this is a place for those who like to make strongholds to list them and what thier purpose is. mybe it's a palace for your wizard character? or a base of operations for your pirate? or mybe you'd like to post the stats for your guilds own base of operations?

Could someone build me some strongholds?

I currently could use a hideout for some pirates, a high-tech fortress for an imperial moff (I could use a floorplan for a star destroyer as well, if anyone has one), a wizard's tower, a stronghold for an orc war band.... Maybe a few more, as I think of them.

Oh yeah, and a military academy/castle.

Do you even have the rules to make a Star Wars RPG imperial fortress?

Why? This could be a cool thing to do IG. But, I can't see many buildings being built anyway, and most guilds probably have at least one person who could do it themselves.

If your guild decides to join the IFG2, let me know. Perhaps it could be a branch of the Merchants Guild, or at least allies with it.

:P this is out of character stats. your character would have to infiltrate zik's underwear drawer to get the designes. :P

AH-HA! Now I know where they are at! With these plans, I'll be able to infiltrate the floating island, find Zik's underwear drawer, then take the plans so that I can infiltrate the floating island!

I was joking. That's why my post didn't make any sense.

I'm not here to debate how good your fortress is. Heck, I hope it's the most awesome fortress you could have. So long as you have fun with it.

However, I am curious about some of the "features" you mentioned about it. For example, why/how do you have bearded devils in your fortress? Unless you hired them yourself somehow (which I would imagine to be very expensive), they would be just as likely to attack you and your own forces as to attack your enemies, if not moreso (they might be very angry at being imprisoned).

I will pay anyone 5,000 gp if they can design a sufficient dark citadel for the Stormhand.

I'm currently in the process of mapping out the castle Aberwyvern. Got a while to go before I have the stronghold spaces and cost figured out. But the map is pretty anyway.

Some reading that I thinks pretty nice when designing a castle.
(Author Last, First. Title. Call Number I found it under.)

Gravett, Christopher. Castle. J 623.1 Gravett.
DK Eyewitness book. Nice simple overview of a lot of stuff. Also good for reminding about things other than the castle walls, as in the people who live there.

Kaufmann, J. E. The Medival Fortress: Castles, Forts, and Walled cities of the Middle Ages. 355.7 Kaufmann.
Fair amount of pictures of real castles. Awesome set of drawings detaling different types of castle basics such as walls, towers, drawbridges, and arrow loops. Some floor plans of real castles and city defenses.

Macaulay, David. Castle. J 623 Macaulay.
Macaulay tells the story of the design, building, and siege of the fictional but realistic castle Aberwybern. Caldecott Honor Book with tons of drawings which wonderfully tell the story of castle construction. Also gives a few ideas for attacking a castle.

Somerset Fry, Plantagenet. Castles of Britain and Ireland. 728.81 Somerset.
About two thirds of this book is dedicated to a gazetteer of castles. A lot of the entries are just text mentioning what type of castle it was and what is left of it now. Castles which are still in good condition today ususally have a picture or floor plan included. Famous castles tend to have a history of construction and defense. Wonderful resource for ideas.

Castle. 728.81 (video).
PBS Video with author David Macaulay touring four Welsh castles with animated scenes from his book interspursed. While my library tags it as an educational video (21-day check-out versus 7-day) I watch it for fun.
