An Option for Generic Classes [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-07-07, 03:58 PM I've been thinking of using Generic Classes, with Prestigious Character Classes as a replacement for Base Character Classes. But I'd eliminate the Arcane/Divine split for Spellcasters and just have all spellcasters pick and choose from a single spell list..

Let the spell list define the character, not the type of magic.
Seperate the spells by desired theme, keeping as many spells as you can exclusive to a given list.
Perhaps you can allow lower level spells to have some cross over, more generalized uses. When characters are able to take a prestigious class, they can choose more specialized spell lists.
