-24-04, 08:49 PM | You do realize that would probably push the half elves over the edge and start the war I worked so hard to avoid. Before I can open my shop, which will have all money spent just kind of evaporate, and be explained as material costs and paychecks. Could that work, Orcy? |

| Silmarien Aldalome11-25-04, 03:45 AM | Supplementary on Acronyms My apologies everyone - I should spell out the acronyms. PGtF is the Players Guide to Faerun. It's a 3.5E tome, that bridges the 3E FR stuff that came before it to 3.5, and adds some  new stuff as well. WotC will like me saying it's a great buy. Likewise MoF (Magic of Faerun - one of my favourites) and also FaP (Faith and Pantheons) are great. FRCS (Forgotten Realms Campaign Sourcebook) is a good, thick Tome, and there are many others really worth adding to your D&D bookshelves. The artwork is simply far better in the FR books as well. There is substantial overlap between FR and PHB/DMG. PGtF is actually more recent than PHB. About what PGtF has done for D&D via AMF changes One of the singularly most broken spell in PHB is a sixth level spell that allows the total suppression of magic (FOR 1 TURN PER LEVEL) up to and beyond 9th level! I.e. EPIC level magic as well. The origins of the AMF spell go back to AD&D by Gary Gygax (1980 or so). The Beholder was a very broken monster, that relied on AMF and the spell was pretty much the same then as now. The Beholder's power was seriously under-rated by the XP tables of the time. The way it stood, the Behold wielded various death ray and otherwise effects, while having a :censored: AM *ray*!! Go figure!! It could zorch you with magic without being affected by its own suppression field - and it was ranked with Hit Dice well under legendary Dragon status! For a comparison, in Deities and Demigods and likewise in FaP, a god's divine Aura is suppressed *only* by Deities of greater DR (Divine Ranks). Thus, why should a watery sixth level spell be able to have any effect at all on an Wizard of greater power. Then there's the whole illogical construction of exceptions to AMF's effects! Why the Prismatic series and not the Fire/Cold spell series for example? Why wall of force? Why a spell exists, like AMF that does not have such necessary game balancing constraints as evident in the DR/Divine Aura concept is unknown. The way the spell AMF currently is - it's an insult to game balancing principles. As it stands, a first level mage that casts a scroll of AMF with a party of 4 4th level fighters stands a seriously good chance of downing an Archmage of 30th level. That's very broken. PGtF has gone some way to rectifying the glaring game-balance disaster that is AMF. On an aside, D&D is dragged kicking and screaming away from hack and slash. Despite being a game that esteems magic, it is not the case, (unlike in all famous fantasy books) that Wizards have the edge over non-wizard classes. The game-balancing tools that are hurled at wizards and that nerf magic (are necessary) - but let's see them for what they are. If we start talking nerfing (and I love the word) - I'll start a list from here to New York City that lists the various ways 3.5 has nerfed what were once fabulous spells (AMF not included). *elevator music plus elevator voice* Returning you to scheduled viewing. Thank you for your patience. Next post - I'm BACK |
| Dyne11-25-04, 04:19 AM | If you think AMF is broken, look at Iron Bands of Bilarro. A commoner with them in his inventory has a good chance of downing Droga. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-25-04, 04:34 AM | *unfreeze Conflict between Sil and Droga* Sil is glowering at Droga, and her eyes are fey. Their emerald colouring set in a face that would curdle fresh milk. You can see a hot, red flush to her cheeks and her vigilant, wide-eyed stare monitor's Droga's every move. His further threats are insult to injury. Her dead colleague's head is burned into her mind's eye, and the High King ignores his own Edict, while proclaiming that "justice" has been served by further bloodshed and by Dyne's subsequent death in the Arena. And all delivered with a berating to her, before the throne, and after she had knelt, weeping before the King begging him to assist. She absorbs the High Kings admonishment, noting the bias in his disposition - and this fuels her anger, which continues to rise into a tower of fury. Yet - she does not rant and she does not wantongly maim. She retains her focus and she is the master of her own anger. It guides her - and it warns her that there is malice afoot, and great deception and her anger, thus, empowers her. Silmarien Aldalome is outraged and angered like she has never been angered before. Not even when the Dark Lord and Userper Kevmann, corrupted the Peredhil Stone and created the Ring of the Elf Bane, whose red, lurid light was sickness to wielders of Elven magic has she been this outraged. And her chest heaves as she inhales deep breaths and then fumes the hot airs back out, as her clenched teeth and burning eyes absorb the atrocities that have transpired, and the transgressions of *good* by the Laws of the Land. Yet - she knows not to become possessed of her anger - and she controls it. And at her core, she remembers that she is here for the sake of beauty and for the sake of love. For - if she does not act, she is complicit in acts of Wrongness and she must do all she can to protect the innocent from Abomination. While holding a Readied poised stance - she says, sideways, in tight, cold, quiet hostile tones "Lord Frostbite Ravenheart - I cannot help you. There is naught that I can do to teach you Conscience. When the Shadow comes to consume the Throne - and so it will - you may find loyalty to be as sparing a commodity in your followers as thou hast bestowed thine loyalty upon others." Then - to Droga - "You shall not be suffered. My terms are this: Choose your two most trusted champions of Evil, and the three of you shall face three Versemasters. The outcome of the battle - does *not* put any justice back on any of the wrongs you have committed. It is merely a prelude." she strikes the heel of the Runestaff three times on the ground: *click**click*click* and with the final sounding of metal on stone, Silmarien's voice is transformed into Pluripotency and she is enveloped in an aura of burning, scourging, silveryblue magical fires. They roar with such heat as you have never known in magical fires. Within the fires, you see her - and her voice ROARS Once we are done - and if we win. You will be commanded to surrender. If you do not obey - you shall bring down upon yourself unrelenting rain of cleaning Fires that shall burn at your shadowy soul so that you *NEVER* again forget my wrath. If we lose that first battle - thence and only thence - we shall capitulate - but NOT surrender and a reprieve you shall have earned. But *ONLY* until your next act of Abomination" She incants - a sharp hand gesture as her head and body shift subtly - a counterbalance to her hand movements. A single charged PluriPotent sound - pure and melodic - rips through the airs and there is a brilliant flash of Azure as she says: Necklace of Droga - be free of the Damned and come to me! Droga - two rolls 1. to get past Sil's SR=26 (base 15+Int Mod (I'm only giving Sil +5 at this stage, until my PC is finished) +1 per level of versemaster). 2. Roll a Will Save (Telekinesis) Base 15 (not 10) +5 (int) +5 (level 5 spell). If you fail 3. Roll a save for your necklace-chain to see if it breaks. I get your AMF necklace if you fail all three rolls. |

| Dyne11-25-04, 06:25 AM | Silmarien, Droga's necklace is already gone. He tried to use it in the first battle with Helm, and Helm chopped it into pieces with his sword in the second round. Anyways, Droga's saving throw bonuses are all higher than your Save DC's even are, so your attempt would have been useless. A man wearing a simple purple hooded cloak enters the chamber. His cloak conceals his face, but you can see beneath his cloak a white surcoat with the royal crest of Cormyr. A voice speaks to you that is neither agressive nor weak. It is calm, and slightly quiet, but you sense strength behind the words. "Silmarien, this is useless. Do not throw yourself at Droga's feet, for that is what he wants. That is the mistake that Dyne, Turalisj, and my father, Helm, all made. There will be a time to fight. Until then, we must bide our time and prepare for that battle that will decide all." |

Anyways, Droga's saving throw bonuses are all higher than your Save DC's even are, so your attempt would have been useless. Not so fast. I woz generous and didn't add in the Penetrance and other stuff. The SR is OK - he'll struggle to get past it. The AMF (before being destroyed) will operate at 13th level. It's his Will save that's the 'problem' (nice character Droga - it's a strange combo of monster+PC. The ability scores are really overdone, but I'm going to allow it - we need a really REALLY bad guy to fight). I need to re-calc my Will Save, with all the PrC's benefits: Elusive Magic (15 base) Penetrating Magic (+4) Intelligence Bonus (not done yet with my Char somewher between +5 to +7/8). It's gunna be up around DC=30 unassisted, for 5th level spells. |

| Droga11-25-04, 11:31 AM | Droga allows the shattered necklace to slip away. Grinning to himself. He moves from the cage that is now gone. Stalking toward Silmarien. "Theivery now is it little beast? I should slay you for the attempt. You would steal from me? A fool you truely are, but I will accept your challenge little swine. The true question is... if I should allow you to live that long for your insult. How evil you truely are little swine. Hiding behind false claims of goodness, it is quite amusing." From behind Silmarien, Vadok steps out of a shadowed corner. He holds a bottle in his hand, holding it back as if ready to throw it. "You have commited acts against me that are unforgivable. You are a vile little being that should be slain where you stand. I have said that any further actions against me would be taken as an act of battle. I stand by my words. Now little swine, what say you?" |
| Demonfey11-25-04, 01:04 PM | Vadok, don't toss that! That's a Spiral Burst Bottle! |
| BronzeBeard11-26-04, 02:41 AM | Demonfey, you could do as you like... ig: Droga, Sil. Are you sure of your actions? Can't you two pause with the ongoing argue for the time be? Just calm down, I am sure everything could be worked out by a judge, would you to like to assign one for a peaceful solution of this conflict or do I take this as you will fight to the death? |
| BronzeBeard11-26-04, 02:47 AM | *damn double post* |
| Xen15511-26-04, 02:54 AM | A Elf wearing a grey worn cloak, silver eyes, and raven black hair walks calmly into the chamber and looks starteled at the confrontation, hearing Droga's last words he turns and faces him. Droga, your claims of People who are willing to do anything for the cause of good being evil is incorrect. The destruction of evil is as good of a pursuit as any. Your bloodlust that drives you so, is inherently evil and so any action done to thwart you or destroy you is a Just cause. |
| Droga11-26-04, 09:52 PM | Gonna have to do a little fast foreward to later. Droga rises from the shadows. He stands and looks toward the high king, his eyes glowing a blood red. "Silmarien has broken your edict. She has attacked one of my brothers in the guild of ultimate evil. She must be dealt with. There will be no battle to decide this outcome, she has struck out against one of ours. Now, she must be dealt with." |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 09:59 PM | {Crowley comes through the doors.} I was a witness to the attack. When Racanath (Chaos Evoker) came to ask about the Karse Stone, she shot and destroyed his body with silverstarfire while unprovoked. None who are evil are allowed on their property without their permission, and he knows this. He attempted to goad Silmarien into giving away her secret lore so that he could further evil. Dyne, she gave us the Karse stone, and then told us that it was okay to ask about it. Since Racanath has more knowledge about it than myself, he decided to come and ask. He did try to be nice about it, and not startle anyone with his true form, and he was destroyed for it. He would have left if asked to, I can vouch for that. Besides, wouldn't that count as battle? |

"I don't see how you got that idea. I do not recall her giving you any such offer." Seriously, I can't find anywhere that she offered to tell the Guild of Ultimate Evil the secrets of the Karsestone. I only see that she told them that they would not be spoon-fed info on the item, and that they would have to figure out what it does. |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 11:11 PM | She still gave us the stone. And told me that I could ask her anything about the Lore. Racanath may have mistakenly seen this as an invitation, but that still doesn't give Silmarien reason to annihilate his body. She could have just corrected him. |
| Droga11-26-04, 11:12 PM | Droga roars loudly. His roar is followed by growls and grunts of different kinds. He turns toward Dyne his eyes shining with fury. "SCUM!" Droga slams his massive fist into the ground, shattering the floor, the shock felt flowing through the entire palace. "You would dare to back her vile attack on those of our foundation? SHE WAS NOT JUSTIFIED. She attacked for no reason, simply because he was there. Are not elves and half-elves welcome in the halls? Do you descriminate against those that are evil so greatly, that you would BAN you OWN KIND!? VILE SLIME! You have no right!" The palace suddenly becomes visibly darker, shadows falling on it and covering the entire area. In the shadowed halls Droga's eyes glow brightly. "She must be delt with. She will die. You know not his intentions, you cannot speak for what was in his mind. You vile scum believe that there is only that which is dark and that which is light. You do not believe there can be intentions to do good in those who are considered evil. You are fools. You will drive us to eliminate your peoples, and we will eliminate them if your actions continue. Silmarien must pay, for she has done deeds that break the kings laws. There can be NO doubt about this." |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 11:19 PM | I seriously misread your personality, Dyne. You have no understanding of evil, and choose to let your own beliefs blind you to events. |

She has warned all that Evil will not be tolerated in the Hallowed Halls of the Half-Elven Foundation. To violate this is to bring harm upon yourself." |
| Droga11-26-04, 11:30 PM | Droga smirks. The hall growing dark again so only his eyes and his grin is visible. "As I have warned that any more trespesses against my people would be punished with death. So now she will die by your reasoning. She will be slain and I am fully in my rights. I may 'legally' slay here by your flawed reasoning." |

Silmarien has warned that none of evil may enter the halls of the Half-Elven Foundation. To try to "punish" her for enforcing her right to property is to violate her rights even more. Do not try to twist my words, for you will find the attempt fruitless. I mean everything I say, and none of your tricks can change my stance or my meaning." |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 11:37 PM | And by your words, Dyne, that would mean that she would attack me for being evil as well. |
| Dyne11-26-04, 11:39 PM | And by your words, Dyne, that would mean that she would attack me for being evil as well. "Her words were that none of evil alignment may enter the guild house without direct permission from Silmarien. If you were to force yourself in, she would have every right to attack you in defense of her children and her land." |
| Demonfey11-26-04, 11:44 PM | I do have my own moral code, Dyne, and that includes never killing children. They are the future. |
| Dyne11-26-04, 11:47 PM | I do have my own moral code, Dyne, and that includes never killing children. They are the future. "If you want to be welcome in the Half-Elven Foundation, commit no acts of agression toward them. Barging into the Half-Elves' guildhouse would be an act of agression, and they would have a right of attacking you. However, that does not mean that Silmarien would act as such. She could easily decide not to harm you, and to give you a warning to never do that again. But, you would have to gain her trust. And forcing your way would not gain her trust." |
| Demonfey11-27-04, 01:33 PM | Well, he was trying to not startle the children with his true form. Give him that at least. |
| Droga11-27-04, 02:10 PM | "Enough of this! The fact remains that she has slain one of our people. Killing him simply because he entered her halls asking to be allowed to learn. Seeking nothing more than knowledge. She is a violent beast that must be delt with. He had no intentions of harm, nor can you say what he thought. Instead, she attacked, listening to nothing else than the fact he was one of us. That does not give her rights to kill our people. Droga roars, rising up again. He slams his claw to the ground, tearing part of the floor away as his claw rises up again. He points toward the king. "What say you king of man? It is a fact that she has slain one of my people. WHAT SAY YOU?" |
| Dyne11-27-04, 02:20 PM | "Enough of this! The fact remains that she has slain one of our people. Killing him simply because he entered her halls asking to be allowed to learn. WHAT SAY YOU?" "Lord Frostbite, do not listen to this. Do you not see how violent and hateful this one is? He is wrecking your palace." Dyne waves a hand, and the floor is restored to is former perfect form. "As I have said, this is not a matter between Good and Evil. It is a matter of a person's Natural Rights. Every person alive has the right to Property. Every person alive has the right to withhold their property and hospitality from anyone they wish. Silmarien has stated that anyone of Evil alignment that passes on to their land is subject to her wrath. Racanath has chosen to violate her land anyway, and Silmarien had a right to destroy him for it. Racanath is a lich. He cannot be slain unless his Phylactery is destroyed. Silmarien knew this. Racanath's body was destroyed for trespassing on the property of the Half-Elven Foundation." |
| Droga11-27-04, 02:46 PM | "Silence your venemous tounge little serpent! Your king's law does not say that you may slay others because you feel it is right. What right does she have to slay those who's beliefes she does not share? Her foundation is one of Half Elves, do some not have... 'evil' tendancies? She is a vile woman that has no right to strike out as she has. She offers 'evil' the right to walk on 'her' property if they are given permission. However, when one comes to ask for this permissoin, she slays him. She does not have the right to do so. Nor does your king's law allow such an action. Now... let him decide. This is not a court little serpent. But a judgment." |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-27-04, 08:00 PM | The King mumbles to himself "Why must they bicker and fight?" He then looks up at Dyne "By violating your peoples lands...do you mean trespassing or taking action against it. A punishment shall be delivered based upon your answer, although I will give Droga a chance to plead his case after yours. Its obvious that trial-by-combat doesn't work even if approved by both parties." The High King let out a little laugh "Also tell Lady Sil that she can speak to me personally if she thinks there are 'Dark Shadows' operating behind my humble throne." -Frosty  |
| Demonfey11-27-04, 08:02 PM | If I may, as a member of both parties, oh High King? |
| Dyne11-27-04, 08:08 PM | "High King Lord Frostbite, I believe this would better to be discussed between Silmarien and Racanath, since they are the ones who are most affected." |
| Demonfey11-27-04, 08:11 PM | As long as there are witnesses allowed, I will agree with Dyne on this. I notified them that you are considering this, and will tell them if you decide to do it. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 12:12 AM | @Droga Forcecage lasts for 30 hours at my level. Describe how you got out - you need to spell out the method you used. Then expect the GM to respond Silmarien listens to the debate in the Throne room. And she is at the end of her patience. She tosses her robes aside, and strides forwards wearing clothing that lends itself to greater manaeoverability. She is adorned in blue and silver - and etched into her garments on the front and back - a seven rayed star, whose radians are blue and silver. She has knee-high boots and is wearing close-fitting clothing. The hems are lined with silver-blue glyphs. Around her neck, a gem - fist sized - and unevenly shaped, but highly polished is connected to a mithril chain. The gem glows with azure light. She studies the High King's face with a look of contempt before turning her attention to Droga and the other shadow being with the vial in its hand. She says to Droga in pluripotency "I've had enough of you. I don't need to hear another word come from your dishonest, corrupt mouth - Damnation take you!" Her jaw is set and her eyes unwavering. In response to Droga's ranting - Silmarien raises the Peredhil Silverstarfire - and she erupts in a magical field of azure. She aims a blast right between Droga's eyes....it is the final moments of gathering power. The staff grows in brightness, and she lunges forwards, hurling the fires at Droga's eyes...... The action isn't complete yet. stav |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 12:16 AM | {Crowley is suddenly between Droga and the silverstarfire, taking it full in the chest. He grunts in surprise, and then snarls at you, Sil} ENOUGH! YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR HEARING, AND YOU ARE MERELY MAKING THINGS WORSE FOR YOURSELF, LADY SILMARIEN! The High King and one of his many mages let Droga out of your cage. |
| Dyne11-28-04, 12:34 AM | "Silmarien, I must side with Demonfey. There is no law to protect you from attacking someone in the High King's court." My whole arguement for Sil's side has nothing to do with Good or Evil, but Law. John Locke has said that all human beings have Natural Rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and Property. His words are true. All human beings (in this case, sentient beings) have a right to possess and defend their property. Here in the U.S., if someone violates your property (i.e. entering your home without your permission), you can, legally, mess them up as much as you want. Since there have yet to be a set of laws spelled out for whatever country it is that we live in (I'm guessing somewhere in Faerun), the only interpretation of the law that is really possible is from what laws we have in the real world. |

It's D&D - not Earth Sil stares at Dyne. "I do not adhere to laws that protect the Damned and allow them to inflict harm upon others." She looks at you with a penetrating green eyes. I only support Laws that protect the good. I will not capitulate to laws that allow the innocent to come to harm. And you will *not* tell me how I will use my conscience. Therefore - you will stand against me - if you work with Demonfey - I will *not* be held to whim - to work with evil and then good - the one and then the other. I tolerate neutrity but I do not count Neutrality in my allied ranks when it comes to good and evil. |

You turn around, and see Crowley looking at you with barely contained rage in his eyes. You also notice a gaping hole where a portion of his chest should be, from your strike with silverstarfire.} I don't care what rules you follow, except for one that is very important. This rule is that there is no fighting in the High King's throne room, Sil. Do I make myself clear? I didn't attack, I didn't make a threat, I merely stated it in an angry fashion. |

She readies her staff - and looks to the High King - who she no longer respects. And then back at the combatants - |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 12:51 AM | You have shamed yourself, Lady Silmarien. You have begun to attack people without physical provokation. Continue, and you harm your case more, and potentially lose your allies. You had a good chance to win the case before, but now, you have begun to overstep yourself. What good are laws that only protect one group, instead of both? {He walks over, ignoring the blasts of silverstarfire hitting him. He grabs the staff, and heats it to the point where Sil can't hold onto it any more.} Stop this foolishness now, before you destroy all of your credibility. |

I am asking you to work with the law. If Evil tries to use the law for Evil ends, we must try to use the law for Good ends. Shattering the law with outbursts like that will destroy any chance we have of succeeding. And if you deny allies simply because they do not strongly favor either Good or Evil, then you are foolish. We cannot be picky. We must welcome into our ranks any who would join. To do otherwise would cause you to lose many allies, and to gain many enemies." |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 12:56 AM | Why do I bother trying to reason with you, Sil? |
| Droga11-28-04, 12:56 AM | Do I need to make a save or something? Or can I commence killing sil? |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 12:58 AM | "Silmarien, calm yourself. I am not asking you to work with Evil. I am asking you to work with the law. If Evil tries to use the law for Evil ends, we must try to use the law for Good ends. Shattering the law with outbursts like that will destroy any chance we have of succeeding." She looks at Demonfey and says "there is no worth in the use of the word "shame" where it comes from the mouth of evil. It is *sophistry* to use a word for a moral emotion when the one who uses the word has no conscience. CHAOTIC EVIL beings HAVE NO CONSCIENCE she roars. The High King's laws have failed us - they need to be changed. Therefore - I will not suffer them, Dyne. His laws have allowed a murder to go unaccounted for. I will *NOT* rest until there is an ATONEMENT for the *murder* of my Half-Elven colleague." She shifts her attention back to the King "and since, you Lord Frostbite - claim that all is "even" - you leave me no choice." In a blaze of silverblue she implores, in no uncertain terms For THERE HAS BEEN NO REPARATIONS FOR THE MURDER OF MY LOVED ONE AND UNTIL THERE IS I WILL NOT BE STILL Turning back to Dyne she says "so there is no claim to "natural justice" while this charge of murder is outstanding." The Law that protects all life "NO MAN SHALL HARM ANOTHER MAN" has been Broken. The Law was Broken by Droga *first* - and it does not hold, while the Murder goes unaccounted for. There was no trial, no meeting of Justice LAW HAS FAILED US |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 12:59 AM | Do I need to make a save or something? Or can I commence killing sil? Just go with the flow Droga, and have your character realize that there are other ways to win than bloodshed... In any case, I took the hit for you. |
| Dyne11-28-04, 12:59 AM | Do I need to make a save or something? Or can I commence killing sil? "Neither, there shall be no violence in the court of the High King. To attack a sentient being here is to break the law. If you must fight, do so elsewhere. If you break our law, Demonfey and I will fight you, even if we believe you to be our ally." He sighs at the thought of having to do violence against Silmarien, no matter how necessary it may be. |
| Dyne11-28-04, 01:03 AM | Turning back to Dyne she says "so there is no claim to "natural justice" while this charge of murder is outstanding." Natural Justice? That would be the Law of the Jungle, and that's what seems to be going on here. "I said that every being has Natural Rights. These are Life, Liberty, and Property. This is WHY we have courts to decide this case of murder you bring before the High King: the accused has a right to Trial by Jury." |

| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-28-04, 01:18 AM | The High King mentally summons his thronewards to be near yet unseen with the exception of the one already beside him. He looks up in a calm, yet deep and powerful voice "And...who...Lady Sil decides what or who is good or evil? Is it you? Is it up to you also to decide who lives and who dies? It certainly seems as you might judging by your total lack of wisdom and your totalitarian government you have set-up." The High King looks over at Droga "Not only do you attract trouble like I mentioned before it seems now you seem to bring out the worst in people." Frosty takes a deep breath looking up into the heavens before facing Sil again "I don't know what possessed you to become a judgmental hypocrite...But reverse the situation! What if one of yours had killed one of Drogas! How would you like it if you agreed to trail-by-arena and you won, but then I told you no longer deserve that and that I thought your people guilty!... Your party and his agreed to it. Even if my heavens powers weren't locked away it would be impossible for me to undo. In the eyes of the great gods he is innocent. I rule your actions you have taken in your foundation halls as self-defense I shall take what you did here today and forget it. I give you full permission to as much revenge and justice as you, rightly, deserve. But threaten me again and you will have more problems to deal with than this Droga. If you want to attack Droga, declare full-war on there foundation and march against it – I won’t stop you. I won’t stop you, I won’t hunt you and I won’t tell anyone else to go to war against you. But know this – If you break yourself from the laws of these lands than no help shall you be given – Any person can do anything to you and I will have no power to stop it. You think your powerful, you think your safe…but that’s because you’ve never had to watch ever angle… |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 01:20 AM | {Crowley calms down, and looks at Sil in the face.} You forget that you had an even chance. Hells, you had three, no wait four. Dyne, Helm, and Turalisj all fought Droga on equal terms, for what you call "justice", and they failed to defeat him. You have had your fair share of chances. You have begun attacking people in the hall of the High King, and you have wounded one who had been trying to help you. I hold claim to your conscience on the basis that you are entering the state of mind I did just before I lost mine. You have seen my memories, and you know this to be true. This is the exact same mind frame I was in before I went berserk and damned myself to eternity in Hell. I am done talking. Make up your own damn mind. I'll see you when you damn yourself to Hell. {With that, he turns and walks out of the hall, oozing flame behind him.} |
| Dyne11-28-04, 01:23 AM | Silmarien looks at Dyne with incredulity as she says "The Law has been broken by Droga. He felled my colleague - and it is *I who seek Natural Justice* - and until that law is upheld - no man shall claim law as an argument to convince me! Okay, if you want to go the route of "the law of the jungle", beat Droga. ;) |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 01:26 AM | In it's own proper place of course. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 01:27 AM | Silmarien looks at Demonfey and she says in hostile tones "at least he (pointing at Droga) doesn't feign conscience. Let him taunt - I prefer it to your sophistry, Demonfey." She looks at Droga - and says "You will not be suffered" her eyes find you Droga and it is as if Silmarien is with you - as you read this message. You are certain Silmarien has remembered all the events as you actioned them. All that you have done at the Half-Elven foundation - Silmarien remembers it. She casts her mind back over the order of events - and they are clear in her memory - every flash of magic and every blow. She remembers Scrying at Peredhil Halls, using her metadimensional variants of the magic, to scan the aether. For it was then that she saw the Skygge - the Artifact of the Damned - where recently arrived in Realmspace, it's malevolent spirits sat purched, waiting to ruin you. After this - she visited the Guild of Evil, where she delivered her message to the Worshippers of the Skygge - their clergy. They were warned that their evil device was known - and that unending retributive redemption would be visited upon them if but *ONE* being was harmed by the Skygge device. None were attacked - The King was advised of this development - and told of the Evil. The Skygge - in retaliation - decaptitated a half elf and delivered the head to Peredhil Halls - in violation of Half-Elven defences and in contempt for our people. Dyne then challenged Droga to a match and Droga destroyed Dyne. Dyne was returned to us, and altered by Verse. Droga deceives the King - and the King in his weakness, did not assert the King's own Laws. Silmarien confronts both the King and Droga - and Demonfey tries to argue conscience with Silmarien. Dyne claims rights to Law - even though the Laws of the Land have been broken. NONE have repented or atoned for the death of my colleage. And UNTIL YOU DO I WILL NOT REST |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 01:35 AM | Congratulations, Sil. You got me to quit the Half Elven Foundation. |
| Droga11-28-04, 01:37 AM | "Oh my foolish little beast. You are the one who decieves. Your snake's tounge strikes out to poison the minds of those who listen. You attempt to force things to be seen from your view. You do not open yourself to the views of others. Instead you strike out against those who think differently. You speak of ridding this world of evil. Well then my dear little serpent... you must slay yourself first. For you beliefs are the very thing that spawns evil within other creatures. You bring evils by your dedication to that which you consider good. You my dear little thing are foolish indeed. I shudder to think of what your children will grow up to be. Somone should... save them from you." Droga's dark laugh fills the halls, echoing throught them. His eyes flash red as when he speaks of the children. A wide, dark grin spreads across his face. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 01:41 AM | OK - Time Out just for a quick post. This is stav popping in not In Game Your works are all wonderful and your posts are alive with form, shape and colour. You should be really proud of yourselves for your most excellent work. I thought I should pop in to remind us that IG is not OoG. If anyone needs to talk - please PM me. Take Care everyone - you're all doing a great job regards stav |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-28-04, 02:01 AM | Demonfey - Don't forget you can "quit" the HEF ingame but you don't have to do it out of the game. I see no point why you would leave outside of the game. I mean if I took seriously what Sil has been saying about the king I would be pretty Poed as she pretty much has been calling me a "loser" all night. Of course I have no choice though - To be too decisive - As in rulling strongly one way or another - then this game would be no fun beacuse at the momment no one can take me on and thus nobody would ever do anything interesting :P. -Frosty |

But she keeps the Silverstarfire burning - she remains readied. For she does not trust the King. She says, in focussed, quick tones to the King and in rapid speech - looking him straight in the eye "My 'state' - none at Peredhil Halls are coerced and all live the lives they choose freely - whether they choose law or chaos, as long as they are good, High King. I do not make Laws. But - as a Servant of your Laws - I do report those that have been broken. I remember when you were a kind man. When you would never suffer Evil to transgress so. Dyne's death and combat in the Arena goes no way to changing the presence of a dead colleague in my halls. She says to Demonfey "Truly - it has been two days now since any have seen my kinder side, Demonfey. If you seek to access and see that side of my nature, you had best find atonement first and be redeemed. And you had best first say things you mean, not those that seem. Until then - as you know - I will not slay you or harm you. I do actually see that some part of you is a good person. It is also true that you cannot be trusted. And know that if you are Evil - you will not be wantonly slain. But - your presence at our Halls - except in the area sactioned - will be a hostile action and you will be dealt with accordingly. We will also come after you as soon as we are prepared. And we will lay siege to the Dark Tower - and expunge you from the face of the earth. And we will destroy the Skygge artifact. For any who claim mercy - you will be spared - and any who seeks redemption - you will be guided and spared. |

But, I'm not. But, this guy is." With that, a Purple Dragon comes into the chamber. He is dressed like most of the Order, but instead of a purple cloak, his is white. He walks over to Demonfey and heals his wound, and the hole in his chest shrinks until it is no more. |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 02:33 AM | It all would still hurt. Also, it took a potion to reattach it. I did it to make a point that guys with swords would not cut it in this case. |

| Droga11-28-04, 02:40 AM | "Finally you declare war openly. You have waged your war for many a day now. To finally hear your vicious evils spoken out loud. It makes me grin little swine. How do you plan to defeat our entire race and our great lord? You cannot. You are a simple, and foolish creature. You will never claim victory. You... will... fail......." Droga rises into the air, slamming his claws down infront of Sil. The shockwave traveling through the ground beneath her. He growls, bringing his face up to eye level with Silmarien. | Tenzhi11-28-04, 03:05 AM | Query: What is the Karses Stone? |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 03:07 AM | An artifact that Sil gave us IG that is basically the source of the Shadow Weave and a huge source of arcane energy. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 03:08 AM | That was from the first one that I took for Droga. I've never shot at Droga. I telekinesed Droga a bit. He's never been burned by Silverstarfire. TENZHI!! The Karsestone - is.....hang on, I'll get you a URL from H/E Foundation - it's too hard to sum up in a one liner... |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 03:11 AM | Well, it's too late now. The thread had quite a bit around that, and to change it would just make things more confusing on the thread. Just go with the thread past, built by assumptions on the flash of light heading between Droga's eyes. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 03:14 AM | Oh. You may remember that I said "the action isn't completed yet" - the power was revving up - I was waiting for Frosty to return to do something. Guyz - you have to remember as your DM - one of my roles is to provide the basis for conflict. "Nice" D&D is an oxymoron (impossibility). But - as a person - Demonfey - I get the sense that you're a very good person and I really like having you around. Regards stav Tenzhi [quote]Rilya and Alcare are guarded by Maxa - who is Anglar's close friend. Maxa and Anglar strove in Menzoberranzan, 1000 years ago to reorder the Drow world and install the new First Ruling House of Menzoberranzan. Maxa has summoned a gathering of the Half-Elves, and he is in the Hall of Readings with the rest of Peredhil Halls for an urgent meeting. Maxa - a Drow - stands and says "the balance of power has shifted, by Mystra's return of the Karsestone to the Guild of Evil." He talks in very focussed, but urgent tones. "This event has no precedent - and we do not understand why the Lady of Magic has done this. Our Loremasters think, however, that the Karesestone's presence has become an urgent necessity in Realmspace, and the Diviners have gleaned that 100 dead Versemasters materialised and channeled more power into the Prime than has been known since the raising of Arnandahar. It was also gleaned that Mystra wrested the Karsestone from Shar - only to Gift it to the Guild of Evil. We do not understand why she has done this, and it is of grave concern to us that these events have transpired. The Faith of the less stalwart Clerics of Mystra have been shaken in their Faith, but the senior members of the clergy say that while they do not understand Mystra's purpose on this matter - that their Faith consoles them. For - who of us can second guess She - who can see all our magical powers materialise in her consciousness, 180 days before we manifest them ourselves. For, Mystra can see any magic materialise in our world, 180 days into the future and into the past. Our Loremasters also speak of "distortions" in the magical power matrix of our world." He opens a Volume that he has on the table in front of him. Its heavy leather cover thuds on the table as he opens it. It reads Karsus Avatar and the Karsestone When Ialoum vanished, Karsus was beside himself with fear for the Netherese Empire. For, Ialoum was the first Archmage of Netheril and he was many thousands of years old. All thought him invincible and immortal and he was an Archmage of formidable power and a symbol to the Netherese people of permanence and safety. So, when Ialoum went missing, the Netherese panicked, thinking that their doom was upon them. In his folly, Karsus sought to save the Netherese, by daring a magic that none had ever conceived. For, Karsus had been working for many years on his spell Karsus Avatar - a magic that promised to steal the power of a god and bestow it to a Mortal. When Ialoum vanished, Karsus filled his body with Whole Magic. This substance was a highly unstable material and it altered the properties of magical spells, vastly increasing spellpower in a caster. Thus, with his body swelled by Whole Magic, Karsus cast his spell Karsus Avatar - and even as he completed the final moment of the Spell, Mystryl, Goddess of Magic and the Weave was drained of her magic - and it was transferred to Karsus. Karsus was now - now God of Magic - and in the moment of his Ascention, he discovered his folly. For, he could not regulate the flow of magic into Realmspace, because his mind was unable to perceive all that Mystyrl's mind could. And the Mythals of that time were an enourmous drain on magic, and Karsus needed all his concentration to sustain them. For a brief period of time, all magic on the earth was doubled, causing great rents in the Weave and the creation of Dead Magic Zones all over Realmspace. Seeing the ruin all about her, Mystryl sacrificed herself, severing her tie to Karsus and in this act, Karsus was killed. In the Moment of No Magic that followed, all the great flying Netherese cities plummetted to earth, destroying tens of thousands of inhabitants and utterly destroying all but three flying cities. And, even as Karsus fell, his last sight was of the ruin of Netheril and he witnessed the destruction of all his friends, family and loved ones, before becoming the Karsestone - the last vestige of Whole Magic in our world. After the Fall of Netheril, Mystryl reincarnated herself as Mystra - and thence, magic was returned to Realmspace. Three of the Netherese cities were spared, being so high in the sky when magic was halted. Mystra, lowered the three floating cities to the ground. But the Karsestone was taken by the City of Shades - who teleported the entire city to the Plane of Shadow. There the Karsestone remained for 1500 years, before another conflagration, where Shar secured the Karsestone." He looks at you - "but" he adds with urgency "Mystra did battle with Shar in the Plane of Shadow, this day, and the Karsestone was stolen by Mystra - and Gifted to the Guild of Evil". His face registers shock. The gravity of the event only beginning to sink it. "We do not know why Mystra has done this" [/color][quote] |

| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 03:28 AM | Well, it certainly accomplished the same goal it would have if you completed it. About shame, and this is stav again. I would be ashamed if it was the case that I had hurt anyone's feelings - and would freely apologise for that. I rely on you guyz to take the IG posts in good spirits. About Sil: in truth - Demonfey - you act more like a good character - and good characters healing evil one's is a bit strange. Sil - is actually a very generous PC - and she'll do anything for a loyal friend. But - she's neutral good. Her ethos: Uphold law if it serves good. Defy law if it used to serve evil Show compassion to the sick, wounded, the repenting, and even the Damned - but - only when they are immobilised or repentant. She's a fiercely devoted mother and husband. She is generous with her Lore - and will never betray a True Heart. And - if you get on her good side, she makes a powerful ally. As an enemy, she is formidable. She's also very sorry for the awful things that have happened IG - but she's not going to change any of it. There are to be no more liches or Undead at the Half-Elven Foundation except in the special area for Council that is specially warded. And - the mere presence of evil - over the last few days has been a real threat to us and a very scary experience for the half-elves. They will fight - to keep Droga away. It is a very serious matter that we have lost a comrade by Droga's sword swing. And - no-one can wash that away. The comrade has chosen not to return to life, the clerics have tried. In all seriousness - I'm really grateful to Droga for provoking the conflict. We've had more posts the last two days than we've had in six months. So - thank you to Droga for being such a true bad guy. Sauron would be proud of you. regards stav |
| BronzeBeard11-28-04, 03:31 AM | She's a fiercely devoted mother and husband. Wife, Sil, Wife. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 03:34 AM | Wonder what Freud would have to say about that one. regards stav |
| Tenzhi11-28-04, 06:46 AM | and good characters healing evil one's is a bit strange. Not really. Providing respite to the suffering - regardless of alignment - is a sure sign of pure Good. Denying such respite is at best the action of a flawed Good alignment - as is showing open hatred for another or wishing their destruction/suffering for purely emotional reasons. Any action or desire that can turn you to the Dark Side may be safely labelled as Not Very Good. |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 11:13 AM | Good must show mercy. Good must show compassion. Good must show care not to do evil. The Book of Exalted Deeds says that the ends don't justify the means. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-28-04, 12:31 PM | The High King has been swayed. New laws shall be built. Frostbite goes into a deep slumber for a second before coming back. Suddenly energy comes out of his hands and hits the wall. Growing out from the center of energy is runes in common. They state: 1) No harm shall come to one in his own home. That person has all right to defend themselves. 2) All persons have a right to defend themselves. 3) No person shall commit an act of offense without a full declaration of open war. 4) No foundation has right to rule over another foundation. If they capture it they have to give it back or destroy it. 5) The pain of the innocent shall not be tolerated in the slightest bit but nor shall the innocent take to war. (= No harming children, Don’t harm men or women unless they go to war against you.) 6) All Oaths sworn in the name of the gods are irreversible, neither they nor the High King can change that. 7) Honor is life and must be upheld. (Sorry Bait ;) ) 8) All laws take into effect after this and thus no person can be prosecuted based on these laws up until now. This is with the exception of the first law. And So it is spoken. These laws will be upheld to the fullest extent of my powers and of those in favor of the law. -Frosty |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 04:30 PM | Very nice Frosty. That's much better. The Sovereign has the right to enforce such laws In-Game. Good must show mercy. Good must show compassion. Good must show care not to do evil. The Ends may justify the means for Chaotic Good - in some circumstances (where Law fails the Good or fails the People and it can be demonstrated that the Law is archaic, or results in greater harm than it purports to prevent). Lawful Goods don't have that freedom. Chaos - is about the defiance or ignoring of law. The Book of Exalted Deeds says that the ends don't justify the means. Doesn't apply for Undead. Doesn't apply for Chaotic Evil in action. Lich's, Vampires, Ghouls, Mummies - and the sentient Evil Undead - are not Living. Their very existed is in violation of the Laws of Life. Vampires don't reason - except to maximise their chance of conspiring or plotting of doing vampiric acts (not like vampires in Interview with a Vampire, or Buffy's Spike - but Stephen King's Mr Barlow kind of Vampire.). Also - compassion - applied to an Undead - is Un-Undeading it - or putting it out of its misery. And defence of one's home, when a marauding plotter is coming through the door..... Just because Sauron was dressed fair and seemed fair - does not mean he *was* fair. The reason the war of Sauron and the Elves broke out, was after 900 years of false pretences. 900 years of allowing the Dark Lord to grow in power while he mastered Ring Lore resulted in another 3000 years of war about the Rings. The Noldor were seduced by Sauron - to the ruin of the world. If people want to further discuss alignment we should move this discussion to thasis's alignment threads. regards stav |
| Droga11-28-04, 04:32 PM | OOC: Well those laws seem to lean toward the good... how are we evils supposed to be all evil and vile when we cant hurt innocents. Sometimes you just gotta make the innocent suffer to make the good angry. It seems to have worked wonders for me already... |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 04:37 PM | OOC: Well those laws seem to lean toward the good... how are we evils supposed to be all evil and vile when we cant hurt innocents. Sometimes you just gotta make the innocent suffer to make the good angry. It seems to have worked wonders for me already... OK since this comment is about Frosty's Laws - let's have it here. It's On-Topic Droga, I agree. From your point of view - those laws are very confining, and if I were Chaotic Evil, I would be resisting them too. Sil, supports those rules - from a very Sil-centred perspective. But more broadly - Stav supports anything Frosty chooses as King - and I'll look forwards to using his Laws to see where they take us. My pitch is that your IG characters are *supposed* to interact with those rules and you are supposed to actually do "what comes naturally" for your character. So, if Droga despised those laws (and he would - and Sil, for that matter thinks that Law without Chaos is a very dangerous thing). As Sil - she will object and start a Palace Uprising if the Laws result in death and hardship for the Free. Regards stav |
| Droga11-28-04, 04:41 PM | *stocks up on instant death items* Ok, now I can break the laws and hold off the ungodly throne ward things that keep me from breaking the laws... which don't seem to do too much in reality... |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 04:59 PM | *chuckles* Droga *GO FOR IT* - we actually rely on Droga to do its thang. Or else we have no game @Tenzhi Implicit in all laws *is* emotion. The emotions associated with Harm-Avoidance, and blame in fact (for harm having occurred "you did it"). It is often claimed that Law is a passionless thing, and devoid of emotion. This is false. Law is deeply ensconced and coded up with emotion. We try to structure law so that we avoid harm - and - if harm comes about, because of bad laws - emotion from the one's harmed is used to change law. But - this is Stav now - not Sil. My personal views on morality are not really for this discussion except to say that, in a nutshell, I believe in "ethical, boundaried, compassion" (show compassion for evil doers when they are contained, basically) but do everything you can to contain evil doers if they are running amok in society. But Sil - she obeys the Oath of Peace She looks to the Throne and sees that the High King has tried to be guided by Wisdom. She turns to the High King and says "With that act, I may one day forgive your trangression. For - nothing shall return my lost Kinsman. Her eyes well with *emotion* - and she says. If by seeing mine Grief - you were moved to rethink your Laws - then I am content. She looks imploringly at the High King, leaning on her staff as she speaks. "But - you *should* send the ThroneWards after Droga - and he will not obey your Laws." She turns to look at Droga, her Silverstarfire Aura is still incandescent. Then she looks at you, knowing that you wonder about what is "good" and what is "evil" at this time. For that has been the Gift from the battle before the Throne. The chance to reflect upon your morals and to understand what you are and how you do things. She looks outwards from her world and into yours and says. I obey the Oath of Peace. And I shall declare that here - before the Throne. And I shall re-affirm my Oath - that before the Throne Wards and before Rh'iel - ALL shall know it. Do not Kill when Maiming will suffice Do not Maim when Imprisonment will suffice Do not Imprison when Stern Words will Suffice Do not use Stern Words when Gentleness will Suffice She looks at you and adds "think free but be True. Take risks and be brave but only for the cause that Serves our striving towards Health and Wellbeing. Do not tolerate falsity and strive to use your voice when to fail to do so would result in Evil Delayed. Stav says Follow your alignment as you interpret it, and I expect you to "be what you are" In-Game. I'm wondering if your PC's should have a statement of your moral code - like the gods have their Dogma in their write-ups. Stav |
| Droga11-28-04, 05:08 PM | Droga laughs loudly. Echoing through the palace, his dark laugh is heard in all areas of it. He turns his red eyes upon Silmarien. "PEACE!? You claim to uphold a vow of peace!? Lies yet again you vile wench. You have done nothing but instigate war since I arrived in your world. You have done NOTHING to futher PEACE! You strike down my people without cause. You come at me and attempt to have me slain at every chance! You LIE, vile wench. PEACE!? The only peace you will ever have is in death! For your life is nothing but a war upon that which does not think the same as you..." Droga roars again, his eyes shifting to the high king. He narrows his eyes and growls. "So much for neutrality ruler of swine. Your laws will not be tolerated. For they are a direct act against myself and my allies. You let this damnedable wench go free when she has slain one of us. Though it breaks your law she has not even been tried! So much for neutrality. You side with those disgusting beings who would call themselves good." |

| Dyne11-28-04, 06:46 PM | Dyne sighs at Droga's destruction. With a wave of his hand, the columns rise up and are put in their rightful place. They seem as good as they were before Droga came, if not better, and show not a scratch on their surface. |
| turalisj11-28-04, 06:49 PM | the council hasn't been slaying skygge only. the hunt down ALL evil outsiders. including demons, devils, and the like. |

| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 07:46 PM | Actually, it does. It says that all good characters must refrain from stuff like attacking those who beg for mercy. Each thing that I said could relate to the situation in the court. Three things: 1. Each character is free to interpret their alignment in their own way. But they may be asked to justify their choices at times by the GMs (Sil included). 2. Evil Undead are exempt. They don't 'beg for mercy' except if it's a trick. And being Undead - and not alive, are exempt from Sil's code of morality when it comes to The Oath of Peace. You may each form your own relationship with Undead, however, and Sil's isn't yours. As to why sil is like this. Think again about the chidren being read a bed time story by a Lich. *not* All undead will get blasted automatically if they stray out of their bounds at H/E Foundation. No exceptions - unless - they volunteer themselves to come back to life and rescind their Evil ways. 3. Chaotic Goods *break the rules* that's the point. Under the "Ends don't justify the means" edict, no law is breakable. Thus, a Chaotic (or neutral) good may *break the rules if the ends justifies the means* - but *ONLY* when the ends is GOOD and the means is ill conceived (for goods) and for neutrals, the Ends may be evil. stav |
| Droga11-28-04, 08:02 PM | I hope you really don't beleive all that and its just your character. Theres plenty of good undead that I've seen. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 09:01 PM | I hope you really don't beleive all that and its just your character. Theres plenty of good undead that I've seen. Hi Droga: I don't generally introduce good undead in my campaigns. But - where such beings exist - I'll exempt them (as Sil - or rather Sil will exempt them) - warily. ....for Undead are a violation of the Laws of Life - and as such - they shall be expunged from the face of the earth. However..." she muses thoughtfully "*any* good being is exempt from fire and ruination....but as for the Lich! As for the Vampire who would chill you with life-draining power - and" (as for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and all that stuff about good Vengeance Demons.....) "the Evil glowing red eyes of the Lich who would trap you in a dark corner and rend your body limb from limb in cold blood..... Who is naive enough to think that being kind to a Chaotic Evil vampire would cause it to think of you as ought but prey. The Vampire relies on seduction, devilry and trickery to enact its purpose. It appeals to your vanity - to make you think you can redeem it - then it pounces when you are seduced - and thence - you will be Undead also. I do not suffer this... |

This isn't the right place to talk about that. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 09:17 PM | This isn't the right place to talk about that. Thanx - but as noted - it is if it is in regards to the King's Laws. It's on topic in that regard. A thread may be used to discuss OoG aspects of game, as they speak to the Thread's standards. As such, it is quite OK to discuss your PC's interpretation of the Laws of the Land here OoG or IG if you so choose. Being before the Throne with new Law - we may discuss it. It can also be discussed at the Alignment threads stav |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 09:22 PM | Your talking about how your character responds to undead. Also, there are no "laws of life". That is going a step too far. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 09:38 PM | Thanx again - but what I need to know as well and what would be good for each of us to know - is how your PC interprets the laws. That's about your PC's ethos, and it helps us to know "what to expect" from each other In Game. In that way, we respect each other. It's in the spirit of "Informed Consent". It's perfectly OK to a PC's interpretation of the "Laws of Life" and it's important for Undeads to know where they stand when interacting with the various foundations. And Sil says "Undeath violates the Laws of the Life. They should be dead and their spirits should move on. Thus, Evil Undead will be dealt with - and meet my fires - if they transgress regards stav |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 09:41 PM | The laws of the land should apply to all equally, otherwise they are not fair to all, and thus, biased against one group and not neutral in outlook. That includes the dead. If they are not applicable for all, then we arrive at the same situation that you were in, Silmarien Aldalome. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 09:44 PM | The laws of the land should apply to all equally, otherwise they are not fair to all, and thus, biased against one group and not neutral in outlook. That includes the dead. That's the spirit! That's what we're here for! The King needs to know what the Minions think! "Nay Demoney" Sil says "Undead are not Alive. I do not tolerate their evil and they should be Dead - to obey the Laws of Life. It may include "the Dead" provided they are DEAD - not UNdead". she says |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 09:49 PM | Sil, see past your stereotypes, please. The undead are animate, some are sentient, and therefore, they should have the same rights that the sentient living do. Otherwise, that is unfair to the Risen Dead Foundation. Also, if they are under the protection of the law, then they are bound to not break the law, or face the consequences. You can't deprive them of one and give them the other. They obey the laws of life in their own way. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 10:02 PM | OoG: yes - I spend most of my working day working with my clients to ensure they don't stereotype others and that they look for the "whole" person and that compassion (boundaried - sometimes even "tough love") guides their hand. However - Sil is another matter - and there's no such thing as a "kind" chaotic Evil vampire - in her world. Again - this ain't Buffy - that show has gone a long way to reconstructing Evil as more graded than any absolute standard. However - have you seen Salem's Lot...... ....The Undead are bound to the Prime only by Devilry and Unearthly magic. They exist - outside of the Laws of Life - they are a violation of the Natural Laws of the Universe." She incants - and in a flash of Blue Fire - an ancient leather Tome appears. She turns to the King - speaking to him directly for a moment.....the pages rustle and she says "Ah, yes - here it is" It reads "Vampires - Nosferato the Vampire" The Vampire is an Unnatural Being and it exists in defiance of the natural laws of nature. It is a Supernatural Being. Not a Natural Being - and as such - it conforms to Superatural Laws. It may be destroyed by Light, and it recoils from garlic, and it has no image in a mirror. It knows no compassion. It is merciless and ruthless. It will seduce you when you are vulnerable. It may seem fair - but is foul. It deceives and twists words. It has no conscience and seeks blood for its unending thirst. And it will make you like unto it. "Laws for Undead" - she says - the Law of Compassion asks me to wield my compassion, and for an Undead - that means putting it out of its misery and freeing its soul so that it may continue its journey as a natural being. Not as a supernatural being. A Law - what..." she gestures as she talks "....how can the Law "to do no harm" apply to a being who is not really destroyed by normal means. Vampires and Liches must be destroyed. Lest they ravage my family and ruin and corrupt my friend, so that someone I have known all my life, suddenly looks at me as food and not with love. I will not suffer Undead.... |

You didn't catch the second part of what I said, did you, Sil? If they are protected by the law, then they are also subject to it. Besides, I can't be destroyed by conventional means either. I proved that after decapitating myself. Think about that. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-28-04, 10:15 PM | OOC: Sorry Sil - But I get the name "Frostbite" from a vampire character I used to play. Although in the end he was a werewolf (Different game, different rules) I still gotta love um! The High King says over the chatter "The undead are unnatural creatures, reguardless of their inteligence. However so are Half-Elves. All Creatures, reguardless, are to live under the same laws." -Frosty |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 10:17 PM | Ummm...I think you just contradicted yourself, High King. Live or stay animate under, perhaps? For those who obey the letter of the law? |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 10:18 PM | CURSE YOU, DOUBLE POST!!! CURSE YOU!!! |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-28-04, 10:18 PM | She rises - and moves towards Demonfey - aglow with an aura of Silverstarefire. As she approaches, the blue reflects off your face. And she leans into you and says "Verily! See then all - the truth is spoken! They do not obey natural Laws - and so - what does a Lich care about being struck by a sword, when its phyllectory is hidden in the depths of the earth. What does a Vampire care if it is stuck by a Holy Sword. You" she says to Demonfey "are from another Plane. It serves your purpose to be allowed to exist in our World - and Laws shield you. How convenient" she says with a twist to her smile "You have been warned. And the Laws, in any case permit it." she looks at you, now, whoever you are and her face is an image of appeal and terror. She says to you "this last three days, I have had Evil Liches, Demons and various malevolent creatures walking *wontonly* in my home. My children have been exposed to terror they should never see. They cannot sleep at night, and they are frightened. In my very halls - Evil Outsiders came - using laws designed for Mortals to shield their malice. To plot and scheme - and to secretly plan revenge. I have seen their words - I scry the Guild of Evil every day - and I see this Demonfey's words - when he is not watched. And they are fell". Her face is grim. She turns to Demonfey with grim face and says "shall I quote from your very words Demonfey". |
| Demonfey11-28-04, 10:21 PM | Well, that means it's open season for you at your house, Sil. Besides, I don't care for the protection of the law. Feel free to attack as you wish, Sil. High King! Allow Sil to do as she likes against me. I have no fear of death. And, while I may be extraplanar, I am still native to this plane, Silmarien. I admit, I plot with them, but that means I'm doing my job. |
| Droga11-28-04, 11:07 PM | A soft laugh comes from the corner of the room. The blind Vadok walks out heading toward sil. A wicked grin upon his face. He bows in a mocking manner then raises his sightless eyes to gaze upon silmarien from behind his blindfold. "Well hello there oh great and mighty wench. I see you are ranting yet again of things that go on in your twisted little mind. Spying on us are you? Tsk tsk tsk. Such a mean thing to do little lady. What ever will we do about it now. Perhaps we should spy on you a bit. Whisper to your children in the night. Whisper of the evils you have done in the name of good. Yes. They can be anywhere you know. Perhaps they lie beneath your bed. Perhaps from your closet in the middle of the night, they come forth. You'll never know where they could be. Perhaps you are never alone. Think of that my dear woman. Do you think you are alone? You would be wrong if you said yes. Mmm... what ever shall we do with you? Hmm? What could we possibly do to... help... you. We could babysit while your away. Oh yes... we'll watch the little ones and we'll have SO much FUN! Or maybe we'll just gut something..." Vadok cackles, a wicked laughing taunt that echoes. His sinister grin falls back down as his sightless eyes gaze upon sil once more. |
| turalisj11-29-04, 06:59 AM | as vodak mocks silmarien, 60 arrows are raised as one, aimed at the creatures back. "i advise that you leave these hallowed halls and stop doing your masters bidding. perhaps you should send an envoy to ask for aid from some of the great wyrms. where's our great and lovable dragon judge? i'd looove to see what he has to see about droga..... :D |

For they do not fear Mortals. Whisper to your children in the night. Whisper of the evils you have done in the name of good. Yes. They can be anywhere you know. Perhaps they lie beneath your bed. Perhaps from your closet in the middle of the night, they come forth. Silmarien shudders - and she looks imploringly at the High King. "Do we need to sacrifice children, High King - before our folly is realised?" Her blue aura burns brightly "...for that is the Evil one's wish. See how they relish in their cruelty." she looks Droga in the eyes - his towering shadowy form dwarfs a Mortal of average height "Yea! Verily! Thou art Damned and craven. Moreso for the open defiance of the sanctity of life. What Law should protect thee - when that which thou deserveth is naught but scourging fires" She releases a bolt of Silverstarfire - and it erupts from the Runestaff and explodes in the Throne Room, just above Droga's head in a resounding detonation, shattering stone and raining slivers upon you. The palace rumbles as the echo of the detonation travels through the stonework. Sil looks to the ThroneWards uncomfortably.... "Thou wouldst wield thine power - even to harm the Innocent." She speaks in PluriPotency not against mine children - Daemon! @Turalisj Silmarien bows before Turalisj - and her face softens noticeably. She is warmed by his loyalty - and she Scries into your Universe - reaching into the those beings' worlds who know honour, truth, fidelity and loyalty. She finds this and reinforces that force - by giving unto you in return. For all loyalty is a precious Gift of immeasurable worth - and such a scarce commodity in our times. Something to be sanctified and given the status it deserves. She says to Turlisj - and to all those who understand Turalisj's passion "I do not forget loyalty, Turalisj. Forever it stays with me and I will come when you are in need and when you call. We honour the Giver by Accepting The Gift  |
| Droga11-29-04, 09:10 AM | Silmarien... please learn to read my posts. You do this every time. That was NOT Droga. It was Vadok, his cohort. "Put away the arrows my good man. Here in the king's court you openly draw arms. Oh my, what a violent beast. You need to learn some manners, oh yes yes yes. As for you Silmarien... I am not a demon. I am but a man. Yes, I am very much man, not too far from you. Oh my how violent you are, can't handle words, tsk tsk tsk. Ssssoooomebody needs a spaaaaaaankiiiiing!" Vadok grins widely. Resting a hand on the hilt of his rapier, the other on the neck of a bottle. His sightless eyes watching. He could feel them all, standing around him. They were even more vicious than the skygge. At least they only sent one usually. What violent creatures.. |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 03:20 PM | See High King!! The Laws protect the Undead and Evil Outsiders!! They advantage the Evil Ones and we play right into their hands. For they do not fear Mortals. Go ahead. If you manage to destroy me, I can't come back like Droga, since I am still part mortal, and so am not a soul manifest in physical form. But before that... @Droga: Vadok, you know that entering their guild without permission is against the law. You and any caught there are fair game for Silmarien's wrath, and the power of the Kingswards. @Sil: Now, where were we, before Vadok here interrupted what I was saying? Ah, yes. What I was trying to say is that plots are just that: plots. Until they are put into action, they can be derailed and are not actually wrong. In fact, you plot the demise of the Guild of Ultimate Evil at all times, even now. Now, to both of you, I would like to suggest a deal: You stop spying on us, Sil, and I will do my best to convince the GoUE not to send the skygge. If I fail, then I will tell you myself, and then espionage is fair game between the two groups. In the mean time, any spies found on either side will be dealt with as unwanted intruders into our homes, and be killed. |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 03:49 PM | They state: 1) No harm shall come to one in his own home. (Sorry Bait ) 8) All laws take into effect after this and thus no person can be prosecuted based on these laws up until now. This is with the exception of the first law. @Sil: These were the laws stated, Sil. They also defend you to the same extent, if not more. @Frosty: Now, either Sil or myself will list the crimes I have commited in the GoUE, and my crimes alone. This is to make Sil a happier person. 1. I killed a paladin in self defense and immolated the head when I entered. 2. I have plotted many ideas that are interesting, mainly a framing in the Rilla mystery and some arson, but that last one is simply because I like fire and am fire. :) 3. I have plotted tapping into the Karse Stone in a number of ways. These were before you made these laws. I wonder how you will judge them. @Sil: Do you see how little impact the threat of death has for me now? I have lived for 20,000 years, and have seen more than most. I can die without caring. |
| Silmarien Aldalome11-29-04, 04:36 PM | g'day dude - good to see you. Have you seen the Orcy stuff for Foundation Tourny!!! ...her eyes narrow at Demonfey's words - it's clear she doesn't believe a word he says. She turns to Vadock - "that's no way to talk to a lady, now is it Vadock" she says. Turning back to the High King she says: "Sovereign - thou shouldst send all thine forces into the lands - to dismember the Guild of Evil and totally annihilate it - removing it from the face of the earth forever! And each Guild of Evil Bearers likewise! The warlocks convene in Counsel, and the Undead gather. The lands are haunted by evil spirits as the minions of darkness grow in number. The Council of Archmages has been infiltrated and evil beings are trusted in the inner circles. Dost thou realise the danger this brings us? Should the Archmages mount an attack - not even the High King would withstand that if Evil assists them. We are in great danger |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 04:50 PM | You don't believe me? After I showed you my mind in its entirety? After you saw everything else about my cold, black heart, you still do not believe my words? I have no use for lying at the moment, and so I shall not lie. I have meant every word here with all sincerity. Is that not enough? Then I swear by the fires of Garyx, the Dragon god of Fire, Destruction, and Renewal that I have not lied to you now. I have lied in the past, but not while I have been talking to you in the halls of the High King. Will that satisfy you? A vow that, no matter who makes it, must only be true, otherwise they shall be smitten down by that god? |
| Droga11-29-04, 04:53 PM | "Suuuuch a violent temper. You would ask the king to destroy an guild simply for your pleasure? How evil. You are a sick and twisted woman. Such a vile creature. Wanting to kill all these people, oh my, genocide hmm? Well then king, I ask that you destroy the half elven foundation. They are everywhere, getting into everyones business. Sticking their noses where they dont belong. They are a plague on the lands. In our eyes of course. But the same would go for you wouldnt it sillymary? Ooooooh the chaos it would cause. The king would of course have to die if he brought his forces to the guild of evil's door. Oh yes. They wouldnt allow that in the least. Not to mention you would end up dead before they were gone... hmm... and the children... and the building destroyed... oh and so much more." Vadok leaned close to silmarien and kissed her on the cheek. Dancing around her a bit lauging loudly. He stopped and a wicked grin spread across his face. "You know... we really should get rid of you..." |
| Demonfey11-29-04, 04:57 PM | Vadok, I've been wondering this for a while. Why do you talk like that? Is it a habit that makes you draw out words when you talk about violence? |
| Dyne11-29-04, 11:33 PM | Sil, your character sounds more like Chaotic Good than Neutral Good to me. She seems like quite a rebel, especially how willing she seems to start uprisings and not follow the law to the letter. |

Some time later, he returns. "You are a fool, Silmarien. You ARE more violent than even that as Droga. I cannot believe I trusted you as an ally. You are worthless to me, you only stand in my way for power. You shall die the death of a hypocrite." The elf scoffs at the one called Silmarien. |
| Droga11-30-04, 01:46 PM | "Yes, quite the harsh little demonic thing isnt she. I wouldnt be supprised if she had a bit of demon blood in her somewhere. All this talk about slaughtering an entire race of peoples. Sooo, violent. Suuuuch a great idea though. Maaaybe we'll have to try it sometime. Tell everyone we got the idea from good ol Silmarien here." |

| Tenzhi11-30-04, 04:24 PM | where's our great and lovable dragon judge? i'd looove to see what he has to see about droga..... :D He generally likes Droga as a character, and were this a scenario to be judged the player would be getting high marks for roleplay. At this point, any contentions Tenzhi would have IC are with Silmarien for whom he would have many words with about "Natural Law" versus "Supernatural Law" - especially that bit about it being merciful to end a Supernatural creature's life, Tenzhi being a highly Supernatural being himself. And like Q mocking Picard, he would go on to lambaste the xenophobic Elvish ways that have wormed themselves into her blood, causing her to dismiss any life that does not conform to her own views of life as being Wrong. He might in fact go on to state that beings birthed by Negative energy have just as much right to exist as those birthed by Positive. And then he might lament on her inability to comprehend such matters, she being a creature of limited and narrow perspective confined by her own physical and spiritual form to a prison not of her making. Luckily, he's not here right now, as he has a tendency to turn everything into a great debate - possibly it is one of the Supernatural Laws that defines his Supernatural existence. ;) |

| Demonfey11-30-04, 08:02 PM | I know. What I mean is, I could swear I knew it from a long time ago... |
| Dyne11-30-04, 08:06 PM | I know. What I mean is, I could swear I knew it from a long time ago... "Don't know about that. I just know I can't stand the name. Can't really stand her either, though." In case you guys haven't noticed yet, Dyne hasn't been acting his usual self lately. It's up to the good guys to figure out what's wrong with him, and it's up to the evil guys to try and conceal it from them. Just to add something of interest and randomness/chaos to the whole mix. |
| Demonfey11-30-04, 08:08 PM | Wait...do you know of any druidesses from about 20 generations back in your family tree, Sil? |
| Droga11-30-04, 10:55 PM | "Oh my, 20 generations of that disgusting thing? Well thats just a bit too much. Going to have to make sure theres not twenty oooone. Oh yes, she muuust be stopped. It would be sooo much better for us if we didnt have to deal with... that thing anymore. Can you imagine another her? Why, with two of her there would be enough hatred for a few hundred different races. I mean reaaaaallly, how can someone who claims to be so good be so evil and vile. What a disgusting little creture." |
| Demonfey12-01-04, 03:44 PM | Vadok, don't butt in. In any case, it could be longer ago. Silmarien would not have been alive all of them, and would be the twentieth, or possibly somewhere in the twenties. It would be on the elven side of your family. |
| Droga12-01-04, 04:13 PM | "You truely are an annoyance crowley. You support our enemies more than your own allies. What a despicable little man you are. You know she is a monster that muuust be destroyed. She'll die given time, theres no question about that. She is after all just a pathetic little mortal woman." |
| Demonfey12-01-04, 04:21 PM | Vadok, right now I want to find out if I knew one of her ancestors. In any case, did I ever swear total loyalty to any of the guilds I am a part of? No. I am the wildcard, and the fact that I have nine other personalities with differing viewpoints just makes it worse. I am evil the majority of the time, with neutrality being about two months a year and actual good being one day every two thousand years. My mind was shattered into multiple portions by an experiment with an artifact, and now this is what I have to go through every waking moment. {As he says this, his body splits into ten parts. Each one is a different form, and none of them look happy. You realize that they are an illusion as he walks through one of the other nine. Those nine then begin to fight.} Each one of these is their own person, with their own abilities. I can't control them, because their chaos is what makes me what I am. All I can do is try and curb the extremes. {The other images fade, and you suddenly feel he has the most confusing mind you have ever seen.} |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart12-01-04, 10:45 PM | I didn't know where to post this so it would be public and be in the right spot but seeing as this is the only true thread that involves me: Wrestling season has started up again and I don't come home until 6:00 as night. Then I got to shower and eat and do my homework and still get enough sleep for school. So while I'm not going away - I will have to keep my posts down to a bare minimum. For example: I won't jump onto the H/E Discussion thats already packed talking about Sil's PrC( Which I'm very tempted to post strong comments on but I will hold my toung for my then one reason ) but I will definitly answer anything here and for another example I will probably still watch over the CoA. It will end by next year ;) -Frosty |

| De Batavier12-02-04, 08:29 AM | Greetings all. The Warlock Circle is looking for allies. We our only a small group and need protection in the coming conflict. Which i think can't be provided by the king or his laws. We welcome all that come to us with a serieus diplomatic offer  |
| Demonfey12-02-04, 03:39 PM | Greetings. I believe that you could join us at the Children of the Planes for protection. Although we currently are small, we have suitable protection. Please send a representative over to talk about it with our council. |
| Droga12-02-04, 04:05 PM | "Crowley, did you forget that I am blind? I can't see your little other personalities anyway, soooo... it doesnt matter. As far as I'm concerned your just another half breed. The more you speak the more I don't like you... But good news! It doesn't matter what I think, Only what lord Droga does. He, still finds you useful for the time being." |
| Demonfey12-02-04, 04:10 PM | And vice-versa, Vadok. And yes, I did forget that you were blind. If you want, I could fix that for you...and also make you be able to shoot disintegrating beams from your eyes. In any case, I know I'm a halfbreed, and I know things that you and Silmarien don't. I don't care any more. Besides, if what I believe is proven true, then you will like the look on Sil's face, if you allow me to ply my art of grafting beholder parts. Don't worry, you will still retain your blindsight. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart12-02-04, 09:57 PM | "You! You bastard of an orc *****! You dare insult me in my own domain while you have so little one of your own? Sorry for a dialog only Post ;). -Frosty EDIT: Wow I never knew they censored out the word *****, its not even a swear. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-02-04, 09:58 PM | Orcy heard Orc... but uh... who was that directed at? |
| Demonfey12-02-04, 09:59 PM | Greetings all. The Warlock Circle is looking for allies. We our only a small group and need protection in the coming conflict. Which i think can't be provided by the king or his laws. We welcome all that come to us with a serieus diplomatic offer High King, you are teetering on a good/evil balance right now. I believe it was directed at De Batiever. |
| Von Crown12-02-04, 10:00 PM | Wow I never knew they censored out the word *****, its not even a swear. Haha.. that's funny but I'm not sure why... I think I'm getting tired. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart12-02-04, 10:16 PM | Sorry Orcy. The term orc is kinda in the High Kings vocab as a derogitive word, not a racist word. [Edit: Some will take this the wrong way thinking me the racist beacuse they are too thickheaded to read the whole damn thing. In any case I will edit this to stop possible problems.] Wow that was off-topic. Anyways Demonfey what would you do if I came into your home and said you sucked. Remeber this is the High Kings home right here. Unless you specificly say that your outside or thinking to yourself...your talking directly to me or at least in my presence. Or better yet...what would have sil of said ;). I will agree that hes teetering but more on a law/chaos then good/evil. -Frosty |
| Demonfey12-02-04, 10:31 PM | Sil would have nuked him. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 12:42 AM | Hmmm, perhaps we need a little more randomness... "Silmarien Aldalome is an abomination. I can not stand her presence here any longer." With that, he launches a pure black ball that seems to flicker as a flame as it heads toward Silmarien. The ball of blackness explodes in scorching dark flame around the half-elf. He used a Shadow Evocation of Fireball, CL 15, 10d6 damage, Save DC 28, can't remember all the details and I might have made a few errors that I'll have to change later. Let me remind everyone that I have nothing against Silmarien or the person who plays as that character. This is a challenge that Silmarien and her allies will have to overcome. Hint: Dyne is not like his usual self. Find out why. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-03-04, 04:12 AM | OK - Dyne, Before I engage with your post, I need more reassurance that this is not a grudge match. The way I read it, you may want to get even with me for disagreeing with you and I am worried that you are using In-Game things to do so. I do apologise if I have got this wrong. However, I am very happy to engage the game-RP - but again, before I do so, I need a clear indication that you have retained your sense of fun and goodwill about this. Can you please PM me and tell me your truth about this. Regards Stavros Panaiotis Mihailidis |

Because you failed to respond when Silmarien lumped us Warlocks on one heap with the guild of evil in these very same halls. If the one who should defend all, doesn't rise to protect us, we seek others to do so. And this is the place where all send their diplomats. I'll be gone now and we'll see what last longer, the Warlocks or your failing power to keep the peace Well i also figured that this thread would be used for diplomatic overtures. Can you please PM me and tell me your truth about this. Regards Stavros Panaiotis Mihailidis What? I don't do grudge matches. They are stupid. It just happens that your character is the only one here besides Frostbite (the king) and my own characters that is good (or, at least not evil). I would rather not attack the High King because I would have Demonfey and Throne Wards after me, all of which are much higher level than I am. And, I don't want to fight against myself because that would be ridiculous. This seriously has much relevence to the game. All the different characters have to figure out what is going on with Dyne. Solving the mystery will reveal much, so the reward will just be that knowledge (and knowledge is power). Stav, I'm not trying to flame you or anything. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-03-04, 06:35 PM | What? Dyne, I wanted this in writing. So, if at some future point, I catch any whiff that you have deceived me, I will be furious with you and there will be a public record of that, so the point is not in dispute. A poster has done this one to me before. It was said on a thread, "no, I'm not mad at you" and the RP was hysterically anti-sil, and then I get this PM from a poster who was in the know saying "nup - he was angry with you, and the RP is how he expressed it". At that point, I shut it all down - in public - and in public, I confronted the lying poster (within the bounaries of the CoC). The second thing is - if this is "I'll copy Sil's powers and let her have it - 'see how do you like facing you'" - to make a point - yup - you can do that too - but 1. I want it said in the open. I don't have covert agendas in my campaigns, only overt ones. 2. That begs the question of "narrative ownership". As your GM, I have the right (or privilege, if you prefer) of managing the mythology of the overall campaign. The other two GMs have the same powers, and the Judges (with their DR posts) have that power concurrently (with consultation - and subject to veto). The High King also has some of that privilege. In this regard, I have shared that role around, and Frosty has two bites of the cherry. Individual campaigners, don't have that level of ownership over chunks of the mythology. But - they do have the power to introduce their own ideas as well. Just like you can in a normal campaign. There is a condition. That condition is that any substantial theme - must go through the GM. That is, you have to tell me what you're up to if the concept has substantial trickle-down effects for the whole mythology. Then - you have to trust that I won't release your idea to the other gamers. But, you can sure as hell bet that I will monitor the progress of your revelations. That's my job. Bottom line: I am very happy for you to apply your creative powers and wonderful energy to the job at hand. But, with conditions - and without further obstruction of the GM. While I've got your attention - your GM is supposed to introduce challenges for you that are difficult. What you haven't grasped yet, is that Sil has NPC properties. That is exactly why she has stayed out of the competitions, so far (all the combat ones - she does contribute to IG-Ones like the underdark). In fact, I am thinking about staying out of all the competitions, and only getting XP thru her RP posts and encounters. I've been really upset by the accusations that I don't listen. I think that was probably close to a disgraceful suggestion. So - before we proceed, I need reassurance that these terms are acceptable, and then I will be happy to work with you on your introducing your game concepts into our mythology. I will also look forwards to further in-game confrontation before the throne. Subject to the terms of this Post. Do you got any more questions, before proceeding? |
| Dyne12-03-04, 07:19 PM | PMing.... Well, I don't believe Dyne will be a Verse Master. It doesn't really fit my style, never has. That, and I like to stick to the core stuff. I don't usually use homebrew stuff unless I've busted my butt to make it balanced and to make it fit. One of my characters has a staff that I made up myself. I didn't just cram things together wherever I felt like it, though. I used to rules from the SRD for making a staff and the costs of it and everything. The staff is as balanced and such as I could make it. The plot is actually really minor. It does not affect the overall scheme of things, but it relates to future PC vs. PC conflicts and such, stuff that the Players can contribute to the game without disrupting it. I did not make any mistakes in the stats of the spell I cast. Since the Caster Level and the Save DC doesn't match Dyne's stats (and they shouldn't), that gives a big clue to what is going on. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 07:25 PM | any1 know if there has ever been a giants foundation? |
| Dyne12-03-04, 07:28 PM | any1 know if there has ever been a giants foundation? I think Giants were included in a foundation that combined Goblinoids and Trolls. I can't remember totally. It should be on the 2nd or 3rd page, it's title is all capital letters (standing for it's full name, which is too long to fit). Also, check Orcy's Foundation Compendium. It's stickied, and it has all the different foundations in it. If you don't find a Giants Foundation in there, then none exists. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 07:54 PM | A reminder of what has happened (or, IS happening): "Silmarien Aldalome is an abomination. I can not stand her presence here any longer." | turalisj12-03-04, 07:55 PM | you want to play it that way? |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:05 PM | you want to play it that way? What do you mean? |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:11 PM | right behind you! oh, and used darkness "you shall do no killing here." a voice behind dyne says as darkness creeps around him. the hilt of the sword slammed into dyne's back. i think i took care of that.....thank you darknes! |

[sigh] If you want to kill off my character, at least do it by the D&D rules. I.e. I cast Darkness. [next round] I move up and attack Dyne with my sword. Besides, if you cast Darkness, then you wouldn't be able to see Dyne. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:23 PM | i have darkvision. besides, i was already next to you. :P if anyone with dv would like to help, they are more then welcome...... |
| Sssargoth12-03-04, 08:24 PM | i have darkvision. besides, i was already next to you. :P if anyone with dv would like to help, they are more then welcome...... DV doesn't work in magical darkness. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:25 PM | i have darkvision. besides, i was already next to you. :P if anyone with dv would like to help, they are more then welcome...... Read the Darkness spell. Darkvision doesn't even work under the effect of it. And, you still didn't carry it out by the D&D rules. If you're going to use Darkness, then say so. Then, give me a chance to do my turn. Perhaps this should be carried out elsewhere? Maybe in the Arena? |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:25 PM | darn....owell. i can still try to hit him..... |
| Tenzhi12-03-04, 08:25 PM | [sigh] If you want to kill off my character, Using the hilt of a sword is generally considered a non-lethal method of subdual. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:27 PM | Read the Darkness spell. Darkvision doesn't even work under the effect of it. And, you still didn't carry it out by the D&D rules. If you're going to use Darkness, then say so. Then, give me a chance to do my turn. Perhaps this should be carried out elsewhere? Maybe in the Arena? actually, you started the fight by provoking an AoO when you cast you're spell. i was right next to you. and plus i can have my men attack at any time. i have 10 of them here, plus my cohort. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:28 PM | Using the hilt of a sword is generally considered a non-lethal method of subdual. Didn't notice that. All I saw was "I cast darkness then kill you with my sword!" By-the-way, I should probably tell all the judges what-the-heck's going on. It's not that significant (at least, I don't think it is), but I should probably PM the details to the judges anyway. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:29 PM | actually, you started the fight by provoking an AoO when you cast you're spell. i was right next to you. and plus i can have my men attack at any time. i have 10 of them here, plus my cohort. Next to me? I wasn't aware that you were next to me? I wasn't aware that people were keeping track of their positions in the Throneroom. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:32 PM | i have a ranger next to each pillar and my cohort next to sil. all i'm trying to do is knock you unconscious. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:34 PM | i have a ranger next to each pillar and my cohort next to sil. all i'm trying to do is knock you unconscious. Hmmm. Whatever. Take your AoO. Make an attack roll. EDIT: By ranger, I take it you mean PC/cohort/follower? Which one attacked Dyne? |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:36 PM | that would be me. each of my men will have to make a seperate initiative roll i suppose... |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:37 PM | Wait, wouldn't you have to make an initiative roll anyway? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 08:38 PM | Gurgetar heard some commotion coming from the palace. Standing in the doorway he watched the battle going on before him. He chuckled, it was that fool of a half dragon trying to fight someone yet again. "Ya know... Turalisj was it? You should just run away before ya get yerself killed. You seem to be good at that. This aint a place you wanna be playin either pal. As for you buddy, don't know who ya are, but you should just give up before that good ol king man starts sending things to do the stabbin." |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 08:41 PM | {As Dyne attacks Sil, Crowley sighs and uses time stop. He then casts a wall of force spell around Sil, and returns to the normal flow of time.} |
| Tenzhi12-03-04, 08:41 PM | Wait, wouldn't you have to make an initiative roll anyway? Initiative doesn't matter for AoOs. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:42 PM | "this vile creature has deliberatly tried to kill a foundation leader, he must be stopped before more people get injured.next thing you know he will be going after you, then the high king himself.no, he must be stopped now!" comes a voice from the dark cloud. edit: missed. his ac is too freakin high. i doubt even orcy could hit him. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:44 PM | Initiative doesn't matter for AoOs. I didn't know that you could make AoO's while flat-footed. Anyway, this wasn't intended just for RP and flavor. This will be conducted the same way as Arena combat. I will be using the same die roller as is used in the Mountain Top Arena. My username will be Dyne vs. SilTR1 Initiative: 17 |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:46 PM | "this vile creature has deliberatly tried to kill a foundation leader, he must be stopped before more people get injured.next thing you know he will be going after you, then the high king himself.no, he must be stopped now!" comes a voice from the dark cloud. edit: missed. his ac is too freakin high. i doubt even orcy could hit him. My stats are different than what is posted in the Player Character and Statistics Thread. Yeah, with that, I HAVE to tell the judges what is going on. My AC is 18 |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:47 PM | oh, then it hit. hold on, let me roll damage......rolling under turalsij5turalisj brings the hilt of his sword down on dyne, just barely hitting. now we roll initiative. and i wont bother with subdual damage any more. it doesnt affect you much. subdual damage=6 |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:50 PM | oh, then it hit. hold on, let me roll damage......rolling under turalsij5 Turalisj, can you post your attack rolls and damage rolls? And what username are you using for the die roller? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 08:50 PM | Lol, Orcy is level 60, he could hit a paragon tarrasque... maybe. Gurgetar is going on an 11 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Gurgetar5#137369 ) in case he wants to get involved. He may get some pets from this, yay. :P :plotting: |
| turalisj12-03-04, 08:54 PM | great, i got a 4..... next is my cohort and my followers. my cohort will be under adronis1 and each of my grunts will be #'s 1-10. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 08:57 PM | Silmarien would take 35 damage from the Shadow Evocation (fireball) on a failed save. "Crowley, you are a traitor to your kind. You do not stand up for your friends, but you protect your enemies. You are a fool. You are doomed to die." |
| Droga12-03-04, 09:06 PM | Vadok grinned widely, an evil look that would send chills down the spines of even strong men. He turned toward Turalij and readied himself to jump into the battle. Initiative: 16 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Vadok2#137373) |
| turalisj12-03-04, 09:13 PM | [yoda voice] begun, the guild wars has, yes [/yodavoice] grunt1:9 grunt2:10 grunt3:8 grunt4:15 grunt5:12 grunt6:5 grunt7:12 grunt8:4 grunt9:23 grunt10:13 i need to reroll my roll and grunt8's roll. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 09:15 PM | All right, my turn. After cursing at Crowley, Dyne points his staff at the ground. With a gesture and a few words, dark smoke seems to seep out of his staff and fill the area, 20 ft. in diameter. Roll an AoO, Turalisj. I cast Black Light, which is in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 09:15 PM | [yoda voice] begun, the guild wars has, yes [/yodavoice] grunt1:9 grunt2:10 grunt3:8 grunt4:15 grunt5:12 grunt6:5 grunt7:12 grunt8:4 grunt9:23 grunt10:13 i need to reroll my roll and grunt8's roll. Why do you need to reroll your rolls? EDIT: I remembered that I have Combat Casting. So, for the second spell, I'll cast on the defensive. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 09:24 PM | Turalisj, I believe it is Grunt9's turn. After he goes, Dyne will cast Black Light (on the defensive). |
| turalisj12-03-04, 09:28 PM | turalisj brings his sword down on dyne, slicing into his arm. whats ur initiative? attack:29 crit roll:16 failed crit damage:20 |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 09:29 PM | Initiative Order: Grunt 9 Dyne Vadok Grunt 4 Grunt 10 Grunt 5 Grunt 7 Grunt 2 Gurgetar Grunt 1 Grunt 3 Grunt 6 Turalisj Grunt 8 Ignore Turalisj's attack, he goes almost last... |
| turalisj12-03-04, 09:30 PM | they elf moves toward dyne with his bow ready. moved 30ft towards dyne |
| turalisj12-03-04, 09:30 PM | Initiative Order: Grunt 9 Dyne Vadok Grunt 4 Grunt 10 Grunt 5 Grunt 7 Grunt 2 Gurgetar Grunt 1 Grunt 3 Grunt 6 Turalisj Grunt 8 Ignore Turalisj's attack, he goes almost last... ya, but he casted a spell, thus i get an AoO. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 09:32 PM | ah, right, sorry. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 09:32 PM | ya, but he casted a spell, thus i get an AoO. I wouldn't have been able to cast the spell. It wasn't my turn. It was Grunt9's turn. Here's what happened: Dyne cast Shadow Evocation (fireball) at Sil Don't know results because Sil hasn't posted Turalisj, being next to me (or was it a grunt?) attacked me on an AoO, dealing 6 nonlethal damage Concentration check: 39 (sorry, I forgot to post this before) Now, it's Grunt9's turn. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 09:33 PM | ok, now its ur turn. then vodak, then the rest of my grunt. my second in command dissapeared. you'll see what happens...... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 09:34 PM | ok... forget it for now, is your elf done turalisj? |
| turalisj12-03-04, 09:37 PM | yup. can you make a map of everyone positions? i'm right next to dyne, grunt9 is 40ft away, and each of my other grunts are next to a pillar. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 09:37 PM | Dyne scoffs at Turalisj's pathetic blow. He then points his staff at the ground and a cloud of smoke billows out and fills a 20 ft. radius with solid darkness. I cast Blacklight on the defensive Concentration: 35 (can I just assume that all my Concentration checks for Casting on the Defensive automatically succeed since my Concentration mod is higher than the DC?) |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 09:37 PM | you'll have to remember that yourself... Orcy cant make a map for this... thats a bit... much. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 09:40 PM | oh, and everyone needs to make a spot check to find my cohort. :D edit: dc to find him is 16. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 09:44 PM | oh, and everyone needs to make a spot check to find my cohort. :D edit: dc to find him is 16. Why? Oh, and is it possible to kill characters in this little struggle? Is it really "nice" to kill off 10 men with a single spell? And who's turn is it now? |
| Droga12-03-04, 09:51 PM | Vadok moves through the darkness flawlessly. Being blind he could still see just fine. He appeoached turalisj stabbing at him with his rapier. Attack Roll: 31 Damage Roll: 13 damage Fort Save DC: 22 or become blind |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 09:54 PM | You can kill characters, thats fine. This isnt the arena so there are no rules against it. But the high king might take care of you for it. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 09:57 PM | i'm blind..... "what have you done demon?!" turalisj yells and his eyes begin to close on their own. what kind of poison was it? oh, and adronis has a 16 on initiative. so he goes next..... |
| Dyne12-03-04, 09:59 PM | You can kill characters, thats fine. This isnt the arena so there are no rules against it. But the high king might take care of you for it. Hmmm. I have so many options. I'm trying to come up with a strategy that is effective, but not completely lethal. I don't really want to kill off characters at this point. By-the-way, what are the rules for replacing cohorts and followers? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time to replace dead followers? Or can you replace them instantaneously? |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 10:00 PM | Silmarien would take 35 damage from the Shadow Evocation (fireball) on a failed save. "Crowley, you are a traitor to your kind. You do not stand up for your friends, but you protect your enemies. You are a fool. You are doomed to die." {Crowley casts telepathy and sends a message to Dyne} I have been doomed to die since the day I was born. Besides, there is a time and a place for all things, and that this isn't either. And I WAS trying to save you from the High King's wrath if you killed one of his old friends, but I might as well let all hell break loose and see if I am allowed to kill all the idiots in here. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 10:00 PM | i'm blind..... "what have you done demon?!" turalisj yells and his eyes begin to close on their own. what kind of poison was it? oh, and adronis has a 16 on initiative. so he goes next..... Darn, I was gonna make you go blind. Take your turn. EDIT: I have a question. How many HD does the High King have? And what is his Fort Save? |
| Droga12-03-04, 10:01 PM | Eyeblast poison, blinds you if you fail the save, obviously. Its from the BoVD. A nasty little thing, it isnt listed as a temporary thing either, so you would now be blind permanently, unless I missed something. |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 10:04 PM | Wow. Complete anarchy. I wonder if Sil and Dyne thought this would happen... ;) |
| turalisj12-03-04, 10:04 PM | an arrow flies at gurgetar, striking him in the arm. attack:27 damage:22 |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 10:05 PM | Remember that my character has sworn to protect the king after being hired on. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 10:06 PM | Gurgetar growls as he is shot at for no reason. His eyes flash brightly with his gobbish rage. "Oh thats it... now yer in for it. I wasn't even fightin ye you bloody fools!" Well... that was stupid of you... |
| Dyne12-03-04, 10:06 PM | Wow. Complete anarchy. I wonder if Sil and Dyne thought this would happen... ;) That was the POINT. ;) It's just good fun. No harm meant. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 10:08 PM | well, now i'm blind and will probobly die trying to defend sil and the high king. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 10:10 PM | think this is one of Orcy's first double posts |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 10:10 PM | Grunt 9 Dyne Vadok Turalisj's cohort Grunt 4 Grunt 10 Grunt 5 Grunt 7 Grunt 2 Gurgetar Grunt 1 Grunt 3 Grunt 6 Turalisj Grunt 8 The 5 grunts before Gurgetar go now. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 10:14 PM | well, now i'm blind and will probobly die trying to defend sil and the high king. If your character gets killed, I'll try to get him resurrected. Unless you want to make a new character. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 10:22 PM | Turalisj, I believe it's your grunts' turns. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 10:29 PM | Where did Turalisj go? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 10:31 PM | He randomly disappears then reappears sometimes. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 10:49 PM | all of my grunts move towards either dyne, or gurgeter, which ever is closer. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 10:55 PM | all of my grunts move towards either dyne, or gurgeter, which ever is closer. I don't think they can see Dyne. He is at the center of the Blacklight spell, completely covered in darkness and invisible to them. EDIT: I'm waiting to see Gurgetar kick butt. ;) His hamster spells should be "interesting". "Gurgetar, help me to destroy these fools who call themselves good. They are hypocrites." |
| turalisj12-03-04, 10:57 PM | then they move towards sil or gurgeter. living shields..... they were under orders to sacrifice themselves if need be..... |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 10:58 PM | Gurgetar's eyes glow with anger as he levels his staff toward Turalisj's cohort. Now obviously located after attacking. His staff flashes as do his eyes. A powerful effect begins pushing on the man's body as well as his mind. In an attempt to force him to change. "Yer a fool turalisj, you attacked the only person here who would have actually helped ye." Casting Gurgetar's Faithful pet on your cohort. He needs to make a fort save DC 24 or turn into a hamster. If he fails that save, he has to make a DC 24 will save as well, or lose all memories and powers other than bab and such from class levels. Becoming a faithful protector of Gurgetar. (in other words, he does whatever Gurgetar wants and you no longer have control over him) Orcy assumes that there was nobody close enough to attack him since he was in the door, and the throne room here has to be pretty big in itself. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart12-03-04, 10:59 PM | You notice out of the corner of your eyes that the High King is no longer seated on his throne. Inplace is (how ironic) a throne warden who seems to be doing nothing but watch the fight. The High King Telepaths demonfey from his secret dwelling "Please - Feel free to hone your skills and try to capture as many of them alive as possible. I will place judgment upon the fools later." Remebering the warlocks words he also telepaths the leader "You know NOTHING of what happend"   What would make you want to start a fight here??  In real life terms you have just met the pope in his semi-private chambers and then attacked a cardinal.  -Frosty |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 11:02 PM | Well, Gurgetar himself is just trying to stop it... but being attacked. Well... now he's gonna have to stop it in a less plesant way. Hamsterhood all around! 4 more grunts and Turalisj go now. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 11:05 PM | You notice out of the corner of your eyes that the High King is no longer seated on his throne. | Demonfey12-03-04, 11:10 PM | {Crowley grins.} For now, that will be it until I figure out if it's my turn. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart12-03-04, 11:11 PM | Oh I know why your all fighting. I just don't know why you have all chosen to do it here. At least take it outside! Also Note: I could - By law - Kill you all by now. Same thing as in school - If two kids get into a fight...not matter who started it or if one kid was defending himself...they both get suspended. But I wouldn't do that to all of you Yet hahahah.... -Frosty |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 11:13 PM | Gurgetar is technically outside the door, so he isnt fighting in your throne room ;) And demonfey, roll initiative to join in the fight to even do any of that... Orcy truely does hate you epic character, and you arent going to just do all that automatically, you still have to follow rules. |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 11:19 PM | Damn. And after I got permission... Just give me a minute. What random roll generator did you guys use? |
| Dyne12-03-04, 11:20 PM | Gurgetar is technically outside the door, so he isnt fighting in your throne room ;) And demonfey, roll initiative to join in the fight to even do any of that... Orcy truely does hate you epic character, and you arent going to just do all that automatically, you still have to follow rules. Demonfey, change your post. There is no way he would know about Dyne. He is using Mind Blank (meaning, he's immune to ALL Divinations). |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 11:20 PM | Actually, you can go now, but you have to follow rules for this. Since you would be coming in at the top of the order, its the top of the order now. |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 11:22 PM | @Orcy: Was that directed at me? Please, tell me it was... |
| Dyne12-03-04, 11:23 PM | If you're using Time Stop, you can't take away our items. The description specifically states that you may not affect creatures or their possessions in any way. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 11:24 PM | Yes it was demonfey, yer a knew arrival, so you get to be at top. But don't be robbin gurgetar :P |
| turalisj12-03-04, 11:25 PM | i'm doomed unless i get help from frosty..... |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 11:27 PM | I did change it, Dyne. {Crowley, outside of time still, creates a wall of force that protects himself, the High King, and those not participating. He then waits for time to reassert itself, and says to the High King} Let them kill each other. They won't listen to any reason, and will not go down except in death. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 11:30 PM | Better, but what exactly does darkspeech do? Oh, and turalisj, you never made the saves for your cohort. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 11:31 PM | I did change it, Dyne. {Crowley, outside of time still, creates a continuous wall of force around each combatant, to buy time. He then slips back into time. He then utters a word of darkspeech, the language that can cause revulsion in even the most evil demon.} During the time stop, he casts Gate, connecting to his mercenary hiring company. He also casts wall of force, and yells in darkspeech as he comes out of time stop. That will definitely get everyone's attention. Better? To nit-pick, Time Stop gives you 1d4+1 free rounds. Did you roll dice? |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 11:31 PM | It's in the Book of Vile Darkness, and I don't own it. From what I can remember, it can create hive minds, cause revulsion in good beings and respect in evil beings, and a couple other powers that I forget at the moment. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 11:38 PM | great, my cohort is now gugeter's new mindless pet....... |
| Dyne12-03-04, 11:39 PM | great, my cohort is now gugeter's new mindless pet....... You shouldn't have attacked him, I guess. That sucks, man. |
| turalisj12-03-04, 11:39 PM | the rest of my followers retreat towards the door at x4 thier speed (withdrawing in other words) to send word to the shadow hunter hq in sharn. |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 11:42 PM | To nit-pick, Time Stop gives you 1d4+1 free rounds. Did you roll dice? I can't get the damn roll generator to work, so yeah. It was three total. Sorry for not being able to show you on here. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 11:43 PM | the rest of my followers retreat towards the door at x4 thier speed (withdrawing in other words) to send word to the shadow hunter hq in sharn. I believe it would be my turn before all of the followers get out? A cloud of yellowish green gas forms around the men. The all begin choking, and many fall to the ground. I cast Cloudkill. They have to make Fort Saves DC: 28 or die. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 11:44 PM | I can't get the damn roll generator to work, so yeah. It was three total. Sorry for not being able to show you on here. It should work. You have to fill in every box, including modifier, even if you put a zero in the box. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-03-04, 11:44 PM | Gurgetar growls as Turalisj move past, laughing as he stubles about blind. He collects his new pet and looks toward Crowley. "Ye see what happens when ya try ta help people out eh? Ya get shot by some fool who thinks hes doin good. Aint that just the way of the world hm?" Which you need to remember Turalisj, yer now blind. Gurgetar will do this when he gets a chance to. |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 11:47 PM | I could have warned you, if you asked. I got the roll generator to work. Here it is if you want to use it: 4 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Crowley#137407) |
| Dyne12-03-04, 11:49 PM | I could have warned you, if you asked. I got the roll generator to work. Here it is if you want to use it: 4 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Crowley#137407) Didn't you say that you cast Wall of Force around each person? That would be a spell each. Or did you mean something else? By-the-way, did you send Orcy the list of spells you have prepared? I wasn't just shootin' stuff off the top of my head. |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 11:51 PM | You know what? Forget it. I'll just not attack, and protect the king, myself, and Orcy. I have gate, 2 walls of force, wail of the banshee, meteor swarm, and all fireballs ready. In any case, my actions seem to be ignored. |
| Dyne12-03-04, 11:54 PM | I meant one continuous wall, that separates each of you by creating a square around you and then continues to the next person and surrounds them. It doesn't have a ceiling though... Hmmm. That would have blocked my Cloudkill spell, I believe. So, Turalisj's men would escape with their lives. |
| Droga12-03-04, 11:56 PM | Vadok sprints out of the room, running toward the guild of ultimate evil. He didnt need to deal with some big ugly flaming thing. He would be much safer on Dromkar, where he could rest then return later. |
| Demonfey12-03-04, 11:58 PM | Hmmm. That would have blocked my Cloudkill spell, I believe. So, Turalisj's men would escape with their lives. No, I just scrapped it. Go on killing each other. It's sad that I'm the reasonable one, isn't it. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-03-04, 11:59 PM | we (my followers, cohort, and i) and fighting in defense of sil. vadok is fighting in place of droga because you banned him. gurgeter i guess was going to help me, but i had my cohort attack him. dyne is trying to kill sil, and i am now blind as a human. Sil cracks open a potion and pours it down her throat. The burns close. She looks at the frey - the ThroneWards remain inactive, and Turalisj and Dyne seem to be in some sort of conflict. She incants - *click**click**click* Her aura fires - and in an eruption of Silver Blue - the room is lit up with brilliant silverstarfire. Her voice is altered - as the ManyInOne is actioned with the deft wave of a hand. The staff is incandescent, end to end. She runs to Turalisj's side and says I am with YOU Turalisj - and I shall not let you be waylaid by this evil. She readies herself - GM Notes to Players 1. The Runestaff is ornamental only - it is not an artifact. And expression of her power with the Silverstarfire metal shods. 2. The aura is a version Fireshield - double damage against Evil, Undead and Shadows - for this combat. |
| Dyne12-04-04, 12:02 AM | Wait, can a Wall of Force be shaped? Nevermind. An invisible wall suddenly comes into being and Crowley yells something in a different language. The good creatures cringe in fear, but Dyne's laugh can be heard from within the darkness. The wall is suddenly gone, and Dyne speaks these words. "Very well, if that is how you want things, this will be finished at some other time." The darkness dissipates, but you see no sign of the the elven archmage. I cast Disintegrate on the Wall of Force. Unless someone else wants to try something, I get rid of the Blacklight spell and instead cast Greater Invisibility on myself and leave the throne room. Either that, or I just walk out of the throne room with the Blacklight spell in effect (I'm the center of it). |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:05 AM | {Sigh} Why can't they ever realize that they make their victims martyrs? |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:07 AM | Sil's eyes widen. The TRAITOR Dyne - is known to her. Her jaw clenches and she incants again once - in a clear vocalisation that brings a cold fresh mountaint breeze with it. Her forehead is now glowing with a point of Silveryblue at the centre. She scans the room It's a True Seeing. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:07 AM | "Well this was certainly a blast" Gurgetar pets the hamster that was ones Turalisj's cohort. "That boy really shoulda, ya know... NOT attacked me. Woulda been better fer him." Showed up a little late Sil, the battles over, everyone ran off. Except Gurgetar that is. |
| Dyne12-04-04, 12:08 AM | Demonfey, conflict is what the game is all about. Evil creatures are supposed to plot to overthrow the king (or try to secretly control him), and Good creatures are supposed to thwart the Evil guys. I think you're a little late. Turalisj is now a blind hamster, and "Dyne" left. A man in heavy metal armor with a white surcoat and a purple cloak rushes into the room, wielding a large sword and leading a group of similarly clad men with him. He looks around at the destruction in the throne room, and scowls. "I heard that someone has attacked the throne. What happened?" This is Bren Dundragon, by-the-way. EDIT: Wait, what happened to Turalisj? I don't believe he was killed. And it was his cohort that was turned into a hamster, not himself. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:10 AM | "Well this was certainly a blast" Gurgetar pets the hamster that was ones Turalisj's cohort. "That boy really shoulda, ya know... NOT attacked me. Woulda been better fer him." Showed up a little late Sil, the battles over, everyone ran off. Except Gurgetar that is. She leans on her staff, watching the newcomer with narrowed eyes. Before turning to Guergetar, grinning and adds "you weren't looking in the right place. I've been here all along. Silmarien at your service" |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:15 AM | {Crowley waves a hand, and the damage to the hall repairs.} You're a little late, Bren. {Turns to Sil} You realize he's gone now, right? Wait, can a Wall of Force be shaped? @Dyne: That is true, but you have no idea what I have planned. On that note, I don't either. I just make it up as everyone else affects the area. That way, I surprise you all and keep you guessing, as well as make it so that plans that have taken millenia IG to develop into fruition could be put in jeopardy...or have the characters play right into his hands. I'm not sure which one is about to happen at the moment, but it makes things interesting. |
| thasis12-04-04, 12:15 AM | Heard there's a asome conversation going on here. Whats up? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:16 AM | "Well, I'm gonna be havin ta challenge that Turalisj to a fight, dunno bout to unconciousness or death yet. But after that insult, oh hes gonna be gettin it." Gurgetar nods to Silmarien and chuckles. His boney jaw clacking as he does so. He keeps petting the hamster and looks her over. "Seems like ye attack trouble hun." |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:18 AM | Thasis, you just missed it! Anarchy broke out in the throne room, and there was a melee between the characters made by Dyne, Silmarien Aldalome, Droga, Orcy the Green Wonder, and turalisj. I tried to get into the fight, but I decided that it was too much work for a couple of force walls. |
| thasis12-04-04, 12:19 AM | Cewl, who one the fight. |
| Dyne12-04-04, 12:22 AM | Heard there's a asome conversation going on here. Whats up? You're a little late. But, that doesn't mean that there won't be interesting stuff happening in the near future, especially since the challenge was not solved. Well, the challenge was not solved. Dyne got away, and no one learned anything of what was going on with him. Many regard him as a traitor, others as merely totally insane. Bren frowns at Silmarien's scrutiny. "Why do ye doubt me, Silmarien? I am not thine enemy, I am thine friend." He strides over to Crowley. "I'm sorry I'm late, I was only informed of a disturbance a few minutes ago. I mobilized a unit of soldiers and made my way to here as quickly as I possibly could." |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:23 AM | It dispersed after they realized that I had just been given permission to use my epic character to either slaughter them or subdue them. |
| Dyne12-04-04, 12:23 AM | Cewl, who one the fight. Dyne attacked Silmarien. Turalisj tried to stop him and protect Sil. Vadok (Droga's cohort) got into the mix, and he made Turalisj go blind from poison. Turalisj's cohort shot an arrow at Gurgetar (Orcy's character), who then turned him into a mindless hamster. Turalisj's men took off, as well as Dyne. |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:25 AM | And Vadok. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:26 AM | She says to the purple knight in no uncertain terms, and without room for negotiation "frienship and trust are earned and bestowed over time, and not in an instant of battle". She walks away and turns to survey the throneroom, and sees the battle scars of the frey. She looks at Gurgetar and says "it seems there is another Lore at work. The Elf burned with strange magic, from a strange source." she studies the room with the True Seeing, her forhead aglow with Silverstarfire. Looking at the burns - on the stone and magical residues she says "some wierd magic. It is unfamiliar. Perhaps Shadow Weave". |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:26 AM | Which by the way, Orcy is begining to think you need to level that character down. Orcy doesn't want an epic character running around the guild wars imposing his will on people. Orcy has seen you havent really done it... too much. But you keep making threats and hints that you will... Orcy really doesnt like an epic running around with all the level 15s. |
| Dyne12-04-04, 12:28 AM | She says to the purple knight in no uncertain terms, and without room for negotiation "frienship and trust are earned and bestowed over time, and not in an instant of battle". She walks away and turns to survey the throneroom, and sees the battle scars of the frey. She looks at Gurgetar and says "it seems there is another Lore at work. Looking at the burns - on the stone and magical residues she says "some wierd magic. It is unfamiliar. Perhaps Shadow Weave". Dyne was using Mind Blank when he entered the throne room. It gives 24 hour protection against all divinations, no saving throw, no spell resistance, no nothing, complete protection. I don't know if the effect would apply to his spells as well, let me check. |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:28 AM | Which by the way, Orcy is begining to think you need to level that character down. Orcy doesn't want an epic character running around the guild wars imposing his will on people. Orcy has seen you havent really done it... too much. But you keep making threats and hints that you will... Orcy really doesnt like an epic running around with all the level 15s. Can I at least work on alliances and evolutions with this character, as well as new species created using his genetic material as a basis? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:31 AM | You can use him out of game, thats fine with Orcy. But he doesnt want you playing him as a guild war character. Hes too powerful and can just beat on any of the other players without a problem. |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:34 AM | You can use him out of game, thats fine with Orcy. But he doesnt want you playing him as a guild war character. Hes too powerful and can just beat on any of the other players without a problem. That was what I meant to do originally. I just tend to end up in situations where no response would just not be in character. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:34 AM | @Orcy - the GMs can game-balance encounters with PCs of overpowered powers. @Demonfey We should look at your request on the PC thread. Dyne was using Mind Blank when he entered the throne room. It gives 24 hour protection against all divinations, no saving throw, no spell resistance, no nothing, complete protection. I don't know if the effect would apply to his spells as well, let me check. It's a good spell. I use it a lot here. stav |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:35 AM | The species is a special project for the GoUE, and can't have specifics revealed yet. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:36 AM | That was what I meant to do originally. I just tend to end up in situations where no response would just not be in character. Which is why you shouldnt be playing an epic character. Since Orcy has seen you popping in EVERYWHERE. If thats in character, you dont need to be playin that character as epic. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:36 AM | You can use him out of game, thats fine with Orcy. But he doesnt want you playing him as a guild war character. Hes too powerful and can just beat on any of the other players without a problem. GMs may throw in extra NPC powers to balance the encounter. Demonfey - what exactly were you looking at. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:37 AM | Sil, balencing an epic character with level 15s is not going to work. Nothing short of giving them another 5-8 levels or so would help that situation... |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:37 AM | The species is a special project for the GoUE, and can't have specifics revealed yet. You must disclose effects to GMs - if they have wide-reaching consequences. And trust us to not disclose to the other Guilds. stav |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:38 AM | Well, some of that is alliances. Like the one in the GoPG is mainly for an alliance with the CotP, which had the plane created by Necrodude. Also, I like popping in random places at random times to see if I can do something to a current situation. Sometimes, I make it better, and other times, I make it worse, making things more interesting. On the species, I can't disclose that because I don't have it yet. As I said, it's a project. It's not done yet. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:39 AM | Sil, balencing an epic character with level 15s is not going to work. Nothing short of giving them another 5-8 levels or so would help that situation... Not gifted to other players - but introduced in the frey on the sidelines, by NPC powers not part of the PC activities. We have the near same anyhow, here in some of the PCs already running amok. How Epic is Epic Demonfey? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:40 AM | level 23, casts epic spells, uses high level powers, hes epic... There is a HUGE difference between level 20 and 21 in terms of power. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:40 AM | Well, some of that is alliances. Like the one in the GoPG is mainly for an alliance with the CotP, which had the plane created by Necrodude. Also, I like popping in random places at random times to see if I can do something to a current situation. Sometimes, I make it better, and other times, I make it worse, making things more interesting. Alliance formation is good stuff. If you want Epic Level Spells - I think we have to draw the line there. But - there is some room for flexibility. If you don't buy that - your Epic Level effects may get nerfed by Orcy (or myself) in combat by NPC activities. |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:41 AM | Alright, alright. I'll get help from Von Crown on that. He has a non-posted epic character who works through lackeys, which is something I never got the hang of, really. Epic spells are more of a potentiality at this point. He has the ability, but not the actual resources. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:43 AM | Having said that everyone - one of you is going to get Epic first, so to some degree, Orcy, our discussion is academic, as they say. Some Epic powers - not Epic spells - to start with. And expect nerfing everyone - if powers are misused. regards stav |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:43 AM | And I'll try to behave. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:45 AM | Orcy really has no problem with an epic character if the player earned it in game. But currently, just starting off at epic? That doesn't sit right with Orcy. |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 12:47 AM | Sorry, Orcy, but if I behave, will you let the character stay? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:49 AM | Orcy will give ya another shot, but if you remember he has warned you about this before. He STRONGLY suggests using another character, a servant or something. Perhaps a member of that mercenary guild you were going to call on. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:51 AM | Orcy really has no problem with an epic character if the player earned it in game. But currently, just starting off at epic? That doesn't sit right with Orcy. I have two responses to this, Orcy. 1. The first is - "yes" to your post - when in the Arena. Unless 2. Someone wants to fight something bigger than them for a proportioanlly bigger reward. None of us have really earned our 15th level status, to be honest. Also - I would like to "conspire" with you and Anglar, behind the scenes, to introduce Epic Level effects, that the Players have to combat. After all - 15 15th level characters need something to unite them. That's what we're here for. I really think it's time for MSN, or that PC thing I was talking about before. We need to work together now and we need to focus our players on the game by being DMs who provide surprises. I think, you me and Anglar need to book a time to discuss this on-line together. regards stav |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 12:52 AM | Orcy thinks we need to finish up the rules first ;) |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:53 AM | Sorry, Orcy, but if I behave, will you let the character stay? This is Sil's thread - you may stay. Stav |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 12:54 AM | Orcy thinks we need to finish up the rules first ;) BTW thank you for helping GM the thread Orcy, it is muchly appreciated. Then - everyone - expect Exposure to Epic NPC effects. Your GMs have access to DR powers. I will use those powers or Epic ones - to give you a focus - if you start to turn on each other. regards stav |

I thought the whole point of the IFWG was to fight each other. If we're not fighting each other, it's not really a Guild War. Personally, I don't want to be going up against epic level stuff at only level 15. I don't care what kind of reward you would give me if I actually succeeded because I would most likely fail. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 01:00 AM | The guild war does have to do with player against player. Orcy believes Sil just means for different tasks, but isnt really sure what he means himself. |
| turalisj12-04-04, 01:30 AM | Demonfey, conflict is what the game is all about. Evil creatures are supposed to plot to overthrow the king (or try to secretly control him), and Good creatures are supposed to thwart the Evil guys. And it was his cohort that was turned into a hamster, not himself. actually i'm just blind. if anyone has a wish or merical spell handy....."great, in return for helping out the high throne i become blind... owell.... blasted skygge alway use their poisons instead of fair fighting. you don't see a single poison on me do you? no, i dont even have an acid flask on me. only my trusty full blade, my armor, my mind, and my bow." turalisj says. he looks at sil and says"i will be going now. a blind warrior is of no use to anyone. i will be traveling to sharn to the high council. you may join me if you wish. i must report this treachery to my masters. the purple dragon knights shall forever be hunted and destroyed." with that he heads towards the door. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 01:36 AM | The uh... purple dragon knights didnt attack you. They came to help, Dyne attacked you, Dyne is a member of the HEF and the COA. |
| turalisj12-04-04, 01:47 AM | um, if you look, dyne is a pdk. thus his aggresive attacks have caused the shadow hunters to brand them as evil. and now i'm blind to the point where i might as well create a nwe character. i wont be able to compete in any battles or even do any guild challenges. |
| Tenzhi12-04-04, 01:49 AM | The uh... purple dragon knights didnt attack you. They came to help, Dyne attacked you, Dyne is a member of the HEF and the COA. It's confusion like that that makes me restrict players at home to one character each. ;) |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 01:51 AM | DYNE is not a purple dragon knight. HELM however is... |
| thasis12-04-04, 01:52 AM | This is all very intressting. I can't belive I missed this. So, why are people fighting in the throne room though? Why not in the areana or at someones guild? Does this actualy have to do with something throne related. What actualy caused this whole conflict? |
| Orcy The Green Wonder12-04-04, 01:54 AM | "Dyne" got angry with sil and attacked her, Turalisj tried to defend her but ended up blind and cohortless. Other people joined in because they were here and saw an oppourtunity. |
| turalisj12-04-04, 01:54 AM | dyne tried to assasinate sil, i tried to defend sil but got blinded by poison. the usual choas. |

I don't care what kind of reward you would give me if I actually succeeded because I would most likely fail. Now - this is an about face about power, my friend. :) I've had another long think about all the last few weeks events - and a great deal of reflection. This is an important discussion point - please see my next post at Metathread. I wanted to talk about "power creep" - something from the Magic Boards. I have a very close friend who is a staunch Magic player - and I had a very enlightening discussion about "power creep". It's a wisdom that the players from Magic the Gathering we can really reflect upon. They're a very smart and distinct group of geeks - and there's a "bing" light bulb that has come to me. Please see metathread everyone. stav |

| Demonfey12-04-04, 10:03 AM | I'll PM Orcy when the new species is ready. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 10:05 AM | @Bronze Beard Make sure you join us in the battling, my friend. Come out and have a hack - your friends need you to help them. ;) @all [GM]Demonfey has shown us all the highest and best standards of sportsmanship, in many, but not all ways. Accordingly, he should and will be rewarded. While none of us have yet earned Epic Level Magic, it is important to reward the good in all of you with appropriate rewards for good sportsmanship. It's not appropriate to let Demonfey have unrestrained access to Epic Level Magic, but as his reward, his GM is gifting him with responsibility. Demonfey - you will be permitted one Epic Level Spell per week, subject to the following constraints: 1. It will cost you all bar ONE hitpoint every time you use the power. This is backlash damage. You have learned to use Epic Level Magic early, but to do so, you must burn yourself, to near death. 2. If the power is used irresponsibly, it will be taken away from you. What can I do with my Epic Level Magic You must make a DC check, each time you cast a spell. At 15th level, you wouldn't have more than about a DC of about 25. That's not enough for any Epic Level Spell - unassisted. So - you have a special Epic Level Item that grants DC bonuses. I forget what the item is called right now (but I will next time I post after I refresh my memory). Those spells you do cast - are very deadly, potentially. If you ravage a foundation with it, you will have ThroneWards, Heralds of the Divine, and the KARSESTONE-creature to contend with (I'm going to post its properties soon). AND expect a total revolt from all the allies of the foundation you destroy to come after you. All that aside, you may create intrigue, fun and excitement for us all by use of the power. You'll have to keep track of the days in game, though. That's your job. Enjoy yourself. |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 10:08 AM | Thank you. I won't use it unless sorely pressed. Just as soon as I figure out what "it" is... |
| De Batavier12-04-04, 10:11 AM | Karl Abend ends his invisibility. He smiles Well well, seems anarchy rules in these halls. This only confimrs my opinion of laws. They are only there to keep the weak in check and protect the ones in power when the weak rebel against this injustice Karl Abend becomes invisible again. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 10:12 AM | Thank you. I won't use it unless sorely pressed. Just as soon as I figure out what "it" is... You have my total trust with this. You have at no stage ever provoked anyone. And despite being a mad, possessed, highly evil character in-game - an evil outsider, in fact, you, the person, have brought us a great conscience and kindness for your fellow posters. It is a real pleasure to have such a well-mannered and well-rounded person amongst us, and we are very lucky to have you. That does not in any way, reflect badly upon anyone else. Dyne, for example, is one our most highly energetic and creative posters. His energy has been an engine for us and he brings other particular strengths. Each of you have your own set of strengths. I will make sure those strengths are rewarded when you show them. stavros |

| De Batavier12-04-04, 10:18 AM | Well i still have to flesh out my psionic foundation character. Karl Abend is my Warlock Circle character and he is not that friendly though he is not quite evil....yet. |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-04-04, 10:20 AM | Well, at the moment, his Warlock's Circle foundation is looking for allies. Perhaps you could start with that. Well spotted. Attention where it is due and deserved. stav *vanishes to the Warlock's Circle* |
| Dyne12-04-04, 12:02 PM | It's confusion like that that makes me restrict players at home to one character each. ;) That confusion shouldn't exist. I have stated countless times the differences between my characters, I have completely changed the type of text each one uses in-character, and my signature gives a clear guide to what each type of text is for each character. I usually play as a single character. But, I'm experimenting with different character concepts (tis what I do as a DM). I now have 4 characters running, only 3 being active. A few of them may eventually get killed off and I won't bring them back. |
| Dyne12-04-04, 12:07 PM | DYNE is not a purple dragon knight. HELM however is... Yes, Helm WAS a Purple Dragon Knight. He was killed. His son, Bren, is the current leader of the Purple Dragons. He is also a Purple Dragon Knight and Paladin, and he is the one still looking around at the inhabitants of the Throne Room confused, since no one has told him what is going on. |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 01:39 PM | Things have gotten out of hand here. AGAIN. |
| Dyne12-04-04, 03:21 PM | Things have gotten out of hand here. AGAIN. "What do you mean? What happened? Tell me everything." |
| Demonfey12-04-04, 04:06 PM | Let's see..."Dyne" attacked Sil, Turalisj attacked Dyne, one of his cohorts then tried to harm Gurtegar because he wasn't clear on who was the enemy and who wasn't, and Vadok attacked and blinded Turalisj. Oh, and in retaliation for an unprovoked attack, Gurtegar turned most of Turalisj's cohorts into hamsters. |
| Dyne12-05-04, 08:54 PM | Since no one seems to be able to handle my challenge, I'm telling all the details right now. Aseir Pashar is a Shadow Adept, a follower of Shar and a caller upon the Shadow Weave. He and Dyne hate each other, and have for a very long time. Dyne heard rumors of a Shadow Adept appearing and joining the Guild of Ultimate Evil. He went to investigate, and he discovered that his old nemesis had returned. Aseir is a very powerful Wizard, and Dyne knew this. In his past encounters, Dyne barely made it out with his life. In the last encounter, Dyne managed to finally do away with Aseir (at least, he thought he did) with the help of some allies. But, Aseir came back, more powerful than ever, and Dyne knew he might not be so lucky anymore. Dyne set off for the Magic City, to meet with his elders for council. The elders gave Dyne a chance to be transformed, and he would receive new gifts that would allow him to make powerful items to aid in the destruction of Aseir. But, the Silverstarfire gift that Dyne possessed could not stay. There was no room for it, for otherwise the transformation would kill Dyne. The Silverstarfire had never been a comfortable "gift" for Dyne to bear. It had always gnawed at him. It never fit with him. The elders also told Dyne that the Silverstarfire had already begun to tear at the fabric of his soul. This was his only chance to be rid of it. If he did not lose it now, he would eventually die a very painful death. Reluctantly, Dyne gave up the Silverstarfire, and he was transformed. He was much the same as he used to be, but he had different powers. Dyne had been away to the Magic City for several weeks. Aseir took this chance to strike at his old enemy. Using his Ring of Chameleon Power, Aseir took on the form of Dyne, and he went about destroying his reputation. Aseir (disguised as Dyne) attacked Silmarien in the Throne Room. He sought to ruin his archnemesis, destroy one of his main foes, and claim the throne in one swift sweep of his hand. Luckily, Aseir failed in destroying Silmarien, but he succeeded in ruining Dyne, for some of his allies were easily convinced of his betrayal. When Dyne returned, he made for the Half-Elven Foundation to announce his return. When he got there, he was met by Crowley, who sought to lose his own life to protect the Children of the Planes and the Warlock Circle. As a friend and colleague, Dyne could not see Crowley die. Silmarien met Dyne with rage, and he did not understand why. She demanded for him to explain his betrayal, and he did not understand what she meant. He had done no betrayal. Silmarien declined Crowley's death (possibly because she would have had to fight several people who backed up Crowley), but Eldradune, an old Paladin who hated Crowley, went after his nemesis. Crowley escaped, but badly injured. Dyne left the Half-Elven Foundation with Crowley, feeling that he no longer belonged there since the Half-Elves began threatening him (for no apparent reason to him). And, that brings us up to the present. That's everything that happened. Don't think that Dyne is a traitor or that I have it in for Silmarien (or Stav), or anything else ludicrous. |
| Demonfey12-05-04, 08:57 PM | Not a paladin. He's a shugenja/sorceror/mystic theurge. I just have him as an NPC. |
| Dyne12-05-04, 09:08 PM | Not a paladin. He's a shugenja/sorceror/mystic theurge. I just have him as an NPC. Whatever. What the heck is a Shugenja anyway? |
| Demonfey12-05-04, 09:12 PM | A shugenja is a type of divine spellcaster that is like the sorceror in that the members of the class use charisma to cast and have their spell list set. In short, they are instantaneous divine casters. |
