Me, Myself, & 101 others 08-01-07, 03:23 PM	Nope, but that's probably not a bad trade off. Because you can get a familiar with Obtain Familiar feat, and you can can lose the metamagic time increase restriction with the Rapid Metamagic feat. But, Obtain Familiar only requires 3 levels in an arcane casting clase, and 4 ranks in a skill. Rapid Metamagic requires 12 skill ranks, so you can't get it till level 9 at the earliest. So, you might want to balance it out with something else. But, honestly, I think sorcs are a underpowered as is (compared to a wizard), so it might work.

In PHBII there is a class option for Sorcerer that lets you swap your familiar for the ability to use metamagic feats without increasing casting times.
