Arcane, Divine, Psionics, Combat, Defense, and Skill. So what happens is when ya do specific actions he gives ya experiance based on what the action is. If it's Skillful he'll give ya Skill EXP, if it's Combat Based he'll give ya Combat EXP, ect. Now for gaining lv's it's a little diffrent. What ya do is ya buy levels with the experiance. Every class has a EXP %. So lets say your a 2nd level Rouge. To get to 3rd level ya need 2000 EXP after the first. Like 2000 more after ya hit lv2 right. So to become a 3rd lv rouge ya'd need to spend like 25% of this 2000 exp ya need to spend on Skillful EXP, 25% of the Experiance has to Combat, and 25% has to be Defense. The other 25% can be anything. So basically ya buy levels and every class has requirments of how much of experiance of each type ya need to spend. Now here's the cool part. Every class has a core EXP type. Like for Rouges it would be Skillful EXP. What that means is if ya spend a 50% of the whatever amount of EXP ya need to spend to gain a lv on Skillful EXP ya get a little bonus. So basically it's a Lv buying system. What do ya think? |

I'd break up XP rewards into Arcane, Divine, Combat, and Skills; and then I'd simply assign XP category penalties and bonuses to each class rather than defining how much of each category they have to get to advance. Of course, either way doesn't work too well when considering normal multi-class rules... |

| thasis03-20-05, 02:27 PM | Well there's two points. 1.) It's more realistic. Instead of gaining a lv in any class no-matter what sort of skills you need to be training in you gain levels in classes that you've been training in. 2.) It's a nice little twist to the ordinary EXP system. It'd be fun to try. More complicated yes, but also fun. Of course I love complicated systems over simple ones so... :D |

It is a good idea however, but wherer does roleplay exp come into your system? I have already split all the classes into the subgroups magic, stealth, com bat and mental, which may work better than your current sytstem. Each class has 5 points. for example, monk is 2 combat, 2 stealth and a mental, a rogue is 3 stealth a mental and a combat, a bard is 1 stealth, 2 mental, 1 magic and a combat and so on. |
