| MattMart03-22-04, 10:51 AM | Its allready been addressed in the Unearthed Arcana that it might be possible to sub in different feats for monk bonus feats provided they fall in line with a monk theme or concept.... and the concept of dropping ablities for feats is also addressed... so what about dropping Purity of Body and Wholeness of body? according to the old Class Construction Engine they are worth a total of three feats together.... Provided these feats are directed in the same line as the other bonus feats, would any of you see a problem with this? to further clarify what i am suggesting is this: 1st level bonus feat: Improved Trip 2nd level bonus feat: Defensive Strike 5th level bonus feat(in place of Purity of body): Elusive Target 6th level bonus feat: Defensive Throw 7th level bonus feats(in place of Wholeness of body): Two Weapon Defense, Eyes in the back of the head |

| Pystian03-23-04, 09:32 AM | Two Weapon Defense seems kind of randomly thrown in there. |
| Tigald03-23-04, 11:26 AM | "but i dont really want it along the same lines...I want to take the whole immune to disease and healing yourself thing out of the picture...." What kind of picture of a monk do you have? Self perfection and complete control over your body (Which may include unarmed combat), this is what a pure monk is. If you don't want to follow this path choose a prestige class, which gives you other bonuses and concetrate on other aspects of life. Tigald |

They do not wish to abolish pestilance but to allow it to exist within them as anything else does. you cannot have health without sickness. When ill, the body is forced to learn and adapt. The struggle strengthens the body and the soul. |

The struggle strengthens the body and the soul. A Monk(the class) may be immune to diseases, but that doesn't mean the disease is automatically killed upon entering the Monk's body. It just mean that the Monk is immune to any ill effects. The immunity can, as you see fit, be the adaptation. |
