Any way for an amphibious aquatic? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I read in Unearthed Arcana that aquatic creatures can only last so and so rounds before suffocating, unless they have the amphibious special quality. My question is: with one of the aquatic races shown, how can one obtain this amphibious special quality? Is it in the book? Is the answer in any book?
I'm planning an aquatic halfling druid 3 for a pirate campaign my friend's doing (she's accepting it so far) and if I don't find a way to get amphibious, it's only going to be a minor hassle anyway, but it'd be nice if I did.

Not that I've seen. You could get a template (or PrC) that makes the PC undead, a construct or incorporeal, thus negating the need to breath altogether.

Savage Species has a spell called Air Breathing (Wis/Sor 3, Drd 3, Clr 3) that lasts 2 hrs/level.
