I'm currently working with the generic D&D classes, along with the material in the Core Books and the Complete series, to try and revise the base class system.

However, I've run into a peculiar difficulty. The mechanics are working out (so far) as planned, but I'm having trouble coming up with names for my base classes.

To be specific: I want generic class titles. IMO, the problem with the base class system is that it is currently too broad, and I would like to narrow the field down, and make base classes more comprehensive.

I am requesting your help in creating generic/broad class titles to use w/ my experimental system.

There are 4 categories of classes:

1) Combat/Skill Use (Non-Magic) Classes
-Sample names might include: Fighter, Expert, Treasure Hunter, Adventurer, etc...
-Non-examples: Samurai (too cultural), Spell-thief (too focused)

2) Divine Casters
-Sample names might include: Acolyte, Favored Soul, Priest, etc...
-Non-examples: Druid (Acts like a secret society), Cleric (Clergy is a rank in a church)

3) Arcane Casters
-Sample names might include: Mage, Wizard, Sorceror, Mystic, Medium, etc...
-Non-examples: Wu Jen (again, too cultural)

4) Psionic Manifesters
-Sample names might include: Psion, Wilder, Talent, etc...
-Non-examples: Lurk (mix of Psionic/Skill Use)

What are some generic name suggestions that you have? I appreciate the help.
