Alternate to gestalt: the parallele carreers

Before I got the unearthed arcana splatbook, I had come to this:

Parallele carreer feat:

Prerequit : 6th level, but human can take it at first level.
Advantage: As soon as you get enough Xp to go up a level, you instead gain a secondary carreer at Lvl 1.
The Xp necessary to get that carreer are spent.

Character progression/parallele carreer progression:
Whenever he gain Xp, a character may chose to divide them between her carreers.
Progression in each carreer follow the usual rules (2nd level at 1000 Xp, 3rd level at 3000 Xp etc...)
The character global level is given by her total Xp as usual.

Generic bonuses given by leveling are still based on the character global level.
That includes bonus feats, bonus to attributes, bonus to Skill points (given by high int), bonus to Hp (given by high Con).
Bonus to Skill point are distributed whenever a carreer increase in level, while bonus to Hp apply immediately.

Carreer composition:
- Each base class may only be encounter in at most one carreer.
- Prestige class is taken in your highest carreer.
- Whenever you take prestige class, you give up progressing into other carreer.
- (+spell level in existing class) applies to the carreer of the prestige class only.

Carreer advantages:

Weapon/Armor proficiency:
You are proficient with the weapon gain in the first level of your carreers only.

Hp:
Your Hp is the max Hp of all your carreer +1/3 sum of Hp of other carreers + Hp given by Con modifier.
(Of course, in Hp of a carreer is computed without the Con modifier).

Skills:
Max rank : for a peculiar skill, Max rank is given by the highest rank of all your carreer.
Skill points : cumulate the skill point earned;
Remember that skill point earned thru high int are only gathered every character level.
First level :
The first carreer earns you 4 time the skill point/level of your first class;
The second carreer earns you 3 time the skill point/level of your first class;
The third carreer earns you 2 time the skill point/level of your first class;
The other carreer earns you 1 time the skill point/level of your first class;
(this is done so that players who chose beginning their second carreer as rogue be not at a too big disadvantage compared to a player that would had begun her first carreer as rogue).

Save :
Take the best of all your carreers.

BAB:
Take the highest of all your carreers.

Other class features are gain normally.

Usage :

This was designed as a tool for the DM to allow slowing down the character progression (Xp award) while keeping an even progression in character development.
You could go as far as disallowing carreer to go above certain level for some time and/or giving free additional carreer.
Reason for this could be: 9th level and above are beyond normal humans realm, character should acquire enlightement/awaken/be chosen by fate/god/be exposed to cryptonite or bitten by radioactive spider/... to go there.

Do the math:
Xp necessary to attain a certain level follow a square progression. That is, splitting evenly Xp among n carreers slow down those carreer linearly by square root(n). For instance, a 20th level character split evenly amongst 2 carreers would be [14][14] (that is 20/1,4 ; 1,4 being about the square root of 2). At 10th level, that same character would be about [7][7].
