This was originaly designed for a realistic (no magic, no bugbear police men form D20 Modern, etc...) RPG game i'm creating, set in the modern world, called D20th Century. Any way, here the variant is, befor this post turns in to a D20th Century advertisment.

Rule Variant
All classes still get a BAB, but it is a at a highly reduced bonus (fighters would get a BAB of +3 at 6th level (1/2 his level), where as a Wizard would only gain a +1 BAB at 6th level (roughly 1/4 his level). To account this loss of attack bonus, all classes receive a new skill, called "Weapon Training". Weapon Training (WT) allows you to select a weapon (similar to Knowledge) and put ranks in WT. The more ranks in Weapon training (longsword), the bigger the additional attack bonus when you use a longsword (i haven't figued out the Bonuses yet, but come back in a few days, once i've had the time to finish this system up).

What do you think of the base idea, though??

Sounds like a variation of Big Eyes Small Mouth d20 and their combat skills. Go to their web site and check out their Anime d20 System Reference Document.
