The Ranger gets these at 2nd and 5th, respectively. The Scout gets Improved Uncanny Dodge at 5th Lvl. The reason I did this is that I feel as martial artists Monks should be more aware (yes they get their Wisdom bonus to AC, but it still didn't seem enough), as should Rangers (she should be constantly aware of her surroundings). I simply added the Improved version to the Scout as they have the base Uncanny Dodge. Finally, I gave the Scout Disable Device as a Class Skill. They have Trapfinding, but not that skill. I'm sure a lot of people might feel these are unbalancing, but I'm hoping to get positively critical opinions on why they do or don't make sense. |

They can deflect ranged attacks, stun opponents, trip or disarm, heal themselves, shrug off most diseases and any poison, and even have spell resistance. They can control their opponents ability to harm them, and have unparalleled mobility out of all the melee classes in the game. They really don't need Uncanny Dodge, they're fine the way they are. As far as the ranger, they do have the ability to be aware of their surroundings. They get Track as a free feat and have Spot, Listen, and Survival all as class skills. If they play smart and are in their element, they choose when the fights start. |
