| Krusk03-29-07, 01:19 AM | I am going to be running a higher powered campaign over the summer, and i was debating on using the gestalt rules. I love them, but i also like the feeling of individual classes. One of my players suggested this, and we will probably end up doing it. you can take full levels in one class and gestalt every other level in another class. so you could be a fighter 16//rogue 8. round down, so fighter 15//rogue 7. 1//0 2//1 3//1 4//2 ect. I figured i would post it here and see if anyone could think of any glareing problems/suggestions/comments. *note we are also planning to run this as a high level campaign as well. Elite men for an empire so on and so forth, so we would be starting at level 15 or so. |

So you could have a Strong 3/Fast 2/Tough 5/\Fighter 2/Rogue 4/Barbarian 4. The levels would then go: 1: Strong/\Fighter 2: Strong/\Fighter 3: Strong/\Rogue 4: Fast/\Rogue 5: Fast/Rogue 6: Tough/\Rogue 7: Tough/\Barbarian 8: Tough/\Barbarian 9: Tough/\Barbarian 10: Tough/\Barbarian and you take the best skill points, the best save bonus and the best hit points from each level. You also get both sides for class skills. :D |

The rules for Gesalt is not very clear on this and says that there is wiggle room. Now you are cutting the power in half. Clearly an increase in Cr is needed, but by how much? Not trying to be negative, just throwing ideas to think about. I am about to start a campaign where the players will be using gesalt. But to balance the power increase I am limiting the availability of magic items. No more shops stocked wall to wall with every magic item. |

As for CR they would almost entirly be fighting humanoid opponents with class levels, who would also be gestalted. So that wont be as hard. |
