| Old_One10-18-05, 11:18 AM | I have just goten my 8th lvl and I can finely take the PRC clas I have wanted since I started my playing my conjurer the Alinist. What I cannot belive is that in the summon alien descriptio it states that I can not summon non pseudonatural critters. Does this realy mean I can't summon am imp or a deamon/devil/celestial?? If so would it be to game brakeing to ask my DM to let me ognore this last paragraph? I'm just wandaring if that part is here for a good reason or what? I decided on the alienist concept from the Tome and Blood book, well before the Compleate arcane came out. I didn't remeber to check it in detiel when the CA was published so I am f**** outraged that I will have to give up the best part of my character :( |
| bartleby4210-19-05, 01:20 AM | That last paragraph was in T&B. The point of the alienist is the she summons creepy Cthullu-esque things that have lots of gooey tentecles. Summoning a demon is more the province of a demonologist or a diabolist. You on the other hand can summon a, say, psudeo-natural hound archon. An angel of eew... |
| Old_One10-19-05, 09:35 AM | wait a min here... Are you saying I can summon a bearded devil (on lvl 9 ofcourse) AND slap a pseudo template on him?? Wouldn't that kinda up his CR a bit and make him unavailable for a SM V spell? |
| The Unspeakable Thing10-19-05, 12:00 PM | If you can summon a Bearded devil, then there is no problem with the CR boost given by the template, its part off the pay off of taking this PRC in the first place. I admittadly havent seen the 3.5 version yet, but I have heard that you can only summon from certain creature types now, so I have never converted my old favourite character (Wizard 5/Alienist 7 when last played). |
| Leach10-19-05, 02:10 PM | I don't have my book with me, but I do know that "psuedonatural" is a template you can apply to other creatures. And I think they can even choose to look normal, then go all tentacles-and-pus when they want to (for a +1 AC modifier, or something). Check toward the back of the Complete Arcane; that's where they talk about it. |
| Old_One10-20-05, 08:22 AM | uuuuhhhhh boy  <shivers with delight> this opens up all new planes of disgusting things I can unleash on the next poor SOB who cross me and my raven buddy (and those lesser beeings that I travel with) :evillaugh: A pseudo natural lantern achron :88E: for expample hihihihihiihihi  |
| littlenog10-20-05, 02:43 PM | Yeah I'd allow it because your applying a template. |
| Crimson Innocence10-20-05, 04:35 PM | talk to your GM about allowing you to summon stringes (sp?), low level monsters that suck blood out in the form of constition damage with a successful hit, and add the psudonatural template to that and you have +20 to hit. Finalize it by taking the prerequsite feats for Innate Spell Ability (cast a level 0 or 1 spell at will basically) and you can drain any living foe you encounter in rounds... summon monster III, with my free action summon monster I, at least 4 stringes, that have a true strike ability and drain constituion when they hit. every round... |
